Delicious food, great service!

The second we completed our tasting at Savoir Fare, we knew we had to hire them for our big day. The food is simply delicious and blew us away! My family owned restaurants previously and have worked in the wedding catering industry, so we are not easy to please and good food was a top priority for us. The food on the wedding day was just as great as it was at the tasting, and our guests all had clean plates. Lyndse was so great to work with and made the entire process so easy. She even was able to get me additional rental items THE WEEK of my wedding when I had a last minute change of heart. Everyone at Savoir Fare was amazing to work with and we are so grateful to have worked with them for our wedding. If good food is a priority for you, you have to hire Savoir Fare.

Made our vision a reality

Saviour Fare accommodated our requests for Mediterranean family style dinner and they nailed it despite this being a new venture for them. We had about 200 guests at my family home and everyone raved about the food. They were lovely to work with, very responsive and also accommodated my gluten free diet. I highly recommend Joan and her team!

Hands-on quality service - excellent food - great Coordinator

Lyndse handled our food and was also our Wedding Coordinator. She was not only professional, but her personality is ideal for her occupation in handling every tiny detail to make my wedding a memorable experience. I had some special requests and am a foodie as well (and cook) so her accommodating us was so important. I highly recommend having Lyndse handle your wedding and Savoir Fare's food/catering services so you can trust all will go off without a hitch. Clean plate club

The food was delicious and our guests are still talking about their meal 3 weeks later. We chose a shared plate which enable our guests to sample everything. It was wonderful and everyone cleared their plates.

Wonderful food, great experience

Savoir Faire worked with us to create a wonderful wedding. Circumstances made us greatly revise the plan for guest count and reception type. They were quick to work with us to create a menu for a cocktail reception and staff it accordingly. The food was great and the bar tended masterfully.

Delicious Wedding Food

From our wedding tasting to our final bite of leftovers, we were nothing short of impressed with the high quality and delicious food. We wanted a specialty item that was not provided during the tasting and our appetizer chicken and waffles far exceeded our expectations. We are sad we didn't have more leftovers but could not have imagined better food on our wedding day.

Outstanding food and customer service!

Savior Fare—specifically Lyndse—was truly the best vendor to work with for our wedding this past June. From our initial tasting, through the entire planning process, the change in plans due to COVID-19, and finally their food and service for our small wedding ceremony, SF was amazing.
First off, Savior Fare and Lyndse’s customer service is impeccable. When we initially reached out to get quotes and set up a tasting, Lyndse was polite, professional, and timely. Throughout the planning process she was so easy to work with in updating our menu, sorting out needed rentals, planning for additional guests and then subsequently planning for a significant drop in headcount.

When news of COVID-19 and it’s impact on our wedding and the entire events industry first started, we reached out to Lyndse and she immediately began working with us and the several iterations of how our wedding day would end up. We went from cancelling, to delaying it a year, to what we ultimately were able to arrange (a small family wedding ceremony with brunch after) and Lynde happily worked with each one of our changes and even held our one-year anniversary date for us so that we can have the reception of our dreams next year. She and the Savior Fare team was so flexible and easy to work with—it made planning and re-planning a wedding during a pandemic significantly less stressful.

While their customer service was terrific, Savior Fare’s food was phenomenal. We were completely blown away with the quality and freshness of the food at our initial tasting and had such a difficult time narrowing down what we wanted to serve at our wedding. When we changed plans to move from dinner service at our full wedding to a brunch, we ended up selecting spinach gruyere dip on pita round, mini cinnamon rolls with icing for hors d'oeuvres and then with a Caesar salad, Chicken & waffles with bourbon bacon butter & maple syrup as a main course. Everything was absolutely delicious and our family raved about how great everything tasted. We can’t wait to taste our originally planned menu at our one-year anniversary reception next year!

Great and super helpful!!!

We had Savoir Fare cater my small COVID- friendly wedding on June 6th and they were AMAZING! We had originally booked them for our larger weeding which we decided to cancel; they were so helpful and flexible with the wedding planning/ changing process. They were so organized and the food was delicious. I would definitely recommend them to anyone have a wedding large or small they do a fantastic job!!

My guests are STILL talking about the food

Lyndse and her team at Savoir Fare not only had the most exceptional service, but the food was exceptional. The servers and bartenders created moments with my guests to make them feel special and taken care of. Lyndse herself walked through all the different rental plans with me and kept me calm the entire time. She is exceptional! I seriously can't imagine going with any other caterer!

Savoir Fare Limited Catering was AMAZING! The catering staff was helpful and organized, transitions between appetizers, dinner, and dessert were seamless, and the food was delicious. Amazing food and SO many great options

This caterer was used exclusively by our venue, but they did not disappoint. The tasting itself was magnificent and while we were too busy during cocktail hour to try most of the appetizers, our guests raved about them. Oddly enough, one of the favorite items was the salad we chose with our dinner options, everyone loved it! Some of the most surprising items (rustic chicken) was one of our favorites. The day of the wedding, the food was perfect and timely. Their staff were very professional and experienced. I would certainly hire them again for a private event.

