Rob is an Absolute Must

When my husband and I began looking for photographers, we looked at many different photographers portfolios and Rob’s stuck out the most. The way he was able to capture couples weddings from start to finish in such a way that told the story was truly amazing. When we spoke with Rob and found out his pricing, my husband and I were a bit hesitant to spend so much on a wedding photographer, but I can say without a doubt that out of every vendor we booked for our wedding, Rob is the one who was worth every single penny. He truly was able to capture our wedding day in a way that brought us tears of joy. If we had to do our entire wedding over again he’d be the first on our list to book! From talking before the booking process to the photo reveal, it was such a smooth process and he made the whole thing feel magical. If you can, book Rob because he will absolutely do what you want and more!

Captures moments to last a lifetime.

Rob did an exceedingly exceptional job. Not only did he set us up for success by carefully going over a detailed schedule with us beforehand and help us manage expectations in the days/weeks leading up to the big day. He was also available and caring throughout the entire process. He is incredibly professional and makes sure that the couple, and family members are having fun on the wedding day, and don't spend too much time taking photos; the photos turn out better than we could have imagined. He doesn't just capture pictures from the day, he captures the emotions that made the day everything that it was. My husband and I were completely blown away by what he was able to do; he shattered our expectations and then some. Everything was very organic, we spent very little time posing for photos aside from getting the obligatory family portraits. Even our individual portrait photos were just us wandering around the venue and Rob capturing our playfulness and silliness. I cannot recommend him enough!

Rob is Amazing!

We discovered Rob through our venue, Sweeney Barn, as he is one of their preferred vendors. Looking at his portfolio and now having worked with him, it is obvious why! He has many years of experience, an incredible eye for framing, a beautiful and creative style, and a wonderful personality! And we were amazed at his ability to capture the same events from multiple angles. You’d think he was in multiple places at once! He kept us on track and moving, getting the important portraits that we wanted quickly so that he could capture candid photos of our guests celebrating with us, which was a big priority for us. During our photo reveal session, we had so much fun looking at all the great pictures and designing our album. We are so excited to see what the album looks like!

Easy to work with!

We used Rob from Rob Jinks photography at Airlie for our wedding. He was relaxed but efficient, especially when wrangling the larger groups for pictures. Because of the weather, he arrived early to find creative alternatives to get pictures in the more shady areas of the venue. He even provided us with a few preview shots of his work at the wedding which was really nice. We cannot wait to get the full set of pictures from him!

Excellent in his craft!

Where to begin? My friends and I have a running joke that Rob Jinks is our resident photographer within our friend group (lol). He has photographed 4 other weddings that my husband and I attended, and now our wedding. Rob is excellent in his craft! He'll run an idea past you, at your level of comfortability, but word of advice just roll with it, because it ends up working so well! We can't thank Rob enough for capturing such beautiful moments from our big day!

Excellent Wedding Photographer!

Rob photographed our wedding and did an amazing job! Leading up to our wedding day, he responded to questions quickly and helped us figure out details for our day. Our family and friends were very impressed by his detail and professionalism.

Peak Foliage, Peak Photography Experience

Where do I even begin? Rob and his team were the best part of our day, quite frankly (aside from being blessed with peak foliage and beautiful weather).

We got married 10/28/23 at the Skyland Resort at Shenandoah National Park. Rob was both a recommended vendor and someone I found when googling “Shenandoah Weddings”. His experience with the venue and the park was instrumental to how well he was able to guide us throughout this process.

From the start, Rob went out of his way to get to know us. The whole planning process was seamless and communication between Rob and I was fantastic. Rob made every effort to get to know us personally. His questionnaire was a very helpful guide in helping us establish a shot list and making sure the truly important moments and details were captured. A simple tool that really helped harness the chaos that is wedding planning and focus us on the things that were truly important to us. It also made for a seamless transition from Rob to his head photographer, Eric, who was actually in charge of shooting our wedding.

Where do I even start with Eric? Eric was incredible. He showed up early in order to make sure he did not get caught in leaf peeping traffic (something we didn’t really realize we needed to plan for and that caught some of our guests and unfortunately other vendors who said they were familiar with this location/time off guard) and just jumped right in.

Eric was not just our photographer but basically our wedding sherpa. He helped the groomsmen with their boutonnieres and almost single handedly bustled my damn dress. All while delivering over and over again epic shots. He claims he sucks at detail shots but what he created for me was beautiful. Same for the shot of my dress. He organized our first look and helped us remember to take a moment with each other before the hecticness of the day really kicked off.

Eric let me sneak a peak at some of the shots he was getting while we were shooting, so even though I do no have edited images in-hand yet I am so excited to see the final images he captured!

I cannot recommend Rob Jinks photographer and Eric enough – 5 stars for every possible category of service you could imagine and worth the investment in their services.

Our best day, thanks to Rob!

Rob really exceeded all of our expectations as our wedding photographer and we could not be happier with how our day went. After attending so many weddings in the past, my husband and I realized that our photographer was our top priority as we didn’t want someone who just took staged photos all day and really wanted candids- someone to capture moments rather than still photos in random spots. Rob really made that vision come to life as he captured our day in many of our favorite spots whether it was throughout our home where we got ready, fun photos throughout our favorite spots in Old Town ALX, at our venue ~30 minutes from our home where we got more action shots and all of our family portraits. He was very flexible and went along with all of our ideas as far as where and when to capture our day (and managed to get perfect photos incorporating our dog as well)!

