Enjoyable planning process and well-executed event!

Every step of the process was smooth with Select Receptions. During the intro call, Kirk really took the time to listen to my vision, explain his process, and ask the right questions. I loved being able to log into the planning portal on my own time to plan out the music for the day, and the tools included a questionnaire for all ceremony and reception details (including music to play during each), timeline for important DJ announcements, and song requests with optional rankings for the reception. We had another thorough phone call about a week before the wedding to talk through any final details. We didn't find out that Kirk would not be our DJ until that phone call - that he would be sending another well-known DJ in the area Kurt Herzog, in his place do to a double booking. I only wished I had learned that sooner because I had no communications with Kurt ahead of time. That said, Kurt was fully in the loop and handled the whole event confidently and comfortably, and even threw in a few last minute additions at our request. He was professional and extremely pleasant to work with. Thanks to both Kirk and Kurt for playing a crucial role in an unforgettable evening!

Kirk & Tim were absolutely incredible! Leading up to the wedding they asked plenty of questions & were very accommodating to any request we had. The day of Kirk was with me (the bride) getting ready before heading to the church & Tim was with Alec (the groom) getting ready. They had plenty of cameras set up for different angles, mics for audio, and a drone for some really cool shots of our house where I got ready, the church, and the venue. We've lost track of how many times we've watched our wedding video and our friends & family love it! They even provided whole video files for the ceremony, speeches, and first dances. We could not have asked for a better team to record our day!

Amazing DJ!

Our DJ was incredible. He worked so well with our other vendors and made sure that we stayed on schedule with all that we wanted for our evening. They coordinated and communicated with us very clearly leading up to the event so everything went smoothly and we felt so comfortable on our wedding night. We got so many compliments for the music that was played that really delivered the perfect vibe for our wedding - it would not have been as fun without them!

June 2023 Wedding

Kirk was absolutely wonderful to work with! We used Select Receptions as a DJ and for videography for our June 2023 wedding. Highly recommend. Amazing DJ and Videographer

We love our wedding videos so much! We watched with family over Christmas and cried all over again. Kirk and his assistant were able to capture so much that we missed, and our highlight film was longer than expected. When I didnt even think anyone was paying attention, he caught a very subtle glance and smirk between me and Todd that me that absolutely makes my heart soar. I didn't know what to expect, but I'm thrilled with our decision. Both were very professional and friendly all day as well. The dancefloor was hopping all evening and multiple people said it was the best wedding they'd ever been to! The price was good too, considering what many djs and videographers alone charge. Awesome videographer and an awesome dj! We highly recommend Select receptions/ select wedding films.

Capturing memories

We are so grateful we hired Select Wedding Films to provide videography for my daughter's wedding. They were very professional and easy to work with, making sure to contact us ahead of time to plan what was important. The day went by so fast, it was hard to really remember it all. They were able to help capture all the memories for us!! We had a unique location, outside on our farm, and Kirk truly understood the feel and theme of the day and captured it perfectly!
The love and the joy of the day really shines through, and we will certainly enjoy watching it and sharing!

Great Vendor Experience

Stunning and Brilliant Events has had the absolutely pleasure working with this team on several occasions. We can’t recommend them enough. Amazing in every way

We absolutely loved Kirk for our wedding day videography! He was a such a positive personality to have around and made the day very smooth! He was very professional and 100% knew what he was doing!!! We got our videos back in less than 4 weeks and we loved them all! He definitely did his research on the venue and had gorgeous clips of the whole venue and wedding. When we were watching our videos my husband said, “Wow I didn’t even realize he got that” for a few shots and that is exactly the reaction we hoped to have! I would 100% recommend Kirk or anyone approved by Kirk to do my wedding videography!

We LOVE our wedding video

We couldn't be more happy with our decision to hire Kirk as our videographer. The whole process was easy and painless, and Kirk and his assistant shooter caught so many moments we missed. He even included an app to watch on our tv. Amazing!!!!!

I cannot recommend Kirk enough!! He was responsive, kind, and so great to work with. Our dance floor was PACKED and everyone said they had never been to a wedding where so many guests were dancing - and of all ages! It was so cool to see people from all different parts of our lives come together and make friendships with each other while dancing! Kirk even helped me mix my Mother Daughter dance into a favorite song of my late father to surprise my family. He was so patient and made everything we wanted possible. Don’t waste time looking at other DJs!

Select Receptions is the BEST!

