So glad we booked Deacon

I would highly recommend T.S. Deacon to officiate your wedding if you're looking for an officiant. Deacon officiated my now wife and I's wedding this past July. He was great and so well prepared. For example, my wife and I wrote our own vows and he printed them on beautiful cards that he brought with him to our wedding. Which was great because it was one less thing we had to worry about it. He even had extra rings for us just in case the maid of honor or the best man forgot to bring them to the wedding which he said has happened before lol! Another plus is he officiates just one wedding per day, which is great and ensures there's no way of him mixing you up with another wedding party. We interviewed other officiants and you'd be surprised at how many weddings they officiate a day. Deacon also has an enigmatic personality and got along with all our friends and family very well! We can't thank Deacon enough. I hope this review was helpful!

He’s amazing!

Deacon was awesome we had him come do our vow renewal! He is so fun and was hit with all the guests. He is thorough and moves the ceremony! We loved working with him and he fully embraced our Christmas theme wedding!

Gets the job done but not too serious

He’s the best!!

For our “catholic in flavor” ceremony, deacon is absolutely amazing. He made the effort to really get to know and understand us to make our ceremony as personal to us as possible. He made a lovely blessing before dinner and was also the life of the party on the dance floor!! He fun and funny while being strict on the things he needs to keep you on the perfect timeline.

Absolutely incredible. Would 10/10 recommend.

Reverend Deacon Economos was PERFECT for our day. He was kind, responsive, funny, and most of all caring. Before the ceremony I was so anxious and did not have many to console me. Reverend went above and beyond to give me strength to walk down the aisle alone. He also brought such incredible vibes to the dance floor! We cannot express how much we appreciate revered and how we would absolutely recommend him for your upcoming wedding!

Deacon Was Awesome!

I introduced Deacon to my fiancé as someone who would perfectly be able to combine our 2 traditions (Jewish/Greek) into a meaningful service that both families would be pleased with.
We also wanted someone with the knowledge to work within those traditions to allow us to customize aspects of each to personalize the ceremony and make it unique and meaningful and reflecting our personalities.
Deacon exceeded our expectations!
He was always a phone call or email away to answer any questions, provide feedback, insight and guidance.
After the ceremony both families raved about our officiant even though he was always careful to play only a supporting role in our special day.
I can't recommend him enough. No matter your background, orientation, or ideas for your wedding, Deacon will not disappoint. Have a consult with him and I am confident you will agree.

Wonderful person and very professional!

We are not religious people, so we decided to forego the church ceremony and hire an officiant. We found Reverend Economos and instantly liked him. We invited him to stay for dinner and meet our family at the wedding. The next day I spoke with many of the guests and they all had great things to say about him and how funny he was. I don't think I could have asked for more!

Extremely happy with Reverend Deacon Economos!

We have known Deacon for over 10 years and from the moment we met him we knew we wanted him to be the officiant at our wedding. He is very personable and will tailor your ceremony to whatever your needs are. We are a Greek and Jewish couple and Deacon took our traditions and made them into a beautiful ceremony. Our families were impressed with his ability to listen to our needs and do exactly what we wanted. We would highly recommend Reverend Deacon to anyone planning their wedding and needing an officiant at their ceremony. You will be extremely pleased. From beginning to end Deacon was a joy to work with.

A wonderful ceremony designed just for us

Reverend T. S. Deacon Economos helped to make our wedding day so special. Since we are from California but were getting married in Boston, we needed someone who would be open to working with us from across the country. Deacon was open to this and great to work with! During our first meeting, he took plenty of time to get us comfortable with the components of typical wedding ceremonies and then let us have time to consider what we wanted our wedding ceremony to include. He designed our ceremony based on the feedback we provided to him, and he made our wedding even more wonderful than we could have imagined!

Deacon was everything we were looking for in a officiant and more! From the moment we met him at his lovely home we knew he was our guy, he was warm and welcoming, knowledgeable and thorough. Deacon made our ceremony incredible!!

We hired Deacon for our fall 2019 wedding and could not have been more thrilled with how the ceremony went! He was incredibly professional, respected and honored our religious wishes, and made the ceremony feel much more intimate and personal than we could have ever imagined! The favorite part of our wedding was our ceremony and a big part of that is what Deacon did! He was so helpful and organized through the ceremony process. His words hit home for both my Husband and I and made a lot of people cry (who said they had never cried at weddings before)! I would highly recommend hiring him.