Rob was super timely and even arrived at our house almost 30 minutes early of our shoot time to scope out all of the spots for good lighting based on the time of day. He brought great energy and was really genuine throughout our time together - as my husband and I don’t always like to be in the spotlight, he made us feel comfortable and was super uplifting as we went about the day. He kept the process even more exciting as there were times when he found a cool way the light hit the camera and he’d have us move back into a very specific spot to try something new and spontaneous. It was really fun shooting across Old Town in all the various spots and spending the afternoon with Rob! Even at the venue we asked Rob about bringing a drone to capture us on the road leading into the wedding- he was all in to try it out for us and it was a success! As we got towards the end of the night, our reception started to get a little behind on time but Rob made sure all of our picture requests were met (and even reminded us of a few we had forgotten about).

With so many photographers out there to choose from, I really think Rob is the best choice you can make! He really brings so many special touches (and surprises) and helps make your day as magical as possible. We were fortunate to have amazing weather but even if it did rain, I’m sure our pictures would have been just as amazing given how versatile Rob is with his work (check out his instagram!) so it’s helpful to have someone like him to put your weather fears at ease. Thank you so SO much Rob and we are so excited for our in-person reveal session in a few weeks (again another awesome touch that Rob does for his clients)!!

If I could give Rob 100 stars, I would.

If you're looking for a sign to book Rob as your photographer, this is your sign. When looking for a photographer for our wedding, we immediately clicked with Rob. He was thoughtful and intentional in the questions he asked about us, our families, and our wedding day. Throughout the year & a half between us booking him and our actual wedding, he remained in contact with us regularly to check in and see if he could provide any additional guidance or advice. On wedding day, he was on time (early), super flexible with us, and had the best energy. Rob is an incredibly gifted photographer and fabulous person. His energy and talent is beyond impressive. Already looking forward to booking him again for family portraits in the coming years.

Great experience

My husband and I hired Rob to photograph our wedding. Rob was very informative and responsive throughout the booking process. His online event portal was also easy to use.

In the lead up to our wedding, Rob continued to work with us to plan our weddings timeline, including our first look and time for photos before the ceremony. He also built lists of specific photos we wanted, such as groups/specific locations.

On the day of Rob was pleasant and professional. He walked us through our planned photos and new ones effortlessly. His creativity and talent really showed as we walked through the venue taking outside the box photos. He also checked in with us throughout the evening to ensure he was getting everything we wanted. All in all, Rob was one of our favorite vendors to work with.

Rob Was The Best

Rob was amazing from start to finish. He was very communicative up front during our initial meetings when we hired him. He helped us get an idea of what we wanted along the way, while even offering to help with other overall wedding-planning thoughts. The wedding day itself was absolutely wonderful as Rob was able to capture all of the best moments. The way he can capture pure, raw-emotion in a photograph is astonishing. Breathtaking Photos, Down To Adventure For the Best Pics

We found Rob through our venue (Meadowlark) and loved his vibe of willingness to hike wherever to get the best photos possible. He was very thorough in all the questionnaires and really got a feel for both what we were looking for in terms of photography as well as who we were as people - he truly wanted to capture us as we were.

We hired him for both our engagement shoot and our wedding, and he absolutely did not disappoint! Our engagement photos at Great Falls National Park were so gorgeous - not only did we love the photos (and honestly the entire experience of scrabbling up rocks to get the best pictures), but we had so many comments on how truly epic the photos were. Rob really put in work making sure he got the right angles, the right framing, and the right lighting, especially if it meant having him climb up rocks in what seemed like record speed.

And for our wedding, we had a similar great experience. He was great at guiding us, but also just let us and our guests be ourselves. We got a couple of preview pictures, and oh my gosh I'm so excited to see all of them. Rob was an absolute pleasure to work with, and whether you're doing an adventure wedding or just a simple event, he WILL get the best photos possible. 10/10 would hire again!

Engagement Photos

Rob was fun at the same time very efficient and professional to work with. He will send some questionnaires and make zoom calls to get to know you as a couple. We already felt comfortable at our first zoom meeting with him. We had our engagement photo shoot last Fall of 2022 and it was freezing but Rob still made it work. We went for a mini hike and our pictures came out AMAZING with good lighting even though we didn't get the golden hour that we wanted. Rob is an adventure photographer and he wants the couple to have enjoyable activities while having the photo shoot. Also, his wedding photo packages are at a reasonable price. includes an engagement photo session and a photo book. We had tied the knot last week and we can't wait for our wedding photos. Since day one of inquiring, Rob was OUTSTANDING. He cared about getting to know you as a couple and wanted to ensure he was a good fit to tell your love story. Throughout the process he would check-in, send surveys, and make sure everyone was on the same page. He was detailed, clear, attentive, and so much fun. Such an easy person to talk to and beyond genuine. His portfolio speaks for itself which is what immediately drew us to him, but his personality, attentional to detail, kind hearted spirit, and knowledge is what motivated us to book him. A million “thank you”s are not enough!

I cannot express how wonderful my husband and I’s experience with Rob was! From the beginning Rob was personable and remembered the important details from each conversation we had! We were excited to have him capture our day, but we were even more amazed at the results! The day of the wedding, he remembered everyone’s names, personal details that they had told him, and really made an effort to get to know everybody in our wedding party! Our wedding party and guests all talked about how professional, personable, and kind Rob is. One of a kind

Rob was our photographer for our wedding this past June. To say that we couldn't have chosen a better photographer is an understatement (and I know there are so many talented photographers out there!) From the beginning, it was clear that Rob's primary goal was to get to know WHO we were. The Very Happy Couple

Rob was everything we could want in a wedding photographer. As a couple that is always living in the moment we so often don’t have the pictures of our memories. Rob captured our engagement shoot and wedding day and he was spectacular. We have a ton of traditional wedding photos of family along with fun candids. An artist and a calming presence on our wedding day

I can't say enough great things about my experience working with Rob for a wedding in Shenandoah National Park. Having shot dozens of weddings at my venue before, he was a huge source of support and inspiration leading up to the wedding. On the day of, he somehow managed to be both an enthusiastic and calming presence. When the schedule started to slip a bit, he reassured me that it was ok, we would just adjust slightly.

