Best dress shopping experience ever!
I am so glad I found this place! After making the rounds to every high end Richmond bridal shop and coming up empty (and also being told I needed to buy a gown 2 sizes too big so it be altered for $500 more) I made the trip to Charlottesville. I found a gorgeous dress at SWAK that I fell in love with but it was the last one and discontinued and too small…Dina said no problem, she could fix it! Unlike the most bridal shop employees I had met previously- these ladies are skilled dress makers and seamstresses. After Dina was done - I felt as though the dress was made for me - fit like a glove. She also altered my bridesmaids dresses even though we bought them elsewhere. Amazing customer service - don’t go anywhere else for your dress!! -

Affordable and kind!
I got my wedding dress alterations done by Dina at SWAK, and she was extremely kind and professional. The alterations were perfect and the price was very fair. Would recommend to any brides in Charlottesville who are looking for someone with experience doing wedding dress alterations. -

Fantastic experience and beautiful dresses
I was beyond nervous to have my first ever bridal appointment, and fully expected to not find the perfect dress on my first visit. Natalia and Dina were nothing short of amazing- from making me feel comfortable, to listening to what I was looking for, helping me dress, even taking pictures/videos for me. Their selection of dresses was absolutely stunning, and I actually ended up falling in love with one I'd seen on their website. They were incredibly kind and understanding with my situation, and I was able to purchase my dress off the rack and the finances were very easy to talk about with them both. Fitting/alteration appointments were super easy and flexible, and I was amazed at every appointment at the utter skill of these ladies. I could not have asked for a better experience wedding dress shopping, especially for a pretty shy person who never could fully picture themselves get married. Also, the day of, the dress did absolutely wonderfully and was altered just so perfectly. I can't thank SWAK enough for their excellent work and dedication to wedding dresses- I definitely recommend them a million times over!!!!! -

Fantastic experience with my wedding dress
I loved my experience dress shopping at Sealed with a Kiss, and I found the most beautiful wedding dress. The staff was lovely and professional. We had so much fun finding the perfect dress and coming back for fittings later on. My mom also had her dress altered at Sealed with a Kiss, and was very happy with the alterations. Natalia went above and beyond with her professionalism and kindness during my first dress appointment! It's clear that she has years of experience with customizing dresses (making both small and large adjustments or alterations) to ensure you are 100% satisfied. She made wonderful suggestions throughout my appointment based on my comments for the previous dress. She genuinely listens and is so passionate in helping you find the perfect dress. Additionally, they have such a variety of dresses based on styles/preferences so you get to experience so much in one appointment. I would highly recommend!! -

Wonderful experience!
I was in a tough spot when a dress I had ordered, came in not at all as I expected and was promised. I was told about Sealed With A Kiss and hurried there the next day as my wedding is approaching soon and was welcomed in and helped the same day ☺️ everyone was very kind and I was able to schedule another appointment soon after, and found my dress! Excellent Experience
I am so thrilled with my experience at Sealed With A Kiss! I found my dress at another bridal salon but was having a difficult time with alterations and was not happy at all. A friend of mine had used SWAK for alterations and encouraged me to reach out. I am so glad I did!
It took my seamstress 5 minutes to notice the solution for my dress and was so so kind and the quality of her work was absolutely wonderful.
SWAK turned my dress experience around and made it so wonderful. I highly recommend this business to anyone in need of alterations. -

Fantastic salon. The dress I bought was out of a fairytale and gorgeous; and it was only thanks to Dina I found the perfect dress for my wedding. The wedding was only three months off, basically no time to find a dress at all, and yet she managed to find and tailor the dress suited exactly for me with a month to spare. Professional and a spectacular designer. Would recommend to everyone! -

Amazing service, beautiful dress
As soon as I was engaged I was dress hunting. I set up appointments at all the major dress shops in Charlottesville (my mom lives there and I wanted to share that experience with her even though I knew I was getting married in Vancouver, Canada). Sealed with a Kiss happened to be my first appointment, and Pat was my attendant. We loved chatting with her, and she let me try on maybe 20+ dresses in my appointment, which was amazing. I came away with a few immediate favorites but wanted to think on it. I ended up canceling my other appointments at other shops and went back to SWAK three times. During the third visit, when I was supposedly saying yes to a different dress, I was convinced to try one final one. It was the goldilocks dress, and I fell in love. The best part was, it fit me perfectly already so I was able to buy it off the rack at a nice discount! My dress was hand-made by Tanya Grig and sat waiting for me at SWAK until that magical day in January when it became mine.-

