Cermeony, Cocktail Hour, and Reception venue
We had the most “perfect” day, because we choose to use these venues. Prior to our wedding day, Peggy did so much for us to put us at ease. On our wedding day Peggy made sure that every little detail was perfect and we had no stress at all!! She was truly amazing to work with. Having our wedding at these venues truly made our wedding day! We HIGHLY recommend uses them! -

Beautiful from the inside out
I used the Riverside Landing for my bridal shower in June of 2016. The place was absolutely gorgeous and setting up different elements such as the seating, cookie table and wine bar were perfect for the different structures they have in the room. I feel bad that I do not recall the coordinators name for the banquet hall,but she was on point and made the process extremely easy. I hope to go back for my baby shower! -

Very beautiful
Very beautiful place for a reception. Outside balcony is amazing overlooking the river. Great people to work with and very responsive and flexible. Better for a smaller wedding around 100. -

I worked with Joy at Riverside Landing for a celebration of life for my Grandmother who recently passed away. Prior to talking with her I called several places who treated me terribly in the mist of her recent death and didn't even acknowledge this fact. Joy was a breath of fresh air, seriously. She was so accommodating, understanding, attentive and respectful it made the hard times a little easier. The venue was beautiful and the wait staff was so kind, not to mention the food was delicious! Thank you to everyone who made a sad day a wonderful celebration! -

My husband and I had our wedding reception here on May 20, 2017. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Joy lived up to her name. She was an absolute joy to work with! We didn't have any stress when it came to the reception, the service, the decoration/set up. It was absolutely beautiful! It was without doubt the best night of our lives! Food was amazing and prices were very reasonable! -

We held our reception at Riverside and could not have made a better choice. The location was perfect: easy to find and navigate between our ceremony site and overnight accommodations, and back to the area's major highways for our traveling guests. Katelyn was a dream to work with; she was very responsive and easy to communicate with, a knowledgeable manager, and so helpful in helping put together our ideal evening. We really appreciated the ease of booking at Riverside, and that we were able to have our food, bar, linens, and chairs included for one price. We were able to access the venue the day before the wedding to set up and prepare, and the final product was absolutely gorgeous. We used Phaturos A-1 Catering, and they were just as wonderful to work with as Katelyn. I never imagined that I would find such wonderful, caring professionals to work with for my wedding, but Frank and Katelyn exceeded my expectations!! -

We had our wedding reception of approximately 100 people at Riverside Landings in August of 2016 and we couldn't have asked for a more perfect venue!
When we were looking for venues we were very mindful of staying within our budget. Riverside Landings had our attention right away with their pricing. We loved the idea that this was an "all inclusive" venue! The per person price got us the venue rental, the food, the bar, tables, basic centerpieces, and linens. We loved that they only do one event per day, so we had flexibility to plan our day and not worry about being rushed out. We decided to do a lunch reception (starting at 1:00 for cocktail hour) and their lunch prices are amazing!
We met with Katelyn Larsen, the events manager, and we were highly impressed with her. She is professional, friendly, accommodating, and knows her stuff. After our first meeting with her we made the decision that day to put down a deposit! On the day before the wedding she was there to help with set up and ensure that we felt comfortable with how everything looked and felt.
The venue itself is gorgeous! I love the light that comes in from the huge picture windows, the balcony that overlooks the river, and the gauzy material that is draped around the room with white lights. Basically, the room is gorgeous as-is and very little decorating is required. I also loved the fact that there is a separate room off of the main area where they set up the buffet.
Last, but not least, the buffet from Phaturos catering was delicious! We had several gluten sensitive attendees and they were very accommodating and helped us select a menu that would please everyone.
My husband and I are so happy we found Riverside Landings. They helped to make our day so perfect. I would recommend this venue to anyone looking to host a wedding reception or other special event. -

I cannot say enough about how fantastic everyone was at Riverside Landings and the Greek Orthodox Social Hall. Katelyn and her team went above and beyond to ensure that both our wedding and my bridal shower were everything I ever could have ever imagined. Katelyn was incredibly quick to respond to all my questions, which made the planning process a breeze. She was incredibly accommodating and even had a few surprises for us up her sleeve, like all the fixens for our margarita machine. Both halls are absolutely stunning and when they are lit up, you feel like you truly are living your fairytale. The food was also delicious. We got so many complements about Phatutos Catering, and their staff truly treated us like family. If you are looking for a great venue that is fairly priced, beautiful, and with amazing staff, this is your place! -

