The Best There Is!
Truly the best photographers I could have dreamed of working with! They captured our dream day in photos and when I look through the album, I feel like I am reliving every moment. They were great to work with on everything from setting up the initial meeting, engagement photos and wedding day. Incredibly professional and the quality of the work they produce is exquisite! I am very type A and was worried about details being missed but they didn't miss a single one. Anytime my ring was crooked, or my necklace latch was showing they fixed it before I could even be concerned. If you are looking for a photographer, look no further they are worth every cent! -

I can’t express our pleased we are with our decision to have SB & Photography be apart of our special day. They captured memories that we will treasure for the rest of our lives. On the day of our wedding, they made me (and all of our guests) feel so at ease with their professionalism and kindness. They truly felt like family on the day of our wedding & we will be using them for all of our future photography needs. Josh and Sheryl were absolutely amazing. Brody and I could not have picked a better photography group. From the initial consultation to the week of meeting and day of events we could not ask for anything more. On our wedding day, Josh and Cheryl arrived promptly to our bridal and groom suites. From the start their attention to detail and flexibility with our crazy group was incredible. Despite our tardiness to start our photos and get to the venue Josh and Cheryl still managed to capture all the photos we wanted. Both Sheryl and Josh did an amazing job conducting our photos, helping pose us, and ensured we got candid shots. Without this direction we would have felt unstructured and lost. They captured the energy and emotion of our family, wedding party, and friends. By coming prepared with a list of requested photos both photographers made sure we got the family and friends shots we wanted after the ceremony and at the reception. We did a speed song which Sheryl suggested where we took a picture with each table during a song. Sheryl and Josh coordinated with our DJ on this and it was so fun and it was nice to get a photo with each guest! We chose to do our first dance outside on Veterans Terrace and they were able to accommodate this with amazing lighting during. The photographers stayed for some reception shots as well and it was so great to see photos from throughout the evening. Overall, our photos turned out amazing. The quality of photos and candid shots is truly incredible. Our wedding day was captured perfectly and we could not be more thankful for Josh and Sheryl. The SB Photography group was such a great fit for us and provided exceptional service, from communication to presentation we cannot thank them enough!! Brody and I would highly recommend their services for any event or wedding! -

Sb Photography is the KEY to a perfect wedding day!
We had such an amazing experience with Sb Photography in August 2021 for our wedding! From engagement photos all the way through our wedding events, Sb Photography was so responsive and professional. They helped us along the way whenever we needed it. The week of our wedding, Adam informed us our second photographer would not be able to attend due to a family emergency. Adam came to shoot our wedding himself AND added on a third photographer for free to capture our day. My husband and I were so grateful we went with such a professional photography business as family emergencies can happen to anyone at anytime, but Sb Photography had a solution for us right away. Adam, Kirsten, and Kara were all SO wonderful on our wedding day. They made everyone feel comfortable, were efficient yet paid attention to detail, and most importantly - were so fun to work with and had great energy. They really were the backbone of our wedding day - Kirsten even had drinks ordered for us and ready to go once our ceremony ended :)
We need to give a special shout out to Kara: Kara shot our engagement photos in August 2020 and we fell in love with her energy and her photos right away! She then shot our wedding a year later and we couldn't have imagined our day without her! From helping with hair touch ups, feeding me snacks before the ceremony started, to capturing all our special moments so beautifully and creatively, she went above and beyond our expectations. She really pours her heart and soul into every photo shoot she does and was so present throughout our wedding day. She sent us some sneak peeks the day after our wedding which was so appreciated! She is so passionate about what she does and SO talented! You need Kara with you on your wedding day!! -

SB Photo & Design: We booked SB Photo & Design early in our wedding planning. During a pandemic and with so many unknowns; SB Photo & Design stuck with us throughout the ups/downs. They were very communicative and helpful. The day of our wedding was stressful and went by quickly, there is no doubt in my mind that Matt & Jessica captured our special day. Matt and Jessica sprung into action on wedding day, fixing my dress, suggesting locations (when one of ours fell through due to construction), and attending to our needs. We forgot to do the family combo list the day of; our head photographer Matt sprung into action and helped with that. We just got the sneak peak and are in love! The photos are clear, vibrant and capture emotions perfectly. Do I recommend SB Photo & Design? YES -