My guests also raved about him - he was always in the action getting the shots at the reception, but somehow never in anyone's way. I'm pretty sure he got photos of every single guest!

And the real reason we hired him was because of his eye for those dramatic mountain shots - and he came through in a BIG way on those. He was willing to change into Chacos with us and go places that necessitated tick checks just so we could get the mountainside sunset photos we dreamed of.

In short, our day would NOT have been the same without Rob.

Amazing person with an amazing eye for beautiful photos

Rob is AMAZING. I work in the wedding industry and we met at an association meeting a few years ago and I knew then I wanted to book him for my own wedding. As a person, he is kind, patient, and overall pleasant to be around. It's SO important to get along with the vendors you'll be around all day, and Rob made it easy.

He took our engagement photos about a year and a half before our wedding and was so patient with our crazy dogs in DC. Between then and the wedding, he kept in close contact and his operational processes for timelines, requesting details, and auto emails were extremely communicative and straightforward. On the way of our wedding, Rob and his second shooter, Anthony, were a dream team. Weather was weird but they took the opportunity to take memorable photos of the wedding party running from hail. His approach of taking candid, un-posed photos was perfect for my husband and I's personality. We're still waiting for our photo reveal, but we know the final product is going to be beautiful.

We were inspired to hire Rob after being shown some of his pictures from a friend who'd attended one of the weddings he photographed. The incredible, small details of his photos intrigued us, and his warm, friendly, easy-going personality sealed the deal. My husband and I are a bit camera-shy, but Rob was so kind and earnest and worked very hard to support us through our engagement and wedding photos. We've been a witness to Rob's great talents as our friends got married over the years, and knew we had to have Rob photograph our wedding. We had booked him as soon as we were engaged and we did our engagement shoot, micro-ceremony, and reception over two years with him. Working with Rob is easy, fun, and the photos speak for themselves; he is truly talented in his ability to direct, document, and edit great photography. Having him and his team of co-photographers at your wedding means he will document the expected and spontaneous moments, with both picturesque and creative styles, color and black-and-white, and take full advantage of whatever lighting or scenic opportunities are present on your special day. Looking back through his work brings back the beauty and special memories, and Rob loves hearing your thoughts and reflections.

Overall we cannot recommend Rob Jinks enough! Book early, and if you must, work your wedding schedule around his availability - it's well worth it.

Amazing, Communicative, and Flexible!

Rob was amazing throughout the entire planning process and the day of! Even my family could not stop remarking about how incredible Rob was both at and after the wedding. We had to make several changes to our wedding day plan, and Rob was very flexible and communicative to make sure we were all on the same page. We had an Airbnb wedding, and Rob had no problem figuring out the optimal locations for shots even though he hadn't seen the site before the wedding day. He was so kind and incredible to work with, and we'll definitely be using his services again for future family photos.

Epic wedding shots!

Rob is a great photographer who not only takes vibrant, stunning photos, he knows how to capture all the candid moments during a wedding. He has an eye for beautiful and fun shots. He is phenomenal at including what's important to his clients, whether it be people, pets, or hobbies.
During our ceremony, the wind was blowing the whole time and he got these epic shots of my veil getting caught in the wind. He also got tons of pictures of all of our guests which has been so wonderful for us when we look back on our day. Thank you, Rob for capturing these memories for us!

Look no further for your wedding photographer!

We met Rob first at the time of our proposal/engagement photoshoot. We learned very quickly how personable and skilled he is by capturing very intimate moments that cannot be put into words. He is extremely talented and has an eye that very few photographers have. Having a multiple event Indian wedding, he was always there in the midst of the action without missing a beat. He really goes above and beyond without us ever having to ask him, thus providing a much higher than expected service. Throughout all of our time with Rob, he never once made us feel like we were posed for a cliche photo. You can literally live and feel each moment that he captures in his photographs which makes for a very enjoyable walk down memory lane each time we open our album book. Rob’s the greatest

We were so happy working with Rob for our engagement photos and wedding day. He was such a sense of calm throughout a difficult planning process with COVID. We really appreciated how organized Rob was (love the portal he uses!) and we really felt like we were in experienced hands from start to finish. On the day of our micro wedding, it was so comfortable being around Rob. It feels like a friend who’s there, snapping photos, but not getting in the way or manufacturing any moments. We highly recommend him!

We are so grateful Rob was our wedding photographer. He did an amazing job!! He was perfectly on time even though I did not tell him the correct room! We was patient and helped coordinate our pictures so we got everything we wanted. When it was raining before our hike he was 100% supportive and positive. He hiked through the rain to the top of Stony Man at Shenandoah and guided us through our double rainbow pictures in fairly strong wind. All of our guests commented on how amazing he is and asked if he was a personal friend (we just met him :). He really takes time to get to know everyone and capture every moment. He went the extra mile with every request. We highly recommend him!

Captured my family through my eyes

Rob is amazing - I have worked with him on the vendor side for weddings and have always admired his professionalism while being able to pull authenticity out of the people he photographs. I decided to have him photograph a life style shoot for our family photos and with two kids 2 and under, let's just say I was nervous. Haha - I didn't think it would be possible to get everyone looking at the camera all at once but Rob made it happen! He also somehow captured some really sweet moments that I didn't know he got. I was blown away by every picture and his patience throughout the process. He never "waited" for my son to pay attention, he never made us feel like we were in a hurry. He got on the floor with my kids and just started capturing everything that makes up our messy beautiful family the way I see them through my eyes (including some awesome shots of the cats! Haha Thank you, Rob. I recommend you 100 times over and cannot wait for family photos next year.

An amazing artistic eye!!

