The absolute best!!

We do not even know where to start with Sea Stars Catering. They went above and beyond anything we could have imagined for our wedding and helped us create the perfect day.

We decided to use Jamie as our coordinator and caterer, and boy, was she worth every penny and then some. Jamie helped us every step of the way and recommended awesome vendors for florals, bartending, transportation, photography, music, and rentals. We used everyone she suggested, and every single vendor was incredible.

Our venue fell through two weeks before our wedding, and throughout the chaos, Jamie was there to help us find a new venue, keep us so calm, and create the most amazing wedding day despite only having two weeks to re-plan everything. We never would have been able to pull it off without the help of Jamie and Sea Stars!

Chef Paul’s food was spectacular, and our guests are still raving about it!! Every dish was delicious, from the lamb pops and crab cakes to the fried artichokes and the black cod, squash, and steak main courses. Everything was so so good, and my husband and I wish Chef Paul had a restaurant so we could go eat his food again and again.

We could not have asked for a better wedding day. We were able to be stress-free and present with our family and friends, which is mainly due to all the help from Jamie, Chef Paul, and the staff from Sea Stars. We cannot recommend Sea Stars enough, and if we ever need a caterer or help with an event in the area again, we know exactly who we are going to call :)

Sea Stars Catering

Jamie was fantastic with arranging catering for out small wedding at Wind and Sea Estate. The food was excellent, Chef Paul did an amazing job. She also did a great job helping coordinate what might be needed for the day. Recommend to everyone having a wedding in the Big Sur area.

Five Stars for Sea Stars

We hired Jamie to cater and coordinate our wedding, I can't say enough good things about our experience with her. Our original wedding date was in 2020, we decided to postpone to 2021 and she was so gracious and helped us find a new date. We only hired her for day of coordinating but she went above and beyond to help us find the right vendors and to answer my hundreds of questions leading up to our day. We had never even visited our venue prior to our wedding day so we had so many worries and questions about the space, she made us feel at ease. She was professional and so calm and kind. The food was absolutely incredible, it was not only the best "wedding food" I've ever had but honestly one of the best meals I've ever had. All of our guests were impressed with chef Paul and her entire team. I highly recommend hiring Sea Stars for your event!

The sole reason the wedding was a success!

I highly recommend Jamie and her team, especially at Big Sur venues like the Wind and Sea Estate. She has so much experience and the food was phenomenal. She also provided day of coordination for an extra discounted cost, which was the only reason our wedding went as smoothly as it did!! Totally worth it.

Simply perfect.

I wasn’t sure what I needed help with when I first contacted Jamie, but she walked me through what I needed to know with ease. After our first conversation I decided to hire her as my wedding planner and caterer. She’s great to talk to, knew exactly what I was going for, and exactly which vendors to get in touch with. My wedding day was perfect, I couldn’t have asked for anything better. I highly recommend her for planning, but if that’s not in the budget, day-of coordination with her is not to be missed! Also, many many people told me that the dinner was THE best food they have ever eaten! She hires the best chefs, is a culinary genius herself, and really made the experience feel like I was eating at the fanciest restaurant around. I cannot say enough good things about her and her company. I only wish I could stay in touch and do it all over again!

Jamie was the reason our wedding was so beautiful, why our dinner and dessert was so delicious and every hour of every moment went smoothly! I Highly, highly recommend her. Seriously the food was better than any wedding I’ve been to with such a homemade feel and professional quality, with kind and attentive serve staff! Beautiful Big Sur Wedding!

We had the absolute pleasure of working with Jamie from Sea Stars Catering & Events for our Big Sur wedding! I’ve never seen someone who works behind the scenes get as much praise as she (rightly so) did from our guests.

Jamie knows the area like nobody else - she helped us decide on vendors and referred us to the best DJ, transportation, rentals, bartender, florist, and even local wines to serve. She can really give you the proper guidance to make your dream wedding a reality and is everything that one should look for in a wedding planner. She is professional, incredibly talented, detailed orientated, organized, creative, and very accommodating. You can truly get the sense that she cares as much about your event as you do.

