I cannot even begin to tell you how happy I am that we were able to use Samantha as our wedding photographer! We have only seen our sneak peek so far as our wedding was only a few weeks ago, but the photos I have seen have truly been even more beautiful than i could have ever imagined! Samantha was extremely easy to work with, responsive, and helpful throughout the planning process! My husband is not a huge photo guy but Samantha and her team made the photo process so smooth and easy the day of! We didn't want our photos to feel too "posed" and Samantha really delivered, capturing authentic moments throughout our day and making out posed pictures look as natural as possible! We are so happy we went with Samantha and cannot wait to see the rest of the photographs from our wedding day! -

Samantha came recommended by a college friend who photographed her wedding. SHE IS A GEM!! Very responsive to email and so friendly and genuine. We loved how she captures pictures like you are watching the moment unfold right in front of you. She made the day so special for my husband and I. She even sent a preview album quickly after our wedding. It is so hard to chose which pictures are our favorites since they are all so beautiful. We are excited to look through the wedding pictures she took for days to come!! -

Samantha perfectly captured our day and was a joy to work with
My husband and I had the best experience with Samantha for our June 2024 wedding and April 2023 engagement session! Samantha is not only an incredibly talented photographer, but also so kind, patient, and fun to work with! Planning with Samantha was so easy, she responded in such a timely manner, made us feel comfortable taking photos, kept us on time during the wedding day and delivered our incredible photos in a timely manner. we are so happy we went with Samantha and would recommend her to anyone and will be back for future photo sessions. I think its pretty telling when you can't pick just a few photos for this review because they are all good. Samantha captured it all - candids, formals, details, guests, the emotion, the beauty, its all perfect. thank you Samantha! -

It was a joy working with Samantha Jay. Samantha was helpful in planning the day beyond what I’d expect for a photographer. She gave useful input on timeline and bridesmaid dress colors (recommending the adorable mismatch). We actually had Nicole and her husband as the day of photographers. Their photography was every bit as beautiful as what’s on Samantha’s website. Our band even commented that Nicole’s eye was uniquely beautiful, and he’s seen many photographs! Samantha did a gorgeous job editing our photographs. Our friends and family frequently comment how stunning the pictures were. They’re true heirlooms that will help us remember our wedding forever. Could not recommend booking her enough! -

Samantha's photography is absolutely stunning and she is a joy to work with! We are so grateful our wedding planner directed us to her.
We were instantly drawn to her light but colorful photography style, and our initial phone call really sealed the deal when we realized how sweet, friendly, and supportive Samantha was. We felt like she was genuinely interested in getting to know us (as opposed to other teams that made us feel like just another paycheck). She was consistently responsive and professional throughout our wedding planning process.
During our engagement session and our wedding, Samantha (and her second shooter, Jess at the wedding!) made these two camera-shy people feel comfortable and fairly natural in front of the camera. Though our engagement photo location wound up being used by countless high schoolers for prom photos the same evening, she calmly navigated to other areas in the garden such that they were barely a disruption. Her prompts kept us laughing, and her positivity and energy brightened our day.
Our photos themselves will be treasured for a lifetime. She expertly captured such beautiful memories for us. We're really struggling to decide which photos to display in our house because we love all of them so much. Samantha is just absolutely incredible all-around. -

There was no competition when we were looking into photographers for our wedding. I knew as soon as we met the first time that working with her would be delightful and stress-free, and that first instinct was spot-on! She is really communicative and knows her business well, so we trusted her completely. Our engagement photo shoot was a blast, we had *so* much fun, and the images she gave us were lovely and made us even more excited about how our wedding photos would turn out!
Her positivity, professionalism, and energy were infectious on The Day. I can't imagine how different things would have felt without her there, because her presence was both calming and enthusiastic, and I'm fairy certain she held my bouquet for me at some point while I was wrangling my dress through the grass. We could not wait to see what she gave us!
And wow--worth the wait--we were completely blown away when she delivered her work to us! Her use of natural light, scenery, direction (especially with squirrely relatives), creative eye were off the charts. These are truly heirloom quality photos, and we will treasure them forever! -