Delicious Food!

We hired Savoir Faire through Bluemont Vineyard and they were absolutely fantastic. Our tasting was delicious and there were so many great dishes to pick from. For our appetizers we selected: bacon wrapped scallops, ahi tuna tacos, smoked salmon on fried wantons, and bruschetta. For dinner there were fresh baked rolls then the most delicious salad with amazing white balsamic vinaigrette dressing. The main course was served family style (which our guests loved) and was a choice of either grilled chicken breast with tomato and avocado salsa or beef tenderloin. All of the food came out hot and there was plenty for all of our guests to have seconds. Everyone commented that the food was the best they have ever had at a wedding! We could not have been happier!

Phenomenal service, presentation, and TASTE

Savoir Fare delivered in all aspects. Wedding planning can be tough at times, but our trial with Savoir Fare was AMAZING. Delicious, Easy, Organized

We were thrilled with Savoir Faire. Lydnse took great care of us from start to finish. We emailed and called her many times to update our rental design, food options, bar, etc. Every detail was covered and our wedding day was perfect. Everything arrived as expected. The appetizers and main dishes were excellent. Many people complimented our food options and the catering. We opted for the buffet. Wedding food is always cold. Theirs was actually hot! Several people told us the food was outstanding and the best food they have had at a wedding in quite some time. We agreed with the assessment. From the professional service staff, to the professional planning experience leading up to and on the day of the wedding to the quality of the food, everything went perfectly. Delicious food and great service

They were amazing! Joan was open to our suggestions to make the wedding day our own. Our guests raved about the food!!! The staff was so good about making sure my husband and I were offered food while we were doing pictures. They even had hors d’oeuvres waiting for us at our sweetheart table to be sure we got some. Delicious food!

Savior Faire was the caterer who works with our venue- Bluemont Vineyard. The food was delicious. So many our guests told us how good everything was. They were also able to accommodate our needs, including our children who have severe food allergies. The staff was very professional and courteous.

WOW!!!!! Food is a risky thing when it comes to weddings. You have so many concerns that it won't turn out quite right. With Savoir Fare, every single detail was perfect. The pre-wedding communication was SO accommodating and professional, the tasting gave us a really good idea of what they could do and what we wanted, and everything possible to make us happy was done. The appetizers and dinner was DELICIOUS!!!! Guests were raving about it!! We will absolutely be using them again for the rest of our family events, no need to look anywhere else. I had our wedding at Bluemont and we were required to use this caterer. It probably cost a littler more than others I would have picked but well worth it! I didn't have to shop around and the food was on point! My only issue was not getting all of it at the wedding and missing out on this some of the amazing spread! We went with family style and everyone loved it. The tasting was also fun and delicious. I highly recommend this farm to table caterer!

Savior Fare catered my wedding in June at Tranquility Farm and I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about them! As we planned our wedding we heard it said that good food is one of the things that people really remember at weddings, and we were not disappointed. Savoir Fare crafted a culinary experience for our wedding. From the appetizers to the macaroni and cheese the food was amazing. The cuts of meat were top notch, the salad dressings were all homemade, and the desserts were decadent. When we picked our food at our tasting we had a hard time narrowing down our options, as everything was fabulous and the quality of food was just as good the day of the wedding, as the day of the tasting. On top of the great dining, the wait staff were amazing. The were courteous, professional, and a lot of fun. When my husband and I didn’t get to eat our dinner right away, they took the plates and replaced them with fresh food to make sure we got ourselves a hot meal on our wedding day. They prioritized our experience, as well as making sure the event went smoothly. We were very impressed, and highly recommend these guys! Hire them if you can!

From our tasting all the way to the day of the wedding working with Joan and her daughter was incredible! When you go to the tasting be prepared to eat! This was easily my dad and husband's favorite part of the entire wedding process. Joan also made the tasting enjoyable and we loved getting to know her. She has established a very high reputation in the wedding industry and I can now see why! One of her wait staff members on our wedding day took the time to come over to us during the cocktail hour while we were out taking pictures to let us try our passed horduerves! I have also never been to a wedding where I've heard so much positive talk about the food! People made a point to tell us the salad we served was the best salad they've ever had! Savoir Fare was the designated caterer at our September wedding at Bluemont Vineyards, and we couldn't have been more pleased! One point of hesitancy for us when booking with Bluemont was not being able to taste the caterer's food before signing (Savoir Faire used to have a restaurant in Round Hill - which we would have visited to overcome this hesitancy - but they have now decided to focus solely on catering). Food is a big deal for my husband and his family, and he wanted it to be a key part of our wedding reception. However, based on the excellent reviews and the sample menus of Savoir Fare (and Bluemont's exceptional venue), we decided to book with them. A few weeks later, we had our food tasting with Joan Wolford. Come hungry to this! Between the four salads, table full (literally) of appetizers, and ~8 entrees, you will not leave hungry. Plus, whatever you don’t eat, you get to take home with you! They also allowed us to add two extra people to the tasting (you do have to pay for this, but it's factored into your bill with Bluemont), as we wanted both sets of parents to join us and only four people are able to come to the tasting for free. Savoir Fare also accommodated special requests and small alterations to the standard courses. My husband requested paprika on top of the potatoes and 50/50 splits of a couple of the appetizers because there were too many good ones to choose from. Finally, on the day of the wedding, the execution of the meal and appetizers was excellent, and we received many positive comments from our guests throughout the night and afterward. Thank you to Joan and the staff at Savoir Fare for making our wedding so delicious!

