Excellent!

Ryan is great! He was prompt to communicate with us throughout the whole planning process. He is extremely nice and great at his job. He took what we wanted the dance floor to look like and put it into action. Couldn’t recommend him enough! :)

Ryan Smith review

Ryan DJ’d our wedding in January and was SO attentive to our wishes. We are both pretty laid back and basically just laid out how we want the vibe to feel and he totally nailed it. We had SO MANY people tell us how great the music was. I have already recommended him to a couple other people!

A great DJ to have for any event (high quality, low price)

Ryan was an amazing DJ! Not only did he play my playlist well (mixed and varied genres), he was also a “day of coordinator”—he helped the wedding party line up, walk during the ceremony, entrances to the reception, and all the other main stuff during the reception! The lights and sound were great as well as transitions into different songs! He didn’t talk in between songs and only announced things that we discussed! Definitely recommend!

Exactly what we hoped for!

Ryan was super nice and very responsive. He listened to what we had to say and put all the songs we wanted on our list. He’s very accommodating and we worked really well together!

Great DJ for Wedding

Ryan was super easy to work with and did an excellent job for our wedding and reception! He had worked at our venue before (The Bluestone) and charges by the event rather than a set number of hours. He helped us greatly in planning the timeline of our day and made sure the dance floor was never empty! He was able to blend our multicultural music perfectly so that everyone joined in the dancing. Would highly recommend!

All great things!

Even though we didn’t meet Ryan in person until the day of, he was always quick to respond to calls or emails leading up to the day and he definitely did not disappoint on the day of. He was ready to please our music wants and needs for the day and made sure we were all on track with the correct songs and artists so that our reception playlist would turn out as planned. His setup with lights and speakers in multiple rooms was absolutely perfect & we truly could not have asked for a better DJ.

Ryan was the best DJ that we could have hoped for. His experience made it easy for use to not only select the music we wanted, but also helped immensely when it came to the schedule for the day and keeping the whole wedding on track. Ryan is awesome. I’ve never hosted anything like this and had no idea what to expect from the DJ. When I tell you that this man saved our butts at this wedding I am not kidding. He was very familiar with the venue, he understood the assignment, and he outperformed his expectation. I would recommend him for truly any event. He was so supportive, helpful, thorough, and curious about us and kind; endlessly kind. Ryan, you are the best aroooound.

Dance Floor Was Always Full

I cannot refer enough people to Ryan. He was fantastic to work with, the quality of music and lights was awesome, and he did a great job of weaving together all the disparate elements of the event and walking is through how it all becomes one wedding. We have had several guests request the playlist he made for cocktail hour, and our dance floor was always full! Great job reading the crowd.

Perfect Professional DJ!

We could not have asked for a better DJ than Ryan! We knew after our first meeting with him that he was the perfect vendor for our wedding: extremely knowledgeable, reassuring, and invested in making our wedding exactly what we wanted. He was immediately responsive to every request we made and gave us great advice (timelines, setting the right tone, how to prep our bridal party, etc.). He even cleaned up the audio for our homemade first dance medley and sent us several versions until it sounded perfect! During the wedding, he kept everything moving and everyone having a great time. He listened to all of our requests, including making sure there were a few slow dances. He even got up on a chair to instruct our somewhat raucous bridal party on how to enter! We are so glad we went with him; he made the evening stress-free and a blast!

Always put us first!

Ryan was an awesome DJ for our wedding! Music was one of the most important things to me (the bride) and some of my ideas were super specific and a little corky! Ryan always offered his professional opinion and expertise but overall always made it VERY clear that the day was about me and my fiancé and what we wanted. He was always willing to take my call/text when I had questions and he was a pleasure to work with! He did everything we asked and more :)

Pandemic Wedding

We had to postpone due to the Pandemic, and Ryan was so quick to give us new dates and help us pick a better time to have the event. He was very professional and made sure we stayed on schedule for the ceremony and reception. The music was great! We definitely recommend Ryan to anyone that’s got an event coming up.

Ryan Smith: The Best DJ!

Without Ryan as our DJ for our wedding, I don't think our wedding would have been the same. He nailed it; every, single detail. We had a pre-wedding meeting with Ryan to level-set on what we wanted and what we did not want. After this meeting, we knew we picked the right DJ. He has more experience doing weddings in Columbus than anybody we could find. During our reception, he even went up to my wife and apologized for playing a certain song when she stepped away to use the restroom! She was not upset at all, but the attention to detail was out of this world! My sister is getting married this year and has already booked him for her wedding. Look no further, Ryan Smith should be your DJ for your wedding (if he is not already booked!)

Such a great DJ!

