Lovely hotel right on the beach!! Beautiful location, breathtaking views. Staff is professional and friendly

Overall, a few challenges, but it is expects with weddings. But the staff redeemed and ensured that the experience was flawless and favorably remembered. Amazing team, loved their service and agility!

The experience with Marriot Stellaris and its staff was outstanding. Thanks to Juan Fuentes we had a wonderful weekend. Juan made Rachelle and Matthew dream come true. The guests were very happy with the rooms, amenities and service. It was a pleasure working with Juan Fuentes.

Juan was remarkably helpful and made himself available even in the late hours of the night. He is the single most incredible Marriott employee we could ever have hoped for

Our wedding weekend would not have been the same without the support care of the San Juan Marriott team (especially Juan Fuentes!). Everyone was incredibly thoughtful in caring for our guests and making sure they had the best experience. So glad we decided to stay at the San Juan Marriott and we loved every moment there.

I was very nervous planning my wedding from Chicago and not physically being there to meet with the staff. They more than exceeded my expectations. The staff was so accommodating. Definitely worth it. The area is perfect walking distance to everything.

The entire staff is amazing. They are friendly and professional. The entire staff went above and beyond to make our wedding day AMAZING!!!!!!!!

I had the most amazing experience with the San Juan Marriott. Stellaris . The most experienced staff, friendly, thoughtful , clean property , great location. Event staff -Aleksandar & Alondra did an amazing & incredible job making us, our friends, family feel comfortable and pampered and spoiled. From start to finish beautiful experience.

Planning perfected on every level.

I can't stress enough that this was the perfect venue to host our wedding. Alexandra, the events coordinator, is AMAZING. SO helpful, patient, understanding. We were making changes up until 2 days before the wedding and they didn't even flinch, just accommodated the best they could. The staff is outstanding. We chose to have our wedding on the terrace, beautiful backdrop and view of the ocean.
You will have to hire an outside decorator but everything else is outstanding. Condado is the perfect location, walking distance to almost everything.

My husband and I had our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception at this hotel August 16, 2018 as a destination wedding. Needless to say everything was phenomenal. We had selected the taste of Puerto Rico for the menu a the food was delicious. Everyone complemented us on the food. I also loved the decor around the food it made the theme really stick out. ☺ Many thanks to Alexandra she was so helpful and accommodating even to the last moment and extremely patient through the entire year of planning. Unfortunately, my ceremony was outdoors and it rained but she made it all possible to get me a beautiful space as close to outdoors as possible. It was a fairytale. I wish I had another event to plan in Puerto Rico the The Marriott Stellaris resort would definitely be our first choice. We recommend this hotel to anyone who is planning an event.

I had my ceremony, cocktail hour and reception here on August 4th 2018. I can not even explain that it has exceeded more than my hopes of what my wedding day would be! I worked with Alexandra Mercado for most of the planning process and she was absolutely amazing! She was prompt with every email and answered all of my questions. The best part of all was the day of my wedding I actually was relaxed and happy. I did not have one second of stress because in the back round Alexandra coordinated all of my vendors for me. She was so sweet to us for the beginning to end. I just cant thank her enough. Overall this hotel had the most amazing staff. Everyday anyone who we spoke to was so accommodating and professional, but most of all kind. This was told to me from all of guest who stayed there. All I hear about now is when are we going back! I am talking about from the bellman to front desk to wait staff. My husband favorite was Rita she worked on the poolside. She was so kind to our sons and her and my husband were like buddies for the week. He even invited her to the wedding. She was so professional that she wouldn't go, but we would have loved it. Hahaha.

Our Wedding was spectacular and the San Juan Marriott Resort made everything perfect. We used Alfredo Valentine from Couture Bridal Photography for our Wedding Photography, who was the icing on the cake. Our guests loved the resort and ease of getting around with everything just foot steps away. Alfredo from Couture Bridal Photography spent the day after our wedding going to all the best sites around San Juan and the island for the most amazing pictures for our album. I completely recommend the San Juan Marriott Resort for any wedding in Puerto Rico and Couture Bridal Photography the #1 Wedding Photographer in Puerto Rico, who suggested we host our Wedding at the San Juan Marriott Resort when we started planning our wedding day a year ago!

