    Five-Star Service / All-Inclusive Event

    If you're looking for a regal wedding / reception space with top-notch service, hotel and restaurants on site, definitely consider Saint John's Resort in Plymouth. The staff, service and amenities are unmatched. Our guests raved about everything: hotel accommodations, on-site restaurants, the Chapel, appetizer, plated dinner, bar offerings and overall service and ambiance. The Presidential Suite was the perfect getting ready space for the entire bridal party the morning of the big day.

    A beautiful venue which donates its profits to charity

    I had my wedding in the Mosaic ballroom and would work with Saint John’s again. The venue is incredibly beautiful and our out of town guests found the fact that it is self-contained with delicious restaurants and a hotel within it incredibly helpful. They include ceremony coordinators at the rehearsal dinner and the wedding itself, which I wasn’t aware of ahead of time, but many other venues do not. Some details about the venue (both the hotel and the facilities):

    1. The executive suite hotel room was very large and had a very comfortable seating area where we were able to do our hair and makeup comfortably.

    2. The detailing on the ceiling of the Mosaic ballroom was gorgeous for our photos, as were the fine oil paintings and ceiling ornamentation in the hallway.

    3. They had Christmas trees set up in the ballroom and across the hallways. They also had wreaths everywhere. This made for a festive and beautiful atmosphere that reduced our costs for decor.

    As for the food, we had gone to the menu tasting ahead of time and found the short rib and filet mignon menu options to be very high quality. We also were able to add on custom Irish appetizers that they were able to make for us from recipes from the Doyle’s Irish pub, such as Irish stew and shepherd’s pie. The French fry bar was very popular with our guests as were the sweet additions. The food objectively was more bountiful, varied, and higher quality than many other weddings that I have attended.

    The only drawbacks were that at times it was hard to reach the staff and there were a few items that I wish I had known ahead of time. For instance, I wasn’t told that the guests had to pre-select their entrees until about a month before the wedding, which was ok since I had a small wedding and could text people, but I could see how that would be a challenge with a larger wedding. Additionally, we had booked the conference rooms for the wedding party to use throughout the evening, but they moved our items out early around 6 pm when we had the rooms booked for the entire night. This added some unnecessary stress on the wedding evening, as we had Irish dancers that needed to use the rooms to warmup. We also were allowed to use the bridal suite for a few minutes before the ceremony, but they wouldn’t allow us to take a photo overlooking the church from the bridal suite, which seems harsh, especially when I am catholic, it was my wedding day, and the door was right in front of us.

    However, all the profits from the venue go to charity, which really sets this venue apart from others. It is a fair value for the caliber of the offerings and their breadth of experience with hosting at least three weddings a weekend came in handy with the room setup and organization. I would work with Saint John’s again and it truly is a beautiful venue.

    A dream come true

    We hope you are lucky enough to work with Sarah at Saint John’s Resort. SJR was rebranding at the time we signed our wedding contract (previously The Inn at St John’s), and we were passed around to a couple different coordinators. Sarah was our last and by far the best. She was quick to answer all questions and always eased our concerns. SJR is a gorgeous, all-in-one venue and that was a huge selling point for us. Go book a tour with Sarah and fall in love with the venue like we did!

    Very Disappointed.

    The landscaping of this venue and the ceremony room is beautiful The ballrooms are average and outdated. The biggest problem with this venue is the salesperson and the lack of professionalism, enthusiasm, and responsiveness. This is a joyous occasion and the people involved should be pleasant and friendly. I was going to book my daughter's wedding here. We had visited the venue and were ready to sign a contract and pay the deposit. It took me at least 2 weeks to get the sales person, anybody, to call me back. THEY NEVER DID. I eventually ended up calling one last time and a salesperson finally answered the phone. It seemed as if she answered by mistake. After I met with this person she indicated that if the supervisor had not left that evening, the contract would be emailed to me that evening. If the supervisor had left for the day, I would receive the contract the next day. After almost a week of waiting for the contract with no follow ups and no return calls, I finally received it . Then, once we got the contract, it was not what we discussed. She had the minimum number guests increased by 30.

    The Most Magical Day

    Saint John's Resort is the most magical place to get married in December. The holiday decorations were absolutely gorgeous and made for some great pictures. Our wedding day was smooth and any minor problems that came up were taken care of quickly by the staff. The convenience of having the chapel, reception room, and hotel all in the same building was priceless for both my husband and I, and the wedding guests. Christine was consistent and super helpful throughout the entire process from touring the venue, all the way to the wedding day.

