Made Our Winter Wedding PERFECT!
I couldn't possibly express how much we loved working with Gretchen and her team. We had such an amazing experience, every planning and design meeting was a blast and felt like we were just out chatting with one of our best friends instead of making huge decisions that would significantly impact our wedding.
The design Gretchen meticulously put together was unimaginably gorgeous and so perfectly captured the aesthetic we both dreamt of for a winter wedding. We wanted to lean into our love of the season without dragging out anything reminiscent of the holiday season. Gretchen did miss a single detail along the way, everything was thought of, communicated, planned-for, handled, and executed perfectly.
Gretchen brought with her so much knowledge of the wedding landscape in the Twin Cities and expertly guided us through every decision, from venue to caterer down to glassware and flatware. We had specific desires, especially regarding arguably minute details. We ended up with exactly what we wanted, every single time.
Beyond all of that amazing work, having Gretchen there on the day of our wedding was priceless. Everything was exactly where it needed to be, exactly when it needed to be there. It was important to us that our wedding be well-executed and that our guests be wowed by the event. It's been over three months and it's still the first thing everyone brings up when we talk.
I wish it was possible to communicate how thrilled we are that we chose to work with Gretchen and the Rocket Science team. They are truly one of the biggest reasons our wedding was the single best day we've ever had.I couldn't possibly express how much we loved working with Gretchen and her team. My husband and I chose Rocket Science Weddings and Events to help on the day of our wedding because we wanted our family and friends to be guests (rather than have responsibilities) on our special day. This was, by far, one of the best planning decisions we made! Shorey Tuetken was absolutely fantastic!! I enjoy planning, so we hired her only for "day of" services, but she dedicated far more time than just the day of the event. We met multiple times in the months leading up to the event so that she could make sure she understood my “vision” and make a plan for an efficient execution the day of the wedding. She was open-minded, organized, very flexible, had great suggestions when I ran into planning hurdles, and a delight to work with. Rocket Science was worth every penny! We were able to relax, have fun, and enjoy our guests rather than worry about details. Rocket Science weddings is the main reason why my wedding was the perfect day! I got married last May and for the year of our engagement, my job became crazy. I was working all of the time and did not have much time to plan a wedding. Gretchen and her team were so helpful to make sure that every detail was in order and designed the wedding of our dreams. She listened to our story, what we envisioned for our wedding and understood my dilemma with timing. She had me be as involved or uninvolved as I wanted, making it such an enjoyable planning experience. Also, Rocket Science will literally find a way to make ANY type of dream wedding. My husband and I are both very casual and wanted a huge party for our wedding- she helped design and recreate the bar we met at complete with smashed peanuts on the ground, craft beer and a polka band for our cocktail reception. For us, this was perfect! And on the other side of the spectrum she made a beautiful romantic ceremony and awesome family style dinner for the reception. I cannot rave about them enough and I am so glad I had them on my side for my big day. Every detail was taken care of- I got to enjoy all of planning and my big day! Gretchen and her team at Rocket Science made our wedding a relatively stress-free experience. I honestly cannot imagine how our wedding/reception would've turned out without them. Gretchen's great vendor recommendations, detailed planning of the events leading up to the big day and an hourly schedule for the day of the wedding allowed us to easily communicate with vendors, friends and family. Gretchen's planning and execution takes the anxiety and uncertainty out of the wedding experience for you and your family.Gretchen and her team at Rocket Science made our wedding a relatively stress-free experience. Gretchen came to the table with a billion unique ideas and helped me shape my own ideas into a cohesive and beautiful event. Gretchen and her assistants took care of everything for us the day of, including set up and tear down, she was also our officiant and created a individual and meaningful ceremony for us. I spent my entire wedding day relaxed and focused on my husband and my family and friends because she took care of all of the logistics. She kept us on time, helped get people were they needed to be, made sure everything was set up and ready to go. I would highly recommend Gretchen and her company, even if it's just for day of services - I believe 100% that if I didn't have Gretchen helping me plan my wedding and organizing my day it would have not have turned out so perfectly. I had a fairly small wedding (about 70 guests) so i did not need a lot of help, but I had everything I needed. Gretchen had a list of vendors to choose from (the ones I went with were fantastic) and her experience helped her know how to help me transfer my wedding day vision into a reality. She was able to anticipate what would be needed and help me address all of my guests and my needs.
Gretchen was amazing with our flowers and was somehow able to make my ramblings into something beautiful and perfect.
