Best wedding photographer ever!
Choosing Sarah as our wedding photographer was one of the best decisions we could have made for our wedding day! From the very beginning, she made us feel so comfortable and taken care of. She offered different package options to fit a variety of budgets. On our wedding day, everything felt effortless, and she captured every moment so perfectly — from the big emotional moments to all the little details we never want to forget.
Looking through our photos feels like reliving the best day of our lives all over again. Every picture is beautiful, natural, and full of emotion. Not only is she incredibly talented, but she was also so kind, organized, and calming to have around on such a busy day. She did an amazing job keeping everyone together and organized so we were able to get every picture we wanted without feeling stressed or rushed.
We are beyond grateful and would recommend her to absolutely anyone looking for a wedding photographer! -

We truly cannot say enough amazing things about working with Sarah! From the beginning, she understood our vision completely and brought it to life in the most stunning way. Her romantic, editorial style is absolutely flawless and every photo feels timeless, intentional, and full of emotion.
Beyond her talent, Sarah was such a joy to work with. She has a calm, reassuring presence that instantly put us at ease, allowing us to fully relax and be present on our wedding day. I don’t even know where to begin with Sarah because she was truly one of the biggest blessings on my entire wedding day. She’s not just an insanely talented photographer-she was basically my wedding-day guardian angel. I genuinely don’t know what I would’ve done without her. 🥺🤍
Yes, she captured the most beautiful photos (I already know they’re going to be STUNNING), but she also helped me with so many things that went way beyond photography. She helped me into my dress, adjusted my Spanx, fixed my hair when it needed it, kept me calm, kept me laughing…she even gave me her own energy drink when I started losing steam before the ceremony. Like…who does that?! She was there for me the entire day and night, and I’ll never forget it.
And then there’s her actual photography skills- unbelievable. My husband and I are definitely not naturals in front of the camera (we are awkward AF 😅), but she makes everything feel fun and natural. She got us laughing, being silly, being ourselves, and it’s going to show in every photo. Even in our phone meetings and at our engagement shoot, she was just SO easy to talk to. She has this warm, sunshiney, magnetic personality that just instantly makes you comfortable.
And it wasn’t just us-SO many of my friends and family kept coming up to me throughout the day and night saying how freaking FUN she is. She truly is the life of the party, and everyone adored her.
I am SO thankful we found her. Truly. I couldn’t imagine my wedding day without Sarah, and I HIGHLY, highly recommend her to any bride or honestly anyone who wants photos of any event in their life. We love you so much, Sarah!!! 🤍📸✨ -

Not only is she an amazing photographer, but she helped us with little things that popped up on the day, always with a positive spirit. Sarah was amazing!! She was personable and we had a great connection from the very beginning. She actually helped me with a lot of planning like vendor referrals (HIGHLY recommend if you are trying to plan a destination wedding in HHI) and scheduling the flow of the day. Then, when the big day came, she went above and beyond expectations. She was prompt and kept us on time, and had to be fast to do that. We went to multiple locations and Sarah was obviously an expert at everything she did. She was great at handling the wedding party and any unexpected things that popped up. Because of her, I had moments that I couldn’t have even dreamed of.
She’s also insanely agile! We got married on a boat and I watched her climb, crouch, and reach without missing a beat.
Her eye for a good shot is unbeatable. She is worth every penny!! -

I could not have asked for a better wedding photographer! Both my husband and I were a little nervous about taking pictures because we don’t always know how to pose. Sarah made us (and all of our wedding party) feel comfortable and natural during the entire day! People kept telling us how great our photographer was to work with throughout the day, and they were right! When we got the sneak peak pics back we were beyond excited. They were beautiful! The best wedding photographer
Sarah was the absolute best person to work with. She has such an amazing energy that makes you feel like you are instantly best friends. She made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera and the pictures are absolutely beautiful. She captured our day so perfectly and managed to get all of the small details and surprises throughout the day that weren’t necessarily planned to photograph, which makes it even better to look back on our album. Every moment and emotion was captured perfectly. Her job went so much further than just taking pictures. She helped fix my bustle when it broke so I wasn’t stepping on my gown all night. We had so much fun with her we didn’t want her to leave! She also has an amazing relationship with so many other awesome Hilton head vendors. I would recommend her to anyone getting married in the area. -

