We truly don’t have enough words to express our gratitude for Samantha! From the very beginning, her warmth, professionalism, and extraordinary attention to detail made our wedding day feel seamless and truly unforgettable.

Samantha took charge of the timeline with such confidence and care—always three steps ahead and thinking of the little things before we even had the chance to. Day of, her creativity and calm energy made us feel completely at ease, even during the moments when we felt most awkward. Every direction she gave was clear, thoughtful, and made us feel confident in front of the camera (which is saying something—we're not usually photo people!).

Samantha was a master at keeping our timeline on track without ever making us feel rushed. She made sure every photo we hoped for was captured—and then some. When our outdoor ceremony plans were turned upside down by 12 hours of rain, she pivoted instantly, scouting beautiful backup locations on the fly and delivering stunning images that truly look like they were part of the plan all along. Her ability to make real-time decisions with grace and confidence was nothing short of amazing.

Our guests couldn’t stop raving about her kind presence and how gracefully she moved through the day—always in the right place at the right time, never missing a moment. And when we received our sneak peek? WOW. Absolutely obsessed. Each photo bursts with emotion, capturing the real, raw, joy-filled moments of our day. We’ve already watched the slideshow at least 100 times (with tears every single time).

Amazing Photos!

Samantha was such a delight to work with. Before the wedding, Samantha worked hard to make sure our wedding timeline was perfect, which helped us to have a wonderful day. She met with us multiple times to plan out every set of photos so that we had nothing to stress about the day of. On the day of our wedding, she made us feel comfortable and captured our happiness and love perfectly in her photos. Samantha even paid close attention to me saying how much it meant for my grandmother to be at the wedding, and she decided to take extra photos of her throughout the night for us which we absolutely loved! She also got us all of our photos in a timely manner and they came out wonderfully! We highly recommend Samantha!

Amazing photographer!

Samantha is truly an amazing photographer, and person! From the first phone call, to all our meetings, she really helped us to create the perfect day. She was so organized and helped us plan out a timeline for the wedding day. When we got back our online gallery (which was a very quick turn around!) we were blown away. The photos came out better than we could have ever dreamed. They look like something out of a wedding magazine!! Wicked Wedding

Samantha was a joy to work with!
She helped get my wife and I to act naturally, and was even able to get some good photos of our unphotogenic family :p
She went above and beyond by taking the time to meet with us a few days before at our venue to take a look at lighting around the garden in prep for the big day.
The photos came out quickly (helped by the fact it was a small wedding early in the season) and we were easily able to send out our favorites and the whole list through email to attendees.

Wonderful Photographer!!

Samantha is an all-around incredible photographer to work with. She was so organized, professional, and reliable every step of the way, with thorough and timely communications and preparations. She was a lovely presence to have around on the day of the wedding: fun and flexible while simultaneously able to take charge and corral the bridal party, ensuring she could deliver what we had requested of her. It was very clear that she was extremely experienced and comfortable navigating a wedding day! Not to mention, we absolutely LOVE the final product and how she captured our special day. Beautiful Engagement/Minimony/Wedding Photos!

Samantha took the most beautiful photos for us for every step of our wedding process! We hired Samantha for our wedding photography and we were just so thrilled with our overall experience and our photos! Samantha was so thorough and thoughtful in all her responses to my many, many questions throughout the year prior to our wedding day. She developed a great day of timeline and was extremely open and communicative in terms of altering the schedule to meet all of our needs. She did all the work ahead of time so we didn't need to give her any direction the day of. She already knew the variety of photos we were looking for including family portraits. Incredible wedding photographer

We are beyond pleased with how our wedding photos turned out and have only wonderful things to say about working with Samantha. We were originally supposed to be married in June but unfortunately had to postpone when the pandemic affected our plans. Samantha was so helpful and flexible as we determined how best to move forward. We ended up getting married in August with a small ceremony and Samantha captured the day beautifully. Because of the pandemic, we had actually never met her in person or had time for our engagement shoot, but when we met Samantha on our wedding day it felt like we had already known her well and she instantly put us at ease. She was so thoughtful and conscientious of all our efforts to keep everyone safe and healthy. The photos turned out amazing and we are so grateful to have them as reminders of such a special day. Samantha is extremely professional and easy to work with and we absolutely cannot wait to work with her again for our reception next year with all of our guests!

