    Beautiful experience!

I’ve had the opportunity to host three showers at RCC. My experience was wonderful each time! They are very professional, easy to work with, and definitely go above and beyond. Not to mention the food and presentation are excellent! I highly recommend hosting an event at this historical facility with a beautiful and serene, setting!

    A dream day!

We had a wonderful experience hosting our wedding reception at Rockford Country Club on 9/23/23. The setting is absolutely beautiful and timeless without feeling stuffy. While our ceremony was held at a nearby church, we held our cocktail hour in the ballroom…high ceilings, two fireplaces, plenty of space. The Club also allowed guests out on the back deck which overlooks the river. Dinner was held in the main dining room which is quite lovely and cozy with windows across one entire side of the room, also overlooking the river. The entire club is at a higher elevation, so the views are actually quite sweeping. We had about 150 guests, but you could easily have more or less and the space would still work. The wedding coordinators, Chris and Stephanie, were super patient and responsive to all of our questions and requests. They definitely took care to make sure our day went smoothly. The venue was very flexible and accommodating with all of our ideas from big to small – they even allowed us to land a helicopter as our grand entrance! The pricing is very reasonable and transparent…they don’t nickel and dime you for every little thing. Guests are still raving about how good the food and drinks were…we offered filet, chicken, and salmon as plated options. The meat seemed to be cooked perfectly, which is rare at a wedding and difficult to pull off for a big event. They offered us a food and drink tasting a few months prior to the event, and the chef even came out to speak with us that day and was so kind. They allowed us to bring in our own cake and desserts which we ordered from EK Cakery in town. The best part was that everyone made us feel like our event was important and special, and we weren’t just another wedding/couple on a never-ending list. It was a perfect venue for us and a memorable celebration!

    Rockford Country Club Wedding Reception

We had the priviledge of having our wedding reception at Rockford Country Club with the option of hosting our guests in their elegant dining room, or on their beautiful outdoor deck overlooking the river and golf course. With the weather being nice on our wedding day the accommodating team at Rockford Country Club set up our reception outside on the deck.

From the moment we arrived the Rockford Country Club team was remarkably professional and courteous. Their team was the perfect mix of attentive when we needed them and invisible when we didn't. The food was delicious, prepared exactly as planned, and served efficiently, comfortably, and gracefully.

Our top request of the Rockford Country Club management was to have a fun wedding night with a casual and easy going feel in their elegant atmosphere. Their team was able to capture this by allowing the night and schedule to take shape how we wanted it to, but being attentive and responsive. We asked them to prioritize a joyful evening over a perfect evening but Rockford Country Club gave us both!

The club manager Chris Magdziarz represented her club and led her team with a calm kindness and grace that made our whole experience simple and fun from the early planning stages through the last dance of our wedding night. I am so grateful for Ms. Magdziarz, her team, and the club for making our wedding day vision a reality.

My recommendation of the Rockford Country Club venue, leadership, and team would be the highest I can offer.

    50th Anniversary Brunch

Chris and her staff are fabulous! The customer service was above and beyond what was required. The food for our brunch was outstanding. We had a great variety and plenty of food for our party of approximately 90 people. You will not regret having your party at Rockford country club.

    Fabulous wedding at RCC!!

Rockford County Club was a wonderful venue for my daughter's wedding in January 2022. RCC is a classic venue with views overlooking the Rock River from the bar and the dining room. We were able to utilize the ballroom for the wedding ceremony, our cocktail hour was held in the bar room overlooking the river with plenty of seating, the outside deck was available although it was quite cold. The reception in the dining room was beautiful and again the river views there too were amazing! The appetizers, and steak and chicken entrees were delicious, and the service was perfect. We received many compliments from guests regarding how good the food was. Lorie and Stephanie as Rockford Country Club coordinators were a pleasure to work with, they answered all of our many questions from a year away from the wedding all the way up to the event. Their coordination with the DJ made everything run smoothly on my daughter's big day. The venue fees at RCC were very reasonable compared to other venues in the area, and the service, meals, and wedding spaces in the country club were outstanding. I am so glad we chose to work with Rockford Country Club for our daughter's wedding.

    Couldn't Be Happier

Every single guest said they had never seen such a beautiful wedding. Being right on the water and having an outdoor ceremony was absolutely stunning. Lorie was so helpful every step of the way. We booked Rockford Country Club a month before our wedding due to Covid and without Lorie none of it would have been possible. 10/10 would recommend.

Our wedding reception went flawlessly thanks to the wonderful staff at the Country Club. Our event planner and her crew were wonderful in every aspect of the wedding process. If you want a ceremony or a reception with beautiful views of the Rock River and the class of a country club, then this is the place for you. Thank you again for an unforgettable wedding!!

Everything was done with such professionalism. The service and the food was excellent. I didn't have to worry about a thing. They were so accommodating. The venue was an excellent backdrop with the view of the Rock river and outside patio for guests to enjoy the nice weather. I would recommend to anyone.

I was extremely please with Rockford Country Club being our vendor. Patrick was very helpful, responded quickly to any emails and met with my husband and I several times prior to the wedding to make sure everything was in order. They did our catering and we had a lovely food tasting prior to choosing our menu and the food tasted just as incredible on the day of our wedding. Their services were wonderful, staff was polite and helpful and everything went perfectly without a hitch. They have a beautiful banquet room and ballroom that we used as well as a deck that overlooks the Rock River. I could not have been happier with this venue and would definitely recommend it to others. Patrick and RCC were very flexible when we had to change the date of our wedding and the prices were definitely reasonable. Overall I was very happy with our venue!