We contracted San Juan Marriott Resort and Stellaris Casino in September 2015 for our destination wedding in September 2016. The resort was our venue for three separate events over three days: Welcome Reception (Friday), Ceremony/Reception (Saturday) and Brunch (Sunday). We visited the site together (bride & groom) during March 2016. It was then we met Roxy (social sales manager) and Erick (senior event manager) to view the event locations, rooms, and food tasting. It was extremely difficult to decide on a menu for our three events because everything was magnificent. Both Roxy and Erick were extremely accommodating during our five day visit and answered all of our questions to our satisfaction. Erick worked closely with us and our guests for the room block. He provided consistent updates as requested on the status of our room block.
On the week of our wedding, we arrived on Wednesday prior to the wedding. There was some confusion on the room type for the bridal suite, and we were immediately upgraded to the Vice Presidential Suite on the Penthouse floor without any additional charges! Erick made sure to upgrade our VIP guests (parents, bridal party, etc) rooms to oceanfront or ocean view rooms. The front desk staff distributed our welcome bags to our guests as they checked in free of charge! On our wedding day, the groom’s room and the bride’s room were provided with birthday balloons and another cheese platter (note: the bride and groom share the same birthday and now wedding anniversary). Roxy worked seamlessly with our wedding planner to make our day exceedingly special. During the reception, guests commented on how delicious the food tasted. The welcome reception and brunch were no exception. Our friends kept asking how we managed to put together such an amazing wedding weekend and it was largely due to Roxy, Erick and the entire Marriott staff who provided exceptional customer service all year long. We can't wait to visit the Marriott again!

We booked the Marriott about a year and a half before our October 2015 wedding, and the wedding team actually changed within the first 6 months of the planning process. The Marriott didn't immediately notify us of the change, but, after sending a few emails, we were introduced to our new contact Rose Ann. Rose Ann and our wedding planner, Rosalina Torres, worked closely throughout the whole process to ensure that everything went incredibly smoothly. My mom and I were able to visit the Marriott about four months before our wedding, and we immediately loved Rose Ann! She was incredibly accommodating and friendly, and she went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. During the wedding week, Rose Ann always made a point to find us and see how we were doing. Most of our guests had never been to Puerto Rico, and the Marriott went far beyond their expectations. The entire staff was warm, welcoming, and attentive. The hotel itself has fantastic facilities including a great beach and pool. It's close to convenient places like Starbucks and CVS, and it's a 10-15 minute cab ride from Old San Juan. For the wedding itself, we were very happy with the cocktail hour area, terrace, and ballroom used for our reception. It is fairly typical of a hotel space, but the grand chandeliers and ocean front terrace made it a fantastic space for our event. Perhaps the best surprise was how phenomenal the food was! I expected basic hotel food, but the Marriott had a huge array of both traditional and Puerto Rican cuisine that our guests loved! We also received endless comments about how well-cooked and prepared everything was. Finally, we have to give a shout out to Sammie, our personal waiter, and the bartender who worked our event! They were both rockstars who kept up with the busy pace the entire night. I would absolutely recommend the Marriott to anyone looking to have a destination wedding in Puerto Rico!

My husband and I had our ceremony and cocktail hour at this location and I must say we were blown away with how amazing the Marriott staff made our stay! Roxy was absolutely amazing and did everything she good to make our day special. She was extremely responsive, she always got back to me in a timely manner. Which was great because the person I was working with before did not make communication easy at all. I am over the moon happy that she ended up being our event coordinator. She welcomed us and our four children when we arrived at the hotel and set up food and drinks for us at a private table and went through every detail with me to make sure our ceremony was correct. There was some confusion with our room situation and our flowers but she made sure it was all figured out with as little headache as possible. She kept in constant contact with us the day of the ceremony. And even arranged taxi service for our family to get to Old San Juan for our reception. Our beach wedding was flawless! This a beautiful property and every one was extremely accommodating. I highly recommend this hotel and Roxy for planning any event!

