Outstanding DJ Experience

We heard about Scratch Weddings from Wedding Wire and our venue. Through COVID and related wedding setups, Scratch Weddings was our easiest vendor to deal with, always responsive and extremely accommodating. Their process for reviewing prospective DJs by their music styles and selecting music for the wedding was easy to use and required a much shorter amount of time than I expected before finding Scratch Weddings. Their DJ arrived at the venue on time, set up the equipment (part of the package, i.e., one less venue setup piece to worry about) and knew exactly what to do without missing a beat thanks to his experience and Scratch’s planning process. If you want a worry-free DJ experience, Scratch is a great option!

Kept the Party Going All Night

We worked with Scratch to match with DJ D-Tweed for our wedding this past September. The Scratch team was very professional and they have a bespoke portal that makes selecting songs for important moments in the day very easy.

DJ D-Tweed was fantastic. He mixed the music perfectly and matched the vibe we requested exactly. He knows how to read a room and keep the energy up throughout the night. He did a great job during the ceremony timing out all of our requested music interludes.

Hire Scratch!

Scratch Weddings is a fantastic wedding entertainment company. They are the epitome of professionalism and completely had our backs throughout the process.

DJ Qlassick was FIRE! He had the dance floor going ALL night and even checked in with my husband and I throughout the night. He was really great to work with prior to the big day as well. We had a meeting about a week out where we discussed our vision for the day, and he completely heard us and made it happen. I've had people ask me for their contact info after the event.

I would absolutely book Scratch/Qlassick again!

It was a party

Book Scratch Wedding

DJ Tweed and the staff at Scratch Weddings were super attentive, professional, and committed to executing our musical vision and the wedding playlist . To be perfectly blunt, DJ Tweed presided over and spun ALL the hits at an EPIC dance party. DJ Tweed and the Scratch Wedding team provided friendly and punctual service which was appreciated because planning a wedding has so many moving parts. Worrying about the DJ was never our concern. Highly Recommended.

Scratch Wedding and DJ Jon Blak are unreal!

Scratch Weddings was so easy to work with throughout the entire wedding process. They ensured all our questions were answered and they were extremely responsive. They offer a variety of different artists that speak to a wide range of personalities and musical taste. Scratch Weddings will work with you to get a sense for the vibe you are looking for and work to match you with your perfect DJ / musical artist and that is how we got matched with DJ Jon Blak.

To put it simply, DJ Jon Blak was absolutely phenomenal. His music selection had every single guest at our wedding, no matter what age, out of their seats and on the dance floor the entire night. He captured the exact energy and vibe we were trying to exude on our special day. DJ Jon Blak put in the extra effort to get to know us as a couple, understand the music that speaks to us and gets us energized, and that truly came through during our wedding day. DJ Jon Blak was with us from start to finish on our wedding day - the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception - and he did not falter once. He was the perfect hype man for our special occasion - in fact, SO many of our guests, guests our age and our parents age, told us it was the best selection of music they have ever heard at a wedding. We HIGHLY recommend DJ Jon Blak and Scratch Weddings for your next event.

You want DJ Jon Blak!

DJ Jon Blak was incredible - you want him for any party! Our guests were on the dance floor all night, ages 18-70. We were so relieved to find a DJ who wasn't cheesy or focused on lighting gimmicks. He was an excellent MC, hitting the perfect tone during announcements, and kept the energy high on the dance floor. We were very happy with the team at Scratch to prepare in advance, including their music match profile. We gave Jon some general guidelines and he really wowed us. Multiple guests requested his contact info from him and from us after the wedding. We had high expectations and Jon exceeded every one!

Scratch and DJ Sadhu were awesome!

We loved working with Scratch Weddings. My husband and I have unique music tastes and were very particular about what we wanted at our wedding. Scratch works with tons of DJs and they match you with a DJ who suits your music taste and needs. And, the best part is that they use an online platform where you can search for songs and create your playlist by time/event (first dance, bouquet toss, general dancing, etc). The program was easy to use and made us feel very in control over our music. We were matched with DJ Sadhu and he was awesome. He checked in with us before the wedding and arrived several hours early to set up. He followed our playlist to a tee, but was also flexible when I made some last minute requests during the reception. Scratch was a bit pricier than we had budgeted for a DJ but the splurge was well worth it - you definitely get what you pay for!

DJ Diva was the highlight of our reception

DJ Vida was one of the biggest highlights of our wedding! Our guests were raving about her throughout our reception. People kept saying to us: your DJ is amazing!! Even in the days after the wedding, we were getting messages asking if we could get her playlist! She definitely kept the dance floor going all night, which was exactly what we wanted. We also found that it was easy to coordinate and communicate our song preferences. The nice thing about going with a service like Scratch is their professionalism and the fact that in the worst case scenario, if your DJ can’t make it, they will send a backup DJ. Overall, we highly recommend working with Scratch and DJ Vida!

DJ Trife was AMAZING! I've seen him spin at so many other weddings that it was a no brainer to have him DJ our wedding. Scratch was awesome throughout the process, keeping you up with things that needed to be completed and timeline details. On the day of Trife had all of my guests on the dance floor. It was packed the entire night and EVERYONE and I mean everyone raved about how great the music was. We used our Music Match online portal to choose songs that we liked, and Trife was actually able to stick to all of them. I can't say enough great things about Scratch in general, but if you book definitely book DJ Trife!