Her catering, also knocked it out of the park when it came to hors d’oeuvres and dinner! She helped us select a variety of passed appetizers and customized a family-style dinner menu! The food portions were very generous (nobody left hungry) and the quality of the food was top-notch, as Jamie hand-picked seasonal ingredients from the local farmer’s market before the big day. The food was delicious, creative, fresh, and fit perfectly with the venue and region - we couldn’t get our guests to stop talking about how much they loved it all!

Did I also mention that Jamie is a pastry chef? She made a number of desserts for us – such as freshly baked chocolate chunk cookies and home-made macarons! She also made our wedding cake - which was as delicious as it was beautiful and by far the BEST cake I have ever had. I even ate the leftovers for breakfast the next morning, and am already counting down the days to our first anniversary so that we can eat that top tier!!

We still cannot get over how great Jamie and her entire team were! If you are planning to have your wedding in Monterey, Big Sur, or Carmel, do yourself a favor and hire Jamie!

Delicious food and great design

Jamie was our caterer and planner, which made most of our wedding-planning process stress-free. We provided her with an idea of what we wanted, a few specific details, and let her do her thing. She's responsive, has a great design sense, and everyone keeps telling us how the food that her team served for our cocktail hour and dinner was the best wedding food they've had. The week before our wedding, we found out it was going to rain and Jamie really threw it into high gear, figuring out tents and rearranging our reception design so that we could still have our wedding outdoors. In addition, Kristen, our day-of coordinator for SeaStars, was vigilant, taking care of us the entire day and ensuring everything went well!

Phenomenal, doesn't even come close...

Jamie is amazingly good at what she does, and she does a TON! Shes a coordinator, planner, property manager, rental manager and chef with connections to everything else you could possibly need for your wedding day. I can't tell you how great it was to go through Jamie for our wedding and hire her to help us with all the details you could imagine. Shes organized and talented and a complete one stop shop which made the planning process so much less stressful. Instead of emailing and dealing with a million vendors and organizing them I could go through Jamie for almost all of it and she would keep me in the loop through every step of the process. I was having a hard time envisioning our event and deciding on some major items and Jamie was able to create a vision of what I wanted after a few emails and phone conversations, and the end results were exactly what we wanted. She could see what I wanted even though I couldn't put it into clear terms! We had a few scenarios we needed to trouble shoot like unexpected wind, and a missing guest, and a power outage and her staff were able to solve the problems quick on there feet and roll with the punches to make the event still magical. She's extremely responsive and communicative and will always respond to you within 24 business hours, and never leave you unsettled with anything. If there's something not up to your expectations she will 100% make it right. We had a couple issues with a few vendors and she didn't hesitant to deal with them for us and come to a peaceful resolution. Lastly... the best part about our wedding was the FOOD! Jamie did our catering and the food was so amazing that our guests are still calling it the best meal some of them have ever had a few months later. She even put an extra serving of the meal away for us to enjoy after the wedding! Which was amazing first thing in the morning when you wake up exhausted and starving from not eating much on the wedding day from all the excitement! We even dug into some of it the night of after everyone left! Her mac and cheese was the perfect midnight post wedding food! All in all, there is no one like Jamie who will do her best to make your wedding day everything you want with the budget you have. She will work with you and at the end there is no hidden fees, and everything is perfect! The service she provides is better than phenomenal, its outright WONDROUS!

Bring your vision to life!

I can't recommend Jamie and her team enough! Jamie was our planner, day of coordinator, caterer, handled our rentals and she made the most delicious wedding cake I have ever had! We spoke to Jamie about our vision for months and when we finally had our 120 person wedding in October 2018 at Henry Miller Memorial Library, it went off without a hitch! It was absolutely the most special day of our lives. Every detail was executed thoughtfully, and exceeded expectations to bring our vision to life. Jamie was extremely professional, and had such wonderful attention to detail. She offered so much advice and support throughout the process and was very helpful while walking through making important decisions. Every vendor on her preferred vendor list that we worked with matched Jamie's professionalism and were wonderful. They truly made our wedding the most spectacular!

