Incredible

I don't have enough good things to say about Marilyn & Jeremy. They were wonderful on our day of and captured incredible moments (and I've only seen the previews!). Marilyn is INCREDIBLY detail oriented and had a day of timeline down to the minute and it shows in the detail & quality of her photos. She kept us on schedule and really went above and beyond to capture our special day.

Amazing wedding photos

My husband and I used Rising Lotus Photography for our wedding not the Starship Yacht out of Tampa. They took sooooo many beautiful pictures of our day and I could not ask for a better team! Not only did our photos turn out AMAZING, Marilyn was so easy to work with and made us both comfortable through the entire process. She was so understanding of changes, questions I had, meeting with me, etc. Planning a wedding during a pandemic was not easy but Marilyn made this piece of our day as seamless as possible. We just ordered some prints from our collection to hang around the house and even the quality of those is top notch!!! She was so interested in our story and the love we shared and I would recommend her to anyone getting married in the Bay Area, especially on a Starship Yacht!

Five stars just isn’t enough!

Wow. As I’m trying to write this I’m getting emotional. We truly cannot thank Marilyn and the entire Rising Lotus team enough for all they did for us! Marilyn has a way of making you feel like you are the most important people in the room. From engagement photos, to walking down the aisle, Marilyn and her team perfectly captured our love. Rising Lotus has an eye that cannot be beat! Marilyn kept us informed about each step along the way, made us feel comfortable in front of the camera (no small feat), and delivered the most amazing photos that we will cherish for a lifetime! And I haven’t even mentioned our wedding video yet! Over 14 minutes of absolutely stunning shots, that we plan to look back on for years to come. Our wedding video is truly more than we could have ever dreamed of. The whole team did such an amazing job from start to finish!

The most perfect Day

After looking at so many photographers, I thankfully found RLP, and I’m so happy I did. Marilyn (the owner of RLP) is such a beautiful person inside and out. I could go on and on about how wonderful she is. Once you talk with her on the phone you will know. Her work is so creative and beyond beautiful. We are so in love with our engagement session and the few pictures from our wedding (haven’t received them all just yet) She was so wonderful to work with on our wedding day. She was calm and patient when we had a stressful situation. Her work belongs in magazines!! Trust me. Book her!

So Grateful!!!

I had to cancel my March 2020 wedding with 5 days notice (thanks COVID) and have rescheduled multiple times. Marilyn has been the absolute best to work with through the changes!!! She responds quickly, is thoughtful and kind, and has gone above and beyond to work with us! I don’t have photos to rave about yet as the wedding is now March 2022, but I have no doubt they’re going to be fantastic! Highly recommend Rising Lotus Photography!

Gorgeous photos!

I cant recommend Rising Lotus enough! Marilyn was so professional since day 1. She has great communication and becomes a partner and ally with your wedding planning. We saw a sneak peak at some unedited pictures and they are stunning! She is truly talented.

Absolutely stunning!

I feel like my appreciation and admiration for Marilyn and the Rising Lotus team can’t fully come across in an online review. She is an absolute joy to work with! She takes the time to get to know you as a couple and tries to capture what is special about you as individuals and as a couple in her photos. She created a super detailed timeline that helped us get all the photos we wanted in a timely fashion and stay right on track. She’s so kind and thoughtful with a lovely disposition that made spending all day with her fantastic. She knows when to step up and speak out to get the perfect shot while still being mindful of everyone’s needs and desires. Her artistic eye is remarkable and our photos (the ones we’ve received so far) are stunning!!! She is really wonderful at what she does and so diligent, working through the night just to get us our sneak peak. Also, special shout out to her assistant Asha for dealing with our groomsmen, she was a saint. Overall, I can’t be more thankful that we hired Marilyn and Rising Lotus for our wedding day and to look at our photos every single day!!!

Simply Amazing!!

Marilyn did a phenomenal job photographing my wedding! While we haven't received the photos yet (we got married less than a month ago), I can just tell I am going to LOVE them by the previews she sent us. She is such a pleasure to work with, very patient, creative - all the things you look for in a photographer! I truly can't say enough positive things about Marilyn and her team. If I had to do it all over again, I would book Marilyn a million times over!!

If there is one piece of advice I would give a fellow bride, it's LOVE LOVE LOVE your photographer. And man, oh man. Marilyn is the BEST. Seriously. I would have been a hot mess if it hadn't been for her cool and calm head, and gorgeous photos. She's also so sweet, and willing to help out when necessary (like when you have a surprise wedding, and need to send out postcards next day to tell the world). I interviewed many photographers, and I knew from our first call that she was the right person for us - and I was right. THANK YOU MARILYN!!

