Barbara has a very special way about her! So happy we met her 25 years ago

Barbara married us 25 years ago and I had a dream about her and that made me realize she had to be the one to renew our vows for our 25th anniversary so just her and I knew and we surprised our family including my husband who happily said yes again!!

It truly was a Hallmark wedding!

Rev. Barbara was a pleasure to work with. She provided us with everything to make our wedding special and unique. We loved how helpful she was with walking us through our ceremony and explaining every detail along the way. Rev. Barbara was very knowledgeable and made us feel comfortable and relaxed for our big day. We are truly happy that she was our officiant and made our day so much more memorable.

Couldn't be happier

Barbara was excellent. She over-delivered in every way possible. She was warm to work with from the start and really cared about making sure we understood the process and the intimacy of what we were embarking on. She was very professional as far as showing up early, speaking with us both before the big ceremony, and her delivery the day of was flawless. She exceeded our expectations.

Rev. Barbara is truly special!

We met Rev. Barbara about a week before the world turned upside down. We had the most wonderful discussion and left know we had found the perfect person to officiate our wedding. The challenges of the past year only solidified how important our the ceremony was to us. Rev. Barbara created the most beautiful ceremony that was centered around us and our relationship. I don’t think there was a dry eye there!! So many guests commented on how beautiful and special the ceremony was. She managed to make it feel like time had stopped and in that moment the only thing was us, our family, friends and the commitment we were making to each other. She was also EXTREMELY helpful assisting us with our marriage license. We felt taken care of from the very moment we met her and look forward to having her as a part of many of our special ceremonies as we grow our family. She is truly a gift!

Highly recommend

Barbara was absolutely incredible from the beginning to the end. Her ceremony was perfect because she offered unique vow options that were non-denominational, non-traditional, but specifically geared towards us sharing our love and commitment in a way that was tailored to our needs. I can't recommend her enough! (Side note: one of my BIGGEST regrets was not hiring her husband's video services. I only hired a photographer and although the pictures were beautiful, video would've enabled us to remember the experience forever. Reliving it through pictures is not the same as video. Hire him!)

Beautiful ceremony

Rev. Barbara did a beautiful job of officiating our wedding. It was a thoughtful, beautiful ceremony that really captured the love we have for each other. She was also very helpful with marriage license information, which we knew nothing about.

Reverend Barbara made the most important part of our day so incredibly special and go so smoothly. She took so much of the stress out of it and guided us through the whole thing. The love letters she had us write and read to each other were truly the highlight of the whole thing and we are so glad she convinced us to read them as part of our ceremony. Barbara works with you to personalize the ceremony and we were so pleased!

Barbara is the absolute best!!

Barbara is one of the most kindest and warmest people we've ever met, and we absolutely loved having her as our Wedding Officiant and Premarital Counselor. Through counseling, we more deeply understood our relationship and what we could look forward to in our marriage and life ahead, and Barbara got to know the two of us to help craft the perfect ceremony. She helped us craft vows that made our family and friends cry (happy tears of course), and she kept the waterworks going with her message to us and those gathered.

Barbara was amazing!!!

We live far away (NY) from our wedding venue (CA) so worked with Barbara over the phone. She did a great job explaining the process to us and helping us design a ceremony that felt right for us. Neither my husband nor I are particularly religious and Barbara gave us readings to choose from that were non-denominational. She focuses on you, the couple, rather than dogma. Plus, she even reviewed our vows for us before the big day to make sure they weren't too off base/far apart. She struck a humorous tone with our guests and managed to bring real authenticity and uniqueness. Many people complimented us on the ceremony afterwards!

