Wedding photography excellence!
My now-husband took the lead on choosing our wedding photographer. Being an amateur photographer himself, I knew he’d have a clear vision on what to look for. After reviewing several portfolios he said “found the one!” There was no second choice. Rob's pictures really resonated with us like no others.
Our wedding day was not easy for Rob and his assistant, Craig. July 1 was a really hot, steamy day, it poured 20 minutes before the ceremony began and we had to mad dash to the main building. Rob was completely agile with all the changes and explained everything along the way. True professional!
We love our gallery so much! All the tenderness, funny moments, the joy and meaningfulness of our religious elements captured—not only are the photos gorgeous but they immediately transport us and our guests to each moment’s feeling.

Rob and his team were phenomenal. They truly made the day so incredibly special— and ensured everything we asked them to do, became a reality. We couldn’t have imagined a better photographer — and the pictures came out better than we could’ve dreamed. The posed shots were great, but what was truly magical was the way Rob and his team captured the candid moments. The moments we’ll be able to remember forever. If you’re looking for someone to capture your special day, don’t look any further. -

Best Wedding Photographer!!
There just aren’t enough words to possibly describe how amazing each and every photo Rob captures. We originally reached out to him to photograph our intimate wedding at The Omni Homestead Resort. As soon as we saw his portfolio, we knew we had to see if he was available for our day. After chatting with him and emailing back and forth we quickly realized he was not only an amazing photographer but such a sweet, friendly, and wonderful person! Rob has a magical way of finding the perfect angle, lighting and of course expressions. He was instantly able to put my family at ease and capture some truly stunning photographs. He was incredibly patient with my two- and three-year-old niece and nephew and even let them have turns taking pictures! He captured every moment that mattered in such a remarkable way and all the moments we didn’t even realize made up the little bits of our day. My absolute favorite picture from our wedding was in a location Rob mentioned to us after our ceremony on a whim and I will be forever thankful he took the extra time to walk us down to the location and capture these moments. Not only did Rob go above and beyond on our day (he really is the nicest and kindest man you’ll ever meet!) he delivered our entire wedding portfolio two days after the wedding. Looking back at all the special and sweet moments he captured made us feel like we were reliving the best day of our lives! We have had so many friends and family tell us we have some of the best wedding photos they’ve seen. We will treasure all his photos forever and have wonderful memories captured. I simply cannot recommend Rob enough!! -

Amazing Photographer & Person
I truly cannot fully express how amazing Rob was to work with. We originally reached out to Rob because we loved the authenticity and emotion captured in his photographs, but after chatting with him on the phone for the original consultation, we realized he is truly a fantastic human! He photographed both our engagement shoot in downtown Charlottesville and our wedding at Barn at Edgewood. As we walked around downtown, we were shocked at how many people knew who he was and how friendly he was. Having him around during the wedding day put me and my husband at ease. It just felt like he and Craig were an extension of our family to be honest. They were both so kind throughout the process, but also truly skilled. They were able to adjust my husband and I to capture some truly stunning pictures and also be alert enough to capture those little moments happening around us. As my husband and I reviewed the photos (which he got back to us so quickly), we were reliving the emotions all over again. We are forever grateful to Rob and Craig for making the day so special! -

Rob Garland shot our rehearsal dinner and wedding day and did an OUTSTANDING job. Rob was so easy and nice to work with leading up to the wedding, very responsive and accommodating. He was extremely quick to provide the edited finished photos which was awesome because we couldn’t wait to see them! He caught every moment and the photos really do tell a beautiful love story. Amazing Work and Fast Turnaround!
Rob and Craig went above and beyond for our wedding day. They showed up early and were dressed professionally, got every shot we were hoping for and more, and managed a lot of strong personalities. The UVA Chapel is really dark and hard to shoot in but all of our photos were amazing (and they didn’t have to put a black and white filter on to get rid of shadows). They shot thousands photos and gave us a gallery with over 1400. Their turnaround time for the full gallery is a month or less, and we got our photos in about two weeks (I’ve had friends wait three months or more in the Charlottesville area). -

They were so respectful during the ceremony and other moments at the reception, but captured our wedding beautifully. They are truly talented photographers. They really captured the story of our wedding day. We really enjoyed seeing some of the little moments we weren't a part of that our guests shared. They captured some very special moment throughout the night. We received almost 1000 pictures and there isn't a single one we don't love! -
User2429747 Sent on 11/16/2015We worked with Rob both for our engagement photos and our wedding photos. His level of dedication to his art and to making his clients happy is unparallel. On the day of our engagement session, it started raining. Rob not only met us early but also listened to what we wanted for our photos, which was to capture the natural beauty of the Shenandoah Valley during sunset. He changed the location to try to avoid the rain (which we did!) and decided we should leave earlier to try to get some photos in case it started raining out there. Well, it never rained and as it cleared, we thought there still might be a great sunset. Rob drove us all around skyline drive and spent extra time with us at no charge because he knew I really wanted sunset photos. We ended up experiencing something extraordinary as the sun turned bright pink as it set. He truly went above and beyond that day but we realized that he always does that. Rob is also one of the happiest people you have ever met which makes working with him extremely pleasant and fun. On the day of the wedding, Rob would do anything for the perfect shot including laying on the floor at the reception (which many wedding guests commented on how incredible he was because they had never seen a wedding photographer do that before!). We love our wedding pictures as both he and his assistant captured so many amazing moments during the day! They are so beautiful and we are so happy we had the chance to work with him on our wedding day. He was wonderful to work with during the whole wedding planning process, our engagement session and at our wedding. He is so talented and we were grateful that we had him photographing our wedding. We can’t thank him enough for perfectly capturing our wedding day.