Katelyn was great. She worked hard to make sure everything turned out perfectly for our special day. The hall itself is beautiful, and the cost is pretty moderate compared to other venues. We couldn't be happier about how everything turned out. -

Book this venue! The customer service was exceptional and Katelyn was a fantastic representative of the venue. She responded to every one of our needs and made our day the party that we wanted it to be. We truly can't speak enough of Kateyln and her prompt response and attention to our needs. I will more than likely be using this venue in the future for other special family events! -

Our daughter's wedding reception was held in the Greek Social Hall. This venue is spacious and decorated beautifully. We literally did not have to add anything except our centerpieces and guests to make the perfect setting. Our guest list was considerably smaller than the venue can accommodate, however, it was set up in a way that made it appear quite cozy and comfortable. We received many compliments from our guests on the location and appearance of the venue. Katelyn and staff were extremely helpful in providing us the time we needed for set up. Additionally, they were a huge help at the end of the evening. Everything was handled exactly as we discussed prior to the event which made for a smooth evening with no stress. Absolutely no surprises! Katelyn was a joy to work with. I would certainly recommend this vendor and would consider it for future events. -

My wedding, which was on August 15, 2015, was perfect in every way. Our reception was at Riverside Landings and our guests commented on how nice it was to be able to use the deck. Katelyn is an amazing wedding coordinator. She was quick with responding to any question that came up and was willing to go above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. She accommodated our schedule when we needed to meet with her to finalize all of the details and was flexible when I changed my mind on a couple of things more than once. I would absolutely recommend this venue and Katelyn's expertise to any future bride. -

Where do I start with our wedding! We had an amazing day mostly because of the hard work and dedication of Katelyn and the Greek Orthodox Staff and Tony and staff of Veltre's. Katelyn went above and beyond for my wedding, not to mention she was newly hired three months before my wedding. She handle the transition with professionalism and respect! Met with me several times, sent me floor plans and kept communication open with email, texts and phone calls (even on a Sunday afternoon). We had Veltre's as the caterer and everyone is still raving about the food!! We had a large wedding of 285 and we still had leftover food!! Not to mention Veltre's staff decorated the food table with matching decor of my theme!! I was amazed and so very pleased with everything they did!! I would book with both venue and caterer again in a heartbeat!! Everyone was great to work with! -

This was the perfect place to have a reception. We had about 100 guests and were completely comfortable, let alone dazzled by the beautiful view over the river. The staff were so helpful throughout the whole process and were there for anything we needed. They accommodated my requests eagerly and were beyond amazing help. Especially when I sat on some chalk and it stained the back of my dress, they spent a good half an hour working on my dress trying to get it out. They went above and beyond at that point. It was a flawless evening otherwise and working with them up to that day was a pleasure and not a chore. They were very reasonably priced and you got the best quality for you money...more than I ever could have hoped and dreamed for. -

We had our wedding reception at the Greek Hall (the big hall). We were very pleased with everything. The hall was beautifully decorated with our colors. The lighting made the hall look exquisite. Our guests were very impressed with the hall. They were very accommodating with the amount of cookies that my Italian family made. We loved everything about the hall. My only suggestion would be to go back to being able to bring your own alcohol. Maybe give guests a choice. -

The hall looked beautiful. Food was excellent. Would definitely recommend Phaturo's. Only recommendation would be to keep the food line moving more quickly. We had both carved beef and carved ham. Only one person carving both. I believe this is what slowed everything down. Other than that, we couldn't have been happier with how everything turned out. Jessica was a true pleasure to work with, very professional yet always helpful. It was comforting to know she has the knowledge and experience of a true wedding coordinator. We valued her opinion greatly. All in all, it was a wonderful experience! -

I used Riverside Landing for my bridal shower and the Greek Orthodox Social Hall for my wedding reception. Both venues insanely affordable for how gorgeous they are. Riverside Landing has it's own unique personality as it overlooks the river. The Social Hall is so elegant. The staff is beyond friendly, attentive, and helpful. Anything and everything I needed was listened to and carried out. I received so many compliments on how beautiful the hall itself was. Veltre's provided the catering - I wouldn't have went with anyone else! -