Short version: Samantha is an incredible artist who captures timeless photos that you will cherish! Go ahead & contact her now - she and the photos you will receive are worth well beyond the investment! I could not recommend her more highly!
Longer version: My husband & I both knew that photography was one of the most important aspects of the wedding that we would invest into. I found Samantha through a friend/coworker who had Samantha photograph her wedding and raved about her. After looking through Samantha's work online, contacting her, and doing a Facetime to meet, I knew immediately we had to have her there to capture our wedding day. After the pandemic hit, we had to postpone, and rescheduled for a year later. A few months after that, my husband and I decided to change our plans and instead have an intimate wedding day with a small group of family. Samantha was very understanding through this whole process and all the changes, and she ended up traveling to a different state with us for the big day (we are forever grateful for how accommodating she was!). The day of, she and her sister arrived ready to go, with a timeline and plan, having already sought out perfect spots the day before to take photos at. The entire day ran smoothly because of Samantha - she clearly knows exactly what she is doing! They were both professional, warm, welcoming, and made everyone feel comfortable and confident the whole day. All of our family members made comments about how great they were and how passionate Samantha is at her craft. She captured all of the photos we hoped for - portraits, candids, scenery photos. We knew from seeing her previous work that the images would be top notch, but we were blown away when we received our preview photos & again a few months later when all of the wedding images arrived. My husband & I sat together and went through them one by one - we relived every moment and every emotion from that day, and were simply amazed. Our wedding photos are timeless & classic - they perfectly captured our intimate wedding day and we will literally cherish these photos forever. I am so thankful to have crossed paths with Samantha & could not recommend her more highly! Thank you for everything Samantha! -

It can be very overwhelming trying to find the perfect wedding photographer. It is such an important day and you want the photos to be absolutely perfect. Lucky for me, my husband and I had been together for 7 years prior to getting engaged so I had A LOT of time to stalk other people's wedding photos. And lucky for you, I can save you many years of searching with this review.
So one day, I was absolutely blown away by the wedding album one of my facebook friends posted. I had never seen such beautiful and perfect pictures. The pictures were so effortless, airy and light, happy, elegant, and radiant. Right then I knew that one day I was going to use Samantha for my own wedding pictures.
Samantha is so sweet and very easy to work with. She facetimed with me before I officially booked her so we could get to know each other and make sure we were on the same page when it came to wedding photos. We then had an engagement photo session where she made us look absolutely amazing. My husband and I are definitely camera shy but Samantha walked us through the entire photo shoot and made us feel very comfortable in doing poses we had never done before. The pictures turned out so beautiful and she made us look extremely natural and candid. I love sharing these pictures and get so many compliments whenever I do.
We recently got married about 2 weeks ago and Samantha already gave us a sneak peak of about 200 edited photos from the wedding within 10 days. The photos are absolutely beautiful and I have been obsessed with them and cannot wait to see the rest. She really captured our emotions on camera and I love how happy we look in all of the photos.
Samantha shares her photos digitally which makes it super easy to download the pictures and share them. I love sharing pictures and having easy access to uploading them or sending them to family/friends so I absolutely love this aspect about her photography. -

Amazing Photographer
We 100% recommend Samantha! She was a dream to work with during the entire planning process and wedding day. Sam was a extremely easy to communicate with and responded quickly and professionally whenever we reached out. My husband and I are generally quite and shy people, and I was worried that our smiles would look forced in photos. But with Sam she makes you feel relaxed and is easy to talk with so the smiles were genuine in all the photos. Both our engagement and wedding photo's are truly amazing and we could not be happier to have chosen Sam to be our photographer. The photos she takes speak for themselves and show the dedication she has to capturing the love you share with your partner and the memories you are creating. We cannot recommend her enough, she is amazing. -