    Amazing! No complaints! 5 stars ✨

    The Inn was Amazing! I have no complaints. Everyone was so helpful! Christine and the entire staff. I appreciate you all so much. It was the most magical day for our Christmas wedding ❤️

    Highly recommend

    The Inn at St. Johns was an amazing wedding venue one reason being it was a one-stop-shop! We got married in the beautiful chapel, had our reception in the atrium, and we also had a send off brunch the morning after! The atrium was beautiful, all my dream came true when I saw the room, it was so nice to be able to spread out a little with the Samuel Room, and the Grotto for the cocktail hour. The service we received when planning our ceremony and reception were amazing and had support through it all. Stacy was a beautiful vocalist and violinist, she took our ceremony to the next level. The service we received during the reception was exceptional and received many compliments. Michael was the server for the head table, and parent tables, he was so attentive, making sure we had everything we needed, packed up food for us at the end of the night and made sure they were in our room, he was awesome. One area we did have a few hiccups with were the hotel, it was difficult to secure early check in ahead of time for our guests who were in the wedding, we brought hotel bags for our guests and not everyone received one, and lastly I was told I would get ready in the presidential suite or the ambassador room and when I checked in I was very disappointed to learn I would not be. As a bride if you are looking at the Inn at St. Johns and your dream is to get ready in the The Presidential Suite or the Ambassador room I would double and triple check your reservation status on your own even if your coordinator says they have it all taken care of.

    They don't care about you or your business

    I would have easily gotten married here, but it was pulling teeth getting their staff to respond to me. I had to email multiple times in a row and would seldom get a response or acknowledgement that it took over 1 month to get a response. We did a pseudo tour and followed up immediately afterwards because the venue is gorgeous. Again, never got a response. It made our decision very easy and we chose to get married at the Colony Club in Detroit, instead!

    A Great All-in-One Wedding Venue!

    Despite all of the pandemic ups and downs, we had an amazing experience working with the Inn at St. John's. Linda, Kathy, and all the rest of the staff is friendly, accommodating, and extremely knowledgeable. The chapel is absolutely beautiful and the food is amazing. There is also an amazing bridal suite that is incredibly spacious with lots of mirrors, a bathroom, and a gorgeous balcony view of the chapel. There is no natural light in the bridal suite though, so I would recommend doing your make-up before hand and just doing touch-ups in the suite.

    We highly recommend staying at the hotel if you're able to. The rooms are clean, spacious, and again, the service is exceptional. Our guests also raved about the restaurant's food!

    Beautiful venue

    The venue, especially the chapel, is such a beautiful place. They also know how to keep everything running on time from the ceremony to starting the reception to dinner courses. We received many compliments on the food and service.

    Best Reception Venue

    We could not have imagined a better wedding day than we had. It was seriously a fairytale wedding. We had our reception in the atrium. Everything was set up flawlessly. The service was amazing. The people who work here are so attentive. They offered to take our dinner and save it for us under a warmer and deliver it to our room after the night was over because we never sat down! We worked with Manda Lawson who was there with us every step of the way. I cannot recommend her more! She made everything so easy! We also worked with Lindsay Omelia and Emily Monti who were both amazing as well. Thank you so much for making our day perfect and so so brautiful!

    Fairytale perfection

    I found this venue with my daughter, for her 11.02.2019 wedding this past weekend. We met with Manda well over a year ago and she took care of us along the entire journey. We live in the area, so it was not a destination wedding for us, but we had many out of town guests. Fortunately, the guest rooms at The Inn were beautiful and plentiful and accommodated many of our guests.

    It was a weekend affair! Friday was the rehearsal in the amazingly beautiful European style chapel, followed by a great and delicious rehearsal dinner at 5ive Steakhouse. After that, we spilled out onto the main floor of 5ive to mingle with our other guests who had joined us for the welcome reception.

    Saturday, the couple was married in the chapel, followed by more partying at 5ive and then into the unbelievably gorgeous Atrium for cocktail hour and the reception. Absolutely stunning and perfect!

    Sunday, all of the guests who were still in town joined us for a send-off buffet breakfast. Again, absolutely beautiful, organized, well-run and perfect.

    So those are the details. This property is an amazing hidden gem. It has everything a couple might need for their wedding day/weekend. We had so many compliments from everyone, in and out of town!

