I really want to take the time to share the incredible experience myself and my new husband had getting married at San Pietro this July, 2023. I would honestly recommend it to any brides looking for a destination wedding! It was so dreamy more beautiful than I could have imagined.
We are from London, UK and dreamed of an Italian countryside wedding weekend with all of our nearest and dearest. We were 56 in total, and wanted to have an exclusive venue, with only our guests on-site. We did a welcome pizza party Friday, the wedding Saturday and then a pool party bbq on the Sunday. The venue absolutely delivered on all of our requirements.
The venue itself is absolutely beautiful, it’s extremely peaceful, filled with birdsong and greenery. There is also so much history and art which adds to the uniqueness and prettiness of the venue. There are so many beautiful locations to make use of; the cloisters, the rose garden, the park (with amazing mountain views), the pool area (with toilets and changing rooms), and more! This made it great for hosting the guests in new and different locations all weekend. Plus so many locations for photo opportunities: The steps leading to the pool covered with flower arches was my personal favourite! Also the lighting in the hallways overlooking the cloisters was gorgeous! Every part of the venue was well nurtured and looked after. We made use of the spa with the bridesmaids and groomsmen on the morning of the wedding and it was the perfect way to unwind ahead of a busy day! We all felt very pampered!
The food was absolutely fabulous, and so plentiful! We are huge foodies so wanted to make sure our guests were well-fed with good food. San Pietro exceeded our expectations! We had the freshest oysters served during the aperitif, and the most tender veal sirloin served with dinner, I don’t think I have seen wedding food done so well and all our guests were raving about it! It’s obvious that the team work really hard on ensuring high quality menus with fresh and local produce! We had lots of dietary requirements to cater for but this was not a problem for the San Pietro kitchen, who gave our guests really lovely alternatives and made them feel included.
The venue’s wedding coordinator (Sara) was amazingly helpful, she did everything in her power to execute on our vision, and contributed great ideas! She was so responsive though-out, and we never had any doubts because she made us so comfortable. I am so grateful for all the staff for the impeccable service, and being so adaptable! We happened to get married during a big storm in Perugia and I will never get over how much Sara, Diego and team supported us with meticulous re-planning to make the day as perfect as possible! Luckily the venue is beautiful inside and out, with lots of sheltered options indoors which are equally as beautiful, so the weather didn’t take away from the day! Honestly, we were so glad to share our special day with all the venue staff, we really got to know them well over time.
San Pietro were able to sleep 36 of our guests on-site, and provide nearby accomodation recommendations as well as organised transfers for all of those staying offsite, so the coordination of guests arriving on time for events was perfect and simple.
We also worked with a celebrant recommended by the venue and he made all of the legalities really straightforward and easy to manage, so we were able to legally get married in a civil ceremony. But I also understand there are options for a religious ceremony in the lovely chapel.
Overall this venue was the best decision we ever made with regards to wedding planning. We intend to come and visit as often as we can.

From the very start, our biggest priority was our guests. Many were traveling from Ireland, and we wanted everyone to feel relaxed, cared for, and free to celebrate without worries. San Pietro sopra le Acque made that possible in the most natural way.
Having so many guests stay directly on site was a gift. Others were accommodated nearby, and the fact that the team helped us organize transfers to and from the airport — and daily transportation for our guests — took an enormous weight off our shoulders. No one had to think about logistics; everyone could simply enjoy the experience.
Over three unforgettable days, the place came alive with laughter, shared meals, long conversations, music, and yes… plenty of pints. It felt less like a “wedding event” and more like bringing all the people we love together in one place, fully present.
The warmth of the staff, the beauty of the setting, and the seamless organization allowed us to live every moment deeply. These memories will stay with us forever.

My husband and I got married at San Pietro Sopra Le Acque on 7 July 2024, taking advantage of elements that we considered essential in choosing the location: the possibility of getting married with a religious ceremony on site at the church which the structure is equipped with, our proximity and that of our guests (being almost all from the area) and holding the reception in the park area. Our day was exactly as we had imagined it, so much so that our friends often remember it as one of the happiest weddings they have taken part in (we are probably biased in describing it that way too!). The weather initially didn't seem to be on our side, only recovering shortly before the ceremony took place and for this I will never stop thanking all the staff who did their utmost (despite the now tight deadlines) to allow us to have an outdoor reception as we wanted. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience! From start to finish, the service was exceptional — every member of the team was kind, attentive, and incredibly responsive to our needs. They went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly and that we could truly enjoy our day.
The location itself is stunning — a perfect mix of elegance and charm, with breathtaking views that made our photos unforgettable. Our guests couldn’t stop talking about how beautiful everything looked!
And the food… wow! Every dish was delicious, beautifully presented, and served with care. It was a true highlight of the evening and one of the best meals we’ve ever had at an event.

It took us some time to write this review, because we wanted to make sure to properly put into words just how incredible our wedding at San Pietro Sopra le Acque was. From our initial meeting with Sara, we felt there was something special about this venue and our instincts were absolutely right. As a couple from the United States, we planned our wedding entirely remote, which at the start was a nerve wracking concept. However, Sara made the entire process so easy and seamless from start to finish. She was so communicative and thorough with all aspects of our three-day event, from connecting us with the best local vendors to making recommendations for our dinner selections when we were unable to visit in person for our tasting.
From the moment we stepped foot on the property it was every bit as beautiful as we had dreamed. The venue not only blew us away with its beauty and location, overlooking incredible views of Umbria, but also with the amazing staff that made us and our guests feel right at home. Sara and the rest of the staff truly cared to make every day of our event so special and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect throughout our stay.