We had a low-budget wedding but decided to splurge on a photographer and we are SO glad we did! Rob was fantastic to work with and our photos blew us away. We picked him because his photos aren't just wedding photos - he has an amazing eye that takes the photos into the realm of art.

Working with Rob was so easy! He was so responsive and flexible and did a great job getting to know us, so the photos he took really reflect our personality as a couple. Gorgeous Photos and Quality Experience with Rob Jinks

I enthusiastically recommend Rob for all your photography needs. He is super personable, affordable, and his photos are absolutely stunning.

Rob photographed our wedding and what initially set him apart was his video messages and desire to have video meetings (we got married during the COVID-19 pandemic). At first, we found it a bit unusual, but we quickly realized that the video calls made it so much easier to get to know Rob and build a connection, particularly during a time when in-person meetings aren't an easy option. We had a few video calls to talk through our vision and hopes for the wedding day. Rob also walked us through examples of weddings he had done that would be similar in style to ours so we could get a sense of his artistic approach. We could immediately tell that he was very thorough and detail-oriented. As we were planning out the day, Rob gave super helpful suggestions, demonstrating his knowledge of what worked in the DC area (including at the Capitol, the Lincoln Memorial, and the DC War Memorial) from a photographer’s perspective, and helped us develop a realistic plan for the day given our time together.

On the wedding day, Rob made us feel very comfortable - both with him and with having our photo taken as we were newbies at that. And all of our guests felt the same way as he was organizing the after ceremony family portraits. He also turned around the final product in a very timely manner (within one month), and provided a sneak peak within the first week. We were completely blown away. The photos were vibrant, creative, and captured the joy and memories of the day so well. Family and friends are already hanging them up in their houses.

The best investment!

Rob Jinks Photography blows all other competition out of the water and is SO worth the investment. Not only because of the quality of his work, but also the quality of his character and high level of professionalism.

When I first reached out to Rob about shooting our wedding day he was unfortunately already booked. However, he recommended a friend and associate of his, Miles, who has a very similar style and approach. In the months and weeks leading up to the wedding, we had video calls with both Rob & Miles in order to get an idea of our expectations for the day, as well as get some suggestions from them. They also texted me the week of the wedding to offer their support and get me pumped up for the big day!

All of the communication prior to wedding day helped to make us feel 100% comfortable with Miles when we finally met him in person. He was so fun to have around that it felt like a friend we had known for years was shooting our wedding. And he has such a great eye for detail, there were so many moments throughout the day that he would have a spark of inspiration, which made it all the more fun & exciting for us.

Rob did all of our photo edits, which have so far turned out beautifully. We loved getting to see a first look at some of our photos on his blog, and are excited to see the rest soon & re-live the memories of the day!

There is just such a stark difference between Rob Jinks Photography's work and that of others' in the industry. While the the photography speaks for itself, the overall experience you have working with him and his team makes it even more worth it!

Best of the best

I spent weeks researching wedding photographers--reading countless reviews and contacting a few dozen. I ultimately went with Rob, and I'm glad I did. Rob is a true artist, storyteller, and professional. I had a very specific vision in mind for my wedding photos, and Rob embodied exactly what I was looking for. First, Rob absolutely excels at capturing the natural, raw emotions of the day--from the nervous energy leading up to the ceremony, to the upbeat, high energy on the reception dance floor. Going through our wedding gallery is like re-living all the feelings and moments of the day, big and small. I also wanted a photographer who could capture candid photos with some artistic perspective--utilizing light, architecture, and other surrounding elements to create beautiful shots. Rob is also a pro at this, and I'm incredibly impressed with the interesting range of shots and creativity in our photos. Lastly, Rob hits the sweet spot in terms of editing the photos to look vibrant but natural...his use of light and color is absolute perfection. Our families and friends continue to rave about how beautifully the photos turned out, and claim that these are some of the best wedding photos they'd ever seen!

As for Rob himself--he was a true pleasure to work with and really went above and beyond our expectations from day 1. During planning, he sent me occasional texts and emails to make sure wedding planning was going smoothly. He also had me fill out a form with details about the wedding day and examples of shots I wanted. For a detail-oriented bride, this made me feel that I was in good hands and wouldn't have to worry about the details of the photography on the day-of. Additionally, a few days before the wedding, I was unsure of where to take wedding portraits, and he patiently talked with me for an hour to brainstorm our options and transportation logistics.

On the day of the wedding, he was an extremely calming and helpful presence, working seamlessly with our bus driver, wedding day coordinators, and other vendors. He interacted very well with our 265+ wedding guests, and handled our giant, crazy family portraits with light-hearted ease. Family members and friends commented at how wonderful he was--friendly and fun without being intrusive. At our wedding reception, Rob even gave my bridesmaids and me printed photos and set up a tv display with photos he took that day...such awesome, thoughtful gestures that were unexpected but very appreciated!

I could go on and on with everything that Rob did to impress my husband and me. He's the best of the best. You can't go wrong with him!

Amazing Photographer!

Rob is an amazing photographer and I cannot recommend him enough! Rob is a very kind person and is super easy to interact and work with. He likes to get to know his clients and captures their stories and interests through his work. Rob is the opposite of pretentious, is super knowledgeable about photography and always finds ways to take artistic shots. He also does a great job of incorporating technology into his clients’ user experience – his website is easy to navigate, and he likes to use video call check-ins which are easy to schedule. Rob had photographed my friends’ wedding, so I knew he was going to be great, but I was still blown away when I saw our photos. They are absolutely beautiful and captured very artistically. Our Best Vendor - Stunning Photos!!!

Rob was easily our favorite vendor to work with. My wife did some extensive searching before she stumbled upon Rob’s Instagram. She was instantly taken back by both the style of his photos and his ability to capture the best moments of the night in such a natural way. Rob did not disappoint!