Choose Deacon!

Deacon was our officiant at our wedding at Hammond Castle on 9/28/18. He did a wonderful job with the ceremony, made my husband and I feel at ease thought the process, and was very organized during the weeks before/after the wedding with paperwork, etc. We met with him in person once prior to the wedding, then he led our rehearsal the night before the wedding. We will certainly recommend him to our friends and family. Thank you for everything, Deacon!!

Wedding officiant

Deacon was great. Extremely responsive and professional. We met with him and he laid out his “best hits”. We modified them slightly but overall were really happy with his approach.

Extra kudos - he actually fell and injured himself pretty badly right before the ceremony. To his credit he pushed through and completed the ceremony. He knew it was a big day for us and we are really appreciative of his extra effort.

Would definetly recommend.

The Deacon

Deacon was professional and easy to deal with, taking a lot of stress out of the ceremony and wedding day. The Deacon worked with my wife and myself to customize a ceremony that paid tribute to both my wife and my respective religious backgrounds and ethnic traditions. Fun, helpful, family oriented !

I loved having Deacon marry us this summer. He also married my brother and his wife. He has a great personality and wonderful sense of humor that made my family members very comfortable around him. We invited him to stay for the reception and he found himself dancing the night away with friends and family. They all loved it so much. What an amazing person to work with for probably what is the most important 20 minutes of my life so far.. Reverend Deacon helped us step by step, kindly wisely and patiently. He allowed us to personalize everything as much or as little as we wanted to, which was perfect for us to mesh both our family's needs for religion.non-religion and formality. What I thought was a nice tool to have also - since he literally has decades of experience - was the fact that he had several examples/versions of each different piece of a ceremony my husband and I could look through to piece together - as opposed to spending endless hours looking up all kinds of options online, then having to reformat them for ourselves. While planning the wedding and all the millions of details, it was a pleasure to have such a positive, kind, friendly, well prepared, family orientated and charismatic person leading us through the day! We actually attended our best friends wedding while we were still dating, and met him there 2.5 years ago - so when it was our turn, he was our first and last call. So happy to give a positive review, definitely a great choice for all!

If there were more than a 5 star rating, Reverend Economos would get it! He had married multiple friends of ours and as soon as we got engaged we knew he would be our Reverend! His personality exceeded our expectations, very welcoming. He had all of our guests giggling. Reverend Economos gives off the feel that you've known him for a long time, even though you have not! Making arrangements with him for our wedding day could not have gone any smoother, as a bride, you know you have this long list of things to do, Reverend Economos made it that much easier to check one thing off the list, especially since he arrives with your vows on pretty little cards! I would highly recommend him to all my friends and family for their service needs!

Deacon is a superb wedding officiant. We had our first meeting at his home and thought he had a great presence and sense of humor. Throughout the process, Deacon provided us with his guidance on ceremony styles, language suggestions, and overall ceremony flow. I truly valued his expertise and appreciated his feedback. At our wedding rehearsal, Deacon organized our group so well that our wedding coordinator at the venue even commented how he was doing her job for her. Deacon joined our rehearsal dinner and got along with our family and wedding party very well. Our ceremony was perfect and we got many comments throughout the night saying how great of a ceremony was. Many of these comments were about Deacon's demeanor and sense of humor. I couldn't recommend him more to future couples.

Deacon performed our wedding service 10/1/16, he was great! We met with him prior to the wedding and got to know each other. He was able to keep our ceremony short and sweet while still grasping all concepts that we wanted included. We got many compliments about this and about how great he was. Our guests were thrilled to have a faster service which meant less time getting to dinner and the dance floor. We would highly recommend Deacon, in fact we already have :)

As a couple, we don't affiliate with any organized religion, but still wanted to have a ceremony beyond just a civil service. We chose Deacon to officiate our wedding because he is a theologian scholar and well versed in all religions. Deacon customized our ceremony, accommodating our requests so we had a beautiful, individualized event. Our families (who are religious and were skeptical of having a ceremony outside the Church) loved the ceremony and the wonderful job Deacon. We were very pleased with Deacon the day of the event, as well as the time leading up to our wedding. He was always prompt in responding to emails prior to the wedding, which helped alleviate some wedding planning stress.