The San Juan Marriott Stellaris was not only our Ceremony and Reception Venue, but they also deserve a review for their catering that had excellent food and great service from the staff. Their chef, Jose Jarra, whom we got to meet during our food tasting is brilliant and takes great pride in his work. We couldn't have been happier with the appetizers, soup, salad, and entree selected for our guests, very pleased with the quality, presentation, and above all great taste.

The marriott is such an elegant place to have your wedding. we are very please to have made our wedding day memories there. Susana Mendoza and Alia were very helpful and flexable to what we wanted.

We scheduled several appointments to view venues for our destination wedding in Puerto Rico. From our first contact with them they were helpful and willing to customize our wedding with us. Although staff changed several times throughout the process they were accommodating and went above and beyond to accommodate our requests including having our yorkie be part of our ceremony on the Condado Terrace. It was a dream setting throughout all the spaces we rented, the food was delicious and the staff were invested in making sure it all went smoothly. I can not say enough good things about the staff. I would highly recommend putting this on the top of your list of places to choose for your wedding!

Our wedding was a huge success. The food, the drink, the accomodations were all great. The staff worked with us to make sure everything was just as we wanted.
The hotel should have lifeguards on the beach and should work diligently to do so.

My husband and I were just married on the 25th of April...We live in Indiana so very far from Puerto Rico, and I felt as though the process was very smooth and I did not worry because Aaron was ALWAYS available if I needed him or had a question. I am so glad we were married in Puerto Rico by Aaron..the ceremony was beautiful and he made us all laugh! Thank you so much for everything Aaron!! Hopefully we see you again for another wedding:)

We had a blast hosting our wedding at this beautiful resort. The setting was gorgeous for a beach wedding. Alia P. (our contact at the resort) was awesome in answering all of my questions and there were quite a few! And she was great in accomodating the many changes, up until the day of our wedding.

I loved that we were able to take their options and customize it to fit our budget and our needs.

We were very impressed by the San Juan Marriot Stellaris and Casino. Our ceremony was held on Condado Beach at sunset. The reception was poolside at the hotel. Our guests enjoyed their dinner while cooling off to the light beach breeze. If you choose to have your wedding at the Marriot please please request Eunice Vargas (eunice.vargas@marriothotels.com)as your event planner. My dream day would not have come true without her guidance, advice, and daily support. Eunice is aware that every bride is on a budget and wilk def work with you to come up with ways to save money. Eunice was on point the day of the wedding making sure everything was perfect and ensuring tasks were being done on time. Eunice is very attentive to detail. For example, right before i walked towards the beach to be married she whispered,"Remember to hold your flowers at your waist." She wanted to make sure that the photos would look perfect. Eunice will make sure that you leave San Juan a happy bride!

This vendor was great! We had our ceremony and reception here. Our ceremony was held on the poolside deck which was very romantic and intimate. Our ceremony was held in the Atlantic room which overlooks the beach as well. It was very intimate but comfortable and romantic. Eunice helped us with all of our arrangements, Pao-Pei helped with our marriage license and both were very accomodating, accessible and helpful! I would definitely recommend this place for a destination wedding.

The owners and staff at San Juan Marriot were superb! They were extremely helpful, professional and truly a joy to work with. Our reception was just as we hoped it would be! I would highly recommend this facility to anyone looking for a catered reception in a beautiful and elegant environment. Thank you so much!

