I cannot speak more highly of this beautiful venue that I've been referring to as a "hidden gem." Seriously...the website photos do not begin to do this wedding venue justice. Robin and her husband, Austin, go above and beyond for their weddings. During my wedding planning, Robin was a text away with my random slew of questions, and Austin didn't let my family lift a finger when it came to the set up. Both the bridal suite and groomsmen cottage had sufficient room for our parties, and the long horned cattle, horses, and goats were a plus for our guests! -

Amazing Venue
This venue helped bring my wedding day vision to life. Great communication by the owners. Comes with some decor to choose from but the views around the property are amazing! Not to mention the long horn cattle! -

Wonderful!
I cannot say enough good things about this venue. We had our wedding this past May and it couldn’t have been more perfect. It is absolutely gorgeous and the owners Robin and Austin are lovely people to work with. Any question we had was quickly answered and any request we had was easily met. Running Mare will always hold a special place in our hearts. Highly recommend having your wedding here you will not regret it! -

If you are looking for a simple rustic place, this is it. The natural scenery is gorgeous and you will not need excessive décor to fill areas. It is spacious for people to walk around and farm animals to keep people entertained during cocktail hour.
The owners are easy to work with and were eager to help in any way they could.
Hotels are 20-25 minutes away in Short Pump and you can reserve a Lyft for rides to and from the venue.
After our wedding, we received high compliments from all guests about the venue and how smooth the entire wedding was.
Cannot recommend this venue enough. -

My husband and I could not have asked for a more perfect wedding venue. The grounds were immaculate, Robin and Austin were incredible hosts & always available to answer questions and assist, and our guests commented over and over after the wedding how beautiful it all was. Running Mare was the perfect place for our blended family of 10 to begin our lives together. -

Perfect Venue!
The Running Mare was the perfect venue for us! The venue and bridal suite are beautiful and it was just what we wanted for our big day. Robin and Austin are wonderful owners and they always answered any questions I had very quickly. They were also present on wedding day and helped with set up, clean up, and anything else we needed. A bonus was that it was very affordable. Highly recommend!! -

Running mate wedding
We had our wedding here in October of 2021 and it was absolutely stunning! Robin and Austin are wonderful hosts and made us feel right at home. They were also SO helpful and had so many decorations/tables/chairs already at the venue which was a huge help to us. We couldn’t have picked a more perfect spot to host our wedding; everyone loved it! -

Perfect Wedding Venue
This venue was a dream come true! The owners are incredibly accommodating and the property is GORGEOUS! Our wedding turned out perfect and we have Running Mare to thank for that. They really went above and beyond to take care of us. -

Wedding Day of our Dreams!
We had the wedding day we dreamed of at Running Mare! The Casparis were always so willing to work with us to give us our dream day. They were flexible, generous, and great communicators for us. Not to mention, the venue is absolutely breathtaking! Every part of their venue is beautiful...from the tables, to the chairs, to the pond, to the barns. It was exactly how we envisioned! Robin has a whole supply of table decor that she lends out to her brides—so kind and a money saver too! We are from the Shenandoah Valley and thought that it captured the hills, fields, and waters that we cherish so much. It reminded us of home! We love Running Mare and could not recommend it more. -

Robin and Austin were great to work with. Robin was responsive to all my emails in a timely manner for any questions or concerns I may have had. We knew this was the place even when it was cold and rainy In January. Austin was so welcoming and showed us before we booked the venue. On the wedding day they were present, but not overbearing in any way. They checked in on us the day before while we set up. Beautiful setting of the lake along with two options of arches for the ceremony site. There’s also a backup ceremony site if need. Spacious place for the bridal party to get ready and a separate place for the groomsman to get ready as well. The value we got for this venue was wonderful. Do not sit on this venue if you’re considering it for you wedding! We only had 75 people but it can fit more than that. -

A hidden gem
Running Mare was the most perfect venue for our day. The water on the property is what drew us here specifically, but the pavilion for the reception was beautiful and had enough space for our wedding. Robin and Austin were beyond helpful. They were really open to our ideas, they were around to help with set up. They really cared about making our day run smoothly. They really took care of us and our evenr the whole time we had the venue booked for. We couldn't have asked for a better experience than at Running Mare. -

They treat you like family and make you feel so at ease during all the planning. No amount of pictures will ever do justice to how beautiful this place is. I am so so so glad we found this place! Our wedding was beyond wonderful! We’re definitely going to miss being out there. If you choose this place you will have the wedding of your dreams!

Truly wonderful
Our wedding at the running mare was perfect! The guests enjoyed the lake view and were entertained with the horses! The vendors recommended were all amazing and the pictures turned out amazing! Overall we just loved it. Our wedding was back in 2021 so I am sure a lot has changed and the place has probably been made even better but I wish I could go back in time and do it all over again! -