Thoughtful, patient tailoring
I live in Charlottesville, VA but purchased my dress from BHLDN in Bethesda, MD in Feb. 2020, and they directed me to Sealed With A Kiss Bridal for all my tailoring needs -- and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I visited Sealed With a Kiss later that year to begin the fitting process. Fast forward a few months and we've had to postpone our wedding, for obvious pandemic reasons. The team at SWAK was great, they gave me store credit to use once we'd figured out our rescheduled wedding plans and welcomed me back for an entirely new fitting since my sizing needs had changed from the first round. From there, Dina beautifully tweaked and cinched my dress to perfection, she created a beautiful, simple bustle, and worked with me until the dress was just right. Dina also made suggestions during the tailoring process for my second, post-ceremony dress, and added in some cups that meant the entire day was (safely and securely) bra-free, which I feel is important to note! Dina's thoughtfulness, kindness, and attention to detail is unmatched, and I feel so fortunate that I got to work with her. Sometimes, talking about how your body fits into a dress isn't the most fun, but she is an excellent confidence booster and worked hard to ensure that my dress and I looked great. 10/10. -

I am so grateful to the wonderful people at Sealed with a Kiss who fitted me for my beautiful wedding gown. I'm a 50+ bride and I was so impressed with the selection for all ages of women! Wedding mask!
I purchased my dress at another store but used Sealed with a Kiss for alterations. I asked if the extra fabric from the hem could be used to make a mask and they were up for the challenge. I went in for my second fitting and they had me try on the mask, made some minor adjustments while I waited (maybe less than 10 min) and it was perfect! I was so grateful and it looked beautiful and I got many compliments (on the gown and the mask)! -

Jessica at Sealed With A Kiss was everything you'd want from a consultant when shopping for a wedding gown! Not only did she help me find a beautiful gown (which meant coming back right before the store was about to close) but she was patient and understanding. She helped make the experience special without being over the top! She listened and within minutes knew the kind of girl I was and helped me find my dress - which was NOTHING like what I was originally looking for but was stunning and 100% perfect. Being patient and understanding can be challenging with any bride but especially one that lives 482 miles away. I had just gotten engaged a week before Christmas and was in town visiting my parents for the holiday. To celebrate the engagement, my mom and I went dress shopping. Not thinking I would find my actual dress, Jessica helped me put it all together and figure out how to get it back home! But it wasn't just Jessica that was amazing. When I picked up my gown a few months later, the team helped me find the perfect veil to match my dress and even helped me disguise my gown by stuffing the bag with extra fabric so my husband couldn't tell the dress' really 'poofy-ness' as we drove the dress home to Rochester, NY.Sealed with a Kiss Bridal's reply:

I had the best experience here! First of all, the shop is lovely and just a very cozy happy space. Next, the dresses. Such a great selection - I was able to try on a whole range of styles that I loved. Jessica, who was my helper, was fabulous! She made me feel comfortable and beautiful, and had great insights and suggestions. I found a dress I loved except for one problem - it was strapless and I wanted a little off the shoulder sleeve. No problem, she said, sleeves can be added! She whipped up some lace sleeves on the spot, pinned them on so I would see what it looked like, and I fell completely in love. Without her help and knowledge, I would have probably ruled out my perfect dress! Although she could tell I was in love with the dress, she did not pressure me or make it feel like a sale at all. I came to the decision on my own and she just seemed super excited for me and immediately popped the champagne! The S.W.A.K. team was amazing! I went to their shop apprehensive about finding a dress and Nancy was able to help me find my DREAM dress. She kept in mind my budget and what i was looking for. She was super friendly and made me feel comfortable and excited about saying yes. After I got my dress i also got my bridesmaids dresses through the shop. Susan was sooo on top of my dress order and was able to help me get my dresses in time for my bachelorette weekend which was super important because all my bridesmaids were out of town. When I got engaged, I had in mind what exactly I wanted my wedding dress to look like. I had been to a few bridal stores and had been unable to find what it was. I went into Sealed with a Kiss, tried on a dress that was close but not quite it and Susan offered to design what I had in mind.... IT WAS ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!!! It was so much fun watching the dress come to life! (although a little nerve wracking since I couldn't see it until it was made!). Throughout the whole process she was very responsive and changed things based on my preferences. At the very end, she even added things at my request just a few weeks before the wedding! It was such a fun experience, I felt like a true fairytale bride and I would recommend her over and over! Susan Sorbello designed the perfect dress for my Master's degree graduation. I told her the basic style and fabric and feel I wanted and she drafted a pattern that exceeded my wildest dreams. I am a voluptuous figured woman who still wants to be stylish, yet classic and it's hard to find what I want in retail stores at any price. She fitted my dress perfectly to my body and it looked sensational! Everyone thought it was not only beautiful, but also well constructed. It took into account my body flaws and minimized them. The dress not only looked great, it felt great, like a second skin. I was comfortable and felt beautiful. It was so well worth the price!
She makes recommendations to help you make the right choices and be satisfied with the end results.
I must add, she has designed other dresses in the past, which made me the belle of the ball. She also designed a well fitting custom bathing suit. There is not a price I wouldn't pay for her talent. -

