We absolutely loved working with Emily for our wedding! We got the ten hour package + engagement shoot, which I highly recommend to get some practice in front of the camera (and the pictures were awesome). She was so easy to talk to, and had so many ideas for posing/location/etc, which was great because we are both camera-shy introverts who did not bring any ideas to the table lol. Also her photo timeline really created the backbone for our wedding day, which was amazing. I LOVE wedding photos so choosing the right photographer was an important decision, and I could not be more thrilled with the results. -

Emily is amazing! We met at a bridal expo in Allentown and her friendly and outgoing personality really clicked with me. BOOK EARLY to secure your spot. My husband is NOT a picture person... so I knew it would be a challenge and Emily did wonders! Emily is very organized; she touched base with us as we planned to ensure the special moments were captured. Emily/Zarah were timely the day of the wedding; they were friendly and outgoing with all. They really helped us stay on track but also allowed us to have fun and enjoy our day as pictures were captured. We got pictures back and I am AMAZED at all the wonderful pictures we got. All the memories of the day came right back to us; it is fun get to relive the day through the pictures that were taken. Highly recommend Emily and the Rooted Image Photography team. -

Super flexible and a well-organized team!
Emily and Joe were an excellent addition to our wedding day! They arrived on-time and ready to go, with our timeline printed and clipped-on for quick reference. When our schedule was running behind, they quickly reworked our photo timeline so we could still get the photos we wanted and have our ceremony at the planned time. Their communication with us and each other was an all-around valuable asset.
As far as photos go, my husband and I are a bit camera-shy, but Emily discussed this with us ahead of time and she gave us extra direction and encouragement which made it easy to just enjoy the day and each other. We were both shocked at how low stress it ended up being and how much fun we had.
Thank you guys for documenting our big day! My friends and family are still messaging me about how amazing the photos are, and we had a great time working with you both. -

I cannot explain how much we absolutely LOVED Emily & Joe from Rooted Image Photography and I could not emphasize enough what a phenomenal job they did! My husband I got married this past June 2025 and we are so thrilled & grateful that we were able to work with Rooted Image Photography for so many reasons. To begin with the experience itself: Emily and Joe were everything we needed - organized, experienced, efficient, professional, and expert in terms of photography. Beyond the photography/pictures, they were *so much fun* - they were so full of joy, flexible and communicative, with a great sense of humor and so much positivity. They had every picture (with each family member who they knew by name, each pose etc) planned out ahead of time, knew all of our family by name, and worked hard to keep us on our schedule which was truly what made the day so smooth. I appreciated specifically how well Emily communicated with me throughout the whole day (letting me know where we were at, and asking if we wanted to make any changes or adjustments to the schedule as we went etc). She truly knew what she was doing and her advice with each matter was incredibly helpful. My husband and I are not what you would call natural posers and have not been photographed on many occasions so we weren't sure what to expect - Emily and Joe made it so easy and fun not just for us but also for our families and our 18 person bridal party. Emily and Joe knew exactly how to place each person and did so quickly - we were able to get every photo we wanted without sacrificing time away from our wedding & we made it to cocktail hour as we hoped (we didn't do a first look)! We loved that we didn't feel like we spent our entire wedding just posing for pictures. I have been in a few weddings before with multiple friends/bridesmaids and all of us agreed that Emily was our favorite - she was so lovely and added so much happiness to the day but never overstepped. In regards to the photos - they could not have done a better job!!!!!!!! The quality of the photos themselves are fantastic, but as it is with photography it is truly the eye behind the camera that matters. Emily and Joe captured such important & candid moments (even when we had no idea they were happening!) that genuinely tell the story and emotions of the day. Our day was perfect and magical and to look at the pictures is reliving it exactly as it was. The day went by so quickly but having the photos that hold everything in time is so cool. One thing that I really wanted to avoid was focusing on the look of my wedding/pictures over the meaning & purpose behind it - Emily and Joe made this possible and it is very evident in the photos how authentic the experience was because of them. We plan on never having another wedding but would absolutely work with Rooted Image Photography again and again and again. They are absolutely the best and we cannot recommend them enough -

