Amazing Experience
Carolyn and Rick were great to work with on our daughter’s wedding. They were so professional and so personal from the bridal portrait to wedding day photography, music, and photo booth. We highly recommend them !! -

Ryan Photography, DJ and Lighting was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. Carolyn and Rick were absolutely incredible! Our package included Photography, DJ, Photo Booth, Uplighting and Engagement Session. What was so cool about the DJ service is that Rick sent out a link to an online request form about 2 weeks before the wedding that our guests absolutely loved! They really got into it, and this helped shape the music our DJ chose. There are no words for Carolyn and the amazing photos her and Rick took for us. While we only have a preview at the moment, they are exactly what we wanted. Carolyn and Rick do not do your cookie-cutter photos, they take the chance to get to know you and really make magical moments appear. They even did a phone meeting with us (would have done in person but I didn't have time) just a few days before our wedding to make sure we were all on the same page. Our guests absolutely adored the photo booth as well and were entertained all night by the great music. Thank you to their whole crew for making a memorable night. One more thing I'll say is that our engagement photos also turned out better than I could have ever dreamed. They were so us! -

We could not be more thrilled about our wedding photos! They are beyond gorgeous! We made some changes in the planning phase, and finally decided to just back off and let Carolyn and Rick make suggestions, which we followed. They were a joy the whole day and got absolutely stunning photos. Going Ryan Photography was the best vendor decision of our wedding! Thank you for making my day so wonderful! You guys are the best! -

We used this group for our wedding DJ and could not have been more pleased! We had Rob as our DJ, who was absolutely wonderful! He was so easy to work with and really tried hard to customize our wedding just as we envisioned. We unfortunately had some bad weather during our wedding and needed to make some last minute adjustments to the ceremony, but Rob was so flexible! The dance floor was full until the very end of the night, and people were even requesting one more song at the end to keep the party going! We had a blast and would highly recommend them! -

We had Ed and he was a breeze to work with! The company has an online planning option, but I was over zealous and already had a whole playlist and timeline made. Ed called us the week of and went through our plan including pronunciations of names. He literally let us do what we wanted. We gave him a playlist and told him to play the room and he could deviate from the list which he did wonderfully. He kept us on schedule the day of by approaching us and asking if we were ready for "insert event" here. Would recommend to all!
We also had photo booth and I wish I remembered his name but he was great too. So by photo booth what they do is have a black background and the camera on a tripod. The nice man moved the camera to accommodate all who wanted to be in the shots, 3 per shoot. The border of the prints are very basic but no sweat. Could be our fault because we never specified a style. They print immediately and he said he'd send us the digital file soon. -

Rick and his team are amazing, especially Ed our DJ for the ceremony and reception! We are STILL getting compliments about the music at our wedding. Both being musical people, my husband and I had very specific timing cues during the ceremony, specific songs to play during the cocktail hour, songs not to play during the reception and they listened to absolutely everything with minimal conversation. Any song they didn't have in their repertoire they found and he kept the dance floor packed all night long. No cheese, no frills just a ton of fun and are super flexible. -

Rick was wonderful! He asked lots of questions and was very professional so that he knew EXACTLY what we wanted for our wedding reception. He was very reasonable and took personal care of us the entire night! He provided DJ services, and officiated our announcing, cake cutting, garter/bouquet toss, as well as our fabulous uplighting, the cake spotlight, monogram display on the floor, etc, etc, etc. -

We booked Ryan for our DJ. He contacted us about half a month before the ceremony to plan out a timeline. He called us and walked us through what everything meant and what he had seen that worked well in past events he'd done. The day of he provided us with additional lighting that really just tied everything together in the best way possible. He kept the guest entertained and really kept everything moving at a good pace. Would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a DJ. He's very knowledgeable and provided us with a lot of flexibility! -

I have nothing but great things to say about Rick Ryan and his crew. One of the most important aspects of our wedding was the music and getting people out on the dance floor. Rick's team did just that and created a wonderful upbeat atmosphere on the night of the reception. We had quite a few specific requests for songs and timing and Russ (our DJ for the night) did a wonderful job of playing it all out. He was out on the dance floor interacting with guests and keeping the tempo alive the whole night. We also chose to have the photo booth there and it has provided us with many laughs and a great way to look back on funny moments we missed. Myself and my husband both feel we couldn't have made a better choice for the evenings entertainment! -

