Words do not exist to describe what a gift Rob has. We were married at Overlook Barn on October 1st, 2023 and we are so grateful that Rob and Kristen were there to not only capture our special moments, but to spend the day with us! He and Kristen are truly a dream team! We were fortunate enough to have an engagement shoot with Rob a year prior to the wedding and he was so friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. We told him what we were looking for in our photos and he not only recommended a place, but his calming presence is key if you are even remotely nervous in front of a camera. He has a true artistic eye, he is efficient with time while also being extremely attentive to detail. The day of the wedding Rob would capture a shot and then turn the camera around to show us his work for a split second - it was moments like these that showed how passionate he was about his work, how excited he was to share it with us, and how much he truly cared that we liked the result. If you are looking to hire a separate videographer for your wedding day - Rob + Kristen work extremely well with (yet another husband wife duo) Brandon and Jana, at A Thousand Crane Productions!

My husband and I hired Rob and his team as the photographer for our wedding this past May and it was one of the best decisions we made! After seeing the final photo gallery, I was truly blown away by the attention to detail and quality of the photos! Rob and his team were very friendly, put us at ease, and were professional throughout the multiple events we had during our wedding weekend. Even our other vendors complimented how Rob took command and made things go smoothly. He took some incredible shots that truly captured the love and joy that was expressed during the weekend events. He offered kind words of encouragement when we were feeling stressed. During the ceremonies he took a great mix of portrait and group shots, along with some creative pictures of the decorations and items used in the ceremony. For the baraat, Rob and crew were in the middle of the crowd of people dancing the whole time. This allowed them to take so many fun shots of all our friends and family dancing with the groom before the wedding.
Our wedding day ended up being rainy, but Rob was able to use his experience and creativity to overcome these obstacles, and we ended up taking pictures on the golf course with his beautiful, clear umbrellas. Much to our surprise, these umbrella photos ended up being some of our favorites from the weekend! During the reception, Rob guided us to the locations he picked out for our family photos, and coordinated with the DJ to rapidly bring each table to the dance floor to take a picture with us. We asked Rob for ideas of our exit, and were able to have him capture our family and friends showering us with dried lavender! We will cherish these photos forever and are able to relive each moment from the weekend. We can't thank Rob and his team enough for all of their dedication throughout the weekend, and being flexible with timelines and weather issues and handling it with confidence. We were delighted that Rob shared photos earlier than anticipated. If you need an amazing, creative, and highly knowledgeable photographer for your upcoming event, do yourself a favor and hire Rob!! -

I can't say enough good things about this photography studio!
As someone already prone to feeling awkward, I had an extra dash of nervousness around taking photos. Rob defused any notions of awkwardness. We chose to have Engagement photos taken before the wedding, and our photo session felt as though we were simply walking around the park with our friend. The posing felt natural and the photos were stunning. We enjoyed getting to repeat the process for our wedding day. Rob and his partner were a joy to be around and when they would set up a staged shot, it still felt very natural.
My favorite photos, though, were the ones of all the guests! It was so lovely to see everyone having a good time. They did a great job of capturing candid interactions (especially dancing).
You only get to bring a few things home from your wedding, and I’d argue that photos are the most important. With Rob, you always get good photos! -

Absolutely amazing!
Rob’s photos speak for themselves, so I don’t really need to gush about how beautifully the photos turned out. I will gush about how great it was to work with Rob. He was by far my favourite vendor to work with. Super professional, easy to talk to, and so fun to work with! 10/10 would recommend. -

Rob Tesar exceeded all my expectations! He is a talented photographer producing high quality, beautiful color and lighting photographs. What was so wonderful is his ability to capture precious moments, capture expressions, and memories I forgot or wanted to relive all over again. As a bride you can’t be in all places at all times, and Rob magically was, I don’t think he missed anything, and you never knew he was there. I received a preview shortly after the wedding of some highlights, and then the “gallery” of photos a few weeks later. The sight makes it easy to share, download, or order directly. My friends and family are “obsessed” with the photos, as am I! I am so happy I went with Rob Tesar Photography. -

Absolute Best!
Rob + Kristen were the absolute best duo for our wedding. Not only were their photos beyond incredible (seriously, we love them all), they are such great people to be around. Choosing a wedding photographer was the one item that caused me the most angst. The best advice I got was to choose someone who a) you like their photos and b) you get along with because you end up spending A LOT of time together on the wedding day. We loved the albums we got to preview and had a zoom call with Rob and Kristen to get to know them/ask them any questions before hiring them. They were so down to earth and I think we all ended up chatting for way longer than we planned! We were able to do an engagement shoot session - which again I had a lot of angst about - what do we do for two hours?? - but Rob and Kristen made it so easy and comfortable. They were able to scout out the perfect backgrounds for some really freaking cool photos and had the perfect balance of artsy photos and more standard portrait type. Fast forward to the wedding day and they were equally wonderful! We were focused on getting all of our photos done before the ceremony so that we could enjoy as much time as possible with friends/family at the reception. Rob + Kristen were super accommodating and made sure we were able to get all the pictures we wanted, but stayed on schedule so no one was late for the ceremony! They were extremely organized and had a shot list ready to go for all of our family photos, bridal party, etc., that we wanted to get. They were able to get amazing shots throughout the day but we never felt like they were there/in our way. For both our engagement shoot and the wedding day we wanted to make sure we got some photos with our dogs. Rob + Kristen were great with the pups and had some pretty great tricks up their sleeves to get them to pose right for the camera. We could not recommend these guys more! -

