We had a destination wedding in Hilton Head, so we were not familiar with many vendors from that area. Our venue recommended Betsy, and we could not be more pleased with her services. She met with us for coffee a few months before our ceremony. The fact that she took the time to do that showed that she really cared about us and being a part of our special day. Betsy is so genuine and kind, she really felt like family from the moment we met her.
In regards to our ceremony, I can't even begin to describe how beautiful it was. She made sure to make it custom to us and our relationship. We are still getting compliments from guests, even weeks after our wedding. You HAVE to use Betsy. I promise you will not be disappointed! -

Earlier this year, I started looking for an officiant to conduct a vow renewal. I am not from the area, so I did some research on the internet and came upon Betsy. I knew from the moment I read her profile, I wanted her to conduct our renewal. She is extremely responsive and such a pleasure to work with. Several months prior to the renewal, she sent me a questionnaire to complete. After I sent her the completed questionnaire, she wrote the most beautiful vows. Betsy arrived to our location early and spoke with us for a few minutes before the renewal. Everything was amazing. Her husband came and took some pictures too, which was a nice surprise. Betsy is upbeat and very passionate about what she does. We would not hesitate to recommend or use Betsy in the future. We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful renewal. -

I can't say enough about Betsy. From start to finish she is not only the utmost professional but she is an absolute delight to work with. Every detail is taken into consideration with care and love to craft a personal unique experience to fit. We are an older couple and this was a second marriage for both of us and had a few requests that were a bit different about our ceremony. She easily accommodated us and helped to make our vision a reality. She set the tone for the whole event that flowed into the rest of the evening. Her words and the way that she lovingly guides the ceremony are exceptional. There were tears and laughter from all attending and I would say that this was the best part of the day. And that is saying a lot because our wedding was PERFECT. I've just watched the video of the ceremony and it was better than I could ever have imagined. -

If you are looking for a warm, professional, dedicated officiant, look no further. We wanted someone joyful and comfortable to marry us on our special day. Betsy was everything and more. She will always hold a special place in our hearts. Betsy was responsive from the beginning and clearly explained options for the ceremony. We worked together to refine the ceremony that was right for us and what Betsy wrote was truly beautiful and I will keep a copy of the ceremony words forever. Betsy checked in leading up to the ceremony day and told us just what to expect. We also got to sit with Betsy and her husband to get to know each other better before the wedding month! On our special day in June, Betsy helped us with the paperwork so it was clear, easy, and fast. We love that her husband joined her and captured some of the first photos we saw of the ceremony! Betsy and Bill are a special pair. Betsy sent a sweet email right after the wedding to congratulate us, share photos, and assure us our marriage papers had been safely mailed off. A vow renewal we both termed as "perfect"

The perfect fit
Betsy is absolutely incredible! I was so overwhelmed when looking for an officiant, especially eloping from another state, and her talent and expertise were apparent throughout the planning process and on the day of our ceremony.
After our initial call, all of my questions were answered and she went above and beyond to help me prepare! She was warm-hearted, genuine , and very knowledgeable. She has the most beautiful, calming voice and it really helped put us at peace. She was so easy to work with, so responsive, and so helpful. She even thought to include a moment during the ceremony to remember my grandfather who had passed away recently and it was just so special to me. I believe it was fate that I chose Betsy Peterson on Wedding Wire for our Hilton Head SC wedding. Betsy is very upbeat and pleasant and responsive! To get to know the couple, she sends 2 forms for each of you to fill out. Betsy can perform different services, ie traditional, spiritual, etc. We wanted a sunrise spiritual ceremony. Betsy made suggestions. I wanted two Native American prayer/blessings included in the ceremony. Betsy wrote the first draft, we edited it , and got the ceremony to exactly how we wanted it!
We included a sand ceremony, where I purchased 3 vases and different color sand ( one for each of us) using colors for our living room, and the third vase was from the sand from the beach at the Sonesta Beach Resort, where the sunrise ceremony was held. We poured the sands all together into one vase representing the blending of our lives with the sand from Hilton Head, where we were married, and this vase will go into a lighthouse decor. We live on the water in Southwest Florida. We will be reminded daily of our wonderful experience of our wedding on July 8, 3023 and think of Betsy and our family and friends!
Betsy suggested the Sonesta Beach Resort, which is beautiful and elegant. I also wanted a place to have breakfast immediately following the service. Betsy stated that the Seacrest restaurant right there coming off the beach was very good. I made a 7 am reservation for family, friends, Betsy, her husband, Bill, to join us immediately following the service! I could not have asked for anything more PERFECT!
They have a buffet breakfast or you can order off the menu.
Betsy is a delight and made our special day a dream come true! If I had to rate Betsy..I would give her a 20 out of 10!
If you want an AMAZING wedding, I highly recommend Betsy Peterson.
Everything was Not only beautiful but perfect , it was breathtaking!
We all enjoyed our breakfast and chatting with Betsy and her wonderful husband Bill.
It was s nice ending to a beautiful morning!