He was so much fun to work with. He’s got such a cheerful personality, that helped make the whole experience so wonderful. My wife and I are avid hikers, and we wanted our engagement shoot to feature as much nature as possible. Rob helped us find the perfect location, and was willing to take us through some off the trail paths to capture some of our favorite photos from the shoot. He even recommended our wedding band, who kept all the guests dancing till the very end.

The wedding photos are stunning. I’ve never had so many people compliment a choice of photographer as I did for our wedding. Rob was able to surprise us and the guests with a slide show of some early access photos from the day. It was such a unique experience, that everyone enjoyed. My uncle was even joking that people were so captivated looking at the photos they didn’t even need to talk to us.

Catch Them Feels!

For my now Hubby and I, one of the biggest things is creating memories that we can look back on and still feel those feels! When we read that someone could do that, we were intrigued! We loved that he was not just saying that but actually meant it! Rob made us both feel so comfortable in our engagement photo shoot that the day flew by! Wow. Rob did an AMAZING job with my wedding this past September, and the engagement photos we took earlier in the year. I knew photography was going to be a priority for me, so Rob was one of the first vendors we booked. I looked at dozens of photographers, and Rob really stood out. I chose Rob as our photographer based off of the emotion / vibe he was able to capture in photos, and you did an absolutely amazing job at doing exactly that. We had an amazing time

We contacted Rob for our engagement photo shoot at the National Harbor. From the beginning Rob was very responsive and answered all our questions. He is extremely professional, talented and creative. The day of the photo shoot he made us feel at ease and made the whole experience stress free. Rob went above and beyond to capture our personalities and amazing backgrounds on every photo. Amazing photos, super professional wedding photographer

Rob is absolutely amazing!! He made us feel so comfortable on our wedding day, you couldn't even tell he was there. He captured all the precious moments of the day without intruding on them. He was so easy to work with and was flexible on payment options. Our friends and family are going crazy over the photos. Wedding photos are forever, we are SO glad we picked Rob! Superb in every way

Rob is awesome!! We worked with him for our engagement and wedding photos, including our two young (step)kids. He was fabulous with the kiddos--very patient and coached them into adorable smiles without any cheese :).

We loved working with him too. He has an easy, friendly outgoing manner and is super flexible without being shy about offering his professional opinion to get the best shot. We asked to add a second photographer for our wedding about a month out...Rob found Miles, who was just as helpful and easy to work with!

Looking at the content of the photos, Rob also has a quick intuitive understanding of who to focus on and who was important to capture among our guests. He relishes finding all the beautiful little details too.

Of course, the images themselves are fantastic. A couple of his photos are marquee images for Skyland Lodge and Shenandoah National Park. Rob's portfolio I think speaks for itself even better than I can. You know what they say about pictures and words... Check it out for sure! You'll want to hire Rob right away!

Amazing!

Rob was absolutely amazing! He was the best vendor that we had for our wedding. From the first day we met until after the wedding, he was great at always communicating with us and ensuring that we had everything that we needed and more. I would recommend him 200%. He was my right hand on the day of the wedding, kept me calm, on time and took unbelievable photos without making you feel like he was there. He captured the true essence of the day and his pictures are a true art work. My guest were so blown away and we are still receiving complements on our pictures. Professional service, amazing photos

Hiring Rob as our photographer was one of the best decisions we made when planning our wedding! The photos we received from both our engagement shoot and wedding day are absolutely beautiful and vibrant. He took his time to naturally capture the moments that were most important to us and our personalities. Beyond the amazing pictures, Rob was professional and organized in the planning process and very comfortable to work with. After the wedding, my mom commented that it was like having a cousin taking photos- he blended in seamlessly with the group and made everyone feel at ease. Rob took all of the stress of coordinating this part of our day off of our shoulders- he was always a step ahead in working with any obstacles (like a thunderstorm and tornado warning!). We cannot recommend Rob highly enough!

The most competent, professional, and caring photography experience you can have.

Evident immediately upon his arrival were two things: the passion he has for photography and the compassion he has for those he photographs. I've historically never enjoyed having my picture taken, but I felt at ease as he captured the interactions with my family in a very natural manner rather than forced and posed shots. It wouldn't be overstatement to say that the pictures Rob took of my family are the best photos we have of the three of us, and the way he captured the happiness and energy of my son and the loveliness of my wife was peerless. I greatly appreciate his work and his incredible competence and recommend him highly for any photography needs you might have.

Our engagement photos are EPIC!!!

Rob is seriously one of the coolest and down to earth photographers, we have ever met! My wife and I had the opportunity to work with Rob back in September for our engagement photos. Before our shoot, Rob took the time to learn more about us as a couple and the vision we had for our engagement shoot. He takes the time to ask the right questions and really understand what your specific vision is for your shoot even when you don't have a clear idea of how you would like it to go. We wanted to do an outdoor shoot in Shenandoah and with Rob's experience shooting they're he was able to provide us with a few different places we could shoot! I'm so glad we took his advice because it was spot on! We did a 20-minute hike up Little Stony Man and arrived at a backdrop from heaven! The timing and weather were perfect because Rob knew the right tools to pull this off. Our vision was to have epic photos with a scenic backdrop and let me tell you... the photos were EPIC! During the shoot, Rob was so flexible and creative in his shots. We even did a small nighttime sesh after the sun was set and somehow he caught a shooting star in our nighttime photo! If you don't believe me, look below. I could write a whole page and more of why Rob is amazing, but I think this will give you enough information to make the right choice. Extremely Talented - Would Highly Recommend!

