I was initially drawn to Sarah Canning Photography because of how light, airy, and beautiful her photos were. Once I inquired with her, I was immediately sold. Sarah was so organized, detailed and thorough from the very start. She made the entire planning process so easy and seamless. She gave tips and suggestions for everything from what to wear for engagement photos to what to pack for the wedding day. Sarah also offers the option to have one of her associate photographers photograph your engagement shoot and wedding day for a discounted rate. We decided to go this route and had one of her associates, Ashley, as our photographer. Ashley was so kind, personable, and always made us feel comfortable in front of her camera. She has a ton of experience and is incredibly talented! We were so impressed with how she was able to make the most of our times together and capture as many photos as possible. We received our entire wedding album within a month of our wedding and were blown away by how quick the turnaround time was! All of our photos turned out absolutely stunning--we are SO obsessed with them! We would recommend Sarah Canning Photography to anyone!! -

The absolute best!
There truly aren’t enough positive things to say about our experience with Sarah! From our almost two year process of booking her, taking our engagement pictures, planning together, our wedding day, and everything in between, Sarah was an absolute joy and delight to work with from start to finish. Even from our first conversation with her, Sarah was extremely organized, detail-oriented, and made us immediately feel comfortable and that our investment in her would be worth it. Our first time meeting and directly working with her for our engagement shoot was carefree, lighthearted, and eased any potential hesitations about being in front of the camera or what our pictures would look like in the end. It was so helpful to have some practice with her and a better idea of what to expect on our wedding day, and I loved getting to use the pictures for our save the dates since she prioritized our preferred timeframe even with her packed schedule. Sarah kept great communication with us from the moment we inquired with her up until even after our wedding day. She was so helpful in answering all of my questions and asking the right questions herself, brainstorming ideas, creating our wedding timeline, and even just checking in with us. On our wedding day, Sarah truly felt like a member of my bridal party in the best way! She hyped me and all of my girls and the moms up constantly, kept the environment light and fun, effortlessly maneuvered the whole day capturing everything, and even was the one who hooked my bustle before our reception. Her confidence struck me the most - I loved that I never felt like I had to worry about a single thing and that she had everything under control, which let me just relax and enjoy the day. Plus, her work simply speaks for itself! All of our pictures are so beautiful, we’ve received so many compliments already, and she had sneak peeks to me in 3 days (even on a holiday weekend!) and our whole gallery in just a couple of weeks. I know we will cherish them for the rest of our lives. I’m so excited that I get to continue working with her on our wedding album! Choosing Sarah was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding and I couldn’t recommend her more! -

We got married this past May and I am so thankful that we hired Sarah to capture our special day. Sarah is truly one of the best in the business. Her photography style is absolutely beautiful and her work is just perfection. Sarah was incredibly responsive, kind, and professional from the first time we spoke with her. It was so nice to meet her in person for our engagement shoot and after that experience, we were so confident that our wedding day and wedding photos would be just as wonderful. Sarah is extremely organized and detail oriented, things that any couple can appreciate during the wedding planning process. The day of our wedding, she was excited, helpful, and supportive. It’s a long day, and she did everything she could to make it such a positive experience. Not to mention, our wedding photos were everything we could have hoped for and more. Sarah captured every detail, a lot of our guests, and our true happiness on that day. I can promise you that booking with Sarah will be one of the best decisions you make! -

Sarah is amazing!
I cannot say enough great things about working with Sarah! From our first consult I felt at ease and knew we had to book her. She is so personable and made the planning process super easy and stress free! She gave us so much helpful direction during our photo shoots and made us feel comfortable and confident. She also provided us with an abundance of useful information to know for the day of the wedding so I felt very prepared. She is incredibly talented and the photos are BEAUTIFUL!! Sarah is simply amazing!
If we had to book a wedding photographer again, we would pick Sarah 100 times over!
When we started our search and came across Sarah’s website we kind of had a feeling we found the right person for us. As soon as we reached out she setup a call so we could get to know each other and the rest is history. From there Sarah went out of her way through the entire process from the contract stage to the engagement photos to the months and weeks leading up to the wedding to make sure all bases were covered and we felt comfortable along the way.
Day of Sarah made sure we got all the shots we wanted. It ended up raining on our wedding day and Sarah still created magic inside and in the rain 😊
We can’t thank her enough for making our wedding photographer experience so amazing! Would highly recommend! -