I am so happy I hired SB Photography for my wedding. Due to covid we had to reschedule multiple times, and they were so accommodating and flexible. From the moment I met Adam I knew I wanted him to be my photographer. He is so professional, and puts you at ease immediately upon meeting him. We also had Molly and Kirsten, seriously amazing girls! Our day ran behind schedule by 2 hours (my fault not theirs). Adam, Molly and Kirsten didn't bat an eye, they went with the flow and never rushed me, which I am so grateful for. I stressed about every aspect of the day except when it came to them, because I knew they had this in the bag. Amazingly awesome people! 10 out of 10 would recommend! Make sure to request Adam, Molly and Kirsten for your big day. You will not regret that choice! Thanks for making me feel beautiful!

SB has been amazing to work with! We cannot say enough good things about Sheryl and her team, especially Matt and Molly who were our wedding day photographers. They were so much fun to work with and the work they showcase proves it! You can tell that they genuinely LOVE what they do. As part of out photography package we also had an engagement session with Matt. We know that photography isn't something to go super cheap on and we maybe paid more than some couples, but the quality that comes with the price tag has been well worth it. If we had to do this over again, we'd pick SB! This team of photographers are amazing and go above and beyond with their clients! They have blogs/posts on their website with all sorts of tips and tricks and just so much information that answers all your questions (even ones not related to photography)! I was having trouble trying to put a timeline together (they have sample timelines too!) so I emailed them and in less than 24 hours I had a response from one of the photographers (miracle workers more like it) and my timeline was pretty much set from that point. We've only gotten our sneak peek back so far and LOVED those photos. It makes us that much more excited to get back all our photos. We will definitely be using SB for future photo sessions! -

Sheryl and Ben were by far the best to work with! We haven’t received our sneak peek yet but the pics they showed us the day off, were unbelievable!! The Perfect Photographer!!
We are SO happy we went with SB Photography & specifically with Matt! Before there was a pandemic, we fell in love with Matt at our first meeting and felt confident he would do an excellent job capturing our day. We were incredibly comfortable with moving forward. With so much uncertainty as things played out, we never once had to worry if we could depend on Matt or if the company/he would be flexible because even we didn’t know what our day would look like until it was only a week or two out. On the day of our event, everyone (which was our close friends & family) raved about how well he did and this continued with how impressed we all were with the pictures! We don’t want anyone but SB Photography taking our pictures for years to come!! -

We had Matt and Kara as the photographers for our wedding, and they were incredible!! Definitely the best vendors we had for our wedding, and we could not be happier with our photos. They made sure to get our must-have photos while also coming up with super creative ideas for poses and backgrounds. Our bridal party had so much fun with them throughout the day. They got our sneak preview to us fast, and the rest of the photographs in about six weeks. SB Photography and Design as a company is amazingly thorough answering so many wedding planning questions through their website. They were always very prompt with all their communication. We highly recommend them to everyone!! -

Fun and Professional
We had our engagement and wedding photos done by SB Photography. For the wedding, we filled out a questionnaire beforehand to let our photographers know exactly what we wanted. After submitting the questionnaire, we had a phone conversation with the photographers to go over any questions or requests we had. We kept in contact about the timeline of the day of to make sure we had time to get pictures, and where we would be getting our after ceremony pictures taken. Jessica and Josh were very professional, and very fun. My husband had a great time before the ceremony getting his and the groomsmen pictures done with Josh. Josh was very personable, and helped keep the atmosphere relaxed. We ended up with tons of pictures, from before, during and after the ceremony. However, I do wish I could have gotten more with my bridesmaids, as my husband had several taken with his groomsmen. Even some of our guests said they liked the photographers for how fun they were to work with. -