From the first time we made contact with Rob, I was sold by his responsiveness and friendliness. His portfolio caught my attention because I could tell he had an amazing eye for each place he photographed. For our engagement session, he was supposed to give us an hour and I am pretty sure it took 3+ hours - which he did not complain about at all and even offered an additional location! He is so passionate about what he does and is willing to wait for the perfect lighting to take the best photo. He was great at keeping in touch leading up to our wedding day and was so wonderful the day of. Rob did a great job of making sure all of our photos happened in the best lighting/scenery and most importantly in a timely fashion. He got such amazing pictures of my husband and I, the family, the wedding party, and everyone who attended the wedding. There were 2 photographers present, but it felt like there were 10 - not because of their huge presence (actually they did a great job of blending in), but because of how much they accomplished in such a short time frame. They not only took pictures of EVERYTHING and EVERYONE, but they printed out individual pictures of me and each of my bridesmaids and gave it to them as gifts, printed out some favorite photos and made a small photo book for me, AND he got a slideshow up of pictures that was running by the bar area at the reception. I honestly don't know how he and his assistant got it all done, but it was unbelievable. I had so many comments about how wonderful the photographers were and now that the pictures are out the compliments keep pouring in. I would recommend Rob to anyone who wants someone who is not only incredibly talented with a great eye, but a wonderful person who truly cares about your day.

Best Photographer Around!

Rob was able to capture the exact story we wanted in our engagement pictures! He was able to make two locations happen and still capture sunset pictures! He was quick to communicate in all of his responses and got our pictures to us in like a two weeks even with it being in the middle of wedding season! He puts his heart and soul into taking your pictures. You will not find a better photographer out there!

Couldn't have asked for any better!

Choosing Rob to be our photographer for our Hindu Wedding was one of the best decisions we made. If we had to do it all over again, he would still be the one we choose. I can't say enough wonderful things about Rob. From the moment we chatted with him, we knew that he would deliver exactly what we were looking for. He is extremely professional and talented. He managed to capture so many beautiful candid moments throughout all of our events. He captured every small detail including our outfits, ceremonies, decor, dances, and candid moments of our families and friends. Incredible Photographer

Rob Jinks is phenomenal! My husband and I were looking for someone who could photograph our wedding in an artistic way. We wanted more than your standard wedding photos and searched for weeks in hopes of finding a photographer that understood our vision. When we came across Rob's website, we felt the energy in his photos and saw that he captures the most incredible moments with his lens. You can also tell how much he loves his job the moment you speak with him. His upbeat personality, attention to detail and thoughtful questions immediately put us at ease. Our guests loved Rob! Rob came recommended to us by close friends. He did not disappoint. He was able to accommodate us last minute. The idea behind our shoot was unique and he did not hesitate to jump on board with little notice. This being our first time doing something like this we were quite nervous. Rob quickly dispelled those feelings. Shortly after meeting him we felt comfortable in the moment. He provided excellent guidance throughout the experience. We really enjoyed the creativity of his photos, and he welcomed our suggestions for certain shots. Afterwards Rob did a fantastic job of setting expectations on timelines. Rob Jinks was by far our favorite vendor. We reached out to him fairly early in our planning process and booked him a little less than 2 years prior to our wedding. This gave us a lot of time before we needed to utilize his services but he kept in touch with us via phone and text along the way. He checked in with us to see if we needed any other vendors that he could put us in contact with and he also connected with our vendors to ensure our day went by without issues.
He consulted with us before we booked him and he took his time going over all of our options and worked with us to determine what would work best for our needs. Once we booked him, we did our engagement shoot months later, we were both a little nervous not having been professionally photographed before but he put us at ease and it was really a moment for us to get to know him and for him to understand our relationship. He took the time to understand what was important to us so he could tell our story the best he could. All of that preparation resulted in a beautiful wedding day shoot and beautiful photos. The quality of his pictures are like i've never seen. He also throws in gifts along the way. For Christmas he gifted us a print from our engagement shoot and after the wedding he sent magnet of one of our portraits.
Feedback that I also got from my guest was that he captured moments without being intrusive. This to me meant everything because I've been to weddings where you can not enjoy the ceremony because the photographers are everywhere.
Rob is also very creative and if you are open to trying different things you will love the results. For instance I had these little light up rings at our wedding that he and his assistant played around with and it resulted in beautiful pictures during the reception and very cool photos of our wedding rings. He is also writes a blog about each couple further showing that he develops lasting relationships.

We can't say enough about how amazing Rob was in capturing our wedding weekend. He was attentive to our needs, our likes and dislikes when it came to how we wanted our special moments captured from the beginning. His ability to make a connection with everyone at our wedding, most importantly our close family and friends, helped in capturing some truly amazing candid moments. As everyone that goes through this process will understand, it isn't humanly possible to hold on to every moment and slow down enough, but Rob was able capture it all for us. It truly felt like there were five Robs documenting our events, but it was only Rob most of the time (Miles - thank you as well for the truly amazing pictures!). Our wedding was his first time at our venue, and you couldn't tell because of the research he did by showing up early, and the creative eye that is just so natural to him. Same goes for our culturally diverse weekend, which he captured oh so well! His ability to cater to our individual needs, while inserting his style and professionalism is what we appreciate the most - and something we are still in awe about. Most importantly, we felt like we made a friend, who spent a lot of time with us, during what can be some pretty personal moments. Even a month after our wedding, our wedding party and parents keep talking about Rob and his personal touches and ability to connect with each of them in his own way.