Sarah was such an exceptional photographer and person. We loved working with her and everyone commented on how great her energy is!! It will become super apparent as soon as you meet Sarah that she does this because she loves it! A few of my friends had used her for their weddings in Hilton Head and told me that she is the first person to book as soon as you pick your date. I'm so happy I did!! She's charismatic, makes you feel comfortable and is great at pulling together large wedding parties. 10000/10 would recommend!! -

Sarah is hands down the best photographer
If I could give more than 5 stars on this review, I absolutely would!!! Sarah and her second shooter Delane were the most AMAZING duo and made my and my husband's wedding day completely UNFORGETTABLE!! From the first call I had with Sarah, her expertise and intuition were obvious and I knew without a doubt that I wanted her to be the person to capture our special day! Coordinating with Sarah was a breeze and I went into wedding day feeling completely prepared to get all of the photos that we wanted. I had a feeling for how easy-going and fun Sarah would be from talking over the phone with her, but I never could have imagined how much better she would be in person!! From the moment she arrived at the girl's getting-ready house, I felt at ease and knew that Sarah was a total PRO! She was so friendly and helped everyone involved in any staged photos feel more at ease, directing each of us intentionally to pose without feeling stiff! Due to thunderstorms earlier in the day, our first look location was going to be too muddy for any photos. Sarah and Delane had amazing suggestions for backup spots which helped my fiance and I to get many different photo locations we would have never originally gotten!! After our ceremony, Sarah and Delane drove us around on a golf cart for even more photo locations we did not think we would have time for, which was a blast!!! Honestly the entire day it felt like they were both EVERYWHERE!!! We constantly had guests coming up to us saying that our photographers were incredible and capturing every single moment! The icing on the cake was that once the dance floor opened they were both out there busting some moves with everyone!!! Their energy was so contagious the entire day, and they became the life of the party!! Our wedding day was an absolute dream come true and it would not have been possible without Sarah!!!! -

The best photographer!!
Sarah has been incredible to work with since our first conversation! Her energy is unmatched and her personality is super kind, fun and positive - which is exactly the person I'd want around most of our wedding day! So many guests came up to me telling me how much they loved Sarah and how impressed they were by her (many noticed how on it she was to get the best shot). As far as her photos go, they speak for themselves. She is an INCREDIBLE photographer and I am soo obsessed with each photo! She has captured our HHI wedding in a way that I'll always be so thankful for. Sarah, we are so glad we got to work with you! -

I can't recommend Sarah enough!! She was not only an amazing photographer, but seriously the glue to the entire wedding day. Sarah is so professional, but also becomes your best friend. She really cares about you and making your wedding perfect. My entire wedding party and family couldn't say enough wonderful things and were so impressed by her. The pictures were absolutely AMAZING, they look like they belong in a magazine! I am beyond happy I chose her and would 10x over recommend her for your wedding! -

Absolutely Amazing!
Sarah is the absolute best! She took every dream I had for our wedding day and brought it to life! Her amazing personality made it so easy for me, my husband, and our bridal party to be ourselves and have fun in our photos! Out of the blue, the fire alarm went during the dancing portion of our wedding. We were already running a bit behind schedule and of course I was upset when we were asked to evacuate the hotel. Without Sarah, I think I would've lost it! She somehow managed to get all of our guests together outside for a huge group photo and absolutely turned the night around! I am so thankful Sarah was our photographer! She captured every special moment of our perfect day! -

Amazing friendly photographer
Sarah was AMAZING. We did more of an elopement and she was amazing throughout it. The biggest thing I was concerned about was making sure we had a photographer that captured our day for our memories and captured us. And I feel like our pictures are a perfect example of the happiness and love for our relationship. She’s so responsive and personable! -

Hands down the BEST photographer
Stop 🛑 your searching!!!! Sara is hands down the best photographer you will ever find. Being from up north I knew nobody in SC. I relied on reviews to find everyone for our wedding. I read one review and Looked at her website and I just knew she was the perfect photographer for us. We had a phone conversation and I just knew God brought me her for a reason. Not only is she an amazing photographer but a beautiful woman inside and out. I could not wait to meet her! She genuinely cares about you and your wedding. She invest time in getting to know you and your spouse and your love story. She took the time to find out what pictures I really wanted. To be honest she kept our wedding on time and lead us in what was next. We had a small wedding and didn’t have a wedding coordinator. All my family loved her! And she’s AMAZING with children!!! My girls absolutely loved her and talk about her daily!
And let me tell you when our wedding album was delivered to us, we got to relive our wedding all over. Every picture was perfect and full of memories! Sara is the best and you will not regret picking her!!! -