Personal, heartfelt, and unique

Reverend Barbara was so unbelievably amazing throughout our entire wedding process. We knew from the moment we walked in to our initial meeting with her that she was it, she was who we wanted to officiate our wedding ceremony.
She took the time to get to know my husband and I as a couple, so that she could make our ceremony very personal, heartfelt, and unique.
My husband and I both knew we wanted something short and sweet. Reverend Barbara was able to get so much into our 30 minute ceremony with such a personal touch!
She was also so helpful with the more confusing aspects such as marriage license (when to get it, where to get it, which to get) as well as things we didn't even realize we may need (taking our marriage license with us on our out of country honeymoon, just in case). She covered it all and we could not be more thankful.
I could not recommend her enough, she was amazing to work with professionally and get to know personally as well!

Barbara was highly recommended from not only one of our close friends, but many of our close friends. Some that have hired her in the past, some that have worked with her in the past, and some that have hired, worked with, and referred her in the past and present.

Not only was Barbara awesome but she also had many mutual friends with my wife and I that made it easy to talk with, and work with Barbara. Barbara didn't need any "ice breakers" for our first meeting, her personality shined right through and made us feel right at home. You felt like you have a real friend during one of your most intense and special times of your life. Barbara was awesome from the minute we met her, until the last minutes of our Ceremony.

Barbara did a wonderful job officiating our wedding. Many of our guests wanted her contact info. She made our day so special. We met with her twice. Once to talk to her and decide if we wanted her to officiate our wedding, and the second to finalize the ceremony. She really put us both at ease and the ceremony went off perfectly.

We liked Barbara from the first moment we met. You could call it kismet, because the family member we'd chosen to officiate told us at the last minute that he was unable to attend. With the wedding mere weeks away, we asked around and received a glowing recommendation for Barbara from our venue. As it turned out, the wedding she was supposed to officiate on our wedding day had been postponed, so she was available and we started corresponding straight away. When we met, she was warm and welcoming and made us feel at ease right away. She spoke of love and family and all of the things that we, too, hold dear, and her love for officiating weddings came through in a way that made her seem not only like an easy choice, but the obvious one, the one that was meant to be all along.

My husband and I are so happy we chose Barbara to officiate our wedding. She is AMAZING! She spoke from the heart during the ceremony and it was soo sweet and heartfelt. We met with her beforehand and she had so many resources for us. We didn’t have any ideas or plans for the ceremony, other than that we didn’t want to to be long. She did an amazing job guiding us and giving us advice based on her experience. Her fee is very reasonable and she is top-notch! I highly, highly recommend Barbara!!

From our first appointment we knew that she was the right person to officiate our ceremony. She just gave us an idea of some of the things she MIGHT say and I was moved to tears. It seemed like she knew who we were as a couple. Reverend Barbara performed a ceremony that was personal and really reflected the love and values we share. The ceremony was so moving, our guests didn't seem bothered by the rain that moved in on our big day. We loved working with her. We are so grateful we found her.

As they say..."it is better late, than never." My husband and I were married by Reverend Barbara Laughray in November 2014. She was absolutely amazing, kind and professional. She made the ceremony delightful for not only my guests but for my husband and I. We are very grateful to have found her and would recommend her.

We absolutely loved Reverend Barbara. Our coordinator told us that no one that she has sent to see her ever comes back without booking her, and she was absolutely right. Rev. Barbara made us feel so comfortable right off the bat. She was warm, and totally understood our needs and vision for our ceremony. On the day of our ceremony was just fantastic and we have heard from so many guests that it was the best ceremony they have ever heard. She gave us her advice when we asked and needed it and respected our wished even though we knew our ceremony was going to be a bit longer than usual. I wish she could marry us again every year. What a beautiful person, inside and out, and what a beautiful spirit to marry my husband and I. Her words are something we will never forget.