I was very happy with choosing Ryan Smith! I had a list of songs from different Genres and he was able to create a really great play list with them and even add in his own suggestions. My wedding guests danced all night and we got many compliments on the DJ!

Professional and Fun

My husband Kevin and I contracted Ryan to DJ for our wedding reception. Ryan was very professional from the very beginning, explaining what he would need from us and the venue. Based on the playlist we provided and what we discussed, he created a great set for both the reception and dance portion of the evening. People were tearing up the dance floor. It was a truly special night.

Super easy to work with

Ryan was awesome to work with, and rolled with the punches when rain interrupted our outdoor ceremony.

He really listened to our song requests, and offered great recommendations. He also mixed together a very special song for the father-daughter dance.

Amazing DJ!!

If you are looking for a DJ to play at your wedding, just stop what you’re doing and call Ryan Smith! When it came to what was most important in our wedding, finding a good DJ was at the top of our list. We had multiple friends and family members ask that night, “Where did you find your DJ? He was amazing.” And they were right. Ryan did a great job keeping people on the dance floor and reading the room; we had dancing for about 3 hours, and it was never empty thanks to Ryan. He respected the no-play list as well as our recommendations and timed everything perfectly. He even helped me pull off a surprise performance from our colleges marching band right in the middle of the reception. If it wasn’t for him, I don’t think I would have been able to pull it off!

Overall, Ryan is a true professional and we are so happy we picked him to DJ our wedding. We will most definitely consider him for future events and we’ve already shared his contact information with other couples who are getting married next year.

Incredible experience!

We cannot express enough what a great experience we had working with Ryan! We felt like he understood our musical taste from the first meeting (a little traditional, a little quirky) and, perhaps more importantly, he had a strong understanding of what our venue required to ensure flawless sound/service upstairs for our ceremony and dinner as well as downstairs for cocktail hour and reception...with back up plans in the event something goes awry. He knew whether or not we needed mics and when and, as a self-proclaimed control freak, we did not have to worry about a single thing related to MC service and music the entire evening. He was undetectable most of the time but was right there with us the few times we needed him for something. He even went along with some of our antics as the night went on! Can't say enough...great hire. You will not be disappointed!!! (Conga line and bunny head costumes in pictures were our choice not DJ forced HA!)

Incredible Service and Excellent Experience on the dance floor

From the very first meeting all the way through to the wedding itself we couldn't have asked for a more flexible, experienced, prepared and knowledgable DJ. All the meetings and the decisions we had to make for the event schedule/music list etc were very easy and smooth because of how prepared and professional he was. Also, he had some great advice, suggestions and insights into how to make our dancefloor fun, high energy and full of people for the entire dancing portion of the evening. Ryan's immense knowledge of the local event venues/spaces was very useful when setting up the floorplan (dancefloor/microphone/speakers etc). He was a pleasure to work with!

Absolutely Amazing!

Ryan was amazing! He made our wedding music memorable (seriously, everyone is still talking about from October)! I felt so comfortable talking with him and I knew he was really listening. Ryan was so great to work with for our wedding! He's experienced, friendly and knowledgeable. We threw him a few challenges with mixing up songs and he handled it like the PRO he is! Ryan should be your DJ!

Ryan was amazing! We wanted something a little different for a few aspects of our reception and he totally delivered. He edited a song for our first dance multiple times and found the perfect sound that we wanted. Our guests raved about the music afterward and I personally thought the music was kick a$$. He is responsive and will give you what you want and provide good insights when you have no idea. Pick Ryan if you want a memorable and perfect night!

We recently hired Ryan to be the DJ and master of ceremony for our son’s wedding ceremony and reception. Ryan did a great job and has an easy, laid back attitude. We had one guest tell me that he really appreciated the fact that our reception was so well orchestrated (introduction, speeches, dances, etc). This was a Mexican/American wedding and another guess pleasantly commented on the diversity of the songs. I would highly recommend Ryan for weddings and events.

Wedding DJs are often overlooked or seen as a vendor you can cut costs with. I couldn't disagree more - I've been to weddings with not so great DJs, and it really changes the vibe! Thankfully, we booked Ryan - and couldn't recommend him more, he was so great! We kept everything on track, had a nice setup, arrived on time, had backup music in case our string quartet didn't show up (just as a precaution), was so professional and accommodating, and was just really a joy to have around. He really made it easy on us, and we are so happy we booked him.

Our wedding planner recommended Ryan to DJ at our wedding. From the moment I contacted him, I knew that he was fit for the job. He was very professional and wanted to ensure that the music was exactly how we wanted it. He was the perfect guide to help us pick out songs. He was so kind to make sure that the music for the ceremony was taken care of as well. We liked being able me meet and speak with him personally, and not feel that we were one of many in a business. We sent him a list of songs to include some in our set if he could - and he played pretty much all of them! He really understood our style and put together a whole night of music that was exactly what we wanted and our guests loved too. He was organized, thorough, and made sure he had the versions of every song we wanted for specific things (first dance, father-daughter dance, cake cutting, etc.). We would recommend him to anyone and choose him again!

