Bill and Brenda were absolutely lovely to work with, and their venue is spectacularly beautiful! We used their wooden arch/overlook setting as our ceremony spot, and it was so pretty. Bill and Brenda always responded to our emails quickly, answered all of our questions very patiently, and were just so kind to us and our guests. We had to delay our ceremony due to COVID, and they went the extra mile for us and the other couples so that we could have a new date that worked for us. They were even willing to work outside of their usual hours to accommodate our request for a brunch wedding! We couldn't have been happier with how our wedding turned out, and the River Edge Bed and Breakfast was the perfect venue for us. Thanks, Bill and Brenda! -

Most beautiful venue! My fiancé and I love the outdoors but didn’t quite want that typical rustic barn wedding. We toured a barn and new right a way it wasn’t “us”.
We went to River Edge and we’re immediately blown away by the property!
There are just acres upon acres of beautiful wildflowers that serve as a gorgeous back drop for your special ceremony! Also, the weather was so good that Bill took us out on a wagon ride with our photographer and videographer and got the most gorgeous shots! Well we got two back so far, but we can’t wait to see the rest!
You can tell that this venue is 100% Bill and Brenda’s pride and joy by the way they take care of it. They are all about preserving the natural beauty of the grounds and it truly shows.
The pavilion itself is gorgeous, simple, clean, and very classy. It is stringed up with white tulle and fairy lights for a very elegant look! There is also a sweet backdrop already set up for behind the head table! It has string lights and tulle curtains once again. They include all of the tables and chairs also! (Just beware, you will not be able to set up your venue the night before…. This must be done at 11am only, the morning of the wedding) All in all, this place is a 10/10 If you get a chance to tour it, do it! Then book it ASAP! You won’t be disappointed!

Bill and Brenda were so wonderful from start to finish. They were very communicative and I could tell that they genuinely invested in our having a perfect wedding day. The property is so breathtaking and the pavilion has so much built-in ambiance that minimal decorating was needed. They helped us with things we didn't even know we needed. They are so affordable, and it was so worth it. -

A beautiful venue with amazing owners who constantly work with you to help make it as easy and stress free as possible. The owners Bill and Brenda, are some of nicest and sweetest people we have ever met! They communicate well with the expectations and costs for their particular site. The cost is amazing for the incredible venue with three different options to be married at and furthermore all the available spots for pictures! We couldn't have asked or wanted a better place to tie the knot! -

Bill and Brenda were wonderful to work with throughout the entire time of planning our wedding. They were extremely prompt, professional and communicative from the time we first visited the venue to even after our wedding day.
Their property is stunning and they take meticulous care of it and for that reason it deserves guests/couples to treat it with the same care. Our day couldn’t have gone any smoother and Bill and Brenda played a huge part in that.
During our reception, Bill took my husband, our photographer, and me out into their grass field and along the river, which provided us with some of our absolute favorite photos of the day.
We would absolutely recommend River Edge Bed and Breakfast to anyone looking for a pristine and natural setting! -

The perfect reception!
As a side job I am a wedding Coordinator so when looking for a venue for my own wedding I knew that I would be looking for both value and the most bang for our buck. River Edge is breathtakingly beautiful! And they work for any budget. Which my now husband will tell you is most important because we are both teachers.
The sun came out on our wedding day and everything was magical!
We could not have picked a better location for photos or for our reception! The kidos even had a blast playing with the lawn games that we set up out front.
Brenda and Bill are so nice and easy to work with! My husband and I planned our wedding in 6months so we were under a lot of time constants and all of our questions were answered promptly and always helpful!
We are so grateful for everything! And could not ask for a better day! -

Beautiful venue and fantastic owners!
Our wedding day was absolute perfect thanks to River Edge and Bill and Brenda. Bill and Brenda were always so quick to answer any questions I had throughout the entire planning process (which turned into a lot more questions thanks to being a covid bride). They were completely understanding and made sure everything was set for our big day. The venue itself is GORGEOUS and is a photographers dream. It’s also a huge plus that you get the entire property for the day, so you can have a very private event while still having a beautiful and spacious venue. I’ve heard nothing but compliments from our guests about our venue and how much everyone loved it. The few pictures we have are breath taking and we cannot wait to see the rest of them! I seriously can not recommend this venue or Bill and Brenda enough, they were fantastic!! -

