I cannot say enough about Saja Wedding. All of the dresses are wonderful, I tried on quite a few, but, I immediately fell in love with the first dress I tried on. Yoo and her assistant were attentive and so helpful they made my sister, mother and I feel at ease ( we were all very nervous) and taken care of. When I returned for my fitting, Yoo made sure we knew every detail on how to steam, tie, and care for the dress, she truly cares about her dresses and the brides who wear them. She has since moved her studio to LA, but if you have a chance I highly recommend reaching out to her! -

I was looking for something super specific in a dress that was simple yet pretty. When I walked into Saja I loved the style of all of the dresses. They were exactly what I was looking for, so simple but so pretty. The designer and her assistant were both very helpful and nice every time I went into the studio from the first time shopping to my fittings. I got so many compliments on my dress. And it was so light and comfortable to wear. My mom also ended up getting her dress that she wore to my wedding from Saja also. -

I am so lucky to have worn a Saja gown! I did a lot of wedding dress shopping around NYC, but when I stepped into the little Saja studio, I knew I was in the right place. Each light, ethereal gown was more stunning than the next, and I could've been happy with many of them. I didn't think I would find something that fit me so perfectly, but when I stepped into THE dress, I was unexpectedly emotional.
Yoo's unique vision is amazing, and she really "gets" her brides: relaxed, non-traditional, low maitenance. She is an expert in her craft, and I was so grateful for her honest, no-nonsense feedback. The Saja team was helpful from start to finish - the process was totally a breeze. I felt so beautiful on the wedding day and wish I could wear the dress more! -

As someone who hasn’t been dreaming of her wedding day for years, buying a wedding dress was a very scary feat until I found Saja. I knew before I went in I would find my dress there. It only took 1 hour and 15 minutes for me to pick out the perfect dress. I couldn’t be happier with the fit and feel. I was light and comfortable on my wedding day while still feeling beautiful and elegant. The shop has a low-key, stress-free environment; they reliable and fun to work with. Besides my husband, this is the only item I never second-guessed. -

After a fruitless search, I was so happy to finally find Saja. These were the dresses I was looking for--soft, "flowy", timeless, elegant, gorgeous. I imagine they flatter all body types, but for curvy girls with a smaller waist, these are the answer. I felt so beautiful on my wedding thanks to Saja. The designer was in the shop and helped pinpoint exactly which dress was right for me. But really, any of the dresses could have been right, as they were all so beautiful. The service was excellent, I live in Texas but bought in NYC and they made it so easy and seamless. They packed the dress for me to fly home with, and it stayed pristine. They ordered 2 sizes for me, just in case, which was so lovely and flexible. I loved my whole experience. I recommend Saja Wedding highly. -

I ordered my wedding dress from Saja. Although I placed the order through Bella Bridesmaid and not directly with Saja, the Saja ladies were incredibly responsive and helpful throughout the process. I contacted them directly for help selecting the correct dress size, and received a reply in less than a few hours, as well as prompt, friendly responses to all of my follow-up questions. I was also able to order additional lining material that matched the dress, after I expressed concern that the dress might be a bit too sheer in the daylight.
Once I had placed my order, Saja sent me helpful styling information, including suggested undergarments to wear with my particular dress style and a video demonstrating all the different way to tie the sash included with the gown.
Saja's prices are wonderful - I had expected to spend much more on my wedding gown and was so thrilled to find a beautiful dress in 100% silk that was so reasonably priced. I definitely recommend this designer and the lovely ladies that work in the Saja shop. -

I took a trip to NYC to get my wedding dress and Saja was the best appointment I had there. Yoo Lee, the designer of all the dresses, can figure out what dress fits your body within minutes of your arrival. She helped me be decisive and find a dress that I truly loved! Her dresses are simple and classic--exactly what I was looking for. She locks the store when you have an appointment and gives you 1:1 attention and assistance. The process of ordering the dress and getting alterations was easy as well! I highly recommend Saja Wedding! -

I felt more beautiful than I could have possibly dreamed on my wedding day in my GORGEOUS Saja dress. I was told I looked like a Goddess, angel, the Madonna... There is something so amazingly special about these dresses. I now want to buy some bridesmaid dresses so I can wear more of them - once wasn't enough! -