Our DJ through Rick Ryan (we had Shannon) was fantastic. We gave her a basic idea of what we liked and she did a great job from there. It seemed like she was able to gauge how the crowd was reacting to songs and steered the music in that direction to keep people on the dance floor. We really liked the online wedding planner they have so that you can input your timeline and specific songs, as well as send in requests. Shannon was also helpful in orchestrating the various activities throughout the night and knowing when to call for the next toast, get people to the cake cutting, etc. I found Rick Ryan's pricing to be very reasonable and would definitely recommend. -

Rick was the most wonderful and perfect deejay/emcee/photobooth provider we could have asked for. My now husband and I met with Rick way in advance at the wedding venue and scoped out all details -- including Rick's amazing idea about these LED stands that project light into glass vases filled with clear crystal glass filler. The result was spectacular and everyone was impressed with the uplighting and tiny details that make an event feel high quality and like an upscale party. Rick also took into account all of our requests for start/end timing of first dance songs, father/daughter songs, etc. Rick had the initiative to call us several times in advance to make sure all the expectations and details were clearly communicated for the big day. He also was very prompt about responding back to any questions we had. Rick also provided us a URL that guests could request songs through his online system and we distributed this out a couple of weeks before; this was a big hit and got guests pumped up about the big day and helped build the excitement. The photobooth area was so much fun and had a ton of hilarious props. One last comment was that Rick actually surprised us in a good way when his wife was taking pictures during the reception and the pictures would post on the projector screen in the back with text messages scrolling that guests sent during the reception. Then we actually had two photographers capturing all the great moments of the reception. I would recommend Rick to anyone and everyone who needs a reliable, professional, and generally overall awesome person to meet your emcee/deejay/photographer needs. -

Rick was an absolute pleasure to work with. He not only kept the party alive, but the presentation and lighting he provided was impeccable. It literally changed our venue. He was easy to communicate with, provided excellent advice and direction, sent a personal link to add song requests to and a timeline to plan the reception, and did a great job on the day of. We also used him for uplighting at the venue and for a Photo Booth that added a lot of fun to the reception. He did a live stream so that guests could text messages and pictures to be posted on the ongoing slideshow throughout the event. It couldn't have been better! Thanks Rick Ryan! -

Rick was the DJ at my daughters wedding and also did the uplighting. I was very pleased with both. The online planner made things so easy. I loved the slideshow and texts! I am so glad that I chose Rick Ryan as the DJ for my wedding! He kept the party going for the entire night. My husband and I, along with our guests, were more than pleased with the music selection. Rick was our DJ last Saturday for our wedding. He did such an amazing job, I felt compelled to write this review. I was a typical nervous, worried bride, and he made us feel so comfortable and at peace with the whole process. We went with the Diamond package and he did the lighting, music, slideshow etc. He suggested a great lighting color that looked Amazing in our reception. We had great music the whole night and the pictures and comments that were showing during the reception were sooooooo much fun!!!!! I even called him a couple days before the wedding and decided I would try and create a slideshow for old pictures and he told me to just send him the pictures and he would take care of the rest. The pictures were playing during our first dance/father daughter/son mother dances and were sooo perfect. He was incredibly considerate and accommodating. I couldn't be happier with our choice to go with him! -

We had Rick as our DJ and he was fantastic! Our guests said they loved the live pic & text screen. They also commented on how great the music was and how great the dj was about avoiding 'awkward transitions' through out the night. He kept people on the dance floor and having a great time! We used the lighting and that was perfect too! We had the photobooth as well. We loved it and so did our guests! It's really more of a professional backdrop but it's great because you can fit several people in one photo. They also provided TONS of fun props! I would highly recommend rick Ryan and the whole package. Everything he offers is definitely worth it! -