A Dream Wedding Come True at San Pietro Sopra Le Acque.
Living in Ireland, we always dreamed of getting married in Italy—and from the moment we discovered San Pietro Sopra Le Acque, we knew we had found the perfect place. After a video call with Sara, who kindly walked us through the venue, we instantly fell in love. Even through the screen, the charm and beauty of the venue shone through.
From start to finish, the entire planning process was seamless. Sara was nothing short of incredible—patient, warm, and endlessly helpful. No request was too big or small, whether it was creating our signature cocktails or even importing Tayto crisps (a must-have for any Irish wedding!). Her attention to detail and dedication meant we could relax and truly enjoy the experience.
The staff who supported us throughout the weekend were professional, kind, and attentive. We felt so well taken care of, and so did our guests.
The food? Absolutely unforgettable. From the delicious pizza party the night before, to our wedding dinner, to the relaxed BBQ the next day—every meal was spectacular. Our guests are still talking about it!

From the very beginning, the team at San Pietro made us feel completely at ease. The flexibility and adaptability of the venue to various possibilities (beauty indoor rooms to have a bomb-proof plan B in case of rain).
The possibility of holding the ceremony on-site is unparalleled.
Another strong point is the in-house kitchen.

La perfezione racchiusa in una serata
Quando penso al giorno più bello e felice di quest'anno mi viene in mente solo il 21 agosto ovvero il giorno del mio matrimonio. La prima volta che ho visitato il San Pietro sopra le acque Resort avevo 14 anni e sono rimasto così colpito dalla location che mi dissi "quando mi sposerò voglio sposarmi qui".Premetto che sono del settore e sono molto critico se c'è qualcosa che non va comunicando tutto subito a chi di dovere ma quella sera non sono riuscito a trovare nemmeno un difetto. Location che toglie il fiato, immersi nel verde con il prato e il bosco fiabesco nel quale fare delle foto stupende, cibo davvero ottimo con tanta attenzione nella materia prima e con tante varietà di scelta sopratutto con molta attenzione per chi ha allergie. Il servizio in sala perfetto, sempre al servizio del cliente. La nostra organizzatrice per l'evento, ovvero Sara, ci è stata sempre vicino passo passo con pazienza, eleganza e classe, consigliandoci sempre al meglio ma senza esporsi troppo in modo da lasciare sempre libera scelta al cliente. In location hanno anche differenti partners con il quale lavorano da anni, come noi abbiamo scelto gli addobbi floreali curati da Michela che si è presa sempre cura di noi rendendo il posto, gia bello di suo, in un opera d'arte.
Credo che moltissimi altri "colleghi" debbano prendere spunto dal San Pietro sopra le acque Resort per capire davvero fino in fondo il senso dell'ospitalità. Un giorno indimenticabile, grazie infinite a tutti per aver reso quel giorno, un giorno davvero perfetto. -

The perfect wedding
My wife and I were born in Umbria and Sardina respectively, we met in Emilia Romagna while studying and we now live in Canada. For our wedding we needed a venue which would allow us to host lots of people for multiple days. San Pietro Resort was the absolute perfect choice. A gem of Umbria, this 1600 beautifully renovated monastery will give you chills. The 2 amazing aspects of this place are: its structure, and the staff. Diego and Sara guided us through the organization with steady hands, professionalism, and always listening to our requests. The waiters, custodian, and cleaning ladies are absolutely awesome. They are welcoming, efficient quick, but most of all, they always smile. The fact that the venue has a church inside is priceless. It is beautiful with original paintings and can comfortably fit more than 80 people. With the venue being so wide and with so many spaces we were able to organize our weekend in different environments (the pool, the cloister. Etc) and only showing the main part of the venue for the wedding reception on Saturday. I would strongly suggest everyone to check out this beautiful corner of Umbria, and to secure this venue for your dream wedding. You’ll never regret it, trust me! -

We married at San Pietro Sopra Le Acque on 20 July 2024. We chose this beautiful location because when my sister married two years earlier, we fell in love with the place, the food and the professionalism of the staff! We had the ceremony in the charming rose garden, then the reception in the park and the disco in the cloister (wonderful). It's a location that leaves you speechless, it is large, beautiful, with attention to every detail and offers you many alternatives. There is also a small church for those wishing to choose a religious rite. And there are 15 guest rooms! The Wedding Is a party and with them you must enjoy it and don't have worries... You can rest assured because everything will go smoothly! The organization is impeccable, the staff is professional and very friendly, the location is magical, the food is excellent (everyone remains for the island of starter and dessert)... And then the next day there is the possibility of having brunch in swimming pool and continue the party 😊
We recommend it to anyone who wants a location that leaves you speechless ❤️

We celebrated our wedding at San Pietro Sopra Le Acque Resort on August 5th, 2023. This is just THE PLACE for a perfect wedding: the location, the venue, the staff are the perfect combination to put in place a fairy tale wedding. Every detail happened according to our plan, the food was absolutely delicious, the service impeccable. Our friends and families raved for weeks about how incredible everything was. We definitely recommend this venue and all of it’s staff. I wish we could host more events there! A million thanks to San Pietro Sopra le Acque for giving us an unbelievable day and memories we will cherish for a lifetime. -