Amazing photographer, Gorgeous photos, Happy Bride and Groom!
Samantha was incredibly wonderful to work with. From the beginning she was so warm and welcoming and excited to work with us and our vision for our wedding day. Our engagement shoot with her was so much fun and full of laughter. The day of the wedding she went above and beyond to make the record breaking heat day proceed with a breeze. The portraits of my husband and I are BREATHTAKING. When doing photos with family and bridal parties and got everyone together, lined us up, and told us exactly what to do with kindness and grace! Our pictures look amazing and Samantha truly captured the laughter and smiles that filled the day between my husband and I and between ourselves and our family and friends. 100% , 10/10, every time recommend Samantha Jay Photography -

When I started looking for wedding photographers, I followed a bunch on Instagram and immediately fell in love with Samantha's photography style. She's the only photographer I reached out to and I knew right away she was the perfect choice. Our engagement and wedding photos couldn't have been more beautiful. Neither I nor my husband enjoy getting our picture taken - it makes us feel incredibly awkward. But at both the engagement session and the wedding, she made us feel comfortable and look natural in our photos, which was amazing! She was just what we needed - no staged photos from Pinterest, no unnatural poses. It was just her capturing the moments that Kevin and I will cherish our entire lives. But not only are her pictures beautiful, she did a phenomenal job wrangling the wedding party and moving things along as quickly as possible. Her and Jess were amazing, and I couldn't recommend them enough. They are perfection. To make everything even better, we got our previews while we were still on our honeymoon, and got all of our photos a little over a month after the wedding. It was so much sooner than I imagined. Do yourself a favor and use Samantha as your wedding photographer :) -

Samantha Jay Photography was one of the best vendor choices we made for our wedding! From the moment my husband and I met with Sam, she had a warm and welcoming personality. We are not used to being in front of the camera, but Sam made us feel at ease and captured such natural moments throughout the day. During the planning process, Sam was attentive and timely with all communication. She was also open to my ideas for location and such. Not only is Sam an incredible photographer, but she also helped the wedding day stay on pace. We did not have a wedding planner, so Sam kept track of time and kept the day moving so we did not have to worry about it. Once the reception started, she melted into the background and got shots of the party. The pictures we have gotten so far came out better than I could have imagined and I can’t stop looking at them! Nellie, her partner, worked with the groomsmen in the morning and in tandem with Sam during the wedding party photos. Nellie was also extremely professional, talented, and did a great job capturing the guys getting ready. As an extra bonus, Sam offers a complimentary engagement session with her packages, which really helped my husband and I get a feel for being photographed. Bottom line, Sam is awesome and I highly recommend her services for your next big event! -

Samantha was an absolute joy to work with. From our first meeting to the final delivery of our wedding album she was easy to work with, quick to respond, very informative and an amazing photographer. Our engagement shoot was very helpful to prepare us for our big day and helped her get to know us as a couple. We strongly recommend taking advantage of the session.
On our wedding day she captured the moment and mood perfectly in her photos. Her second photographer was also fantastic. We got all the shots we wanted.

She was responsive, well priced, super accommodating with time and flexible schedules (we live out of state), and she was honestly just the best. We loved her during our engagement shoot, as she really helped us feel comfortable in front of the camera, and on our wedding, she such a calming presence she really helped us focus in on each other - which was hard to do with SO much going on! I can't say enough great things about her. Her editing style is simple, natural, and timeless. Not overly-edited. You can't go wrong! Thank you Samantha!

Alli Sent on 11/15/2017Some of the best advice I received while looking for a photographer was to choose someone you get along with, because they will be with you (and directing you!) the entire day. When I saw Samantha's work I was immediately impressed, but what sealed the deal for me was her personality and professionalism. Samantha is fun and easy going, but does a great job of keeping the day moving. She has an amazing eye and it translates to absolutely beautiful photos. She helped us get all the formal shots we wanted, but some of my favorites are the candids that I didn't even know she was taking. I would highly recommend Samantha and her team!! -