My now husband and I worked with Kirk. From the start of the interactions with Kirk, we knew he was the DJ for us! We got married at the zoo, where Kirk also came highly recommended as a preferred vendor. Kirk truly helped save our wedding. After we had several changes with catering coordinators, he stepped up to help direct how the buffet lines should go— beyond just the music and DJ’ing! As for the DJ aspect, MC, he was fantastic and very organized! We loved his site where we could input the timeline, etc. As for our wedding day, we had a rain storm just before our ceremony and he moved his equipment around quickly and communicated with us at every step. After the rain cleared and guests went out on the patio, he even set up another speaker outside so guests could dance and listen to music! I can’t recommend Select Receptions: Kirk enough! He is so thorough and will really help to make sure all vendors are on the same page. Above and Beyond! If you’re looking for a DJ, MC, etc. go with Kirk!

Kirk was beyond amazing to us throughout our wedding process and the day of our wedding. We originally booked with him pre pandemic and like many others had to reschedule our wedding. He was extremely accommodating to everything during that time & did whatever he could to make sure our day was perfect! He did a great job with music selection and there was a group dancing the whole reception! He was extremely friendly, very quick to respond & even went out of his way with a last minute request I had & completely nailed it! Simply the best!

We hired select receptions for our wedding and we were extremely happy with how everything went on our big day. Kirk is an experienced professional who has every detail accounted for, not to mention we had extra requests that were pretty atypical and he handled them perfectly. Select receptions’ online planning tools are so helpful and ensure that every piece of the day is accounted for and they also provide song suggestions if you need some help. Having a good DJ that keeps everything flowing smoothly and on-time is crucial for a nice wedding experience and arguably the most important role in any wedding. With that said, we had so many people contact us after the wedding that mentioned how much the enjoyed themselves at our wedding, additionally we got compliments on the DJ (Thanks again Kirk!). Phenomenal DJ

Wedding MVP

We hired this company for both our wedding ceremony and reception services. Without a wedding planner we knew it would be essential to have someone to help with the wedding timeline and be there to make sure things ran smoothly throughout the day so our family and friends could relax and enjoy themselves. It was great to have the same company provide both day of coordination & music. Kirk was flexible during the planning phases and made himself available to us when needed-not just your 9-5 guy. The online client planning tools offered are simple and easy to use as well. Kirk helped create customized wedding song edits for our ceremony which was awesome! It gave our ceremony that special touch we were looking for. For the reception we also included their uplighting for our wedding tent, which gave the evening a fun, relaxed feel. Great- quality sound equipment for the dance tunes kept us on the dance floor making memories with our favorites! Kirk went above and beyond for us on our wedding day! He is a man of his word and we are happy we hired his company for our wedding celebration!

Amazing DJ!

Kurt was an AMAZING DJ. He truly created the perfect, most stress free evening for us! Kurt was communicative and made sure our night flowed without being interruptive. Excellent at our backyard wedding!

Kirk was awesome to work with every step of the way for our wedding last Memorial Day Weekend (5/25)! We loved his planning website and had so much fun choosing songs, the format is so user friendly and really helps you to focus on the important songs you want to hear. He was responsive to all our questions ahead of time and super organized and paid attention to details we didn't think of. We had a couple unique requests--my husband is a musician and wanted to play live with his groomsmen at some point--and Kirk provided seamless transitions, awesome sound and lights for a tent, and ensured our laidback backyard reception party didn't stop! We also added on the Photo Booth which was a huge hit with our guests and we loved getting copies of all the pics from the night. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! You will not be disappointed!!

5 Stars all the way!

We had total peace of mind from the very beginning that our wedding was in the hands of a professional. The day of our wedding was no different. Our venue's manager left the company and we were worried about the new person not being fully updated on our plans, but it was quickly evident that Kirk and his assistant were pulling everything together. I didnt have to worry about a thing. The music was great too. We like hip hop, but we had guests of all ages and having gone to several weddings in the last couple years, so many DJ's go straight to hip hop and club music. Not at ours. They did an amazing job of playing music for everyone, mixing between modern music and throw backs. At some point or another in the night, every single person at our wedding danced! I recommend Select receptions to anyone looking for both a wedding expert and amazing DJ.

Best DJ ever

Select Receptions did an amazing job for our June Wedding. From the onset, Kirk was professional and responsive, whether it was during business hours or in the evening. He had suggestions for multiple aspects I hadn't considered and helped me plan more than music! The whole evening flowed perfectly and when it was time to dance, you've never seen so much dancing at a wedding! Right up until the end. Coordinated Ease!