I cannot say enough good things about the San Juan Marriott! We got off to a rocky start with a bad wedding coordinator. However, the Marriott realized she was not doing her job and they more then made up for it. They upgraded us to a Presidential suite and provided additional flowers and decorations for our reception- which looked amazing! The day of my wedding included several surprises (nothing to do with the Marriott) and the staff helped to resolve all issues quickly without any guests realizing. The food was excellent- not what you would expect from a hotel. The area is great- plenty of stuff to do for your guests. On top of everything, my father got sick after the wedding and had to be taken to the hospital. The Marriott sent security guards with us to translate and provided in room doctor care during his recovery at their cost.

My husband and I were married at the San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino in April 2010. It was a destination wedding, so our 60 guests stayed here, as well. Each and every guest absolutely loved the hotel. We worked with Susanna Mendoza in their event planning department. She was an absolute joy to work with. She did everything she could to make us happy and was very responsive to our inquiries for the entire year leading up to our ceremony. We did not have our reception here, but we did have a Newleywed brunch in one of their banquet rooms (which overlook the ocean!) and everything ran smoothly. Strongly recommended.

We had a wonderful stay at the Resort. The staff went above and beyond to make our wedding and our honeymoon great. The day of the wedding they sent us champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. We had a small wedding (8 + bride & groom). When it was time for the wedding one of their event staff made sure that no one interfered, including having the beach staff stop collecting chairs so they wouldn't be making noice or be in the background. It was the extra touches that made our stay awesome. I highly recommend the San Juan Marriott Resort for a wedding venue.

The food was excellent!!!!!! The wedding coordinator Pao-Pei was fantastic!!!!! She made everything perfect and took care of all my needs!!! The beach ceremony was absolutely gorgeous!

We had a great time spending a week at the Marriott during our destination wedding. Roxy was a big help, however I had 3 different coordinators over the course of 10 months. It all turned out beautifully and very cost effective. My guests were very impressed.

Events Team needs to communicate better with the rest of the hotel departments, mostly with the Front Desk, to avoid last minute inconsistencies.
During the whole pre-wedding process it was kind of difficult to receive prompt responses to emails and phone calls.

We choose the San Juan Marriott Resort and Stellaris Casino for our cocktail party and reception. We had the ceremony at a Catholic church near by called Santa Teresita. We were married January 25th, 2014.

We choose this particular Marriott because they have a ballroom large enough to accommodate our 200 guest and the ballroom has access to a terrace in which smoking is allowed (we had a cigar roller at our wedding).

The location of this hotel could not have been more perfect! It is located in the center of Condado surrounded by bars, restaurants, and spectacular beach views! It is also a short 20 minute cab ride from the Luiz Muñoz Marin International Airport.

At first the event staff was very accommodating and very responsive to all our questions and phone calls. However, the moment the contract was signed and the deposit given that all changed. It was extremely hard to get in contact with our assigned wedding coordinator at the hotel. A month would pass by before I received an e-mail response or a call back. This was extremely frustrating and added unnecessary stress to our wedding planning process. She also failed to set up connecting rooms for the bride's family which made the check-in process very difficult, since our request could not met by the hotel at the time. We were very DISAPPOINTED with her responsiveness and the time it took to get things accomplished!

The hotel was accommodating and flexible when setting up the food tasting. My husband (then fiancé) is a chef and the hotel chef was very responsive to his likes and dislikes...he even went as far as to follow a recipe my husband gave him for clam chowder.....which turned out amazing the day of the wedding!

The day of the reception the food was delicious and everything was done according to our specifications! The hotel staff was awesome that day and everything went off without a hitch! Our guest loved the ambiance of the hotel and really enjoyed its many amenities!

Marriott's food for the wedding was truly wonderful. The room block accommodations were great and easy for our guest to book.
We chose the Marriott because they provided an event planner to help with the menu, event layout, logistics, and day of event oversight. Though we knew the planner was not a wedding planner, we still feel as though they could have been more helpful to coordinate. I wanted to make choices 9-6 months before the event, but the coordinator was generally slow to get back to me and wanted to wait until closer to the event to plan. I did not appreciate having to make most choices 1 month before and the week of the event.