In our opinion, the ceremony ends up being the most important part of your wedding day so make sure to pick a great officiant -- we suggest Deacon! -- and everything else will fall into place.

Deacon was so much fun at our wedding. He was professional and knew where to direct people to where they needed to go. Our guests thought he has a light airy spirt and was very much entertaining during our ceremony. We invited him to stay for dinner and dancing and he blended in well with our family. He was everything I could of asked for to marry us.

I found Reverend Deacon when looking for someone to officiate our wedding. I read a lot of reviews prior to contacting people and eventually reached out of Reverend Deacon. He was very nice and welcoming even though we didn't have the most traditional wedding or wedding set up. Reverend Deacon was always available for questions and prompt to answer my emails. He helped me write our ceremony and gave me feedback when I sent some first drafts for him to look over. Reverend sent me emails for reminders for things such as wedding license and always had the answers when I was unsure where to go for the license and things of that nature. I was very impressed with Deacon on our wedding day as was my family members. I was not around while my family chatted with him prior to the ceremony (getting ready and first look), but after the wedding my family members went out of the way to tell me how great Deacon and how great of a personality he had. He read our ceremony clearly and loudly so that everyone could hear and read it perfectly. He even stepped out of the way after pronouncing us so that our formal photos of our first kiss were just bride and groom- something we did not notice until we got our photos back, but something that was small and appreciated and shows his experience officiating. He was very prompt and had all of the paperwork prepared and even sent the final records to the city hall immediately and as soon as I got back from our honeymoon, the city hall already had our marriage certificate ready. Reverend Deacon was warm, kind, and welcoming and we are glad we chose him to officiate our day. And the photos came out awesome- he looks like a "classic" officiant. Deacon helped us create a wedding ceremony that was exactly how my husband and I felt about each other. Deacon officiated my wedding and he was absolutely wonderful to work with. My husband and I started researching wedding officiants online, and as soon as we read his profile we knew he was a good fit for us. I was previously divorced, and since my husband and I are Catholic it was very hard coming to terms with the fact that we couldn't be married in the church. My husband was especially bothered by this, but as soon as we met Deacon we felt at ease knowing that he would help us customize a spiritual ceremony, despite it not being a church one. He listened to all of our concerns and thoughts and was always prompt and helpful. We felt completely at ease having him officiate for us!

At the rehearsal and reception he was so down to earth and fun to be around. Everyone told us how comfortable they felt around him, like he was an old friend. He also had some pretty smooth moves on the dance floor and helped get the shy guests dancing too! Lol

We truly enjoyed working with Deacon, he was a wonderful fit for us and you can tell he genuinely loves his job. He helped us create the perfect ceremony, it was heartfelt and unique, it was ALL US! We would highly recommend him to anyone!!

My husband and I highly recommend Deacon, especially for those couples who are looking for a passionate officiant to perform a secular wedding. His definition of marriage is broad and flexible yet grounded in universal convictions. He will take the time to explain his beliefs to you, and he will listen to yours. Together we wrote a ceremony that our friends and family are still talking about today....and when it's "show time"....he won't disappoint!

We found Deacon through Wedding Wire and the amazing reviews did not disappoint. We planned our wedding from afar and Deacon was open to Skype-ing before the wedding and was quick via email making the planning process easy and hassle free. We got MANY comments after the ceremony about how meaningful and personal our ceremony was, and Deacon was an intricate part in planning that. He provided not only a ceremony we loved but in the planning process was open to changes, discussions, and meeting our own needs. We highly recommend Deacon!

My husband and I met Deacon at the rehearsal dinner of a wedding I was helping to plan. That evening, he was remarkably personable, warm, and friendly. He did a great job officiating that wedding, and was sure to give us his card for when it was our turn (we weren’t even engaged yet). Fast forward a year and a half and my husband and I were thinking about what we wanted for our own ceremony. Neither of us is deeply religious, and we had already decided that our ceremony and reception would be at the same venue for ease of planning and beauty of the space. Although they never said it to us, it turns out that getting married in a church was important to my parents, so we decided that we’d find an officiant who could add a little bit of the religious component to keep my parents and some of our guests happy while still making sure the ceremony was personal to us. Immediately, we thought of Deacon. Deacon worked with us to create a ceremony that perfectly fit who we are as a couple and our beliefs about marriage, religion, and love. It was personal yet traditional, contemporary yet religious, and we got so many compliments on the service and about Deacon. We are so glad that he was there to marry us, and wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.