One of the biggest pieces of advice I received while planning my wedding was to make sure I had a good photographer. After working with Rob, I wholeheartedly agree with that advice! A friend of mine attended a wedding which Rob photographed, so she showed me his blog post from that wedding and I was very impressed. Rob was very easy to work with - responsive, friendly, proactive, and organized. He helped me plan out my wedding day itinerary to maximize the best photo opportunities, while still getting to enjoy the reception as much as possible. Our wedding party and relatives all commented how fun and personable Rob was. Just a few days after the wedding, Rob posted a blog post with a preview of our photos. Then, only a couple weeks later, he had finished the entire gallery of our pictures! The turnover time was amazing, and even better than that, the pictures were absolutely breathtaking. My friends and I were in tears reliving the day and seeing just how beautifully Rob captured the entire day. Rob truly does tell a story with his photos - you could feel the emotions and the love just by clicking through the gallery. Rob was the perfect photographer for our event. From the moment he arrived, his experience began to show. His set up was minimally intrusive and during the candid portion of the shoot, he captured all of the action without invading anyone's personal space. The posed portrait session moved quickly and efficiently, and he even tacked on some unplanned outdoor portraits that turned out to be some of the best of the day. And that's saying something because when the photographs arrived, we were completely wowed. My husband and I eloped in Shenandoah National Park over our spring break. We were in touch with Rob early on about our non-traditional plans and he completely understood our vision. He helped us to plan out the day well in advance since we did not know the area and provide very helpful suggestions for hair and make up as well. We really felt that we were in good hands on the day of our elopement. Rob was in the background capturing all of the moments that were so important to us. I was extremely blessed to have Rob Jinks as my photographer for my April 2018 wedding. He was a joy to work with, very helpful, knowledgeable, and overall amazing person. He helped guide me through the whole process, which I was immensely grateful for. Rob was very organized and understanding regarding crazy wedding timelines. Likewise he is fun to work with and comes up with inventive & spontaneous photo opportunities. During the day he encouraged us to just be ourselves and to enjoy our day. Everyone had a blast the whole day, I smiled so much that my face hurt the next day. I like to think he also enjoyed our antic of singing and carrying on.
Our wedding was so much fun and I feel that all of the photos reflect that. I was so excited to see the photos and I was not disappointed. They were all fantastic. Yes, we did have the traditional posed and orderly group/family pictures, which look exquisite. Yet, but favorites are all the candids. They truly show the feeling of the evening of joy, frivolity, love, and nerdyness. He has an eye for images that evoke a feeling and really capture a moment in time (I can look at any picture and almost hear the music and laugher in the background). As I have said before I absolutely love Rob Jinks’ work, I can’t say enough good things about him or his work.

It was an honor to have worked with Rob. I was seeking a photographer who shared the same passion that I do in the custom made to measure garment business but what I found was a photographer who had more passion and experience than I would have ever imagined. Wow I can't believe I haven't left Rob a review until now! What an amazing person, majorly talented with a true passion for what he is doing. First of all Rob and his assistant went above and beyond for our wedding, arriving early, scoping out the property and being patient with us even when we were running behind. He really knows how to scope out the scenery and use every last possible inch of a location to capture the perfect photo. He had so many ideas during our shoot that we almost had to chase him around the vineyard to keep up!! It was exactly what I wanted with such a diverse and beautiful venue. Such a great person, too. Kept us laughing and captured our day perfectly. I was a little disappointed immediately after the wedding that we did not hire a videographer but when I saw Rob's photos, it didn't matter because his photos literally told the story of our special day. I can't say enough wonderful things about him... if you haven't booked him yet, do it now!!! :)

We got married in February and Rob handled our engagement shoot and wedding day photos. He was always prompt in responding to any of our questions or inquiries and was reliable and on-time for all of our appointments. More importantly, we LOVED the pictures he took. I was really impressed with the save-the-date photos he took for us and our engagement photos that day but the wedding pictures blew those away. We couldn't have been happier with him and his co-photographer that day. They captured all of the moments we wanted them to and many more that we wouldn't have experienced otherwise.

Rob was an easy choice due to his experience shooting at our wedding venue (Skyland, in Shenandoah National Park) but he met and exceeded all expectations we had.

He seemed genuinely interested in us and our story which I think really helped him connect with us and get the shots we were hoping for. So while taking time out of the day for photos is not always the most fun, he made it fun and easy.

And of course, all that would be worth nothing if the photos were not great, but the photos indeed came out really nice, even with the bad weather we had on our wedding day.

5 stars and would absolutely recommend Rob to others and will certainly consider him again for any other evens we might need.

Rob did a fantastic job shooting our September wedding in Alexandria, VA. He was great walking us through the process of everything he needed from us prior to the big day. I was a bride who worked long hours and traveled often, so was not the best at communicating with my vendors. Rob was super patient with me, and made sure that when the day of came, everything would go smoothly (photography wise). He took some beautiful photos, and we had a preview within days of our wedding. It was really exciting to see Rob's blog post with pictures while we were on our honeymoon, so we could reminisce on how much fun we had with our family and friends. We got our final online set of photos 1 month to the day of our wedding, and have really enjoyed being able to share them with family and friends. Rob has been very helpful for our family members as well, whom had special requests. Him and his assistant were very professional and fun the day of the wedding & had a lot of energy, which was certainly needed to keep up with our crowd during the reception! The pictures went from soft and sweet during the ceremony, to fun & exciting during the reception. We loved some of the moments he captured, and are excited to put our favorites together for the physical photo album that came with our package :-)

Rob went above am down beyond my expectations as a photographer. He was super helpful, easy to reach, flexible in his schedule, and just an incredibly kind person. When taking our engagement photos he suggested a great place to photograph and being my husband's and mine first time being professionally photographed we were really nervous about being awkward, but Rob made us feel so comfortable and everything was very natural. The same was true with our wedding photos. Everything was natural and nothing forced. On the day of the wedding he stopped by and gave me my favorite tea and brought my husband coffee, which we were not expecting at all! Like I said a very kind and caring person and a wonderful photographer, I would definitely recommend him for your big day!