We booked Rick for our wedding on 5/25/13. He did an absolutely great job! His effects and lighting take an already beautiful ball room and change into something extraordinary. From the up-lighting, to the monogram, the photo booth and MC services, Rick did a great job handling the flow of the night. We were worried about because we didn't have a wedding planner, but once we arrived at the venue Rick took over and showed us exactly where to be and rounded everyone up for the introduction. This really took a lot of stress out of the night and made it easier for us to enjoy the reception. He did a great job on the music, incorporating songs we requested before the event with other songs that keep the dance floor rocking until the small hours of the morning! The layout with the photo-booth next to the dance floor was genius, and provided us and our guest with some really cool memories of the event. Rick and his assistant were helpful and nice, and really made our reception everything we wanted and more. You cannot go wrong with booking Rick for your next event! -

As the bride, I had a lot to worry about, but DJ and lighting services were not one of those worries. Rick and his team did an OUTSTANDING job with the DJ and lighting aspects of my wedding reception. He is organized, fast to respond to emails and calls, open to ideas, and has great ideas and thoughts, himself. Everyone, from 0-92, had the best time at my reception. He gets guests involved, he has an awesome variety of music, and he can feel the direction of the party without needing to ask anyone. He did a STAND-UP job with the intricate lighting! He's superb! I will use his services for years to come. -

Our DJ and Photobooth attendant were absolutely fantastic and worked well with our guests. We were so fortunate to have such professionals at our wedding. They made the reception run smoothly and played all music exactly as we had ask. We would definitely have them for any future events. I cannot say enough good things to express our appreciation for a fabulous Bar Mitzvah party. We told them what we wanted, and they went above and beyond to make it happen. Rick, Russell, the dancers, the photo booth attendant ... all did a great job engaging the kids and adults as well. The lighting was beautiful and the video screens large and colorful. The live pics and texting, great fun! The music and games were tailored perfectly to my son Daniel's requests. He and his friends stayed on the dance floor for almost the entire 4-hour party. Russell and dancers Malik and Shea (hope I've spelled their names correctly) were VERY outgoing and energetic. They really kept the party going! I've heard from so many parents that their kids had a great time ... and wish they had more Jewish friends. :) Within a couple of days, we received a link to view all the photos and got a file listing all the text messages. The photos were great! Love the candid shots. With photos like that, we definitely didn't need a separate photographer to capture the fun of the occasion. I would highly recommend Rick and Russell to anyone who wants help hosting a great party. They make it easy. You'll get more than your money's worth! -

Rob was our DJ -- he did an amazing job!
I was able to talk to Rob days before the wedding to go over/finalize order of events and sound choices - this was also awesome because it gave us a chance to get to know each other better and for him to add personal touches to out reception. Our family and friends loved him!
We received many compliments on his service - he got everyone out of their seats and kept them on the dance floor all night!
The only event planner was really helpful - especially since you can add to it here and there and don't have to do it all at once.
We would recommend them to anyone looking for a DJ/Lighting! -

After contacting several local DJs to get a quote, I finally found Rick! Every other DJ wanted to charge outrageous prices for every little thing. Rick truly does care about his clients and he listens. There are no hidden fees...period. We hired Rick for DJ services and a Photo Booth. This was my parent's 50th Wedding Anniversary so certain genres were very important to me. He really listened and our guests had a fantastic night. Because several of our guests were a little older, he kept the volume at the perfect level. All of the guests LOVED the photo booth and they walked away with their very own photo strip of wonderful memories.
I can't wait to plan another event with Rick!!

We hired Rick Ryan as our DJ after hearing great things about him from a friend. He was amazing. We had a last minute room switch at our venue and we were not at all happy with the new room. It was very drab and everything was just gray. We had been counting on the natural beauty of the original room. Rick made our reception look FLAWLESS with his uplighting. He washed the walls with purple light and had our new last name and wedding date on the back wall behind the head table. It looked fabulous. The pinspotting he used on the cake made it a major focal point of the room. He played music that everyone wanted to hear and the dance floor was constantly full of people. He didn't play anything cheesy at all. All of our guests said that they had a great time. I would definitely recommend him and would use him again if we had another event. Thanks so much, Rick! -