The space is beautiful from the Ocean Terrance the ocean views are breathtaking, the ballroom foyer and ballroom space so beautiful. The sangria during cocktail hour and the Puerto Rican buffet was so tasty. The planning team was super responsive and a pleasure to work with. The presidential suite has breathtaking views and super spacious. The staff during cocktail and dinner were so sweet and attentive. The small downside was the second you left a plate of food or drink unattended they were too quick in cleaning up. My husband and I were catered from the second we entered the ballroom space, we didn’t have to go to the bar or buffet the servers were quick to serve us. Overall beautiful and great service.

We had a beatiful wedding on the Condado terrace overlooking the beach, and a great cocktail hour and reception indoors in the American Foyer and Ballroom.

I have to say that Susanna Mendoza, the wedding coordinator, did a fabulous job and was very helpful at every step of the planning process. In the end, our wedding turned out great and she was very accomodating and even upgraded us to the Presidential Suite on our wedding night.

However, the rest of the hotel and staff had many issues and while I would highly recommend Susanna, I am lukewarm about the Marriott.

Here are the good things about the Marriott:
- The location is great. Very convenient to the airport, to Old San Juan nightlife, and the beach (right outside the hotel).
- The hotel itself is very nice. We had a beautiful ocean view room before moving to the amazing Presidential suite, and both rooms were great. The amenities are also great - we used their gym and spa, and our guests liked the pool. We also had our rehearsal dinner in their Ristorante Tuscany's private room, which was fantastic - the food was good, and all of our guests had a great time. There are also lots of great photo ops around the hotel, which our photographer took full advantage of.
- The food for the reception was fantastic. We didn't get to taste it ahead of time, but Susanna met with us at their La Vista Grill and let us taste that in lieu of an official tasting - all of which was great.
- The space they had for our wedding was beautiful and convenient. The event flowed right from the terrace outstide to the indoor foyer, then the ballroom, which was highly convenient for us and our guests (most of whom stayed at or nearby the hotel).
- We had a lower guest count than expected, so we got a lot of upgrades. I would have preferred a price reduction, but Susanna threw in lots of great extras, including an extra hour of open bar, extra mojitos, a dessert station, etc. so we really got our money's worth in the end.

Here's what is not so great about the Marriott:
- They are overwhelmed and understaffed, and it shows. I had several problems along the way, and although Susanna was exceptionally helpful, everyone else I dealt with was unhelpful, slow, and even rude. Before I worked with Susanna, I dealt with Omar Negron, who was unprofessional and unhelpful. He overbooked our original wedding date, and called me only after it was too late to switch to another venue, so we had to stick with the Marriott and settle for a different day (and the only thing he offered to make up for his mistake was $5 off the room block). To top it off, he also promised us a beach wedding, but we were later told that another party had reserved the beach so we could only use the terrace - this was highly unexpected as Omar did not inform us of a separate procedure for reserving the beach, only that we had it, no problem. In the end, we liked the terrace - we just would've appreciated being told the truth from the beginning.
- The events department is having staffing issues. I was initially assigned to a staff coordinator that either quit or was fired, and no one informed me - it was only after repeated emails and phone calls that I finally was told that they were in the process of hiring someone new who would help me with my wedding. This didn't happen - they did not hire anyone, and they assigned me to Susanna instead, who was fortunately great, but I think she had a lot on her plate since she was the only planner on staff.
- There was a serious lack of communication between the events department and everyone else at the hotel. As a result, a lot of things in our contract were overlooked or forgotten about, and if I hadn't been on top of it, many more things would have fallen through the cracks. For example, we were promised a limo ride to the airport the day after our wedding as part of our contract - they forgot to book it, and Susanna was not working that day so no one at the front desk knew what to do. They ended up giving us a crappy cab instead because it was too late to get the limo - they paid for it, but I would've much preferred our original limo ride. They also charged us for an extra night in a room we didn't stay in - when I called the billing department, they were extremely unhelpful. I told them I checked out a day earlier than it said on my bill and they said they would have to confirm with events and security - it was obvious they didn't believe me. After waiting several days without a response, I finally contacted Susanna directly and she took care of everything and also assigned Marriott rewards points to my account (which the billing department of course forgot to do). Once Susanna got involved, it got done, but the billing department was horrible and unhelpful.

