I cannot explain how much I appreciate the Royal Sonesta and Jenny Rizzolo for making our wedding truly magnificent. It was everything I dreamed of and was so incredibly beautiful! Jenny was absolutely amazing. Anything we needed she was right there! She made sure everything was covered and so much was included in our package that other hotels charge you for! She worked with us to get everything we wanted at the venue. She is the absolute best! 10 out of 10 would highly recommend!

My husband and I were down between this hotel and another in the Baltimore area and we are ultimately so glad we chose the Sonesta, and specifically their coordinator Jay. Everything was so organized and efficient from start to finish, and all our needs were not only met but anticipated in advance. We just had our event and it went perfectly, wouldn't have changed a thing!

We absolutely loved the Royal Sonesta. Jay is the best to work with -- we immediately were confident in his skills and experience from our first meeting with him. Every single hotel staff person we encountered through planning and throughout the entire wedding weekend was incredibly friendly and accommodating to anything we or our guests needed. Certain parts of the hotel (ie. bathrooms in rooms) are dated, however everything that really matters that you see (hotel lobby, other parts of the rooms, ballrooms, etc.) are beautiful. The view of the inner harbor is great from the ballroom, even better from the guest rooms on higher floors, and our guests enjoyed the time there. Jay will offer as much or as little advice as you want, and we were very pleased with all of his recommendations.

We had an amazing experience hosting our reception at the Royal Sonesta. It was elegant and classy with a Baltimore feel. Above all, Jay Day, made the experience so wonderful. He was extremely detail oriented, organized, and made our wedding day flow flawlessly. In addition to Jay, the staff at the Royal Sonesta were friendly and very accommodating to our guests. We are so happy that we chose the Royal Sonesta!

We had our wedding reception at Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore on December 1, 2018. It was the most perfect venue for us. Jay Day, the hotel coordinator, assisted us with planning majority of the details for our wedding day. Jay worked diligently to make sure we were happy with every little detail of our day. Jay was professional and kind through our wedding planning process--we asked a ton of questions and he was happy to respond quickly and address all of our concerns. It allowed my mind to be at ease with the wedding planning process. The staff at the hotel were fantastic-everyone was kind and friendly through our wedding events. The hotel itself has a small and intimate feel to it which we loved. We had 140 guests at our wedding, half were visiting from out of town. Many guests planned long weekends to see Baltimore so the hotel's proximity to the Inner Harbor / downtown area was great. We highly highly recommend the Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore for a wedding--we had an unforgettable and wonderful experience.

Planning a wedding from out of town, where 50% of the guests were also out of towners can be a challenge, but Jay Day and the Royal Sonesta made our wedding day a magical day we’ll never forget! From the moment we met Jay, he put our minds at ease and helped us take care of all the details. He thought of things we hadn’t and made recommendations that were great. I put my trust in him and his staff and I’m so glad we did. From the beginning conversations about budget, and food to our large band and confetti cannons the Royal Sonesta Harbor Court made it all possible. I would highly recommend to any other bride and groom looking for a beautiful location with a great staff. Remember to request a high floor for the Bridal Suite!

" wow - your venue was so classy and elegant, and the food was amazing!" - this is what I heard time and time again after hosting my wedding at the Royal Sonesta. Jay Day is incredible, he will answer your questions,guide you to making good decisions and will actually care about making your day a success. Jay and his entire staff were kind, professional and really made my day go smoothly. Jay will work with you if there is something you want to add, delete or change - he is fair and you never feel like you're being taken advantage of. The hotel rooms are stunning, the ballrooms are incredible,the entire hotel is so clean and impressive! The one thing that I really fell in love with, their ballroom actually has windows that show the harbor! we loved that our guests could have that view while eating their meals. Do yourself a favor and check out this venue!!

Our wedding at the Sonesta was lovely! Jay made the wedding and everything leading up to a breeze. He was very insightful (also a very funny guy!) and gave us guidance as to what to expect and how our special day would be handled. The staff was great on the day of and was very accommodating and took care of my wife and I and made sure we were happy and had plenty to drink in hand. The facilities are beautiful and the food was fantastic. All of our guests had a blast and even though it was our own it has been the best wedding we've ever experienced.

I just had my wedding at the Royal Sonesta this last weekend (3/10/18) and it was by far, the most amazing day of my life. The entire planning process, rehearsal, and night of went off without a hitch and I could not have asked for better people to work with. Our coordinator, Jay Day, made everything so incredibly easy and always had an answer to our questions. He was fun and hilarious and any time I started to feel the stress, he took it all away! I would highly recommend ceremony/cocktail/reception/wedding night or all of the above at the Royal Sonesta. From the beauty, to the service, to the kind and fun wait staff, I can say with 100% confidence that I have zero complaints. We already have friends getting married in the area next year that attended the wedding and are now planning on using the Sonesta as the hotel for their guests to stay night of, we will definitely be back.

My husband and I couldn't have picked a better place to have our wedding. Baltimore wasn't our original choice for our wedding but a Fall wedding in the Inner Harbor wound up being perfect and the Sonesta was a fantastic venue. We used the rooftop for our wedding and it was gorgeous. Our guests loved the experience and the chefs here took our quirky Southern Barbeque/New York Deli idea and made a meal that our families our still talking about.

Jay Day was our point of contact throughout the wedding for the hotel and both my husband and considered his vast amount of experience to be an essential reason why our wedding unfolded as perfectly as it did.

If you're an engaged couple in Washington DC and worried about the prohibitive price of venues there (like we were) then I'd strongly recommend the Sonesta. We were able to have a fantastic wedding for much cheaper than it would have been in the District and it was so easy for people to make their way up to Baltimore.

Having our wedding at the Royal Sonesta was an amazing experience from start to finish. As soon as we toured the venue and met Jay Day, the coordinator, we knew the Royal Sonesta was for us. The location and the venue itself cannot be beat. The views are incredible and the hotel is beautiful and elegant on the inside. The food was delicious (we got so many compliments from our guests) and the service was the best I have ever experienced. Many thanks to Jay who was so helpful throughout the entire process. Believe what you read about him in the reviews - he is absolutely fantastic! He is extremely knowledgeable, will answer all of your questions promptly and gives great suggestions. On the day of the wedding (and in the days leading up to it) everything went smoothly. Jay coordinated with all of our vendors, directed the rehearsal and kept us on schedule during the ceremony and reception. It was such a relief not to have to worry about any of the logistics and to just relax and enjoy the day! If you are considering this venue, go check it out. You won't regret it!

The only word to describe The Royal Sonesta Harbor Court is PERFECTION. The views, the service, the food and the accommodations were impeccable. The minute we walked into the hotel on the day of our initial visit to the day after the wedding, every detail was flawless. The Royal Sonesta staff, particularly the Director of Catering, Jeremy Day, made the whole process enjoyable and stress-free. He was very responsive to all my questions, he made recommendations that helped me make my decisions easier and his experience in event planning contributed to my relaxed state the day of the wedding. He ensured all the vendors (DJ, Florist, Photographers, Videographer, etc.) were all on the same page and I didn't have to worry about anything other than to enjoy myself. Our guests couldn't stop raving about the quality of the food, wine and services. The beautiful views were the icing on the cake of a night we truly will never forget, thanks to the Royal Sonesta, especially Mr. Day.

We had a great experience with Royal Sonesta Harbor Court and our coordinator, Jay Day. Jay was not only a great coordinator but we feel like he was considered a magician, making everything seem like it was possible. Even when there was an incident that occurred that was not the fault of the venue or Jay, he felt bad about it; which showed that he genuinely cared about our wedding and the experience from it. I can see why Jay has been awarded multiple times and we would like to again nominate him to be awarded again! This is our first time getting married and we already know that we could not have found another coordinator like him if we got married a 100 times. All the servers were all very polite and were accommodating! The venue did not have to say that their goal was customer service because we could already see it through the service and the kindness they had toward us and our guests. We had made our already married friends envious of the venue and Jay, that they did not have their wedding like ours. So thank you to Royal Sonesta Harbor Court and to Jay for making our day super special!!!

Absolutely loved working with Jay Day, Catering Director and the entire staff at the Royal Sonesta Harbor Court. Jay is very personable and great at his job! He gave his honest opinions and helped us to create the most beautiful and elegant wedding. The food is incredible and the sleeping rooms and well appointed. My husband and I could not have been happier!

