We got married here at the end of September! It ended up being the only venue we toured, because I fell in love with it. Mike was easy to communicate with and set up a tour for us to walk around it, then was kind enough to hold the date for us while we made the final choice. It was definitely an affordable venue, and then we used Metro Rental for all the chairs and tables, as that isn’t included. I loved how much space there was and being right on the water. There’s also many areas for photos around the water and lawns. They also have a big selection of lights and drapery to hang up, which made it even better! Definitely recommend! -

This location has it all! We were able to have our ceremony, cocktail hour, reception and exit all in one location for a very reasonable price! The Festival Park was the perfect background for our big day and our guests raved about how beautiful everything was. Mike was phenomenal and so flexible with us as we had to rearrange things with our postponement. -

My husband and I couldn't have been happier in choosing this venue. Mike and the rest of the staff were extremely helpful throughout the entire planning process as well as the day of. Our guests couldn't stop talking about the breathtaking views this park has to offer. Best day of my life! -

Beautiful and spacious venue
This venue made our wedding day perfect!! We had the best water views for our vows and still had water views for our reception. We had our ceremony on the lawn behind the pavilion and our reception in the pavilion. Mike Shipley was a HUGE help to help make our visions come true. He was so patient with us and set up calls anytime we had questions. We cannot say enough about Mike Shipley, his staff and this venue. It is quiet, private, best water views and the Perfect indoor/outdoor venue!! -

Me and my wife wanted a beach front wedding. But after finding this place we couldn't pass it up. Right on the sound with stunning views, and amazing stage and plenty of lawn space for games, vender and a beautiful send off.
We are very happy we went with RFP and the staff did such a great job. My wife had a custom grooms cake made for me and I wanted to save it. Somehow we forgot it, when cleaning up they found it and took it to a fridge on location to insure it would be save and still good when we came back.
Overall we are so Happy we picked RFP and they did such an amazing job making our wedding night a special one. -
Rose Sent on 06/08/2018This was the perfect venue for our daughters wedding. So flexible. We made quite a few last minute changes due to the weather and they were so accommodating. There are so many options too. We didn’t feel like we were recreating what everyone else had already done. We were able to make it uniquely our own while still being dramatic and beautiful.
Mike and his team were so very helpful. They never made me feel like I was being mom-zilla when I called and emailed with more questions. We had the perfect experience! -

Katlin Sent on 06/05/2018We are extremely happy we to have had our wedding at Roanoke Festival Park. Guests still continue to tell us how awesome the venue was. The views were perfect even being overcast. They had a back up plan in case of rain for us as well (which we were lucky not to have to use). We added the light stands to the ceiling last minute and it was a perfect touch. The pier at the venue allowed for us to get some amazing pictures as well! Now, I can't imagine having our wedding anywhere else!

Kelly Sent on 11/07/2017This location truly made our wedding dreams come true. It offers the beauty of the Outer Banks surrounded by the Sound and beautiful greenery. The venue itself is huge. Our wedding was approx 100 people and there was ample amount of space. We had our ceremony Soundside, cocktail hour in front, and the reception on the stage. You can make this space intimate or spread out. We loved that my wife and I, along with our bridal parties could get ready at this venue. This venue offers multiple dressing rooms with the best lighting, AC unit, and bathrooms in each room. It's so practical! Mike Shippley is THE MAN. We got the lighting package and he took time to meet with us to talk about our options, showed great examples, and was our point person for whatever we needed. He made sure that the lights we bought to hang were done beautifully, also ensured our state flags were hung, and I'm sure so much more!! He was there at our rehearsal to assist with unloading and stayed our entire wedding to make sure lighting and whatever else went off without a hitch!! Thank you RIFP!! -

Gina Sent on 08/22/2016This is a beautiful outdoor setting at the Sound! There is a covered stage area with bridal/wedding party room, rest rooms, plenty of dance floor space, great lighting (standard lighting package included in the $3000 all day venue rental as of 2016), power, storage areas. Both sides of stage have extensive grassed areas for seating, appetizer tables, bar, etc. We had about 170 guests and everyone had more than enough space. The electrician stayed on site to ensure the event went smoothly. His efforts are worth a tip! The venue does not include tables or chairs, but rental companies nearby can accommodate you. This venue’s contract requires a “Day Of” Wedding Planner. We used Beth Pallet of Engaging Events and she comes highly recommended! The only alcohol allowed to be served is wine, champagne and beer. Guests didn’t mind this restriction. There was adequate time for set up and clean up. The staff was very pleasant. There is plenty of parking. Our guests were allowed to leave their vehicles parked overnight to avoid any unsafe driving. We had the premises sprayed for mosquitoes, and had no issues with bugs. Because of the temperamental weather, you might want to consider a tent, but we were assured that we could fit up to 200 people on the stage. As a precaution, you may want to get Wedding Insurance (we used R V Nuccio and Associates - $475 for our scenario in 2016) because payments are non-refundable and Manteo has been evacuated for hurricanes in the past. We also got liability insurance coverage included in that cost. The venue has back up emergency rooms to bring your party inside if it’s an all day soaker. It was a hot day, so recommend your guests know to dress accordingly and make sure your caterer has plenty of water! -

Our guest count of 100 was perfect size for the stage. Anymore guests and it probably would’ve felt a little cramped. The water view was I credible and the grounds were landscapes beautifully. I recommend having a wedding planner with this venue since chairs, tables, etc. aren’t provided with the venue. Your planners should be able to set that up for you day of. We added string lights to the stage which made a huge difference too! Mike was great to work with. -