Absolutely wonderful photographer!!!!

We were searching for wedding photographers near our venue (Nashoba Valley Winery) and found Samantha Melanson online. I liked the work that I viewed online, so we set up an appointment to meet with her. From the moment we sat down, I knew she was the perfect photographer for us. She truly cares about your story, and uses the details to take the most amazing photos. We weren't going to do an engagement photo session, but she convinced us it would be worthwhile, and I cannot thank her enough. We went to an apple orchard where the trees were in full blossom, and it was truly one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. The pictures are amazing. Then on our wedding day, Samantha and her staff went above and beyond to make our day perfect, from the first look, to the family photos to pictures of our pup (who came just for the pictures). We also rented the Swoon Booth- (think photo booth but really just a backdrop and an ipad-type device on a tripod) and it was a HUGE hit. We have so many perfect photos of our wedding day and engagement, that it has been hard to choose which ones to frame. On top of everything else, Samantha is just a wonderful person. She is warm, friendly, smart and very knowledgeable about her craft. I feel like everything just fell into place when we booked her to shoot our wedding. HIGHLY recommend. Thank you, Samantha!!

Not only did Samantha provide us with amazing wedding photographs, she was wonderful to work with and integral to planning our wedding. We would have been lost without her! Best hire for our wedding!

Samantha did an amazing job with our wedding! We had a three-day South Asian-American fusion wedding and she captured all of the decor, dancing, and special moments perfectly. Not a single important memory was missed! She is also very skilled at capturing these candid photos without being too noticeable. We have been to many other weddings and the photographer is usually far more intrusive in order to set up the shots they want, but Samantha seems to have really figured out how to avoid this problem. Also, our family and guests can get pretty photo-happy themselves, trying to take lots and lots of their own photos (frequently right next to or in front of Samantha), but she has pretty incredible skill when it comes to managing large crowds and seemingly endless patience for interruptions during photos.

Regarding our big and long celebration, each event was held at a different venue (one outside under a tent during the evening, one inside a dark tv studio, one outside during the day, and one inside a ballroom), and we absolutely loved the photos from all the events. Her photography style is very candid and natural (which was our priority with finding the right photographer). My husband and I also tend to feel awkward with picture taking but she made us feel very comfortable throughout the engagement and wedding shoots. Samantha is also so organized, she honestly made the entire wedding planning process much easier. She helped us make the schedule for the day of our wedding ceremony and reception, and she helped keep us on schedule that day. Additionally, the wedding albums she created for us and our parents were beautiful! Overall, Samantha and her assistant photographer are easy going, talented, and highly professional people. Hiring Samantha was the best vendor decision we made.

I don't even know where to begin with Samantha...She is the sweetest, most genuine person we have ever met, we had so much fun working with her! Her work speaks for itself but we couldn't love our photos more. They were so unique and creative and encompassed everything we wanted to remember about our special day. She somehow managed to capture every little detail and look and special moment without us even realizing she was there. The memories that these hold and the love that explodes from every imagine is what makes her photography unique. I think what really sets her apart from others (besides her amazing talent) is that you can tell she genuinely loves what she does and that is rare! Do yourself a favor and book her!

We loved everything about working with Samantha Melanson Photography for our May 2018 wedding! Samantha is extremely talented, with a beautiful, romantic style of photography that is exactly what I wanted for our wedding photos. I cannot recommend Samantha highly enough. I was lucky enough to have worked with her for my sister's wedding and knew without question that I would not be able to find a better photographer for my own wedding. She is a master at her craft - capturing the perfect blend of formal and candid shots. She captured my favorite moments of the day, and all of my wedding photos bring a huge smile to my face when I look at them now. Plus, Samantha is so flexible and sweet, making her such a pleasure to work with. At the same time, she knows how to guide and direct our large wedding party/families during the day to make sure we stayed on task and got beautiful photos. I also can't recommend the Swoon Booth enough - not only was the photo booth so much fun during the wedding, those photos are so much fun to look back at now.