Our wedding at this venue was absolutely magical! From the moment we toured the property, we knew it was the perfect place to celebrate our day. The outdoor setting was breathtaking — lush greenery, beautiful natural scenery, and the most peaceful atmosphere that created the perfect backdrop for our ceremony and photos.
The owners, Bill and Brenda were very attentive and quick to respond to our questions and emails. They were professional, attentive, and genuinely cared about making our wedding everything we dreamed of. Our guests were blown away by the beauty of the location and kept telling us how stunning it was.
If you’re looking for a venue that combines natural beauty with incredible service, this is it. We couldn’t have imagined a more perfect place to start out forever. Highly recommend to any couple searching for an unforgettable outdoor wedding experience! -

Immaculate Property
I had my wedding at River Edge Gathering Place on June 7, 2025 and my wife and I couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. The staff members were incredibly kind and helpful and the property was immaculate. We held our ceremony down by the river & received many compliments from our guests about how beautiful the location was. There are 3 locations to choose from - one by the river, one in a field, and another that has a more woodsy feel with oak trees surrounding. A fourth location is under the pavilion, which is a great fallback in the event that the weather doesn’t cooperate. All are beautiful, but the river stuck out to us the most. The bathrooms for guests were very nice for it being an outdoor venue. The owner, Bill, even took my wife, photographer, and me for a tour around the property looking for scenic photo spots. Overall, this venue is 10/10 and is perfect for anyone with a party under ~200 people that wants a more natural feel to their wedding -

My husband and I just got married at Bill and Brenda's venue and it was absolutely perfect! Their venue was the first we visited and we instantly fell in love. The property is gorgeous, and it is clear how much time and attention they give to it. The weather was perfect, so Bill was also able to take us, our photographers, and our videographer out into the field of wildflowers where we were able to capture the most beautiful moments! They were both also very responsive to all of our questions in the weeks leading up to the wedding, and their attention to detail helped make sure our wedding went so smoothly! It could not have been more perfect, and their Bed & Breakfast they have available for the couple the night of was perfect for my husband and I. We loved not having to travel anywhere after such an exhausting (yet perfect!) day. Thank you Bill and Brenda so so much for helping make our day so special! -

This review is long overdo! My wife Shelly and I got married at the River Edge B&B on June 2nd, 2017 and were thrilled with the magical day we had at the B&B. The natural beauty of the river backdrop, the twinkle lights hanging from the reception pavilion's ceiling, to the wonderful stay in the B&B after the wedding, it all was amazing. Bill and Brenda did such an amazing job of helping us, from working with our pastor for the rehearsal, to helping unload donuts and cakes from our caterer when they arrived last minute. Bill and Brenda have a true passion for making your day special, and go out of there way to make sure it is. We would recommend River Edge B&B to anyone. Beautiful Location
We had a very special day at River Edge! The property is unique to any venue we looked at, and the pavilion was beautiful, with more than enough space for our event. Bill took us out with our photographer for field photos at sunset time. There is no place around where we could duplicate the type of photos we were able to get here. Bill and Brenda were very helpful prior to our event, and made sure all of our day-of needs were met. If you love nature, a diverse setting of wildflowers, prairie grass, butterflies, songbirds and trees with a beautiful winding river, we would highly recommend this venue! -

My husband and I were married on 9/18/21 at this BEAUTIFUL site! This was the first venue site that we looked at and we both instantly fell in love and booked it that day. Bill and Brenda were wonderful to work with and answered any questions that we had leading up to our wedding day. They were available the entire wedding day and helped to make sure that it ran smoothly. We chose to stay the night at the bed and breakfast that is on the property and our stay was perfect! The entire property is beautiful and I can't recommend it enough. -