SB Photography was amazing to work with, so easy to talk to and run ideas through. Will and Katie were photographers for my wedding and oh my gosh they were so much fun! They were so easy to shoot for and made sure to get all the shots we wanted. They even did some cool Photoshop pictures of Star Wars and Harry Potter for us! I am such a huge picture person so this was very important to me. They definitely exceeded my expectations!
This company has decent pricing that doesn't break the bank and will travel! I highly highly recommend!! -

Wonderful images!!
During wedding planning, I did the most research on venues (for cost effectiveness) and photographers. It was very important to my husband and I that our wedding day be captured for years to reflect back on. As soon as I reached out to sb Photography and Design, I knew I wanted to work with them. They were on top of communication, and provided lots of resources to us during the planning process. They thought of things we otherwise wouldn't have, and ensured we got every shot we wanted. We particularly love that we were able to share the photos with friends and family for no additional charge! Sheryl shot our engagement photos and Adam took the lead on our wedding photos. We love the images they were able to capture, and are grateful they were so patient with us. -

The website is beyond phenomenal, and lists all the things you'll ever want answered in planning a wedding. Our photographers were Sheryl and Ben!! Both were absolutely amazing. We worked with Sheryl since day one, she did our engagement photos as well as our wedding. She made us feel comfortable while she was taking photos of us as well as feeling comfortable opening up to her on what we liked and what did not like. I (the bride) can sometimes be a little controlling and Sheryl was amazing with following all of my lists and checking all of my boxes, but she also help push me out of my comfort zone and those are some of my favorite photos!
We hadn’t met Ben until the day of our wedding and truthfully could not imagine our wedding without him. We enjoyed working with him so much, he has an amazing energy and personality. All of the groomsmen loved working with Ben. I would highly recommend SB photo to anyone! -

I'm honestly not one to write many reviews, but if these guys don't deserve a good review, then nothing does! We worked with Taylor and Xavier, and they were just incredible. They were energetic, professional, and they had such great creativity, eye for detail, and yet kept everything moving efficiently. The chemistry they had was great, yet they both brought their own unique qualities to the shots.
On the back end, their communication, the editing, the website, everything was perfect in regards to the support staff as well.
When we got our photos back, which was in very timely fashion of course, my new wife was speechless. Literally, brought to tears on multiple occasions while looking through them at different times. They made her feel so beautiful (she is, of course), but also they really surprised us with how present they were at every moment. So many encounters with friends and family were caught on film when we didn't even know they were near by, and of course they just made for so many amazingly candid shots.
We cannot express how thankful we are that they were our photographers. We never felt at any point like just another customer. It was more like we had friends there with photography skills!

o.m.g. Absolutely the best!
Hands down, without a doubt, can't be beaten! I believe that choosing the right photographer is the most important wedding vendor decision you can make. When the big day is in the past and the beautiful memories start to fade, your photos will become priceless. Everyone was soooo impressed with SB Photography and Design the day of my daughter's wedding. They're extremely professional, efficient, and highly organized.... all while being VERY PERSONABLE AND SUPER FUN! They truly were prepared for anything and ran the timeline of the entire day flawlessly. They took the stress out of everything, really! I have worked for 35+ years in the creative industry, several as a photographer myself, so I was very picky about choosing a photographer for my daughter's wedding. But SB's creativity, skills, energy, and honest transparency are nothing short of admirable. AND VERY REASONABLY PRICED, TRULY A VALUE THAT JUST CAN'T BE MATCHED. I just can't recommend them highly enough! -

Professionalism and Enthusiasm
These are the two best defining words that are S&B Photography. They are just as excited and happy to be there as you are, making sure all the photo sessions go by so smoothly. They take extra care making sure they didn't miss a pose or shot that you wanted taken. By printing out my now wife's Pinterest's posts, they were able to fulfill all of our preferences and come up with different ideas we had not thought of. Always keeping a smile and making sure we do the same, we couldn't have asked for a better service on our wonderful, and perfect day. - 10/10 -