If you are looking for a DJ for your event, Rick Ryan Entertainment is the way to go! I was nervous before our wedding and Rick was more than happy to sit down with my fiancé and I to go over the events for the night. He provided us with helpful feedback, but listened to our ideas and the music we wanted played. He arrived early to set up the day of the wedding and provided us with wonderful music for the ceremony and lots of quality entertainment for the reception! Our favorite was the "shoe game"! He knew how to keep us dancing all night. So if you are looking for a quality DJ, with a variety of music selections and someone that will listen to what YOU want so that you shine on your special day, then Rick Ryan is your guy! -

For our wedding we booked a basic package and added ceremony coverage! When writing this feedback, I am rating the services that I received from Ed and his wife! They are the most fantastic DJ pair! They arrived early to the ceremony and everything was set up and ran exactly on schedule! Throughout the reception, there was not a single moment that the dance floor was not occupied by a large crowd! They did a wonderful job with checking with our planner as well as myself and my husband to make sure everything was going well! We have received more compliments for how much fun the reception was and how great the music was!!!! I have been to other weddings in which they used the same company but had different associates present at their events, and I promise you the others do not do nearly as good of a job! If you choose to book this company, PLEASE request this pair! -

BOOK WITH RICK RYAN!! He did a fabulous job at our wedding!! We can't say a bad thing about our experience! He was readily available to meet with us to book our wedding and was always available to talk if we had any questions or concerns, even including the night before the rehearsal to make some minor changes!!! The music was great and the dance floor was always filled with people of all ages! He kept everything on schedule and also emceed a really fun bride/groom shoe game that I would totally recommend! He was wonderful and so reasonably priced for all that his packages offer! With our package, he did a slideshow with pictures you provide him and he also took some extra photos during our event that were incorporated into our slideshow along with the others and then posts them on a webpage for you to view and use however you please! If you need a DJ, book with Rick Ryan! You will not regret it!! -

We hired Rick to do the music, lighting and a photo booth. The music was great, the lighting looked wonderful and the photo booth was so much fun! Rick also took "action shots" during the reception and had a big screen above the dance floor showing the pictures, which was fun. There was also an address on the screen to text a message to the happy couple and those messages showed as well. That was an unexpected surprise and everyone loved it. -

AMAZING! I was recommended to Rick Ryan from B&B Portraits, and I am so glad I was! You get so much bang for your buck and thats what I love. We used him for a Photo Booth as well, and that was a HUGE hit!!! Our DJ was Russel, and he definately knew how to get the party started! He was so fun and everyone keeps asking me who I used! DJ Rick Ryan MADE our wedding reception! Our guests absolutely loved the texting feature on the big screen. The music makes the party, and DJ Rick had everything that was requested. Rick Ryan was referred to us by our photographers, and once I read all of his stellar reviews I was sold on hiring him as our DJ. Just a week before hiring him I attended a wedding in which the DJ was terrible - lots of moments of silence, him randomly talking to the crowd, and poor direction of events like the cake cutting, bouquet toss, etc. So, I was compelled to find the best, and I think I did! Rick kept the dancing going (which was difficult, as no one in my family dances much), and he kept everything rolling and on schedule. To beat it all, he's a warm, friendly person who knows his stuff! He had virtually no questions for me during the setup, which I appreciated since I was being pulled left and right.
The bottom line is this - hire Rick Ryan if you want a DJ. He was awesome! -

Rick Ryan was the DJ at my wedding on 10/01/11. He absolutely ROCKED the dance floor. My friends and family of all ages stayed on the floor ALL night. I seriously haven't been to a more fun wedding, and I'm so glad it was mine, and that Rick Ryan was the DJ! I couldn't have asked for a more professional, friendly, accommodating, awesome DJ! He went through all of our must play songs, and gladly took requests as we asked for them. He was SO easy to get along with, and you can tell how much he loves being a DJ... he's great at it! The pictures and the text messages were also a blast. Everyone enjoyed seeing their messages on the screen, and we had lots of friends who had a blast with that. Also, the pictures are super fun, and show what a fun time we were having. Rick took every expectation that I had, and by far exceeded it. When my husband and I think back to our wedding, our favorite part was the time that we got to have on the dance floor, celebrating and dancing with our friends and family. We both talk about how we wouldn't change a single thing about our day, especially our reception, and couldn't have picked a better DJ to make the party AWESOME. I really can't say enough about Rick Ryan... just book him!! -