Working with Scratch Weddings was a complete joy. As a very excited, newly-engaged bride, I contacted Scratch before my husband and I even secured a venue and wedding date, but Scratch was very understanding and sent us information anyway. I love that they aren't your typical wedding DJs and prefer not to be overly cheesy, which was what we were looking for. Once we booked our venue, moving forward with Scratch was a breeze. MusicMatch was just so perfect for me as I like to be organized, so my husband and I enjoyed creating our playlists. Even through staff changes, everything was smooth sailing with Scratch, and I am so grateful for their professionalism and communication. One of my biggest worries was not having a lot of dancing, but DJ Alias had the dance floor packed! He took what we were going for and supplemented our list with so many great songs. There were so many bangers played that night and my Jamaican family members were so happy when "our" music was played, considering it was a "multicultural" wedding and the majority of the guests were from my husband's side. There was something for everyone, and I think some guests from the two sides actually bonded a bit over the love of the music! Thank you Scratch Weddings and DJ Alias for a wonderful, fun-filled evening.

We hired Scratch Weddings for our wedding at Brooklyn Winery and used DJ Twin-T. The whole process was smooth and guided from beginning to end, which I very much appreciated since I hadn't planned big events in NYC before. They are clearly seasoned experts. Some of the best things:

1) They coordinated directly with the venue to arrange things like the sound system, arrival time, setup, etc. It was very seamless for me.
2) They let you choose your own DJ based on sound clips they send you. If you don't like any of the initial ones they send over, you can request more.
3) DJ Twin-T was AMAZING at reading the room and understanding our vibe for the wedding. We weren't really sure what exact songs should be played for the pre-ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner time, etc. (basically background music), so left it in her hands, and she did it perfectly. For the songs that we did tell her we wanted played, she put them on at the right time and didn't leave any out.

Our experience with Scratch was great - our music manager was Sandra, who was super helpful in arranging everything! Our DJ - Twin-T - could not have been better! She played during cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing. She chose AMAZING music that got everyone on the dance floor (nobody dancing was my main worry!), and was awesome with the flower girl who really loved her and kept going over to chat and request songs.

Our wedding was on November 11, 2017, and we had the pleasure of working with DJ Ollie. DJ Ollie was absolutely incredible -- professional, punctual, fun, and had all of the wedding guests dancing all night long. Our wedding was pretty diverse, with a ages ranging from five to mid-seventies, and several different races and backgrounds. DJ Ollie was able to read the room exceptionally well and made sure that a wonderful time was had by all. I'm still getting compliments from wedding guests telling me that this was the best wedding they'd ever been to, and there's no doubt in my mind that DJ Ollie and Scratch Weddings had a lot to do with that!

Sandra Usherov was the manager and point of contact that we worked with at Scratch, and she was also great. Very organized, kind, and knowledgeable. I was also a huge fan of Music Match, the database that Scratch uses which allows the bride and groom (and any friends or family members the link is shared with) to input all of the music they'd like played at all different points of the evening. It simplified and streamlined the planning process.

We hired this company as one of midtownloft and terrace's preferred vendor. Little bit pricey but they have us "midtown loft" special deal. They are very professional. We didn't have to worry about anything, they also provided music for rooftop ceremony and cocktail hour.
I highly recommend them.

We worked with Scratch to book DJ Alias for our wedding, and we couldn't have been happier. DJ Alias was AMAZING. We had such an amazing dance floor all night, and a big part of that was that DJ Alias was SO good at reading the room. If he noticed a shift in the average age of those on or around the dance floor, he would subtly transition the music accordingly. We even had one guest who said, "I didn't think I would ever think a DJ was the right choice for a wedding, but you proved me wrong." We went with DJ Alias and he was a DREAM DJ for our wedding. He's lovely, so nice and helpful, the music was on point! My husband and I could not ask for a better DJ, truly. We are both very particular with music, from being in bands and DJ'ing as well. And everyone was dancing and having a blast, he really knew how to keep it going. Our contact, Sandra at Scratch was also very on top of the planning/scheduling with us. They have a top notch team!! :)

We used Scratch for our wedding at Bedell cellars in July. Two words: DJ TRIFE. He kept the dancefloor packed the entire night. We submitted a list of songs that were current and hit lists, and he put in some oldies for us. The entire room was buzzing about how amazing he was! Friends of ours are looking into places he spins just so they can see him again! We also had guitarists at cocktail hour that were the perfect mood to start the night. Working with Scratch weddings was simple and professional. We had conference calls with our DJ and were able to pick our songs on Music Match- so amazing! Highly recommend DJ Trife!

FANTASTIC - If I could give Scratch 10 stars, I would! I got married on June 17, 2017 in Rockland County, NY and had DJ Cincere - who was phenomenal (HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM). He was the DJ at our friends wedding last year in PA and we loved him. Since he's based out of Philly we paid the additional travel charge for him to come to NY and it was definitely worth the extra $200. He had everyone up and dancing before dinner was even served and the number of compliments we have received from guests regarding the DJ made it pretty clear how great Cincere was!

The whole process was seamless and everyone we worked with was friendly, professional and helpful. My husband and I also loved Music Match and found it very user-friendly. Overall great experience and will be recommending Scratch Weddings to all my friends.