The Marriott is a nice place and we had a great wedding, but I'm not convinced it was worth the hassle. I would recommend seriously considering other venues, and if you do pick this one, get EVERY LAST DETAIL in writing, right from the very beginning, and make sure you're crystal clear about who you're working with and what you're getting.

The staff leaves so much to be desired. So UNSAT. Over $600/night...I could have gotten a better experience at a $200/night hotel in Fajardo. The views are beautiful but the mismanagement of literally every amenity makes it hard to truly enjoy it.

We booked this venue and at first we thought we had done a wonderful job. The sales team was nice and responsive. After signing the contract it all went down hill. They failed to ever email us again, never sent us a vendor list, essentially had no communication. I had to reach out multiple times to simply obtain receipts for my payments and obtain information. The venue its self is beautiful and amazing, but the poor communications and response from the venue is what makes this whole process a nightmare. I honestly wished I had looked at other venues and made more calls before I picked this one. Weddings are stressful already, this place made it even more stressful.

ALSO they do not offer or provide an area for the BRIDE and GROOM to get ready separately. They offer ONE complementary suite where both are expected to get ready together.

This hotel was a nightmare to work with from start to finish.
The grand ballroom lost power in the middle of our wedding. The food we chose at the tasting was not what we received during the wedding. They ignored my allergy warnings that included emails with names , tables, and allergies as well as place cards with allergy warnings. They were negligent and still gave two of my guest an allergy triggering food. The event staff never answers emails from bride or groom let alone guest. Two rooms I stayed in had a problem with water. One had a leaking light fixture in our bathroom . Ac didn’t work, disorganized, no communication. The hotel manager is never available, I’ve been trying to reach Jose González since May 1st , I’ve left messages, emails… nothing. I did however speak with his assistant Olga on May 7th she said either Jose González the gm would reach out to me or the director of marketing Very unprofessional. No one is taking accountability. They did however comp me a one night stay, resort fee , a 10 dollar bottle of wine so they feel that was enough. It’s so disheartening to have such an awful experience with the Marriott, their reputation did not follow through at this resort nor with the event staff.
The bellman, valet, waiters and front desk were all amazing though. It’s the only positive about this hotel. The head of catering and food , the front desk manager as well as the head of housekeeping, we’re mortified by all the events that occurred, they were very pleasant to speak with and they seemed apologetic. Juan fuentes tried to amend things, he was helpful and trying to be as flexible as possible. As an overall this resort is suppose to be 4 stars resort, but seriously the service is no more courtyard. Awful awful!!!! Do not even humor this location until they get their act together.

My fiancé and I traveled to San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino from New York City in anticipation of seeing their wedding venues and meeting with the coordinator for our wedding next year. Unfortunately, the Sales Coordinator was not only there to receive us but her staff had no record of our confirmed date we made with Alexandra Torres Marrero on file. It was very disappointing traveling such a far distance to discover they were not prepared for us and made no attempt to rectify their mismanagement. They sent us a person to tell us the venues were not available for viewing due to prior bookings something that should have been communicated with us prior to our arrival as we booked our trip based on their confirmed availability for us. The young lady they sent also had little substantial knowledge of any wedding information so needless to say she was not much help to us. What really bothered me, was the fact my fiancé was really looking forward to seeing this venue and we were both left highly disappointed and frustrated that no one from their sales team cared enough about our day to make the time for one of the most important days of our lives. They did nothing to rectify the error on their part and make things right. Even now as I write this review no one has reached out from their team to apologize for the inconvenience and frustration they caused us. Overall, we left feeling very disappointed and ultimately decided that if this is how they conduct business, this would not be the venue for us.