Some lighting and decor is already provided. We didn't even need to provide anything else. One of their locations (both are right next to each other) looks over the river and was the one we used. There is an outdoor patio which is nice for the guests. Easy to work with and just a great addition to any wedding. -

We loved having our wedding here! We first looked into the Greek Orthodox Social Hall because my in-laws had their wedding there 30 years ago. The hall is beautiful - very elegant and clean. Also the hall is huge and could comfortably fit our 250 guests (the hall can fit way more people though - it is really spacious!). When we say the package prices we were sold - it really is a great value.
We used Phaturos catering and got lots of compliments about the food. Phaturos had a big tasting event for all of the couples so we got to try the food before we picked the menu.
Katelyn was great about communicating before the wedding. She made everything really easy.
Also - our wedding was the same weekend as the Oakmont Yacht Club Regatta and so there was a free fireworks show at the end of our reception! This was so cool and our guests really loved it. -

Jessica was very helpful on and before our wedding day. She was very informative and she tended to us throughout the whole reception. She was very flexible and went above and beyond to make our day special. She was very organized, very detail oriented, not to mention extremely easy to work with. She listened and understood what we were striving for on this day. She helped make our big day beautiful and stress free. We were very happy with her and we highly recommend her. Loved the hall. I worked with Greg and then he retired and I worked with Jessica. Greg sold me on riverside and a few things changed with the new manager, Jessica, but it was still amazing and I reccomend it!! -

Riverside Landing was a great place for a reception! The hall, which has an outside deck overlooking the river, was very charming and perfect for a fall wedding. While the hall manager can be a bit disorganzed and forgetful, he was always friendly and willing to make things work. We were very satisfied with Riverside! -

I loved Jessica. She was very sweet and was very accomadating with everything i wanted and needed! Riverside landing is beautiful! The outside deck makes the place!! Only complaint -- needed its own bridal suite! -

The banquet hall is beautiful. The food was excellent. The only thing that was unpleasant was that we could not get into the hall to bring or set up was until the morning of the wedding. We had to depend on friends to help because we were too busy. They had other events booked for the night before and also the next day. Therefore we had one hour after the wedding to pack all of our things and take them. They don't allow you to leave anything until the next day. -

Riverside Landing is a beautiful place to hold a reception. We chose it for several reasons. First, it is very nice inside and it over looks the Allegheny River. During the fall, it is so nice to look out the huge back windows to see the fall leaves. The hall is also very affordable. There are actually two halls on site, the Greek Orthodox Hall holds larger guests and requires at least 200 guests, while Riverside Landing requires 150 guests. The hall also provides 3 caterers to choose from and each of them is great! The only complaint I had was not being made aware of some little details before the wedding. -

Riverside Landing is a beautful facility located right on the river in Oakmont. It's a stand alone facility so you're not sharing your wedding venue with another party. There is a deck on the back that your guests can use, and the back of the facility is all glass. It's reasonably affordable and they were accommodating in terms of our requests such as an enormous head table and our request to relocate the DJ to a different location than they normally have the DJ set up.
Overall we were happy with the service we received from Riverside Landing. But our major complaint is that the hostess assigned to our reception was a nightmare - she was rude, not friendly at all, kept harassing the bride and groom and their parents about how much their guests were drinking, and even went so far as to tell the groom that if someone vomited at our reception that they wouldn't clean it up and that we would have to deal with vomit on the floor all night. This was stated very early in the night when NO ONE was even really drinking yet and when there was NOTHING to indicate that our guests might get out of hand. And of course, none of our guest were out of hand and no one was obnoxiously drunk, but the two hostesses were crazy all through the night. They were also very "present" throughout the reception, instead of hanging back in the shadows. As they were not invited to our reception, I didn't appreciate when they took a seat right near the dance floor. I don't know how a couple might be able to get around the crazy hostess issues if you're using this venue, but hopefully she's not they're only hostess.
The hostess ordeal really clouded our view of Riverside Landing, because it was such a negative experience, even though overall everything else was great. -

