This venue has wedding packages that not other venues offer. I am grateful that a couple of the packages comes with a coordinator. The wedding would not have ran so smoothly if it wasn't for Kaui and the RHGC staff. They were on top of everything. Even though I messed up on not informing the coordinator with every details. She was ready for all the curve balls I unfortunately threw at her. Make sure you tell her everything. The venue is gorgeous with beautiful surrounding mountains and the food was delicious. I received a lot of compliments about the food.

Heather and her team were simply amazing. About a day turn around for response to questions and the venue for pictures was just stunning. The bar setup efficient. I've never had a perfect plate still warm and meat tender with a guest list of 115 but they nailed it. Not one complaint from the guests. If planning is not your forte they provided lists of previous vendors who they have worked with in the past, this was very helpful. Thank you for making our Khaki ball truly Memorable.

We are so happy that we chose the Royal Hawaiian Golf Club to be our wedding venue. It was beautiful and elegant, which is exactly what we were looking for. Gorgeous views of the Ko’olau mountains, great service (we loved our bartender Berin…he had such great energy), and excellent food. We were impressed with everything they had to offer. Our guests were equally impressed and many commented that they didn’t realize this place existed, as it’s tucked away in beautiful Maunawili.
Managers Llayne Kaui and Brianna Kaui were awesome…super friendly, accommodating, and responsive with communication. They also worked really well together with my wedding coordinator. Llayne was very attentive and made sure everything ran smoothly throughout the reception. We are so grateful that we chose to have our special day at the Royal Hawaiian Golf Club. I highly recommend them if you are looking for a beautiful place for your wedding. It’s a hidden gem :)

The Royal Hawaiian Golf Club was the perfect venue! The staff were all so professional and helped us to have the perfect day. I will not forget the breathtaking views and delicious food! We could not have found a better combination of views, food, and excellent staff for our day!

They were very understanding during pandemic times. Very timely, responsive and so kind. They helped me a lot with our wedding being a destination-wedding, from decorations to planning to everything! Janene could've been my wedding planner/venue coordinator, she is the best! The price was very reasonable for such a breathtakingly beautiful and private venue, no parking to worry about paying for and the best part, all that and we still remained within our $10,000 budget.

My husband and I absolutely loved having our wedding ceremony and reception at the Royal Hawaiian Golf Course in Kailua. It was a spectacular backdrop that all of our guests truly loved, making for remarkable photos. The venue is huge, allowing for many guests, though we opted for a smaller, intimate wedding. Our guests thoroughly enjoyed the food both at the cocktail hour and during dinner service. Our guests were also thrilled with the servers, who were extremely kind and hospitable. Jeneen, our venue coordinator, went above and beyond to answer all questions, which was a lot to ask for especially during the pandemic. We felt very confident in Jeneen and all that work at the venue. We would absolutely recommend Royal Hawaiian Golf Course as a wedding venue. We were absolutely lucky to have found this venue, away from the business of waikiki.

We are incredibly grateful for the Royal Hawaiian Golf Club (RHGC), Guy Yamamoto, and Jeneen Hoopai (RHGC Event Coordinator). The venue itself is so beautiful with all the lush greenery, well-kept grounds, Ko'Olau mountains in the background and long drive in from the main road. We had a very different and unique wedding due to COVID but RHGC were so accommodating and understanding that everything went seamlessly! Due to COVID restrictions, we had a Zoom wedding ceremony with only our parents and siblings in-person and a drive-through reception. Originally our ceremony was supposed to be outside in their wedding area but since it was raining that day, we moved the ceremony indoors in the lobby area, which was beautiful, bright, and perfect. We then had the drive-through reception in their roundabout area which was perfect for our friends & family to easily drive up to say hi to us (without getting out of their cars) and safely leave. So easy! Jeneen & Guy helped us to make our wedding dreams come true and were with us every step of the way. We are so grateful for them and their amazing service! The Royal Hawaiian Golf Club is the perfect venue if you're looking for a place away from town/the city.

This review is for our absolutely beautiful wedding at the Royal Hawaiian Golf Club. First off, if you're looking for a stunning view, this place has it. I can't wait for our professional photos. We were going for the Jurassic Park feel with no buildings and great landscape and this place has it.

We shopped around and Royal Hawaiian GC had the better views and much better value than Ko'olau Ballrooms. The staff here is amazing. Merryl and Chanel have been so helpful and patient with us. I can't count the number of emails I have between us but they are always quick to respond and a question is never stupid. The wedding went surprisingly smooth even though there was heavy rain the morning. We had backups were in place but luckily they were not needed. Got all our photos in, guests absolutely loved the views (people were taking so many photos) and moreover loved the food. Garlic chicken, mac nut crusted mahi mahi, and kalbi were the main entrees but the surprising hit was the mashed potatoes. Little chunky with butter and suffice it to say it was a big hit. Guests went back for seconds and even thirds on the food.

We were told by friends we need to eat during the reception and the staff was very attentive and brought out pupu when they could squeeze between table photos and were very quick to bring out our main plates when we were finished. We talked to many of the guests and they all raved about the food, view, and beautiful wedding.

They really provided the awesome experience for our guests that we were looking for. However, I can't rave enough about the staff that worked with us. They were never too busy or overlooked anything. They have many options and will work with you to get the best out of your day. Contact them and I sincerely hope you get to experience what we did.