When looking for a venue, River Edge B&B popped up in my search and I could tell from the pictures that it was a beautiful place. Bill and Brenda responded to emails very quickly and were gracious to let us come see the venue several times. There was so much already at the venue that made it beautiful and less that we had to do such as the lights strung up in the reception area. Our day was very special thanks to this place! -

Bill and Brenda ensured our wedding day was amazing. They have such a beautiful venue that made the entire day feel like magic. They worked so well with us from the time of booking all the way through the wedding date. It was so great that we knew they would help us have such an amazing day and really eased a lot of the worry and stress we otherwise could have had. They worked well with our other vendors, made sure we has amazing photos taken on the property, and were available for any questions we had. We highly recommend! -

We had the most beautiful wedding day at this venue! It was perfect for our simple, small wedding in June of this year. The setting was peaceful, scenic, and incredibly special. We held our ceremony right by the river, which created such a serene and romantic backdrop. I love that there were 3 ceremony areas to pick from. One of our favorite parts was heading back to the mini waterfall area for photos which was absolutely stunning! The owners were incredibly kind and accommodating. Bill provided transportation to all of our favorite sunset photo locations, which was such a thoughtful touch. The staff was also wonderful, especially with organizing parking and making sure everything ran smoothly throughout the day.
If you’re looking for a naturally beautiful, well-kept and managed place to get married, I highly recommend River Edge Gathering Place! It was everything we hoped for and more. -

A Blend of Historic Charm and Enchanting Natural Landscapes
I had the most perfect day at River Edge! The venue was absolutely gorgeous with its cozy and historic farm house, its enchanting pavilion, and its captivating view of the Flat River that took our breath away! Bill drove us out into the field with our photographer for sunset photos, and they turned out better than I could have ever imagined! I can't stop looking at these photos! Bill and Brenda were very helpful & professional leading up to our event, and I felt confident that we were in good hands! On the day, they made sure all of our needs were met, and the event went off without a hitch! This venue has everything you could desire from Michigan historic charm to idealic scenes of nature! I highly recommend this venue! 💐🏡🥰 -

My wedding was 09/13/2024, and it was absolutely amazing. We booked this venue about a year in advanced, and when we first toured it, I was a goner. It was so beautiful and woodsy and exactly what I imagined getting married at. Conveniently, they also had a reception area which is what I wanted as well. Brenda was an excellent communicator, she answered every question we asked and gave us reminders about payments. We met Bill the day of our wedding and he was very helpful in answering any questions and ensuring we were sticking to our contract. The day could not have gone so smoothly without them around. Some of the other reviews did mention they did sit at a picnic table outside the reception area, but I did not find it weird or felt they passed any judgment on what we did or how we planned everything. We catered through Mission BBQ and had their designated Butch by Bars for alcohol. We played our own music through spotify and rented speakers and mics from Speaker on a Stick, and the venue had no issues with any of them. We actually ended up leaving the venue an hour ahead of schedule and I was honestly relieved because I'd been awake since 5:30am, but it also meant we didn't have to rush cleanup or anything. During clean up, my husband accidentally dropped a ring his father gave him as a gift and we called Bill a 1/2 hour after we left the venue and he was very nice about it and told us he'd call us in the morning to let us know if Brenda found it, which she did. They were very kind and accommodating and left the ring and our deposit at their house for us to pick up later that day. Later that weekend, we found out our wedding cake had been accidentally thrown away along with our cake cutlery and the cake topper. My father called Bill and asked if he could come over and go through the dumpsters to recover it and Bill was so understanding and allowed my dad to do that. Which was wonderful. Every guest I talked to mentioned how lovely the ceremony was and how beautiful the venue was all together. We had no problems during our 1/2 hour sunset photos either. Bill lead us to amazing places and we're excited to see how well they all turned out!! Leading me to say, I have no negative things to say about the day or about Bill and Brenda. They made the day wonderful and even the events that occurred afterwards, they showed compassion and care for us. -