Hiring Betsy to be a part of our intimate destination wedding on Hilton Head Island was by far one of the best decisions! Coming from Michigan we had never visited Hilton Head before & I am SO glad we decided to get married here because it allowed us to meet Betsy & her wonderful husband, Bill!
From the initial phone call, it wasn't even 10 minutes in I put it on mute and looked at my now husband and said "We are booking her, she is amazing!"
The phone call alone gave us so much confidence in getting married in a place we never had gone before! And we knew our ceremony was going to be perfect with Betsy on board.
Betsy not only helps you with what you are paying her for, getting married, obviously! But she is packed with knowledge, recommendations & truly just a wonderful human! She sent us several recommendations, checked in with us leading up to the big day and made this entire process so seamless.
On the wedding day it felt like we were reuniting with a friend we haven't seen for a long time! Never meeting prior or hosting a rehearsal the day before, she was just as she was on the phone.
Sweet, warm, loving & just a wonderful person & energy to be around.
And we cannot forget how incredible her husband Bill was for bringing their personal tripod, helping set it up so we could stream our ceremony for loved ones back home that could not attend.
Betsy & Bill, truly are quite the pair! And we are so grateful to have met both!

Officiants are one of the pieces to the puzzle that can often be missed or overlooked. And I am SO glad we did not miss Betsy.

Betsy did such an amazing job at our ceremony. Our whole wedding was baffled that we didn't know her beforehand because it seemed like we had written her words for her! She really did write it like she already knew us, which is crazy because we only ever talked over email! We didn't have a religious ceremony and she never forced any kind of topics on us, she has such a special gift in connecting and reading people. She even took her time on our family members names to really make sure she pronounced them right. And her husband, Bill, was an awesome added bonus! (I won't ruin the surprise if he happens to come to your wedding too ;)) I would definitely recommend using her if you really wanted someone you know to marry you but don't want to put that extra burden on a loved one. Betsy knows her stuff! -

Best of the Best!
We could write a book to describe how wonderful Betsy and her husband Bill were to renew our vows. We randomly (and at the last minute) googled officiants in HH and we sure hit the jackpot! Betsy was fantastic from the initial interaction by phone until saying goodbye after our renewal. Honestly, we didn't want to say goodbye. We felt like her and her husband Bill became our family in just a short timeframe. Both Betsy and Bill made us feel so comfortable in every aspect. Betsy's vow renewal she wrote was so special and hit every mark. We wouldn't have changed anything about it. Bill's photography skills were spectacular. He made taking pictures so enjoyable. We can't say enough great things about this duo. We could continue to go on, but, don't think there is enough room to write everything we could. Besty was the most flexible, helpful, compassionate person we could have had help with our wedding. She worked with us as our date had to change to 11 days sooner than expected, and we were planning this to happen within a month of contact! Blessed to be have a wedding officiated by Mrs Peterson
December 15, 2021 - A day we will always cherish. As all wedding are, ours were late too and Mrs Peterson completely understood that. We were not rushed and the ceremony was performed with much grace. Truly Mrs Peterson was able to catch everything me & my husband are. The ceremony told how we met and where we were now and hearing that from a 3rd person we really understood how everything was meant to be. Me & my husband could not have made a better choice with Mrs Peterson and her husband. We had a small budget and they made sure we were fine with everything. And they even did our wedding pictures for no cost. We cannot thank Mr & Mrs Peterson enough. -

Betsy truly has a gift and we are so fortunate to have found her…she listens and gets to know you, and writes the ceremony based on your preferences. She made amazing suggestions, such as incorporating a sand ceremony, to unite our blended family. She was responsive and helped with all the small details as well, including helping us figure out the process for the marriage license being out of state.