Our wedding was at the Willowdale Estate in Topsfield, MA. We found Deacon on wedding wire I believe, and am so happy and grateful that we did! Deacon has a very outgoing and energetic personality which is great for gathering everyone to the right place at the right time. Deacon is also very personable and was able to assist us and the wedding coordinator in planning the ceremony out at the rehearsal. As a bride in a hectic time, I loved when my vendors or contacts would respond to my emails or calls promptly. Deacon was very quick with his responses and provided us with so much helpful information such as the different types of ceremonies we could choose, extra ceremonial traditions, and etc. He was also very flexible and tailored the ceremony to how we had wanted it. Besides being very efficient and on top of his work, Deacon was also a great time at the reception! Everyone that I talked to loved talking to Deacon and celebrating with him afterwards. He will definitely have some prospective clients from our wedding party in the future! We would recommend Deacon to anyone looking for an officiant for their wedding!

We thought Deacon did a great job!! The ceremony was perfect and he helped us through the whole process from the start. He always responded quickly to any questions that we had and put us at ease. We wrote our own vows and he printed them out on to nice cards for us along with our readings and later mailed them to us for a keepsake. He is very outgoing and easy to talk to. Our family and friends enjoyed working with him during the rehearsal. Very professional during the ceremony. We would definitely recommend him!

Reverend T.S. Deacon Economos is a true professional and a genuinely dedicated officiant. After contacting Deacon by email he made a very personal introduction by inviting us to his home where we discussed the vision of our ceremony. After our meeting Deacon met the challenges of having to communicate by phone and email due to our being several hours away from one another. The Reverend took the time to consider every facet of our wedding including the varying degrees of religions that would be represented by our guests. His knowledge of numerous religion's was very helpful in ensuring every guest was comfortable at our ceremony. When our special day finally arrived, Deacon made our union one of the most memorable days of our lives just as it should have been. Deacon's humorous conversations with our guests and assistance in helping our shy flower girls distribute their petals left guests asking where did we meet our officiant? You will not be disappointed by the personal service that Deacon provides as he is like a friend you've always known but maybe haven't seen in a while. Thank you Deacon!

Deacon was everything we could've asked for...just the right blend of spirituality, history, tradition and a hilarious personality to make the day go perfectly. He was a very experienced professional, with the expertise you need to guide you through choices you didn't even know you had to make. Though we met with multiple vendors for EVERYTHING to be sure we were picking the best one, we cancelled the meeting with the other ministers after meeting with Deacon because we were so sure he was the perfect one.

Deacon was the perfect choice for officiating our wedding! He tailored both the content and tone of our ceremony to make it just what we wanted while incorporating elements that our families would appreciate. He is so professional and knows all the pitfalls and places where you might need a nudge on what to do while overcome with emotion! We had no idea how much we needed others to take care of us on our wedding day, but Deacon did - He was prepared for any situation, with printed readings and vows, a handkerchief for tears, backup wedding rings, and who know what else hidden away in his robes! After the ceremony, he had no trouble mingling with our family and friends! So many of our guests loved him and told us how hilarious and fun he was at the wedding! He even showed off a few dance moves! Thank you, Deacon, for being so awesome!

Deacon is quite possibly my favorite person in a collar. He's organized, responsive, helpful, and hilarious. We live in DC and had our wedding in Watertown and Deacon was incredible. He met with us multiple times before the wedding, organized rehearsal and hung out with everyone during our welcome bbq, and EVERYONE loved him! He let us make a ceremony any which way we wanted, and had helpful suggestions all along the way. He's incredibly professional, but he'll also add laughter and personality to your wedding. He was awesome!