Emily and her team made this whole process so easy for us. We were u comfortable in front of the camera but she made us feel relaxed and got natural photos. All of our family and friends commented on how great Emily and her team at Rooted Images were - they were there to capture all the big moments like both our grandpas on the dancefloor or when I was dancing with my waffle fries - and she fit right in. Emily made sure we had enough time to do everything we wanted on the day of (for family photos and made it to cocktail hour). She also made sure we captured all of the photos we wanted. The process was so easy and we absolutely love going through our engagement and wedding photos. The hardest decision we have is which ones to hang up! -

Amazing Photographers 💜💜
We had both Emily #1 and Emily #2 photograph our wedding in April 2025 and they did phenomenal!! Before I even got our pictures back, I knew Emily paid attention to details.. and was very particular with her work.. a quality you want your photographer to have!! My wedding day was a long day.. going to three different locations.. and at each location, both Emily(s) were ready to go! They were friendly and very personable! Even more of a surprise, we got our wedding photos back early! I was very happy with this as I wanted to gift our moms the pictures for Mother’s Day and I had ample time to get the wedding photos printed and ready to go for Mother’s Day! They really captured a lot of awesome photos through out the whole day.. love seeing the pictures of the things I didn’t really take in that day and also the photos of the groomsmen and other photos that I was not physically there for. Overall would 10/10 recommend.. you would be foolish to not chose Rooted Image 🤍

We were lucky enough to have Emily as our wedding photographer for our June 2024 wedding. She was great at communicating and made the whole process easy from start to finish. We worked with her for our engagement photos as well as the photos for our big day.
We booked an 8 hour package and she made everything run so smoothly. During the wedding photos she was great at making us feel at ease and getting great natural looking photos. She had great ideas for poses and worked with us when we wanted quite a few family pictures in limited time. She added so much fun and energy to our wedding day.
Our photos turned out amazing and we had SO many to choose from. She captured every part of our day that we wanted and more! We highly recommend her for your wedding day, you will not be disappointed. -

From the first time I meet Emily at a bridal show to the time I said goodbye to her that night, she truly felt like a friend and was a huge component to what I considered a pretty stress-less planning process.
Emily turned around the day of timeline with ease and kept us on track throughout the day. Her and her second shooter Brian felt like a part of the bridal party for the day. Brian made sure the groomsman looked put together by fixing their pocket squares and even helped my sister bustle my dress so it could get done quickly. Their presence truly had an impact on our day, which is something I don’t you’ll find with every photographer.
Now for the pictures. We are blown away with how great the pictures came out and how good she made us look. As two people who aren’t big picture people we were convinced we looked awkward while taking the pictures but the end result was anything but! The pictures sincerely captured the beauty of scenery, the happiness we felt, and fun that was had by all. And how quickly she turned around our gallery, was a huge and unexpected bonus. Must Book Photographer!
Emily from Rooted Image Photography went above and beyond. From the very first phone call that I had with Emily, I knew I did not need to keep looking for another photographer. We instantly clicked with our personalities and the style that she captures. The month leading up to the wedding was super stressful. Emily took the time to call me, ask a few questions, and started working on our day of timeline for the wedding. Having this information helped create more organization for the day and gave me a better idea of what to expect. The week of the wedding, I noticed rain and cold weather on the forecast. I always envisioned my ceremony being outside. Emily called me because she could tell I was stressed. She took the time to talk to me as a friend and let me know that no matter what happens, everything is going to be OK. If it rained - she has plans for that. If it didn’t rain, wonderful - we can still stick to the normal schedule. It was a breath of fresh air that I needed with words of encouragement right before the big day. It meant so much to me! -

Picture Perfect!
We just got married in July 2023 at Woodstone Country Club. It was an absolute dream come true. Emily and her second photographer, John, fit into our day and bridal party perfectly. She was so positive, happy, and accepting all day, which makes for an easy relationship! I’m someone who asks 35285 questions and she was always there to answer every single one. Fantastic all around!
I was a bridesmaid in a wedding Emily shot in 2018 and because of that experience referred her to a friend who got married in 2022. When it was my turn this year there was no other photographer I wanted for my day.
Emily always started with “what do you wanna do?” She offered her advice and support while always honoring what we chose with enthusiasm and excitement. I felt like I didn’t know half of what I needed to know to plan a wedding but Emily was there giving advice and being our biggest cheerleader!