Jamie is an incredible talent and brings so much passion and experience to the table when planning an event in Big Sur. Her style is immaculate and she was extremely supportive of our vision and forthcoming with invaluably helpful information about how to pull off a seamless wedding in Big Sur. Our wedding at Henry Miller Library was a complete dream, and we owe a huge part of that success to Jamie and her exceptional team. Not only did Jamie provide planning support and out of this world local/seasonal food service, but she also referred us to our DJ, rentals company, bartender, and florist. Her bench is deep with top notch event professionals who know and love Big Sur and who bring that love and attention to the events that they produce. My husband and I look back on our wedding with such deep gratitude and fondness; it truly was one of the most perfect days of our life. I knew I wanted to hire Jamie the moment I spoke with her over the phone for a consultation. She has an incredibly grounded, calming demeanor that makes her absolutely wonderful to work with during a somewhat intrinsically stressful event. Her style/taste is impeccable, so you truly can trust her judgement. You can give her just vague concepts and she seems to know exactly what you want, or if you have a very specific vision, she can work with that as well. I also loved how down-to-earth and willing she was to work with my budget. She was more than happy to come up with solutions to make the event less expensive. She also was incredibly flexible/calming during potential weather shifts that occur. She knew the event space (Wind and Sea-- also HIGHLY recommended), so well that she could account for any potential blip/permutation that could occur, and was prepared!

When the wedding actually occurred it was better than I could have even imagined. The food and decor was INCREDIBLE. She was even able to accommodate my family's multitude of dietary restrictions into a gorgeous/delicious meal for all. My expectations for SeaStars were very high (form viewing her gorgeous website), but the actual event was even better.

I had debated whether it was worth paying Jamie to coordinate that day-- it was sooo worth it in the end. Jamie anticipated my every need, her staff was lovely, it was all so seamless. I can't thank SeaStars enough!!

Jamie was everything I was looking for in a wedding planner, coordinator, caterer, cake-maker, rental company, stylist, and -- at times -- bridal therapist. :) Every time I told friends that I had one person who was doing all of the above, their jaw would drop.

Numerous guests continue to rave that the food and cake were hands-down THE BEST wedding food they'd ever had--or best meal in general. I felt somehow proud to say it was just Jamie (and her chef) that did it all. I will forever remember a few of the dishes (scalloped potatoes with pancetta! Drooling now just thinking of them.)

Beyond food, she truly got my aesthetic -- or my blurry vision of one -- and elevated it. She recommended me to local vendors who were SO perfect -- our bar company, our florist, hair, shuttle, local woodworker, literally everything. She kept me calm. She knew when to be floating behind the scene, keeping stress low, and when to get in front stressful situations so that I didn't experience them.

I'll add one more special Jamie moment: right as I was about to walk down the aisle to our wedding, she told me with tears in her eyes what my husband-to-be had said right before he walked out there. And that is a line I will always cherish... one that he only vaguely remembered uttering in all of his nervousness. :)

Jamie is a true pro, a tastemaker, the best in everything she does. But more than that, she's someone you want to have around you in hopes that some of her magic will rub off on you.

Working with Jamie and her team was an absolute pleasure. I was a difficult bride in the sense that I didn't have a ton of strong opinions about what I wanted for our day. Jamie was able to work with me in narrowing down a theme and creating a vision that was perfectly personalized to us as a couple. The flowers and rentals were so gorgeous and really transformed our ceremony location and reception site. She had tons of recommendations about vendors to use in the area and was able to provide guidance to help us stick to and get the most value out of our budget. She took all of the stress out of the planning process and out of the day itself with her calm demeanor and excellent organizational skills. She was on top of every detail and the wedding weekend was planned perfectly from start to finish so I had nothing to worry about but spending time with my husband and my family and friends. She is a deeply kind, creative, calm, and friendly person who we felt honored to have included as a part of our day. Working with Jamie was definitely the best wedding related decision we made and I would highly recommend working with her!

