Great food and great service!

We hired Salt and Smoke to be apart of our wedding day and we received so many compliments about the food! The food is delicious and the staff is amazing. Sara was great to work with and she was very communicative. The planning process was smooth and easy. I highly recommend choosing Salt and Smoke to be apart of your wedding day!!

Bride and Groom

My husband and I knew we wanted BBQ for our wedding. It’s something different than most wedding dinners. We ordered the brisket, pulled pork, pulled chicken, potato salad, Mac n cheese and a salad. The food was AMAZING. Our guests also kept saying how great the food was (honestly, you don’t hear that much for buffet style wedding food). If we ever need another caterer for an event, we will definitely be hiring salt n smoke!

Great place for a private party

We had our rehearsal dinner at Salt + Smoke in the CWE. All of our guests were raving about the food! The staff was friendly and accommodating and the back room was the perfect size for our group. Working with Anna was very easy and the event went off without a hitch. Would definitely use the space again for private parties.

Prompt, professional, helpful, affordable, delicious!

It was a pleasure to work with Amy for my daughter's wedding on January 1. This being my first time to hire a caterer, I made many changes to the plan as I slowly decided what we wanted, and Amy was quick to answer my many questions and to respond to each request. She happily tailored their services to our needs (cutting down the amount of time that our servers were to stay) and allowing me to pick up the plates we were renting early, so that I could set them out on the tables when we set up the hall. The servers at the venue could not have been more helpful or more efficient. They set the food out in minutes. I was worried that "tear down" of the food table would take too long and delay the dancing (shared space), and they did it so fast, I didn't even see it happening. Even though we were not having them cut the cake, the servers kindly showed my sisters HOW to cut it and provided oversight the whole time. I am not sure, but I think one of them ran to the store when the venue ran out of red wine (there was only one bartender at our small event)! They truly went above and beyond in every detail. The food was, of course, absolutely delicious. We had the brisket, pulled pork, macaroni and cheese, potato salad, and green salad. I would use them again and again!

Excellent food, fantastic service and affordable!

My husband and I worked with Amy to plan our wedding and sort out all the catering details. To say Salt and Smoke did amazing is an understatement. From selecting them as our vendor, to our tasting and then on the wedding day everything was perfect. Communication with Amy was always prompt and professional. She helped us make our final decisions and answered all of our questions with a smile at our tasting (which was very private and special). On the wedding day, the team executed the event without a hitch. They even went to the extent to make sure my grandparents who couldn’t walk outside got a separate plate of appetizers, wow! Having BBQ at our wedding was so perfect and classy. It was clean, easy to eat and they provided anything you needed with excellent service. My guests are still talking about how good the food was 2 months later! If you’re considering Salt and Smoke for your wedding you won’t go wrong, go with them!!

Amazing Food Professionalism, Service & More

Incredibly delicious party food!

Hiring Salt and Smoke was an awesome choice and grand idea! The professionalism from start to finish was fantastic. Amy and John were wonderful to work with, easy to contact via email or phone for answering any questions regarding food, cost, etc. We had Anna and team for the event and everything was beautifully set up, served, and cleaned up. Anna checked with me throughout the night to make sure everything was great, which it was! We were in good hands! Our guests and we were so pleased with the food. From the ribs to the mac and cheese, everything was hot, ready and of course delicious. People are still talking about what great Event food we had. I highly recommend them, you will not be disappointed to have Salt and Smoke cater your event. Thank you for making my uncle’s birthday memorable! Everyone was so gracious and accommodating.

Amazing service, and food, affordable! Highly Recommend!

I want to start off by saying I would highly recommend using Salt + Smoke to cater your event!! We recently had them cater dinner at our wedding reception and from the very beginning of the process everything went very smooth and easy! Anna was very good at keeping in communication through the whole entire process and very easy to get in touch with whenever we had any questions or concerns. On our wedding day, we really appreciated that the staff arrived exactly when they said they would. They were very accommodating to our specific needs, and a pleasure to work with! Everything was done with great efficiency and the attitude of the entire staff was very positive. The food was EXCELLENT on top of being affordable for our event!

Everyone loves good BBQ!