Rick recently did our junior prom. He had several obstacles to work around with the venue being outdoors, but he was very flexible in working with us. I know we have been commenting on facebook, but I wanted to tell you again what a GREAT job you did. The whole night was just awesome. I had sooooo much fun and you did a great job with the announcing and the music. All of the people involved with the ceremony and reception did an excellent job, way above my expectations. You all will be the first people (the only people) that I recomment when I ever hear of anyone needing any of the services. I am so greatful that you recommended the Hermitage and Kara. Because of my schedule and where I live, Rick and I corresponded and planned my wedding reception entirely through e-mail. Even though I never met him or spoke to him in person before the actual wedding day, his services met our high expectations for a long night of fun and great music! Rick played every song that I or my guests requested, including my long list of songs that I had given him beforehand and songs requested by everyone the night-of. This was what my guests and I enjoyed most--hearing every single song that we wanted to hear! The music had EVERYONE up dancing, singing along, singing karaoke, and just having a great time!
I told Rick beforehand that we wanted more of a party atmosphere, not formal, for our wedding reception, and that's exactly what we got. Our reception was outdoors on the bank of the Tennessee River, and the music sounded great from anywhere that we went in the area--even all the way out on the boat patio.
So to sum it up, everyone really enjoyed having Rick DJ at our reception! (That includes guests my age-early 20s- to my grandparents, and every age inbetween!) People were asking how I found him, and many said that it was one of the most fun wedding receptions that they had ever been to! My husband and I had so much fun at the reception, and we would definitely hire Rick for another event! -

Rick was great. He played songs that got the crowd dancing. He is very tech savvy and his screen with the pictures and text messages were a hit. The speakers were at the perfect sound level and very clear. He was very responsive to requests. Rick Ryan made our daughter's reception a hit! Everyone had a great time dancing to the music and karaoke. He did everything we asked and even more. I wasn't sure what to expect but he provided it all including pictures and lighting. I would definitely recommend him to anyone and we will use him again. -

It was a pleasure having Rick as our DJ. He provides the whole package: all the music we could ever want including our special requests; great lighting to set the mood; and all the pictures taken and displayed on the big screen throughout the night made it a an evening to remember! Very professional, arriving on time and setting everything up left no hassles for the Bride and Groom. We couldn’t ask for anything more.

Rick Ryan was great at my wedding! The music was on point during the ceremony and he kept family and friends on the dance floor all night! I had an outside wedding and was worried about sound and lights, but the sound was fantastic and the lighting was perfect. It got alittle chilly at the end of the night and Rick stay professional and kept on going. I will definetly book Rick again for any events where I need a professional and cool DJ again! Rick was great!!! You will not find a better value for the cost. In addition to DJ services, Rick included a photo slideshow, video, text message requests/"shout outs", and floor lighting. He was very easy to work with and played exactly everything we discussed, plus a good variety and everyone's requests. He was very professional, but fun, and kept people on the dancefloor all night! We could not have been happier with our decision to hire Rick and will definately use him again for any future events! -

If I could have given a 6th star I would have! Rick is an amazing guy and truely made my wedding day more special than I even imagined. I cant say thank you enough for doing such a wonderful job! Everything was perfect, very professional!! Everyone loved the lights, music and slide-show pictures. The lights against that stone wall was amazing!!! Though everything about my wedding was wonderful, I got the most compliments on the DJ. Rick was great. He took pictures through the night and had them up on the screen behind him. Also, he took requests and offered karaoke. AND he had an option where guests could text a message to me and my husband that would appear on screen. I stayed on the dance floor all night. It was SO much fun :) -

When my mother who lives in Belgium first started to look at Mr. Ryan online she was very impressed and without any hesitation booked him. When it came time for my wedding it was such a great surprise at all that he brought to the reception and wedding. I would reccomend using him because the money that you spend is worth it.
