    Perfect Photographer for a Perfect Day!

    Excellent photographer who made our wedding day so special! We used Sarah for our engagement and was the only person we had considered for our wedding. She was prompt, creative, and incredibly easy to work with. Would recommend to anyone with a big event in Maine!

    Perfect wedding photographer!

    Working with Sarah Jane was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding in August 2022. My husband and I are not big picture-takers--we never remember to take photos or ask for photos, and we're generally pretty awkward at posing. Sarah made us feel comfortable from the very first phone call, and when we met her for our engagement shoot in Portland, she put us right at ease, made us laugh, and helped us feel as little awkwardness as possible!

    On our wedding day, she was somehow everywhere and nowhere all at once - I never heard the click of her camera, but she captured every amazing moment we would have wanted, and she was at the ready anytime a group wanted a photo. We received a ton of compliments on Sarah's fun and friendly demeanor from our wedding guests as well.
    We both feel so lucky to have worked with Sarah, and she'll be our first call for any future family photos!!

    Best fit for us!

    Sarah Jane Photography was a wonderful experience. She was professional and made us feel very relaxed and comfortable with the process. ​The final product was a great mix between candid and posed shots capturing our family and day perfectly. 10/10 would recommend!

    Sarah is the best!

    Sarah was such a pleasure to work with and took great care to photograph our wedding day just as we had hoped. Sarah is personable, organized and informative of what to expect from day 1. She was able to capture the tender, artistic, personal (and fun!) moments in a way we can treasure forever. Thanks, Sarah...you are awesome!!

    Sarah knows how to capture the magic!

    I could not recommend Sarah enough after hiring her for our wedding at the Samoset in July 2021. We had a minor crisis when our original photographer canceled on us 6 weeks before our wedding day. We found Sarah and fate was on our side as our wedding was her last summer weekend available. After chatting with her, I felt instantly at ease after my bridal breakdown and couldn’t wait to meet her in person. She was communicative leading up to wedding day and let me know what to expect. Wedding day arrived and Sarah showed up immediately doing her thing, taking candid shots of us getting ready and capturing fun and beautiful images of my bridal party and parents. She brought me down to my first look with my husband and I was able to get to know her a little better. She is sooo sweet, fun, laid back but always on her A game. We trusted her throughout the process of family photos and post ceremony portraits and we ended up with absolutely stunning photos of the entire day. She is insanely talented but more importantly, she has such an incredible manner that relaxed us in order to get some stunning and fun shots. I never thought id be grateful for a pre wedding disaster but it led us to find Sarah and we are so happy! 10/10 recommend!!!

    Family photo session with two littles

    ​Sarah was very professional and easy to work with the day of the shoot. She was also flexible with timing, since I changed from a morning to an evening session last minute. The quality of the images and assortment were perfect! I would definitely work with Sarah Jane Photography again.

    The photos are absolutely stunning and I still can't get over how in love I am with them, and the detail you were able to capture. It allowed us to relive much of what was an absolute blur that day - from the touching moments during the ceremony, the hotel shots and then of our guests and the venue, we couldn't be more pleased with the final product.
    Outside of the photos, you were just as amazing to work with. You truly helped set my nerves at ease during the chaos that was our morning leading up to the ceremony. I cannot thank you enough for just being YOU and being so relaxed and yet incredibly professional throughout the entire day.

    Sarah was the best choice that we could have made for our photographer! She was receptive, communicative and understanding of all of the moving pieces that come with wedding planning. And the pictures! As a member of the wedding party said: "Oh my god, your wedding pictures... They are, I can't even, wow!" That about sums it up!

    I truly can't express my gratitude enough for Sarah. Sarah was our photographer for our engagement photos and our wedding 9/9/17. She is so fun, professional, personable, and makes you feel so comfortable (this was our first ever experience with a photographer!) She truly helped me problem solve with the logistics of our wedding day, and answered every little question I had. She asked many thorough questions to get to know our families ahead of time, so our wedding day photos were truly a breeze. We added a second shooter in the last month or so of planning, and she effortlessly found someone to work with her to capture our ceremony. Photos were one of the most important aspects of our wedding planning, and I cherish our photos so much. I feel so grateful that we found Sarah and I would recommend her over and over!

    Sarah photographed our wedding in Vassalboro back in July, and we cant express enough how grateful we are for the beautiful memories that she captured on that day. Neither of us had worked much with professional photographers before, so we weren't sure exactly what to expect. When the wedding day came, Sarah was both a friend and a professional for us. She got the pictures that we needed quickly and efficiently, and, somehow, she seemed to be everywhere at once without being at all obtrusive. Many of our friends and family were able to meet her, so she was both apart of our wedding fun, and simultaneously capturing it all on film. The quality of the pictures that she took is stunning. I was initially hesitant to bother with a photographer, but now I'm very much grateful for the memories we have on film. We're looking forward to having Sarah come back up to photograph our family for other events down the road.

    We were so happy to have had Sarah shoot our wedding in September! Everything about the whole process was great - Sarah was so super encouraging and positive in our stressful planning process, was very flexible with her rate, and even added in an awesome engagement photo shoot when she was in town. Sarah's presence at our wedding itself was also so wonderful - she had such a fun and relaxed attitude while also being completely on point with the project at hand. She put both of us and our wedding nerves completely at ease.

    Her photos were terrific - expertly varied and all totally beautiful. Sarah captured so many great moments that we missed in the blur of the day. We both feel so lucky to have such a wonderful record of our wedding day.

    Also, added bonus: Sarah is a total expert about everything wedding-related and provided tons of renegade wedding assistance, such as how to properly apply eye shadow when your hands are shaking from nervousness.

    What was your favorite wedding photo?
    A picture of me walking down the grand staircase to meet my fiance for the first time. It was the most beautiful shot, and Sarah perfectly captured the most amazing moment of my day.

    How did the wedding photographer avoid disrupting the day?
    Sarah was everywhere and nowhere.... there are all these great shots I never even realized she took! But when we did need her direction and expertise, she let us know exactly what to do.

    What was included in your wedding photo package?
    More than I expected. First off, she did our engagement photos. And the day of the wedding she and her assistant were with me for over 12 hours. She made me a beautiful guest book with our engagement photos, we had a photo booth at the reception, we received a DVD of all our pictures and she also printed me a wonderful 8x10 engagement photo to display on our guest book table. Above and beyond.

    How did the photographer make you and family comfortable?
    My family was in love with Sarah by the end of the day! My mom loves to take a million photos, and Sarah was so accommodating and wonderful to work with. We felt very comfortable with her and her assistant.

    I would recommend Sarah 100%!!!

    One word to describe Sarah- DREAM! I was horrible at being a Bride- thankfully she is amazing at everything she does. I couldn't be happier with our wedding day, Sarah was practically invisible as she worked. BUT, when we got the final product I couldn't believe all the little moments she captured. Her work is just perfect- the compliments keep flooding in! If you can nab her you won't be sorry!

    Sarah was a pleasure to work with. Love her angle of photos and her artistic point of view. You want the photos to tell a story and they do. I am so glad I found Sarah to photograph our wedding!

    Sarah is an absolutely phenomenal photographer, in every possible way. Sarah shot our engagement photos and wedding, and the quality of the photographs was beyond our highest hopes. Sarah has an unobtrusive yet all-encompassing style -- I looked at many of the photos she took and wondered, how did she get there, I never saw her over there! Sarah is also the consummate professional, and easy-going to boot. She builds on her professional skills not only by working, but also by attending professional training retreats. Sarah is not your average photographer, she is much, much better. If I could I would give her all 6 stars in the ratings. I would highly recommend Sarah's services!
