Beautiful venue! I couldn’t have dreamed of a better venue for my wedding! Every part of the property is breathtaking! You don’t need to decorate much because the architecture speaks for itself. They are very easy to communicate with and are very professional. I highly recommend this venue for a wedding of any size! -

We had both our ceremony and reception at Scarritt Bennett Center. The architecture is stunning and made for gorgeous pictures, and the intimate setting in the chapel and dining hall made for a sweet time for the guests to connect and get to know each other. The dressing rooms were spacious and perfect for getting ready with the wedding party, and having everything at one location made logistics a breeze. The food was delicious too. A good time was had by all! -

Highly Recommend, Great Vendors and Planner
We booked an intimate wedding package at Scarritt Bennett Center and we were so happy with decision. We worked with Meg as our day of coordinator, and her team and vendors were so amazing to work with. They were highly responsive and helped us feel stress-free about all the details. The grounds and architecture are incredibly beautiful and made for spectacular photos and memories.
Originally, we’d booked the Labyrinth Garden for our ceremony, but had a last minute change due to weather and decided to move to the Wightman Chapel since it was not previously booked. Meg’s foresight was so greatly appreciated and helped ease my worry about the comfort of our guests.
We loved that the intimate wedding package included so much with the booking, such as florals, the officiant, seating, and live streaming of our wedding for friends and family back home. As I mentioned, all the vendors were great to work with and very trustworthy. I highly recommend booking your wedding with Scarritt Bennett Center.Scarritt Bennett's reply:

Scarritt Bennett was the perfect venue for my wedding! They were so accommodating and easy to work with! Meg especially was wonderful! The church is stunning! They provided a list of vendors that were excellent- I ended up using a coordinator, florist, and musician that they recommended and everything turned out amazing!(photos from @abbybekahphoto) -

Absolutely stunning!
My daughter knew she wanted a church wedding but finding a church that LOOKED like a church was tricky in Nashville. Most churches require membership to use their sanctuary for a wedding. When we went in to Wightman Chapel, we knew we had found exactly what we had been searching for. Having lived in Scotland for a few years, we had fallen in love with the old world architecture, and this felt like coming home. We used both the piano and the pipe organ for the ceremony and both were lovely and just perfect. And we were told by many who came that it was one of the most beautiful weddings they had ever seen. It truly was and the pictures inside and out were incredible! We could not have found a more perfect place for their wedding.
Meg Muckey and her crew were amazing to work with, and paid attention to every detail from beginning to end. The rooms for the bridal party were spacious with plenty of natural light for makeup and just down the hall from the chapel. We had both a light brunch and the rehearsal dinner on the premises and they were nice. All in all I cannot recommend Scarritt Bennett and Wightman Chapel highly enough! -

Beautiful venue and great professionalism
We got married on August 15, 2020, and had both our ceremony and reception at Scarritt Bennett Center. We worked with Meg, the wedding coordinator, on ways to make the wedding safer for guests amid the pandemic. She worked with the chef to completely redo the menu we had decided on to make a more socially distanced reception with less shared food and individualized packages. OUtside of pandemic re-planning, they also had volunteers on the day-of helping show people to the reception and other admin tasks. We chose this venue because of the amazing buildings and landscape, but I would also choose it again because of the helpfulness of the staff and volunteers. -

How can you beat a venue as perfect and beautiful as Wightman Chapel for a small or large wedding??? I think the pictures speak for themselves. The outdoor stone archways make for beautiful and timeless photographs, even if it happens to rain on your wedding day! It was sunny the day we got married but it was nice to know that I could still get those outdoor photos even on a wet day.
Meg, Scarritt Bennett's wedding coordinator, was awesome to work with. We got married on July 18 after having to postpone our March 28 wedding due to Covid. Meg was very quick to respond to emails which was so important to us due to the unknowns regarding the phased re-opening of Nashville.

Growing up, my grandmother was a florist. I used to love helping her on the weekends with taking her flowers to the different venues around Nashville. Having seen all of the beautiful places this city has to offer, Scarritt Bennett has been my dream wedding venue since I was a little girl. When I got engaged, I knew I had to make my dream a reality. And once I booked the venue, my expectations continued to be exceeded! The staff is incredibly friendly, super responsive to email, and very accommodating. I could not recommend this venue more!Scarritt Bennett's reply:

Having my wedding at the Wightman Chapel made all of my dreams come true! I had been dreaming of a classic, traditional wedding in a large church all of my life and my sister found this chapel and I immediately fell in love with it. Nicole went above and beyond and was so helpful & kind and was able to answer all of the questions I had since I was planning from afar (literally counted the pews for me!) Outstanding Venue for Wedding Ceremony
Working with Scarritt Bennett Center/Wightman Chapel for our daughter’s wedding was an absolute delight. Nicole was amazing and provided outstanding customer service. The Scarritt Bennett Center truly is a special place. I knew I wanted to be married there before my fiancé proposed to me. I had always wanted a church wedding and did not love the fake vibes I got at a lot of wedding venues. This place is historic and naturally lovely, has lots of parking in downtown Nashville for all of your guests, and even provides a dining hall with a fully staffed catering team so that guests can walk next door for the reception (this is what we did). Nicole, the wedding coordinator, was nothing but professional and helped me with every detail during the months leading up to the wedding. I also hired her to coordinate the day of and everything wend flawlessly.
The only downside of this place is that it is pricey, especially if you are having your reception there because you can only use their catering. I paid $25 per head for heavy hors d'oeuvres. Having a classy wedding that was not in your typical venue was completely worth it to me though, and we saved money on flowers because the church essentially requires no decoration! I am so glad that I chose this place to get married and it will always hold a special place in my heart.Scarritt Bennett's reply:

Scarritt Bennett's Wightman Chapel Wedding had been my dream since pinterest was ever a thing. Nicole is who I worked with and she was simply amazing. She was quick to respond, very informative, and very personable. We were able to have wedding bridal portraits done the week of the wedding and it was flawless. We had access to the bridal suite to get ready in for the shot and had access to wherever we wanted to take pictures. Rehearsal Dinner went very smoothly. You have an hour to rehearse and really thats all you need. Day of the wedding I would say went very smoothly and of course beautiful. Nicole helped me, as the bride, to go where I was suppose to go and she had great words of encouragement throughout the day. It down poured rain right after our ceremony and Nicole helped us in so many ways to get to our transportation dry. We are also able to come back and have our "rain check" photos with my husband since we were unable to take photos of just us the day of. Overall, the experience was amazing and I would recommend anyone having their wedding here.Scarritt Bennett's reply:

My daughter was married at the Wightman Chapel. It was just gorgeous. Scarritt Bennett's coordinator, Nicole was very prompt and professional in her communications. She was on hand for the rehearsal and the day of the wedding making sure we had everything that we needed.
The chapel itself is so beautiful that it accentuated the beauty of the music and the ceremony. It was the perfect choice for my daughter's wedding.Scarritt Bennett's reply:

User1494823 Sent on 01/04/2014So pleased to have had my wedding here. No regrets at all. Sally was so easy to work with. Wightman Chapel is absolutely stunning; the prettiest place to get married in Nashville. With it as the backdrop, my pictures turned out so beautiful. Do make sure you have a good photographer, as the lighting indoors can be tricky. The Saturday I got married here, the temps reached the highest in TN history. But you wouldn't know it being indoors. In the dressing rooms and in the chapel, it was kept nice and cool for us. If you do want a lot of time to decorate for your wedding and not ever feel rushed or worried for time, this wouldn't be the spot for you. Weddings occur Friday night, 2 on Saturdays, and 1 on Sundays. You have a four hour window for decorating, getting ready, pictures, ceremony, and clean up. Everyone and everything had to be out within four hours. (The good news is, a lot of decorating doesn't have to be done because the place itself is beautiful.) You also have to accommodate to the rehearsal time given to you. For a Saturday wedding, if you have the afternoon wedding, I believe rehearsal time was 2-3 Friday, with the Saturday night wedding rehearsal being right after that. There's not any flexibility, but this was not a problem for us. There are several other rules you have to follow, but again, none of them were issues for us. At first you may think some of the rules are ridiculous, but once you're going through the process and realizing how many weddings they have there, you start to see why several of these rules have to be in place. Because it is such a popular place to get married, if you're interested in this place to be your wedding venue, be sure to call and check what availability there is asap; it fills up very fast. Very, very pleased with my Scarritt Bennett experience. Not one thing I would change about it, even if I could. -

Megan Sent on 03/28/2011The chapel is georgous and doesn't need many added flowers/decorations. Pipe organ sounds wonderful! Downsides, we were not allowed in the chapel until 2 hours prior to ceremony time so we had to set up flowers, pictures, organ, etc. in a very short time period and you must purchase their food/drinks which are very expensive. Overall, it made for a BEAUTIFUL ceremony! -

SBC and Wightman Chapel specifically are stunning! My wedding turned out beautifully!! The staff was very helpful and kind! There were some issues due to COVID-19 that changed our wedding plans and Scarritt was unwilling to refund. Unfortunately, they have a very strict contract and were inflexible about ANY changes. However, we ended up having a much smaller version of our wedding and it was lovely. The space is worth the cost even when you have a small pandemic sized wedding! -