Wow! What can we say? Joan and her professional staff made our daughter and son-in-law's wedding celebration "THE BEST DAY EVER"!!! We are still on "cloud 9" about our experience! Every detail of our vision was met to a "T" From the pre-ceremony champagne Kir Royal bellini's to the raw oyster bar to our special request of "tear drop" grapes and fresh figs on the charcuterie display, nothing was missed!! Our guests are still gushing about how AMAZING and AMPLE the food was. The 'icing on the cake" were the late evening snacks! Thank you for everything! No wonder Savoir Fair was voted "Best in Loudoun" for 3 years in a row! Highly recommend!!

Now that we have returned from our honeymoon and are starting hear feedback from our wedding, the constant theme has been how AMAZING the food was. Everyone said it was the best wedding food they have ever had and I honestly have to agree. Before the wedding, so my of my friends warned that I would barely eat anything on my wedding day bc of nerves/excitement, etc. Well, they were WRONG. Once that mac and cheese and fried chicken was in front of me, I certainly ate my share.

In addition to the food, the Savoir Fare team was amazing. Everyone felt so well taken care of and the staff also seemed to be enjoying themselves! They were such a nice group of people! I loved chatting with the bartenders throughout the night- they took such good care of my husband and I.

Throughout the planning process and the actual wedding, I had such a wonderful experience with everyone at Savoir Fare. Joan was so responsive and creative and made the whole planing process a breeze. The food and wonderful staff truly made the wedding special.

We got married at the Bluemont Vineyard, so Savoir Fare was only choice as a caterer. That made us a little nervous at first but honestly, the second we walked in for our tasting every concern went away. Joan is the real deal. Once we knew how amazing they were, not having to worry about a different vendor and not doing multiple taste tests was a blessing in disguise.

As you have probably seen from every other review, the food at our reception was just as amazing as theirs. The bacon-wrapped scallops were a huge hit at the cocktail hour.

Whether Savoir Fare is your only choice or if you seek them out, then rest assured that the food will be absolutely incredible.

We had our wedding planned out perfectly: 90 guests with the ceremony outside, then the reception at a barn that was far enough away that the caterer could set up and do their thing and be ready by the time the guests walked over for cocktail hour to start. And then...it rained. And was 55 degrees. So after a quick change of plans, we had the ceremony at the reception site and to the credit of the Savoir Fare, I did not hear one plate or glass or cooking apparatus the whole time, and despite having to cook in a much smaller space that wasn't heated, the food came out fast and delicious and cooked wonderfully. My husband and I had a glass of champagne waiting for us beside a plate of appetizers that the servers kept refilling (Seriously, this bride and groom ATE on their wedding day). The food was simple but delicious (which is what we wanted, as we got married in a barn and didn't want to overdo it on the frills), and the bartenders made the 2 signature drinks that we came up with perfectly. I appreciate their flexibility, and they were a great rate. Also the food tasting and sitting down with Joan was really fun and oh my goodness intensely filling. A great choice!!

I had such a fantastic experience using Savoir Fare as my caterer. They served us for both our rehearsal dinner and the reception, and were amazing for both. I had a pretty strict budget to follow, and Joan was willing to work with me to figure out what we could do to fit that number and still give our guests truly delicious food. We used Savoir Fare itself as the venue for the rehearsal dinner, and it was perfect—it felt intimate, but had enough room for our very large group. I got compliments on both the food and the location. Most importantly, when we were accidentally over-charged, Joan herself contacted me to let me know about the mistake and pay us back.
For the wedding itself, not only was the food amazing, but so was the staff. I know it is traditional for the bride to go hungry, but they would not allow this. Several waitstaff came out to where formal portraits were being taken to bring my family hors d’ouvres. One waitress held a napkin under my chin (since I was holding my bouquet) so I could have the chance to eat between pictures. The bartenders all cheered when my new husband and I walked into room at the end of the aisle where they were. When we walked into our honeymoon suite, someone had put two pieces of the cake and glasses of champagne in there for us. There are probably a hundred other little examples of how they went out of their way to make sure they provided us with the best experience possible—I wouldn’t have noticed if they hadn’t done these things, but I certainly noticed and was blown away that they did.
All in all, I couldn’t be more thrilled with Savoir Fare. It’s obvious that Joan truly wants to make your wedding day special, not just make money off you. I highly recommend her amazing business.