One of the girls in the wedding party recommended Scratch Weddings and we could not be more pleased! I LOVED the web portal that they use for the music. It was so easy to use and navigate. My husband and I had a blast picking out songs. We had no idea that so many different parts of the wedding day required different music. During our consultation calls, we explained that we wanted the DJ to play music that would appeal to all audiences. Our guests were a mixture of 20 somethings to late 70's and we wanted to make sure that everyone had a fun time. Our DJ was DJ Premonition. He was amazing and exceeded all of our expectations. Our guests hd an amazing time and danced the night away. He took the music that we had provided and created a playlist around it. He even let one of our guests try on his headphones and watch him work. I would highly recommend Scratch Weddings!

Thank you so much for making our special day so seamless with the music. DJ Decoy was GREAT and Sandra who oversaw everything was attentive and communicative leading up to the big day! He was amazing and everyone was talking about how great the music was the entire weekend. Such an overdue review - we used Scratch Weddings for our wedding in December 2016. We had DJ Marvl as our DJ and emcee.
Leading up to the wedding, our communication between Scratch was great - whether it was regarding the contract, the logistics, they were very organized and helpful with any questions we had. We were able to meet DJ Marvl prior to booking him (he had a gig near us) so that was a big plus.
On the day of, Marvl was there super early to set up, and he did a great job. Obviously good music is a priority, but what I really wanted was a DJ/emcee who was not CORNY - Marvl was great at moving the night along without being cheesy, and he did a FABULOUS job with the music.
I would highly recommend Scratch Weddings, and definitely DJ Marvl!

DJ Dos-A at Scratch was the man!!! From our initial phone call all the way through the wedding, Dos-A and the team at Scratch provided impeccable service. Dos-A listened to us, accommodated our additional requests for setups, song selection, and he even helped with the ceremony mics and our guest performer's sound setup. They aren't the cheapest option, but you definitely get what you pay for - and the DJ/MC is, in my opinion, the key to a fun and organized wedding!

Scratch was so easy to work with - from start to finish! They took into account our music preferences when suggesting DJ's and then made the entire process leading up to the wedding so simple. At the end of the night I received a number of compliments on the music and flow of the reception - someone even specifically said "I loved how the DJ never played a whole song, it kept the dance floor going and no one got bored!"

We had DJ Longfellow for our wedding on September 30, 2016 in Brooklyn - he was absolutely incredible! He not only played all of our favorite tunes, but kept our dance floor jumping from start to finish. After getting our wedding photos back, it is easy to see how much fun all of our guests were having on the dance floor! The person I worked with, Liz, was great! And, we LOVED DJ Rashaun as did our guests. He played awesome music and really did a great job of blending Bollywood with American music. People were dancing all the way till the end and I get compliments about him still!

Our wedding was at Brooklyn Winery in New York, and working with Scratch Weddings was quite possibility the easiest and stress-free part of our entire wedding process.

From the initial conversations with our event manager, to selecting our DJ, to utilizing the Music Match to put in all of our song selections, to going over the day-of timeline, everything was super professional and straight-forward.

Similar to how many others have said in other reviews, DJ Dan did an amazing job utilizing the song selections we put together, but was also incredible about utilizing his best judgement and discretion to pump up the dance floor, and also close out the night.

Highly recommended.

The best part of the wedding planning process was working with Scratch DJ on our playlist! Sandra was so responsive and accommodating to our requests and song selections. We absolutely loved DJ Alias--my husband and I are still receiving compliments from wedding guests! We would highly recommend Scratch DJ.

We had an incredible experience with Scratch Weddings. DJ Vida played at our October 1st wedding and we could not have asked for more. Every song we requested via their online portal we heard, and she set the mood perfectly throughout the entire evening. Both of our families and all of our friends filled the dance floor! So many of our guests complimented her work. Overall, Scratch was so easy to work with, responsive, and for a great price.

We had a great experience with Scratch! We worked with Kim, Liz, and DJ Shakee. Scratch uses a really cool app to help you organize all your song choices, and let you tell them what type of music should be played during all the different parts of the night. DJ Shakee ran with our suggestions and did a great job setting the moods we wanted, and then -- most importantly -- DJ'd an awesome dance party that kept people of all ages on the dance floor! Our guests kept coming up to us and telling us how much they loved the music and the DJ! Also, when we decided the month of the wedding that we wanted to add a few uplights to the dance floor, they had no problem adding them to our package -- and they looked great!

DJ Fingersmith and Scratch Weddings threw an incredible party and really nailed our wedding. They were very easy to work with and they have a great digital service called Music Match where you can curate what songs you want for all the different parts of the wedding online using a search function similar to iTunes. It was easy to use and fun to select all of our favorite jams for the DJ. I'm a hands on music guy, so this was great for me, but even if you're more hands off with music, Fingersmith has an excellent instinct and really knows how to keep things moving. Fingersmith was on time and ready to roll on our wedding day at Brooklyn Winery. The only negative thing I have to say is that he played the wrong track for the bride's entrance during the ceremony. It was supposed to be Bron-Yr-Aur, a pretty acoustic instrumental by Led Zeppelin, but he played Bron-Yr-Aur Stomp which is also by Zeppelin but is more uptempo and has lyrics. Wasn't the end of the world, but worth noting. Beyond that, he hit every cue perfectly, pronounced our names correctly, and threw a KILLER dance party. Our friends and families are dancers, to be fair, but the dance party was raging non stop for the entire time. Everyone was getting down with total disregard for everything, which was beautiful. Fingersmith perfectly balanced playing motown for the bride's dad, hip hop/pop/rock for us, and some latin for my dad and his side of the family. Fingersmith killed it. Definitely recommend.