Wonderful Officiant
Betsy was a blessing to find! I originally was going to have a close friend be our officiant, but then realized I had no idea what a ceremony entailed or how to write it myself. I wanted someone unique who would also bring tradition to the ceremony, but open to making it ours. That is 100% what Betsy did for us. We got to meet her in Hilton Head & get to know her a month before the wedding, which was so sweet to do if you have time & want to meet before the day of! She gave us perfect "simple traditional, but modern" vows, & I sent her readings I wanted included. She was always quick to respond via email & text. What can we say about Betsy... SWEET, SWEET, SWEET!!! Betsy was such a pleasure to work with! She was kind, attentive, and engaging. I found Betsy Peterson by googling wedding pastors in Hilton Head. She had amazing reviews but we all know that those reviews can sometimes be fake - the reviews were 100% REAL and accurate!
From the very beginning of our communications back and forth she was very responsive - even on weekends! We are not from SC but she made sure we knew the entire process for both getting the marriage license and costs, but also what she brought to the table. We had a small, family only wedding and we did not need a DJ. However, her husband Bill Peterson was masterful on the piano and also brought a speaker for the ceremony music and First Dance. He was excellent on the piano, has a welcoming personality, and was a truly wonderful addition!!
Betsy was wonderful at our wedding at Wexford Country Club. She also, little did we know, a great singer! On time, pleasant to work with, knowledgeable, are a few of the many words to describe her.
A+++ all around for both Betsy and Bill!
I highly recommend anyone in need of an Officiant or pianist/Jack of all Trades for their services!

Amazing Experience
Both Betsy and Bill exceeded our expectations! We’re from Michigan and decided to renew our vows for our 10 year anniversary on the beach in Hilton Head Island. Betsy was very helpful throughout the process via phone and email. She recommended different beach locations to chose from as well as restaurants and other things to do in the area. Both Betsy and Bill were very good and patient with our young children (9,7,5) during the ceremony and our picture session. I highly recommend Betsy to officiate your ceremony! -

Amazing from Beginning to End!
Betsy is truly amazing and can easily put you at ease from the moment you speak with her. She emphasized throughout our planning process that this was our ceremony and we would work together to ensure it aligned with our vision.
This was our second marriage and it was important to us to include our four kids. She worked with us to create a ceremony that balanced love, family and even a few laughs as we committed ourselves to one another on a beautiful beach in Sea Pines. Betsy is an adorable lady!
Betsy and Bill (her husband) were so nice with us. Due to coronavirus crisis, it was not easy to organize a perfect wedding ceremony as we wished, but Betsy could do it! I live in Canada and my husband live in the States; thus, it was difficult to plan everything as much as we could prior to the wedding day.
To organize our big day, Betsy helped us a lot. We kept in touch each other by email and by phone for a few months to exchange our ideas. Betsy and her husband did a great job for us. Absolutely amazing
Betsy and Bill were phenomenal! Our original plans were to have an intimate ceremony on the beach in Dauphin Island but Hurricane Sally made sure that wasn’t going to happen. I frantically searched google on Sunday the 19th looking for someone who could perform our ceremony on Wednesday the 23rd. Betsy called me almost immediately and a few days later we were able to have our ceremony with myself, my husband and our 3 children. Bill took AMAZING photos and Betsy was just perfect for our ceremony. Both were fantastic with our children. I fully believe everything happens for a reason and I don’t think a ceremony on Dauphin Island with someone else could’ve ever compared to what we got instead on Hilton Head with Betsy and Bill. 10/10 recommend!!! -

I am forever grateful
I found Betsy on Wedding Wire and was drawn to reviews repeatedly stating that Betsy provided an unmatched, personalized wedding service. When I reached out to Betsy in hopes of finding the perfect person to officiant our destination wedding, I was blown away. Betsy took the time to not only offer her services, but get to know my husband and I as a couple. We even briefly met up as we came to tour venues! Unfortunately, our original wedding date was postponed due to COVID, and Betsy was more than easy to work with on rescheduling. Our new wedding ceremony and reception was far more than I could ever imagine. Betsy wrote an incredibly heartfelt, and touching ceremony. I received so many compliments after the ceremony asking where I found such a great officiant. September 20, 2020 was the greatest day of my life and Betsy played a huge role in that. My ceremony is something that we will cherish as a couple forever. I cannot recommend Betsy Peterson, and Say "I Do" Hilton Head Weddings, enough. -