We live in New Jersey and had to plan our daughter's wedding in Baltimore long distance. I am not sure if we could have made it to the wedding day without the help of Jay Day and the wonderful staff at the Royal Sonesta. I cannot even begin to describe how wonderful the venue is and the amazing services that were provided to us beginning with our check-in on Friday. The staff at the Royal Sonesta is exceptional. From the front desk check in person all the way to the people that provided housekeeping, the staff was amazing. Jay Day spent most of Friday evening and all of Saturday by our side making sure that everything was running smoothly. As it got closer to the time of the ceremony he updated us and made sure that we all were ready. Our guests loved the outdoor (on the roof) ceremony and cocktail hour. Being from NJ they found the view breathtaking. They loved the food and the venue. My husband and I received many compliments from friends and family about the food and the service throughout the day. Since we were from out of town Jay recommended bakeries, florists, DJ's and photographers that his venue had worked with in the past. We were not disappointed by any of his recommendations. For anyone planning a wedding, we understand the pressure and anxiety that goes with wanting the perfect day. I can promise you if you use the Royal Sonesta and work with Jay Day you will not be disappointed. Our out of town guests loved the beautiful brunch that we had the next morning also at the Royal Sonesta. The food was delicious! Jeffrey was so accommodatin, making sure that all of the guests were well taken care of. We took pics in the Inner Harbor and also we all took in a ball game at Camden Yards on Sunday to end the wedding celebration. There are no words big enough to thank Jay and his staff. If I could give them 100 STARS I would! The aesthetic details of this venue will automatically set it apart from its competitors. Thank you all!!!

We cannot put into words the amazing experience we had by holding our wedding at the Royal Sonesta Harbor Court. Starting the planning process about 18 months before our selected wedding date, we knew we had time to find a place. However, when we first stepped foot into the Royal Sonesta and was greeted by their coordinator, Jay Day, we knew this was the place for us. Throughout the whole planning process, Jay was there every step of the way. Everyone, Jay is FANTASTIC!! He brings so much knowledge and direction during the process. We had many questions since we had months to plan and he answered them all so quickly. The wedding day could not have gone more perfect! Jay and his entire staff were there every step of the way to make sure we had everything we needed. While we are sad to see if over and sad to not be working with Jay anymore, we want everyone to check out this venue. You will not regret it and we hope it is love at first sight for you as well!

We recently held our wedding here at Royal Sonesta Harbor Court and let me be the first to say it was AMAZING !! From the moment we walked in for a tour and was greeted by Jay Day we knew that this was the venue for us ! Jay Day is by far one of the most knowledgeable , professional , down to earth people I've ever met ! From our first meeting up until our wedding he was always very helpful , responsive and just overall great. I can't even put it into words ! Everything will go smooth if Jay Day is handling your event ! Fast forward to my wedding day ... I didn't have to worry about a thing ! It was honestly so nice to be able to enjoy our moment and not have to worry about all the details. Jay Day and all of the staff are top notch ! Everyone was very friendly and extremely helpful during our event and I really appreciated it ! The food was amazing , the venue itself is amazing , the staff is amazing and the rooms are beautiful and very clean ! Everything was perfect and I am forever grateful my wedding was held here ! Jay Day was our wedding coordinator at the Royal Sonesta, and he did an amazing job. He took everything I had envisioned for our wedding and made it a reality. He was so easy to work with, and was always willing to answer my many questions (and the ten million my mom asked on top of that!). We were lucky enough to have our cocktail hour on the rooftop deck, where the staff passed out our signature cocktails, without people even needing to go to the bar. The food was also excellent, from the passed hors d'oueuvres to dinner. Definitely the perfect wedding on all fronts thanks to Jay and the Royal Sonesta!

When I first looked at Harbor Court for my wedding I knew I loved the venue. Then I met Jay. I read the reviews and everyone raved about him and I soon found out why. Working with Jay over 14 months to plan a wedding was such fun. He is brutally honest (in the best way possible and let's face it, sometimes we need that) and tells you exactly what you need to know to make your wedding perfect. Nothing went unnoticed by Jay and his team and the day was absolutely spectacular. Leading up to the wedding, Jay reached out to all of the vendors to coordinate everything so I didn't have to and on the day of, everything ran smoothly. The food at the Harbor Court is also amazing. They will make anything you can imagine - our Baltimore surf and turf of crab cakes and steak was outstanding and the homemade burratta was equally delicious. If you're looking for a beautiful venue on the water in Baltimore, look no further. The royal sonesta Harbor Court is everything you want and need! Five stars! That's what Jay Day and the staff at the Royal Sonesta earned for our wedding it catered on May 28, 2017. But can it be that all those five star reviews are real? Yes, it really can! From the moment we met Jay and began planning the event, it was the most pleasurable and easy experience we could have imagined. Jay is professional, knowledgeable, and responsive. The staff for the catering and the hotel are as pleasant and helpful as can be. Everything was simply perfect leading up to and through the day of the wedding.

Reservations for out-of-town guests? Perfect. Planning the menu? Easy. The tasting? A real treat. Getting answers to our questions? Prompt, accurate, and helpful. Recommendations for other vendors? Yep. Working with those vendors? Everybody loves Jay! Keeping things in order on the big day? Check. Running the rehearsal? No problem. Jay has the patience of a saint. Good food? Yes, absolutely delicious. Good service at the reception? First class. Returning all personal items after the wedding? Everything was neatly packed and returned. Have special needs for your religion or rituals? No problem, Jay has probably planned it before. Parking? Valet. Flexible in giving you want you want? "If it's legal," Jay says, "I can do it!" Use their menus? That's why they're there. Create your own menu? No problem, just tell them what you want. Passed hors d'oeuvres, stations, sushi chefs, kosher, meat, fish, vegetarian, pasta, bar service, premium alcohol, whatever you want - no problem! Use their audio/visual equipment? It's available. Use your own? Sure. Have etiquette questions? Jay can answer them, in the nicest way - "It's your wedding and your can do whatever you want, but usually . . ."

There are not enough nice words I can say about this venue and the event coordinator. From our initial decision to host our wedding here through the wedding day, the process was easy and stress-free. As a bride, you are treated as special at every visit to the hotel. The entire staff was exceptionally accommodating and you feel you and your event are in great hands. The actual day of my wedding was completely enjoyable to me while every minute detail was executed perfectly by this venue. Additionally, the venue is beyond beautiful!

Out of this world! Amazing! Unbelievable! One of the best weddings we've ever been to! These are just a few of the comments we received from our guests during and after our wedding. I have to admit that I'm a bit late in writing this review; my wife and I are coming up on our one year anniversary soon. However, I would be remiss if I didn't share our experience in hopes that I help at least one couple choose a venue that will absolutely blow their mind in every way imaginable. Jay Day graciously and effectively assisted us in planning all aspects of our wedding. He left nothing to doubt and he made sure that we were 110% happy with every selection. Jay set up contingency plans in the event of bad weather. Jay recommended several third party vendors whom we chose several (and they were great!). Most importantly, Jay made sure that the day of the wedding went so smoothly I felt like I was in a dream. It was truly remarkable. The entire staff catered to my wife and myself as if we were royalty. They treated all of the guests as if they were family. The staff were so professional and friendly at the same time. Everything went off like clockwork. It was seamless. The food was world-class. Everything was prepared perfectly, without one complaint. The accommodations were as classy as they come. We were so impressed that my wife and I added an additional night. I'm sure there's more that I can say about how great the entire experience was, but the bottom line is that if you're reading this, you owe it to yourself to check this venue out. Ask for Jay Day and be prepared for a first-class experience with a first-class staff and first-class options/accommodations.

We could not have imagined a better experience! Our wedding day was perfect, and the preparations leading up to it were so easy, thanks to Jay.

We had a small wedding (approx 35 people), and we wanted an appropriate-sized venue that was close to the water. Jay patiently showed us around the property and answered many follow-up questions, while we looked for venues. At the end of the day, there was really no comparison. The Royal Sonesta offered the best location at a reasonable price.

Jay was extremely flexible and patient - even when we were indecisive or had no idea what we were doing. He was extremely responsive and pleasant throughout the whole process and very open to our ideas and preferences.

On the day of, things went exceptionally smoothly, and we were able to relax and enjoy our day without any worry. The the wait staff was very helpful, accommodating and courteous. All of the food was phenomenal!