As a photographer myself I was often asked how hard it was for me to choose someone for my wedding. Surprisingly the answer is it was easy! Marilyn is flawless and takes stunning photos. I knew I wouldn’t be disappointed with the images, and not only that she worked with me to make sure I got absolutely everything I wanted and went out of her way to make sure I was happy. Love her work and her as a person. There’s no reason not to book with Marilyn at Rising Lotus Photography!

Marilyn / rising lotus is absolutely a genius behind the camera. She is very patient, organized, thoughtful and professional with her shoots. She did our maternity and newborn.... Wished I would have known her for our wedding! She is awesome and down to earth!

Marilyn was absolutely amazing, I couldn't have asked for a better photographer. She made the transitions seamless, while making my husband I feel like the most important people in the world. Marilyn and her staff are masters of their craft. We booked her for our wedding and could not have been happier. She scheduled multiple meetings with us to explain her style, provided samples of her photographs and albums, as well as coordinated the timing of our wedding day photos. When you have the bride and groom, wedding party, immediate family, and extended family all to photograph, time is a big factor to make sure every picture comes out perfect yet nothing feels rushed to enjoy the day itself. With that in mind, Marilyn and her team were FANTASTIC in coordinating the flow of everyone and ensuring everything turned out magical.

All professionalism aside (which by itself could earn her 5-stars), her friendliness and demeanor is the icing on the cake. Marilyn is just so much fun to work with! You can tell how passionate she is about what she does, and it showed throughout our shoot. The excitement she expresses at her product is contagious. Simply put, we couldn't recommend her more for your wedding, or any event in which you are seeking exemplary work to capture your memories. After receiving our photographs, we could not believe how amazing they turned out! All of the moments Marilyn captured are just breathtaking and we will cherish these photos for our lifetime. Thank you for making our day the best day of our lives!

My wife and I could not have asked for a better photography experience! The photos were beautiful, the photographers were well organized, professional and experienced and most importantly, the day was stress free!

During the very first phone call with Marilyn we immediately took note of her enthusiasm, excitement and professionalism and quickly decided that we wanted to hire her as our photograph for our special day. Throughout the planning process, Marilyn meticulously worked with us in formulating a timeline, making sure we captured the family photos we wanted all while taking the time to get to know so she could add a special touch.

On the Big Day, Marilyn and her assistant Asha were extremely organized, patient and fun. In fact, all the wedding party had to do was show up at the pre-determined time and smile! That simple. Finally, just before our ceremony was scheduled to begin a storm started to form that would impact our post-ceremony photos planned to be outside. Marilyn and Asha quickly adjusted and worked with the videographer to come up with an alternative shooting location and captured some truly BREATHTAKING photos!

We are eternally grateful to this team for capturing all of the memories, magic and love of that day. I could not have asked for a better photographer and would highly recommend Rising Lotus.

Marilyn and her crew were not only absolutely professional, they also were totally personable and really got to know us as a couple before one photo was even taken. When the big day arrived her angles and ability to utilize the natural light were actually really inspiring. The photos she took are turning out better than I could have expected, since like most people I am a little uncomfortable in front of a camera.

When you book Marilyn make sure to ask for the second photographer option which is worth every penny for those extra angles.

This review has been a long-time coming (sorry, Marilyn!). My hubby and I hired Marilyn and her team to photograph our wedding in November 2016. We we're planning from out of town, and from the very first email, to our Skype conversations, to the day-of timeline, to the final product, everything was total perfection. Communication and photos were on-time and sometimes even ahead of schedule. Not to mention the fact that Marilyn is utterly gifted in her craft. I had no idea wedding pictures could turn out so perfectly! Our friends and family still rave about the final product. Run, don't walk, to book Rising Lotus for your wedding!

Lucky us! We were referred to Marilyn from our wedding designer, (Mylez)! She was wonderful and easy to work with and her photographs, a big WOW! They take your breath away! We were a bit stressed when things did not work out with our initial photographer but when we found Marilyn we could breath a sigh of relief! I can tell she loves what she does by her most pleasant manner. My daughter, the Bride, could not stop singing her praises! Marilyn is AMAZING! I truly can't say enough positive things about Marilyn and her team. They were upbeat, thorough, thoughtful, professional, and committed! They uplifted our entire wedding party with their fantastic attitudes and kept us smiling throughout the entire evening. She was super creative about all the various photos we took and went the extra mile to get the perfect shot every time. We had a monster of a wedding planner and there were numerous hiccups throughout the wedding day as a result. There were a few times where I was almost in tears as a result of the wedding planner's mayhem, but Marilyn went out of her way to keep everyone's spirits high and add tremendous value to our night in every possible way. We haven't received the photos back from Marilyn yet (we were only married about two weeks ago), but I wanted to pass along our extremely positive review of Rising Lotus the moment we got home from our honeymoon so others can do themselves the favor of booking Rising Lotus asap!

