We can't recommend Sarah and her team at SHP enough as your wedding photographers (or really... for anything!) Having the included engagement shoot was the perfect touch, as we got to meet Sarah and Tim and get comfortable taking pictures and get to know them so by the time we reached the big day, we were so excited to see them and knew everything was going to be perfect! They do an incredible job of capturing all the photos you expect like the family photos/wedding party/etc. but also the fun photos that capture the nuances of what makes each couples' perfect day individually special! They're also so well organized, great communicators (especially since we were planning from 300 miles away in Boston), and turned around sneak peek photos in just a few days! We're so excited to see the rest in just a few weeks and have an excuse to see and hang out with them again! Hire SHP! -

Sarah and her team were amazing- professional, friendly, super supportive. They had their vision but were also very accepting of our ideas. They made our day go smoothly and made sure we take all the shots on the list we put together.
Coming up to the wedding, Sarah was very thorough and made sure we thought about everything.
The pictures came out absolutely beautiful. I have been looking at them for a week now and can’t get enough. They have captured the mood of the day and the love in the air, pardon my newlywed sappyness.
Sarah and her team are worth every penny. They will make your day special, they will give you something to remember your wedding perfectly for the years to come, and they will show you how beautiful you can be when you are happy. Even when you are ugly crying while walking down the aisle.

Chelsea Sent on 07/21/2017Sarah and her team of photographers are everything a couple wants on their big day, their engagement photo session, and everything in between. My husband and I booked Sarah immediately after becoming engaged as we knew she was the best of the best- and she waited a full 2.5 years and helped us plan every step of the way. Sarah and her team are fun, creative, down to earth, DEDICATED, and professional. The day before my wedding a flash flood was in the forecast. Everyone in my wedding party reassured me Sarah would know what to do and to trust her artistic eye. I followed her lead and our photographs are BEAUTIFUL. Sarah and her team fought a monsoon, a four hour power outage (which they kept the photobooth up in! HELL YEAH!), a ceremony in a pitch black barn lit by wedding guests' cellphones, and all while with mud up to their knees. Sarah is more than a photographer. She accompanied me to my wedding venue and organized all the important details for me directly after our meeting, took important photos that I saved for later planning (and decorating), AND she traveled all the way to Arlington VA for our engagement photos! She even suffered a 5am sunrise photoshoot! She is a beast, and she is the best. After the wedding concluded everyone noted how organized and professional Sarah and her team were and described her confidence as contagious. Guests were drawn to her energy and I believe she kept the mood alive and well on our big day. If you book anyone else as your wedding photographer team you will be greatly disappointed. -

Her whimsical photo style caught my eye from the very beginning, I loved the way she brought personality into the formal portraits and really captured the moments with thought-out candid shots. I shopped around a little, but nothing compared to Sarah Heppell Photography. I honestly think I would have thoroughly regretted not going with this photographer.
Sarah was poised, responsive and really handled every question I had without seeming bothered by my inquiries. (I had a ton of questions, having never hired a photographer before.) There's not a single interaction I had with her or her team that wasn't positive and genuinely happy.
The photos were delivered super quickly and they are stunning, definitely take a look through her blog and see how well she caters to each individual wedding and really captures the heart and soul of the celebration.
She also went above and beyond for us, finding poses and spots that were perfection. She added a few portraits of my parents to celebrate a big milestone for them without anyone asking, she just offered them the opportunity and they're so special.
Honestly. Book her. It is worth it, and so much more. -

Teresa Sent on 07/26/2015Sarah, Jenn, & Wesley came to capture our special day and we cannot say enough about how wonderful they were to work with. All three are professional, easy to talk and work with, and open to any ideas and suggestions you have.
We have known Sarah for a few years outside of her photography business and knew from the moment we were engaged that we wanted her to be our wedding photographer. Her pictures are clear with great color and seem to capture the best moments of life. Sarah is fun, easy to work with, unique and quirky (in a good way) and awesome at what she does. Sarah, Jenn, and Wesley were easy to work with and gave directions when we were doing photos in a friendly manner. They helped set us up for success in the photo taking process. Sarah does a great job at making people feel comfortable, capture their best side, and gets people to laugh. Sarah and the gang were even up on our dance floor (a stage in a theater) capturing guests dance moves and made sure to capture a fantastic picture of our last dance with some of our guests gathered around as we were lit up and kissed; it is one of my favorite pictures of all time.
We also went with Sarah for our engagement photos. She did two photo sessions for us - one where we were able to get silly with some animal masks and then some mushy pictures at a coffee shop. Both times she captured some pretty great photos of us that I think a lot of other photographers would have missed or not been up to shooting (such as the animal masks).
I know we will be going to Sarah for future photos and we cannot wait to see the photos for our wedding day. THANK YOU so much Sarah, and Jenn & Wesley too! :) -

Briana Sent on 11/24/2012I knew Sarah and I would get along right from the start. The fact that she offers a "tattooed bride" discount is awesome! It just goes to show how cool and down to earth she is. Sarah actually contacted me when I registered on Syracusewedding.com to tell me about herself and her photography services. At the time, I was living in Baldwinsville which is where her office is located. How convenient! She was extremely flexible in setting up our first meeting with her (and for any appointment there after). As soon as my husband Tom and I left our first meeting with Sarah, we were figuring out in the car when we could make the deposit to book her. Needless to say she made a great first impression.
We had our engagement session in Franklin Square which is just a great spot and Sarah knew the best places to shoot. Our pictures came out great. Even during the whole planning process, Sarah took the time out of her busy schedule to check in on us and make sure all the planning was going ok. When it was time for our final meeting about 4 days before the wedding, she was flexible enough to meet me at Great Northern Mall because it happened to be the night of the guys tuxedo fitting and my 4 year old son needed to come with me. So she met me in the food court so he could hang out in the play area.
I can't not express how happy Tom and I are with our wedding photos. They are absolutely amazing. Sarah and Jenn captured every single important moment and more. They took so many beautiful shots at the ceremony and the reception candid shots were great. Sarah is extremely creative so when we told her we could use the horse track for some photos at the reception, she totally lit up!
I would recommend Sarah Heppell Photography to anybody, Sarah is such a great person to work with and she will make your day so much easier knowing that she is there to capture every special moment.

- She made us and everyone super-comfortable which translated into our photos
- We got the originals of our photos
- E-session included
- Second shooter included
- offers a tattooed bride discount
- knows what is new and fresh with wedding photography
- fast response to emails and phone calls
Our photographer was by far the most expensive part of our wedding. That being said, you get what you pay for. My best friend got married last year and got a good deal for her photographer, but the photographer didn't get a single shot of her entire dress. Yikes!