Finally, the hotel itself is beautiful. We loved having the option of having our ceremony and cocktail hour on the rooftop garden. Our reception was in the Brightons Room - which was perfect for our smaller wedding. The bridal suite has a fantastic view of the Inner Harbor. We were very sad to check out.

All in all, we could not have chosen a better venue. Our guests raved about how beautiful the venue was! We will recommend the Royal Sonesta Baltimore and hope to return for other events!

We had our daughter's wedding at the Royal Sonesta this weekend and can't say enough about the professionalism of the staff -- from the valet to the desk staff and servers, everyone was polite and responsive. Our highest compliments are reserved for Jay Day who worked with us covering every conceivable detail, attentively listening to our ideas and politely and professionally offering alternate suggestion to achieve the desired result. He was a consistent presence throughout the day assuring that each of those agree-upon details was properly executed. The result was a perfect wedding ceremony and reception for our family and guests. We couldn't be happier with the result.

If you want a beautiful venue, great service, exceptional food and a great location, the Royal Sonesta is for you. It was a pleasure working with Jay Day and everyone else at the hotel. We had my daughter's wedding as well as the rehearsal dinner there and we couldn't have been more pleased.

This review is way over due -- can't even put into words how AMAZING the Royal Sonesta is as a wedding venue. This isn't even enough space to write it all out! Jay is absolutely amazing. Every bride needs a Jay and here you will get him! He is SO accommodating to any requests and needs, and SOOO quick to respond. I must have emailed him a million times and although he had other events and weddings way before mine, he made me feel as if I was the only bride he was dealing with. He gave opinions and advice when needed as he knows the room and venue best but still took into consideration all the details I wanted to make the day unique and special to us! Being that my now husband is from mexico he helped us with all the details including coordinating our mariachi band and guacamole bar during cocktail hour and a taco bar at the end of the night. We had a HUGE suite with the renovations that are just gorgeous. We came back to our room with champagne and chocolate covered strawberries at the end of the night to top off our celebration!! Being that my family is from New Jersey we had a great amount of guests spending the weekend at the hotel. All my family were so extremely impressed with the rooms, the views, and the comfort. My uncle said this is the most comfortable he has ever been!!! It was just a spectacular experience with every member there, including the bellman.. all just so friendly and welcoming!

Although, we live a mile away.. we cannot wait to spend another night at the Royal Sonesta soon!!!!

While it may be true that there are MANY hotels in Baltimore, there's really just one that you should use: Royal Sonesta Harbor Court. Here's why:
1. Mr. Jay Day, the hotel's Director of Catering. For us, he was a tremendous resource, a calming influence, and was a good friend throughout the process. He never let us over-think a particular aspect, and was never afraid to tell us exactly what he thought. His honesty was refreshing; as we met with multiple hotels at the start of the planning process, it seemed that many of them told us what they thought we wanted to hear, so we heard the same thing over and over. Jay was up front and honest about everything, and was incredibly flexible with so many of the small details. Our wedding would not have been half of what it was without him.
2. The hotel will only book one wedding per weekend, so you and your guests will never have to worry about a double-booked reception space, caterers, etc. The hotel has 3 different ballrooms, and we were able to utilize all of them for our event, which gave every aspect its own unique feel.
3. The food was INCREDIBLE. I don't know how to start, so I'll have to leave it at that.
4. All of the ballrooms have windows that look onto the Harbor. Go to any other hotel in Baltimore, and if you can find a ballroom with windows, they won't be looking at the Harbor. Nothing is prettier than looking out onto the Harbor at night, and to have that visual as a backdrop for your wedding is amazing.
5. Every one of the hotel's staff are consummate professionals who will go completely out of their way for not only you, but for every one of your guests. We arrived at the hotel with an SUV packed to the brim, and the bell staff had everything out of the car and in our room in 10 minutes. The front desk answered every question we could think to throw at them, and the housekeeping staff were incredibly flexible, as we utilized our suite for the bridal party on the day of the wedding.

We hosted our wedding reception at the Royal Sonesta December 3rd, and couldn’t have been happier with our choice. It’s a gorgeous hotel with a much more intimate feel than some of the other larger Inner Harbor hotels we considered. The second-floor bar won us over with all its character – we could imagine our guests enjoying the cozy European-feel of the Explorer’s lounge.
We were floored with the reception space. Rather than an interior hotel room with a meeting-space feel typical of hotel wedding spaces, the rooms had beautiful windows overlooking the Inner Harbor, marble floors, and chandeliers.

We were especially happy with the way the Royal Sonesta decorated for Christmas. Each window had a beautiful golden wreath, lit up with white lights, and it looked spectacular in photos. We had countless compliments on the food served at our sit-down dinner. The banquet staff did a marvelous job of staying on top of everything and the food itself was truly the best food we’ve ever been served at a wedding, and we were told that throughout the night, and for weeks afterwards as we’d bump into people and talk about the wedding.

Having Jay Day coordinate everything was such a relief- it was wonderful being able to drop things off ahead of time, and not wonder who would help coordinate with the other vendors. Jay went above and beyond on the day-of – even going as far as to have some icing whipped up to cover a spot on the cake that got a bit dented on its way from the bakery. I think the hallmark of a good planner is not having to spend any time worrying about timing (or anything) the day of the wedding, and that was the case at the Sonesta with Jay.

We are so happy with our choice of the Royal Sonesta for our reception, and would highly recommend it.

My husband and I had such a good experience with this venue and the events coordinator, Jay Day. The hotel was just renovated and is beautiful!! The staircase in the lobby is so grand and made for some great pictures. Jay was also so helpful and Knowledgable. He really knows the wedding industry inside and out. Whenever we asked for his advice he never steered us wrong. His attention to detail is unsurpassed. We had a lot of out of town guests and Jay was very accommodating with any booking issues we had. During the wedding he made sure all of our things (champagne flutes, cake knives, card box, gifts, etc.) made it to our suite at the end of the night. We were very impressed with Jay and the Royal Sonesta and definitely recommend it to anyone looking for the perfect venue.

There is no place more elegant for a Baltimore wedding than the Royal Sonesta Harbor Court! Jay Day and his team attended to every detail of our day (and the months leading up to our day!). The flexibility of the hotel spaces (Whitehall, Brightons, Hamptons, etc.), menu options, room decor, and timeline made our wedding a one of a kind event. Jay was extremely responsive to our questions, exceptionally organized, prepared with vendor suggestions, and in tune with our vision. Jay ensured that every detail of our day was discussed and planned at our request and communicated to all of our vendors prior to the event. We chose the Royal Sonesta because of the lasting impression of Jay Day, and it was well worth it!

The menu options at the Royal Sonesta are endless and the service was outstanding. Our wedding guests complemented the unique and delicious dinner (we served cream of crab soup, along with four entree selections). The chef's attention to detail on each plate was exceptional. The wait staff are most certainly a "well oiled machine." Every meal was seamlessly delivered to each guest in a timely manner (and we had 180 guests!).

We are so pleased with our wedding at the Royal Sonesta Harbor Court. The elegant rooms, beautiful Baltimore views, and outstanding service helped to make our day one to remember!

We had our only daughter's wedding at Royal Sonesta this past weekend. We have been working with Jay Day for over a year planning this event. Jay's knowledge of what works and what does not is unparalleled. He thinks of every detail - many of which we would not have come up with at all. It was like getting the best wedding planner and event as a package deal! The venue is fantastic. The nighttime views of the Baltimore Harbor are breathtaking. The set up of a room for cocktail hour and a separate room for the reception worked out very well. The food and service during the reception were spectacular. I had the rockfish dinner which was some of the best rockfish I have ever had. The service was swift and many guests complimented us on their servers as being friendly and helpful.

We had 184 guest in our reception and the rooms were perfectly sized. Having the event in a hotel was also a huge plus. The hotel rooms are first class. Pricing of the hotel rooms in the block was also surprisingly reasonable. Some out of town guests tried to get better deals at other hotels through the discount sights and only saved $20 per night - not worth the walk.

As I said, this was our only daughter and she wanted a dream wedding. Jay and his crew fulfilled this dream.