This review is for a same sex wedding - highly recommend Scratch for those who don't want a typical wedding reception with the kitchy songs you normally expect. One of my biggest concerns going into this wedding planning process is that no one would dance. That turned out to be not an issue, and it's all due to the wonderful DJ June at Scratch Weddings. Scratch Weddings came highly recommended and is one of the "preferred vendors" at the Prospect Park Boathouse, which is where we had our wedding. While DJ June hadn't worked there before, Scratch is very familiar with the interesting space/layout that could present logistical challenges when it comes time to get people on the dance floor. Given that, we knew the company was a safe bet. They have a vast number of DJs that work with Scratch, so it definitely is one of the better selections out there in terms of talent.

It was also important for us that we get a woman DJ since it seems like it could be a good ol' boys club of a profession and we instantly fell in love with June's sample videos - she had such an awesome energy and personality that really came through in the short clips they have online.

We only used scratch for the reception - we had a string quartet for the cocktail hour and ceremony - but the standard contract time likely would cover the entire wedding if you wanted. Scratch has this cool music match system (perfect for techy/gadget loving people or micromanagers) that could let you get specific enough to say what songs you want for each part of the wedding but can also be loose enough that you just throw a bunch of songs into a "playlist" and the DJ builds the sound from there. We had a wide age range at our wedding, skewing older in the 40-70 range with our friends being mostly in their late 20s/30s. It was a logistical challenge that DJ June navigated expertly. Looking at our wedding photos, every age range was represented on the dance floor almost the entire night. We are so happy!

Scratch Weddings, and our DJ (DJ Bounce) truly made our wedding the celebration we wanted it to be.

I had an incredibly hard time deciding on a DJ, since I wanted to be able to somehow "see them in action" to know what I was getting, so the tool that allowed me to view a video and audio clips of the available DJs was just what I needed. I also found the Music Match tool incredibly useful as well as helpful with the suggested music for different portions of the evening.

Our DJ was perfect. He kept the dance floor packed for the entire night. He did an awesome job interpreting the mood of the crowd and tailoring the music appropriately across multiple musical genres that we had indicated interest in.

People were having such a blast that we extended his time for an hour instead of heading to the hotel bar. Both DJ Bounce and Scratch Weddings were incredibly helpful in making that happen.

Our experience with Scratch was a very positive one! Jenn and Sandra were very responsive, and did a great job trying to understand our needs. And our DJ, SJ, was terrific. He was punctual and organized, and we had no worries that he'd do the right things at the right times - announcements, etc. He also spun our wedding brilliantly - he got the room up and dancing early, and kept people of all ages on the dance floor the whole night. People keep telling us our reception was a blast, and that's due in large part to the folks at Scratch. We would highly recommend them!

We had DJ Vida at our wedding this April. She and the whole scratch team were amazing to work with. I found the whole process very easy, and I loved how we could be as involved as we wanted to be in the music. The Scratch team was very responsive and really got to know what our tastes were. On the day of the wedding, we really loved DJ Vida. At the beginning of the ceremony, she helped my sister with an issue she was having with her guitar, and was so calm and collected the whole night. We LOVED the music she chose and the way she announced everything. She even stayed late when the party was still going. We loved Scratch!! Our friends had a blast and danced a ton because of the great music.

We are so glad we went with Scratch Weddings for our reception DJ! From beginning to end, they were professional, pleasant, and easy to work with. We were able to select from a few recommended DJs, all of whom had demos and videos available, and picked DJ Trife. The Music Match system was perfect because we were able to create a list of music that really reflected our tastes, and then Trife did a phenomenal job turning that into an unbelievable playlist! We told him we wanted as much dancing as possible, and the dance floor was seriously packed the entire night! Trife did an amazing job reading the crowd and our guests keep commenting on what an awesome DJ we had. We had the best time ever at our wedding and could not be happier!

I got married on December 18 at the Botanical Gardens in NY and wanted a holiday-themed wedding, so I wanted some holiday music, as well as dance music of all genres and eras. My friends, family and I are huge music lovers. When I called other DJ services, some did not respond, and those that did were a bit put off by the holiday theme or were not willing to meet or do a phone conference. The people at Scratch were amazing! Not only were they the most responsive, but they were the most thorough. I initially spoke to Kim and she explained everything so patiently over the phone, and even followed up with e-mail. Kim also set up a meeting with DJ Spawn and he was willing to sample his skills for us, which was very kind of him. He blew us away, mixing many different types of music! After we booked with Scratch, Sandra sent us to Music Match where we selected the songs we wanted, this helped us to personalize the wedding and give the DJ an idea of what we wanted.

The night of the wedding was amazing; DJ Spawn played some cheery holiday songs while we ate, but in between courses when it was time to dance, everyone was out of their seats! He played songs from our list, but also used his own judgement and it fit perfectly with our group. He was kind and professional, and had a huge smile the whole night! So many of my guests, younger and older, kept asking me about him. I am happy to recommend Scratch! They are friendly, passionate about music and responsive!