Working with Jessica at Sealed with a Kiss was wonderful! She was so patient and helpful in pulling out ALL of the dresses I found that I wanted to try on and helping me get into them. She listened to what I liked and didn't like about each dress, as well as the budget, and ended up suggesting a dress that I immediately fell in love with and knew was "the one."
While I loved Sealed w/a Kiss, I had some concerns about the seamstress who did the bustle. The type of bustle she "does for everyone" is with organza ribbons. I was a little skeptical about this but she said it would look fine and was stronger than hook and eyes. When I arrived for my first fitting, I was immediately upset about the ribbons- the one ribbon stuck off my trumpet style dress right at my rear end- looking like an organza tail! It was very obvious and looked terrible. She tried to convince me to move it down rather than change it to a hook and eye. I was so upset with the ribbon so she agreed to change it to a hook and eye. Additionally the under layer of the dress was sticking out and didn't lay right so we had to put in 2 extra bustle points on the side seams to get the dress to pull up correctly so it would be off the ground. I felt like this was something she should have known would have been a problem during our original fitting. I left feeling very stressed and disappointed and had to return for another fitting a few weeks later. In the end, the ribbons that pulled the outside layers of lace toward the center of the back (which is hidden by the hook and eye pulling the center up under my rear end) ended up breaking off at my reception, but the hook and eye held beautifully! I was so upset that the ribbons broke off (luckily it didn't rip the dress, the thread came undone), I ended up sewing the ribbon back on myself just so it would be "right" while hanging in my closet. I was disappointed with this bustle experience.... -

I had a great experience at Sealed With A Kiss in Charlottesville! This was my first time trying on wedding gowns and it went better than I could have ever imagined. I went there with the mindset of just trying on dresses and seeing what style I liked, but of course I fell in love with the first dress I put on and ended up coming back to it after I tried on 10+ more gowns (and got it!!). I found my dress at a bridal show and was so scared I'd fallen in love with a $10,000 dress but it was only $2,000. They offer a 20% discount on your dress and your bridesmaids dresses if you buy them the same day you try them on (I did this with my dress but got my bridesmaids dresses elsewhere). The alterations on my dress were extensive and costly but they wouldn't let me leave until it was perfect. They even put clips inside my dress to hold my bra in place, and boning, instead of the tiny little factory-standard cups. They made sure it was perfect and the girl that did the alterations is trained in haute couture so a lot of her work is hand done. It was money well spent. -

I had a great experience here. I went to several Georgetown and DC area shops but was disappointed in selection, and the small sizes they have to try on. (I am 6'1 and dress size 12) Most of the dresses at other stores were so small I couldn't tell what they would look like or in some cases, I couldn't even get them on.
I decided to come to sealed with a kiss, as my sister purchased her gown here a few years ago. I worked with Jessica, and she is the best! So kind and helpful. They had a great selection and I was able to try on everything that I wanted to. Definitely recommend coming here and working with Jessica! It also helped that the dress were all under the 6 to 7 thousand dollar budget my mom had been willing to spend. My dress, slip, and veil all ended up being right around $3,000. -

Our experience was fabulous and I would recommend SWAK to close friends and family! They were extremely helpful and helped me find the perfect dress for my wedding! I loved the idea of taking a picture once I found my dress with a bride sign but was slightly disappointed in the sign that was available to use! We felt it could be done in a more creative way using a small chalkboard sign with rope or even a more creative font but I will forever cherish the pictures I have with my mom and sister!! Everyone we worked with was extremely helpful and nice! -

