We Love Scratch!
My husband and I love Scratch cupcakes, so we decided to order cupcakes and a cutting cake from them for our big day. Our Scratch Cupcakes were probably the biggest hit of our wedding. Half of them were gone before we even had our "cake cutting". We opted to provide to-go boxes in case people wanted to take theirs for later to the hotel room, which was a good call. We decided to do 7 different flavors, and it was no issue at all! Scratch even delivered an hour away directly to the venue for only $70. The only bummer is that there's not an easy way to try some of the off the wall flavors, as they bake the same flavors week to week and in order to try a new flavor you would have to order two dozen. We chose five different flavors for the wedding and they were great! Presentation was perfect for the wedding and looked great on the cake table. All the guests raved about the cupcakes and on how tasty they were. We opted to do wedding cupcakes in lieu of a cake. My husband graduated from UNI and became a convert to Scratch while living in Cedar Falls. When a Coralville location opened we were among the first customers and have been regulars ever since. We ordered cupcakes for our wedding from Scratch Cupcakery in Iowa City. They were very easy to work with and dropped off our cupcakes and put them on display for us. We live in Cedar Falls, but the wedding was in Des Moines (college kid problems). We went into the Cedar Falls store, and while they couldn't offer a tasting, they were extremely helpful. One of the ladies spent a good 20 minutes just talking flavors and colors and possibilities with me. When my dad and I went to the West Des Moines store to order the cupcakes, they already knew who we were!! You can tell that there is a lot of communication between stores, which is really helpful if you're long distance planning. We ordered a bunch of minis which were great since we had so many flavors! They also sell really cool wooden forks for really cheap! Make sure to buy the cupcakes using their cupcake card because you'll get points! If you want something done with the frosting or the sprinkles or a certain flavor, ASK! Most of the time they can accommodate you! They're delicious and affordable! -

Scratch does not turn wedding orders away and I'm so happy for that! These cupcakes are the best. Everyone loved them. Scratch was so easy to work with. I placed the order over the phone and you can either pick them up the day of or have them deliver them for you for a small fee. Absolutely Awesome!!!!!! People are still talking about how wonderful the cupcakes were. We ordered all Wedding Day and had them decorated in two different neutral colors with both silver and gold balls on top. They were very elegant. I was worried that the bride and groom (OK, obssessed) needed to "cut" a wedding cake and finally my daughter put her foot down and told me that they were going to just share a cupcake. Ok, it was wonderful to watch them share the cupcake and didn't even miss the whole cake cutting thing. Definately recommend!!Absolutely Awesome!!!!!! While the cupcakes tasted and looked amazing, the delivery person arrived OVER 1 hr late.....to my wedding! To make matters worse, she never responded to my or my personal attendant's phone calls wondering about her whereabouts...we didnt hear of the delay until she was already 55 minutes late, and she finally decided to use her cell phone to call and let us know she was runing late.....unprofessional, rude, and a real good way to ruin a bride's day! The quality of the cupcakes is lack luster at best expect a soggy lumpy poorly flavored mess if you get one. Along with that if you're looking for a drink don't bother with the smoothies, unless you want a watered down flavorless fruit drink.