Sarah shot our destination wedding in Hilton Head at the end of April. Throughout the entire process, Sarah was responsive, professional, and really listened to what we wanted. She asked questions to ensure the photos she captured were exactly what we were hoping for and she sought out a beautiful area near our venue for our first look. Since our wedding was a destination for us, we were reliant on Sarah to scout out our shots and she delivered! I provided a Pinterest vision board of styles of photos I was drawn to and she specifically called out certain shots from my vision and brought them to life! Sarah was incredibly organized and ensured we were on schedule throughout the day.
We received several compliments from both our families and our guests about how amazing they all thought Sarah was. She brought great energy and captured our day beautifully.

Best Decision We Made! LOVE Sarah!
When my, at the time fiancé, now husband and I discussed what the most important items were for our wedding, photography was at the top of our list! Everyone warns the day goes by so fast, and we wanted to make sure we had the BEST pictures to look back when we want to relive our big day and cherish the moments.
We spent an extensive amount of time researching, combing through photographers portfolios and it always led us back to Sarah Nelson! Her reviews were incredible, photos were timeless and beautiful!
We also did our research and read brides reviews anywhere and everywhere we could find them and everyone had nothing but great things to say…
Well here I am, sharing the same praises! Sarah is genuinely & truly the most beautiful person inside and out! I cannot imagine having anyone other than her to capture our day or to have spent the day with (you will spend a ton of time with your photographer) haha
We are not local, and Sarah was phenomenal in communicating. We never ever felt worried or that the distance was a problem. She was extremely thorough in understanding what we wanted, what pictures were important, our style, etc.
Outside of her actual photographs, did I mention how wonderful she is as a person? She came prepared for everrrry single thing! She took the time to coach us all on how to pose so our pictures were natural, she was absolutely amazing with our little ones (flower girl) so she was comfortable, Sarah never missed the opportunity for great lighting (dang some of these pictures are incredible), she was calm when things got stressful (as a bride on wedding day- cannot say how thankful I was for this) and she was just a joy to everyone throughout the day! I cannot tell you how many notes / texts I got from wedding guests saying how great Sarah was!
As I reflect back on my wedding day, I can say 100% that choosing Sarah was the second best decision I ever made (only second to choosing my husband 🤪).
If you are reading this and deciding if you should choose Sarah, stop immediately, and BOOK HER!! You will not regret it!

Fun, professional, laid back
What an absolutely amazing experience. Get ready because I am about to put Sarah on the highest pedestal, one that she hands down deserves . I reached out to Sarah for a destination wedding that I had on Hilton Head Island. Sarah responded immediately and set up a phone call. Sarah and I talked for a solid hour and when I hung up I knew Sarah would capture my day. Sarah is the photographer I have been searching for. Others had gotten back to me but Sarah has such a fun, outgoing, laid back but professional personality that I knew, she is it. Sarah touched base with us prior to the wedding and was always available for any questions. Before the wedding week we had a solid hour call to ensure we were all on the same page. Sarah had our detailed timeline, went over every single line and ensured this day would be fully captured. On April 30th Sarah was prompt, professional and got right to her set ups. We had everything there that we discussed and she started clicking away. Sarah was friendly but knew exactly what the vision was and stuck to it. At the ceremony Sarah was on schedule , professional and really got into it to ensure she got the perfect shots. Sarah rolled into our family pictures, stuck to her list so nobody was left out and then ensured we got everything we wanted. During the reception Sarah got right in action. Sarah captured her shots but also got with my guest. I would spot Sarah dancing with my guest, capturing candid pictures and working the room. I never once hesitated nor did i ever pick up my personal phone as I was confident that Sarah captured the night. Sarah remembered a very important picture that I wanted right around sunset and she absolutely delivered on it. At the end, Sarah ensured she left enough time to make sure we didnt think about any other shots. She made her last rounds and ensured she said goodbye to us. My guest all commented how Sarah was so personal, professional and everywhere. My wedding was on a Saturday and I got my sneak peek on Wednesday. I am blown away by Sarahs pictures and I was so eager to share them with my family. I cant wait for the full set. Sarah hands down captured my wedding, moments, dancing, ceremony and most important, the love in the room. Sarah, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you. Sarah captured my daughter's wedding with GREAT personality and fun, and heart. We were on a very tight timeline due to parking issues on Harbor Island, but she made due with what she had and produced PERFECT photos, in lots of fun combinations, making us laugh and enjoy the day. She had such a great sense of humor, artistry, and flexibility, I would definitely want her for another daughter's wedding! I love her eye for lighting and angles! -