Sarah was an absolute dream to work with! She's fun, organized, professional, kind-hearted, and extremely detail-oriented. When we had our engagement photoshoot with her, both my (now) husband and I were extremely nervous about how to pose and if we'd look awkward. Neither of us like to take photos, so we knew for sure we didn't know what to do during a whole session's worth of photos! Sarah made us feel so comfortable and confident about posing and taking photos that now whenever anyone takes a photo of us, we know exactly how to pose! All thanks to her! She is so amazing at what she does- from setting up the perfect photo to editing to delivery and all the details in between. She made everything feel so effortless and fun! She is very organized and knows exactly how much time each photo on your shot list is going to take and what the timeline of the day should look like. We were also so pleasantly surprised when she returned our wedding gallery back to us within a few weeks! That was our number one comment from our guests- "Wow! You have a phenomenal photographer! Her photos are incredible, and she got them back to you so quickly." Sarah is truly the absolute best in the business. She wants you to enjoy yourself and have fun, and she will be there to capture it! I am beyond grateful that she was our photographer on one of the most important days of our lives. I would choose her time and time again in any lifetime! -

We LOVED working with Sarah Canning!
My fiancé and I had only booked our church ceremony before 1) he deployed with the Navy a month later and 2) COVID-19 hit the US a month after that. We knew before he deployed that we would be making our big decisions (reception venue, caterer, DJ, and, of course, photographer) via email, but I wasn’t expecting that I wouldn’t even be able to go see any potential venues or meet any potential vendors in person. As many other COVID wedding couples can probably attest to, that made me very nervous. I found Sarah, among other potential photographers, on Instagram, and from my first phone call with her I was sold (the glowing reviews online also helped me feel good about choosing her). The other photographers I spoke with did not leave me feeling as confident and supported and optimistic as she did, even as she was dealing with much more urgent rescheduling issues and even though I had not actually booked her yet. Choosing to book Sarah was the quickest and, in retrospect, best decision we made for our wedding, aside from deciding to get married! After we booked her, over the next few months I saw stories on her Instagram that she only had a few slots left for the 2022(!) wedding season and I was amazed that we were able to book her for summer 2021. After working with her for our engagement shoot and wedding and receiving our wedding photos (a month and a day afterwards – I don’t know how she got our ~1000 photo gallery finished that soon, with weddings to shoot basically every weekend!), I feel so incredibly lucky that we were able to get on her calendar.
Sarah met us for our engagement shoot on a very cold December day in Valley Forge since that was the only time my fiancé and I would be in the area before summer 2021, and even though it was our first time meeting and it was freezing, our photos turned out like she had been working with us forever and I even managed to forget how cold I was with all of the (natural) laughing and smiling that happened! She put us both at ease and told us when we needed to tilt our head or move a hand for a more natural-looking photo, which I definitely needed help with. Knowing how Sarah operated and knowing we loved our engagement photos and experience with her as we approached our wedding date pushed a huge potential source of stress off of our plates. We felt confident that whatever happened on July 10th, whatever percentage of our original guest list was allowed to celebrate with us and however many photos would be taken with masks on and covering smiles due to local restrictions, it would all be beautifully documented, and we were right. Our wedding day felt like a fairytale in the moment, and Sarah was able to capture that happiness and joy with her camera and convey it in our photo gallery. She directed shots again, from telling us to move an arm for a more natural pose or take a step to the side for a better background to even seamlessly pinning back a piece of my hair that kept falling into my face in the breeze (it seriously looked like it was supposed to be that way the whole time). But producing a stunning product for a very fair price isn’t enough for Sarah; we had family and friends telling us that our photographer was so nice to chat with and so funny and so efficient (this came from some recently-married couples/bridal party members who didn’t work with Sarah!), and it put a huge smile on my face to hear that my husband and I weren’t the only ones who liked working with her. As an added bonus, her second shooter for our wedding was absolutely lovely and they were on the same page the entire day. Sarah clearly communicates well with her second shooters, not only with her couples.
If you have made it this far, let the length of my review be a testament to the fact that I cannot say enough good things about Sarah! Book her (and don’t wait!) so you can focus your wedding decision-making energy elsewhere. -