There are wedding photographers, and then there's Marilyn. Marilyn is a high-spirited, creative perfectionist with an amazing eye for beauty, grace, and love. From your first inquiry to her final delivery, she is constantly working with and for you to develop and capture the magic of your wedding day. Her expertise for finding the perfect light, or fitting you into the correct pose, or even scouting the area to find the best shot makes her stand out from other wedding photographers. She isn't just a hobbyist with some free time; Marilyn is an artist through and through, and you'd be making a huge mistake to pass her up. If you want to have the best photos of your special day, then look no further! She even let us drag her to a foreign country to capture our honeymoon, and I don't think I'd ever be able to travel without bringing her with me again!

Without a doubt Marilyn, the owner of Rising Lotus Photography, is an excellent choice for your photographer. She is super easy to work with and genuinely cares about providing you and your spouse with a top notch experience. She customizes her work with you to your needs and guides you gently through the wedding and reception from a photography stand point. You get what you pay for!!! Marilyn and her team are simply amazing at their craft!! It is definitely an investment that you will have to remember your special day forever! When we started looking for a photographer, we knew we wanted someone who worked well in natural light as we had an outdoor venue for our ceremony and reception. There are a lot of talented photographers out there who all have different styles, but none of them had what we found in Marilyn. She was so amazing to work with, from beginning planning and our stunning engagement photos, to the day-of our wedding. She calmed our nerves and made us all feel so comfortable. Her team was on top of every detail and I didn't have to think about what was coming next because they guided us through the entire day. The photos we received absolutely took my breath away. I find myself logging in to look through our collection several times a day and I cannot stop posting photos and bragging about how gorgeous they are! Seriously. I will scream it from the roof tops. Marilyn is the absolute sweetest and most amazing person who makes magic with her camera. She also definitely knows how to take charge and get things (and people) moving. Choosing Marilyn was an easy decision and was definitely the BEST investment we made.

My husband and I discovered the wonderful Marilyn (of Rising Lotus Photography) over a year ago, while she was shooting wedding photos for friends of ours. Once we saw what she was produced, we knew we had to have her. Marilyn absolutely kiiiiiilllllled it on our wedding photos. Seriously, she is a genius. Marilyn captured some phonemenal photos during my maternity shoot. She was very professional and had so many great ideas on how to capture the beauty of pregnancy. She made me feel comfortable and she truly made it all about what we wanted. My husband and I were very pleased with her work. Once our baby boy was born, she captured some of the most precious newborn moments. Marilyn was very patient and kind. We are so glad that she was able to photograph the new blessings in our lives. Marilyn was more than my wedding photographer. Marilyn served as my emotional referee, my memory catcher, my wedding day guru. Every time we met with Marilyn, she calmed my nerves before the wedding. Our engagement session was so much fun even my fiance at the time, said he was so relieved we could just be ourselves. The way RLP is able to capture the most candid moments left us breathless with our engagement pictures and the few sneak peek wedding photos we've gotten to see. I can only wait to see our full wedding day collection!

Marilyn is an amazing photographer. She came to our planning meeting prepared with a list of "standard" shots to make sure she asked about each one and then made also asked about any other photographs that were important to my fiance and me. We received a link to our photographs in a timely manner and she captured so many great moments! I would highly recommend her!