Saja wedding was a dream! They block out time for you so that you have their full attention, they are so helpful, they always follow up with you, they offer all sorts of tips and suggestions, they work with a fantastic tailor, and really, you can tell that they care. Yoo, the owner, even waited for me after the store closed one night so that I could pick up my veil.
The bride and bridesmaid dresses are just stunning. I love my dress so much, I loved trying it on, I loved being in it, and it was absolutely perfect for me on the wedding day. It is lightweight, flows nicely, easy to be in. I felt like a princess. Three of my bridesmaids got dresses there (I told them they could get their dresses wherever they wanted), and they love them too.
I am SO happy I found the Saja boutique. They are wonderful, and make you feel special. Please support a local, fantastic designer, who makes absolutely gorgeous and ethereal dresses! -

Oh Saja!! I got married at the end of August of this year and found my dress at Saja back when it was still chilly in New York, in February! From my first appointment to try dresses, to my last to my final fitting with their recommended tailor, they were just wonderful! I thought I had a dress picked out from them, but then, on my third time trying it on, I randomly tried a one-shoulder and after trying that one, I thought about it for a few hours, and knew that was the one! Yoo, the designer, and Kyra and Samantha were all so helpful from that moment on! My mom bought the dress and she lives in CA (where my wedding was) and Kyra was so helpful over the phone with her to make sure everything was taken care of regarding credit card payment, and all of that stuff. On top of that, Kyra and Samantha always replied to every email I sent them (and I sent them a lot!). Yoo sent me to Linda's to find the perfect strapless bra to go with my dress, and the tailor they recommended was great. It was done within a week of my first appointment and the dress fit perfectly! I even asked Saja about the kind of underwear to wear and the specific kind they told me (nude seamless brief--NOT LACEY) was perfect (and super comfortable for my day). Also, during one of my fittings, Yoo had recommended I wear flowers in my hair (I wasn't quite sure what to do with it, being a bob with bangs, but I knew I didn't want a veil) and my florist made a BEAUTIFUL crown and it fit with the dress perfectly. I definitely recommend Saja to those brides who want a simple, stunning, and COMFORTABLE gown, for their big day. Mine fit the rustic chic theme I had going on, AND let me dance all night. I couldn't have imagined a better experience finding the wedding dress of my dreams. A small, quaint shop, a welcoming designer and her employee who gave me the time and space needed to make a very important decision while also supporting with helpful information and expertise. It was so refreshing to not have them "sell" the dress to me. They were honest in that there were few alterations that could/should need to be done to their dresses-that I needed to truly love the entire dress, and I did! It was a very unique and intimate experience with some of the most gorgeous dresses I have ever tried on. Yoo and Sam were incredibly communicative and flexible-making time for me to come in in the evenings and earlier on Saturday for fittings and making sure that I had plenty of time to get alterations done. It was a truly wonderful experience that felt personal, professional and so very special. I got a lovely, congratulatory message from them right before my wedding and have been in touch since then exchanging pictures and gratitude. I would recommend this lovely place over and over again! -

I love the dress I purchased for my beach wedding from Saja. I knew as soon as I saw the dresses on their website that I was going to get my dress from Saja. This was the only store I visited and I was fortunate to find my dress so quickly and easily. I was originally dreading the dress shopping process, but Yoo, Kyra and Samantha made me feel so comfortable. They were all a pleasure to work with. I had such a great experience with them and love their dresses so much that I recently returned and bought another dress for an upcoming wedding I'm attending.
The tailor they recommended, John, also did a great job on my dress. I'm going to be taking my recent purchase back to him to get my dress straps shortened.
I highly recommend Saja. Their dresses are so pretty and unique. And you know they care -- they remembered my wedding date and checked in with me before the wedding and after!

