Prime location and space to be creative

Rock Creek Mansion is a great reception spot for those seeking a location convenient to downtown Bethesda that is more personal than a hotel or country club. The reception hall comfortably held our party of around 130. The space is flexible to your vision and can be dressed up or down. The standard bar menu is somewhat limited, but they are willing to take special requests if you have particular beer or wine you would prefer. The ability to use Rock Creek’s preferred vendors or your own was a nice feature (and I would recommend looking into both their list and other vendors before making a decision). Julie (coordinator) was easy to work with and supportive throughout the process. The house manager spent time helping my family pack up after the event, even though it wasn’t officially part of his job.

Perfect Venue for Our Wedding Reception

Rock Creek Mansion was the perfect venue for our wedding reception! We had a wonderful experience working with Julie, who was always very responsive, helpful, friendly and accommodating. We had a walk-through with Julie and a couple other vendors a month before the event, which was super helpful. We were able to reserve extra time for building access so I could get ready with my bridesmaids in the bridal suite upstairs. The beverage agreement options were very reasonable, the service was great, and we were even able to have an after party in the Knights of Columbus bar downstairs. We’re really glad we went with Rock Creek Mansion for our reception venue and we definitely recommend them!

Unbeatable Bethesda venue!

We got married at Rock Creek Mansion on June 23, 2018. It was a gorgeous summer day that was only made better by our reception at RCM. 135 guests enjoyed a cocktail hour outside, and comfortably dined and danced inside. Julie and her team at RCM made wedding planning such a breeze. Julie was always there to answer my questions and provided many recommendations. The decor at RCM is neutral, which makes it easy to accommodate numerous styles. You also cannot beat the price especially considering the location. We loved celebrating our wedding at Rock Creek Mansion and would recommend it to anyone!

Wonderful wedding experience and setting

We had a wonderful stress-free planning experience with Rock Creek Mansion and Julie Carter. Lots of room for dancing, buffet, great bar area and grounds. Reasonable pricing for a lovely place.

Our wedding was amazing! Rock creek Mansion is such a nice place. It has a good space that is not divided and it makes everyone part of the celebration. Miss Julie is very responsive, such a nice person and gives you ideas/options when you are running out of it. She was very helpful.

This was a great place for a wedding reception. The staff was very helpful and made sure we had nothing to stress about. They worked well with our Caterer, Florist, Wedding Cake set up and DJ we used. The upstairs room for the Bride and her party worked out very well. We had our after party at their Bar downstairs and everyone enjoyed themselves. They are reasonable priced for everything.

This is a great place for an event. My daughter's wedding reception was held here and it was a wonderful experience. Rock Creek Mansion's event coordinator, Julie Buckingham Carter, was very helpful and flexible to meet our needs. They do one event per day so you don't have to worry about having other events crowding you out (we were able to do our set up at a time which was easiest for us -- which you may not get at another site). We used both indoor and outdoor space for one extremely reasonable price. This site is in Bethesda, Maryland which is a very expensive area, but this beautiful place is very reasonable priced (we paid $3890 for 5 hours plus 2 hour setup). I would highly recommend having an event here and would definitely use it again. Very nice place and very nice people working there.

We used Rock Creek Mansion for our May wedding reception. We had toured several sites in the area but knew this was the right fit for the value, size, and different spaces we could use. Julie, the events coordinator, was another big reason we picked Rock Creek because she was so sweet, helpful, and easy to work with. She met with us several times including with both of our moms so they could see the space. We were also able to drop off decor the day before the wedding, which was super helpful. I also appreciated their list of suggested caterers, because we were able to find the fantastic Simply Fresh, and they knew the space and Julie very well which made everything smoother. The ballroom really is a blank canvas that you can transform to meet your needs. We fit around ~100 guests very comfortably and had a good sized dance floor. We used their tables (but rented different chairs), which saved us money as well. The back yard is also beautiful; we planned for our cocktail hour to be out on the patio with a tent, but because of stormy weather it had to be partially inside. We were also able to do bridal party portraits in the back yard. The location is also nice in that it has ample parking and is very close to hotels and downtown Bethesda. Thank you for helping us host our wedding reception!

I really could not rate or recommend Rock Creek Mansion any higher. Julie and Mike are fantastic to work with, professional and caring, open to our suggestion and very helpful with suggestions. W had only a few days to plan a memorial service for my husband, and they not only came through for us in a million little ways, but helped us truly make the event a celebration of his life. The setting is spectacular, and the atmosphere was exactly want we hoped to create. At such a challenging time, knowing we did not have to worry about one detail meant the world. I cannot thank them enough.