Marilyn made our newborn photo shoot look easy. She was extremely plesant, professional, and demonstrated expertise of the trade. The photos that I received were not what I invisioned--they were far better! She took my style and created everlasting memories caught on camera. I recommend her to everyone that I know. Marilyn is a true professional through and through. It is evident in her photography and work ethic that she is so passionate about what she does! Rising Lotus Photography is truly the best!!! Our wedding was captured with the most beautiful photographs I've ever seen!! Marilyn definitely made the wedding pictures process stress free and smooth sailing! My schedule is always so crazy... I so loved how Marilyn would communicated with me in the way that worked best for me - phone, text, email and even Facebook messager! Whenever we had a question, I would contact her and she was always polite and on top of her game!! She always was responsive and quick! Always professional!! I am so blessed to have had her as a wedding photographer and pulling off our special day. The day of the wedding I was of course super nervous, but Marilyn did a great job chatting about random things and taking my mind off my nerves (and the fact that it was raining!!!!). Her bubbly personality was infectious and I so admire her for that! Marilyn is a very lovely and an amazing lady!! She truly has a talent and eye for taking beautiful, breathtaking, perfect photos! Marilyn at Rising Lotus Photography truly has a gift. I can not stop telling people how much I loved working with her and how amazing her photos are. From the beginning she took the time to get to know my husband and I I and crafted our photos and the themes of our photos around our personalities. She made our engagement session fun and easy and our wedding photos made me cry with how perfectly she captured this most important day. She was also the easiest vendor to work with and get in contact with when I was planning my wedding. I had a large wedding party with 8 bridemaids and 8 groomsmen and she got great pictures with ease amidst all the chaos and large amounts of people. Marilyn and her team worked with our tight schedule and multiple needs. We had an 11:00 am ceremony with our erection to follow and end at 3:00. She exceeded my expectations! We got the shots and the day went smoothly. She was super easy to work with and actually helped keep me calm on such an emotional day. Being able to play with each other and our photographer allowed us to capture some of my favorite shots. Marilyn is a very talented photographer, no doubt about it. But even more important than that, she is a total sweetheart. She was so patient with me and my bridal party during our portraits when we were being constantly interrupted by phone calls, people knocking on the door, upset kids crying around and relatives running late for the sessions.

Marilyn provided services for our maternity and newborn photos. She was very patient and spent extra time with us to get all the pictures we desired. This was especially helpful for our newborn pictures which she did at our house. She is always very quick to respond to messages and was very helpful w all the little planning details. Every year I try and have pictures taken of my daughter around Mothers day. This year, I had the pleasure of working with Marylin. When deciding on the location for the photos, Marylin took extra time to visit each location and gave me options on which venue/setting I would like the best. We ended up going with a enchanted garden theme during sunset. It was so beautiful and magical. She has such a gift for capturing the moment in her photography. I am in love with these photos. She even had the photos ready for print by Mother's day, which was my goal. Marilyn was all about the spirit and energy of our day. It was important to her not just to get the 'money shot' but to capture those special moments with Carl and I and our guests. Once we met and signed the contract, I would send her emails of poses I liked, or props I was using. She drove to Fort Myers from Tampa and met us at our location. She walked through the entire venue with us. She looked from every angle and discussed where we wanted to do our 'must do' photos.

We continued to correspond by emails. Every detail was finalized. On the day of our wedding, which was act 6 pm, she arrived at 2:00. She worked very well with our venue, coordinator, florist, baker, DJ, and guests. She stayed until the very end.

The final products are amazing. To be sure, doing photographs of an over 60 couple might be a challenge, but not for Marilyn. Somehow, she helped me to feel like a 25 year old blushing bride.

I am amazed not just at her skill, but her energy and mostly her passion for capturing these wonderful moments.

Do not hesitate in contacting Marilyn for your shower, wedding, engagement or baby pictures. You will not be disappointed.

Rising Lotus photographed our event in November. We were more than pleased with the dedication and the service Rising Lotus provided. Rising Lotus Photography came to our community event, Voices of Strength, on Saturday, November 17th pro-bono. There was no way we could afford a professional photographer. After learning about the event not only did she shot the entire event, donate a photography art piece for the silent auction and promote the event on her site. She captured the event with sensitivity and professionalism. The photographs are amazing and will be used to empower others, our marketing materials and for the event participants to honor their performances. We cannot thank her enough for the amazing gift she has given to us, the Center and our participants.

I hired Rising Lotus Photography for a special photo session with my daughter. It was such an amazing experience to work with her. Marylin took a precious "mommy and daughter" moment and captured it onto absolutely stunning photographs that we will be able to treasure for a lifetime.

Marilyn Shamblin is a very professional and talented photographer. She took our photos as the event was occurring and was almost unnoticeable, so the finished products were natural, for the most part un-posed, and very beautiful. Her use of light was spectacular, and mixed in several black and white pictures as well as color for varying effects. She genuinely appears to enjoy her craft, and she was especially talented in catching the fleeting emotions on people's faces without them knowing it. We would recommend her photography for any event, and we will enjoy her photographs for the rest of our lives. Thank you, Rising Lotus Photography!