Kirk was great to work with! Our initial meeting went over an hour as we just got chatting about everything! His experience in weddings kept my mind at ease as he stepped up with organizing and acted as a coordinator for the big day. Above & beyond: WE LOVE KIRK!

One of the only vendors that we're not saying, "well, it would have been better if...". Kirk & John went above and beyond what we expected and we are incredibly grateful for it. One example of this: When the bride started to dance with her dad at the end of the evening, Kirk fetched the videographer, knowing how rare this moment was due to his health. It was such an important and precious moment with the father of the bride. It was something small but impacts in a huge way.

Also, Kirk and John went ALL OUT with the pirate gear and played it up for our Pirate themed wedding. From the beginning they were excited about our concept and fully on-board! It made our day infinitely more fun to have 2 awesome and in-character pirate DJs! On top of all this, they had the dance floor FULL the entire evening! There are not really words to describe how happy we were with Kirk and John. We received SOOOO many compliments on the music and how great it was. And we're still receiving them with people whom we haven't seen since the wedding. The #1 thing everyone remembers about our wedding was the dancing.

Kirk was easy to communicate with, very responsive, had great attention to detail, and embraced our theme! We really couldn't have asked for a better DJ team.

Great music, awesome personality, lovely lighting.

Kirk was a consummate professional. His online process of choosing songs was so convenient and use-friendly. He is, by far, the best wedding DJ I have ever seen. He made sure that everything was run by me and my husband before any decisions were made. He made an effort to be sure how every word was pronounced during his introduction for our Ukrainian traditions and ceremonies. He went above and beyond to play music we liked while mixing in music that was similar to what the party was enjoying. This shows how in tune he was with the vibe of the party. The uplighting was spectacular and really brightened up our venue (The Rosamond Gifford Zoo). Kirk is kind, friendly, and easy to work with. His partner was also amazing. I can't recommend them enough. I will never hire another DJ as long as they're around!

Impressive range, very professional and comprehensive service!

Select Receptions was a fantastic DJ choice from beginning to end. From our first meeting onward Kirk was very professional and accommodating, and offered a wide range of services to fit our specific wedding needs. He ended up taking on more of a coordinator role throughout the day since we didn't have a wedding planner, which was a huge help with ensuring the reception ran smoothly. He was also very patient and gracious when we needed to make a slight change in the hours of our reception close to the date. One of the things that surprised us the most was how well he incorporated our very varied music recommendations and suggestions, which he very enthusiastically responded to. My side of the family is Haitian and Cuban while my husband's side is European-American, so our music requests reflected a wide range of music from different cultural backgrounds and Kirk blended them beautifully without missing a beat in the whole flow of the evening. The dance floor was packed all night, and our guests couldn't stop talking about how great the music was! We would recommend Select Receptions wholeheartedly!!!

Total peace of mind

From the time we first spoke, I knew immediately Kirk was a professional. With all of the planning details I had for every facet of our wedding (dress, caterer, cake etc) it felt great knowing at least this aspect was off my plate and in good hands. The best! Every email and phone call was responded to promptly and the online planner was super handy. He had great suggestions for planning our reception agenda, and the way he took our song requests and created a playlist that was so perfect, we literally received dozens of compliments! We highly recommend Kirk and his team.

5 Stars! Our venue (Tailwater Lodge) Referred us to Select Receptions and we couldn't be happier. We are over the moon about how our day went and our services with Kirk and Select Receptions. We loved working with Kirk! He got us right away, knew the vibe we were looking for and boy did he deliver. I had a special song that was very lengthy and he modified it PERFECTLY for my walk down the aisle. Our guests hit the dance floor IMEEDIATELY. We had guests saying they’ve never seen an entire wedding hit the dance floor on song #1 and neither have we!! We are so glad we hired Select Receptions and highly recommend if you need a DJ, to do the same - you will not be disappointed!! We even paid extra to keep him longer and it was worth every penny!! Select Receptions made our wedding perfect. They weren’t just the cherry on top either. We have received so many compliments on the music selection and the DJ’s themselves.
When we first booked with Kirk, he spoke with us for almost an hour, getting to know us, learning about the type of wedding we were planning and obviously, our preferred music selections. Over the following months we kept in touch. There were several times throughout the planning phase when I was confused (which doesn’t take much) and Kirk was right there to answer any questions I had. During the wedding, he worked hand in hand with the venue’s wedding coordinator to make sure the timing to everything was perfect. I can’t say enough about how important this is to the overall outcome of a wedding.
We chose the uplighting package and this was a very nice add-on. It set the ambience for the dinner and then when everyone started dancing the lights changed color with the music, further adding to the fun. I highly recommend adding this to your package. We also added the photo booth. Our guests had so much fun with this and we got all of the pictures in a nice photo book as well as a dvd with digital copies of every picture taken.
We are normally a very picky couple, and Select Receptions exceeded our expectations. If you are planning a wedding, don’t skimp on a $300 DJ. With these guys you get what you pay for and more.