Where do I even start?! I was so worried about finding an amazing photography company because I had a friend who paid so much for a photographer and they did a horrible job. They have such an important job capturing memories on a day that can never be done again.
When I found SB Photography, I liked the information on their website and Sheryl was so friendly and knowledgeable. We liked that they offered an engagement shoot with our package. I would recommend making sure to have that- we were so glad we did! We loved working with Will! And we got to work with Sheryl, who was so fun and helpful too! She even helped keep our dog, who was unusually spunky, under control while we were taking pictures. They made us feel comfortable, which was not an easy feat for people who don't like to be the center of attention and are not used to professional pictures. We had low expectations for the engagement pictures due to this, but they turned out so amazing!
Sheryl's organization and attention to detail blew me away. In addition to all the information on their website, they had created a worksheet for us to fill out regarding our wants during the wedding. What a great idea! Then, I had a consultation with her on the phone and she had so many great ideas for activities during the reception. She helped me organize a timeline, which was so valuable! It calmed me down so much to be so organized. I can't thank her enough!
I'll never forget the day of the wedding. Will and Katie got there on time and began working immediately. They had an emergency kit with everything you could need (and we did utilize this).
We had so much fun working with Katie and Will. They were amazing sports, working with us in the rain getting amazing pictures and staying on time. I pictured us standing around not sure about what poses to do, but they had so many great ideas, and when they showed us a couple, we were so excited! We have been waiting anxiously to see how they turn out!
We got a sneak peek of photos after a couple weeks and are sooo excited to see more! I know they are going to be gorgeous! I write this review without even seeing our final pictures, because I have total confidence that we are going to LOVE them. We hope to see them again, and can't say thank you enough for capturing our special day and being a part of our precious memories!
So much value in SB Photography! We recommend them hands down! -

I created an account just ro share this review because everyone needs to know how wonderful they are!
I spoke with quite a few photographers before talking to Sheryl at SB Photography, but after our one phone call I knew none of the other options measured up. I couldn’t be happier with my decision to hire them for my wedding day (which was May 11, 2019). If you’re considering a wedding photographer do yourself a favor and give this incredible company a call.
SB Photography has more than fair pricing, the team is incredibly knowledgeable, and our photographers worked hard to make sure they captured every detail (even asked us weeks prior to the wedding to make notes of what we wanted and referred to them all night as to not miss anything important to us). Not to mention, they’re friendly, responsive, and very easy to work with!
We had the pleasure of working with Adam and Kara on our wedding day. What an amazing team they are!! My husband hates pictures and even he had a good time because Adam and Kara were just so fun and easy to get along with! They kept us laughing, making sure the wedding party was having a good time, and even though they were by our side all night capturing every detail they never seemed to be in the way. Their professionalism was incredible as well, because even though they felt like friends of ours by the end of the night they stayed on task and made sure they captured everything.
I’d say they went above and beyond for us, but I truly think they are this incredible for every couple. I’ll never forget Kara sprinting across the driveway of the venue with her equipment flailing behind her to capture my little cousins doing something cute. Seeing how important every single detail was to them was incredible.
I also let Kara know before the wedding started that I had a lot of anxiety and her and Adam both reassured me all night that everything was on time, running smoothly, and I could just take a breath.
They were more than just photographers. They are truly wedding experts. Prior to the ceremony there was a bit of a hold up and I was panicked because I didn’t know what was going on. I asked Kara to look into it for me. She kindly asked my family members to find their seats (per my request), figured out why things were delayed, and calmly relayed the details to me. She had such a positive attitude and it really helped me get through the pre-ceremony jitters.
Both Adam and Kara will hold a special place in our hearts forever, as they were such a huge part of making the day perfect. From hyping me up allll day and making me feel like an absolute queen to squealing over sunset pictures, we had the best time with them. Thank you SB Photography for all your hard work!
To all the brides out there - hiring SB Photography is the right choice. I promise! -

We love working with SB Photography!
Finding a photographer made me very nervous but as soon as we found SB Photography, it has been smooth sailing! We loved that they offer a package that included both the engagement photos and wedding photos. We had to reschedule twice due to the weather and they were always very understanding and accommodating. Taylor and Xavier were awesome (totally recommend two photographers - even for engagement photos)! They were VERY friendly people and SUPER fun to work with! Our photos were back to us in a week and I couldn't believe how fast the turnaround was. We cannot be more happy with the result of our engagement photos & we are SO excited to see them again and have them do our wedding photos in August!!! :) -