My wife and I are so happy with our wedding photos! We booked Samantha for our wedding day for 9 hours (we added an extra hour) which included a second photographer, Addie. Having two photographers was perfect; they were able to get a ton of photos of both of us getting ready and made the portrait sessions highly efficient. Samantha has an incredible eye and her light and airy photography style is absolutely stunning. We've received so many compliments so far; we really couldn't be happier with the way our photos came out!

I am honored to write this recommendation for Samantha Melanson Photography. Samantha is an amazing photographer and person. My husband and I were absolutely blown away by our wedding photos. Samantha did an incredible job photographing our October wedding, which took place at Holy Cross and the Publick House. We found out about her when we attended another wedding that she photographed, and the photos were gorgeous. We also were interested in the photobooth she manages (Swoon Booth). We were thrilled with the results!

We met with her before our wedding (in her adorable studio) to discuss our vision, and she really delivered. On the day of the wedding, she brought a second shooter (Kendal). It was great to have the extra coverage that two photographers can provide, and that was another big reason why we went with Samantha. She took lots of detail photos of our accessories, flowers, and centerpieces, which was great.

Samantha is a super friendly, calm, and easygoing person, which really helped. Our schedule ended up getting delayed by about thirty minutes because of something out of our control, and Samantha stepped up and managed to get all of the photos we asked for even with the time crunch.

The Swoon Booth was a great addition to the night. We loved getting to see our friends and family let loose and be goofy. This is by far the best photo booth I have seen, because the lighting makes everyone look fabulous.

Overall, my husband and i were so happy to work with Samantha and her colleagues. She made the whole process really easy, and I had no problem trusting her to do her job and capture beautiful images that we will treasure forever. I cannot wait to see our album!

Samantha was incredible to work with from start to finish. From our first meeting, we knew that she had to be our photographer; we booked that day! She is incredibly sweet and professional. I was very nervous about having my photos taken, but Samantha put all of my fears at ease. At our engagement shoot, she was encouraging and honestly, I forgot that she was there at times!

Samantha is very detailed oriented and organized which is so important for the wedding day. We had a timetable for the wedding planned out prior to day which ensured that everything went smoothly (her second shooter Addie was great and so helpful as well). Our photos are absolutely stunning; the colors, the lighting, everything! There was a perfect balance between the shots of the details, formals, and candids. Samantha perfectly captured the emotions of the day; I feel like I relive our wedding day each time I look! I highly recommend Samantha- you will not be disappointed!

Samantha was an amazing photographer to work with from the time we first met her to receiving our photos after the wedding. We felt like she was genuinely interested in us as a couple and spent a lot of time showing us her services and beautiful products at our initial meeting. We also had a chance to enter her "Swoon Booth" and knew that we had to have that at our wedding as well! We highly recommend having her shoot an engagement session before the wedding. We booked Samantha for our May 2016 wedding and we are so happy that we did! She takes BEAUTIFUL photos - she captures the right amount of lighting and doesn't over-edit. Samantha also does a great job of maintaining the right balance between detail shots, formal posed shots, and candids. Everything looks very natural. Samantha is super sweet and is so easy to work with. She helped us develop the perfect timeline for our wedding and helped us stick to it throughout the day. Samantha also got our pictures back to us extremely quickly - I know some photographers take months to get the edited photos back to the couple, but Samantha had them back to us within a month. I'd highly recommend booking with her. :)

Samantha Melanson and her assistance did a wonderful job photographing our wedding. We were not the normal couple getting married. It was our second wedding for both so we didn't want a ton of before shots with us getting ready. We also didn't have a huge bridal party, just our children. She was very understanding and flexible. She took photos at the church, during the reception at the church, and then came back to our house after to take photos on the lake. She was very accommodating working with the different locations and the weather. She had everything she needed to take the best photos including an umbrella for the rain sprinkles.
Our photos came out amazing! We Love them!! We would definitely recommend using her to my friends.