Rock Creek Mansion had the perfect mix of outdoor fun and indoor tradition for our son's bar mitzvah! He wanted a lawn party, while we wanted DJ dancing and cover from the rain. RCM fit that bill beautifully! The patio was elegant under a tent and allowed guests the option of remaining outside even when a bit of rain moved through. The indoor reception space looked festive and there was plenty of room for guests to mingle, dance and move about. The staff was reliable, very responsive and helpful at every point of the process. It was absolutely PERFECT for our event!!

We had our rehearsal dinner at the Rock Creek Mansion. The staff was very easy to work with and did a great job. Julie at the Rock Creek helped coordinate our event and it went perfectly.

This was a great space for our corporate event that was partial business meeting and partial reception. Rock creek was very flexible with our use of space and overall a wonderful value for our money. Our guests were all very pleased with the space and so were we!

Our wedding at Rock Creek Mansion was fabulous! Julie was really helpful and responsive. She even allowed our dogs to participate in the outdoor ceremony. The value was great and the garden was perfect for taking photos and having lawn games. I was a little worried about the road noise during the ceremony, but it wasn't a problem at all. Overall, I highly recommend it!

Rock Creek Mansion was our venue of choice for our wedding on Sunday, May 6, 2018. Julie Carter and staff were very cordial and professional in their manner. The outside is beautiful. The inside is warm. We had 85 guests and there was ample room. Everyone had a great time. I would highly recommend Rock Creek Mansion for any special or life event!

The venue was a great location for our reception. Julie and her team helped us with the vendors to ensure that our vision was captured. She accommodated our visits beforehand, so we could ensure that everyone was on the same page. Her recommendations on vendors were also really helpful. This truly is a hidden gem in Bethesda. With the neutral colors of the venue, it was easy to use any color in decorating that we wanted.

We had an amazing experience with RCM for our October wedding. You get so much bang for your buck here and Julie and all of the staff are so kind, thoughtful, professional, knowledgable, and responsive. Julie Carter got back to me immediately and was so sweet! She went above and beyond to help me find a venue. Unfortunately, my date was unavailable to use their location. But I know if I had, Julie would have helped make my wedding day everything I would want it to be. She even extended a helping hand into seeing if there were other venues in my area she could recommend to me which I would not have expected any venue to do. I was floored by the excellent customer service she provided!

Rock Creek Mansion is absolutely gorgeous and it was the perfect place for our 90-person wedding. We had the ceremony outside on the side lawn (so pretty!) and the reception inside, on October 29, 2016. Julie Carter, the venue coordinator, was so helpful from our first walkthrough to the final walkthrough to the actual day of the wedding. She helped us come up with a layout that worked really well and had great suggestions for vendors. The bartenders, contracted through the venue, were professional and quick, and accommodated our (advance) request for Shirley Temples with lots of cherries. The weather was perfect, so we were able to make use of the cute bistro tables and chairs on the patio. We would highly recommend this venue for anyone looking for an indoor/outdoor wedding venue.

If you see an opening - book it fast! Amazing value for the price. Staff was hugely helpful, and really made my wedding day special! I completely trusted Julie, and she really helped me put the finishing touches, and had a ready made list of excellent vendors to choose from. Couldn't have pulled it off without Julie and her amazing staff!

Rock Creek Mansion was a fabulous place for my daughters January wedding reception. The entry way to the venue is very pretty with a curvy staircase, which also made the perfect exit for the bride and groom. The bar area is very cozy with the fireplace. The large reception room was the perfect size for our 150 guests to be seated and still have room for a dance floor. Julie from Rock Creek was super and very accommodating. She worked well with our caterers, also. I highly recommend this place.

On 10/3/2015 we had our second Bar Mitzvah reception held at Rock Creek Mansion in a two year period. On both occasions we worked with Julie Buckingham Carter, a true professional. Everything went smooth on both occasions with no flaws. Julie and the RCM staff were a delight and easy to work with to create a great party at the Mansion. We had our reception at Rock Creek Mansion and were very pleased! It was a beautiful day, so the patio area and furniture were great for cocktail hour. We had 125 guests and we comfortably fit, even with a large space for a dance floor and a photobooth station. The alcohol options are not bad and at a decent price, and they allowed us to substitute some different beers and wines from their list. The inside is neutral and can work well with whatever color scheme you are going for. I thought that for the location and amenities, Rock Creek is reasonably priced.