We were not prepared for how much food we were going to eat on our tasting day with Joan at Savior Faire, and we were certainly not prepared to have such a hard decision in front of us. Every dish was delicious! Could we just have one of everything at our wedding??

Joan was extremely personable and helped us pick appetizers and main course options that would all go well together and fit in our budget. She coordinated with us and the staff at Bluemont Vineyard seamlessly and everything went off without a hitch. On the day of, the food was served family style and every one loved it. We had BBQ brisket and rustic chicken, and it couldn’t have been better. More than one guest remarked “This is great, it doesn’t taste like wedding food!” Hopefully, we’ll be able to make a trip out to the restaurant again soon!

Savoir Fare catered my parents' 50th wedding anniversary several years ago. I didn't recall this until we stopped by for the tasting and everything seemed so familiar. The food and service the provided for my parent's event was amazing, so I knew that our wedding would be too. And it was.

This is the exclusive caterer for Bluemont Vineyard. We did mason jar deserts and a photo-op cake, but we are actually disappointed that we didn't order a bigger cake because the cake was so delicious (we hoarded the cake and took it home to eat).

My guests, husband, and I were absolutely BLOWN AWAY by the food Joan, Lyndse, and the Savoir Fare provided for our wedding reception! We had a very tight budget so we wanted to go fairly simple and they just killed it! From the appetizers to the main course stations, Savoir Fare's food was awe-inspiring. They brought in elements from my and my husband's p;aces of origin and made just incredible dishes that people are STILL talking about months later. I am SO glad we had so many leftovers - I was able to enjoy the meal over and over again. They were flexible and understanding to our needs, worked with us every step of the way, and really just made our big day stress free. I didn't have to worry about my friends and family feeling like we were short changing them by not offering a sit-down meal. Also, they understood the craziness that is the day of the wedding and were so considerate in making sure my husband and I had food even though we were running around like crazy people at the reception. They made stations GOURMET! I am SO grateful for them!

Provided wonderful tasting at their restaurant, and food received many compliments at our wedding at Bluemont. Wish we would have been hungrier but at least we had time to eat! They were very accommodating, we requested squash soup shooters and they were able to provide them!

I cannot say enough good things about Savoir Fare and Joan. I am so glad we chose them for our wedding last month. First, Joan was a delight to work with and very patient. Our tasting was amazing and we got to try so much food and when my fiance and i were debating about which entrees to choose afterwards, she let us come back in to try and compare again. She helped me with coordinating all my rentals with the rental company as well. I got tons of compliments on the food at the wedding and the presentation and set up they did was outstanding. There were little details they added that I didn't even know about that went above and beyond. The plating of the duet plate was lovely and they added a little flower to every plate as a garnish, it was a fall wedding and the serving trays had lovely little pumpkins on them, it was all these little details that they added that kept surprising me throughout the evening - with 200 guests it was no small feat. Beyond the amazing food and great service was what truly saved my wedding, one of our buses was an hour late to pick up guests for the ceremony and we were going to have to cut everything short but thanks to Joan and her amazing staff's flexibility, they let us start everything late - which was a really blessing. I am forever grateful that they worked with us and let us start and end our reception late, they could have very easily said no or slapped us with an overtime fee but instead they made me one very happy bride!!

Their food is truly amazing! We didn't really have a choice in the food vendor but were told they had really great food - we figured yeah, sure, of course they tell you that. In this case, it really is true. We went for the tasting with my parents and ate more food than we could've ever dreamed of - my dad fell so in love with their food that he wanted to come back to the restaurant for Father's Day. Everyone at our wedding raved about it - it isn't just wedding food, it's really that good.

My fiancé and I were a little concerned when we learned that the venue we selected worked exclusively with Savior Fare. However, any concerns we had melted away after tasting their food! They offered a wide variety of menu options and all the food was so fresh and delicious. Definitely not your typical wedding food. I also loved that they offered family-style entrees and sides. The food the day of our wedding was as delicious and fresh as it was at the tasting. We received so many compliments from our guests. I also appreciated the care that the staff took to ensure that there was no cross contamination for our guests with food allergies. We were so pleased with Savior Fare's service and quality and I would recommend them to any friend getting married in the area.

My husband and I were married at Bluemont Vineyard, which has an exclusive catering contract with Savoir Fare Ltd. If you are thinking about booking with Bluemont, but are nervous about not having a choice of caterers--don't worry! The food at Savoir Faire is absolutely delicious! Prior to our tasting, we looked at the menu and emailed Joan with the choices we were interested in trying. On the day of, she prepared all of the things we wanted to try, as well as other options. There were a ton of hors d'oeuvres to try, 3 salad options, and several etrees (vegetarian and non-vegetarian). Go to the tasting hungry, because you will eat a ton of food! They will also box up your left-overs to take home. Joan was flexible and responsive to us, and happily made little changes here and there to suit our taste. For example, we wanted a white fish option instead of the salmon that was on the Savoir Fare menu, so Joan prepared local rockfish for our wedding instead. My husband really enjoyed his fish, and I loved the bbq beef brisket! Months later, we are still getting compliments from our guests about the food. Savoir Fare is amazing--you will not be disappointed!

