  Don't listen to the negative reviews- This team is the BEST!!

  Please don't listen to any negative reviews about Danielle and team at Russell's Photography studio. We had Danielle shoot our wedding on 09-01-2023 and it was PERFECT. Danielle was fast, funny, energetic, and really knew what she was doing. Even with 3 year old's in our wedding (we all know kids have short attention spans), so for her to be able to capture what she could as best as she could made me happy. I'm glad to have some rather than none with everyone. I literally look at my photos everyday and everyday i am amazed at the work the team did. They are also really quick to getting your edits back- in addition to that- if there is anything you want edited out etc. Danielle is a text, email, phone call away and she will gladly edit the photos. My mom decided to put a Band-Aid with a lucky penny in my shoe and I asked her to blend that out and she did- now you can't even tell. HIGHLY recommend this amazing team. You will NOT be disappointed.

  Amazing Experience

  Russell's Photography was so amazing and more than I could ever ask to photograph my wedding day. They did more than just take photos. They directed us to get the most amazing photos ever, helped bustle my dress, got photos of every single special person in our lives, and were so organized. The photos were sent to us after a few days and they were amazing. I highly recommend.

  Absolutely recommend amazing photographers!!!

  I have worked with Danielle with my family photos since my kids were born!! She is so efficient, professional, friendly, and personable!!! The photo shoots are quick and easy and produce the most amazing and perfect photos!! She is very knowledgeable about taking photos in just the right lighting and placement!! I’d highly recommend to everyone!!! Very reasonably priced as well!! Can’t go wrong with Russel Photography!!!

  Excellent!

  We loved Lisa who worked with us! She asked us ahead of time exactly what we were looking for, brought her list to ensure all couples were included in formals and photos and I had a couple additional requests for my aunts to be in special photos and she pulled me aside to ensure that happened. Come the end of the night Lisa asked if we wanted some formals outside as the sun was going down which we didn't and she was totally OK with it! Some photographers can get pushy knowing they have a job to do but Lisa worked with us and worked exactly the way we requested.. We'd recommend her and her team in a heartbeat. She included our pup as well and I've included a beautiful shot of him :)

  I can't say enough how much I loved working with Russell's Photography, and our photographer Melissa! They worked with us to give us the photos we wanted at a price that fit within our budget, and the end result was absolutely amazing. Melissa was so comforting to work with, too, and went over everything with us ahead of time. We were very impressed!

  Not recommended

  We got married 9/10/21, I never really had time to look at all the pictures. As I am sitting here looking at the pictures, only 1 picture was edited. They took pictures of people talking and walking. They look horrible! My husband passed away and these are the only pics I have of him, with his leg in the air walking. My back fat is hanging over my dress in a bunch of shots (like you couldn’t tell my maid of honor to fix that?) we had 25 people in our wedding party, there were 2 ladies there, some people were looking at one lady and the others were looking at the second lady. It doesn’t look nice at all. I paid over $3000 for a bunch of crappy pictures. Then my sister in law paid an additional $250 for extra time. Out of 1000 pictures, I only like MAYBE 20 pictures. I would not recommend Russells Photography at all, definitely not worth the money. I am not a photographer and I have been to enough weddings and in a few weddings, to know that.. the photographer should have people pause to snap the shot. Or while taking the family shots, to make sure the 9 yr old doesn’t have his mouth wide open.. while everyone else is smiling. Considering there were 2 photographers there, my pictures shouldn’t look like this. Not to mention, for that amount of $, you don’t even get any pics, you only get a flash drive of all the poses. So now I paid for a flash drive and now I have to pay for the actual pictures to be printed.

  My wedding day was a living nightmare!

  We hired Russell’s photography for our wedding. I wish I had never heard of them! They knew how to pitch their services to potential clients. Hence on our wedding day the living nightmare began. I cried in utter disappointment with the first look at our wedding photos. When I voiced how unhappy we were to the owner Danielle she told me “You are not meant to like them all” in reference to our wedding photos. I would think couples are meant to LOVE all their wedding photos. We had several “big moments” not photographed by our photographer. Guest photos show the photographer standing in front of these moments without a camera in hand. It is my understanding from an email with Danielle that they normally outsource their editing but in my case they tried to do them themselves. This only made them worse. It is mind boggling to me that they don’t have more negative reviews online. At one point Danielle tried to get me to sign an agreement that would not allow me, my family or my friends to write a review. I found some reviews on other sites (like yelp) that sounded much more accurate to the terrible experience we had with them. We hated our photos so much that we did a re-shoot with another company. According to the Connecticut Secretary of State Danielle is listed as a part owner of Birchwoods. I personally find the fact that Danielle does not disclose this but is listed as a preferred vendor very unethical. I have some tips for future brides, so you may have better experiences than we did. When choosing a photographer for your special day make sure your requested shots list is emailed so there is a paper trail. Ask someone who has your best interest at heart to hold a copy the list the day of to be sure you are getting what you asked for. Also if there are multiple photographers for a company you are looking to book because you like samples of their work. Be sure to find out who shot the photos you liked and reserve/ confirm that photographer.