We loved the Rock Creek Mansion. It is the perfect size to have a big party yet make it feel like a warm intimate gathering. Julie and her staff are great to work with!

We had a wonderful experience using Rock Creek Mansion for our daughter's bat mitzvah. The manager, Julie, was extremely engaged and responsive throughout the planning process and did a beautiful job coordinating with our caterer, dj and photographer. The weather cooperated with us and the back patio provided a large area for adults to socialize away from the music and for kids to run around. Can't say enough good things about our experience.

I want to start out to say Thank you to Julie and Mike for allowing us to have our wedding at the Rock Creek Mansion. It was an absolutely beautiful day and we will always cherish their help for letting us have an amazing wedding.

We chose Rock Creek Mansion because it was just a beautiful venue it really is a hided gem in Bethesda because my husband and I had no it idea it was there!

Julie is the wedding coordinator and was amazing from beginning to end she always answered her emails promptly for us and always offered her input to make sure our planning was much easier.

Mike was with us the day of the wedding and he was amazing and very attentive. He was quick to get things done without hesitation. He help set up that day as well.

We both cannot thank them enough for making our day unforgettable. Everyone was complimenting about the beautiful lawn and the venue itself.

You will not be disappointed to have your wedding at RockCreek Mansion please check them out!!!

Rock Creek Mansion hosted our post-wedding party in August 2013 and the manager was very accommodating and helpful throughout the planning process. The venue is large and well maintained. It didn't need a lot of decoration in my opinion and we didn't do much. There's a beautiful patio, but we didn't use it because it would have thinned out our party if some guests were outside. The kitchen was large, easily accessible and had everything our caterer needed. There's a private parking lot behind the mansion that really adds value. We ran out of space eventually but plenty of guests were able to park for free and walk right in.

The venue was perfect for a May wedding and we were very happy and lucky that the weather cooperated completely. The ceremony was outdoors on the large and nicely landscaped grounds. The guests enjoyed starters on the patio then moved to the spacious and beautiful ballroom for lunch and dancing. We had about 100 people and the space and acoustics were excellent. Julie, the event coordinator at the Mansion, could not have been more helpful. Based on her extensive experience with event planning and the venue, she worked with us closely to make sure we would be happy with the outcome. She drew up the room plans with indoor and outdoor ceremony options. She met with us and all the vendors to make sure details were consistent and known to all. She met with the caterer to nail down every detail. The venue was spotless when we arrived for setup and looked beautiful for the lunch. A staff member was there throughout the event to ensure things went smoothly. This venue is a secret gem in the DC area. It is beautiful and affordable, and a very flexible space.

Rock Creek Mansion was an absolutely beautiful venue for our fall wedding reception of 100 people! I can't say enough wonderful things about this venue and how exceptional Julie & Mike are to work with. They truly made our day an unforgettable one. Julie & Mike were so accessible and met with us on several occasions to go over the layout and timeline for the reception. It made planning a wedding from a distance so much easier. The grounds are gorgeous and the mansion itself is stunning - such a great find for the location, convenience, and setting. If I had to do it all again, I would choose Rock Creek Mansion and working with Julie & Mike in a heartbeat. I highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a personalized, elegant, fun and intimate wedding!

Rock Creek mansion was absolutely venue for my daughters wedding. My daughter, son in law, family and friends all had a great time and commented on how wonderful everything was.

Rock Creek Mansion is such a great space! And for the price, you can’t beat it! I loved the seperate built in bar area! It was perfect for our 100 person wedding but could have easily fit more. Julie is so easy and nice to work with. Definitely recommend!!

We had our wedding reception at Rock Creek Mansion this past weekend and we couldn't be more pleased with our decision! The venue is cozy and welcoming, the perfect spot for our 130-guest "rustic fall"-themed wedding. We had an indoor reception and rented a tent for the patio, which provided a nice spot for guests to take a break from the party inside and enjoy the fall weather, and watch the kids run around on the lawn. Julie Carter, the events coordinator at RCM, was accommodating and helpful from start to finish. She recommended excellent vendors who had worked together several times before, and who teamed up to create a magical reception that we'll never forget! Throughout the process, she shared lots of helpful hints and tips, like taking advantage of RCM's private room upstairs to accommodate several guests with babies and young children, and suggesting a table layout that provided enough space for the dance floor--which was a great decision, because our guests danced nonstop.

We had a blast and would highly recommend Rock Creek Mansion as a reception venue!