Emily and her second photographer Emily were absolutely phenomenal! Communication with Emily was quick and clear, and we loved her vibe right from the start! The Emilys not only took amazing photos of the wedding and reception, but they did so in a professional and fun way. Unlike so many wedding photographers we’ve seen that impassionately treat the wedding as another day on the job, Emily and Emily brought enthusiasm and flair, and it was clear they were excited about being part of our big day. Wonderful Photos and an Amazing Experience
I can’t recommend Rooted Image Photography enough! Like most couples, we had to move our wedding due to the pandemic and they were so accommodating and amazing during that process! The day of my wedding I felt so confident in their abilities because they made everybody feel so ease with their professionalism, their demeanor, and their banter (my favorite part!) First I need to say I am so sorry Emily and Joe for taking so long to post this.
If you are looking or in need of a photographer for your wedding please don't look any further. Rooted Imaged Photography is the ONE.
From start to finish they were outstanding. It started off with a zoom consult with Emily where she wanted to know what my expectations were for my wedding regarding my photography. I honestly was at a lost and just knew I needed photos but not sure what kind. She was all over that giving me examples, ideas and encouraging me to check social media/pinterest for ideas. In the end whatever I wanted accomplished (looks, pictures with specific people, first look) they would make it happen.
Rooted Image even did our engagement session. We first had it booked in March of 2020 but covid hit and they were so kind and gracious about needing to reschedule. I think it ended up being rescheduled 3 different times but we settled on a sunrise session in November. The day was perfect and the place Emily suggested was amazing too (the Rose Gardens in Allentown). The photos she took, literally took my breath away. They were perfect. Not to mention Emily was such a trooper because it was freezing out but she was so patient and kind. We even brought our dog Alita to be in a few photos and Emily was so good about getting amazing shots with our short attention span of a pup.
Coming up to the wedding I did have a few "bridezilla moments" I'll admit which Emily handled like a champ and made me feel like all my concerns were important (even if I was being dramatic).
My wedding day was in end of May 2021 and wouldn't you know it was a cold, rainy Pennsylvania day. I was beside myself, slightly disappointed in the weather too, fearing I wouldn't get any photos outside. My wedding was at a Vineyard. Joe and Emily were so positive and reassured me I would get my photos and it would all be so amazing. Well they were right. My photos are AMAZING, and I am not mad at all that it rained or was cold that day.
In the end my only regret is that I didn't have them taking photos til the very end of my wedding. I wish I had because the moments they captured with their incredible photography skills are beyond amazing and it's like I am living in that moment again. If I could go back I would pay whatever I needed to, to have them there all the way through. They are worth every penny.

Emily and Joe were incredibly accommodating to us, they got all of the family photos we wanted (we have a large family so this was no small feat) and really hustled all day to get detail photos, candids, and sunset photos. They worked so well with all of our vendors, friends and family. We are so appreciative of them and felt like we left our wedding with two new friends! -

The most fun and organized
If you’re looking for a wedding photographer look no further. Joe and Emily made our day absolutely phenomenal. The organization, the professionalism, the laughter, the jokes had no limit.
Emily kept the entire day together. Being in other weddings, observing various photographers, none were near as organized as Emily and Joe. Everything went to plan, everything was perfect, solely due to them. Not only were they so organized, we had SO much fun. Emily and Joes energy and love absolutely add to what will be your best day ever. I think we laughed more taking pictures theN we did the rest of the day! Capturing Memories
Wow… Just wow these guys are good. Here a review from a little bit of a different perspective. Like these two wonderful humans, my husband is also a professional photographer as his occupation and has been for many years. So choosing a photographer for our wedding was his job, and he knew it wasn’t going to be easy based on his expectations. He found Rooted Image at a large wedding expo where he was immediately drawn to Emily and her booth. Her display images were beautiful, and her personality was so welcoming. From then on the rest was history, There are 100 pros and 0 cons to our time with Rooted Image, and here is why.
On your wedding day:
1. These two work so well together (makes sense they’re married).
2. Their positivity and helpfulness. it’s something you wouldn’t normally think about, but on one of the biggest days of your life it was huge.
3. Emily is very good at keeping things on schedule. She also warns you if you’re trying to do too much, instead of just being a “yes man”.
4. Word of advice. Give them free reign to take whatever picture they want. We basically said we are your models tell us what to do, and man did the images not disappoint. (They are very creative and it’s a perk of what you are paying for!)
From a technical stand point: (My husband's favorite part)
1. Emily’s tentativeness to create a timeline that works for both parties is great.
2. Image quality is high res and on point.
3. Image focal points are very sharp, and clear.
4. They are very good at framing images properly, and creating great compositions.
5. Emily’s editing style is phenomenal (My husband's main selling point) Why? Their colors are true to what things actually looked like in the moment. They aren’t edited to have a feel like an Instagram filter was laid over them. Those may look cool now, but what about the future? Her colors are true and timeless. They will be great 30, 40, and 50 years from now.
We can’t support these two enough. They were wonderful to work with, and gave us a finished product above our expectations. If you decide to go with Rooted Image for your special day you will not be disappointed! -