Kirk was wonderful!! Our goal was to get everyone on the dance floor at least once during our reception. Kirk helped us make that happen. He adapted his playlist to the crowd and everyone had a great time. If you're contemplating getting his up-lighting-- do it!! You will be so pleased you did. We had a backyard wedding and the neighbors commented their kids loved watching the lights! He helped make what could be a stressful day amazing. We learned about Kirk as he was our wedding photographers dj at her wedding-- that says a lot!!

Amazing is an understatement!

Kirk and his MC are professional, fun, and the quality of their work is cut above the rest! After seeing Kirk DJ at Justine’s sister’s wedding, we knew that we needed to have him at our own wedding. Our next step was to submit our wedding date through the online portal. He called us almost immediately to get to know us as a couple and understand what we hoped our reception would be. After several conversations throughout the process and even a Skype session to choose the perfect up-lighting that fulfilled our vision, we felt so comfortable and ready for the big day!

Kirk helped make our special night stress free and CRAZY FUN! It truly was the best night of our lives and Kirk was a huge contributor to that! Thanks Kirk!!!

Kirk was the perfect DJ for our outdoor wedding. It was a VERY HOT day, but it was important to me to have an all our dance party on my wedding day, and that's what we had! He kept the crowd excited despite the heat, had a great attitude and was very professional. His online portal made our prep work easy, was very responsive and provided great suggestions when asked, and even helped my mom out when she wanted to provide a special song for her speech without me knowing. I highly recommend Select Receptions!

Amazing! We got the lightscape plus package and I couldnt be happier. Select receptions handled lighting, dj and our ceremony and was responsive and professional every step of the way. Our ceremony was outsidde and I was worried nobody would be able to hear things, but with the microphone they put on my friend who married us, that wasnt a problem at all. They even had a cord ready so our videographer could record directly from their sound system during toasts. something I never even thought of but Kirk had it covered! He also helped script personalized (hilarious!) introductions of our wedding party, and I couldnt imagine another person doing it as good! Our wedding video wouldnt be the same without him! The dance floor was busy all night and he did a great job of reading the crowd, using our own taste to guide the music, and avoiding the cliche wedding stuff (though we did want a few of those too). Very glad to recommend Select receptions!

Kirk was amazing to work with. A DJ was first on my wedding check off list and talking with Kirk made it an easy decision. The online client tools is easy to work with and a wonderful way to request songs you want played and the songs you DONT want played. Our wedding reception was 1-5 on a summer day outside and Kirk had everyone out on the dance floor having the time of their lives. 5 stars all the way!

The service was more than I expected. All of our guests were complimenting us on our DJ and asking who he is. Got all of our guests dancing, was not pushy, and played the perfect music for us! He texted me a few days before the wedding and said "I've got everything covered! All you have to do is show up!" Which made me feel very at ease about everything! A young boy caught the garter and he handled it perfectly, such a funny time, still being professional (of course!) Would, for sure, hire Kirk (select receptions) again for anything we have going on! Kirk was fantastic! We used him for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception music. At first we were hesitant about not having live music for the ceremony, but Kirk did such an exceptional job of being discreet and making it seamless. Even when things didn't go as planned, he coordinated with all of our other vendors to get things back on track. The dance floor was packed consistently and the photo booth was a big hit. We are so happy we chose Select Receptions!

I'd give Select Receptions the highest recommendation. Kirk stayed in contact, the online planning for music was great, he stuck to what we liked and was true to his advertising all the way. Lots of dancing and nothing cheesy or over-played like what you hear at every other wedding you go to. Definitely our favorite wedding vendor! Thanks Kirk!

Stellar Dj! Guests continue to rave about the fun time they had at our wedding. We requested around 15-20 songs and the music was perfect all night long. We'd been to several weddings over the last couple years and were always mortified with the Djs. I didnt want to risk our reception being an embarrassing dud. Select was a little more expensive, but so worth it! Recommended!