We recently had S+S cater our wedding reception and the experience was flawless and hassle free. Everything was set up/broken down on time and the food was incredible. Most of our guests said it was the best food they’ve ever had at a reception. I highly recommend S+S for anyone looking to cater an event or just to stop in for dinner at one of their locations. It’s become a tradition for our new family we plan on sticking to for years to come.

The Best Reception Food Ever

Salt + Smoke went above and beyond to make our reception wonderful. They provided great service and accommodations beginning with our tasting and ending with our wedding reception. Our guests still rave about the food. Our out of town guests want to eat at Salt + Smoke during their next trip to St. Louis. Since then, we have ordered catering for holiday gatherings because the food is so good.

Salt + Smoke was Perfect for our Wedding!

We have nothing but great things to say about our experience with Salt + Smoke! The food was amazing, we heard over and over again from our guests how much they loved it - people raved about the brisket and mac and cheese, as well as the appetizers (bacon wrapped meatballs, goat cheese mushrooms, and burnt end toasted rav's, all fantastic!). The service team was very professional and friendly and helped to make our wedding an amazing day. Also, Ben was very responsive to email and made planning the specifics very easy. We can't recommend Salt + Smoke enough, everything was perfect!

Simply Amazing!!

Everything about this place was so professional and wonderful! Honestly, if you want amazing barbecue at your wedding that everyone is going to talk about for years to come, this is it! While dancing with guests throughout the night, I couldn’t even tell you how many people thought the food was the best barbecue they’d had. Not to mention, the staff and everyone helping out with serving everyone was top notch. It truly was an amazing night! Watch out for guests who are definitely going to call you begging you to send some Salt and Smoke Mac and cheese their way after the wedding! 😉

Best food ever

Using Salt & Smoke was the one of the best decisions I have ever made! The food and service were fabulous and I am still receiving compliments months later. I highly recommend to anyone who wants great food and a great experience for their wedding!

Salt + Smoke recently catered our wedding reception & we could not be more complimentary of the food & service, but a huge deal of our gratitude goes toward Ben. From our initial communication when we first began to plan, down to the day of the event, Ben made sure everything was absolutely perfect! He was incredibly kind & flexible working with us on everything from our budget in the very beginning, to the extra linens we needed to order as we approached our event date. The food was so delicious, we have received many compliments from our guests. In addition, the servers for our event could not have been more kind or professional. We recommend Salt + Smoke any chance we can, they will not disappoint!

Versatility, Convenience, Crowd Pleasing Food!

In October, Port St. Joe, Florida, was hit with a category 4 hurricane. The wedding venues, as well as the lives of our friends there in a shambles, we had to quickly look for a new venue and new caterer in Missouri. We knew the food was delicious at Salt and Smoke, but until we began to work with Anna, we had no idea how lovely and convenient working with them was going to be. They took care of everything we needed to rent, were able to accommodate our many changes in the volatile world of planning a new wedding in 30 days, and those on their staff that came to work the reception were efficient, courteous, and focused on our guests' needs. Having one person to deal with concerning rentals and food and staff cannot be too highly rated, as I was not in my hometown! My one suggestion would be to make sure you order enough hors d'oeuvres - we ran out! But that left plenty of room for their generous portions of the chicken, pork, and brisket, and their delicious sides! In fact, we were worried about the vegetarians in the group, but Salt and Smoke's green beans and tomatoes, mac and cheese, and coleslaw fed them beautifully! As an aside - snow and freezing temperatures again made us change the venue two days out - and Salt and Smoke was most accommodating and versatile as we gave them new directions! This was a great choice for us!

I can't stress enough how incredibly pleased we are with the service, catering, and DELICIOUS FOOD we received for our wedding. Easily the compliment of the night was, "This is the best wedding food I've ever had," with multiple people weeks later saying they are craving their mac n cheese. Ben at Salt + Smoke Catering exceeded my expectations and provided the best possible service I could've ever hoped for our wedding guests.