We booked Samantha to shoot our engagement photos in central Massachusetts based on a friend's recommendation. We received so many compliments on our engagement photos that we decided to book Samantha for our wedding, even though its out of state and she's never been to that venue before. I know that if we had picked any other photographer, I would be stressing about it until the wedding day hoping that they would come close to the impossibly high standard that Samantha set for us. The most common compliment we received was along the lines of "I've never seen engagement pictures turn out this beautiful". She showed up promptly to shoot our engagement photos and made sure we got all the shots we wanted (even after it got pretty dark out), she responds quickly to emails, and the quality of her work is unmatched. She can provide direction when needed, but also captures plenty of candid shots and let our session kind of flow freely. Even though we felt pretty awkward at first, she put us at east with her confidence, and somehow she turned this awkward couple into a really beautiful set of engagement pictures that we'll have forever. I can't wait to see what she does for our wedding.

If you book Samantha, you wont regret it. My husband and I spoke to 8 different photographers and Samantha was the last person we spoke to. We knew she was the one after we ended our phone call with her. She was well prepared with our initial skype meeting and she had an answer to all our questions. She's very flexible and she didnt get annoyed when I had a second one hour long skype phone call with her after our initial call.

We booked Samantha for both our engagement photos and the wedding. She did such an amazing job. My husband and I felt very awkward but when we got the pictures back you couldn't tell.

Our wedding photos came out amazing. Samantha has a very detailed form that you fill out before the big day so that both of you know exactly what you want. She made us feel super comfortable and she handled our very big Chinese family well. She doesn't try to pose us and let's us be ourselves. She's great at catching little moments and little details that you tend to miss out cause you're so busy.

After the wedding, Samantha would give us updates on the progress of our wedding. She's super sweet and sends us little surprises. It's the little things that she does that make her not just an amazing photographer but an all around great person to work with. Even though she is a little more expensive, she handles everything and you don't have to stress about anything.

Samantha was such a help on our wedding day. She helped us put together a timeline for the day which was extremely helpful! She showed up the morning of the wedding to begin with the girls and everything was extremely comfortable. She never made anything feel awkward which you never know as you are letting someone you met once or twice photograph one of the most intimate days and moments of your life!!! When we began wedding planning, my husband and I knew that one of our few “must haves” was hiring a good wedding photographer. Samantha absolutely exceeded our expectations in every way.

From the very start, Samantha was sweet, professional and so fun to work with. We adore all of her photography and are so, so happy with our engagement and wedding photos. During both our engagement session and wedding she made sure we were relaxed (a tall order given how nervous I was during the engagement session!) and having fun. One of the things that I love most about our photos is that they reflect how genuinely happy we were on both days. Samantha has great insight – she had so many tips for poses and always took an extra moment to get the right shot. At the same time, she really encouraged us to try out our ideas and she made sure we got every photo we wanted.

Beyond being a fantastic artist, Samantha is clearly incredibly knowledgeable about every aspect of photography, timely and very organized. She has a plan for everything and made sure that she really understood our “vision” for the wedding and what photos we wanted her to capture. We felt so at ease, knowing that she would be well prepared for the wedding and that she would help us plan out all of the photography logistics.

One of my favorite parts of the wedding night was walking through the gardens at our venue with just my husband, Samantha and her second shooter Addie. We got some amazing shots as the sun went down and more importantly, Samantha and Addie made sure that we were laughing and having fun the whole time. It was so nice to be able to have that quiet moment and truly indicative of our wonderful experience working with Samantha. My husband and I absolutely recommend hiring Samantha for your wedding!

As soon as I saw Samantha Melanson's blog I knew I wanted to hire her as our wedding photographer. When I spoke to her on the phone I was even more convinced that she was a good match for us. She's an animal lover just like my fiance and myself, and she didn't even bat an eyelash when I told her our dogs were going to be part of the wedding party! She's a very detail oriented person which I also liked very much. Months before the wedding she already had a detailed day of timeline that explained everything from the time coverage starts including directions on how to prepare the dress, shoes, rings, and other important things so that they can be photographed. She arrived 20 minutes early (which I LOVE!) and got right to work. Throughout the entire day she kept things moving so that we could get all of the pictures I requested. The guys really enjoyed working with her second shooter, Addie, as well. We also got the swoonbooth for our wedding and it was a huge hit with our guests!!! There was a line to get in the swoonbooth during the entire reception! I simply can't say enough good things about Samantha! We enjoyed working with her from start to finish and I'd recommend her to anybody!