Sarah's creativity and talent are unmatched! Her personality is what every bride needs on their big day!
Sarah blew us away! Our first phone call, she spent 30+ minutes with me talking about the details of my day before we had even hired her. She had the quickest response rates of all the photographers I was interviewing. I did a lot of research and no one else was able to match her experience level. My maid of honor is a wedding photographer and she said "Sarah is a cut above the rest". Sarah was hilarious and made us laugh naturally with her jokes. She also gave us pointers for how to pose which made the pictures turn out to be stunning. I looked like a model! Normally, I pose really awkwardly, but she would move us around to get the perfect position. She was also excellent at jumping in and taking control of our huge family for the group shots. She made me feel beautiful with her encouraging words! Also, I had given her some Pinterest pictures and some desired shots and she came prepared. She had printed out our requests and was on-top of all of it! Her photos turned out better than Pinterest! She has a degree in photography and does this as her full-time job, so she's as professional as they come. Sarah is masterful at lighting, composition, detail, and also brings along a shining personality! If you are looking for a wedding photographer, I promise (and I did research!), Sarah Nelsen is 100% the way to go. After the wedding my family and friends kept saying "wow, you're photographer, though"! -

Made our experience easier!
Sarah was a blast to work with for our October HHI beach wedding. She made us feel at ease during the process and helped us with directions to get that perfect shot. It was fun to work with her! We were so lucky Sarah knew exactly how to capture the sunset (and a rainbow) on the beach. We have some truly dramatic and artistic photos to enjoy. Our parents and guests enjoyed the experience as well. We are so happy we were able to work with Sarah! -

Phenomenal photographer in a class of her own!
Sarah was a dream! She is the most skilled, talented, hard working and overall a wonderful human I could not imagine having anyone else to support and tackle one of the most important parts of any wedding - capturing it! She thinks of everything... I don't know how she does it but there is no detail she missed. Sarah worked well with the party, the quests, the calm ones, the challenging ones, etc. I don't know how she managed to wrangle grown humans that were too excited to function properly and get some of the most beautiful pictures I've seen, but she did! I found her on instagram and was amazed at her previous work and I am so glad that I did. I really could not imagine it any other way. Sarah is responsive, thoughtful and helpful. If you want to elevate your wedding, hands down I would choose Sarah 100x over. I'm sad I don't live close to have an excuse to hire her more often!

Sarah was the photographer for our wedding at the Sonesta Resort in Hilton Head - and by the end of the night she was the honorary Maid of Honor 😂. Sarah was my hype woman, my bustle-fixer, my “what comes next?” answer-er, and aside from how she made me FEEL on our big day - she captured every.single.moment. In the most beautiful way possible!!!
Even though we’d been together for 9 years, my husband and I had never had professional pictures taken together (we decided to forgo engagements and separate bridals with COVID/destination wedding)…so we were pretty nervous about the whole situation! Sarah made us feel comfortable during our entire session and was super helpful with giving direction (what do I do with my hands?!). And y’all…our pictures….are STUNNING!!
Sarah listened when I told her I’d like to incorporate as much greenery around the resort as possible - which was a switch from my original family pics on the beach idea - but she was flexible and found the PERFECT locations on the property. After group/family pics - which Sarah kept organized the ENTIRE time (thank goodness) - we took pictures on the resort’s bridge over the pond and that’s when the magic kicked in. These shots are absolutely perfect - it is unreal. To top it all off, she walked us down to the beach and we snapped a few shots by the legendary dunes and we were lucky enough to have the moon showing off.
I have had soooo many compliments on the photos from our wedding - people are wondering how I found such an amazing photographer planning long distance. I wish I could tell them the secret, but honestly I think it was fate! The hype is REAL - this is your sign - Sarah was authentic, efficient, sweet, comforting, helpful - all the things. -