The space was wonderful, however, there were many mistakes made regarding billing. Also, when we tried to return the next day to pick up decorations, we were not let in, also many things were lost that were left at the club such as cards, cameras, and even the cake stand that the baker loaned us for use. Overall, make sure everything is in writing, that you double, even triple-check the statements that they bill you, and make sure that you do not leave anything behind, as it will most likely get lost.

    Sadly, not a good experience.

It makes me sad to write this review, because I don't want to have to say this... but I cannot recommend the Rockford Country Club as a wedding venue.  The space is beautiful, and the staff working there were professional and courteous.  In most respects, we had a great wedding.  Behind the scenes though, it was a nightmare- and it didn't have to be.  You don't want this stress as part of your wedding.
When we booked the venue, RCC was managed by a wonderful woman who answered all our questions and made herself constantly available to us.  It was very clear she had done this many times before, understood our fears, and was easily able to answer the questions we didn't even know we were really asking.  Planning a winter wedding during an ever-changing pandemic was very stressful, but she was so great that we decided to not hire a wedding planner.  Then, a month before the wedding, she accepted another job and we were left in the hands of the remaining RCC management to coordinate the wedding.
From that point forward, they consistently failed to meet expectations.  And, really, what made it all the worse was their complete refusal to acknowledge their mistakes.  We were constantly left questioning: did that really just happen? is that a big deal? are we wrong for asking about this? we didn't ask for that, did we?
Let me give you an example.  Our new coordinator offered to play the piano for our ceremony, which we were very appreciative of.  But I was very clear with her that, especially because there was a young child involved in the ceremony, we needed her there for our rehearsal.  She agreed.  Then, when we arrived for our rehearsal the night before the wedding (as planned) at 5:30, she was mysteriously absent.  Her assistant was surprised when we asked where she was and we were ultimately told she would not be coming.  They insisted there was never a plan to play the piano at the rehearsal.  But then, after the wedding, when we brought it up to the coordinator and asked what happened, she told us she in fact had come that evening to play the piano at our rehearsal, that WE were late, and THAT's why she left.  She was very indignant when she told us she was there at 5, waited for us, and when we didn't arrive on time, she left.  Surprisingly, her attitude did not change when we showed her the itinerary and correspondence clearly indicating our rehearsal was at 5:30.  Even at that point, she did not apologize.  Now, let me be clear, she played the piano at the ceremony and it was beautiful and it was what we asked for.  But that experience being told WE had somehow made that mistake and that it was OUR fault left such a sour taste in our mouth, especially the more we thought about it.  We started to wonder, if what she said was true about being there when she thought she was supposed to meet us, did she really just get up and leave without even attempting to call us?  If an entire wedding party is missing from a rehearsal the night before the wedding, wouldn't you check that they were alright?  Wouldn't you feel some responsibility over the event?  And if she really was there, how was it that her assistant knew to meet us at 5:30?  Did they not discuss the rehearsal at all with each other?  Did she not so much as tell her assistant she was leaving when she thought we were late?  This is all before considering that, when we arrived, the piano was already being used in another room for another event.  What we were ultimately left with was the overwhelming feeling that we had been misled when, really, a simple apology would have been fine.  But instead, they attempted to scold us that she had been playing piano for 30 years and did not need to rehearse the songs anyway.  And maybe that's most illustrative of the problem we kept having with them.  They had zero understanding that her presence at our rehearsal was for us, not for her.  They didn't care.  From the start with them, we were treated as a burden and a leftover obligation they were ready to be done with.
It probably won't surprise you that each phase of our dinner (except the appetizers) was wrong.  Our guests got the wrong salad.  The entrees were both incorrect and not cooked right; multiple guests had to send their food back and every guest who ordered shrimp got the wrong kind.  The desserts were not what we paid for.  The cake was not what we agreed on.  Throughout the night, multiple staff members personally apologized to us for the lack of planning or direction.  This was particularly frustrating because we knew these things had been planned, prior to the change in management.  And again, when we brought them up after the wedding to the management, they rolled their eyes, turned up their noses, and couldn't understand why we were upset that we did not get the food we paid them for.  In fact, we were told we were lucky to get the food at the prices we did because of inflation (more on that later).  Crazy.
In our meeting following the wedding, my husband and I had to go through the indignity of debating whether coconut shrimp was the same as skewered shrimp was the same as crab-stuffed shrimp.  At the end of the day, getting that wrong doesn't make our break a wedding.  Refusing to accept any fault for any mistake, however, does break trust.  In our case, that broken trust sadly turned out to be a good thing because it caused us to double check the bill...  Yup, you guessed it, they overcharged us hundreds of dollars for food that was part of our package.  When confronted with that.. let's call it an "error".. we had to actually pull up their brochure to show them their prices.  Crazy.
I want to be clear, no one working the wedding did a bad job.  We really liked the staff.  They treated our vendors well, and worked very well with them.  They exhibited the class and professionalism that was so obviously lacking from their bosses.  They actually apologized.
We loved our wedding, and maybe dealing with this even brought my husband and I closer haha.  But they lied to us, and then lied about lying to us.  No bride deserves that on their wedding day.  Not from her groom, and definitely not from her venue.    LOL, crazy.