The morning of our wedding called for 6-8 inches of rain, which pushed our outdoor ceremony inside, and typical Missouri weather decided to give us a very light mist that day, not even raining at all! Although most would complain and argue of change of events and timeline beyond our control, Ben and his team were literal MVPs when it came to flipping the room from a lush ceremony, to whopping 280 person seated reception. It's not about the money or nickel and dime-ing customers at Salt + Smoke — the team literally made our wedding dreams come true in more ways then one. They helped the florist, wedding coordinator, and event guests figure out the game plan to flip the room quickly and safely, they served amazing appetizers to keep guests entertained, and made clean-up and take down a breeze with everyone leaving with smiles on their faces and yummy food in their bellies.

I've said it before a million times and I'll say it again, a "Thank you" doesn't do it justice and having Salt + Smoke Catering at our wedding was an absolute honor that we (or our guests) will ever forget!

I highly recommend Salt & Smoke! They were very quick to get back to us with any questions. Their staff was amazing from the day I emailed them to set up a tasting through the day of the event. Ben patiently answered all of my questions and was always easy to contact. Myself and my guest were blown away by the food and the staff the day of the wedding as well. They were well staffed and my guest didn't have to wait long at all for drinks at the bar. Did I mention the food was AMAZING!?!

Ben and his team at Salt & Smoke were great and so easy to work with!! We had them cater our wedding about a month ago and we have heard nothing but compliments about how great and yummy to food was !! (Especially the mac and cheese) Ben was super responsive to emails and got back to me right away with all the answers. He was super accommodating when we wanted a few vegetarian/ vegan options at our reception and even made a separate dinner for two of my family members. The servers were wonderful and got the food out quickly and took the plates away when necessary. The bar was fully stocked all night and everything went so smoothly! I would absolutely recommend Salt and Smoke to anyone looking for an AWESOME wedding caterer!

We couldn't have been any happier with Salt & Smoke. The food at our wedding was amazing. The service was exceptional. They worked with us to help create a custom menu for our wedding and they were really great about letting us revise and change things all the way up until about a week or so before the event. We got compliments from everybody all night on how delicious the food was. If you are considering BBQ, we couldn't recommend Salt & Smoke highly enough!

We loved the service we received for our wedding! From the start it was a easy and no stress communicating with them about our event. Our guest absolutely loved the food and keep getting complements about our food at the wedding. We had great servers for our event they were hard works, nice to work with and did great food quality control. We will definitely be back to you the catering service.

The catering from Salt+Smoke was one of the highlights of our wedding. My Husband and I live in New York and wanted to treat our out of town guests to some tasty St. Louis BBQ. Salt+Smoke's food was the best of the caterers we tried: the ribs were tender, the brisket was juicy, and the Mac and Cheese is what dreams are made of. Months after our wedding, people are still telling us that it's the best wedding food they've ever had.
Ben was so easy to communicate with and the staff was friendly. If you want BBQ at your wedding, Salt+Smoke is the way to go.

I have used Salt + Smoke catering for numerous events - from work events with hundreds of guests to a non-profit fundraiser to small numbers during teacher conferences at a school and lunch and learns. Each time people from the events rave about the quality and uniqueness of the food and the service aspect and have subsequently booked Salt + Smoke for their events as well. Their catering menu is a tremendous asset to their already amazing restaurant menu -- it has very unique and delicious items for very reasonable cost. They also customize signature drinks (blood orange bourbon was a fav!) in addition to full bar service as well. Ben has been incredible to work with, I recommend him to everyone! He has a way of making suggestions from menu items depending on event style to the number of items needed and will work with you in creative ways for whatever you needs might be! From being asked numerous questions to making sure every detail I've asked about is executed - Ben exceeds expectations. There are many things he thinks of that I haven't even asked for that he brings to the event. His professionalism and extension of the brand is very unique, he is thorough and fun to work with! The staff he sends have always excelled and I know the food is going to be a hit! I would never use anyone else for an event!

Salt & Smoke catered my son's rehearsal dinner. Everything was wonderful! The server and bartender were great. They were so friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and people are still talking about how good it was. Ben, the catering manager, was very good at helping me pull everything together. My son and his fiancée were very happy because the event was exactly that they had hoped it would be for their rehearsal dinner.