The food was absolutely delicious. People were raving about it all night. This is the exclusive caterer for our venue (Bluemont Vineyard) so we were a bit concerned as we really had no choice but to use them. Our food tasting session immediately and permanently eliminated those concerns. The chef has real talent and every single thing was delicious. We rolled ourselves out of the food tasting knowing we were going to be very happy and we were.

I was assisting a friend with day-of-coordinating at a wedding in Leesburg, VA, where Savoir Fare was the caterer. The staff was helpful and all of the guests were raving about the food. I knew immediately that I wanted to book them for my wedding. I scheduled a tasting with the owner/chef, Joan. She had us taste SO many different hors d'oeuvres, salads, and entrees. They were ALL delicious! We booked Savoir Fare for our wedding, right after our tasting.

A few weeks before the wedding, Lyndse, who was going to be our banquet captain, met with my husband and I at our venue. We did a walk-through of our timeline and made sure everyone was on the same page. The day of our wedding, Joan, Lyndse, and the entire catering team were great. For the cocktail hour, we chose 4 different pass hors d'oeuvres, and for the reception, we decided on a plated salad and family-style entrees and sides. The guests loved the food and the family style service, because it was different from a typical buffet or plated meal. During cocktail hour, Lyndse delivered hors d'oeuvres and beverages to bridal party, so we didn't miss out on the food during the photos. I know our bridal party really appreciated that! A big thank you to Joan, Lyndse, and the entire team!

Whether we're talking about the service, the professionalism, the value or just the taste of the food, our experience with Savoir Fare was better than expected from start to finish. Not only were we soooooo full after all the amazing food we enjoyed at the tasting, we were also so so torn as to what to order since everything was so good and my husband (then fiancé) and I have have very different tastes. Joan was so accommodating and flexible, even coming up with the idea to serve two different salads, every other person being served different ones. The only problem was that we all ended up wanting both!
Joan and the entire Savoir Fare staff was so friendly, easy to work with, and on the ball. They even came out to the venue a few weeks before to scope it out and work through the logistics. Needless to say the event was a success and the guests all RAVED about the food. My husband will even tell you that much of the honeymoon was spent talking about how delicious the butternut squash ravioli was and how we should go to Savoir Fare the restaurant for our one month anniversary (which we did). It's so sad but no surprise to hear they recently discontinued the restaurant service to allow focus to be on the overwhelming influx of catering business coming their way.

Savoir fare jumped in 12 days before my event for 150 people. The three course dinner was fabulous and they were so professional. The presentation was beautiful. They also did all the table, chair, and china rentals and the food was outstanding. The guests couldn't stop raving about the food!

We contracted Savoir Fare to cook for our rehearsal dinner, wedding and Sunday brunch and they did not disappoint! Joan is awesome - laid back but responsive, professional, and talented - every other vendor we worked with seemed to know her and enjoy working with her. Although we didn't eat at our wedding (woops!), people raved about the food and attention to detail. Joan and her team went above and beyond to be sure that everyone was taken care of and that things ran smoothly - they even helped out with things they weren't necessarily responsible for without being ask. We couldn't recommend Savoir Fare enough!

We had a fantastic experience working with Joan and her team for our wedding. They came through our venue, Bluemont Vineyard, and the food was delicious! Our tasting at the restaurant in Round Hill was so fun, and we liked the food so much that we went back for our anniversary dinner! On our wedding day, we received countless complements on the food. And Joan has a great partner in Sugardust bakery for hassle-free wedding cake to come with the catering. An all-around wonderful package!

Bluemont Vineyard has an exclusive contract with Savoir Fare, so we didn't have to do any caterer research. That could've been a bad thing if Savoir Fare wasn't great, but luckily for us, their catering services were amazing! In my opinion, catered food is usually a miss, but my guests had nothing but great things to say about the food. They are also accommodating with dietary requests such as gluten-free. The wedding planners at Bluemont Vineyard typically coordinates with Savoir Fare. However, we did meet Joan during our food tasting and she's helpful and pleasant to talk to.

P.S. Their braised short ribs are to die for!