I came into the Richmond store about 8 months before my wedding. My budget was tight, but the representative did an AMAZING job helping me find a a perfect dress at the right price. I met Susan and was given the 411 about the best times to come in for alterations. When I tried on my dress for a final fitting and wasn't in love with the bustle, Susan worked some magic and found a bustle I did love and made changes within the hour...during peak wedding season! I am so thrilled with my dress and can't wait to send pictures. THANK YOU so much to Susan and the entire Sealed with a Kiss team. My day will be that much more beautiful because of you! -

The only place you need to go for your dress! I've never heard of another bride taking only 1 day to choose a dress, but I definitely did. The only problem here was that all the dresses were so beautiful it was hard to pick! -

Went here with a specific dress in mind, that seemingly no one else had anything close to (I'm sorry but I don't want a strapless dress). They had lots to choose from and they weren't all extra small, and I could actually try them on! The staff here were friendlier and more knowledgeable than the 3 other popular bridal stores I went to in Richmond. I highly recommend them! -

Everyone at Sealed With A Kiss was very professional and Susan was awesome! I went in being very overwhelmed due to the large amount of family and friends that came with me, and she was all about me and making sure I got the best experience possible. She listened to my friends and family but let them know that I was her number one priority. Susan made the experience an enjoyable time and not quite so stressful!! The dress selection was just what I was looking for! It had multiple styles within a variety of price points. Each dress looked of good quality and had a lot of subtle detail. I was looking for a dress that was "a different shade--such as oyster, blush pink, taupe," and they had quite a few for me to look at. The staff really looked over the email I sent of my favorite styles and go to dresses so far as I narrowed it down to 3 that I absolutely loved. During the appointment, they let us have our champagne toast, and this became especially important as I found THE dress! -

The woman who helped us was extremely easygoing and knowledgeable. She was very patient as my family argued over all the dresses I was trying on. She made the whole experience very pleasant for us. This store was wonderful! I was looking for a particular style that they had at their other store. They had the dress brought to the charlottesville location for me to try on. They even stayed late so that I could go after work. I was by myself and the sales associate was so sweet and helped me FaceTime with my family to select the dress. Such a great experience. -

I am over the moon about my purchase. Jordyn listened to everything I was looking for, or I should say my long list of things that I didn't want. They had a huge selection of dresses with straps since I knew I didn't want a strapless gown. Susan made my wedding dreams come true! I started dress shopping in Texas and I honestly thought the very first dress I tried on was MY dress. But my plan was to purchase from Kleinfelds in NYC (the "Say Yes to the Dress" store) so all the other stores were just practice runs. After Texas, I went dress shopping in Richmond, VA and was very disappointed in the selection. My next stop was West Main & all the dresses I tried on were lovely. But there was one dress that was over the top & I only tried it on because my mom insisted. I put the dress on & instantly felt like a princess! The dress was fabulous. My thought was that if I could get a dress like this in Charlottesville, the dresses in NYC would be amazing. I tried on several dresses in different price points in NYC but the West Main dress was by far my favorite.
Susan was such a pleasure to work with. She even made me a second dress for my reception. Her prices are also the most reasonable I saw in all 4 of the dress stores. I was able to get two dresses and accessories for under my budget.
I will gladly send a picture of my wedding dress to anyone considering another bridal salon & you will completely understand why Susan was the perfect choice. -

My experience at West Main Bridal was topnotch!
I purchased a custom-made gown made of high quality shantung silk and silk organza -- it was stunning. It needed slight alterations that Susan did in-house and with professional perfection. Jessica's patience, assistance and feedback were greatly appreciated since I was shopping alone. This is a low pressure environment and an excellent place to start and finish your dress shopping experience. Susan will work with you completely to help find you that perfect dress and look. I was very impressed with their Suri line of bridesmaid dresses and the variety of bridal gowns in the shop. If you live in or around Charlottesville (or anywhere in VA!) you should definitely go here and support this locally owned business. -

I cannot say enough great things about West Main Bridal!! I was hesitate at first because it seemed like a small shop but there were by far my favorite. I really appreciated the sales style of the wonderful JESSICA who was extremely helpful but also laid back, was not pushy at all, and did not make me try on dresses I didn't want to. They listened to me, were very flexible with appointments, and were always incredibly friendly and fun to work with. SHARON is also fabulous!!! She altered my dress, added beautiful (and unique) straps to my wedding dress! I have already recommended multiple friends to this store!! -