Salt & Smoke catered my daughter's wedding reception a few days ago and it was fabulous. From the moment we decided to go with Salt & Smoke until our event, Ben, the catering manager, was accessible and responsive. He answered all of our emails and calls promptly over the course of several months planning the reception. The food was delicious and there was plenty of it. Guests loved it-especially the brisket. Ben and his staff took care of all of the details and made sure that things went smoothly during the reception. We were so pleased with the delicious food and excellent service. Thank you, Ben, and all of the Salt & Smoke staff for making our event a success!

I would highly recommend Salt and Smoke to any bride to be! Ben and team were professional, accomodating, and responsive, but most importantly, the food was amazing!! We recicved so many compliments from our guests and many said it was the best wedding food that they have ever had. If you are considering Salt and Smoke, hire them! You will not be disappointed

Ben and the catering team at Salt + Smoke were very professional. The food was delicious and there was enough for our guests to come back for seconds. All of our guests LOVED the food! Ben was also very easy to work with and receptive to special meals for those guests who were vegetarian or gluten free. At the end of the event, they boxed up the leftovers and had all the catering rentals removed, as well as going above and beyond the scope of catering. They collected a lot of our personal items, gifts, decorations and loaded them into my family's truck so we could enjoy our party! The only thing I might suggest is a larger helping of meats. We had brisket, pulled pork and spice rubbed chicken wings to feed approximately 150 people. Once we got home the next day, there was an abundance of potato salad and cracker mac and cheese, but ZERO meat. Everyone ate it all up! We just wished there was a bite left for us to enjoy with our sides, after the event!!! LOL! Overall, it was a great experience for Josh and I. If you are looking for a unique spin on your wedding day meal, Salt + Smoke (barbecue) is perfect! Five stars!

So many compliments from guests!

We live by Salt & Smoke on Hampton and knew it had to be the food vendor for our wedding. The food was delicious as always and our guests were very happy. They sent us home with all the leftovers and now I have had infinite salt and smoke meals for a week. Highly recommend if you love bbq.

Anna is great

Once I finally started working with Anna everything came together. Before her, I debated canceling the whole order. Anna stepped up beautifully and handled everything perfectly and with much grace. Anna and her on site staff made everything run very smoothly and all of our guests LOVED the food

Horrific Customer Service

We hired Salt + Smoke to cater our rehearsal dinner this past September. The food was delicious, however the customer service is horrific! We worked with Brooke and she was lovely to work with while booking their services and during contracting. Night of the rehearsal the meal was delivered without any plates/napkins/utensils (paid extra to have these included with out meal) for our guests to enjoy the meal. One of our guests had to leave the celebration to run and purchase plates, napkins and eating utensils. Not a huge deal but, more of an inconvenience that held up dinner service. After the wedding weekend celebrations came to a close, I called Brooke to explain - she was extremely rude telling me she had put it on the paperwork but, her staff didn't bring it so, "not her fault", then asked "what I wanted her to do about it?". I asked her what they normally do in this situation and she told me she would need to speak with her manager, and get back to me the following week when he returned from vacation. I waited 2 weeks before calling again. When I called back she said "her manager didn't want to do anything about the situation so, that is why she never called back". I understand COVID has significantly effected and altered the restaurant/hospitality industry however, working in the wedding industry myself - this is NOT how a customer should be treated after an incident of no fault of their own. In the end, Brooke did end up reaching back out and apologizing for the mix-up. She did end up waiving the charge for disposables, she also gave us a gift card to use towards our next trip to Salt and Smoke.

Amazing food

We had mixed feelings about booking Salt + Smoke to cater our wedding. Starting with the positives, the food was amazing! So many of our guests raved that this was the best wedding food they had ever had. Additionally, the service on our wedding day was terrific. Setup/tear down was also seamless. Our frustration came from the booking process. We worked with Delana who we felt was distracted and lacked attention to detail. We went back and forth on what should have been a simple contract for months. Every time Delana sent us the contract to review we would find an issue (services missing, incorrect food items, wrong event time listed, etc.). There were instances where the two deposits noted on the invoice didn't tie out to the total and other times where the line items on the invoice didn't add up to the total. This had us stressed out that there would be issues on our wedding day. If Salt + Smoke streamlined the booking process we would totally recommend them to everyone.