The Royal Sonesta and Jay were absolutely amazing! We could not have chosen a better location, venue, or team to work with and to host our wedding. The whole day from the suite to the ceremony and cocktail hour on the rooftop terrace to the food and drink and décor during the reception, it was all true perfection. Jay was insanely responsive throughout the entire year and a half of my constant questions, provided guidance and support, and personally made sure the entire day and night went seamlessly. (Even rushing into action to help me out with a spill on my gown!) The entire hotel staff were also fantastic, friendly, helpful, and professional. If I could get married all over again I would do it at the Sonesta and with Jay by my side in a heart beat!

If you want to have a wedding in Baltimore in the summer, and you want it to be indoors, this is the venue for you. We were really impressed with the service from the moment we contacted them about the space to the moment our wedding was over. We would highly recommended this venue to anyone. Afterwards everyone of our guests told us how impressed they were with the hotel and their accommodations.

Royal Sonesta and their wedding coordinator; Jay Day did an amazing job making my wedding day perfect! Royal Sonesta hosts only one wedding (unlike many other hotels), which I especially liked so I didn't have to worry about sharing space with another bride and groom. During the planning process Jay answered all of our questions very quickly and was always available if we wanted to meet with him in person. He provided great advice, while helping us create our dream wedding day. We were given the bridal suite for the night before and the night of the wedding and was actually upgraded to the Presidential Suite! We really wanted to get married on the rooftop garden (which is breathtakingly stunning), but also thought the back-up Hamptons room was pretty. On the day of the wedding, the weather decided to be challenging by raining an hour before the ceremony with possible rain in the forecast. Needless to say, my husband and I were very stressed about trying to decide whether to take a chance on the roof or use the Hamptons room. Jay was so helpful and great about calming us down and handling the situation. He actually had them set up both the Hampton room and the rooftop garden for us and let us wait until 20 minutes before the wedding to finally make the decision! We held cocktail hour in the Brighton's room - it has a gorgeous chandelier that makes the room sparkle. The staff was ready with white wine, red wine and champagne for our guests upon arrival to help alleviate the bar lines. We attended our cocktail hour and the moment we arrived, Jay greeted us to check in and provided us with beverages. The reception occurred in Whitehall Ballroom, Prefunction and Ravenhurst area. We trusted Jay to set up our decorations and centerpieces using his creative skills and they all looked perfect! Thanks to Jay and the staff at Royal Sonesta, my husband and I got to enjoy every second of our special day without a single worry. I cannot recommend this place enough for any bride!

My husband and I had our wedding reception at the Royal Sonesta Harbor Court and I cannot say enough wonderful things about the experience. The location was perfect for our out of town guests, being within walking distance to the Inner Harbor, and the rooms were luxurious, clean and comfortable. Also, the staff was kind and helpful to us and all our guests during the entire stay.

For our wedding reception, the event was fantastic. The ballroom is beautiful with grand windows over looking the Inner Harbor, and the food - from appetizers to entree - was delicious! Our coordinator, Jay Day, was outstanding. From day one, he was timely in all responses, honest, helpful, organized, and a joy to work with. I felt confident throughout the entire planning process knowing that Jay was there making sure the wedding day went as planned.

My wife and I had our wedding ceremony and reception at the Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Hotel early this spring. The hotel and staff went above and beyond throughout the planning process and on the big day to make sure that everything went smoothly and all of our guests had a great time. The combination of professionalism with seemingly personal care and investment was truly more than we expected and helped us have fun planning our event and feel assured that things would go smoothly.

Jeremy Day, the hotel's point person for events, did a great job with supplying advice and expertise as we planned, and was very careful about only making promises as far as the things under his own control. He made some very good recommendations for outside vendors and was very responsive to email and telephone calls. But truly everyone at the hotel was welcoming and very accommodating to us and our guests.

The hotel comped the presidential suite to us for two nights as part of our package, which gave my wife more than ample space to get ready on the premises with her friends and family on the day of and made our wedding night feel very special. Also, the fact the hotel will only host one wedding on a given day was a huge plus in our opinion as it helped the whole event feel personal, and was comforting to know we were the focus of the hotel's staff. Several of our guests also mentioned how much they liked the food!

Jaimie and I were looking for a wedding experience that spoke to the heart of the matter. For us, that meant our focus was on getting married, in a way that celebrated our lives, friends and family, but moreover, kept the focus on love and fun. What I'm saying is, we were focused on getting married, not focused on having the wedding of all weddings. That said, once we decided to get married, we knew 2 things. We weren't going to spend a fortune, and we weren't going to wait through a lengthy engagement. I grew up in Baltimore, and Harbor Court has always been there, as an icon of individuality, class, and of course the City of Baltimore. We made our first visit on Feb 27, 2015 despite a snowstorm threatening to shut the city down, and were planning to be married 4/4/15, just 35 days later! At that time, Royal Sonesta was going through renovations. Needless to say, outside of drywall, dust and ladders, much of our visit was conceptual. We met with Catering Manager Jay Day and immediately felt heard and taken care of. We expressed our somewhat outlandish desires, and Jay told us how he could accommodate us. The renovations were set to be completed just 1 week prior to our wedding date, and we would be the 2nd wedding in the newly renovated venue.
Despite the rapid turn around, we never felt rushed through the process. One aspect of our reception that we didn't want to compromise on, was our food. We're an international family and wanted a venue that could accommodate our desire to include cuisine from Africa, Baltimore & Latin America. Harbor Court exceeded our expectations. The renovations were beautiful and the hotel felt like our own private gem nestled in one of our favorite cities. Jay Day & Restaurant Chef Zeus were wonderful beyond our dreams and all the support staff were courteous and felt like they were celebrating along with us. Harbor Court is still one of the best options in Baltimore, comes at a tremendous value, and offers individuality.

While I am not the bride, my daughter and I worked very close together through the entire planning process. From the moment we walked into Harbor Court January 2015 and met Jay Day I truly hoped that Harbor Court would be our selection. Jay was perfect from start to finish. He was friendly, knowledgeable, timely in returning emails or calls, helpful in suggestions on menu, decor, other vendors and I could go on and on. The hotel was under a major update when we toured the hotel. It was exciting to hear Jay describe what to envision for my daughter's wedding New Year's Eve. We loved the fact that Harbor a Court is a boutique hotel. Understanding that her wedding would be the only event was a huge plus. We used 5 of the banquet rooms throughout the event. While menu concepts were provided, our daughter and son in law knew exactly what they wanted and Jay was quick to accommodate.
The entire staff were personable, friendly and provided excellent customer service from our 1st day as a potential client to the last day as we left the hotel on New Year's Day.
I had to go back in and thank the staff again. They felt like family to me as no matter what the need was for us from December 30th - January 1st they took care of us.
The wedding was absolutely perfect. Our family and friends raved to us how great the staff, food and rooms were. It could not have been better. The Royal Sonesta made our wedding day fabulous. Jay ensured that our vision happened perfectly. He handled hundreds (or more likely thousands) of our specific requests with patience and care. The Sonesta also ensured that my wedding was safe my family’s and my severe food allergies. They showed the premium level of care, customer service, and coordination to make the wedding go smoothly for us and our guests. The Sonesta staff was fabulous in making our everything happen to plan. I would recommend this venue for anyone, especially if you would like excellent customer service and absolute confidence in ensuring a wonderful wedding reception.

The Royal Sonesta was the best possible decision we could have made. We looked at almost every venue in the city, but Jay Day and the Harbor Court Hotel made our wedding surprisingly stress-free and gracefully magical. Jay was beyond kind and flexible in scheduling and assisting with organization details and meal planning. He is truly professional and a joy to spend time with. The staff at the hotel were considerate and extra effort was always given to make our stay and that of our guests special. The décor of the hotel is timeless and my little nephew still refers to it as his aunt’s castle! I love the chandeliers and the marble flooring, and we were able to stay in the most beautiful wedding suite I have ever seen- inclusive in our package. If we had to do it all again, I would choose Jay Day and his staff over and over again. Highly recommend!