5 stars, great dj! We planned our entire wedding from Colorado, and Kirk was a big help. The music was just what we wanted, a good blend of our requests and similar music that fit right in with our families. No in your face announcing, very professional in demeanor. One of the best decisions we made for our wedding. Not only was the dance floor packed, but the photobooth was too, and at the end of the evening we were handed an awesome scrap book with all of the pictures of guests in the booth. Just awesome. Kirk and his staff was always friendly and helpful to guests, and did I mention the packed dance floor? With everything we opted for (e.g. up-lighting which looked amazing, LOVE my pictures and even our photographer remarked that the lighting was great) the fact that we had an awesome dj was the cherry on top.

A complete pleasure to work with. Our ceremony wad perfect and our vows could be heard by everyone. At the reception, several guests commented on how professional he was welcoming guests on the microphone and introducing the bridal party. After that, announcements were only as needed and never cheesy. For music, we used the online tools to pick a bunch and they food the rest. Needless to say, the dance floor was packed all night as was the photo booth!

Words cannot express the amazing job he did! Everyone had the best time and he definitely got the party started, you should see the pictures! The uplighting was beautiful, the music was great...and the photobooth...the best! I was hesitant about the photobooth at first because it was an added expense. However, that was probably one of THE BEST decisions we made. Everyone, including grandparents, loved the photobooth. And the album we have from it was just the best. The monogram dance floor lighting was perfect for showing us off as a new couple. As an out of town bride, it was difficult to pick vendors, but this was a perfect match! He always answered my million+ calls and emails and helped me plan out the order of events for the reception. It was such a beautiful wedding thanks to him!

Kirk was such a pleasure to work with! We were able to talk with him several times prior to our big day. We skyped, met with him over coffee and exchanged several emails. He is completely dedicated to his clients, friendly, fun, open to ideas, professional, and incredibly talented! we knew right after our first conversation with him that he would be our DJ. My husband and I had a particular vision for the evening and he rocked the house perfectly. The dance floor was busy the entire night (and our reception was extra long!). We planned our wedding from abroad, and Kirk was so flexible and helpful throughout the planning process. The night appeared pretty much seamless with him at the helm, and he was great about addressing a variety of needs/nerves with speeches and toasts. When my now-husband flew back to the states, Kirk went out of his way to meet with him (our only in person meeting before the wedding!). We also had a pretty specific vision for what kinds of music we wanted, and that we wanted a quiet DJ. Kirk 100% lived up to that. There was not a signle song played that cleared the dance floor, and Kirk sort of faded into the background except to help with schedule transitions. He was fantastic, so professional, and got rave reviews from our other vendors. He even put up with a slightly intoxicated guest who kept calling him Captain Kirk, which pretty much makes him a hero in my eyes.

Kirk was great. He was flexible about playing the type of music we wanted to hear. I gave him a list of about 12 dance songs we wanted to hear (mostly funky 70's or dancy 80's stuff) and he ran with it, adding his own touch to the selection and providing us with a truly tailored musical experience. He was very good at gauging the room and knew when to switch from eighties dance party to modern club music (when the drinks had coursed through the guests.) Also, Kirk knew how to be a good DJ without attempting to make himself the center of attention, which I think a lot of DJs try to do. He didnt talk too much, just when needed. He was professionally dressed, as was his assistant. Kirk rules.

Our wedding was awesome! One of the things that all of our friends and family are saying is that they have never seen a wedding were the dance floor was full from the first dance to the very last. There was artful and skillful flow from song to song, and the mix was fun yet tasteful, young and old alike felt comfortable. The MC introductions and announcements were very professional yet high high energy. One thing that I really liked is that Kirk was an advocate for us (the Bride and Groom) he worked with other vendors to make parts of the night work out well and how WE wanted. Kirk also took time before to really get to know us and help us discern what we really wanted. Our music choice was eclectic (hip hop to polka, country to classical... and Kirk worked with us to make it an awesome night! Also the light show was powerful and fun, and the sound system was clear and powerful, no distortion even when the volume went up toward the end of the night. I interviewed several DJs and Kirk is the rare combination of highly professional and truly fun.

We talked to 5 different DJs, with CNY Select DJs (Kirk) being the last one. After getting off the phone with him, we knew that we had made the right decision to book him. Kirk then gave us access to a client tool that allowed us to begin the planning process. He was very responsive to us via e-mail/phone, and when we met in person, we discussed the details of our big day and he offered suggestions and ideas to the various aspects of it. We left this meeting feeling even more confident than our first phone call. Originally, we came up with our own playlist for the cocktail hour, but a few days before the wedding, we scratched that idea and contacted Kirk for help. He immediately stepped up and sent us a list of music he thought would fit perfectly and we couldn’t have been more pleased with the selections. Kirk was always there for us every step of the way.