Rob was the photographer for our Fall 2016 engagement portraits and September 2017 wedding. From the moment we started taking pictures, I knew the pictures would turn out phenomenally - and we were even more thrilled when we (and all our family & friends) saw the final product! Rob's keen eye for the classic, artistic, and unexpected comes out in each and every picture. He works hard to capture the personality of the couple and others in the pictures so each picture tells a story. He quickly picked up on our "willing to try anything" personality and pushed us to get some amazing shots. We could not be more pleased with the outcome and highly recommend Rob!

Rob has the God-given talent of freezing that special moment in time and capturing the raw emotion of the day. As I scrolled through all of the prints of our vow renewal ceremony, I couldn't help but smile ear-to-ear, and even found I had shed a tear or two, at the beauty he caught. Very personable, with a creative vision like no other (if you don't believe me, just visit his blog). Rob Jinks was our wedding photographer for our June 2017 wedding and we are so glad we booked him! We had our wedding at Skyland Resort in Shenandoah National Park and it was beautiful. Rob was very familiar with the location and was able to capture the most amazing photographs. We had Rob also shoot our engagement photos along with my bridal portrait shoot. These were very good experiences and gorgeous photos, even though both had such terrible weather! We had wind and rain for the engagement photos and I took my bridal portraits in 25 degree cold! He was very professional and really has a knack for taking truly unique photos. He wasn’t shy to “get in there” when needed during the wedding day to capture truly amazing photos. Our “wow” shot that I envisioned since the day I booked him could honestly not have turned out any better. We were blessed with amazing weather on our June wedding day and just loved how all our pictures turned out. Book Rob for your wedding photos and you will not be disappointed. He will be able to capture the memories perfectly, leaving you with no worries. All you’ll need to worry is having a fantastic time on your wedding day.

We loved working with Rob for our wedding and engagement photos. He was able to answer all of our questions beforehand and made sure to capture every moment of our special day. He also had a gallery of our wedding photos available less than a week after we got married. He puts a lot of thought and effort into the composition of the photos, and they are all beautiful. We are thrilled that we chose Rob for our wedding photographer and would happily recommend him and use him for future photos.

We hired Rob for our engagement session and wedding after seeing fantastic his work from our friends' wedding, and we are so happy we got to work with him. Rob was patient and flexible throughout our engagement shoot - he is pretty hands-off and appreciates the candid moments, so I had to ask him to make sure we weren't making any crazy faces. Bonus, Rob is super nice and great to work with. Our engagement shoot was like hanging out with a friend who happened to be taking our pictures. We just got our full set of pictures back and they are amazing. He did such a great job capturing the beautiful moments that I honestly don't even remember because the wedding day was such a blur - it is so nice to be able to look back at the pictures! Rob was awesome! Our pictures were perfect. We are still getting compliments. My fiancé and I really wanted to take our pictures in Shenandoah, since that is where he proposed to me and we love hiking. I searched and searched for a photographer who had taken engagement photos in the mountains. I specifically wanted someone that would capture amazing views (not just standing by trees, etc.). Rob was our guy! Not only was he able to capture natural and loving shots of me and my fiancé, but he captured GORGEOUS background shots. He has great vision. He walked around the mountain with such ease, and knew just where all the good shots were. He was very responsive and accommodating. When I received my photos, he made all the edits I requested, and made them promptly. Great photographer!

My husband and I (and my mom!) are so happy we worked with Rob. Our wedding photos are amazing. I keep looking at them and love them more each time. They do a great job of capturing how happy my husband and I were on the wedding day, as well as how much fun our friends and family had. I have no idea how I will pick which photos to frame and put in the album - there are too many good ones! Rob was also extremely easy to work with. He was always responsive to my emails, arrived early on the wedding day, and sent me the photos very quickly after the wedding. Both Rob and his assistant were so nice, and even though they appeared relaxed and laid back, I know they were working hard to make sure we got all the best photos I really couldn't recommend Rob more! Thank you!

Rob did an impromptu newborn shoot for us and has become our official family photographer. Never thought we'd have a single, go-to photographer, but now that we have seen Rob's work, we can't see ourselves using anyone else. He is an artist. And to boot, he works quickly. He has a candid style and is easy to work with. Highly recommended!

I can't stop looking at my wedding pictures!!!! They are gorgeous. I've received SO many compliments on our engagement and wedding pictures. I am so happy we chose Rob as our photographer. He is very professional and friendly. Rob has an amazing eye for finding the beauty and uniqueness in every moment and capturing it. Our engagement pictures were taken at the Shenandoah National Park and the pictures were breathtaking. Rob's pictures are so real, natural, and candid. Looking back through our wedding pictures, I was amazed at how stealthy Rob and his assistant were, I didn't even notice their presence for some of the pictures yet they were able to capture everything! Rob is very reasonably priced and he really is one of the best wedding decisions we made. There really aren't enough words to describe how happy we are with his services.

If we had to name the wedding decisions we were the most happy about, choosing Rob Jinks as our Photographer would be one of those decisions. He was very personable, friendly, and professional. Our engagement shoot was in Washington, DC and after meeting him and seeing the photos from that shoot, we immediately felt relaxed because we knew our wedding would be in good hands. He took the time to get to know us and the type of photos we were most interested in. His work is absolutely stunning and our photos turned out far beyond our expectations. We got married in Shenandoah, and Rob was very excited to try an idea with us, to hike to the top of Stony Man for a photoshoot in our wedding dress and suit. We are so happy we went for it because, the photos turned out incredible! They looked like they were straight out of a romance movie ;) In addition, he caught lots of wonderful candid moments that covered everything from our special day and tell an amazing story of our wedding. We never expected to have such memorable and beautiful wedding photos. We will always recommend Rob to our friends and family and we know if you choose Rob, it'll be one of your best wedding decisions.