    But it had to be more than the property itself to prompt me to leave this review. That’s where this highly trained staff enters the picture. They turned this beautiful, picturesque property into the fairytale wedding of my daughter’s and her husband’s dreams! Manda (sales manager) helped me take my and my daughter’s vision and turn it into reality. Manda worked tirelessly, patiently and thoroughly with me and everyone at St. John’s. Some of the other outstanding people we worked with were Kathy (chapel), Emily (The Inn), Lindsay (bookkeeping and someone to reach out to when Manda had a day off), Mistie (5ive), the banquet captain’s, servers, Connor (breakfast) and on and on. There were so many people who did their jobs flawlessly. I am sorry I cannot name them all and give them all the credit that they deserve, but without exception, they are a well-trained staff who does their job quietly and professionally. They are truly a service- and customer- oriented crew.

    I strongly recommend this venue, to anybody wishing for the royal treatment!

    Easy to Work with, Beautiful Location!

    Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! We held our ceremony and reception here. Everything was amazing, and super easy to plan. The folks here are true professionals- we didn’t feel the need for a wedding planner or day of coordinator because weddings are what they do, and they do it well. The food was absolutely incredible, and planning with Christine was a breeze and a delight. If you’re looking for stress free planning and an absolutely gorgeous location, this is your place! It’s definitely worth a look if you’re looking around- the intro info packet is super helpful, and there are tons of pictures online to help show what they transform the reception spaces into.

    The Perfect Venue!

    The Inn at St. John's exceeded our expectations for our wedding! From the planning period to the actual day, they were incredible! We had the honor of working with Ella. She was so professional and helpful as we made all of our reception selections. Our day of ran so smoothly. The Inn went above and beyond to make sure our plans were carried out flawlessly! The food was amazing, service incredible, and the overall setting perfect!

    reception perfection

    We held our wedding reception in the Atrium at the Inn. When I first saw pictures of the Atrium I knew that we needed to have our wedding there. We began working with Linda, who was lovely, to create our perfect wedding day. We were unable to join the large group menu tasting so they arranged a private tasting for us and even surprised us with champagne since it was our anniversary. Linda was away on leave and Ella took over coordinating in our final few weeks. The transition was very smooth and Ella handled all of our final decisions and last minute questions. On the day of the wedding I was blown away with how beautiful the room looked. The serving team was amazing and took such great care of the wedding party and made sure we always had food, drinks and anything else we possibly needed/wanted. We received compliments all night about how great the service was and are still having people compliment the service a month later. I would not hesitate to recommend having your wedding at the Inn. The Atrium is absolutely beautiful and the staff from the wedding coordinators, to the servers, to the bartenders all make sure that everything is perfect on the day of your wedding.

    This place holds special meaning for my husband and I. He proposed in the chapel here and we got married in it and it is absolutely beautiful! We also had our reception in one of the small ballrooms and everything went so smoothly. The staff here is so well-managed, it took much of the stress out of planning our wedding. The catering was top-notch, and all the employees helping plan our wedding/reception were helpful as can be. It was almost like having a wedding planner! All our guests were gushing over The Inn at St. John's after our wedding. If you want a beautiful Catholic chapel, and less wedding stress I highly highly recommend. Also, the Atrium is stunning!

    The Inn is one of the most gorgeous venues any Michigan bride could want for her wedding. The hotel is beautiful, the atrium is perfect, the food is delicious, and the waitstaff go
    above and beyond. This place is such a wedding mill though that the most important day of your life becomes just another event. My husband and I were very frustrated with the planning process here. Once you sign the contract, expect to wait months before you hear anything from your coordinator, and when you do, any requests you have will be met with resistance or just be "forgotten." The biggest disappointment of our wedding involved the floor plan which we were told would be taken care of. Behind the Atrium is the Grotto room where your guests get appetizers and drinks before the reception starts. The one thing we asked for was that the Grotto be closed off after the reception started so that guests wouldn't linger back there in a separate area. We wanted to keep everyone closer to the dance floor. This didn't happen even though we'd been told it was no problem, and the doors to that area stayed wide open the whole night. It seems like a small thing, but it really affected the party atmosphere and the night as a whole for us, and all because our coordinator couldn't be bothered to take care of it.
    We had another issue as well. The air conditioning broke temporarily in the atrium the day of our wedding. This obviously isn't their fault, and it was fixed by the time the reception started, but the problem was that the cake had already been delivered during the heat wave. I found out several days after my wedding that rather than put the cake in a cooler or offer any solution, the Inn left my expensive wedding cake to melt. The bakery owner was called to come back to fix it, which she shouldn't have had to do.
    With what you pay to have your wedding here, the coordinating service is pretty disappointing.