When I got engaged, there was no doubt I wanted Samantha as our wedding photographer. When we decided to do a destination wedding in Aruba-on July 4th weekend, I had a feeling I would not be able to have her. I reached out and it just so happend she was available! My husband and I first decided on Samantha for our wedding photography because she was so very organized. When we first met with her, we were impressed by her answer to our question about how she keeps our data safe after the wedding (she immediately backs up the data cards, then keeps the cards in a fire-proof safe). We knew our wedding photographs would be in good hands with Samantha, and on top of everything, she is an absolute sweetheart and was fun to meet with.

In both our engagement shoot and our wedding photographs, Samantha did her best to put us at ease and help us to take beautiful pictures. Samantha and her assistant Addie did a great job wrangling our group - we really enjoyed talking and laughing with them throughout the day. We really felt that we were in the company of friends, which helped to make all of the photo op time comfortable and fun.

Overall, our wedding pictures far exceeded our expectations. Samantha listened well when we went through the details that were important to us to capture, and she did her best to get to everything we asked for. Samantha’s biggest strength is in capturing the emotions and personal aspect of the day, and the pictures she took bring us back to how we felt during our big day. Addie did a wonderful job of capturing some special candid moments as well! We have received nothing but compliments on our stunning wedding photos – we can’t wait until we have the album in our hands to enjoy!

Samantha did our engagement photos that we absolutely adored and we recently got married and working with her was like having your best friend coordinate your day. She is such a genuine person who I believe is truly happy for everyone. She is always smiling and is just the sweetest thing you'll ever meet. She kept in touch as the big day approached checking in to see how everything was going and letting us know how excited she was about the whole thing. I loved that! She did a time line for us to avoid any stressful situations and so that everyone knew what was going on and when.. She even helped me with my awful time management hahah I have never been on time for anything in my life but on that day I was right on schedule.
She is very organized and we zipped right through our little photo session before going to the reception. Samantha and her assistant Addie kept us laughing and made us feel at ease while being creative and capturing some cool shots. At cocktail hour she was able to get our huge families together for a group shot..high five to her as they are a rowdy bunch! As dinner begun and everyone sat down to eat I saw her continue to snap pictures of all our details.. She is non stop amazing but I just wanted her to sit down eat and relax as if she was part of the family! (Eating is our number 1 priority) haha The rest of the night went by soo fast and I know she was all over the place getting great shots but she blended right in and I didn't even notice she was snapping pictures. This girl has a passion for what she does you can see it in her eyes and in her pictures. I can't wait to see our photos and relive that day through her eyes.

Samantha and her assistant photographer Esther provided the photography for our wedding, and we honestly cannot say enough good things about them! We are so glad we went with Samantha for our wedding. We knew we were in good hands before the wedding when she helped us think through the timing of our day and the pictures we'd want to have after our wedding. Given our family is slightly complicated (2 sets of divorced parents) we had a lot of various family to accommodate. She encouraged us to really think about which pictures we would want after and accurately recommended the amount we'd have time for and find good use for.

The day of the wedding she was early- ready to go- and clear on what she was doing. Although she was super prepared and timely, she was also really relaxed and able to be flexible with the flow of the day. Before the wedding, we even decided to sneak in a few extra boudoir shots!

The pictures we walked away with are breathtaking and capture our day exactly as I wanted to remember it. She caught those moments of joy, laughter, and pure fun. The color of her pictures is vibrant. She was so fast in getting the pictures to us and the site she uses for ordering is easy (and allows you to change pics to B + W and crop to particular sizes).

We wouldn't have had our day without her. We are so appreciative of everything she did to go the extra mile to make our day easy and fun, and capture the moments we'll never forget!!