I loved the dress I bought at Saja, and I had an amazingly positive experience working with Kyra and Samantha at the store. This was the first dress that I tried on, and after looking in several other shops at many other dresses I realized that I really loved the Saja style. Kyra was very flexible and went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with how the dress looked. She initially ordered me 2 sizes since we weren't sure which one would fit better, she had sample undergarments in the store for me to try and decide which looked best with the dress, she offered to hold the dress for me until right before the wedding (I was afraid I would ruin it somehow) and she steamed it for me after the tailoring was complete. Because Kyra was so intimately familiar with each dress, she offered great advice on how to wear each one and also how to accessorize.
Kyra recommended a tailor nearby (John at J &Y) who has been tailoring her dresses for a while at a competitive price. When I first walked into the tailor I was a little nervous because it did not appear to be the kind of place one would expect to find wedding dresses. However because I trusted Kyra so completely and because of John's vast experience with Saja dresses, I stayed and I'm so glad that I did. John did an amazing job and the dress came out perfect, just as I had envisioned.
Overall I would highly recommend Saja to anyone who loves their look . The staff was friendly, responsive, knowledgable and made the wedding dress shopping experience fun and stress free. I absolutely loved my dress and couldn't have been happier with the whole experience. -

From finding Saja on google...I couldn't believe I chose the first dress I tried on! It is NOT a wedding factory, so if you are looking for that...This isn't the place for you...If you want personal attention and intimacy when you put on that dress...then this is the place...From Kyra, to Samantha to Yoo the designer...They were AMAZING with a beautiful selection of unique wedding dresses! -

I wanted to look beautiful on my wedding day, but I also wanted to be comfortable. My wedding was outside in August, so I wanted a dress that would be very light and airy. I found the perfect dress at Saja. It was so pretty and unique. It fit into the rustic chic theme I had going. The staff at Saja was very professional and efficient. Saja provided me with the most beautiful dress...it seemed to have been made for me (seriously - the only alteration was to have it HEMMED....everything else fit perfectly!) I think everybody tells the bride that her dress is beautiful, but the best compliment I received was that the dress was "me." The customer service throughout the process was phenomenal as well - right up to an email from the store a week out, wishing me well for my upcoming wedding. I would recommend this shop to everyone, from my best friend to strangers on the street! -

Saja wedding dresses are so beautiful. I got so many compliments on my dress. It was so comfortable and tied in perfectly for my farm wedding. The beading is just stunning. I had my dress ready in record time and used a suggested tailor in the city that knew all of the Saja dresses and hemmed my dress perfectly. My only issue with Saja is that I had a hard time deciding which one to buy as so many of them worked perfectly on my body and I loved them ALL! Thank you for everything. -

When you buy your dress at Saja, you're in good hands. Yoo, the designer, will make sure you look beautiful and that the dress you select is not only perfect for you, but accessorized and tailored perfectly as well. She is a true wedding dress expert and if you like classic and understated, her dresses are not to be missed! And they're affordable too!
While shopping for a wedding dress, Saja, as a store, was not my favorite dress-shopping-experience. A few small things (that don't even warrant the removal of a star): 1. It's quiet. You feel silly and awkward cheering for a great dress... not the exciting dress-shopping experience that you typically envision, and that you get from other wedding dress stores. 2. No photos allowed in the store. This adds to the low-key and quiet atmosphere. 3. There is only one dressing room but sometimes they take 2 appointments at a time. This means you have to switch off dressing room usage with another bride-to-be. It's not a huge deal but it's a little awkward to leave your pants and bra in a room you're sharing with another girl. 4. It's little. I usually LOVE little but again, with two appointments at once, and such a quiet and "don't get too excited" feel, it adds to the awkwardness.
Really though, does any of that stuff even matter when you find the most perfect and beautiful wedding dress? What's most important is the reason you're there in the first place... THE DRESSES, and for that, Saja really delivers. I would 100% recommend Saja to any bride who wants a classic and modern dress without too much unnecessary poof or frill. -

After looking at a lot of stores online and not seeing what I wanted in a wedding dress, I came across Saja and immediately made an appointment. The dresses are all beautiful -- simple but not boring, reasonably priced (for a wedding dress) and comfortable. The store is small and the staff was very easy going and not overbearing at all. I found my dress easily, they notified me when it came in. It fit perfectly and only needed to be hemmed. They held it until closer to my wedding date and gave detailed instructions about hemming to pass on to the tailor. I am not someone who really enjoys shopping, but this was an easy experience and I loved my dress. -