She also served as our officiant and did a phenomenal job! Many people resist investing in a planner because of the cost. I just need to tell everyone out there: I guarantee hiring Gretchen will be the best money you will spend in terms of wedding expenses! Not only is she amazingly creative with both planning the details and her floral arrangements, but she also understands how to work with what you have. Josh and I made the 2nd most important decision of our wedding by hiring her! (The most important decision, of course, was saying 'I do'!) Gretchen turned my dream wedding into reality. She had great suggestions for everything from the DJ to the decorations to the table cards. She thought of many little details that I would have overlooked if I was doing it myself. Gretchen is so friendly, fun and easy to work with. She is truly exceptional at what she does. My love and I found each other in midlife. We imagined a small but meaningful ceremony, and I was determined to also have an amazing dance party for my ever-faithful friends. Since my husband and I are both physician-scientists with busy and unpredictable work (and then I broke my leg in 2 places 7 months before our wedding), we quickly realized that we needed practical help with planning our wedding - but only if we could find someone creative and real, not just someone organized and connected. Through a very lucky series of clicks, I found the Rocket Science Weddings and Events website. Gretchen Culver and her team were amazing from start to finish. First, Gretchen listened and helped us clarify our priorities, then referred us to trusted and equally cool and talented vendors. Every pick was perfect: the gorgeous flowers by Pearls and Lace, the amazing photos by Becca Dilley, the sassy and artistic makeup artist Wendy Zarate, the very fun and insightful DJ Jason Hanson, the kind and eloquent officiant Susan Lee-Wright. Gretchen's help and guidance gave me the space to make silly embossed heart-cupcake flags with friends, spend non-frantic time with my fiancee, think about music and vows - and most importantly, be present on my wedding day to experience the miracle of finding my love and the fun of celebrating our marriage with our closest family and friends. Gretchen from Rocket Science Weddings and Events did the design work and florals for my wedding ceremony and reception and I don't know how I would have done it without her! I was planning my wedding from out of state and only had a chance to meet with Gretchen a couple times in person before the big day but she was able to capture everything I wanted from my wedding and more just from those few encounters. She designed her concepts around my husband and I's personalities, style and the spaces we'd chosen for our wedding and reception. During our subsequent phone calls, she put together a visual proposal that helped me to see her vision and the two of us built upon that vision to create a wedding that really reflected the style and elements I wanted. She understood our budget and was able to customize the program to fit it. On our wedding day, she was professional and flexible. She kept me sane as a bride throughout the process and put together an amazing, unique setting for our big day. She designed her concepts around my husband and I's personalities, style and the spaces we'd chosen for our wedding and reception. During our subsequent phone calls, she put together a visual proposal that helped me to see her vision and the two of us built upon that vision to create a wedding that really reflected the style and elements I wanted. She understood our budget and was able to customize the program to fit it. On our wedding day, she was professional and flexible. She kept me sane as a bride throughout the process and put together an amazing, unique setting for our big day. I got so many complements on the decor, flowers and personal touches. -

We were referred to Gretchen with Rocket Science Weddings & Events for wedding planning for our destination wedding last fall, and she was extremely helpful in managing the wedding process. We knew we needed a planner, because we needed help both with design ideas as well as project management, and Gretchen handled both.
She sent emails letting us know what we needed to do and what was coming up, and she worked with our schedules to make sure we on top of making decisions, meetings we needed to have, and vendor contracts & payments. She also provided great ideas and feedback for colors, invitation design, flowers, etc. She gave us an idea book that was beautiful and right in line with what we were wanting for our wedding.
Even though in our agreement with her, we planned to have only Gretchen come to the Bahamas and help with the wedding, she went an extra step and brought an assistant at no charge to us to help out. The second person, Laura, was invaluable. Now that the wedding is over, I have no idea what would have happened if we didn't have Gretchen (and Laura) work on our wedding. They organized our vendors, managed schedules, and Gretchen even helped us after the wedding was over with final vendor considerations.

Gretchen Culver of Rocket Science Weddings and Events made our day special in so many ways. From our very first meeting, she showed keen ability to grasp who we are, what we're about, and our quirky creative aesthetic. She respected that we came to the table with our own ideas and design concepts, and she worked to enhance and complement them rather than asserting some other agenda. The ideaboard she created really got us excited about the possibilities for our event design, and it was so fun to creatively play off her ideas. She thinks outside the box while respecting our wishes and traditions. She has all the characteristics of a great coordinator: Artistry, patience, flexibility, assertiveness, tact, resourcefulness, good humor, and showed these qualities throughout our planning process. We hired her for day-of services, but she was with us every step of the way during our planning, which was essential to the success of our wedding day.
Our day went very smoothly with very few wrinkles that we were ever aware of. I appreciated their on-the-fly creative problem solving. For example, it was too hot of a day to light the fireplace in our reception hall. Instead, they placed our illuminated glassware on the hearth for a decorative twist. She and her assistant Laura worked hard behind the scenes without ever trying to take credit for their own hard work - they just tried to make sure we looked and felt good all day!