First off, let me just start by saying the Emily and Joe are two of the most fun people you could spend 10 hours with. My wife and I went to a bridal show in Allentown and spoke to a few photographers. The following day or two later I received and email from Rooted Image asking to talk about our wedding. We never even spoke to them at the bridal show! From the first time my wife and I spoke to Emily over skype we were sold. She explained to us why she got into wedding photography and it just made me feel like they weren't only trying to run a business but also were doing it because they were passionate about it. Emily did our engagement photos and we spent a few hours together and she made us feel like a friend rather than a client. The planning for the wedding day was such a breeze because of the forms and such she has to help. The day of the wedding they were the easiest people to work with. If my wife wanted a certain photo even though we maybe didn't previously discuss it, Emily and Joe were so on board! I felt bad that weren't able to join in on the festivities of the night as much because they were working because I felt like they were more of our friends. After the wedding we got our photos back pretty quick and they look AMAZING! We even splurged a bit and got a BEAUTIFUL photo album through them. Emily and Joe just did our 5/15 wedding and I couldn’t have been happier! Leading up to the wedding the detail they put in to planning everything was so smooth and helpful. Emily really took the time to plan out all your thoughts and help organize them to be realistic. Day of the wedding they were so much fun! Groom is not a picture person and he even said they made it very easy to get pictures done, even with a larger bridal party. We got our pictures back so fast which was such a nice surprise, and we love them all! Friends, families, and even other vendors love how all our pictures turned out; especially the candid ones! I was highly impressed that they printed out the schedule we discussed with the timeline and the detailed pictures we spoke about. It was nice to know we had another set of eyes to keep everything moving and we were not running super late. Best. Decision. Ever!
Hands down, hiring Emily and Joe as our wedding photographers was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. From beginning to end, they made the entire process run so smoothly. I met Emily and Joe at a bridal expo, but was so bombarded by so many vendors that day that I didn’t think much of it. Wedding photography was a HUGE decision in my book when it came to wedding planning, so I looked into so many different companies and photographers throughout the wedding planning process. Emily personally reached out a few days later and we started a great conversation. After meeting with Emily again, we knew this would be the perfect match! She is personable, funny, and made us both feel comfortable. My husband and I, self-admittedly, can be pretty awkward, especially in front of the camera, so it was important for us to find someone who would make us feel at ease and Emily and Joe were just that! Our engagement photo shoot was amazing and they were both so flexible with scheduling after several bad weather events causing the session to get pushed back a few times.
Prior to the wedding, Emily arranged a whole schedule down to the minute so we could all stay on track. She also had all the information written down with the exact family photos we wanted, small details, and special moments we wanted captured. Their organization was on point and it helped set up the day for success! Emily answered all of my questions ahead of time, offered suggestions, and thought of things that I never would have thought of as a bride.
The day of the wedding, Emily and Joe were on time and ready to go! Joe got set to work right away on capturing all of our details, while Emily stayed with the girls to help capture our “getting ready” moments. An important feature we wanted when booking a wedding photographer was having 2 photographers - one to capture the girls ahead of time and one for the guys ahead of time. Many companies we looked at were either single photographers, or when given 2 people, it was “one person photographs, one person poses people”. This wasn’t the case with Rooted Image… they BOTH shot images all day and it made for the perfect combination! Emily and Joe were great at getting the perfect shots without feeling like they were intruding or interrupting the flow of the night. So many of our guests commented about how amazing and friendly our photographers were both during and after the wedding. The entire bridal party got along so well with both Emily and Joe. By the end of the night, it felt like we were all friends… not client and vendor. Even after the wedding, Emily stayed in touch with sneak peek photos and updates about the editing process. As an added bonus, we got our photographs back way earlier than we had predicted! The quality of Emily and Joe’s photos are crisp, clear, and natural. Every single detail is perfect quality!
Overall, I cannot say enough amazing things about Emily and Joe from Rooted Image Photography. This wife-husband duo team is exactly what you need for your perfect day! We can’t even begin to imagine our special day without them. I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone for engagement or wedding photography needs. Emily and Joe made us feel like their only clients, and always made us feel important and like a priority, even during such a busy wedding season (and believe me, they were super busy!!). I very rarely write reviews, and definitely not this lengthy of a review, but this amazing experience with Rooted Image definitely warrants such a review! Emily and Joe, thank you for making our wedding day dreams come true! We have amazing photographs that will help us remember this day for the rest of our lives. You are THE BEST!