Overall I was pretty happy with having my wedding at Riverside Landings. It has a great outdoor deck area that was perfect for a summer wedding. It was really nice that we could bring in our own cookies and decorations. My main complaint is that they hold events back to back (Friday through Sunday) and they do not have any way of storing anything. We had to bring all of our decorations, etc, the day of the wedding and everything had to be out that night. It definitely made everything stressful. I also think the communication was lacking some. -

Hall was beatifully decorated for the holiday season. Staff was very helpful the day of the event. Cateror was fantastic, Phaturos is the best choice. Great food and you get more than you pay for! Catering company was very flexible on the menus as well. Evetnt Manager helped with the dessert tray from a local bakery. We had to go and get our on DJ. The only bad points. The hall does not have their liquor license and the bartenders ran out of change and were turning away guests.
Overall everyone had a great time and it was a wonderful event. -

I visited this venue back in January. The venue was beautiful, lights and chiffon were hanging from the ceiling and around the doorways. Couches and comfy chairs were placed up on an overlook of the river. So I booked the place immediately for a bridal shower in April 2018. Joy, who works with elegant catering was wonderful to work with. But a week before the bridal shower I received and email from Joy stating that all the lights and chiffon, couches and chairs were gone. They put a new ceiling in and were painting and eventually will be putting new carpet in. So I asked Joy who I needed to speak to about this and she gave me the name Peggy. So I met with Peggy on Tuesday before the shower. The place just looked like a conference room that just happens to overlook the river. The place had no character and did have that inviting feeling anymore. There was really nothing I could do to make it any better. I tried to tap into their WiFi and their WiFi was not working. So while I was there somebody had Comcast on the phone to get it fixed. Fast forward to the day of the shower. Joy mentioned she was going to be at the venue at 930 am and so I showed up at 930 am too. When I got there Joy met me at the door and said Don’t get upset..., so there was party at the venue the night before and no one cleaned up from that party. There were dirty dishes, linens, silverware, glasses everywhere. So there was a mad rush to clean everything up and set up for my party. My guests were finding silverware tossed sporadically on the floor. We were hanging Christmas lights up on the metal handrails in the attempt to get that inviting feeling back and when we went to plug them in... none of the outlets worked. So we ended up finding one outlet that worked and ran an extension cord from that outlet to my Christmas lights. Ok so now I had to use the WiFi so I can play my music playlist off of amazon music. The WiFi still didn’t work. I was able to fix that problem. Joy was awesome. -

The Venue in it's self was WONDERFUL along with All of the staff with the exception of the coordinator. She was tough to get a hold of, and for the most part unapologetic in laying out the wrong number of tables/seats for the guest in the preliminary plan, I had to carefully review everything because the original table layout didn't even have enough seats for my event ( after we provided a head count.) The caterer was amazing & the highlight was that since WE paid for the food it was ALL to wrapped & sent home with us- well again the coordinator had a big no no here, as my mother noticed a Large tray with the Coordinators name on it & when lifting the foil lid on this 9x13 foil take home tray saw that it held not 1 or 2 but 6 stuffed chicken breasts & half a pan of tortellini. Needless to say my mother took the tray because while we knew they fed the staff during the event (obviously) WE the people that PAID for this food were supposed to take ALL of it home & the coordinator didn't even as much as ask- if she had we would have been happy to share but not feed her family after she did a poor job in the first place. Also after hosting brunch the following day with they other leftovers noticed that an entire additional 9x13 had HER name on it & was full of our food. So, aside from the actual coordinator everything was amazing, but its sad to say that I feel SHE will have a very fast negative affect on this beautiful & price friendly little venue. -

They have new people operating this venue as the "exclusive" caterer. when they communicate with you, they don't do it well. I was left in the dark, a lot. They ran out of food for my wedding and 28 of my guests did not get to eat and they made zero effort to try to feed them. The staff was not remorseful nor did they care that my guests had to walk past them to ask for more plates because they ran out of those also. The bar package was shorted a bar tender and an hour of service. They did rectify the situation only after we insisted on sitting down with them. The owner was nice and was apologetic but again, did not follow through on his promises. We had to make 3 subsequent phone calls to get the matter 100% resolved. They don't do what they say they are going to do and I would never book any event with them again. They ruined my wedding and made it difficult to get things fully resolved. -