Best Photographer Ever
Sarah was AMAZING. She is such a professional and knows what she’s doing. She is personable, very organized and easy to communicate with - just a total sweetheart! A wedding photographer is personally one of my most important wedding vendors to book, and Sarah met ALL my expectations. She was just wonderful to work with. The photos she delivered were incredible and we get compliments from everyone. I cannot stop looking at them! I would definitely recommend her to anyone who is looking for a photographer — and book her early since she is in such high demand!! -

To say I was a scatter brain while planning my wedding is an understatement. I had no idea how much of a help Sarah would be in planning my day! Sarah helped organize my day and special features I wanted involved that were specifically catered to who my groom and I are as a couple. She had every detail ironed out and helped us relax and enjoy the celebration! Sarah also has a personality behind the camera that made it so much easier to be ourselves. She was kind, funny, and personable. We are beyond grateful to have had her be a part of our favorite day and, of course, our second favorite day was the day we got an email of all the photographs she took so we could relive it all again. Wow....just WOW ! Sarah captured our day so beautifully and perfectly. We could’t be happier with how everything turned out. Our wedding day flew by but thanks to Sarah, we get to go back to those moments through our beautiful photos. She literally captured every detail. I loved getting to see all of the details I missed the day of.
Our venue did not have many places to take photos, however Sarah made it look like we were all over. All of our photos have so much variety to them. I was really excited about all of the candid photos Sarah took of us and our guests at the reception. I kept saying to my husband “do you think everyone had a great time” after seeing the reception photos, I have no doubt in my mind everyone had a blast! It was so fun looking through them.
Sarah made the entire process so easy, she was so helpful and we loved working with her. Our photos are so genuine, she captured us and the emotions of the day so beautifully. I highly highly recommend !! My husband and I hope to work with her in the future for more milestones we make together.

We can say so many positive things about Sarah!! Sarah is flexible, professional, TALENTED AS HELL, and truly an overall wonderful person to work with. Sarah traveled two hours to do our engagement shoot in the location we hoped for and went out to dinner after with us! She felt like a friend from the start. My husband and I finally got married on April 10th, 2021 at French Creek Golf Club in Elverson, PA after postponing 10 months due to COVID. She was so empathetic and did whatever she could to help us through postponing, making it so much easier on us. She then continued to keep in communication, worked with us to create a timeline specific for our day to ensure we got every shot we wanted, and always gave incredible expertise. She's funny and honest, which takes any stress away that you have! We loved how calm and helpful she always was while planning and on our day. Lastly, she is efficient. We received all of our photos back wayyyy ahead of schedule from the wedding and our engagement shoot. She worked alongside our vendors so well and we are absolutely thrilled we chose her as our wedding photographer! She's amazing!! Her work is impeccable and we will forever be grateful for the memories she's given us through her art! -