There are not enough words to express how grateful we are to have selected the Royal Sonesta as our wedding venue. We will start with Jay who was a perfect guide throughout the entire planning process. Jay is willing to go above and beyond for his clients both in planning and on your wedding day. We owe so much of our positive experience to his insight, recommendations, and opinions.
The venue/hotel is gorgeous and recently renovated. The venue only allows for one wedding a day, so you essentially have the entire place at your disposal on your wedding day. We were married in December so our entire event was held indoors (although we can tell the rooftop garden would also be a perfect location as well). The second floor overlooks the Inner Harbor and contains three separate rooms that we were able to incorporate into our wedding day; one for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. Each room is spectacular and the ability to guide your guests through each unique space adds to the allure of your special day. (I wanted a holiday wedding and the hotel was so beautifully and tastefully decorated for the holidays that it made everything look magical). The hotel rooms and, specifically, the bridal suite were amazing. I especially recommend the harbor view rooms. Our guests raved about the hotel and although we live less than half of a mile away, we will definitely be back to stay in the suite on our anniversary.
Next, I cannot stress enough how every single member of the Royal Sonesta staff treated us and all of our guests as though we were royalty. The concierge staff, servers, bartenders, chefs/caterers, and especially valets are truly some of the nicest and most genuine people I’ve ever met.
I almost forgot the food which was by far the best wedding meal I’ve ever had. The menu may change, but just trust me on this one and believe that anything you get will be great.

I highly recommend the Royal Sonesta for any event or wedding reception. The service we received from the staff and specifically event planner Jay Day was outstanding. From first contact all the way through our event Jay made me, my parents, and my now husband feel comfortable and supported throughout. Jay fielded many emails and phone calls from me promptly and professionally. Each time I felt like I missed something, Jay already had it under control. The venue itself is absolutely gorgeous. The exclusive use of the ballrooms made me extremely happy to know that we wouldn't have to compete with another event. We were able to use the beautiful marble floor Brighten Room for our cocktail hour and the expansive and impressive White Oak Ballroom for our reception. The food was absolutely amazing, I had so many guests tell me that this was the best meal that they had in a long time. From the appetizers through the amazing pork entree (that was the biggest hit at our event) everything was great. Jay handled event set up and I didn't have to worry about a thing. If you are looking for a beautiful venue with exceptional service and planning the Royal Sonesta is the place to go. I would recommend the Sonesta to brides and others planning events.

Words cannot express how happy my husband and I were with our wedding at Royal Sonesta two weekends ago. Nearly all our guests were from out of state, with many traveling from overseas, so we had a large block of rooms for an extended period. Between greeting guests, the rehearsal, the actual wedding, and the day after brunch, the hotel felt like our home away from home for nearly a week, and we were treated like royalty for the entire period, as were our guests. The valets and catering staff especially were phenomenal - so friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The actual wedding was everything we hoped for and more thanks to Jay, the director of catering. From the beginning, Jay was fantastic to work with. He is so friendly, organized, accommodating, extremely responsive, and makes great recommendations for all types of vendors. We looked at a total of 5 area hotels for wedding venues, and he is one of the reasons we chose Sonesta. He thinks of every detail and delivered on the vision I had for the day. I am a very detailed planner and expected to be super anxious leading up to the big event, but having Jay coordinating everything left me completely at ease. I can honestly say I took the time to enjoy the entire weekend and did not worry about vendors or timelines. Speaking of which, Jay coordinates day of timelines/setup/take down with all vendors which was a very pleasant and helpful surprise. Furthermore, the hotel itself is beautiful and elegant, with a lovely & convenient harbor location. The fact that there were different spaces for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception was a huge selling point for us, as was the fact that the hotel only hosts one wedding a day. The food is fantastic - crab cakes at cocktail hour were of course a hit, as was the sirloin at dinner! As you can tell, my husband and I highly recommend the Sonesta for your wedding - you'd be crazy to be disappointed!! Thank you Jay for making our big day so perfect!

From the second we walked into the Royal Sonesta to look at the venue back in January, I wanted to get married there. Then we met Jay Day and I REALLY wanted to get married there. From day 1, Jay was helpful, honest and full of amazing advice. The renovations were still being completed when we signed the contract but we were confident that the renovations would be beautiful and perfect for what we wanted for our wedding venue.

Needless to say, everything turned out better than I could have imagined. We got married on November 7th and the set up was exactly what we had decided on and it was amazing having Jay as our go-to person. What I loved most is that Jay was able to coordinate all of our vendors for the day of. This took off so much potential stress that we would have dealt with due to not having a true "wedding planner". I couldn't be more appreciative of Jay for doing this.

All of our guests seemed pleased with the rooms that they stayed in and the set up of the hotel. We are grateful for Jay and the Royal Sonesta staff for making our wedding the best day of our lives.

My husband and I got married at the Royal Sonesta on 10/24/15 and it was absolutely wonderful! The hotel was renovated in terms of the décor earlier in 2015 and the outcome is outstanding. The ballroom is extremely neutral now and the rooms are modern. We had a lot of out-of-town guests and the location was perfect for them to experience the sights of Baltimore. When it came to planning the wedding, Jay Day was the best. He made the entire process very seamless and stress-free. The hotel staff, especially the banquet and serving staff, was also excellent. I cannot say enough about the food during the event and the chefs either. Everyone working there was professional and helped made our wedding day amazing. Thank you Royal Sonesta and especially Jay!

We just had our ceremony and reception at the Royal Sonesta Harbor Court on 10/10/15 and it was as perfect as any wedding could ever be. When looking for a venue, I knew that I wanted a place that would be easy to get to for all of the out of town guests as well as unique enough so that it didn't feel like a wedding factory. I have been to hotel wedding before but let me tell you, this is not a typical "hotel wedding" experience. What I loved about this venue besides the shear beauty of it is that they only hold one wedding a night and I had no chance of running into another bride and bridal party because who wants to see that?!

The other thing that really drew me to this venue was Jay Day who is "the man" he is technically "the director of catering" but really he is like having a wedding planner, adviser, organizer, coordinator, etc etc all rolled into one. I was planning this wedding remotely (living in NYC) and Jay was full of very useful advice from vendors (everyone loves him), to how many uplights I needed, to rehearsal dinner recommendations. Basically anything you need, he can help you figure out. He sent out a schedule and a detailed timeline to all of my vendors ahead of time so I didn't have to worry about a thing. I actually had a vendor tell me that no one else does this in the industry. I'm a very organized person and I knew that I could trust him to get everything right. In addition to the timeline, I had an actual floor plan for every ballroom that was used (a total of 3 + a room for a private bridal party cocktail hour - many venues have to a swap so you never see it ahead of time).

What else can I say? The food was great, the menu is very flexible. The alcohol selection was very flexible too; as brand-conscious consumers this was very important to us. Planning the whole thing seemed a little too easy. The brunch the day after went smoothly as well. Overall, if you want a stress-free wedding with beautiful views, do it here!

We chose the venue for both wedding ceremony and reception in September 2015 and cannot think of better venue that is elegant and conveniently located in the Inner Harbor. The catering manager, Jay was outstandingly pleasant to work with and he made sure that our planning and event are painless and seamless from start to finish. His humor, perfection and professionalism make Royal Sonesta Harbor Court a top wedding venue in the area. Also, we were impressed by skill and care exhibited by the hotel staff. We got married at the Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Hotel last weekend and would recommend this venue a million times over. The hotel is beautiful - it was recently redecorated, and both the guest rooms and the ballrooms are all stunning. The harbor-view guest rooms especially have a fabulous view of the Inner Harbor. Not only is the hotel beautiful, but the service is A+ -- they do everything right at the Sonesta really for the sake of doing the job right. The staff are all friendly and helpful, the food at our reception was legitimately delicious, and we, and all our guests, all thoroughly enjoyed out stays there. Some of the things we particularly appreciated about the Sonesta: they only have one event a night, so we were the sole focus of the event staff. We never felt like we were being nickel and dimed like some other places felt - the bridal suite was complementary for two nights, not just one (and it is out of this world!!); the price per head included passed apps, open bar, and complementary valet parking for our guests to name a few. We also loved working with Jay!

From the beginning when we were looking at various venues, event coordinators at a number of other places told us that Jay Day at the Sonesta was great - and he is! He is bright and sunny and seems to have endless energy to make everything perfect. He was great at responding quickly to emails or phone calls and made sure that everything was exactly how we wanted it.

In the end, more than a few of our guests told us that ours was the best wedding they had ever been to, and after hearing that from so many separate people, I actually believe it. Thank you Jay and the staff of the Sonesta for making ours a perfect wedding weekend!