I had to drive 3 hours to find a store that carries Saja bridal gowns (and the store actually only carried bridesmaids dresses - Saja was the ONLY line of bridal gowns in the store). I looked for a few months for a wedding gown and I disliked everything I saw... until someone showed me Saja. I tried on and loved a number of different gowns and can NOT be happier with the wedding dress I wore! This line is very simple yet very beautiful and elegant.... I LOVED it!! -

I loved all of Saja's simply beautiful wedding dresses, but the one I decided upon was perfect for me! The dress was comfortable and flattering. I felt beautiful wearing it!
Deciding upon and ordering my dress were also enjoyable experiences, very much unlike the stressful department store experiences that I encountered prior to walking through Saja's doors. Thea at Saja was incredibly helpful with sizing and making sure that my order was in on time for the dress to be delivered in plenty of time. Yoo Lee, the designer, was in the store when I went in to the boutique to try on the dresses. She was down to earth and helpful and didn't try to sell me anything on top of the dress and simple accessories I chose, which made me appreciate the dress that much more. -

I absolutely love my Saja gown (and so did my guests!). I bought it online at Once Wedd, but before I bought it I ordered a free fabric swatch from Saja to make sure that the color and texture was something that I was interested in. Once I ordered it and made sure that it fit, I had to figure out how to hem it (my aunt was going to hem it for me). I left a comment on Saja's facebook page asking about hemming, and the designer herself replied within a day, letting me know exactly how she does it and what length from the floor that she thinks looks best. The dress itself was 100% silk, super flowy and ethereal, and even though the temps were in the 90's and we had an outdoor wedding, I didn't break a sweat all day. Highly recommend. -

I had already purchased a wedding dress when I came upon a blog post about Saja. The dresses were so ethereal and lovely, I made a point to visit on an upcoming trip to NYC and fell in love with all of them. They feel wonderful on - light and soft - without any over the top additions. They are simple, affordable while being elegant and unique. Found Saja through New York Magazine's Wedding listings and couldn't be happier. I didn't want a strapless gown and didn't want to pay a fortune for a dress. I had a fitting in a lovely, serene shop and picked a simple, Grecian-esque gown that I accessorized with a black sash and a crystal belt. The owner and the other employee were excited to help me and welcoming of questions. The purchasing process and pickup was really easy, and they suggested a wonderful tailor to do the alterations. I got a really pretty dress that fit my hourglass frame that I would like to find a way to wear again. -

Saja gowns are some of the most beautiful around! I wanted to look different from all of the strapless, white, A-line brides out there and was having trouble finding a gown that was more on the non-traditional side. Once I tried on my Saja gown, I knew it was it! Lovely, simple details and easy to wear. I felt beautiful and timeless and still like a bride, but without all the tulle. You can't go wrong with Saja if you want something pretty, comfortable and a little less ordinary! And I received SO many compliments! -

I was looking for a simple, beautiful dress that I would feel comfortable dancing in (in other words, not your typical wedding dress) and Saja's dresses were exactly what I hoped to find. The dresses are lovely, ethereal, and romantic and Thea (the store manager) was lovely to deal with throughout the whole process. -

How much do we love Yoo and the Saja Bridal staff?! Two brides for the same wedding equals a smaller per dress budget. Lucky for us, the designs were etherial and flattering AND not far out of our budget. In fact, one was under and one was over, so I guess we came out even. We had a blast trying on dresses and it was such a wonderful experience. Our dresses blew in the breeze and were so gorgeous and comfortable and non-traditional. We felt beautiful and we loved them! -

SAJA wedding dresses are totally unique and incredibly beautiful! I had tried a few dresses on, but as soon as I arrived at SAJA I knew I would be buying one of their dresses and as soon as I put my dress on, I was ready to get married right then and there! Their dresses are gorgeous and full of intricate details but will not overwhelm you, and many of the dresses can be dyed or are simple enough to wear again! Their storefront is a bit small and their Saturdays are booked solid, which made them a bit hurried for my appointment, but the manager (Thea) was incredibly helpful and courteous and nothing affected how much I loved my dress! If you envisioned yourself in an ethereal, simple and gorgeous wedding dress, SAJA is your designer! -