Joan catered our wedding at Bluemont Vineyard and it was amazing! From our first meeting with her, we knew it would be perfect. The food tasting was INCREDIBLE and so was the menu selection. We did a family style meal and Joan even made a few special dishes for us. The guests at our wedding raved about the food and the service. Joan is Amazing. True culinary genius! We took her suggestion and went with "family style" over traditional seated serving or buffet - excellent suggestion - loved by all the guests! The food was to die for! EVERY Guest has mentioned how great the food was! The kitchen staff, bar staff and wait staff!were great!! Having delicious food was one of my top priorities for a wedding- I hate going to weddings w/the same predictable bland chicken, mashed potatoes, carrots/green beans and I didn't want my guests to feel like they had to go through a drive through after the reception because they were still hungry. I was nervous that Bluemont Vineyard had an exclusive catering contract, but Debbie told us to try the restaurant in Round Hill, she said we would not be disappointed. We went for dinner and after the first bite of the blue and bleu salad we immediately booked Bluemont for our wedding. Working with Joan was a great experience. Our tasting was delicious and she provided a lot of guidance and suggestions. We chose five passed apps- brie and almond on crostini, salmon on wonton crisp, Gruyere stuffed mushroom, bruschetta, and crab cake. All were delicious, the salmon and mushroom were definitely the crowd favorite. During our tasting we couldn't decide between the blue and bleu and the strawberry goat salads so Joan suggested we get both and alternate plating the salads. Both salads got rave reviews. We decided on a family style service which was new to us and many of our guests and we got a lot of great feed back from guests that liked having the option of choosing what they wanted to eat without having to stand in hated buffet lines. The chicken dishes we tasted were delicious, but I was adamant about staying away from typical wedding food so we choose the beef tenderloin w/cabernet mushroom sauce and the grilled rockfish w/summer salsa. For sides we had quinoa pilaf and grilled summer vegetables. Our vegetarian guests enjoyed ratatouille tarts. We are still getting compliments on the taste and amount of food. We were even able to eat at our wedding and the food was just as delicious as it was at the tasting. I highly recommend Savoir Fare and am glad we can always go to the restaurant in Round Hill and have Joan's delicious food!

We were drawn to Savoir Fare because of our love of local, good food. Savoir Fare was recommended to us by friends at the farmers market, which in itself was a glowing endorsement. In all aspects from the tasting to our wedding reception in March (2013), Joan and Savoir Fare wanted to be sure that the appetizers and dinner were exactly what we wanted and it all exceeded our expectations. Joan went above and beyond in accommodating our requests, especially regarding our local source for brisket and bacon. We loved her creativity and willingness to work with us and explain the options in setting the menu, how the food would be served as well as accommodating food allergies of our guests. Our guests were blown away by the food, as were we! Our local farmer friend, who graciously provided the brisket and bacon, had never had his brisket before, because it is often in short supply, and when he had it for the first time at our reception, he loooooved it. Plus, the catering staff and service were excellent – so down-to-earth and friendly. Overall, we would highly recommend Savoir Fare and if we have another big party, we'll be calling Savoir Fare! Savoir Fare was the exclusive caterer for our venue. We were a bit nervous about not being able to conduct food tastings to select our caterer for our big day. However, the nervousness dissapeared once we arrived at the restaurant and began our tasting. Joan brought out a great selection of appetizers for cocktail hour, salads, main courses and sides dishes. Our only dilemma after such great tasting session was which of all her delicious dishes to select. We mixed and match from the fall, summer and winter menues. Some of our selections included the bacon wrapped scallops, vegetable canneloni (which was to die for!!!), cabernet mushroom stake, and roasted sweet potatoes. Everyone at the wedding loved the food. Three weeks after our wedding we are still getting comments about how great the food was. Not only was the food great, but the service was just as phenomenal from the food tasting to the service we received from the wait staff the day of the wedding. I have heard many stories where the bride and groom barely try their food on the day ofbecause of so much running around. We had one of the wait staff that was being so attentive to my husband and I the whole time despite the running around with pictures and talking to all the guest, we tried everything on the menu and had plenty to drink as well. Definetely a caterer that I would use again.

The tasting for the caterer was great. We got to samle a little of everything and all of the food was wonderful. They work really well with Bluemont Vineyard. When we had our wedding everyone had great things to say about the food, plus they don't skimp on the portions!

We chose Savoir Fare for our wedding after tasting a few other caterers around the DC area. We were very pleased with Joanie's approachable personality and level of service. The first course salads she created were fantastic with fresh fruit and a wonderful balance of flavors, our guests raved. Joanie was very accommodating, we decided to do a family style service for the main course and it was very successful, once again our guests raved, every bite was delicious. The service left nothing to be desired, the staff was very attentive and every last detail was accounted for. All of this at a great price. We would select Savoir Fare again in a heartbeat.

We cannot recommend Joan and her team highly enough! To start, she hosted an exquisite tasting and created a custom menu for us (including paella - a Portuguese favorite - for my husband's family) on the spot. The food is incredible and she came in under our catering budget which was amazing. Along the way, as we created a menu for our rehearsal dinner the previous evening, she adjusted our hors d'oeuvres to add variety. On the night of our event, the food was ah-mazing! All of our guests are still raving, but best of all was the service that her staff provided. No one wanted for anything the entire night and everyone was completely impressed with the happy demeanor and helpfulness of the entire Savoir Fare team. We would definitely hire Joan again (and again)!