When a few guests told us that M&A's wedding was outstanding, I thought that perhaps they were just saying that to be nice. (I had a great time, but it's hard to judge how others experienced it.). But the more I speak to family and friends, the more I've been convinced that the wedding was as special for family and friends as it was for us. Numerous guests commented that this was the best wedding they had ever been to. All mentioned that the setting in the Sonesta was perfect, the food was excellent, the workers were friendly, and everything went smoothly. It was almost universally agreed as well that the band was fantastic.

My husband and I fell in love with Baltimore last year and knew we wanted to get married there at the Inner Harbor. When we looked at the Royal Sonesta, we immediately knew this was the place. The hotel has gone through a major renovation and is ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! When you first walk through the doors, you will be amazed by the beautiful winding staircase, the fresh flowers, and the marble floors. The guest rooms are beautiful and well appointed. The views from the Harborview rooms are breathtaking. It truly is a lovely hotel.

The hotel, however, would not be what it is without it's staff. Every single person that we had contact with in our several visits to the Royal Sonesta couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. The valets, doormen, front desk staff, servers, chefs, and housekeepers were delightful. Our main point of contact throughout the planning was Jay Day. He is truly one of a kind, and after reading the other reviews, it is clear that he is a true professional who does whatever it takes to make sure you have the best possible wedding. Like others have said, he promptly answers all questions and handles all concerns. I was planning our wedding from out of state which could have been stressful in itself, but it couldn't have gone smoother because of Jay. (Ladies: this guy is awesome!) (Sonesta: Jay should get a raise, he's AMAZING!) The wedding timeline Jay helped us create was perfect. He gets in touch with your vendors to organize all deliveries and set ups. You literally don't have to worry about a thing with Jay running the show.

The food is great. The service is great. All of our guests came in from out of town and had an absolute blast! We are still hearing about how much fun the wedding was and how beautiful the hotel was. When we walked into the Royal Sonesta we knew immediately that we were going to have that as our reception space. Working with Jay and the rest of the staff was like a dream. Jay is amazing! Whenever we had any questions he answered quickly and thoroughly. We met with him a few times before the wedding and after our conversations the stress would go away and I trusted him without a doubt, that he had it all under control. The food was excellent , from cocktail hour to the quesadilla bar at the end of the night. We got ready at the hotel and Jay checked on us multiple times to make sure that we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Jay was more than accommodating and worked closely with my vendors to make sure they all knew the time line and game plan for the day. We truly couldn't have asked for service. It was the best day ever and we couldn't have done it without Jay and the staff at the Sonesta!

Not only does the Royal Sonesta have a spectacular location and event spaces, but the staff and catering services are incredible! We were so happy we booked our wedding at the Royal Sonesta. Jay Day, the event coordinator, is such an asset to the hotel and to our wedding. He met with us frequently to discuss the menu, decor, day of planning, and event options. He is very organized, flexible on what the client wants, honest in his opinion and works tirelessly to make your event perfect. We had a lot of obstacles the week of our wedding. Jay kept us calm, updated us constantly, and was accommodating with services the hotel could provide. The entire staff at the Royal Sonesta went above and beyond to make my guests and I feel welcome and special. If that’s not enough, the hotel itself is beautiful – event spaces with windows onto the harbor, new and upgraded décor, and modern sleek rooms for your guests. I cannot rave about the Royal Sonesta enough and am so appreciative for everything they did for family and myself.

From Day 1 Jay was AMAZING. He always answered each question with 100% honesty. We started planning our wedding early (1+ years before) but even from the that early on Jay would answer all of our emails within 24hours (usually within a few minutes). It was great to know he was that responsive and accessible. The venue is BEAUTIFUL. Floor to ceiling windows in the main ballroom added spectacular views of the harbor even on an incredibly rainy day. The view from the Royal Sonesta is also truly unique because you get the harbor, the aquarium, the large ships in the harbor, the lighthouse and the full Baltimore"skyline" from it. The other venues with floor to ceiling windows don't have quite the right vantage point. The food was terrific and because we had a full evening of tasting well before the event, we knew our guests were going to get good food and hearty plates. The staff at the Royal Sonesta was so accommodating to everything we needed from the beginning of our event planning up to the day of the event. The best thing I liked about this venue is that they do 1 wedding a day. So as the bride, you really do feel like a princess. They made you feel as though everything that was going on that day was solely for you. We had a fantastic wedding at the Royal Sonesta. I gave them 5/5 on each category because I can honestly say everything about them was great. Of course there are always hiccups in each wedding but if anything went wrong Jay and his staff went above and beyond to correct it and made the situation much better.

I will stay here again! They were perfect to myself, my husband, and all of our family that traveled to Baltimore for our wedding!

When we had first gotten engaged I went with my MoH to look at several venues. The Royal Sonesta was the third one we visited. We instantly fell in love with the hotel and its location. But we weren’t totally sold on it until we met Jay, the event planner at the Sonesta. I knew by the end of the tour around the hotel with him that he was going to be personally involved and help me make our day perfect.

We had booked the venue about a year in advance, so there were a lot of changes that were constantly being made. I think we had changed our date 3 or 4 times in the earlier months, all the while Jay was completely accommodating. The hotel itself also underwent some major changes. They remodeled it earlier this year and Jay kept me in the loop the whole time – showing us the blueprints and models. The hotel was gorgeous before, but now it’s much more modern and glamorous. We are so grateful to have been able to have a wedding there after the renovations.

Being the first of my friends to get married, I didn’t know much about anything. Jay was there to give me advice and I welcomed (and asked for) his suggestions. And I am so glad I did because everything just looked and felt absolutely amazing.

Absolutely love this place and the staff! Our wedding and reception here, and it was absolutely perfect. The rooms fit everything about my theme which was a Harlem Renissance/ Great Gatsby theme. Very attentive and fast working staff. Will definitely recommend them to friends and family.

Let me start by saying the Royal Sonesta Harbor Court exceeded our families' expectations for our daughters wedding reception from start to finish. The Senior Catering Manager, Jay Day, treated my wife and I as if it was his daughter getting married. His guidance, patience, wit, suggestions, responsiveness, direct speak when necessary, and genuine interest in making our daughters special day the most memorable day in her life was over and above anything we could have wanted. A++ for Jay. Now for summary points:
> Staff from the valets (special shout out to Calvin), to the front desk, the reception servers, Jeffrey the captain, bar tenders, bellmen (special shout out to James) couldn't have been more attentive and friendly.
>Food at the reception was phenomenal considering service for over 100; each filet, salmon, chicken, and vegetable lasagna entree was consistently prepared and well presented; many commented on the overall food experience.
> Cocktail hour was fabulous with plentiful butlered hors d'oeuvrs.
> Everyone was from out of town, and stayed at the hotel. Rooms were spacious, and clean. A few we saw though could have used new carpeting and some updating on the furniture. A negative was in the booking process. There seemed to be a disconnect between Sales and reservations. At one point, Reservations lost our block of reserved rooms, and some of our guests couldn't get the room they wanted. However, Jay got things straightened out quickly. Hotel needs to close this gap.
> Valet service is extremely fast and efficient. Definitely should valet your car.
> Hotel is very convenient to Inner Harbor and Federal Hill area, all easily within walking distance.

Bottom line, the Royal Sonesta Harbor Court is the place to stay and/or hold an event if in the Baltimore City area.

Parents always want their children’s wedding day to be special. Our daughter’s wedding at the Royal Sonesta exceeded our expectations and was perfect. This would not have been possible without the help of the event planner, Jay Day, and the hotel staff. We held the rehearsal, the wedding and the reception at the hotel as well as a brunch the morning after.
The planning went smoothly, the food was terrific and the service was top notch.

I couldn't say more amazing things about the Royal Sonesta, Jay our wedding coordinator and all the other staff there. From the moment we had our initial meeting with Jay, we knew that we wanted to move forward with having our wedding reception there. Jay really helped us through the entire wedding planning process. On our wedding day, he was right there making sure everything went smoothly. As for the rest of the staff at the Royal Sonesta, everyone was so polite and helpful. I knew after my first meeting with Jay that I had to have my wedding at the Royal Sonesta. I had always wanted a downtown wedding but struggled to find a place that offered views of the harbor. The large windows in the Whitehall Ballroom were just what I was looking for in my venue. The hotel rooms are also unique and offered the beautiful views to our wedding guests.