Sarah exceeded all expectations!
Contact Sarah now!!! She is truly the best photographer. We loved working with her from the moment we met. Our engagement photos were beautiful and our wedding photos...absolutely stunning. All of our friends and family are still gushing over them nearly a month later! And that's right- she got our photos back to us so quickly after our wedding. She actually sent us a few the day after too! Aside from being an extremely talented photographer, Sarah is the sweetest human and will just enhance every moment on your wedding day. She pinned all of the groomsmen's boutineers, she placed my veil in my hair, and she just made everyone feel comfortable while taking pictures. I can't recommend her enough. Sarah is absolutely incredible in so many ways!! She photographed my fiance and I's engagement session last fall at Longwood Gardens, and we instantly loved her and felt at ease. Her photos speak for themselves and are absolutely GORGEOUS, and her energy, kindness, and care throughout the whole process was amazing. In our initial search process, Sarah was the only photographer who offered to meet us in person for coffee and really took the time to get to know us as a couple and walk through the process with us. I felt even better going into the engagement photo session knowing how thorough she is! At the shoot itself, she made us feel so comfortable and natural and had us giggling the whole time. We absolutely love how our photos turned out. We unfortunately had to postpone our wedding, and are no longer able to work with Sarah for our wedding date, which I was so devastated by. However, Sarah has approached this whole situation with so much grace and poise, and has been so patient and accommodating. We were lucky enough to be able to have a mini session with Sarah around the time of our original wedding date, and we were so happy we got to work with her again!! Working with Sarah is truly like working with a friend, and we will cherish the photos she took for us forever. -

If you are not one to read lengthy reviews, I want to sum up my review in the beginning for those who want straightforward guidance: Hire Sarah Canning! It will be the best decision you make in your entire wedding planning journey. I was a COVID bride, which gave me the opportunity to get to know my vendors on a whole new level as I saw them adapt to really strange, unimaginable circumstances caused by a world wide pandemic. I think I many people have an understanding that tough times reveal what others are truly made of. If that’s true, then the experience of serving couples in a pandemic only further revealed what I already knew to be true: Sarah has a heart of gold.
She is professional, attentive, proactive (seriously, she anticipates everything!), flexible, and quite the hustler. Not to mention sweet and personable. Our engagement and wedding photos are truly the most beautiful photos I have ever seen in my life. I will treasure them forever. Sarah is gifted in capturing the unique characteristics of your relationship as well as the deep love you have for each other. She will help you both feel SO comfortable in front of the camera with her natural pose suggestions and sense of humor. Yes, even if you swear you aren’t photogenic or you hate getting your picture taken (I’m talking to you, grooms!)
Sarah became more than my wedding photographer when I felt like my dreams were falling apart due to the pandemic. She became my support and my friend. She was our ONLY wedding vendor that initiated discussion about our plan B when I was too distraught and in disbelief to realize what I needed to do. She guided me through the difficult process of coming up with our plan B (a micro wedding of 25 people on our original wedding date of June 5th and a belated reception in August) and eventually committing to that plan as it was impossible to have our original wedding celebration with the state of PA at that time. Oh, and to top it all off, when our postponed reception in August had to be cancelled AGAIN just three weeks before, she was the first person I heard from. But she didn’t ask about details or the plan C, she simply asked “Are you okay?” And followed up with “I am so sorry, I am here for you no matter what you decide.” She graciously endured all of the changes and helped both days (the micro wedding and what turned out to be a back yard reception) run as smoothly as possible. I feel so blessed to have her beautiful pictures from both days.
If you want someone who is more than just a photographer, but also your advocate, support, friend, dress bustle-r, sounding board, and bridesmaid mediator (yes, my sisters were bickering during wedding party photos at the backyard reception) then Sarah is your girl. But don’t worry, she is great at multi-tasking; she can do ALL that and take the most stunning photos you will ever see :) My husband and I plan on using Sarah for every meaningful milestone we reach in our life together. -