We cannot say enough positive things about working with Rob and Kristen. They are not only beyond professional and talented but are absolute pleasures to work with on a personal level. They worked with us so patiently as we navigated postponing our wedding two times due to COVID and were beyond understanding as we dealt with all of the uncertainties of our wedding planning. Our engagement photos were so fun to do and they had such an eye for taking photos in spots we would never think of that turned out to be our favorite ones. They were very great to work with our dog and we absolutely loved our family pictures with him. When we postponed our wedding, we did a mini photo shoot at home with them which was so casual and yet they are still some of my favorite photos that we have. As we got closer to our final wedding date, they were so responsive at working with me to make sure we had our timeline firmed up and that our photo list was ready to go. They were on time the day of the wedding and found an amazing spot for our first look that made it very special. Throughout the night of the wedding, they did a great job at taking photos without us noticing but always being available when we were ready to take posed photos. The weather was extremely windy that day and they were able to make the photos look flawless despite that. When they left for the evening, I was genuinely sad to say goodbye because of how much I enjoyed working with them. Their photos are a combination of elegant, fun, vibrant, classic, and uniquet. I know I will look back on all of our photos with them for the rest of my life and cannot wait to make a photo album with them all. I truly cannot emphasize how amazing Rob + Kristen are to work with and how happy we are with our photos and experience working with them. If they are available the date of your wedding or event, book them ASAP and stop inquiring with other vendors. You will be so happy to work with them - I promise! Thank you so much Rob and Kristen for making our day absolutely perfect!! -

We used Rob + Kristen for our engagement and wedding photos. They were very helpful in finding a location for our engagement photos and were warm, friendly, and easy to work with from the very beginning - even created a custom package for our needs. Rob will make sure to help any groom figure out what he needs to do with his hands besides flop them at his sides in every photo and Kristen will make sure to snag all the special candid moments between posed shots. We are SO happy with how all our photos turned out for both sessions we had with Rob + Kristen! -

Rob & Kristen are beyond amazing! They make a great team and did an excellent job shooting our micro-ceremony & my bridal portraits at the Grand Bohemian Hotel Charlotte!

We feel so lucky to have come across them & so thankful that they were a part of our big day!

There are honestly not enough words to describe how amazing Rob and Kristen Photography is. Not only are their photos beautiful, but they were so incredibly helpful leading up to and on the day of the wedding. Planning the timeline of the day was incredibly easy with Rob and Kristen's suggestions. On the day of our wedding, they went above and beyond to not only get wonderful pictures that captured the day perfectly, but to also think of the little things, like helping the guys with their boutonnieres, carrying bouquets on the way to the ceremony, and bringing water for the bride and groom after taking pictures. After our wedding, we (and our guests) continued to comment on how fantastic Rob and Kristen are and how we were incredibly grateful that they were part of our special day! -

Rob and Kristen were so fantastic throughout the entire process of being engaged and on the wedding day itself. Their unique style and eye for awesome backdrops, light, color, and artistic photos really came through in our wedding album and I LOVE the entire thing. They were so accommodating to include our dog in the engagement and wedding photos, which was super important to us since she's part of the family! The day of the wedding ran so smoothly, and we got all of the shots we wanted- including really great pictures of everyone on the dance floor after the ceremony and dinner. They were able to show through their photography how joyous and fun the day was for everyone, and for that I can't thank them enough! We couldn't have asked for a better duo to hang out with and capture our love during the best day of our lives. -

We cannot say enough good things about Rob and Kristen! It should be enough that the photos from our wedding truly capture the genuine joy and range of emotions that we experienced throughout the day. They bring us back to the day and give us moments to remember with everyone, with unique photos instead of just stages ones. Rob & Kristen have an amazing eye for light and just generally beautiful photography. But on top of the gorgeous photos, they are a JOY to work with. From our first phone call, they were so easy to talk to and made us feel comfortable - something that makes it much easier for camera-shy people like me! It was immediately clear how much they care about the couples they work with. On our wedding day, they went above and beyond, talking to family members to relieve stress, even entertaining flower girls to give me a moment alone before the ceremony! We loved working with Rob and Kristen! When we had our consultation with them, they asked us questions beyond the typical ones to really get to know us as people and as a couple. They made us feel so comfortable during our pre-wedding shoot, especially since we are camera shy. They even provided guidance on what to wear to that shoot. The photos were delivered even quicker than expected. On our wedding day, we had a morning ceremony so it was a long day of shooting but they remained energetic and creative. They went above and beyond getting shots with us interacting with the guests at every table. They gave us sneak peeks of the photos and even provided additional images early since I wanted them for thank you cards. In summary, Rob and Kristen made us feel comfortable and captured the essence of our relationship. I highly recommend them! -