My bridal party decided to get ready at the hotel. The bridal suite was the perfect size and had a wonderful view of the harbor. We had hair and make-up come to the hotel and had more than enough room to accommodate my whole bridal party. The day of my wedding I was not stressed knowing that the staff at the Royal Sonesta was putting my wedding together. Jay and I had discussed every detail which let me relax and enjoy the day.

Throughout the whole planning process I felt supported and understood by Jay. The whole staff at the hotel goes above and beyond. I would highly recommend the Royal Sonesta as the best Baltimore wedding venue.

I cannot say enough good things about the Sonesta. From the day we met our day-of coordinator, Jay Day, I knew we'd be in great hands. He is detail-oriented and very responsive--and for me being somewhat of a control freak at times, this worked wonderfully. The hotel itself is gorgeous--a gem amongst the standard hotel chains you'll find in Baltimore (nothing wrong with those, just wanted something "different" for our wedding)! The suites and rooms are very nice--the bridal suite was huge and had floor to ceiling views of the harbor...perfect for photo opps when getting ready in the morning! The space is great too--we fit about 160 people comfortably in the ballroom, then had a spillover room with two bars, sofas, and high tops so people didn't feel confined to one room. As the bride, I told myself that something would probably go wrong that day, but to my amazement, NOTHING went wrong--it went smoothly, and there were no hitches (multiple guests said the same thing to me)! I have Jay to thank for this--he was so prepared for everything leading up to the day--we met with him a few times in-person to go over details, and exchanged many e-mails. The day before my wedding, my stress level related to wedding-day logistics was low, because I knew Jay had a plan B if anything were to go awry. The food was also outstanding--got rave reviews from our guests about the rockfish imperial especially. I highly recommend the Royal Sonesta if you want an elegant, classy feel to your reception, and please request to work with Jay if at all possible! I can't wait to go back and reminisce...I actually cried the day after we had to leave the hotel!

I could not be happier with our experience at the Royal Sonesta. Jay Day is absolutely fantastic, as is the entire staff at the hotel. The majority of our guests were from out of town and stayed at the hotel. I heard nothing but positive remarks about how they enjoyed their stay and that they loved staying at the same place as the wedding. Through the planning process, I felt entirely confident that the quality of the services would be extremely high, and I wasn't disappointed. We also really appreciated that all of our personal things that we brought to use for the wedding was neatly packed up and brought to our hotel room that night. The food was delicious and the service excellent. All around, I am very glad that we chose to have our wedding at the Sonesta.

My wife and I could not have asked for a better venue to have our wedding. The plan was to have our wedding outside on the seventh floor, but the weather had different plans for us. Jay Day was more than accommodating and went above and beyond to make our day special despite the weather. All of the staff was courteous and accommodating. Jay was meticulous and made sure everything was perfect. I would without hesitation recommend the Harbor Court for their wedding.

My daughter's wedding reception was recently held at the Royal Sonesta. Over the course of nearly the past year, the Senior Catering Sales Manager, Jeremy Day, has worked tirelessly with my daughter & I to plan for one lovely day. No question was ever viewed as too silly, no request too small. "Jay" led the way when needed but gave us every opportunity to plan everything to our individual taste. He stepped in when he was called upon and helped us secure "special" linens and chairs, making sure the amounts were correct and that the discount extended to the Sonesta was passed along to us. He was on hand early in the day to make sure everything in the ballroom was set up beautifully and personally took me on a tour before the other guests entered the room. Since the weather cooperated we were also able to have cocktail hour on the roof garden with a city view. Everyone enjoyed that immensely. Our guests, also commented on the quality of the food. Like most people, we had a budget to adhere to but Jay and their wonderful chef worked along with us to create a lovely and great tasting meal for our guests. The beef tenderloin, in particular, was raved over. The atmosphere of the Sonesta is an elegant and beautiful one. We're very happy with our decision to have had our daughter's wedding reception there. Our only regret is that perhaps she should have had her ceremony there as well! My thanks to their staff, and Jay, in particular. I will miss his personal style and expertise.

Jay and the staff at The Royal Sonesta Harbor Court could not have been better! Our wedding was in late August and the day was just perfect. We had our ceremony in Ellicott City then drove down to the city for photos, while the guests headed to cocktail hour. We had cocktails inside, although there was the option of having cocktails on the terrace. We also had the dance floor in the pre-function room which is adjacent to the ballroom. It was a hit! The guests had plenty of room to dance and we were really able to utilize the entire available space.
Jay was extremely helpful throughout the entire planning process. He has great advice and is very experienced. He is also hilarious and a lot of fun! He made it so easy, and I had nothing to worry about on the day of the wedding! Jay and his staff took care of everything. I highly recommend The Royal Sonesta Harbor Court for your wedding reception!

We loved our daughters wedding reception at Royal Sonesta. The food was excellent, the venue beautiful and Jay Day the catering manager was exceptional, had excellent suggestions and took care of all details from start to finish. Our attendant was very professional and made sure we were taken care of the entire night. Our guests commented on how professional the wait staff was, too. We were in the unique position of 2 daughters getting married within months of each other. Both had beautiful weddings and venues. The 2nd wedding was at The Belvedere. Though they were both beautiful and we had a wonderful evening both nights I would rate Royal Sonesta as my first choice. We had more personal service with Jay, there was no skimping with any of the food, he was attentive, and very easy to work with. There had been an issue with parking on the day of reception but it was taken care of immediately and without issue thanks to Jay. Last but not least, he appreciated our business.

We booked our wedding block at the Royal Sonesta so my review is for my experience with the hotel block and not its wedding ceremony/reception venue.

I can not express how happy we were with the Royal Sonesta, and especially with Margaret Chua, the sales manager who worked with us. I called several other large hotels in the Inner Harbor who took all of 15 seconds to list through the rates and told me that it would be a busy weekend, and to book fast since we were requesting a block of around 50 rooms. Margaret was the only one who from the beginning told me how much they valued their relationship with our reception venue, and would do everything to help me set up the right hotel block. More than half our large guest list was traveling in from out of town, so getting the right hotel block was very important to us. After we signed the contract, Margaret was always quick to respond my emails requesting updated booked rooms lists and other general questions, and made things very easy for me, which any bride planning a wedding can appreciate!

On the weekend of the wedding, everything went super smooth as well. They upgraded us to a junior suite, and were very accommodating as we made requests for extra chairs, etc as the bridal party was getting ready in the suite, which had an incredible view of the harbor. We also have only good things to say about the concierge and valet service. Several of our guests afterwards told us we picked a beautiful hotel and that it made their weekend in Baltimore all that much better.

I would highly highly recommend the Royal Sonesta!

So I was a bit of a control freak about my wedding. (I had a wedding binder, I had checklists, I was going to make sure everything was perfect even if it killed me). Jay Day at the Royal Sonesta literally took care of everything, made me put my binder away the week of the wedding and just enjoy the day. Everything was perfect. All of our guests raved about the wedding reception and accommodations at the Royal Sonesta. They took care of our VIP guests, making sure people who needed early check-in, got it. Jay checked on me the day and night before the wedding and the day of and stayed throughout the party to make sure everything was perfect.

The location has a GORGEOUS view of the harbor. You will not find better, I promise, and trust me, I toured them all. All of the staff at the Royal Sonesta made us feel like the entire hotel was ours for the weekend and treated us with the utmost care.

Throughout the wedding planning process, Jay and the Royal Sonesta staff were receptive to my questions and requests but never pressured me or made us feel like our ideas were bad or silly.

If you're getting married in Baltimore and you want a 5 star event, you really have no choice other than Royal Sonesta.

We worked with Jay & the chef to develop our menu. Our parents & guests continue to tell us it was one of the best weddings they have been attended, and that the food was truly impressive.
I honestly did not have to do or worry about a thing on the day of my wedding. Jay was so helpful and attentive to the details from the start of working with him early in our engagement. He collaborates well with the hotel staff (chefs, catering service, housekeeping etc.) and external vendors. He has so much experience and a keen eye to detail; he just gets it, and you don’t have to repeat yourself or re-introduce yourself each time you talk. This level of organization & personal attention adds so much value to what you are already receiving when you book with them.

The Hotel itself is very special. The design scheme is beautiful, the location is convenient in the downtown area, and the rooms are very accommodating. If we could plan our wedding all over again, we would absolutely select Royal Sonesta.