Hope Sent on 09/20/2018Since I know a lot of people getting hitched soon. I can not express how awesome sb Photography was. First of all we got an amazing freaking deal. Second they walked us through the entire process. Sheryl and I had many phone calls and texts to make sure the day would run as smoothly as possible. She pretty much helped me make my timeline. When we first booked they sent us a thank you card and stuff to make s’mores. The day of my photographers Matt and Taylor arrived early and started working right away. They we professional. Did everything we asked and more. Taylor even had booby pins, and had a safety pin when one our our flower girls had a dress mishap. During our wedding they showed us a few pictures here and there which was awesome! Then on our 1 month anniversary we received over 1,200 edited photos. Each and every one they took time to edit. They gave us a website with all photos to download for free for us and our guests. Not only that but they are sending a flash drive for us to keep to. I could probably go on and on how amazing our experience was but here’s some of our photos and I think that is proof enough how amazing there. -

Adam and Matt traveled to Chicago from Wisconsin for our wedding. They were very attentive and so professional! Every shot was absolutely beautiful! They were also so organized! Matt spent most of the day with the groomsmen, while Adam didn’t miss a beat with all the hustle and bustle of my bride squad getting ready! It was so fun to see the amazing candid moments he was able to capture!
They made everything so stress free and easy! We were truly sad to see them leave at the end of the day. Their pictures are amazing....and their personalities are even better!!
On top of that, when you receive the link to your photos (we had ours back in less than 5 weeks) they are available for instant (free) download in full resolution!! You seriously can’t go wrong with booking this company for ANY event where you hope to capture every beautiful moment!

Our package included an engagement photo session which was so helpful in order to meet the photographers who would shoot our wedding day. We hit it off right away and you could tell how comfortable we felt in our engagement photos. Once we received the engagement photos (very quick turn around FYI), we knew we had struck gold! Our photographers were Matt and Taylor and they were amazing! Not only were they funny and patient but they were so creative and came up with the BEST ideas for shots. They were also kind enough to provide 2 photos the day after our wedding to post to our social media accounts and I cannot believe how amazing they look. We look forward to seeing all the photos and would recommend SB to any bride looking to have breathing-taking photos!

Sheryl was so quick to respond to every question I had with the upmost kindness and professionalism, and reached out to me when she need to to make sure everything would go the way I wanted. Both photographers were just magical in knowing when/where/how to get the perfect shots. The most amazing thing I rave about their service is that not only did I end up with flawless photos of myself and my husband, our bridal parties and families, we also got TONS of pictures of our guests both with and without us in them, posed and candid. This didn’t take at all away from the classic wedding pictures as we got more than enough of those, but having all these other pictures documenting ourselves and our guests throughout the night is something I’ve never seen done before to this level - and I’ve been to a lot of weddings!! On top of that, they give you all the digital copies without watermark so you can do whatever you please with them on social media, email to guests, print, etc. This increased the value by a million in my mind - and the price was already unbeatable!! We will cherish SB and our photos forever!!!

We hit it off with Matt from the start when he photographed our friends' wedding, and we knew he would be fantastic- but we were even more excited when we met Erin! Matt and Erin paid so much attention to detail, went along with all of our goofy ideas and bought in to all of our crazy whims while taking pictures! We received so many compliments from our guests about how professional, kind, attentive, and creative Matt and Erin were. They were able to capture all of our special moments without being "in your face" or intrusive. Now that we have gotten our pictures back, we are beyond impressed with how beautiful they are. Matt and Erin just really understood us and were able to capture each moment as we imagined it. We can't give them a higher recommendation and really hope that you will choose SB Photography!