We had an outstanding experience with Scratch Weddings. The phone consultations were easy and laid-back. They took all of our suggestions into account, and they provided us with access Music Match, which was a super easy-to-use planning tool. It made planning our wedding music fun, and we loved it!

DJ Burnsi was AWESOME on our wedding day. He was professional (yet chill) and really talented. He asked my husband before the wedding, "What do you want this to be like?" My husband said, "I just want everybody to tear up the dance floor." And Burnsi made sure my husband got his wish. Everybody was dancing an having a great time almost the entire night. We were so grateful to Burnsi for his professionalism and his talent for keeping people on the dance floor. We received countless compliments about the DJ throughout the night and subsequent weeks. Scratch Weddings did a fantastic job. Our DJ, Alkaline, was amazing. He was able to integrate our multicultural selections seamlessly and was even able to facilitate my aunt singing. There is a music library that one is able to build by using itunes as a search engine which makes it that much easier. AND! there is a music manager that provides guidance as needed. Scratch was fantastic to work with. There was a family emergency with our original DJ which is entirely out of everyone's control and before they even approached me with the issue they had numerous solutions for me. It didn't even give me a chance to get stressed! DJ June came through within 3 weeks of my wedding and she was fantastic! Weeks after our wedding and we still couldn't stop talking about how much fun we had. And Scratch and specifically DJ Dan Chaves, totally made that happen! He killed it that night and read the crowds vibe all the way. The cocktail music was great. Once the dancing started after the hora (which he executed perfectly!) it never stopped. And though we didn't specify, he picked the best possible last song (Empire State) that had our mostly-out-of-town friends drunkenly hugging and crying and laughing at the same time. It was exactly the right pick for our Manhattan wedding.

Even now people ask us how we found our DJ and whether we specified each song and the order they were played because it was so good. We tell them we gave DJ Dan rough outlines for music but he brought it together to make it better than we could have imagined. Scratch was one of the few "preferred vendors" for our venue and they also came recommended by another friend who got married in NYC. They were exactly the right choice.

Excellent organization and personnel support. Online playlist and worksheets helped set expectations between us and the DJ. Our DJ Marvl edited our first dance song and a few others prior to the wedding and let us check out samples to be sure they sounded right. Blown away by the day-of performance! We could not be happier with DJ Jim Pierson!!!! He rocked the house!!!!!!!!!!!! We had an indie/ contemporary vibe while everyone ate and then went into the dance party! The dance floor was packed the whole night! We even had him for an extra few hours for an after party where he brought his talent to a whole other level. When he was spinning, I felt like I was at a club in Ibiza! He had awesome mixes, scratched and added beats that were insane. He was so great to work with and eager to please. DJ Qlassick of Scratch Weddings is fantastic! Qlassick did a great job with the few announcements we requested for our wedding reception throughout the evening. He also did excellently DJ-ing in a restaurant setting, which had a separate dance floor pavilion area. When planning our event, I thought these separate spaces for dining and dancing might be a challenge. However, DJ Qlassick's playlist transitioned seamlessly from cocktail hour to dinner to dancing. Most importantly, he was able to accommodate both our music preferences, as well as those of our families. The playlist included a mixture of jazz, hip-hop, R&B, and a variety of Caribbean music. He got everyone on the dance floor, from age 12 to 80! Many thanks to Jenn and Liz, who were very helpful during the entire planning process. We highly recommend DJ Qlassick and Scratch Weddings!

Our guests could not speak more highly of our DJ Jon Blak (Scratch weddings). He knew exactly what to play, when to play it, and at one point had to ask our guests to sit down to eat - they were partying too much! The set up/interview process with the DJ was fantastic. Scratch Weddings helped us coordinate who would be the best fit and we got to go in and listen to him 'spin' a quick set list based on our taste. That was so fun! The music at our NYC wedding was awesome...thanks to our Scratch DJ, Vida Ventura! She totally got our alternative tastes and blended them with great dance tunes from all decades to keep our guests (from ages 15 to 80) filling the dance floor. We had DJ Alkaline and he was amazing! Good energy, great transitions, played our must plays, and understood the crowd. He's Dominican, I'm half Italian and half Puerto Rican, so absolutely knew what Latin songs to play based on how everyone was enjoying the music. The Italian songs I gave him, I was very pleased with how he mixed them and his knowledge of them. As far as the correspondence prior to the wedding with the staff at Scratch was good too. Very professional and accommodating! They have my continued recommendation!

Through Scratch Weddings we were able to chose our DJ based on their credentials that were provided to us and my fiance and I knew right away who we wanted to mix at our wedding. We chose DJ Bent who used to DJ at a nightclub in Hartford where my fiance and I first met. It was definitely a sign to us that DJ Bent was the one! We filled out a music play list of our favorite songs and were able to place them in certain parts of the night where we wanted to hear them. We had a conference call with the DJ and the coordinator for Scratch Weddings and we were able to talk through our plans for the night, with introductions/entrances, dinner music and the overall vibe for how we wanted the wedding to be. This helped us get a better understanding and overall sense of relief knowing that the main part of our wedding was in good hands. DJ Bent picked up on our love for techno and up beat dance music and was very accommodating to our wants for the night. Everyone loved his style and commented numerous times on how awesome the DJ was and how they danced all night. Days following the wedding we were getting phone calls on how much fun they had at our wedding and that the music selection was outstanding! We definitely wanted a dance club feel, where everyone was up singing the songs and dancing the night away and with DJ Bent our wedding music hopes were accomplished! DJ Bent doesn't just press play and let his computer do all the work, he actually mixes music and his leads into other songs are seamless. We highly recommend not only DJ Bent for being a professional music mixer extraordinaire, but also Scratch Weddings for making it easy to find the perfect DJ and make having an awesome DJ at our wedding AFFORDABLE! :):) Thanks again guys!