    Spectacular, gorgeous, fantastic! Every positive word that you can think of could be used to describe the experience of planning a wedding at the Inn at St. John's. My husband and I got married at the Inn in June 2018 and could not have been happier with how it turned out. We held our rehearsal dinner, reception and day after brunch at the Inn at St. John's. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and perfectly executed 3 different events during our wedding weekend. From the chapel, the Grande Ballroom, the gorgeous grounds, and the beautiful hotel, the Inn at St. John's is a magnificent venue and we would select it again 1000 times. Although all of the staff were wonderful, Linda Johnson, our wedding coordinator, went above and beyond! She is so incredibly nice, well organized, and just knows weddings better than anyone ever could. We enjoyed working with her so much and just want to say thank you to her and to the entire staff for creating a true fairytale wedding for us and for going above and beyond to make sure it flowed perfectly! We would highly recommend the Inn at St. John's to anyone and could not have asked for a more beautiful wedding to start our lives together. Thanks again for everything! It was an exquisite experience!

    This was hands down the most fabulous venue! We were so well taken care of! Our wedding coordinator went above and beyond. We had an issue with our wedding cake and she contacted the baker to make sure there was something available for my guests! The food was incredible, the Atrium was gorgeous, and the service was amazing! Loved every moment of my reception from start to finish!

    This venue was beyond any of our hopes and dreams come true. It was such a beautiful and elegant venue to start with that decorations really were minimally needed, which was a good thing as we are minimalists, and we had a parting of ways with our planner 2 wks prior to the event -Yikes! However, with a little maneuvering and the help elicited by the bridesmaids, the staff at The Inn and family members, things went off without a hitch! We got married in the Chapel and the staff that we worked with were beyond accommodating, professional and most efficient. One thing is that unless they needed to contact us regarding something, there wasn't a lot of back and forth. This may concern some people, but for me who has 100's of emails a day, knowing that I could trust the professionals to do their job, was most helpful. When and if there were questions, they were right on the mark with communications. There were a couple of times that the communication was a little lagging, but I am not sure if that was my fault or theirs, so I just made sure to follow back up and it was most definitely addressed by the 2nd request (this did not happen very often). We planned the entire event from start to finish in under 7 months and pulled it off without a hitch. The food was beyond delicious, everyone was talking about it for weeks after. The Ceremony and the Venue was also the talk of the town at both of our work places for weeks too! Linda was very calming and had everything under control at all times. We used the Judea room and could have been happier with the results. Plenty of room without feeling like sardines. We did use the Nazareth room for appetizers/cocktail hour and that was the way to go. We did use a Promotion, but you would have never known that we received special pricing. We were waited on hand and foot and made to feel like royalty throughout the entire day.

    I still still cannot get over how absolutely gorgeous our wedding was. I would recommend the Inn at St. John's absolutely anyone, without hesitation. From our initial meeting with Ella, you could really tell how much she cared about making our day the best it could be. Ella was constantly available by phone or email and always willing to help and offer advice when needed. She always had a way of calming me down with my crazy off the wall questions. The day of the wedding was PERFECT. My husband and I are still talking about how impressed we were with everything. The day of coordinators were a huge help with all of my decor and extra stuff like table numbers, place cards, guest book and bathroom baskets, etc....everything was exactly how I wanted it! Our guests are also still talking about the quality of service, how great the food was and how perfect their steaks were cooked, the drinks and how generous the bar tenders were, the hotel rooms, the staff, everything. I could go on and on. I could not be happier with our wedding and will continue to recommend the Inn to anyone looking for a beautiful reception venue. The Grande Ballroom is simply beautiful.     We are extremely happy with this venue! Our guests continue to rave that it was the best wedding they attended. The staff are excellent, the grounds are breathtaking, food is divine, and I can go on and on! I hear horror stories of brides extremely stressed on their wedding day. This was not the case for me and I attribute it the staff. Linda was on top of it! She pulled everything together for us. Janette V., Colleen, Jenna K. and Shante P. were all so helpful and very prompt with responses. Kathy K. helped tremendously with our ceremony as well as Cathy and Peggy. This was my dream wedding!