I'm not sure I could say enough to emulate the experience that Jamie and her team at Sea Stars created for our wedding day. We began the process of planning with her over 6 months before the wedding and she guided my husband and I through every decision, every step of the way. Jamie truly went above and beyond in the planning process. We had never organized an event like this and were even more out of our element since we were from out of the area and didn't know any of the available vendors, so Jamie really took over and helped us define exactly what we would need for comfort and an overall perfect wedding day.

Now, lets get to the food...the highlight of her services! Jamie and her team prepared the most decadent dining experience for us and our guests. My husband, a chef himself, was incredibly impressed by her flavor palettes and pairing of ingredients, as well as the wonderful environment and aroma that was created when they prepared all of the ingredients and dishes from scratch right there in our kitchen. We had been smelling these delicious scents all day and finally when it was time to sit down for dinner, everyones mouths were watering. Throughout the planning process, we were very aware of cost and very mindful of our budget. We kept the count for dinner very accurate as it evolved, yet Jamie happily made more than enough for everyone to be completely satisfied. She even helped us throw in a last minute appetizer to keep our guests happy during a big delay in the wedding timeline.

We were 100% thrilled with everything she offered us and her execution of our big day. To say that Jamie was simply our caterer would be a lie, she really acted as our coordinator and if it weren't for her, I don't know that we would have seen our vision and dream come to life that day. Thank you Jamie and Sea Stars! We couldn't imagine our wedding day with anyone else.

Sea Stars was the perfect catering choice for our wedding last May. Having good food was an important part of our wedding. We found Sea Stars website and were pretty much sold from the beginning on all the amazing selections of locally sourced food. Jamie is an incredibly talented chef and she was so helpful and flexible with finalizing our menu. The setup for our wedding day was wonderful, and the food was not only delicious but also presented beautifully. All of our wedding guests commented on how delicious the food was, from the appetizers to the dinner.

Jamie also went out of her way to help me coordinate our rentals for the day. Her experience really helped with making sure we we're covered with everything down to the smallest details. I was able to relax during my wedding weekend knowing that everything was taken care of.

I would highly recommend Sea Stars for catering!

Sea Stars is THE planning service to go with especially if you are having a wedding in the Big Sur area. Jamie is so incredibly knowledgeable on the ins and outs of the area, all the hidden things you would never think about or consider, and has so much experience doing weddings in this area. I never felt stressed about anything that was her responsibility. She handled every issue and had a back-up plan for any problem.

Her selection of rentals were also so beautiful and unique... My wedding felt one-of-a-kind because of her inventory and her eye for my design needs. The catering was exceptional, and all my guests said it was the best wedding dinner they ever had!

Please strongly consider Sea Stars as your wedding planning or catering service, you will be so pleased! Jamie is a delight to work with and does such beautiful work.

I call Jamie my Fairy-God-Caterer. She went way beyond the duties of a caterer in every way imaginable.
1) Catering - The food was magnificent. She prepared a custom all-vegetarian menu that our guests raved about. Everything was so fresh, well-prepared, and she used the highest quality ingredients.
2) Drinks - She created unique "his and hers" drinks that were spot-on to me and my husband's tastes. They really upped the special factor at the bar.
3) Cake and desserts - We opted for Jamie to make our cake rather than go with an outside bakery. This was a great decision! She made a dreamy devil's food cake with white buttercream icing and toffee topping. She coordinated with our florist to decorate it in line with our overall floral/greenery motif. I overheard a guest say it was the best wedding cake they ever had.
4) Rentals - We used her other company, Stardust Rentals, to set the tables and establish the mood for our wedding decor. All I did was make a Pinterest board with what I liked and she hand-selected items from her inventory that were PERFECT. Our design aesthetic for the wedding was off the beaten path and we weren't sure if anyone would get what we were wanting. She nailed it.
5) Staff - Lovely and professional. They reminded me of the wonderful little mice in Cinderella, quietly working efficiently and tirelessly to make our wedding amazing. They also helped SO much with clean-up after the ceremony.
6) Referrals - Given that I live in Los Angeles and was having the wedding in Big Sur, I felt at a loss of where to start with who to hire for a destination wedding. Jamie is in the know! She had excellent connections.
7) Miscellaneous - Jamie helped coordinate our timeline for the day. She provided us with everything we needed and all the information one would want to have for a destination wedding. Jamie is obviously a perfectionist by the quality of her work; however, it comes with the most calming and nurturing energy. She is truly the best.