We had Sheryl and Steve for our day and they went above and beyond! Sheryl printed my Pinterest page to make sure we got our must have photos, we did sunset shots and night shots. Our guests raved about how attentive our photographers were and how they never saw them not taking photos! I recommend them

I have never dealt with a better photography team than them, they are absolutely amazing to work with. Sheryl was always prompt in responding to any and all questions and seriously felt like she was my wedding planner too with how much she helped me with our wedding timeline, it was so helpful! Also the fact that they take so much time to get to know you and your family and friends. Their attention to detail before the wedding and getting a questionnaire and list of much have photos was incredible and let us relax and enjoy the wedding because we had confidence in knowing they would capture every moment, and they absolutely did! Our wedding photos were returned to us so quickly, every image is perfection and we are going to have such a hard time picking which ones to get printed. She was even patient with my parent's fearful dog when she was shooting pre-ceremony pictures and even included the pup in some. My husband and I couldn't have been happier with the result. Sheryl and Matt were able to breathe light and life into the images they took and perfectly captured the overall feel of the event. We found out that every package guarantees that the lead photographer will be either Sheryl or Adam, and that Sheryl is actually from my home town, which we are getting married in. They were very professional and brought books and photos to show us. If you have a pinterest photography board, they print the whole thing off to make sure you get the shots you want. We booked them immediately and can't wait for them to shoot our wedding. -

The whole experience working with this company was great from the start. They made the planning portion super easy and very straightforward. Everyone we spoke with was nice and very professional. We were paired with two photographers, Kelsea and Will. They were both excellent on the day of our wedding. They made everyone feel at ease and their personalities were a perfect fit with ours. They both had a great sense of humor and were more than willing to take some of the silly photos we requested, but they also had a great eye for the more candid moments as well. We have so many fantastic photos from our wedding day, it's going to be really hard to choose which ones we want to print.

A similar story to many others - contracted with SB over a year before the wedding (June 23 for a Sept 24 wedding). The setup was great. We knew that we wouldn't need a lot of details until closer to the day, but as stuff came up during the year, mainly trying to make a basic schedule with the caterer, and I tried to ask questions, I would get no response. After many many unanswered emails, nearly a year after booking them, I reached out on Facebook and got response. No questions were actually answered at that time. At a month from the wedding, I messaged again to schedule a planning meeting which we did do. During that meeting, we asked what a REALISTIC timeline was for post wedding, and they said they were all caught up and we'd have our previews 2 weeks after and photos 2 months after.
Day of, the photographers were great and had all the info we'd given SB during the setup meeting. Couldn't have been happier on the actual day.
Post-wedding, I gave SB a month before reaching out to ask about previews (for thanks yous and Christmas cards). About six weeks after the wedding, after a few unanswered texts, I received a text saying that they were trying to have pictures to us by the end of that week. This is the last correspondence I received from them until another six weeks later in December when we received all of our photos, which were admittedly great.
All that being said, as friendly as SB was and as great as the photos ended up being, the lack of communication was frustrating and anxiety-inducing (we had some family photographers on stand by just in case), we never received previews (despite our gallery having a preview folder) or the flash drive with all the photos (went ahead and backed them up on an external drive), and the blatant dancing around our questions about the post-wedding timeline was insulting. If we'd been told we wouldn't get previews I wouldn't have pestered. If we have been told it'll take an extra month, we would have understood, but half truths were the way of it.
Did everything turn out all right? Yes, but the stress made the process almost not worth it. -