On our wedding day, Kirk orchestrated the entire reception to perfection. He made sure the photographer, videographer, and venue contact were all on the same page with the timeline of events at the reception. He made sure the wedding party was where they needed to be before formal introductions. He let our parents know when the parent dances would take place so they could be ready. He made sure everything ran smoothly and his MC ability was professional and top of the line. His ability to read a crowd, even with the wide age range of our guests, was shown by the music he played during the reception because he was able to get people out of their seats and on to the dance floor. People didn’t leave the dance floor all night, which is why we asked Kirk to stay an extra hour and he was more than willing to accommodate us. We also had multiple guests comment on how much of a beautiful touch the monogram we had added to our reception. I would recommend Kirk to anyone who is looking for a professional, courteous, organized, and knowledgeable DJ. Kirk, thanks so much for making our day truly special!

Music was one of the most important elements for our wedding, and Kirk did not disappoint! After reading all the awesome reviews, we booked Kirk right away (even without meeting him first!). We met Kirk a few weeks later, and we knew right away that we had made the right choice. Kirk was very accommodating. He offered to meet us close to our home even that meant he had to drive almost 30 min to get there. Not only that, we usually arrive early to our meetings, but Kirk beat us to it this time. I know professionalism when I see it, and Kirk is certainly one of those people. Kirk gave us many ideas for our wedding; from wedding day schedules to song choices, Kirk has made a positive contribution to our wedding every step of the way. We’ve been communicating on a regular basis throughout the entire planning process. Whenever I sent Kirk e-mails regarding questions I had for him, he always replied in an instant. No kidding!

Kirk is not the loud, over-the-top DJ/MC that you would find out there. He makes the announcements when needed, letting us and our guests spend the quality time that we needed to catch up/meet. Kirk did a fantastic job at choosing the perfect songs to play for every segment of our wedding. He knew exactly how to read the mood of the reception so as to accommodate the diverse music preference of our guests. One of the biggest concerns that we had was how to get our guests dancing. But that was no problem at all - I have never seen my friends and family dance for so long and enthusiastically as they did at our wedding. Kirk certainly know how to keep the dance floor alive, and I cannot tell you how many complements we have gotten from our guest about what awesome song selections we had! Kirk, you have my highest recommendation! You did a phenomenal job at giving us a fun and elegant wedding at Mirbeau Inn & Spa. We cannot thank you enough for what a wonderful memory you have helped us to create!

For our wedding we had guests from many different backgrounds. Kirk was able to put together a mix of music that created an environment where every single guest had a fun and memorable time...particulaly the bride and groom included.
He did a fantastic job as MC for the night in coordinating timing for first dance, father-daughter/mother-son dances, cake cutting and other key events of the night so that our photographer and reception site were all in sync. He did this in a warm and professional way.
Having been to many wedding receptions ourselves, Kirk stood out in his professionalism and ability to create a fun environment for people in all walks of life and from many different backgrounds. Many people told us afterwards that this wedding was the most fun wedding that they had been to and this is in large part thanks to Kirk's work that night!
Of note we purchased an extra hour for the reception because our guests were having such an enjoyable time that night on the dancefloor.
If you are looking for a DJ/MC for your wedding, look no further.
We would recommend him in the highest terms.

From our initial phone call, to the consultation meeting, and each and every interaction thereafter, Kirk and his company presented themselves consistently in a top-notch professional manner, knowledgeable in their field, demonstrated true passion for wedding & event planning servies, offered reasonably priced wedding packages/products, while making very valuable extra resources available (Online Client Tool), which was much appreciated as I was planning a Syracuse wedding from Michigan.

After the wedding, numerous guests have inquired about the DJ and I would happily recommend CNY Select DJ's to anyone. Kirk is extremely patient, open to suggestions ---and giving suggestions as to how to make your wedding stand out from others.

EVERYONE - commented on our names in lights on the dance floor, the music he played, and minimalistic commentary he provided. Kirk was never intrussive, always made sure the wedding couple was well taken care of.

Kirk, from CNY Select DJ Services was wonderful. Being the bride and unsure of how our new family would co-mingle for the day I was concerned with our choice of music and interaction with our guests. I wanted to have our wedding fun and interactive. Kirk was able to bring fun ideas into our reception and make our guests comfortable while encouraging them to get up and dance. Even though many of our guests opted not to dance the ones that chose to had a blast while the ones that watched enjoyed the show. Kirk was professional yet personable and was able to learn what made my husband, Bill and I special and unique. Kirk was amazing and hosted a wonderful wedding for us! We would not have had such a smooth wedding without Kirk!