We can't thank Emily and Joe enough for what they did to make our wedding day go so smoothly. oh gosh where to start with this amazing husband and wife team?! As a follow photographer I couldnt trust just anyone to take my wedding photos. I meet Joe at a wedding showcase and we talked a little. I ended up winning a raffle they were having so I though I would meet up with them. Rooted Image Photography was without a doubt the best vendor we had at our September 2019 wedding. They were a huge help in our planning process from beginning to end. Emily goes out of her way to make sure that all your questions are answered and that you are 100% happy with their service. My now husband and I are both kind of awkward people when it came to taking pictures, but Emily and Joe made us feel so comfortable the entire time and our pictures turned out amazing!
I think the relationship between Emily and Joe really makes Rooted Image Photography so great. It works out perfectly to have Emily follow you and your girls around and Joe to follow the groom and his guys around. It makes the flow of the entire day go smoothly. Seeing Emily and Joe’s chemistry together is so great and having two photographers made it great to have different angles of the ceremony and reception! Devon and I were so nervous that we were not going to have enough time to take all the pictures during cocktail hour as we did not have a first look with each other. But, Emily and Joe had planned the day out so efficiently that there wasn’t one minute wasted. They went above and beyond our expectations, and they go out of their way to ensure that you are happy with the different settings and style of your photographs. Pure awesomeness.
Emily and Joe, a husband and wife rockstar photography team, took our engagement and wedding photos. They both have an amazing eye for different angles and styles, especially for a couple that is NOT confident or natural in front of a camera!! They always made us feel great and coached us through each step. The previews of our wedding photos are spectacular. Emily is only one text away if I have questions, requests, etc, even after the wedding has passed. I am extremely impressed with their professionalism, attention to detail, willingness to try new things, create and follow a very strict wedding day timeline, and ability to laugh along with us :)

My husband and I got engaged 1/1/2017 and the very first thing we did was secure our photographer! We found Rooted Image Photography at a bridal show in Philadelphia and I AM SOO HAPPY we booked them.
Joe and Emily are an amazing husband/wife duo and did both our engagement photos and our wedding photos.
When we were selecting our engagement shoot location, Emily was very understanding regarding what we were looking for. She gave us several options and worked with us to provide us something special. On the day of the shoot, Joe and Emily were very relaxed, made us laugh, and we didn't feel nervous at all. Our photos turned out great and we were able to use them all over our wedding website and the save the dates.
closer to the wedding date - 10/20/2018, Emily reaches out and finalizes all of the details. She provides a very detailed excel sheet with based off the final survey you are required to fill out. I LOVED this. It helped me visualize what the date would look like and so glad she helps do a lot of the heavy thinking. On the day of, Joe and Emily are very prompt and work to fit as many photos (plus extras!) as they can. BLESS their souls as they tried keeping me on schedule. They kept me and my party moving along and kept the schedule on track. I don't know how I could have gotten through the day without them. Towards the end they told me we were running behind and worked with my DJ and videographer to get the last of the "planned activities" into the final 15 minutes. I didn't even notice what was going on! It was amazing.
After the wedding, Emily keeps in touch and all of the photos were completed in about 1 month. Even during the honeymoon she texted me a handful of photos as a sneak peek. We felt so spoiled and felt Rooted Image is worth every single penny. We loved all of our photos and glad they caught so many good moments.