Royal Hawaiian Golf Club was the perfect venue, tucked away and not chaotic. The food and cake were delicious! The staff was always so friendly and helpful. They made my wedding stress free!

The venue is breathtaking. Once we toured this venue, we had the perfect wedding vision. The team at RHGC were very thorough. At the time (7/1/22), the venue was going through new management and communication got a little wonky. We found the banquets event manager and team do not work on-site so sometimes it was difficult to reach them. The venue does require a wedding coordinator, which it made it more helpful with these type of situations!

The Golf Club offers so many things in their packages which makes things very convenient. You don't have to rent a lot of outside sources as the club offers most of them which is a PLUS. They make wedding cakes too!

The venue offers a place for the gals to get ready. However, we found the A/C didn't work in the Maunawili room. We were informed maintenance were going to get on it, but unfortunately did not. It was a little warm while Hair & Make Up were being done.

Lastly, the team at RHGC were wonderful! They are so attentive and kind. Our guests LOVED the venue and RAVED about it so much. We didn't need to hire Photo Booth services because the venue's views were all our guests talked about. The Ballroom was beautiful too. Highly recommend RHGC as a wedding venue.

Chanel Castro (Event Specialist) has been awesome so far! This is a destination wedding for my fiance and I, and she did a wonderful job going over the details over the phone and email. We did meet with her in person for the tasting menu and to visit the site, and she is definitely a subject matter expert for all wedding details at the Royal Hawaiian Golf Course. I highly recommend this venue for your reception!

This review is coming pretty late, but we're still very excited to tell you about the great time we had with the Royal Hawaiian Golf Club!

The Royal Hawaiian Golf Club is a beautiful venue, and they will take good care of you and your guests. However, clients must be vigilant and proactive to make sure they get what they want.

When my partner went looking for venues in O’ahu, I insisted that we not be married in Waikiki, and that our wedding be in front of the mountains. In that, and in so much more, the Royal Hawaiian Golf Club succeeded.

Nestled in the Ko’olau Mountains just outside of Kailua town, the Royal Hawaiian Golf Club is a fabulous golf course, restaurant, and banquet space that is trying to do more private events and weddings.

Unfortunately, this expansion into weddings has left their team a bit short-staffed and overwhelmed. The venue director for weddings was awfully sweet, but was very difficult to reach with questions. She was rarely at her desk, had terrible cell reception in the mountains, and rarely responded to emails. Worse, we found we had to correct her on the details of our wedding (including the spelling of my name) multiple times. We put up with this because the venue was so great, but we knew that we and our coordinator were going to have to stay on top of the venue staff to ensure that everything on the day was going to be executed as planned.

And, barring a minor mishap with the bar (serving liquor when we specifically requested beer & wine only - rectified and refunded when we brought it up), everything did go smoothly.

Aside from the stunning view, the best part about the Royal Hawaiian Golf Club is that they do their own catering, and the food is DELICIOUS. No rubber chicken here. We had kalua pork and furikake salmon for our entrees, along with an assortment of local sides and salads (chicken long rice ftw). I was surprised at how many salads they offered in their catering menu, but for all I know, most weddings have five different salads. In any case, the RHGC team was very accommodating, and worked with us to adjust the menu to our needs. We had to remind them about our menu selections a few times, but the food turned out great.

In the end, I’m so glad my partner and I were married at the Royal Hawaiian Golf Club. The food and the location were fantastic, and everyone had a great time in the mountains. If we could do it again, we would. However, I would caution anyone planning a wedding at this fabulous venue to double and triple check that they have all the details right, at least until they get enough staff to handle the amount of weddings they are planning.

When you do get married at RHGC, get ready for some spectacular photos, and incredible food!

The venue is an absolute dream, it's picture perfect. absolutely no complaints there.

The staff needs work. I understand at the time of my wedding, a transition of staff was happening for this venue. Regardless, this caused a problem for my wedding. I spoke directly to the banquet manager (Brianna Kauai) about questions I had about the wedding day.. and the information she gave me was contraindicating to the information I received on the wedding day, which led to last minute additional fees. My first major concern was that the groomsmen were notified last minute that they needed to clear all of their items from the locker room that they had gotten dressed in at the venue... No one had told us prior that this would happen, so therefore several of the groomsmen ended up scrambling to clean the room to avoid a fee.

In addition, Brianna informed us that the bridal party would be allowed to bring champagne in to drink prior to the ceremony.. at the end of the event, we were charged a large fee for additional alcohol. The employee on site called Brianna to verify the information she gave our wedding party.. and she denied all claims that she stated. I appreciate the manger who worked that night who offered to call Brianna to verify her claims.. but it was upsetting to hear her deny all the things she promised us. As a bride who is already paying a large fee for the wedding, I have no problem paying extra for alcohol.. what was upsetting was the lack of consistency and honesty on Brianna's end. In the large scale of a wedding, paying an extra $500 for alcohol fees is no problem, but the way the staff went about it really upset all of us in the wedding party, and that's on top of kicking the grooms men our of the locker room early without notification.

If anyone works with them in the future, I would get all quotes given by employees in writing (seeing as they deny claims they've made). This is such a beautiful venue, it's so sad to see it poorly managed. I hope they are able to remedy this issue in a timely manner. The venue should realize that people are wiling to pay the fees, but the staff need to be honest and upfront about all payments.