My husband and I booked SB Photography for our wedding photos and we could not have been more excited to work with them given their rave reviews and photographer portfolios. We 100% enjoyed working with our two photographers, Xavier and Taylor, and we would book those two again in a heartbeat. They are talented, passionate about their work, professional and personable, and the perfect people to have shooting your wedding and engagement session. Many of our wedding guests loved Xavier and Taylor and wanted to book them to shoot their own events coming up in 2023. We recently received our photos from them and we can attest that the photos are perfect and Xavier and Taylor really have an eye for weddings.
What we had a LOT of difficulty with was communication with SB's owners, Adam and Sheryl. From them we got little to no communication and when we asked for a follow up or clarity on something we had to reach out multiple times and then we were hit with a massive multiple-paragraph email about how overworked and busy they are and they took on too many clients this year and were going through a life crisis. I am empathetic to someone going through a lot, but at the end of the day our relationship with SB is defined by the contract for the services we booked with them to help us plan our wedding and we did not feel it was fair for them to be oversharing personal information weaponized to make us feel guilty for reaching out to confirm our must have photos, the timeline for the day, and when we will be getting our pictures after 12 weeks of waiting. In our experiences with SB's owners it became clear that we were being told (1) our wedding was not a priority to them and communicating with them about our wedding was a hassle and (2) that we should feel guilty about reaching out about the services we signed a contract for and paid for. These conversations were the nail in the coffin for us and overall killed our experience with SB and left a very sour taste in my mouth. In reviewing our vendors I have given everyone else 5 stars but I simply can't do that for SB. Our wedding day went very smoothly and we were lucky to have support and other great vendors and Xavier and Taylor to make it that way, but SB was such a massive source of stress for me from booking through finally receiving our wedding pictures this week that when we finally got our pictures from them I was able to let out a massive sigh of relief and let go of the tension and stress that had built for so long. I am grateful that experience is over and I no longer need to reach out multiple times to eventually receive those intense emails from SB.
As a note: I wish Xavier and Taylor nothing but the best in the future and I hope our paths cross with them someday in the future. They truly take the most magical photos. -

We booked SB 9 months before our wedding, paying in full. In the early stages of booking the owners seemed boastful and wordy about all the ways they “go above and beyond” for clients, which at the time seemed nice, but odd in hindsight.
Over the next several months the few times we asked questions about photo stop suggestions between ceremony and reception locations, and recommended ceremony start time given our contract, return communication from SB was spotty at best. My husband and I would send the exact same email/message three times and sometimes wouldn’t hear back. We’d often wait a few weeks for a response before trying again.
When we were less than 1 month from our wedding date, they sent us the photography questionnaire–which we expected– and then were told for the first time to schedule a final consult on top of it. When we tried to secure this meeting time, it took them literally one week to respond to the various date / time options we kept sending. So at just 11-14 days out from the wedding, we were actively searching for backup photographers in our area in case SB backed out. They did come through with the meeting 10 days before our wedding.
The photographers they sent out for the wedding arrived prior to the scheduled contract time and were very polite, calming and professional. They were a great fit for our family and party, which was a pleasant surprise.
6 weeks after the wedding we inquired about our sneak peeks, promised in contract but not yet received. We were guilt tripped and essentially had to beg to receive them after 8 weeks. One owner was telling us very personal irrelevant details, and how difficult Covid has been on them (during fall 2023). They kept bragging about how they go the extra mile for clients, doing things no other photographers do, and how they “shouldn’t be so nice.” We were told we’d receive our full photo order within 1 week of the sneak peeks, but we did not. We left SB alone for about a month then started attempting contact again.
4 months after the wedding, every couple days, my husband and I tried texting, calling, leaving voicemails, emailing and Facebook messaging, to no avail. We considered stopping at their business in person to inquire, but upon online searches found 3 different addresses for SB, unable to distinguish which one was current. Three weeks after trying to reconnect we finally got a response back from the other owner via Facebook messenger. They took no responsibility for failing to deliver our full photos by the time they had promised, or how long all our other attempts at communication went unanswered. We got our full photo package exactly 5 months after our wedding date.
All things considered I am happy with the amount and quality of our photos, and the photographers who were sent on the wedding day. They captured a lot of really important moments and groupings of family, friends and wedding party. It was a little disappointing that there were so few posed shots of our family units (only 2 of my immediate family of 22 people), and some posed pictures were awkwardly spaced or poorly lit/edited. There were a ton of photos of guests but not as many of my husband and I as I might expect. That being said, we definitely have a lot of very nice quality photos to choose from.
However, I am extremely dissatisfied with SB’s customer service, communication experience with the owners both before and after the wedding, and would not recommend SB to any engaged couples, much less continue to use their photography services again ourselves in the future.