Sarah is the ABSOLUTE BEST wedding photographer!!! She really goes above and beyond to make sure your day is captured perfectly!! It was such a pleasure to work with her. The first time I spoke with Sarah over the phone I knew we had to hire her as our wedding day photographer. Since we are from out of town and decided to do a destination wedding I was not sure who to hire and we most definitely found the greatest photographer around!! Sarah was very personal yet professional, she really made us feel like we were in the best hands from the start of planning to end of the wedding day. She was very patient holding our new date when we had to reschedule our wedding due to covid. Sarah is very experienced and goes with the flow. Sarah was always coming up with ideas for shots to capture whenever she saw something that inspired her - she never just "stuck to the script" of direction we provided and went above and beyond to give us more than we could've asked for.
Plus, Sarah has an awesome sense of humor and knack for making everyone feel comfortable, which is super important when you're taking people's pictures.
Bottom line - any guest we've seen after the wedding has gone out of their way to tell us how beautiful our wedding pictures are, which is pretty special and lets us know we're not the only ones blown away by her work!

Sarah was an absolute gem to work with on our wedding day! She helped make our day even more special dreamy than I could ever imagine. She came up with gorgeous shots that I absolutely love. She has a fantastic eye and vision. I was pretty easy going and just left everything to her and she did not disappoint. Just from the few conversations we had she knew exactly what I was looking for even when I didn’t. Her and her bum bag are the cutest and she sticks exactly to the timeline which is huge because I’m always running late. She told me where we needed to be at what time and that was a lifesaver. After our ceremony she took us back on the beach for sunset photos that are to die for!!! She even un bustled my dress and took my shoes off for the shots and then put me all back together. We had no idea what we were doing when we cut the cake and she helped us out. She was like another coordinator the day of and we couldn’t have done it without her. She doesn’t skip a beat! We have gotten so many compliments on our photos and those were just the sneak peaks!! She loves what she does and it shows. I cannot recommend her enough! Sarah went above and beyond for our wedding from start to finish! She was incredibly organized and always knew the best shots to take based on the scenery and, at times, spotty weather conditions. She was incredibly creative and patient (both with me and the weather), which has only shown through in the most lasting way...our gorgeous wedding photos! I could not recommend her enough for her photographer skills, but also the fact that she is just a very kind person. On a day that is so important, it is necessary to not have only a great photographer but an awesome human being! Alright, I got engaged during the Corona Pandemic and had a lot of free time on my hands to start planning my wedding. The most important things to me are the venue and photographer, you want a great place and memories captured beautifully. My father was just as excited and found Sarah Nelson on the Wedding Wire. We creeped through her pictures from a wedding close to our venue and fell in love with how she captured the day. There were candids and staged photos and both were amazing.
I reached out to Sarah and she got back to me within minutes! We planned a phone call later that day so she could get a vibe of what I was looking for. Like I said, venue and photographer were at the top, I had certain needs that I wanted for pictures and I was hoping we could come up with my own personal package.
Needless to say, we were on the phone for over an hour! Sarah is SO bubbly and easy to work with, NEVER did I feel awkward about asking for what I wanted. My dreams fit in with the 'whole shebang' package and we started on the next process, "The Engagement Photoshoot."
I love my fiancé, he is wonderful in many ways, but I was DREADING this photoshoot. He was not about posing and kissing especially in nice clothes. He is a 'jeans and cut off' kinda guy. I knew he was going to be miserable. Sarah arrived at our photoshoot location and was AMAZING! Her personality is ABOVE and BEYOND! She is talkative and very easy going. We had music playing and cold beers in our hands the whole time to loosen up. She staged us in some shots and got to know us in person before our big day, which made my fiancé EXTREMELY comfortable! It also put me at ease, to know who was showing up the day of our wedding and what she was like!
If you are looking for a RELIABLE, PERSONABLE photographer, Sarah Nelson is your gal! The way she captures the moment and backgrounds is absolutely stunning. She focuses on certain points and it makes the pictures perfect. Her editing time is awesome! i had a sneak peek within two days (16 photos) and my whole album digitally in less than two weeks.

Our engagement photo shoot in the rain was so much fun! Sarah is so sweet and has the best, bubbly personality which made everything better. Me and my husband were kind of dreading getting photos taken of us because we are both socially awkward but Sarah posed us for each photo, made us laugh, and feel comfortable! It was amazing!
