You can really tell Samia loves weddings. She is incredibly professional and is enthusiastic about the industry. She works really hard to deliver on deadlines, always ahead of time. While her creativity side is evident, she also remembers the business aspect that brings her entire photography practice together. Pay whatever she charges because the peace of mind she gives you during the wedding planning process is worth every dime. She was the one vendor I did not have to worry about because I knew she had everything under control. I had my wedding pictures taken by Samia, and I can confidently say that if you’re looking for someone to capture your special moments, she is the photographer you need.
Not only are her photos absolutely beautiful, but she also makes the entire experience enjoyable and stress-free. Samia is incredibly kind, patient, and professional. She travels throughout the DMV area, making her a great option for couples in the region. One of the things I appreciated most was how comfortable she made me feel during the shoot. I’m naturally shy and awkward in front of the camera, and I usually don’t enjoy having my picture taken specially in public. From the very beginning, Samia guided me through every pose and gave clear direction, which helped me feel much more confident and relaxed.
She paid close attention to every detail, from the lighting to the scenery, and always made sure everything looked perfect before taking a photo. Her dedication and eye for detail truly showed in the final results. The pictures turned out even better than I could have imagined, and I couldn’t be happier with them.
I highly recommend Samia to any newly engaged couple looking for a wedding photographer who is talented, professional, and genuinely cares about her clients. She also photographs other events, so don’t hesitate to give her a chance because you’ll be glad you did! -

The photographer is one of the first wedding decisions that we made, and it was also one of the best. Samia's team, Megan and Jenna, came to shoot our wedding and they made the day so easy. Family photos were smooth and efficient. During the reception, Megan and Jenna seemed to be everywhere! Each time a friend had their cell phone pulled out to take a photo, Megan or Jenna would swoop in and instantly be there to take a professional photo for us as well. It was impressive! All in all, it was a great experience, and I would absolutely hire Samia/her team again. We can't wait to receive the entire gallery. -

We hired Samia to photograph our wedding this past November. What a fantastic decision that was! We saw her galleries and knew she would get great photos, but we were also really looking for a photographer who would put us at ease in front of the camera (since we'd never gotten professional photos together) - feeling comfortable was a huge priority for me and my now-husband. During our first call with Samia, she was friendly and professional, and she shared thoughtful responses to our many questions. During our engagement photo shoot, she gave us plenty of helpful direction while still allowing us to have fun and be ourselves. It was exactly the experience my husband and I were looking for. Samia delivered beautiful photos that really captured our dynamic. Of course, the same was true for our wedding day. Not only did she get amazing photos of me and my husband, but she also expertly handled the family photos; there were a lot of people, including several small children, and Samia made the process simple and easy. Right from the get go, Samia was professional, shared lots of great ideas and portfolios that fit well for our smaller wedding, and was so sweet and flexible when it came to our scheduling (e.g, sunrise engagement photos at the National Mall). She also made it easy for us by planning the shoots and routinely checking in with us. For our wedding videography, her team made use of modern and traditional perspectives such as using a drone camera and a traditional 8mm camera. Samia's Studios is the total package. -

Samia Studios is Incredible!
Samia was absolutely incredible! She photographed my engagement photos and wedding photos, and I am over the moon the moon happy with her work. My now husband is uncomfortable with taking pictures and she made him and myself feel completely comfortable and gave us so much direction which made the pictures turn out amazing. She has such a sweet and great personality. It feels like you are working with your best friend! She knows the entire DMV area and has so many suggestions for engagement photo locations. She also gave us so much peace of mind on wedding day by having everything planned out and more than enough support for the bride party and the groom party. She captured all of the special moments that I wanted and beyond. The cherry on top is the gallery she puts together. It is a completely organized gallery sectioned out by order of events. Couples Session
We had an hour session with Samia at the Washington National Cathedral! She was so lovely and personable. She made us feel super comfortable with the camera and honestly, it felt like we were hanging out with a friend during our shoot. Our photos turned out beautifully edited and natural. Samia is the absolute BEST! We found her a couple years ago before our wedding and she has been there photographing our most special memories to date so far - our engagement session, our wedding, and most recently our maternity session! A Dream Photographer!!
My fiancé and I recently hired Samia to do our engagement shoot, and it was the best decision ever!! She was kind, professional, and patient with us since we’re not accustomed to being in front of the camera.
As a local wedding planner, Samia and I have worked together on many special events. Although I have seen her work, it was such a different (and magical) experience being photographed by her. She encouraged my fiancé and I to be authentic and joyful and the photos came out so beautifully!