Reverend T.S Deacon Economos was an incredible officiant. We initially met Deacon while we were touring our soon to be wedding venue. He was about to officiate a baptism in the chapel. He saw us peeking our heads in and asked if we were planning an event there. We told him we were thinking about getting married in the chapel and he politely offered his services. It didn't take long for my husband and I to decide that we liked Deacon and felt comfortable with him. We met about six months later at his home to discuss what we were looking for in a officiant and ceremony. My family is Catholic and my husbands family is Atheist but Deacon assured us that he would have the perfect ceremony written that would appeal to both families. At that meeting he read the ceremony he had created for us and we were both blown away. It was exactly what we were looking for. Up until the wedding Deacon was great about returning all emails very promptly. He also sent reminders about the marriage license, as well as writing the vows and even offered help and guidance in doing so. We rehearsed the ceremony the night before the wedding and everything went perfectly. We invited Deacon to our rehearsal dinner and all our friends and family fell in love with him as well. The next day the ceremony was perfect and everyone commented on what a great job Deacon did. The reception followed and Deacon said a grace for our guests that also was perfect and appealed to both families. Throughout the evening he'd check in to make sure we were having an outstanding time. We are incredibly grateful we were able to meet Deacon that day touring the venue. He was a big part in why our wedding was so perfect.

Reverend Deacon was a pleasure to work with. He has a great personality, was very organized, and delivered the ceremony flawlessly. Several of our guest commented on how funny and friendly he was during our reception. We are so glad we invited him to the party!! Deacon is absolutely incredible. I own a wedding photography studio in Boston and have seen hundreds of ceremonies performed over the past few years. When it came time to choose an officiant for my own wedding, I knew Deacon would be perfect. We scheduled a time to meet and my then fiancé also loved Deacons personality, style and kindness. Deacon traveled to Martha's Vineyard not only for our Sunday wedding but agreed to arrive a day early- on Saturday to do a rehearsal ceremony. We didn't have money in our budget for a personal wedding coordinator (only the wedding lady at the hotel-who was amazing but isn't allowed to leave the hotel property). Our ceremony was off hotel property down on the beach at Edgartown Lighthouse. Deacon was VERY helpful in organizing the entire ceremony and making sure everything went down smooth-he was awesome!!! Besides all the extra stuff he helped out with, he is an incredible efficient. He really made us feel comfortable and walked us thru the steps of writing vows. He worked with us each individually to write and submit our vows before our wedding. He printed them on really nice cards and had them ready for us on wedding day:) He is totally open to anything you might want to do and also has wonderful suggestions if you need ideas. We both felt he truly cared very much about us as a couple and getting to know us. We received so many compliments on our ceremony and how special it was. As a photographer who has worked worth Deacon before my own wedding I can also say he is super cool and easy to work with as a vendor. Deacon is on my preferred vendor list at http://www.gregbrett.com and I will continue to refer all of my clients to him. Thanks Deacon!

Deacon was the absolute best person that could have married my husband and I. He shares many of the same views as us in regards to religion and marriage. He was also very responsive to any questions we had and guided us throughout the entire process. Deacon was able to join us and our wedding party for a pre-rehearsal lunch and everyone enjoyed his company. His ceremony was simple and sweet, which is exactly what we wanted, and everyone seemed to enjoy it, especially us.

Deacon married my husband and I in July and was absolutely phenomenal. Leading up to the day, Deacon was super responsive to all of our questions and extremely helpful. He wrote a gorgeous ceremony that really tied together both my and my husbands beliefs (my family is Catholic while my husband's is mostly non-religious) - after the ceremony both sides of our families were saying it was the most lovely they'd ever heard. Deacon encouraged my husband and I to write our own statement to each other, and with a little writing guidance from Deacon, we can both say that sharing our personalized vows was the best part of the day. Deacon also ran our rehearsal with great humor and energy, keeping everyone involved and entertained while still imparting the need-to-knows, and he gave a lovely blessing at our reception. I couldn't have asked for a better officiant. I would highly, highly recommend Deacon.

One of my bridesmaids came up to me after my rehearsal and said "I don't know where you found him, but your minister is AWESOME!" That is precisely how we feel about Deacon. Rev. Deacon had the crowd laughing up a storm!! He oversaw everything with the adequate reverence but at the same time, knew how to keep the mood light and interesting for everyone in attendance. If you're looking for the traditional sermon/church wedding, then you might want to consider someone else..

Deacon was great to work with! His ceremony was truly special and really resonated with me and my husband. My husband is not religious, and my primary connection to religion is my Catholic upbringing. Deacon was able to come up with a ceremony that was special and meaningful to us; not a generic script recited in most weddings. He was also a fabulous addition for our guests, as he socialized and was engaging. His chats with our older guests went a long way in making people happy. Definitely recommend!