Smooth and streamlined service. Communication with them was easy, and the three-way call with the DJ prior to our wedding was a nice touch. They have a program called MusicMatch that allows you to create your own playlist for the DJ to spin. Our DJ, A.K. Vybz, was phenomenal. 100% recommend.

We worked through Scratch Weddings to get DJ Dan Chaves. He is fantastic! I found Scratch Weddings to be very easy to work with. Dan was great - he listened to all of our requests and really did a wonderful job of keeping the party going.

We were thrilled with Scratch ! We loved the way the plans were laid out for how to plan our music for our wedding and how flexible everyone was. The only challenge is the musicmatch internet music selection process, but the choices and range were great! DJ Fingersmith is AMAZING! and kept the party going. Our guests said that it is the best DJd night we've ever had. Thanks DJ Fingersmith!

DJ Danga and Sandra were awesome. They were helpful, professional and able to make the entire experience easy and fun. DJ Danga was able to work with my playlist that was pretty much all over the place and make it work throughout the night. Everyone had a great time and made special mention to us that the music was great!

Scratch Weddings was a pleasure to work with from the very first inquiry to the last song of the night at our wedding! The whole team was committed from the very beginning to help us create the black-tie dance party we were dreaming of. Dana, Jen and Sandra transitioned their coverage of our event during the long planning process and never dropped the ball. DJ Dan Chaves seamlessly blended our requests with his playlist and kept the party moving from start to finish. We had a blast planning our wedding dance party with Scratch weddings! All the contacts with whom we worked (Alyssa, Sandra, and Young Rye) were responsive, professional, kind, and helpful. The Music Match app made creating our playlist super fun. Young Rye kept the dance floor packed for the duration of our wedding and did a great job reading our needs. I HIGHLY recommend using Scratch AND Young Rye if you're looking for a DJ!

DJ Alias provided the music for our wedding and he was amazing. He read the crowd perfectly and had every one dancing until the very last second. We are still hearing about our "amazing DJ and music". Everyone at Scratch was wonderful and I would ask Alias to dj again and again.

Chris from Scratch was the BEST DJ we have ever heard. He mixed it up played our favorites The crowd danced the whole night. There was never a dull moment. My parents friends were dancing all night too. He was great! Thank you so much for making our wedding so fun!

I can't say enough positive things about our experience with Scratch. From start to finish (consultation all the way to the event) everyone we worked with was extremely professional, nice (not always easy to come by throughout the planning process), down to earth, knowledgable, and cool. The MusicMatch program is exceptional- SO helpful and easy to use. The MusicMatch program helped make a very daunting task (creating playlists and choosing music) so much easier.

And finally... DJ Alias was AWESOME. I can't even count how many people have, since the wedding, specifically commented on how incredible the music, the party, the vibe, and Alias were. People of all ages and generations have made it a point to tell us what an amazing job Alias did, and how they danced through the night from start to finish. This was clear, as the dance floor was always packed (people even danced through dinner!). I have also received several requests from guests for contact info. for Scratch as they would like to recommend Alias to others for their events. We are so grateful - in our opinion, the music can make or break the night and Alias did not disappoint!! He helped to make our wedding the most fun I could have ever imagined it to be.

We loved using Scratch for our wedding. They were so professional, responsive and easy to work with. The online Music Match system they have is amazing. We chose a ton of songs that we love and we able to put them in to different categories for different parts of the night.

We used DJ Mark Gallo. He was incredible! He used the online system we set up to get a feel for the music we were going for. He played a bunch of those songs and then added a bunch that he thought were good for the mood. We barely even had a seated dinner because people were dancing from the very beginning until the very end. Even when we were supposed to shut down at 11, the whole crowd wanted a few more songs which Mark was happy to play.

The feel the of the entire night was so great. It was exactly what we wanted and had envisioned. Mark really understood this and catered the music to this. He had a great sense of feeling the crowd as well and changed the music based on what people were responding to. He didn't insert himself in to the night either, which we appreciated. He wasn't talking the entire time or trying too hard. He's just naturally really good at what he does and made the night a complete success.

We would definitely recommend Scratch and DJ Mark Gallo for any event!

I highly recommend Scratch for your wedding or party! Scratch DJ'd our wedding on November 15, 2014 on Miami Beach, and did an awesome job! DJ Mike Kruz kept the energy high and people dancing for 3 and a half hours! We danced straight - there wasn't one moment when the music got funky and people walked away. It was high energy and happy the whole night.

Even a week later, our friends and family our telling us it was the most happy, fun wedding -and dance party - that they've been too. Scratch Music made this happen.