My vendor fell through a month before my wedding. I was scrambling to find a new vendor, and had to move the wedding to VA instead. I found Samia, and immediately was thoroughly impressed by her response. She booked us a Meet and Greet through Zoom, and was very kind, caring and professional. With the craziness that a wedding brings, Samia's flexibility, kindness, and willing to roll with punches, was one of the best choices I made for my wedding day. The pictures are beautiful, and she was able to capture "us"!
She was able to work with the unexpected which we had plenty of those throughout our day, and was able to capture some great memories for my husband and I!

I can only say nothing but good things about Samia and her team. First of all when she mentioned she really give importance of every wedding that she shoots, we truly felt it. She’s always on top of everything, she’s so fast to catch things that can go wrong and give you helpful recommendations. Her talent is on point. They made us feel calm and positive throughout our wedding. Her and her team truly saved our wedding. It was unfortunate that our guests gave them a hard time as they were blocking them, but they were so good adjusting to difficult work environment and remained positive. They go above and beyond what they do. I can’t thank them enough. We will forever recommend them to anyone who gets married! No matter where!!! -

From our engagement photos to our wedding day Samia made us feel relaxed and valued. She is also perhaps the best hype girl when taking photos. Never have we felt so comfortable being romantic in front of someone - let alone a camera. She truly does seem meant to do this. She loves love and it comes across in her excitement and energy. We also took her recommendations for almost all of our vendors which was also the best decision we could have made. The day went seamlessly and our photos are fun, stunning, and feel like us.

We reached out to Samia to take our reception photos after seeing the amazing photos she took of her clients and we made the best decision. We had snowfall that day at the location and we were freezing but she kept us motivated and captured amazing portraits of us in the snow. She directed us on how to pose and even got amazing candids throughout the event. She was really patient while taking photos with family and she really knew how to capture every special moment.

Mark and I are normally very awkward photography subjects, but with Samia’s gentle guidance and suggestions as she took photos, we felt very at ease. We were able to smile naturally and feel all the joy and jubilation of our special day—Samia was able to capture these cherished moments in a beautiful, organic way.

My husband and I had a portrait session with Samia last month. She was very easy to work with and super sweet! She was open to giving us direction while also letting us do our own thing, which we loved. She provided encouragement throughout the whole session and made it super comfortable (and fun) for us! We met Samia through our Covid Elopement celebrant Jeff, from “Weddings by Jeff”, he highly recommended her, and he did not steer us wrong. After looking at her Samia’s Studios website and her very active Instagram page which showed off her romantic, modern, yet timeless photographic style. I knew from seeing the quality and style of her images she would do a wonderful job capturing our intimate elopement in Old Town Alexandria. I reached out to Samia and she was wonderfully responsive to all of my questions and concerns via phone and email. She has a fabulous online system that guides you every step of the way and keeps all communications between you and she straight for reference which is a huge blessing while wedding planning. I knew I could expect responses from Samia within 24 hours and usually much quicker than that.
There were only my husband, myself, our celebrant and Samia at our original May 2020 Elopement and Samia immediately put us at ease with her kind and warm personality and gentle suggestions for poses and placements at our venue, Calvert House. Samia did everything she could to help us relax and take wonderful pictures. At no point did we feel self-conscious or awkward, which is a miracle - with two subjects who hadn’t left the house for months during a Pandemic and who both often feel awkward in posed photos, but Samia set us right at ease. Her efforts resulted in stunning, intimate pictures of great quality with wonderful angles and lighting that really captured all the intimacy and love of our elopement, which we’ll treasure forever.
Samia did such a wonderful job photographing our Elopement and we received so many compliments from family and friends on the elopement photos that 1.5 years later (thanks Covid) we again hired Samia’s Studio’s for our Formal Wedding and Reception in December of 2020 at the Elkridge Furnace Inn. Knowing Samia’s quality, we booked her full wedding package including 8 hours of pictures, a video and a wedding album. We were so excited to work with Samia again because we knew how well her style and personality matched with ours.
The connection and ease we felt with Samia showed again in our wedding photos. The images - particularly from our first look and intimate “Bride and Groom” photos before our wedding and our wedding party photos which included our children - made us both cry when we viewed them. The light Samia captured in these photos and the love she captured between my husband and my self and our family and friends enchanted everyone who has seen these images – they are full of warmth, humor and genuine romance.
Samia also was particularly sensitive about photographing my husband’s daughter who is autistic and quite camera shy. He literally has never had a good photo of her taken. Samia took many lovely photos of her at our wedding celebration, in many she is actually smiling, which was previously unheard of – Samia really took the time to make her comfortable with her and the camera. I can’t wait to see them printed in our wedding album and to frame some for Father’s day. Her ability to make the entire wedding party comfortable, while also staying organized and helping to keep us all on track shows through in her entire finished product. The pictures taken as a whole are stunning, capturing glowy flattering light at just the right times, for just the right pictures.
On a practical note, for both the elopement and formal wedding day, Samia was consistently communicative using her online system, emails and phone & text. She checked in with us regularly and frankly was a blessing to work with when other members of our Wedding team were often not as solidly professional. Her eye for detail was astounding. She navigated complex family dynamics and moved swiftly though portraits knowing when to blend in, and when to check in with us about certain photos we had requested to keep things moving in a timely way.
I loved that many family members asked later if Samia was a friend because of how easily her personality blended with our group. She and her videographer Megan are both lovely people anyone would be pleased to have attend their wedding. The Video they shot and edited was wonderful and we will treasure it forever. My husband and I watch it on repeat. - I’m so incredibly grateful we decided to add that option to our package. I’m looking forward to framing some of her beautiful photos for our new home and I can’t wait to see our Fine Art Album that Samia is in the process of preparing (It took me forever to choose my “favorite” photos for the album because I literally had hundreds!).
If you’re looking for a cheap photographer, I don’t think Samia is the one for you. Nor should she be for all that she offers. But if you value photography and want someone who is a master of their craft and a true professional all-round, plus real value for your money look no further.
Plus, she offers something that not all photographers can – true flexibility. Our wedding was postponed due to COVID 3 times and Samia did not miss a beat, even thoughtfully sending us many updated schedules and checking in with us frequently to keep our spirits up during lockdown!