It took me a while to come up with the right words to describe Sarah’s outstanding skill and professionalism as a photographer. Beyond her talent, she is one of the kindest + dedicated artists you will ever meet. When we first met her at our engagement session, I knew we made the right choice – we spent 1.5 hours laughing and talking about food, it didn’t even feel like a photography session. The photos were stunning in every way [and to think we were so nervous it would be awkward!].
Leading up to the wedding, Sarah was available for any questions we had. She made it easy to outline what specific pictures we were looking for, and how to achieve it without doing a first look. She knew we didn’t want to do one and adjusted our schedule to get ALL of our desired photos without feeling stressed. On the day of the wedding, seeing her immediately put me at ease – she jumped right in and did her thing, adjusted my hair and veil when it needed it, and even brought my HUGE bouquet of flowers over in her car “just because” it made it easier for me. The weather was on and off and she reassured me it would be okay – the sun came out and it was HOT, but you wouldn’t even know it from the end product of pictures. The associate photographer for the day was Kelly and she was equally as amazing. She was in charge of the groom and groomsmen and did a fantastic job at wrangling them throughout the day. We had a HUGE bridal party and Sarah led the charge of organizing everyone quick and easy through photos. Everyone listened to her as soon she spoke because she knew exactly what she was doing and how to do it. We had plenty of time for photos with just the bride + the groom without doing a first look and I cannot thank Sarah enough for helping us do that!
Beyond portraits, Sarah captured the raw emotion of the day – there are some pictures of me walking down the aisle, getting ready with my mom and bridesmaids, walking out as a couple, facial expressions during dances and speeches that just could not be captured without immense TALENT and SKILL. She is positively one of the best choices we made for our wedding. I keep getting messages of how stunning and perfect my wedding photos are and I have Sarah [and Kelly!] to thank for that. The second our album was delivered I burst into tears at the sheer beauty she captured. If you want professionalism, kindness, and magazine-worthy pictures – book Sarah now!!

Our dream photographer!
Sarah photographed our July wedding and all I can say is AMAZING. She was the easiest vendor to work with, was completely in control of every step of the day, and knew exactly what shots I wanted. We were able to do a first look, and get all bridal party and family photos out of the way prior to the cocktail hour starting! Sarah was in contact with me multiple times about the timeline and stuck to the schedule all day. I have yet to receive my final album but I already know from the sneak peaks how amazing the photos are. I can not recommend a better photographer, for a reasonable price point as well! Her assistant for my wedding day was Brittani and she was equally AMAZING!! Even being pregnant, she never complained once about the heat and she was able to organize 9 "rowdy" guys for many photos. Brittani and Sarah worked together like a dream and made all my worries for the day disappear. I absolutely loved having Sarah Canning Photography as a vendor and would recommend her a thousand times over. She had worked at my vendor before and was able to easily navigate the best locations for our pictures. She constantly fixed my hair and veil and dress and made me feel like I looked my best in every single photo. She even stayed a little later than contracted without hesitation to get a shot of the garter toss and surprise I had for the groom! We still get comments on our engagement photos and how beautiful they turned out and we cannot wait to see our wedding photos. PICK SARAH... You will not regret it!!!! -