I can't even describe how amazing Emily and Joe are! We met them at a bridal show in Reading, PA and could tell they would be amazing just by their personalities and we booked them almost immediately. Not only were they amazing to work with but they were fair priced and accommodating. They were very easy to get a hold of and they stick with you every step of the way, even give advice, which is perfect for anyone who was lost like myself when it came to planning. It felt like they were part of our family and they were very sweet. All the photos they took came out beautifully and they seems to catch all the best moments that left me wondering “how on earth they managed to get that”. During the whole wedding from start to finish, they made sure we were happy and caught ever important moment, even the moments I didn’t realize I wanted. I loved how Joe was able to be with the men while Emily stayed with the girls, it made it that no moments were lost!
The wait time for the photos after the wedding was practically nothing. I got them so quickly I was surprised. Emily messaged me the day she was going to have the photos ready. I easily received them and their website was very easy to navigate. They even have plenty of options to buy prints from them! She messaged me the same day to see if I was happy with my photos and of course I was! Every photo from the rings to the partying were perfect!

They made the day seamless and their pictures were breathtaking. They made the 91 degree day with 90% humidity enjoyable to stand and take pictures as long as we needed to. We laughed the whole time and would highly recommend them for anyone looking for wedding or special occasion photography.

Sean Sent on 07/02/2018I didn't make Emily and Joe's job very easy. I got married on Saturday, June 9th. Don't bother looking up the weather -- it was sunny and it was hot. I had a charcoal suit and a dark purple (midnight plum my wife calls it) shirt so suffice to say, I was HOT. With the midday sun beating down on us, I'll admit that I did rush Emily and Joe. Despite that, our photos turned out absolutely gorgeous. I have no idea how they did it but they knew the perfect spots, the perfect angles, and they did everything in their power to make us comfortable.
When it came to the reception, I had a few surprises in store for my guests and even one for my wife. It did not even occur to me that I should warn the photographers. (Sorry!) They rolled with the punches and took amazing photos on the fly, not always aware of what was going to happen.
On a personal note, I'll say that I don't get married often. Once and done, never again! I write that to illustrate that I do not have much experience with wedding photography so I cannot say if this is par for the course but these two are so personable that the entire time they felt like friends. I had only met Joe on the day of the wedding but it felt like the two were longtime friends who were helping us out on our big day. It did not seem like a business transaction at all. They seemed to be as invested in our wedding as we were and I think that shows in how they busted both their butts the entire day being all over the place taking countless photos. They've kept in contact even after delivering all of our photos and that isn't something I expected when hiring a vendor -- but it's very appreciated.
As far as price goes, we quoted several photographers and saw prices as high as $5,000. Rooted Image was on the more affordable end of the spectrum but at no point did I feel like we had cut corners. My wife and I were both remarkably pleased with both our engagement and wedding photographs and would recommend them again and again. -

Brandie Sent on 05/01/2018no review could be enough to express how much my fiancee(Now Husband) have loved, Loved, LOVED working with Emily and Joe. Photographs are so important to me so our photographer was a huge decision. after our first consult i had no doubt i wanted them to cover our wedding. we had our engagement photos done with them as well as our wedding and I thought the engagement photos were impressive...the WEDDING OMG!!! i dont know how they can be everywhere at one time to capture every special, emotional, funny, exciting moment. we received TONS of comments from our guests as well saying how impressed they were with our photographers! the photos they got are STUNNING!! my husband is very awkward with photos and for him he loved that that they make you feel so comfortable about everything and how enthusiastic they are about their work! my only disappointment is that (fingers crossed) i only get married once so i cant have more and more and more photos by them! guarantee anytime we need a photographer from here on out Emily and Joe will be our first choice.