Rob and Kristen are absolutely amazing! Our DJ had worked with them for a previous wedding and recommended we reach out to them - and I am so glad we did! Our wedding was in NC, but we live in CA, so we had to plan our wedding from a distance. Even though we were far away, Rob and Kristen took the time to get to know us as a couple via Skype and email. From our first Skype session with them, it was very clear that they were exceptionally talented photographers, but also lovely people. I felt that Rob and Kristen truly cared about our story as a couple. Once we booked with them and the planning process began, Rob and Kristen made it so easy by providing a sample timeline and list of people/combinations of people for photos. I absolutely loved that I knew I could trust them to work their magic and capture amazing photos - it was one less thing to be anxious about on our wedding day! Rob and Kristen walked us through all of the pre-wedding photos, from the first look to the ones with the wedding party and family. They were great at keeping things moving while also keeping the atmosphere relaxed, even though people were switching in and out of photos. It started to rain after our first-look photos and before we had access to the church, so they came up with a great solution to take some photos with the wedding party in the church hall. Though the hall was not the most aesthetically pleasing space, Rob and Kristen created some beautiful and creative images. One of our favorite photos of the entire day was taken in the hall! They figured out how to create beautiful lighting effects and make it happen. In addition to capturing beautiful photos, Rob and Kristen went above and beyond to help us with other wedding-related issues. I was feeling fairly calm all day until right before I was supposed to walk out of the dressing room area to walk down the aisle. I think it was a combination of nerves, the tightly laced corset back of my dress, and the hot temperature in the room, but I felt like I could barely breathe. Kristen helped me with some deep breathing techniques and told me to focus on my future husband's face as I was walking down the aisle in order to calm the nervousness of all eyes being on me. That is definitely not in the photographer job description - I thought it was so kind of her! Rob and Kristen helped us out in another big way immediately following the ceremony. After we walked back up the aisle together, they told us we should duck into the dressing room quickly before people saw us and started talking to us. They said if people saw us, they would continue to hang around the church instead of going to our reception venue. That was something my husband and I never would have thought of, but I know they were right. They saved us from getting caught up by guests when we were supposed to be sharing a special moment with each other and our families. I could write a book about what an awesome experience it was to work with Rob and Kristen - if you want gorgeous photos that are unique to the couple and a great value, photographers who are creative and passionate, and people who are so kind and lovely to spend time with, please reach out to Rob + Kristen Photography! -

I cannot say enough nice things about Rob and Kristen. They are amazing! We are mountain enthusiasts and hired them to do both our engagement photos and wedding (both in different mountain locations). They really captured us in our favorite habitats, looking and feeling happy and natural. They take the time to get to know you and understand who you are, which makes the photos 10 times more personal and honest.
Each photo is a work of art, and in addition to capturing you in your "prettiest" state, they capture you and your family and friends having fun. The candid shots are some of my favorites! They also have an artsy edge that gives some of your photos a very unique and fun feel (unlike many other wedding photographers).
In addition to being incredibly talented artists, Rob and Kristen are kind, selfless and amazing human beings! They have a calming presence and make you feel at ease while you're being photographed. They are truly genuine and I cannot recommend them enough!!
We absolutely LOVE how our engagement and wedding photos turned out and my husband and I will cherish them forever! Don't hesitate to hire these two! They are out of this world! -