Ryan was amazing to work with. I had emailed him over a holiday weekend not expecting a response back on pricing until Monday morning, but he surprised me and responded back almost immediately. He is very organized , professional and kind AND extremely knowledgeable in the field of music. My husband and I had a great time not only in meeting and speaking with him prior to the wedding but he was fantastic the day of the wedding. Ryan did the music for the ceremony and the reception and even provided a mic for our pastor. Being an overly organized bride, Ryan made it easy and comfortable the day of the wedding. Ryan did an awesome job as the DJ of our wedding. His method of playing music with a similar beat from different generations was genius. It kept all guests of all ages on the dance floor the whole night. We gave him basic music likes and dislikes and he was able to put together the perfect playlist for us. Ryan was also flexible, easy going and extremely easy to work with. I cannot say enough positive things about our experience with Ryan. He did an awesome job and really helped make our day perfect.

Ryan was amazing. I have some strange tastes in music, but Ryan was able to take my playlist and adjust as needed to make everybody happy and kept the party going.

We experienced a microburst 10 minutes before I was to walk down the aisle, and Ryan was able to work effectively with my officiant to adjust the timeline to accommodate moving the cocktail hour before the ceremony. He worked throughout the evening with my other vendors to keep things moving.

I could not have been more pleased. He was nimble in adjusting our plans due to unforeseeable conditions on the ground the day of, and thoroughly professional.

Ryan Smith is amazing! No question about it! We wanted a DJ to keep the party going. We've been to weddings in the past where the DJs were terrible, so picking a worthy DJ was highly important to us! Ryan was a preferred DJ at our venue, but after reading all of his reviews since 2007, we noticed a common theme (i.e. he's amazing). Ryan was extremely helpful during the wedding reception. He worked very well with our vendors and guests. He catered to us! He played every song that we wanted and more. He gave us sound bits before the wedding to make sure it was the exact song we wanted. This is Ryan's full-time job and has been for the last 15 years. To me, that says he's the best DJ in town!

Ryan was excellent in every way! He worked my wedding a month ago and I couldn't have been happier with the music. Ryan was great at understanding what kind of "mood" I was going for in all areas of the wedding ceremony and reception. Ryan Smith is a true professional and knows how to run a wedding from start to finish. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone. We were nervous about a DJ because we've seen so many cheesy, amateur performances at other weddings. At our wedding, there was no one hot mic, wrong song played, or lapse in the timeline. Ryan is SUPER responsive, works with you to make sure there is a "back up plan" for everything (just in case!), and then executes on everything he promised. I really wanted him to play Girl Talk at our wedding, but it's filled with curse words. He surprised me with an edited version that was family friendly! The day-of he was on time, really laid low, but kept everything moving in a quiet way. He worked with me to make sure names were pronounced correctly, that our ceremony would go smoothly, mics were in the right place at the right time, and spent a lot of time with me over the phone to make sure I felt good about everything. Since I had been planning my wedding from across the country, this was really important to me and I never felt rushed or ignored. Yes, you need some Ryan Smith DJ at your wedding. He ROCKS!

Ryan was awesome!! He basically won the job before we even met him because he was the most responsive of all the Wedding DJ's we contacted. He continued to be great at communicating with us and was also very flexible and was able to meet with us after work hours at a place near our house. He had a ton of helpful info and it was immediately clear that he knew his stuff. He even gave us a few great questions to ask our videographers and venue coordinator.

Ryan provided an amazing evening and consistently went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. We met with him a month before our wedding and had a very specific image of what we wanted. Ryan was incredibly accommodating, even though our wedding was very unusual. He was willing to acquire dozens of songs, even consulting with me repeatedly to make sure everything was the proper version. He also acquired and edited two special songs, one for a first dance and another for the midnight song. Every time I e-mailed him a specific request or question he replied within 24 hours with a comprehensive answer, or a new song edit for me to consider. On the day of, he arrived an hour and a half early, provided full service for the ceremony (which was not included in our original deal), and had the reception room set up and ready to go before the first guest arrived. Lastly, his personality and poise during the evening were exactly what we asked of him. He does charge a little more than the "bargain" DJs, but the difference is absolutely worth it.

Ryan was amazing! We wanted the music at our reception to be central to the event and to the celebration - and Ryan definitely delivered. He listened to all of our requests (even for some foreign songs!) and he had all beautiful cocktail hour and dinner music as we had planned and a rocking dance party :).