For our May wedding we blocked rooms for our hotel guests and for the wedding party to get ready. The hotel staff was amazing and I could not have asked for a more beautiful place to get ready in and to stay at the night of our wedding. The hotel truly treats you like royalty! We blocked rooms at the Royal Sonesta for our guests and families and stayed there as well. The hotel is beautiful and the staff could not have been any more attentive and helpful to us and our guests. We had a stunning junior suite in which my bridesmaids and I got dressed and it was a perfect size and lovely space in which to spend time. We also took all of our posed pictures at the hotel and it makes a gorgeous backdrop for photos. Margaret on the sales team was very helpful to work with leading up to the wedding. She even helped my MIL plan a special kids friendly menu for our nieces and nephews who stayed back at the hotel during our rehearsal dinner. We and our families had such a wonderful weekend staying at the Royal Sonesta and I highly recommend staying there...and can't wait to go back! We could not believe how reasonable the special room block rate was for the quality of the hotel.

The Royal Sonesta Harbor Court was the PERFECT place for my husband and I to have our wedding. They were extremely accommodative (taking down decorations that we didn't like, giving us free reign of several ballrooms, giving all of our guests an extremely flexible discount block) and had a vast amount of expertise that we relied upon. The hotel has a nice antiquated feel that I was looking for...it was the only venue I came across that had this feel. The food was absolutely incredible. My husband still has cravings for the steak. Jay is an incredible, extremely detail-oriented wedding coordinator. He was so flexible in accommodating our crazy schedules as well. I would recommend Royal Sonesta Harbor Court to everyone.

I can think of no better venue that perfectly captures the sometimes hidden elegance of classic Baltimore. From the grand staircase to the scenes of old Maryland that line the walls with countless pieces of exquisite artwork, the Harbor Court hotel is one of the crown jewels of the Inner Harbor. It has ceremony & reception spaces that give incomparable views of the Harbor itself, especially for an evening wedding like ours. But the beauty of the space is easily trumped by the skill and care exhibited by the hotel staff. Their support, knowledge, and ability to respond to both our needs and the needs of our guests was unparalleled. And where do I even begin about the catering? The quality of the food was beyond words. The Sonesta truly made our biggest day one for the ages.

The Intercontinental Harbor Court Hotel in Baltimore Maryland helped me to make my brunch wedding fabulous. The hotel was accomodating in every way I needed them to be. They upgraded the hotel rooms for me and my husband, his mom and my parents to harbor view room. The ceremony and reception went smoothly. The food was wonderful. Last but not least Scotlyn Campanella, the catering special events manager was AMAZING. She kept everything in order. There was never a task that she couldn't handle.

The hotel did a great job from the moment I checked in our fabulous …fabulous suite…I honestly have to say…if I ever have to do another event…this is my 1st and ONLY choice!!! The service is top notch!!!
So…any brides reading this..GO SEE THIS VENUE!!..It’s a must SEE..Sometimes words are just not enough…it overlooks the water..which was stunning for pictures…the staff was amazing amazing..I felt like a queen the entire weekend…this venue truly takes pride in making a bride feel special..its the little things that I will cherish for years to come..just calling down stairs for a wakeup call and the hotel staff representative saying “congratulations Miss. Bassett” for them to take the time to know I was the bride..just made me smile…Let me not forget Margaret..who I emailed just about every day..she handled our guest rooms…she was quick to respond and answered all my questions..even if I was confused..she still dealt with me…she was great to work with…even taking calls directly from some of our guest…thank you thank you…The valet parking…as much as my entire bridal party had to come in and out…they accommodated everything. I seriously could type for days…But..these are just some of the highlights that come to mind. I can’t wait to send the staff our thank you cards..and our sincere appreciation for all that was done for my Husband and I to celebrate our union.

It was 5 star service all the way! Scotlyn, the event director, was wonderful and helpful during the entire planning process and extremely helpful the day of. Lynette, the Head Maitre d, is a dream, making sure my husband and I had everything we needed before we needed it, my parents were taken care of, and my in-laws were happy. The food was one of the reasons we booked with the Intercontinental, and it certainly did not disappoint! The hors d'oeuvres were fantastic, and the full dinner was first class all the way! I couldn't have been more pleased with the entire event! Thank you to the entire staff for a wonderful day!

Jeff and his team were able to take all of my ideas and suggestions without blinking an eye, and they did them perfectly. From floral arrangements, DJ placement and gift detail everything was done seamlessly. I had no worries and Jeff catered personally to me and my husband the entire night.
The General Manager Arpad truly made our stay memorable with room service, drink service and room upgrades with personal touches; making our special day all the more special. I highly recommend the InterContinental Harbor Court Baltimore as a wedding venue.

We had a wonderful experience planning our daughter's recent wedding at the Harbor Court InterContinental Hotel. All of staff at the hotel were highly professional and extremely accommodating to all of our needs. I particularly want to recognize Scotlyn Campanella, event coordinator, at the InterContinental for her professionalism, creativity and responsiveness in ensuring every moment of the weekend ran smoothly and was enjoyed by all.

One of the best decisions that we made was booking the Intercontinental Harbor Court Hotel for our wedding reception. From the moment we first met with Harbor Court, we knew that we wouldn't be disappointed. They were so helpful and responsive throughout the entire process and I did not spend one second worrying on my wedding day that something wouldn't be taken care of. The hotel itself is beautiful and allows for amazing picture opportunities. And the hotel bar is the perfect location to continue the celebration after the reception ends. My daughter was married and the reception and the morning after breakfast was held at the InterContinental Harbor Court Hotel in Baltimore MD. Where do I start to tell you how great it was to be at this hotel. The service is impeccable. Everyone from the valet and the front desk to the bartenders were ALL very polished and professional. I could not have asked for any more than what they provided to us during and after the reception. The rooms and the hotel personnel you deal with are top rate. I travel around the world and am involved with events annually. This hotel produced the finest event that I have ever seen. You won't be disappointed if you choose the InterContinental Harbor Court Hotel. I promise.

Our wedding ceremony and reception at the Intercontinental on January 8th was more beautiful and perfect than we ever could have imagined. The hotel is gorgeous and has a classy and elegant feel - a complete difference from some other hotel venues that tend to have that sterile, corporate look. We did a lot of searching but knew after our first visit that this was where we wanted to have our special day.

Katie Shannon, the hotel's wedding coordinator was fabulous! She helped us with every detail and made herself available to us throughout the entire planning process. We knew that we were in good hands with Katie and the rest of the Intercontinental staff after our initial meeting. Everyone we met and worked with was courteous, professional, and helpful. Katie also helped us to customize our wedding so that it really fit our personalities. Details like our ice luge and signature specialty cocktails are just a few examples. On the day of the wedding, Katie was completely calm and composed and made sure that everything ran smoothly. No request we made of her seemed too great and she always responded to us quickly with answers to all our questions.

The food was fantastic. There is a large selection of meal options to choose from and the hotel is extremely accommodating when it comes to customizing the menu. Our guests raved about the spread that we had for the cocktail hour, as well as the dinner and the cake.

Even for couples on a budget, the Intercontinental has packages to choose from that can make the wedding of your dreams possible. The value for what you spend at the Intercontinental far exceeds what other venues in the Baltimore area have to offer. You really feel that your wedding is their top priority, no matter how many other events they have going on.

Our wedding was everything that we hoped it would be and more. Looking back, I wouldn't have changed a thing - especially not the venue. There is no better place in Baltimore to have the special wedding of your dreams.

I am not one to give perfect ratings to everything and before the current Catering Specialists came on board my scores would have been quite lower. However, she was incredible to work with. She helped me pull my wedding together in a matter of weeks and it was more than I could have ever hoped for. Additionally, the hotel is gorgeous and unique.

The Harbor Court Hotel caught my eye 12 years ago when I was briefly there for lunch and I decided right then that I wanted to get married there. All these years later I finally had that opportunity! It is a truly beautiful venue. The main floor and the reception floor are not cookie-cutter hotel. It looks more like someone's stately mansion. It is a very classy place. The wedding coordinator did everything we asked for and accommodated our wishes with the menu and the wedding package. The waitstaff at the wedding was very helpful. We received many compliments on the quality of the food at the wedding. Upon arriving, I was upgraded to a very luxurious suite for the night before and after the wedding. I would highly recommend the Harbor Court for a Baltimore wedding.

She said yes to everything I asked for...the best customer service ever!! She was always on top of everything and very responsive.