To say that we loved working with Samia on our wedding day would be a huge understatement. From our initial consultation call, to our engagement photoshoot, to the big day, Samia was responsive, friendly, professional, encouraging, and creative. She helped bring our vision to life and made every part of the planning process seamless. She helped created the timeline for our wedding day and worked very well with our other vendors. She could tell when we needed a break from taking photos and was prepared to improvise when rain drove us under cover. On top of being a delight to work with, the photos we received for both our engagement shoot and wedding day turned out beautifully and we are thrilled with our gallery. Photos were returned to us VERY quickly after both of our shoots, and we have SO many incredible shots to frame and share. Samia's second shooter at our wedding was also incredibly professional, talented, and kind. So where do I begin? I am literally so amazed by our photos! Samia did such a spectacular job, I am beyond impressed. Should you get your photos taken by her? It shouldn’t even be a question. Yes do it! We got all the photos from our shoot really quickly. Did I mention how comfortable she made us feel during our shoot? She was open to an adventure for our engagement photos (a hike down to a waterfall) and has so many ideas to make your photos look natural rather than staged. Samia shot my wedding to Elaine Smith Genser on July 5, 2019. She did a stellar job – we could not have been happier with the beautiful photographs that she took with her professional eye or the grace with which she managed our friends and family. But the entire process of working with her was also a real pleasure. She was easy to hire, with many different portfolios of her past work online and she answered all our questions quickly and fully. Once we hired her, she met Elaine for lunch at the venue to plan out the photography for our big day. She was very sweet, sending us a bunch of empty picture frames for our new house and a Starbucks gift card for Valentine’s Day. And everything worked incredibly smoothly on our wedding day, with the plan executed flawlessly. Unlike other seasoned photographers who often like to make clients pay per print or exorbitant added fees for the high-resolution photos, Samia provides them all included in her package, without a watermark, to her clients. She was superfast too, providing us a well organized online gallery of more than 850 of the finished photos within a week after our wedding. In short, Samia was a rock star! We will definitely hire her again and recommend her very highly for anyone looking for a fabulous photographer -

She offered us a great package and really went far above what we were looking for in a photographer. We were so excited to see the final photos and video and they did an incredible job! I had Samia recommended by a coworker and decided to get my pictures done by her. Samia was extremely professional, very kind, and went above and beyond!!! I was getting some very late senior photos done and they turned out beyond beautiful!!! Not only was she very professional, but the best part about her was how she saw the vision I had in mind for my photos. She’s practically a mind reader when it comes to the client! We took shots with many different outfits. She took the most beautiful photos of myself, my family, and my dog! She also got a few very funny pictures that were just beyond adorable!!! Samia was extremely patient and never rushed my time even though there were SO many mosquitos, and we were probably past the hour time we paid for! She never once told me to hurry up or rushed me in the slightest! She had no problem with a slight makeup change either! She was so incredibly patient and so incredibly kind! Before we left she made sure that we got all of the photos I wanted and that I was satisfied with the different settings and changes! The pictures also came back very quickly and were very easy to access! While it’s true that I won’t be getting more senior photos done, because senior year only comes once, if I need any other sort of photos done, I will not be going anywhere else other than Samia!!! Thanks Samia for my beautiful pictures and one of a kind experience!! I would recommend her to anyone and everyone!!! -