We love Joan and her staff! What a great job. The food was fantastic -- our friends have all tried to recreate the amazing salad. Our guests loved all of the servers and bartenders. Could not have asked for a better caterer. We will definitely use Joan again for future events.

What an exceptional find! Fantastic, classic food my guests are still raving about. We said we wanted an upscale BBQ and Joan at Savoir Fare made it happen, with style and ease, professionalism and taste...and all for a very reasonable price. At first we were nervous as we didn't have a choice in our catering, but there was no need to worry. The food was amazing! The guests at and after the wedding kept telling us how good it was. Highly recommend!

The food was soooo good!! We had so many compliments and truly enjoyed everything we tasted. Food service during the wedding was wonderful as well. The servers, bartenders, and staff all did a wonderful job and were very professional. Lyndse was our day of coordinator and we are also very thankful for her. She handled so many details that helped our day run smoothly, while staying in the background - exactly what you'd want in a coordinator. Savior fare also handled the ordering of all our rentals from Select Event, which was great.

We were incredibly pleased with our experience in working with Savoir Fare. They did everything possible to make our day as perfect as possible. They pulled off a plated meal for 155 people on a farm with limited resources for food preparation and did an amazing job. So many of my guests raved about food. In addition, we booked our coordinator, Lyndse, through them, and I am so grateful for how great of a job she did. Worth every penny and then some!

We used Savoir Fare for our 200 person at-home tented wedding and they couldn't have been better. Cocktail hour was out in our backyard and the reception with a plated meal was served about 500 yards away in the middle of a field. Joan and her team were amazing from start to finish. The tasting experience with Joan was our favorite part of wedding planning. We ended up choosing mini sliders (with beef from our own cattle that Joan kindly used!), mini crab cakes, watermelon feta skewers, brie, avocado corn salsa, among others to start for cocktail hour. For dinner, guests chose from short ribs or rosemary chicken with polenta or a veggie ratatouille tart. People raved about the food! Service was excellent at dinner and all of the staff Joan brought were top notch. For late night food, we served chicken fingers and french fries, which were a bit soggy but there were issues with the food truck/fryer that were unforeseen. For a plated dinner for 200 served in the middle of a field out of a small kitchen tent, we really couldn't have loved our experience more with Savoir Fare. They are creative, flexible, and professional. Further, the pricing is extremely fair considering the quality and service you get. Highly recommend!

I loved Joan at Savior Fare. She was easy to work with and provided a LOT of options during the tasting. The food day of was phenomenal and guests raved about it (as the bride I was too crazed to actually eat it). She was flexible in offering to alter the menu to meet our price point. She isn't an inexpensive caterer, but I think you pay for what you get and they were worth it.

Joan and Savoir Fare were great to work with! The tasting experience was fun and informal, with Joan coming out to chat with us and ask us what we were thinking about the food throughout. We had several dietary restrictions from guests and those were handled really well. We hadn't actually tried the main dishes that we chose to serve at our wedding and everything turned out great (people are still RAVING about the brisket!). We chose to serve the food family style and it went well. The waitstaff were all nice and professional. We really like classic cocktails and wish the bartenders were a bit more experienced, but the bar still flowed well all night and there was never a line (except for a small one at the beginning of cocktail hour).

I had so many compliments on the food for the wedding. So many people told me how impressed with the food they were. The appetizers were delicious and we decided on a plated dinner. The serving staff and bartenders were wonderful and provided such terrific service. I was so happy to use them as my caterer.

I can't say enough how amazing Joan and her staff are. All of our guests were raving about the food. It was exactly what we asked for. I especially liked that the servers walking around with hors d'uvres made sure that I had a chance to try everyone of them. All of the staff were professional and friendly. Working with Joan was an absolute pleasure!

Savoir Fare has been wonderful with delicious food and great service! The quality and flavor of the food is amazing and it was tough choosing what to select for our wedding, as we loved everything. Joan has also been great at coordinating with us and adjusting some of our options to cut back on costs. Overall, the price is more than we were hoping for, but I know that the food will be fantastic on our big day!

Incredible Food All Day!

When planning our wedding, we knew food was going to be at the very top of our list of priorities. From our first bite during our tasting at Savoir Fare, we knew we had to have them! The tasting menu was extensive and covered a range of flavors and types of appetizers and main courses. We absolutely loved the food we ended up picking, as did our guests! So many people sought us out at our wedding to tell us how amazing the food was. The appetizers, salads, mains, desserts, AND late-night food were all delicious, and SF partners with a bakery called Sugardust that made us the most delicious wedding cake we’ve ever tasted. Savoir Fare also effortlessly accommodated our guests’ dietary restrictions, including vegan, dairy- and gluten-free, and various allergies, and everyone is still raving about how delicious those meals were! The service was professional and well-paced and the staff members were helpful and friendly. SF also handled coordinating and placing our rental order and provided flawless cocktail hour and reception bartending service. Our day-of coordinator, Lyndse, made sure everything ran like clockwork on the day of our wedding and was there to help with absolutely anything we needed. Savoir Fare was a huge part of our wedding day and we are so glad we chose them!