Sarah is absolutely amazing! She worked so hard to not only take beautiful photos for us, but to get to know us and make sure she knew before the fact what we wanted in order to make sure the day ran smoothly. Sarah and her second shooter Becca were timely, professional, easy to communicate with, and felt more like old friends. They worked together so seamlessly and were so in sync with one another. She is quick to adjust based on whatever unknowns pop up and knows how to get the perfect shot regardless of what’s going on behind the scenes. Sarah held my flowers, fixed my veil, and made sure I didn’t trip on my train while taking photos. I felt like I had a bonus bridesmaid! Unbelievably talented and so easy to work with!
Hiring Sarah was one of the best decisions we made! Aside from being unbelievably talented, she made us feel comfortable right from the initial meeting. She is so professional, organized, and experienced. She made sure she knew exactly what we wanted for our engagement shoot and wedding day and didn't miss a beat. On our wedding day, she showed me one of the shots she took on her camera screen and I legitimately had tears in my eyes. Sarah is so responsive, genuine, and easy to work with. Sarah went ABOVE and BEYOND to make my wedding day absolutely perfect! She listened to my vision and requests, was extremely organized and professional, but best of all she made me and my husband (who can tend to be awkward in front of a camera) feel comfortable and actually have fun! Sarah wasn’t just a photographer for the night, she was a friend. Sarah and her assistant Kelly checked in on me and my husband throughout the night to make sure our night was everything we hoped for. We were thrilled with how our final pictures turned out. Despite having to travel a few hours to our locations, she scoped out the engagement and the wedding spots and finalized all the details beforehand. Her communication and forms before our wedding day helped make everything go smoothly and ensured that we captured all of the photos we wanted. Sarah delivered hundreds of flawless photos to us for both the engagement session and wedding day (over 150 engagement photos and over 1000 wedding photos), and we received them within a month. Not only is Sarah incredibly talented and hardworking in her photo and editing work, but she is truly a pleasure to work with. She’s fun, funny, outgoing, flexible, authentic, and lighthearted—she had us smiling during both of our shoots with her. We highly recommend Sarah as a wedding photographer without any reservation. Samantha Sent on 10/09/2018Joseph & I couldn’t have dreamt of a better photographer to capture our big day. Working with Sarah has been an absolute dream from start to finish. Since I first reached out to her she had responded rapidly and answers all questions promptly and without making you feel like an “annoying bride.” Sarah made sure she had all of the information she needed well in advance as to not need to ask me many questions in the days leading up to the wedding or even on that day. We had a plan and we were able to stick to it. She really listened to everything we talked about in terms of our vision for photos that day and really made it come to life. I remember Sarah coming to me to talk to me about the weather (as it poured for most of the time before the wedding) and was super positive and encouraging that we would be able to adjust our plans and get beautiful pictures. She was never in our faces or bossy, she’s very natural and sweet. I also remember a moment where we weren’t sure we would be able to get all of our photos prior to the ceremony because of the weather and just as I was going to settle and ignore my wishes she reminded me of what was important to me on that day and was able to accomodate what we needed and get all of the photos in prior to the ceremony. Everyone in the bridal party had the nicest things to say about Sarah and my sister in law just hired her for her wedding. I highly recommend Sarah Canning for photography. Joseph & I can’t wait to continue to work with Sarah on our future projects and hopefully babies!

Ashley Sent on 08/30/2018Sarah was seriously AMAZING. We cannot say enough about her professionalism, friendliness, and how beautiful her work is! We had our engagement pictures taken on a farm on a summer day and had our reception at the Crystal Tea Room in Philadelphia. Both very different vibes and atmosphere but Sarah was able to capture the most beautiful pictures and exactly what we wanted! Not only is her work gorgeous but she’s so fun to work with as well! My husband and I truly had a blast working with her and she kept us laughing the whole time! If you’re looking for a beautiful, light and airy feel for your pictures, you will not be disappointed! And best of all, we had all of our pictures back to us within a jiffy! I feel like we returned from our honeymoon and they were already done! Our photos were incredibly important to me, and I am a bit, let's say... discerning when it comes to good photographers. Sarah's came out so dreamy! She really captured the ecstatic happiness I felt on both days and brought out the best in my face. Not only that, but our photos are complete in just under 4 weeks after our wedding. There are literally hundreds of photos that I love, love, love! I am so happy that we chose her for our celebration. If I ever get the chance to use her in the future and can get her to go outside her wheelhouse of weddings, you can bet she will be my first call.

She helped me organize and time everything perfectly, she is the best communicator and of course she is extremely talented. Alice Sent on 12/09/2017I cannot say enough good things about Sarah! Our wedding day was cold and rainy and, because of the rain and some minor location changes for pictures, a little hectic. She handled the entire day professionally and with ease and, like Sarah always does, captured our moments PERFECTLY. Our pictures, despite the rain, came out beautifully. I am extremely happy with the sneak peek shots that we have received, especially the ones with my husband and me. Sarah is so talented, fun to work with, extremely organized and always thinking ahead. She went above and beyond for Chris and me and made the entire process from engagement photos and getting ready for the wedding day easy and stress free. Chris and I could not be happier with our wedding photos that we will look back on and have to remind us of the happiest day of our lives for years to come. Neither my husband or myself had ever had professional pictures taken but she was able to make us feel at ease and help direct us with specific poses. She provided us with sneak peeks of both events within a few days and we had all of our engagement photos within two weeks.