Book them now!
I don't even know where to begin on how amazing Rob and Kristen are!! I became obsessed with their work long before I was even engaged and I knew that they were the ones to someday photograph my wedding. I think I knew they were the ones before I knew my husband was the one. (Just kidding..... maybe.) So when we finally did get engaged, I knew I had to contact them right away. When we first met with them, we immediately had a connection. It was love at first sight/meet. They are both such fun people to be around, which made the whole process of getting to know who we really are as a couple so much easier. We could open up to them and share our story. It was definitely the most enjoyable experience of the whole entire wedding planning and actual wedding. My fiancé and I were so worried about the engagement photos because we are such dorks and can't take pictures to save our lives. But with Rob's brilliant direction and Kristen's entertaining conversation, we felt right at home and so comfortable. We were so sad the session had to end! Once we got the AMAZING pictures back (and saw how awesome they made us doofus creatures look), we were that much more ready for our wedding day with them as a part of it! Sure enough, our wedding day was absolutely incredible thanks to the timeline that Kristen created for us and their gentle nature all day long. I had such faith in them and felt so at ease all day. To say they were the best part of our wedding day (besides actually marrying my husband) would be the biggest understatement. We had such a blast with them all day. We got the most amazing, incredible, awe-worthy photographs (and short film, OMG did I mention the film??! Holy crap. Tears.) out of the whole experience with them. But more importantly, we gained two of the most amazingly talented friends. Have I said AMAZING too many times?? I'm not sorry. Seriously, anyone, anywhere, hire Rob and Kristen. You will not be disappointed! I cannot wait to book so many more random sessions with them throughout our lives just so we can have more of their talent on our walls. Also so we can hang out with them more (as if we need an excuse.) Rob and Kristen, we love you so much! -

Could not recommend them more!! They were both absolutely wonderful to work with for both our engagement and wedding pictures. Kristen kept us organized and on time during our wedding day and helped me feel relaxed. My husband does not like taking pictures, but they made him feel relaxed and comfortable. AND our pictures turned out great. My husband was commenting last night on how great they looked. I highly recommend them! -

Transparent, Professional, and Flexible
Finding a photographer felt like the most overwhelming part of wedding planning. After finding Rob + Kristen on a local vendor director we were instantly relieved by the clarity of their investment (aka cost). Finding a wedding vendor who would actually tell you what you would pay for exactly what service provided up front without a meeting is a rare find we learned. Rob + Kristen are up front and professional the second we met them we knew we would be lucky if we could work with them. Combing their extensive positive reviews and prolific blog posts, you will feel just like we did! Gotta book them! We had our initial meeting with them 11 months prior to our wedding. We discussed a lot of expectations and special requests that day and Rob + Kristen remembered ALL of it. The galleries they showed us were of couples of all sizes and weddings of all budgets with space constraints and lighting challenges of all kinds. If you are not a "photo geek" you would never be able to tell! In each of them they capture the most authentic little moments and allow the radiance of each couple's love and style to shine through. Our gallery of 1,200 incredible photos is no exception. They balance the couples shots, details shots, and family shots beautifully. Our gallery has so many photos we truly can't believe they were everywhere at once. We love how many sweet moments between our guests they immortalized for us to cherish forever! During the ceremony we never saw them and some guests commented "your photographers never got in the way, we forgot they were there" yet every single moment of our ceremony was documented in the most beautiful way. R+K were also extremely and respectful of our sensitive family dynamics and turned what could have been tense and stressful family portraits fun for everyone involved. We are forever thankful that Rob + Kristen were with us on the most special day of our lives to date and we cannot recommend them enough! -

Rob + Kristen are so relaxed and experienced that we knew we were in great hands from our first meeting. At first we thought we didn't need the included pre-wedding session but I am so glad we did it because it gave us a chance to get to know Rob and Kristen and to get comfortable in front of the camera. Our wedding was during Hurricane Florence and they never gave us any indication that there would be any problems on their end - in fact they reassured us that they had dealt with hurricane weddings previously! They were so relaxed on the day that it helped us to relax and have a good time despite other weather-related snafus! We just got our pictures back from our wedding (5 week turnaround! Quicker than I expected!) and love them. I don't know how else to end this review except to say that if you're considering Rob + Kristen, stop right now and just hire them. -
Hannah Sent on 09/22/2018We spent months looking for the perfect photographer(s) to capture our wedding and our efforts paid off when we found Rob and Kristen! Our photos are beautiful, but I was more impressed with the level of service provided. Rob and Kristen were always prompt to respond to emails and they went the extra mile to deliver exactly what we wanted. They worked with us to come up with a package that met our needs and budget and captured every moment without being too intrusive. When direction was needed they told you exactly what to do so you weren't left wondering. We received our photos quickly (just a little over 3 weeks for 1200 photos). And most importantly, they really seemed to care about us as a couple. Kristen in particular was wonderful! Two examples that really stand out to me are when she ran to her car to get some hydrocortisone cream and helped me rub it on my mosquito bites and that she offered to hold my bouquet between photos (it really was heavy!!). All in all I can't recommend Rob and Kristen Photography enough.

Gabby Sent on 06/06/2018Would give them a 6/5 if we could! This photography team truly went above and beyond our expectations. Not only is their photography STUNNING, they also are both lovely human beings to work with. Their vision is incredibly creative and we had no problem putting all our trust in them. They're highly experienced and I would recommend them to absolutely anyone. They have a personal style that is seen in all the work they do, they're great communicators, they get their work done in a very timely manner and they calm your nerves on your wedding day better than your own wedding party could! If you're on the fence about your photographer, go with them! (Their package that we went with also included engagement photos- see some below!)