My husband and I both kind of hate posing for photos, but she made us feel much less awkward about the whole thing! Even more importantly, we just got our photos back and they are AMAZING. Her posed photos of us and the bridal party are great (she managed to make them casual and fun) and her candids are awesome. She really managed to capture the emotions of the day! I feel so lucky to have such beautiful photos to remember our wedding by.

I was very happy with the photos that were taken for our wedding. Both Sam and her assistant were very professional throughout the entire day. When my fiancé told me that she wanted to take engagement pictures I asked her why a friend couldn't just take some? Now I know how rediculous that would have been. Samantha was unbelievable. Made us feel like it was just us two. We had a lot of fun being silly and ourselves without the pressures of posing for the perfect picture. When we got them back we were amazed. Who knew you could capture such emotion from a picture. Our families were speechless. We look forward to the wedding and a lifetime of memories. Thank you Samantha.

Samantha did an amazing job for our engagement shoot!! Before meeting she helped me brainstorm ideas for where to shoot in our neighborhood and ideas for props. She even showed up with some props for us to use. Both of us were feeling a little nervous to have our photos taken in public while trying to look all lovey dovey. She did a great job putting us at ease and making us feel comfortable. By the end, we were truly having a great time and completely forgot about the camera. Samantha has great ideas for places to shoot- just by walking around the streets she picked up on cool backdrops/colors that I would never have thought of. We are super excited for Samantha to shoot our wedding and would highly recommend her!

Sam did an amazing job photographing our wedding! She captured every important moment beautifully. She managed to get photos of everything, even though while it was happening we didn't even notice her. She made sure to get everything we asked for. We also used her photobooth service, which was super fun for all of our guests! Would HIGHLY recommend her.

Samantha did a great job capturing our wedding day. Her artistic eye is right on target--and she has many ideas and visions that she tries throughout her shooting. Samantha was very accommodating to my husband and I as we built our wedding day package with her. When Samantha was shooting at our reception, she did a great job blending into the background as not to bother us or our guests as she snapped many candid shots. Sam did our wedding and did an outstanding job. We had so many shots we wanted done and she was happy to catch all of them. Samantha was amazing and helped my husband and I capture beautiful photos during a trash the dress session. We had an awful experience with our photographer on our wedding day and asked Samantha to help us re-create some of those moments we missed. Samantha is a beautiful person, inside and out, and an amazing photographer! Prior to the wedding she always responded promptly to my calls/emails and she patiently entertained all the millions of questions I asked. In the few days before the wedding, Samantha made sure to meet with my husband and I to ensure that she had a full list of all the photographs we wanted with our family and friends (which ended up making the wedding day flow seamlessly!). As someone who can be a bit camera-shy, Samantha did an amazing job the day of the wedding making me feel comfortable and helped me truly enjoy the experience. Samantha is one of the nicest people I've ever gotten to work with. She is also one of the most organized. The fact that she takes the best pictures my wife and I have seen is just the icing on the cake. She gave clear directions to all of us in order to take better pictures. Samantha clearly cares quite a lot about her craft. Some of my favorite pictures from the evening were right before dinner: Samantha pulled us out at sunset and got some stunning shots. Her second shooter was just as nice and professional. Overall I would whole-heartedly recommend Samantha to any couple seeking an engaging and professional artist.

I haven't seen my wedding photos yet but I know that they are going to be great. Sam and her staff were great at my wedding. They made sure to keep everything moving so that my husband I could enjoy some of the cocktail hour. I noticed that Samantha kept snapping photos throughout the night and I cannot wait to see how they turned out.

In addition, Samantha also did our engagement photos and save the dates. The work she did on these was amazing and very creative. She was also very flexible when scheduling various meetings.

I am really happy that we used Samantha as our photographer

Samantha is absolutely amazing. Her work is beyond stunning and her value is unbeatable. She works with highly professional second shooters to ensure each and every moment of your special day is captured. The only thing that was slightly disappointing (and by no means would I consider it a black mark to her service) was that it took quite a while to get a teaser image after our wedding. Having to wait a few weeks was a bit of a let down after all the excitement of the wedding, but once we got the images man were they beautiful. My husband and I would be beyond happy to recommend Samantha Melanson as a wedding photographer, if you are considering her-don't wait book her now!