Also, they are professional and responsive. Having worked with 10+ vendors for my wedding, it was refreshing. Scratch's professionalism gave my husband and me trust and confidence that their DJ would rock the dancing part of our wedding. Which he did!

My husband and I had a wonderful experience working with Scratch. They definitely deserve the 5/5 stars that we gave them. Sandra helped us with all the music planning and logistics leading up to the wedding and she was knowledgable with a friendly, helpful attitude that made it easy and enjoyable to work with her.

Our DJ for our wedding reception was DJ Mark Gallo who was aboslutely amazing. We told Sandra and Mark during our phone conference call prior to the wedding that we just wanted "a big party" and they absolutely delivered. Mark was energetic and excited to be there which made me relax and trust him to do his thing. His DJ skills were awesome and our dance floor was always completely filled. All of our guests had an absolute blast. Mark was very fun, professional, and had the perfect balance between being a great MC but also letting the music do the talking. We had many generations of guests at our wedding that all love to dance and he kept everyone on the dance floor with the perfect variety of music.

Working with Scratch Weddings was one of the easiest parts of my wedding planning process! They are extremely accessible and accommodating. The planning process was so simple and stress free. As if that wasn't enough, the music was FANTASTIC! Everyone at the wedding danced the entire night. DJ Tanner did an unbelievable job of reading the energy of the crowd (and age range). DJ Jon Blak was amazing! He got all the right songs for the ceremony and we never had to worry about music or audio at all. We have several tough-to-pronounce names in the bridal party and he did a great job of double-checking on all of them and pronounced them all correctly, which meant a lot to us. People kept telling us all night, "this guy is great!" The music was spot-on: he kept the party moving with great music all night. We didn't want to stop dancing! Overall, a fabulous night!

DJ Select

We had DJ Select for our wedding and he crushed it. We gave him an overwhelming playlist of 500 songs and he waded through it and picked out our favorites while throwing in some mashups and remixs later in the nite. If you are looking for a DJ who can play soul and alt rock for Dinner/ cocktali hour and then really get the party going for the dance portion, he's your guy. Our guest lingered for 30 minutes after it ended because they all wanted to keep on dancing.

The service and professionalism from Scratch Academy is amazing. They have a whole system where you can go input your songs that you like for each portion of the day so that your DJ can get a feel for what you like. It was really fun working with them, and they were an amazing price for all that we got. I would go back and use Scratch and request to work with DJ Select every time. I completely trust their judgement and we knew we had nothing to worry about. Great company.

We could not have been happier with Scratch! The simplicity of planning was amazing -- Scratch takes care of everything for you with no worries, their music system where you choose songs via iTunes was genius, and most of all, DJ Vida was magnificent. Wow. She played everything we wanted and got to know our taste enough that the other music she played was incredibly and amazingly right. She really understood us and our unique taste, and was just lovely as a person. So many friends have been upset with their DJs -- their favorite songs not played, names mispronounced, etc..,. We feel very fortunate that we had none of these problems, and that Scratch and DJ Vida were highlights our night and added to a wonderful wonderful night. Fantastic!

Scratch weddings was amazing to work with. They were responsive, have a great process to match you with the right DJ, and they made sure to follow up. DJ Rex did some great mixing on my wedding day, not just playing songs but blending them together, old and new, in cool ways that everyone could enjoy. Let's just say -- the music inspired my 83yr old great aunt to get up and dance to David Guetta's "Titanium"! Unforgettable! Thank you for a wonderful experience!

DJ Alias from Scratch DJ'd our wedding, and we could not have been happier that he was part of our day! From our calls leading up to the event to the day of, Scratch was great to work with and a great value. DJ Alias was incredibly nice and really paid attention to the style of music we wanted, creating an awesome pop/80's/motown mix that had everyone, young and old, dancing the whole night! Our guests also raved about the music, going so far as to invite DJ Alias to our after party! I highly recommend working with Scratch!

When I realized that our budget didn't allow for a band, I was a little upset, then I came across Scratch DJs and from the first phone call I could tell how professional this company was. They listened to what type of music we listened to and what our musical vision for our wedding was, and then I got to choose our DJ from a few that met our criteria. After looking at their individual webpages, I chose DJ Burnsi. We had a coordinator that communicated with me leading up until the wedding and facilitated the pre-wedding call with DJ Burnsi, where we laid out what we wanted our day to be like, musically. As soon as I signed the contract with Scratch, I was given access to a website called Music Match and I could choose any song from the entire iTunes library and add it to the specific moment or event of our wedding day and that is what the DJ worked off of for our day.
DJ Burnsi provided ceremony music, cocktail hour & dinner music and of course reception music and everything was perfect. He didn't miss a cue with the processional or recessional and he even listened to my sister's speech and played a song she mentioned. He took requests from guests and used his discretion based on our conversation of what to play and what not to play and everyone was on the dance floor all night! I could not have asked for a better DJ for our wedding!