A nightmare
I chose this venue because of the location on the water, and also because my brother had his wedding in the corresponding hall across the parking lot. When I first booked it after I got engaged, I worked with Katelyn, who was a delight and I trusted her at once with my big day. I had a long engagement, so the next time I had a meeting at Riverside, I saw that Katelyn had left and Elegant Catering took over, which I considered fine, but quickly turned into a nightmare. All of the tastings went great, and the first small red flag I noticed was the EXTREMELY limited bar menu provided by Elegant Catering. Some options included a choice of 2 wines, 4 beers, and 4 liquors. Now, imagine your guests only having a choice of 4 drinks the entire night. That was something I didn't even consider until the alcohol package was taken over by an outside vendor from the Greek orthodox Church, who were extremely professional and knowledgeable - with an actual full bar package. The next red flag was a meeting I had with Elegant Catering's manager. At the next meeting, I came to see that all of the beautiful organza drapery from the ceilings, and the hutch and other nice details were gutted out and the whole room had been remodeled to compensate for those who wanted to have "business meetings". I booked the place because of these beautiful details and once again had to plan on the fly for buying more decorations, as Riverside just kept taking them away. I was told many women cancelled their booking because they booked it for those very decorations! Did anyone tell us about this? No, of course not, we showed up to our meeting and were shocked to see the change. We asked the Elegant Catering Manager why she didn't alert us to this so maybe we could have started to buy more decor sooner, but she talked around the question. Also, at this meeting she forgot her laptop, and brought someone else's folder, thinking I was another girl who was hosting a bridal shower there. I am very prepared, so I allowed her to use MY laptop and MY folder with my information since she made a mistake - she finally logged on to her account after forgetting her password and having to call someone at the office to find it for her. I understand that this is a very busy job, but it helps to be completely organized so these mistakes don't happen and hinder your trustworthiness. By then, we were discussing linens, and how I was interested in having black lace overlays on the tables, which I was assured could be provided. At the last minute, I was told there were no table overlays that were small enough to fit, so I ended up having to add an extra expense and purchase all of the overlays myself. Keep in mind what you want because not ALL LINENS are provided. Definitely second guess if you want something that is not a basic primary color. After this, things just got worse and I avoided planning things and took matters into my own hands. I was told IN WRITING several times that I was able to arrive the day before the wedding from 9-12pm to set up the reception hall. I was setting it up on a Friday morning, however I received an email, not a phone call, just an email, on Thursday saying there was an event and the place wasn't going to be cleaned up and ready in time for me to come on Friday morning at 9am, but instead I had to come at 11am. As you can understand if you've ever had a wedding, this messed up most of my plans that had scheduled times that Friday, as it was rehearsal day after all. There was nothing they could do, and for some reason the building couldn't be cleaned up Thursday night after the event in preparation for the wedding. We arrived at Riverside on Friday and the Elegant Catering manager met us there to help us - however, all of the tables were different sizes. I came to expect that all tables could hold 8-10. But some could hold only 8. So keep that in mind, because we needed more, and they "were out." It was something that we had to deal with, and we had a few of our helpers move tables around the room several times before we could no longer do anything about it. I also showed the manager the decorations I had purchased for the hi-top tables on the deck. She assured me that she would decorate them herself as I had showed her and took my box of decorations. I also asked to use their mirrored glass centerpieces, and they didn't even have ENOUGH for the 17 tables in the room, and the ones we did use were all broken, yes, broken and cracked with sharp edges making it look cheap. On the day of the wedding reception, I noticed that my hi-top tables were not decorated, and if the florist hadn't put any flower vases on them, they would be completely empty and look terrible. Also, when we chose our food, they assured me they could "make anything I wanted" which was a lie. I asked for naan bread with 4 different hummus dips, which is what I paid for. Instead, I was served pita chips from the store and only two types of hummus. That was something I was looking forward to and they didn't even provide me with the food I paid for. I was told by guests that the servers were rude and no one looked happy to be there - and instead annoyed.
Do not choose Riverside for your special day. Find someone who actually cares and works with you, instead of saying one thing and doing another.