My husband and I had our wedding reception at Rock Creek Manion in August 2014. The mansion is truly beauitufl and they have done a lot in the yards which makes it even nice in summer. Great location as well, right off the beltway. We had about 115 guests. We worked with Julie who was magnificent from the first e-mail all the way to the day off. Anytime I had a question about something she responded immediately. She was very easy to work with. We also used the bar services which were fantastic!

The only minor drawback that I heard of was during set-up on the day of the wedding. I wasn't there of course, but my mom's friend who was helping set up said that it was a little confusing and there were a lot of restrictions even though we went over everything. It is possible that it was confusing becasue we never had a "run-through" meeting like I thought we would with the caterer, RCM, DJ, and decorators (in this case my mom's friend). Throughout the last couple weeks before our event, we were looking out for it from Julie (or the caterer) but it never happened. It worked out in the end because the mansion looked BEAUTIFUL for the wedding, but the meeting would have given us peace of mind before the wedding.

Other than that, I highly recommend having your event at RCM. It's so easy to decorate.. there is so much you can do.

Outstanding Venue in Montgomery County

From our first visit, we knew this would be the right space for our daughter's wedding reception. The space is very neutral, the vibe is relaxed but elegant. I highly recommend considering Rock Creek Mansion for your event.

Great experience for our wedding

My fiance and I choose this spot for our early November wedding for around 100 guests. It was the perfectly unique personable, homelike cozy setting we desired and it looks fantastic in photos. We were thrilled to use this site for our wedding. The reception coordinator, Julie Carter, was a breeze to work with. She was congenial, professional and very responsive to my questions and guiding me in the process of planning. She also seemed to not view planning weddings as much as a for-profit business venture as other coordinators I had met which was an added bonus. The house manager and bar manager were also both very easy to work with. Many of our guests commented on how lovely this site was in general.

Although after signing the contract the surrounding forest underwent construction for more cookie cutter houses "from the low 800k" in Bethesda, this venue is still great place for a small to medium sized wedding reception. There is ample room for up to about 200 people and setting up alcohol and more importantly being able to drop off things way in advance, was easy and the coordinator is very easy to work with. If you don't want a pretentious venue with ample room for a very nice wedding I would recommend. Very conveniently located near downtown bethesda

We held our daughter's senior class prom dinner at RCM and it was FABULOUS! Plenty of room and great photo areas for about 120 students -- plus lots of parents who hung out from beginning to end, which kids didn't mind at all! Some parents went downstairs to the bar -- which kids didn't even know about, so it wasn't a problem. We started with photos outside on patio and lawn. Then, a buffet and sit down dinner for the students. A huge success! We used Simply Fresh Catering, which also coordinated our limo buses.

Julie is exetremely knowledgeable about the venue and has many suggestions. She checks out almost every event so she can make her own judgment as to the caterer, florist, wedding planner, band, etc which is very helpful to those customers seeking recommendations. She has an extremely good demeanor and is very responsive. I would recommend; but as any consumer should do, do your own research for what you are looking for at your event.

We had my sister-in-law's memorial service and life celebration at Rock Creek Mansion. We were able to book the space on short notice (10 days) and the coordinator, Julie Carter, worked with us to get the set-up that we wanted. She provided very helpful suggestions. On the day of the event, we had someone there to monitor things and to improvise last -minute changes: additional tables and chairs and their arrangements.

We had a short religious service in the L-space off the main room, followed by a luncheon in the main room.

The space itself is very nice, with a not-too-large ball room and outdoor patio. We had about 60 people in attendance. Julie's set-up worked perfectly - allowing plenty of space for people to move about in without feeling like we were lost in a stadium.

Their resident caterer, Mike Horan, catered the event for us. We were a little anxious when we didn't hear from Mike right away (but then we were anxious anyway), but Mike provided exactly the luncheon we wanted, including accommodations for special diets and a special punch requested by my wife.

All the staff were very friendly and considerate. The event was everything we could have wanted. We heartily recommend Rock Creek Mansion to anyone looking to stage an event.

Great venue!

RCM was great! The venue was perfect for the kind of wedding we wanted, and the staff was mostly communicative and easy to work with. They are a little particular about the way certain things are done (table arrangements, decorations), and we had some minor hiccups during the ceremony itself, but the staff was very amendable to making it up to us and we really liked the way it turned out.

Gratis Location

The venue location was great just was disappointed that the entrance way for where the guest were going to enter was not complete as they had said it would be completely by our wedding day or before. It was still great inside the venue and both Mike were awesome gentlemen helping with the set up of the venue and break down.