When we were first looking for a DJ, we met with SEVERAL different vendors and Ryan stood out above them all. He's just a real guy - nothing cheesy, plasticy, showy - just very calming and professional! He was the most prompt and organized vendor we worked with - he contacted us immediately when we reached out with any questions or any emails/calls. He also met with us on two different occasions and was patient with us.

The night of the wedding, we had a FULL DANCE FLOOR, until our event space time ran out! It was fantastic --- all songs we loved, none that we said he should avoid.

Ryan also books per event -- so it's not an hourly rate or a "4" or "5" hour window like many DJ's offer and he included all the dance floor lighting, which really added to the event!

Overall, we would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Ryan Smith for your next event. Reliable, professional, prompt, courteous, and GREAT at what he does.

Ryan was very polite and professional throughout the entire process leading up to and including our wedding. We were literally changing songs on our playlist up until the day before the wedding and Ryan was still able to accommodate us. I heard nothing but great things about him and the music he played from our guests and we could not have been happier! We would certainly choose him again and we will definitely recommend him to our friends without hesitation.

He helped me picture how the entire day would flow which was a huge weight off my shoulders. He was very knowledgeable, asked questions i didn't even know to ask, and reassured me it was ok that I didn't know all the answers.

Ryan was amazing! Our reception was perfect. The music flowed so naturally. He put together a wonderful set list that incorporated all the songs that we wanted to hear and songs that he thought would work well for our particular guests. Our guests danced the night away! He even sent us files of our special songs to make sure that they were correct and what we wanted. The lights were also perfect. Not over barring, but also not boring. He was super responsive and answered all of our emails and phone calls very quickly. He truly listened to what we wanted and delivered just that. What more could you ask for!

We had no idea what to expect when we were looking for a DJ for our wedding. Ryan was recommended to us by a venue we were looking at. They said "he is the best DJ in Columbus". Ryan is very professional and very detail oriented. He is very experienced and had many suggestions that helped us handle other aspects of our reception. We met with him a few times to discuss the details and he helped us build our reception timeline. He grasped the idea of the kind of party we wanted very quickly and delivered a night our guests really loved and won't stop talking about. We wanted a fun party atmosphere and that's what we got. All of our guests were dancing all night! Ryan was able to get any song we wanted. We chose a version of a song that we couldn't find anywhere other than on youtube with a very bad sound, and Ryan found it for us. He was also able to find a few Brazilian bossa nova songs we wanted and that was very nice. Ryan had a plan B for everything. We did not use him during the ceremony but he was there and he had all of the ceremony songs as a backup just in case something happened. We are not experts on equipment, but all of his equipment seemed top of the line and he even made sure everything was properly mic'd for our ceremony. We would highly recommend him.

Ryan was a great DJ for our wedding reception. He accommodated all our requests, including playing some traditional Greek dances, and was great at judging the mood of the crowd and keeping things moving. He was always communicative and quick to respond to our e-mails, and was great about making sure we were comfortable with everything on the day.

Ryan was great. He was flexible with a couple last minute changes we needed and really kept the party going while also checking in with us to make sure we knew what was happening next. Awesome party. I already have friends asking for his information!!!

Ryan was a great MC for the Reception.
He made sure:
- the names were correct when introducing the wedding party,
- the evening event flowed seamlessly, and
- the music reflected the wishes of the bride and groom.
Ryan met with us early in the process and was very easy to work with throughout the months leading up to the wedding. He is very knowledgeable and professional.

Ryan is very professional, organized, and flexible. His thoroughness and easy-going personality made this portion of our wedding planning extremely easy. This meant a lot to us as planning a wedding can be stressful at times ;) Most importantly, we appreciated Ryan's ability to manage our guests and keep them on the dancefloor throughout the wedding. Ryan was awesome to work with and one of our favorite vendors we worked with on our wedding day! He was very organized and kept everything going smoothly. He kept people on the dance floor all night- and I was concerned we were going to have a bare dance floor because our crowd was older. We had a blast and received many compliments about Ryan afterwards. I would recommend Ryan to anyone!

Ryan was the DJ at our wedding, and did a fabulous job. He helped us plan out the reception, and made sure thjngs were close to on time. The music he played fit with our group of people. We would recommend him to anyone!

Ryan was very attentive and prompt on responding back to e-mails or phone calls. He was very concise on explaining the type of equipment and going over the details of the event. He provided a good mix of music and used the music we provided for the event. Overall a very good DJ and I would highly recommend him.

Ryan was awesome! He was very professional and answered emails quickly. He set up a meeting with us to ensure everything was as we expected and double checked things too. He also provided ceremony music and a mic for the officiant, which was a worry I could cross off my list. He made necessary announcements but kept the music flowing otherwise. I'd recommend him with no reservations!