I’ve binge-watched enough Say Yes to the Dress episodes to know that I did not want some kind of ostentatious, uncomfortable, or super-traditional gown. With a wedding in July, I wanted something I would be super comfortable in all day without sweating buckets, and something a little different from everyone else. A search for non-traditional wedding dresses brought me to Saja’s website, and I found a half-dozen just online that I wanted to try on. I made only one dress appointment, at this boutique, and had a great and personal experience. I was the only bride there with my mom and mother-in-law, and was able to try on all the ethereal dresses I wanted in a low-pressure environment without rushing. We bought the dress that day, and I came back a few months later to try it on again before taking it home. Yoo, the designer, was there and had great ideas about styling the dress also. They don’t tailor in the shop, but recommended a local seamstress who did a great job with the dress. -

After a terrible appointment at J.Crew, Saja was a breath of fresh air. The woman that worked there was friendly and helpful. The dresses were beautiful. It was such a treat to be the only people in the store trying on dresses. The whole experience felt very personalized and special. Having a boutique wedding dress felt lovely and made my wedding day feel even more one-of-a-kind knowing that I wasn't just another chick in a poly-satin strapless blah dress. However, there were two downsides that (ultimately didn't affect my decision to purchase from Saja) would have been nice if they had been different. I would have loved to be able to have a photograph of how I looked in the dress in order to have been better able to mull over my decision once I got home (Saja has a no photography policy). Trying on dresses is such a whirlwind that I feel like I didn't have a particularly distinct mental image of how I looked in the dress and it would have been nice to be able to ruminate a little. Also, their bridesmaid dresses were just a little to pricey for me to feel comfortable asking my bridesmaids to purchase. I'm sure plenty of brides are happy to ask their maids to purchase dresses that are $300+ to put on their bodies for 6hours, but I'm not one of them. It felt like a bit of a shame not to all be wearing gorgeous Saja gowns, but that's just how it panned out. -

I had a very nice experience with Saja. The owner was WONDERFUL every time. Once I visited and someone else was working and she was not as pleasant or eager to help. But, every other time it was a great experience. They held my dress for a few months so I did not have to find a place to store it, and all in all, it was a great experience. I found the prices to be slightly higher than what I had hoped, but absolutely in the running for my budget! And I know the dress will look beautiful. -

I LOVED my dress! I also bought a dress here for someone else's wedding. The clothes are beautiful. They are, though, off the rack, so don't expect the same kind of service/followup from an haute couture shop. Once you bought it, you bought it. But the prices are much lower, of course. I would buy from them again in a second. You probably can, though, get a better deal on the accessories (belts, etc.) elsewhere, at a, say, trimming shop. And I had a variety of problems with their recommended tailor for the minor alterations. -

Do wedding vendors use the "bridezilla" label to silence complaints from brides?
I was originally drawn to Saja because the simple designs were a perfect fit for the casual and small wedding I am having. I always thought that the search was all about finding "the dress." But I have now come to understand that part of the high price tag is about the process in which you have the dress tailored and fitted so that you look and feel good in your dress on your wedding day. Saja's dress designs may be pretty, but she fails to provide anything more.
Saja's owner works with closely with a tailor that she both advertises when you purchase a dress from her, and will profusely and glowingly recommend when you speak with her in person. When it turned out that the tailor that she strongly recommended couldn't sew a straight seam, I emailed trying to enlist her help in resolving the problem.
I assumed the owner would rush to my defense because she too would be angry that this person she was recommending to her brides was not doing professional work. Instead, she was defensive and rude. And I think what really concerned me--and has made me feel compelled to share my experience--is that even though I very clearly expressed that my dissatisfaction was about the technical quality of the tailoring, she tried to frame it as if I was neurotic and impossible.
I feel that she was leveraging a misogynist stereotype (about the impossible to please, irrational, and controlling woman) to pressure me into feeling that my concerns were not valid. The whole experience has got me wondering, how often are women "silenced" by their wedding vendors because they worry about appearing difficult or because someone tries to manipulate them into feeling that way?
I'd be curious--has anyone else out there had an experience like this, either with Saja or another vendor? Something tells me that it is something more widespread, but that we internalize as a personal issue. -