Everything about this venue is perfect. There are multiple ceremony areas to choose from, and they are each individual and unique. The pavilion is very conveniently located, so your guests have only a small walk from ceremony to reception. The staff is friendly and willing to help when you need it. The house is beautiful as well, and the dressing building is cozy. We ended up having 94 degree weather on our September wedding day, but us and our guests hardly noticed or cared because we were having such an enjoyable time. Our wedding day would have been perfect no matter what venue we chose, but having the privilege to invite our guests out to River Edge made it even more special. -

I recently was married at the venue and had the most wonderful experience. The location was beautiful - I received so many compliments! We overlooked the golden switch grass for our ceremony and you could see the river flowing in the background. The staff (specifically Bill) helped direct our traffic into the parking area while Brenda was helpful in helping me set up and make my vision come to life. They were kind, patient, and extremely helpful. I would highly recommend this venue and plan on coming back for honeymoon stays in the bed and breakfast! -

Beautiful Venue
Mid September wedding and it was beautiful! We loved the ceremony location and the fact that the reception was on the same site. Everything went very smoothly. They do take you out on the property for sunset photos so make sure to plan your time accordingly. We had to head out right after dinner and when we got back guests were leaving so knowing that, I would have moved the ceremony earlier by an hour. But we took our time and hit all the spots (pictures are the part that will last forever so get them all!) Otherwise it was perfect. We also opted to stay the night in the B&B and I highly recommend doing so. Makes the night easier and more relaxed and breakfast is provided as well. -

River Edge was able to accommodate my 250 guests comfortably and provided a truly beautiful setting for our wedding. The open sides and grounds allowed guests to socialize away from tables while still feeling part of the party. Lots of space to set up yard games which my younger guests loved. One big thing for us is that you don't go through them for catering so we were able to save a bit there by hiring a family restaurant. For alcohol you do have to go through their vendor who is considerably more pricey. -

We got married early August and River Edge was absolutely perfect. The property is very well-maintained and is just as peaceful as all of the photos show! The pre-set pavilion has wonderful base decor that work well alongside any table decor you bring. There are ample photo locations for the couple, bridal party and guests - this is where our photographer took majority of our photos. As we hoped, our guests roamed the property during our reception and took in all the natural beauty that River Edge has to offer. Bill and Brenda are responsive to any questions, clarifications, and concerns, and you can expect them to abide by all contract agreement expectations. It is highly recommended to stay in the bed and breakfast: a quaint and romantic evening is the best way to end your wedding night. The breakfast provided was delicious, too! The bar service that works with River Edge also exceeded expectations, so be assured that you are in good hands. We loved our day at River Edge and did not want it to end, but it was a gift to find this venue. -

The venue was beautiful, and Bill & Brenda were very responsive but were HORRIBLE to work with the day of the wedding. They came to me (the bride) with multiple issues the day of and they hovered around us and inspected everything we were doing while we were setting up and getting ready and made a very stressful day even more stressful. Brenda wore a long white sweater all day (my bridesmaid mistook her for me at one point) and Bill attended the wedding in his work clothes. Then they sat at one of our reception tables and ate our food without our permission. There was “miscommunication” about what candles we could use so we had to have our DJ go buy plates to go under them so we could use them. Bill berated my mother in law about who she was and what she was doing when she tried going back to the pavilion after she got ready (even though she’d been there all day). I made up gift baskets for my girls with wine in them and Brenda made my bridesmaid take the wine back to the car (even though her hands were full and it was about 50 degrees out and windy) even though we promised we weren’t going to drink it, it was strictly a gift. My bridesmaid was so frustrated and angry that she was almost in tears. Our ceremony started late because the parking attendant was directing people to the pavilion because it was cold instead of the ceremony site. On a positive note, Bill was kind enough to take my husband and I along with our photographer out on the property on his quad with a trailer to get some beautiful pictures. However, he belittled her on several occasions by making comments about how he could do her job and her job was so easy. Finally, when we first met with Bill and Brenda, they told us that they would only charge us for the number of seats that were used and we would get a refund for any guests that didn’t attend but the contract was just vague enough that it could be interpreted either way and of course, they didn’t honor the conversation we had. It’s a beautiful venue and location but with all of the issues we had with them the day of and after the wedding, we would highly recommend that you find a different place for your wedding.