I was very, very happy we chose to use Scratch as our DJ company. From the beginning they were very responsive and professional. They have an awesome music system called MusicMatch with allows you to create a custom music profile for every different section of the night. You input the music you would definitely like to hear (and definitely NOT like to hear) and your DJ can reference the profile to get an idea of music for your night. We chose DJ SJ as our wedding DJ. All of the specific songs we requested for things such as entrance, first dance etc were played correctly and I was really happy with how he made his announcements for each portion of the night. He was really enthusiastic when announcing our bridal party, without being overbearing or corny and it really got everyone excited for our entrance. I loved how he checked in with my husband and I throughout the night making sure we were ready to do our dances, to see if we needed more time or confirming the order of things. The dance floor was full the entire night and I know people had A LOT of fun with the music that was played (possibly too much fun...). SJ played a lot of what we had on our Music Match profile and mixed some other songs in as well. We got so many compliments on the music and people wanted to keep dancing well past our ending time. I'm so happy we chose to go with Scratch and SJ!

While researching the best music options for our wedding we realized there are 2 types of DJs: guys that put on an ipod playlist and those that have a real skill as a DJ. The latter not only comes up with a personalized list based on your desired mood and preferences, but reads the crowd during the event and adjusts accordingly. Scratch weddings (DJ Phenomenon) did exactly that! He did a great job reading the crowd and coming up with songs that we didn't even think about based on our preferences. The music was one of the best things about our wedding, and we had a full dance floor for 2 hours! We will definitely be recommending Scratch to all of our friends.

True professionals in every sense of the word. We worked with Dana to manage everything before the event and she did a great job of making planning the music as stress-free and fun as possible.

At the wedding, DJ Jon Blak was friendly, easygoing, and played awesome music to keep the party going all night. He played exactly the kind of music we wanted plus took special requests and played cool remixes. He also did an excellent job as MC throughout the evening.

We had Cincere DJ our wedding and we thought he was just going to play music and announce the usual things but he did so much more. First of all, my husband and I love music so I did a lot of research and had a good feeling this company doesn't just provide the typical cookie cutter DJ services. Prior to the wedding, I went over the music style we wanted at our nontraditional wedding and he certainly delivered. Cincere arrived early and had everything set up for our ceremony upstairs and reception downstairs. In addition to playing great music, he was basically the bouncer for the night...lol - he made sure we wrapped up taking pictures at the end of our cocktail hour when our photographer would not let us leave and had us all lined up when we needed to make our entrance. Highly recommend him and this company..he had everyone dancing all night!

Amazing! Every step of the music process was easy, well organized and everyone that I dealt with at this company was very nice and helpful. DJ Spawn was AMAZING. Weeks after our wedding we still have people talking about how great the music was. He nailed the exact vibe we were hoping to achieve. The dance floor was packed the entire night! He was so professional, and had the best attitude. When we were considering music, we were nervous to go the DJ route (as opposed to a band). As it turns out we couldn't be happier!! Our engaged friends who attended have ALL asked for his info so they can book him as well. I really hope I have the opportunity to work with DJ Spawn and Scratch Wedding again in the future. Sandra at Scratch Weddings is awesome! She was always quick to respond and very pleasant to work with. The music match system that they use is such a great tool for picking all of the songs we wanted to hear as long as the ones we didn't want to hear! I cannot even give enough credit to Spawn... he was simply the best DJ ever!!!

DJ Jaye Diggs provided the atmosphere we wanted in our wedding. From the ceremony to the last dance. Many guests told us they felt the music was one of the best they have been to in a wedding. He knew how to read the guests for which type of music to play for the dancing, since we provided a big selection. Highly recommend DJ Jaye Diggs for your wedding.

I was a bit nervous because of negative reviews I read on Scratch but DJ JB did a hell of a job!! Our guests were a mix of Hispanic and American crowd. He did a good job of mixing merengue, bachata, and salsa with Blues, R&B, and Rock. He was professional, attentive, and kept everyone dancing all night. He was really good at reading the crowd. We received many compliments on him and you can tell from all the dancing our guests did. He was also in charge of the ceremony music and microphone which he also handled well. The music data base they use is pretty cool and easy to use. If we did not find a song we wanted, we just emailed him the info. If we could plan our wedding all over again, we would definitely call Scratch and ask for JB!

We had DJ Alkaline do our ceremony and reception. We had a lot of very specific things we wanted to have him do and he was on point with everything. Our guests referred to the music as having been perfect. I had people tell me they have never been to a wedding where the dance floor was jumping the entire night (Literally jumping). We asked him to play everything from Hip Hop to Spanish and even Cabo Verdean msuiz, which no one knows about, and he did a great job with that too. Jennifer and Sandra were great leading up to the wedding. We were happy we chose Scratch. No regrets.

DJ Trife from Scratch Weddings was amazing. He really listened to our suggestions for music and the atmosphere we wanted for our reception. He had a great feel for the crowd during the dancing and set the tone for the whole night. All of our guests loved the music and many of them were asking who our DJ was (some even took pictures with him!). We highly recommend DJ Trife to anyone who is looking for a DJ in the New York area. We hired DJ Stef Nava from Scratch Weddings to spin at our dinner and reception. From the get go, working with Dana and Amishi from Scratch, everything was very professional and timely. They immediately set up a phone interview for us with DJ Stef and we knew it was a good match. They send you an easy to use Music Match system which allows you to input your "must plays", "do not plays", "first dances", etc. A few days before the wedding, we had a conference call just to go over everything! The day of, she was set up as she was supposed to be, dressed very nicely, and spun exactly what we wanted! She had our guests on the dance floor all night, just as we had requested! Everything was amazing! I would highly recommend this company and DJ Stef Nava!