Kirk not only met our expectations by showing up on time, prepared, and putting on a great show, but also exceeded them by building a relationship with us prior to the event so that our personalities and tastes shined through during the reception.

Living in Los Angeles, 3,000 miles away from where our wedding took place, CNY Select DJs' website allowed us to seamlessly create a detailed model for the reception. The online Client Tools service gave us peace of mind in our preparation, which was carried through flawlessly on the day of.

The library that is offered is endless. For someone who comes from a background in independent radio, I was thoroughly impressed with the selections I was able to find on tap. Kirk will also accommodate requests that he doesn't already have, but I dare you to find one!

Or, if you don't know what you want, give him a general sense of your likes and he'll come through with ideas and suggestions.

On the day-of Kirk was just as polished. He was personable, polite, and sincere. His MC delivery was rooted in experience and his equipment setup was clean and sounded fantastic… Talk about getting the dance floor going!

It should also be mentioned that our experience - though meticulously catered to our needs and desires - was extremely reasonably priced.

Like you reading this review right now, we stumbled onto CNY Select DJs out of sheer luck and couldn't be more pleased with our choice.

People are still talking about our wedding and how great the music and DJ was. It is a memory that we will have and cherish forever.

Putting on a good show at a wedding reception - or any event for that matter - is a monumental task, but Kirk is a master at his craft. Why trust anyone other than a master to get the job done?

I cannot say enough good things about this DJ. At first I was nervous because I found him through a google search and didn't know anyone who had used him before but as soon as I spoke on the phone with him I was immediately at ease. He was organized, helpful, and nice. I truly felt that he wanted our day to be perfect and he listened to what we wanted our day to be like. He kept us on schedule throughout the whole reception without being overbearing and the music was awesome all evening long! I would HIGHLY recommend using him for any event where you want your guests to have a great time!

Don't look any further. Seriously. Kirk was amazing from day one. He was incredibly communicative, friendly, and knowledgable. He was open to meeting with us to discuss our big day on more than one occasion, and he felt more like an old friend than just someone providing music. He took our wedding very seriously from finding the exact versions of songs that we asked for to timing everything perfectly. Even when other vendors were goofing up on our big day, Kirk swooped in and saved the day by rearranging his own schedule to make things run more smoothly. Always friendly and always wanting to know what he could do to make our day perfect, Kirk and his services won't be forgotten. So many guests commented on the fun music and good times, and so much had to do with Kirk and his assistant. Professional, courteous, responsible, and fun, CNY Select DJs made our day!!!

Kirk at CNY was a pleasure to work with, very easy going and professional. When we first met up to talk about the event he had all the bases covered and was very open to ideas that we brought to the table. Communication was great, I felt like I was good hands from the start. The event itself was wonderful! The music selection was awesome, everyone of all ages danced all night. The vibe was excellent and Kirk was great at checking in with the groom and I. I never felt worried or stressed out at any point in the planning or the night of the reception. I would definitely recommend working with Kirk. Do yourself a favor and hire CNY!

Kirk did an excellent job keeping the wedding/party moving along. We had such a great time. I didn't even take advantage of the services he provides so you can select your music. I only provided a small amount of music that we wanted to hear. He chose everything else. I would not question using CNY Select Djs when I am in New York State.

Cny select Djs did a great job on our wedding. We had another dj already lined up who CANCELLED (unbelievable) and we were scrambling, but glad cny select had our date available! Such a different experience from the dj who backed out. We planned the entire wedding from out of town and Kurt was very helpful. We had complete control over our music and picked a ton of songs through our client account on the website. We were married outside on the golf course, with our reception at the Greenview country club. Relatives commented about how great the sound was for our ceremony and were impressed they could actually hear our vows. I would not change a thing. They were very professional at
all times and I'd have no worries recommending them for anything.

I knew the most important thing about my big day (other than marrying my husband) was not the dress or the flowers, it was the Music! My two big passions are music and dance so finding the right DJ seemed like a huge decision. I did not want the line dances or the same music you hear at every wedding. I wanted music that I loved to dance too. CNY Select DJs gave me exactly what I wanted at a price I could afford. Not only that but I had mentioned to the DJ that my new sister-in-law had made our wedding cake and he remembered and said a thank you on our behalf over the mic that was just perfect when he introduced the cake cutting. He also got there early and had music playing even though our guests were not supposed to arrive for another hour and a half. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You CNY Select DJs!!