Hiring Jamie and Sea Stars was the best decision we made for our wedding! Jamie immediately set us at ease with her calm manner and her bounty of experience and knowledge of throwing an event in Big Sur (while we were living in LA, so planning from afar).

Jamie's personality is very calm and laid-back, which was enormously helpful to us. I know a lot of people get really stressed in wedding planning. Anytime we felt overwhelmed, Jamie's demeanor made us instantly relax. If we asked her to help with something, she would immediately take it off her plates and out of our minds, and quietly just handle it. She was so thoughtful in her planning process, made great suggestions, totally understood our style and what we wanted the feeling of our wedding day to be like, and was incredibly efficient.

The intense preparation and work Jamie and her staff put into our wedding day was truly staggering. We were at the venue the night before for a rehearsal, and when we walked in mere hours later, the entire place had transformed into the most beautiful event we could ever imagine. They all offered bright smiles throughout the day and night, made sure we ate as we were greeted by well-wishers, brought us drinks as soon as ours were empty, watched out for our family members' comfort, and made the whole evening fun and worry-free.

Sea Stars made our wedding day the most fun day of our lives and went above and beyond every step of the way! Did I mention this was all while she was planning her own wedding (and several others)? She's an absolute superstar! Thank you so much, Jamie!

My husband and I have worked with Jamie Jarrard's Sea Stars Catering and Events several times over the years, on events small and large, and I truly would not ever want to work with anyone else! In her role as an event coordinator, she is a force of nature--capable, calm, wildly creative, contagiously positive, imaginative, indefatigable, patient, kind, warm, industrious, tough, and armed with a 'little black book' of specially sourced ingredients from amazing hard-to-access farmers, magical off-market lodging options for guests, and a wonderful group of friends and colleagues whom she is able to gather and assemble as staff to perfectly fit the tone of any given party/celebration. She can pretty much make anything happen! Any concept you envision, any dish you desire, any theme you want to conjure. Perhaps (for us) most importantly of all, she is a truly superb chef. She has prepared some of the best dishes I've eaten in my life. Not only is her technique impeccable, but her presentation is gorgeous, and always perfectly tailored to the vibe/theme/setting/season/spirit of any gathering.

Jamie is also amazing in stressful situations. She remained patient and calm in the face of multiple crises that arose during our wedding planning (needing to change our venue just weeks before the big day; solving multiple guest-housing dilemmas on one of the busiest Big Sur weekends of the year; and springing into action to set up a tent and keep guests comfortable and happy when it started pouring rain on our wedding morning). And she did all this while carting around her tiny newborn baby. See why I call her indefatigable?

I honestly can't say enough good about this gal. She is a treasure, and working with Sea Stars is a guarantee you will have an amazing, elegant, fun, unique, heartfelt, and unforgettable event.

Sea Stars did a fantastic job on my reception meal & Chef Jamie had such wonderful options as well. Not only was she flexible when I threw around the idea of roasting a whole pig, but she had the most perfect recommendation (The Pig Wizard!) to complete the meal! Jamie also rolled with the punches when we ended up having to relocate our whole wedding 1.5 weeks before the date due to a wildfire in the area. She was extremely accommodating & coordinated moving her staff further north for our new venue. We ended up spending a bit more than we had initially budgeted, but the meal was unforgettable.