No One Left Hungry!

Joan’s food and her team are amazing. When booking a wedding at Bluemont Vineyards, you have to use Savoir Fare for your catering, and at first I admit I was hesitant to be locked into a caterer without doing research. Once we were pretty sure that Bluemont was the place, we opted to try some of Savoir Fare’s food, and we were not disappointed. I remember raving about the salads. They were SO good. Then we moved onto the mains which were flavorful and well prepared. When we came in for our formal tasting, we were again very impressed, and we had our mothers’ approvals as well. The food on the day of the wedding was a great execution. Everything that was served was delicious. And the family style service worked so well to engage our guests in conversation. No one left hungry!

Food was excellent. They have sort of a prefix wedding go to menu, so come with ideas if you are specific about food. This is a catering business, and they are VERY good at what they do!

We didn't have an option of picking a caterer. Our venue required this one, which ended up being great. Little on the pricey side, but food is excellent!

We used Savoir Fare for our wedding since we chose Bluemont for our wedding. The food was great and definitely seemed to be enjoyed by everyone. I would suggest asking the caterer to provide a sample of the starch so you can taste that (didn't get a chance to try them and chose something randomly).

Average Food but Good Customer Service

Savoir Fair is the only catering option for our venue, Bluemont Vineyard. At the tasting the appetizers were excellent. I am a vegetarian so my mom and daughter tried the meat options. They did not like the meat options at all. The vegetarian option was great. My mom ended up asking for the steak to be much more simple than the actual menu steak. It was made au jus with horseradish on the side. At the wedding, again the appetizers were the best part. The salad was good too, but nothing extraordinary. People who got the steak seemed to enjoy it, but the chicken was dry. We did have a medical emergency that set the buffet service back almost an hour, so we can understand that the food was not heated. There is a kitchen on site, but for some reason they do not use it for wedding receptions. It may be too small. At any rate the food was overall fairly average for wedding food. The manager did comp us for over a full table, which was incredibly generous and appreciated.

Food and Service

The food was great! Portion sizes were perfect. My concern during the tasting was bland mashed potatoes...sure enough that was what was served as well as cold. Overall, it was good. I would have liked to choose my caterer but this was the only one the venue allowed so it is what it is.

Great Food

We used Savoir Fare for our wedding recommended to us by our venue. Their food is absolutely delicious and totally fantastic, which was the real reason why we chose them as our wedding caterer. We also really loved that they were a local and family-owned business near where we were getting married. We had a great experience at the tasting and at our wedding because of how delicious their food is!

The reason we gave them three stars is because we were really disappointed with their communication style. We had a hard time getting in contact with them throughout the planning process for timely answers via e-mail, but also on the phone which was incredibly frustrating at times. Knowing that it's a small business we expected delayed communication, but at one point it took Savoir Fare 6 weeks to respond back to us pretty close to our wedding. That would make any couple feel a bit anxious. We experienced a lot of mistakes in the contract and rentals breakdown with things not being removed that were repeatedly requested to be removed and we received another couple's contract and rentals list at one point. Also, on our wedding day when the rentals company came to deliver the rentals to the venue, the rentals company was not prepared with the floor layout and had no idea where anything was supposed to go. Because our catering manger and our wedding planner weren't supposed to arrive for another hour or so, the bride, the MOB and the MOG had to direct the delivery people where everything was supposed to go according to the floor plan when it was decided that Savoir Fare would ensure that the rental company would have a full understanding of where everything needed to go prior to their arrival.

Again, we had an incredible experience in terms of food quality and taste, but we wish that our communication and organization experience with Savoir Fare had been improved throughout the many months we worked with them.

The food was good and our guests liked it. However, the caterer (Joan), was the ONLY vendor we worked with who was difficult. We got married at Bluemont Vineyard, and Savoir Faire is their exclusive caterer. We wanted Indian food to be served at the wedding, and she was originally accommodating and said she would allow us to bring an outside caterer for 50% of the food. We met with Joan prior to signing the contract and told her exactly what we would need from her and what to expect from a typical Indian meal. She agreed to all of it. If this was too difficult of an arrangement for them to handle, then she should have told us she couldn’t do it. Instead, she said “yes” and botched the process. She was unresponsive to email, complained about not having proper serve-ware for the Indian food although we told her exactly what we needed on our first meeting, and was uncooperative when we needed her to discuss logistics with our other caterer. She may be good if the order was straightforward and Bluemont and her employees guide her through the process, however, I wouldn't use her if you have any special requests.

Non Responsive

I cant speak on the food, because I contacted the vendor for a quote and received a response right away that they would have a quote over to me shortly. A week passed and I heard nothing so I contacted them again via email and heard nothing, so I tried one more time thru their website and still nothing. So just from that alone, I would not feel comfortable using a vendor who I cant get in contact with and says they are going to do something such as provide a quote and never does. Very disappointing.