CNY Select did a phenomenal job on our reception. The music was everything we'd hoped for, the online planning tools made it easy and fun and they kept everyone dancing all night. Our wedding and reception were outdoors and their lights lit up our tent very cool. Everyone was impressed. I'd definitely recommend CNY Select again!

I worked with Kirk to arrange for DJ services for my own birthday party--great value, professional service, unobtrusive yet friendly presence! Many of my guests remarked on the music, and even struck up conversations with Kirk! Kirk had worked with my to develop an appropriate playlist for the event, and when I realized that one of the songs wasn't appropriate for the family atmosphere, he had already found a family-suitable version that could be played! What a guy, and what a business! Can't thank him enough, and was glad that I was able to make a successful referral for an event not too long afterward!

Very responsive and helpful. Kirk gave us lots of great ideas on things we hadn't even considered and his demeanor was very professional at all times. Our dance floor was packed all night and we even did the newlywed game which was hilarious! Tons of fun! Great dj!

I was very happy with our reception. After watching a friends video of our introductions, I can say with confidence that ours were absolutely the best I've ever seen at a wedding ever, and it was MINE!! The presentation in every way was professional and top notch. We saved a fair amount of money going with cny select over another service and I believe we actually had a better reception.

Kirk did an excellent job as our DJ/emcee! He was very professional from our first contact through email/phone, to our meeting in person, to the day of. We felt immediately in good hands and felt he understood us and what type of party we wanted to throw for our guests. He had plenty of suggestions in areas that we were unfamiliar. The dance floor was packed the ENTIRE night. The best part about Kirk was that I knew he had it under control- it took quite a long time to get my dress bustled before introductions, and I knew that while I was busy Kirk was getting everyone in line and explaining how it was going to work, I didn't have to stress. I knew that we would be ready to go the second that I was ready. It was really amazing to not have to worry about the flow or timeline. He even visited our venue about a month out, to make sure he knew the layout of our outdoor ceremony, and he was there early on the day of to set up. Another major bonus is his online client portal, we were able to add songs for months leading up to the wedding to our "Playlist" and "Do not play list" which was so fun!! I am a bartender for weddings, so I'm constantly dealing with the typical dj that loves to hear their own voice that doesn't sound like a real person. It was really important that wasn't who was at my wedding, and CNY Select DJs was a good choice for me. My only complaint would be that my now husband and I are musicians and asked for two of our songs to be played. Only one got played, and I was more excited to dance to the other one. I think this was probably a misunderstanding, just make sure you properly communicate what's important to you to whoever you work with. Kirk was professional and definitely seemed to have the attitude of doing all he could to help make the day all it could be. He even assisted us in getting some people out of the venue from an event that ended earlier that were lingering so we could set up. Another thing to keep in mind, is a lot of people I found in this price range advertise for themselves at your wedding, which is super cheesy. So, if you're looking for a DJ service with great sounding equipment that don't advertise themselves and will do all they can for your event CNY Select DJs is a great choice.

Kirk did our wedding at Celebrations in Ithaca and did a phenomenal job. The dance floor was packed all night. He politely declined requests for the electric slide and stayed away from the cheesy wedding tunes we didn't want. His announcing was professional and personable.

Responsiveness- 4.5 stars only because I requested a song and it took 2 songs to get it on. I feel if the bride makes a request, you should drop everything and play it immediately right?

We were pleased well beyond our expectations with the service received from cny select. He took care to listen to us, and even requested details we hadn't considered. I was hoping to spend a little less, but overall I wouldnt change a thing. I've been to weddings that clear out soon after the cake is cut, but ours turned into a wicked party and we ended up actually going 5 hours instead of 4! Kirk included the extra hour free of charge. Thanks again!

Great MC and Kept the Party Going!

Kirk rocks! His playlist for the reception perfectly captured what we wanted and kept everyone on the dance floor (until they basically collapsed from exhaustion). We've even had requests for the exact playlist from guests. He was extremely accommodating to all our requests, and making sure the reception ran smoothly. His recommendations were spot on, and we're so glad we had his experience to help us plan the timeline. His introductions for the bridal party were perfect (combining three songs), and made awesome transitions between songs, which was totally unexpected. We definitely recommend him!

Kirk did a great job at our reception. He was very professional and non-intrusive. We really liked that we were able to pick so many songs on our own and the client tools were very helpful. We left most of the dancing music up to Kirk, he was able to make selections based on our tastes and many of our guests commented that there was a great mix of music, one guest even said it was "the best wedding music ever"!