I can't put into words how thrilled we were with Barbara and her ceremony for our wedding. We were so stressed out about our ceremony and finding an officiant until we met her — and then she made all of our fears go away. Her experience, professionalism, and true love of weddings and marriage are so apparent. She made the process easy and fun, and explained exactly what we needed to do for everything — from how to get the marriage license to how to rehearse walking down the aisle. Her ceremonies are compelling, personal, and memorable (and I say ceremonies because we've seen her twice — she also married our friends!) and she knows how to put both the couple and the crowd at ease. There are many, many wonderful things I can say about her but I'll narrow it down to this: I was really worried about having an officiant we didn't know marry us — it seemed odd to have a stranger perform something so intimate and important. But it was clear to us after our first meeting with Barbara that it would not be a stranger marrying us. She really took the time to get to know us and what we wanted out of our ceremony. After our two meetings with Barbara, having her up there marrying us felt incredibly natural — by that point, she wasn't a stranger, she felt like a friend. We feel very lucky to have had her as our officiant.

I don't even know where to begin with how wonderful Reverend Barbara is! She truly is such an amazingly kind, genuine and lovely person. My husband and I were so very honored to have her as our wedding officiant. We spent time with her in premarital counseling, as well as working on our vows and ceremony outline. Throughout the entire process Reverend Barbara was such a strong support to us and treated us as if we were family. The moment we met Rev. Barbara we knew she was the one we wanted to officiate our wedding. She is simply incredible and has such an amazing sweet soul. She was warm and welcoming. She made us feel right at home, comfortable and like we have known each other for years. Our ceremony was absolutely beautiful because of her. Rev. Barbara is a gift! She is beyond lovely. We were going to have a friend marry us until our venue & photographer told us about Barbara. After the first phone conversation, I knew she was the right choice for us. We were truly blessed to have her as our officiant. Both my husband and I are extremely shy. Rev. Barbara was the perfect person to officiate our wedding! She's a complete professional, available on weekends, and is very thorough - walking you through ever detail of the ceremony. She loves what she does and is reasonably priced to make herself available to couples in love. My husband and I did premarital counseling with her as well, which was not only beyond useful for us as a couple but made our day-of so personal, as she knew us well by then. We received several compliments about Rev. Barbara after the wedding from our guests who were inspired by her words and the words she helped us craft for our own vows. My husband and I hope and plan to continue seeing her for any spiritual guidance we may need or want in years to come!

Reverend Barbara - a beautiful person inside and out, and an obvious choice to officiate our wedding. She is easy to work with and adaptive to any style or preference. She took the time to listen and get to know us personally, and we found her to be extremely intuitive and comforting during the process of composing our ceremony.

On the day of the wedding, she delivered a service that we are still getting asked about and complimented on, and the warmth and intention she put into her words set the tone for the rest of our evening and celebration. I don't even know where to start! Reverend Barbara was truly and utterly amazing. In the weeks before my wedding, my father unexpectedly passed away. I was nervous about continuing on with the wedding because I was so afraid of the void that I would feel and I thought it may just be too soon. We decided to continue moving forward with the wedding and I wouldn't change a thing. Not only did Reverend Barbara personalize our ceremony, but she also took the time to include my dad into the festivities. I will forever be grateful to her. Simply amazing. Our ceremony was simply amazing because of Rev. Barbara. My guests came up to me after and told me how lovely and intimate our ceremony was. From the first time we met her, to after the ceremony was completed, Rev. Barbara truly made us feel like she believed in us and that she was genuinely happy and rooting for our marriage. From start to finish, Barbara was simply amazing to have as our officiant! We knew within a few minutes of our first meeting with her that she was the one we wanted to marry us. We found Barbara to be very warm, kind, and caring in all of our interactions with her. We are not religious and she was completely flexible to craft the ceremony that we were looking for.

She first sought to learn about our story as a couple starting out with how we met to how we came to this point in deciding to get married. She asked what was important to us and what we wanted to convey in the ceremony. Barbara had so many ideas and tips to share from hundreds (thousands?) of weddings over the years that she was able to really partner with us to craft the perfect ceremony. Within that, she helped establish a detailed timeline/flow of the ceremony. In general, it really feels like it's more than just a business or a job for her.

We met with her twice and she was so thorough that by the end of the last meeting we felt like we were already married. She was very flexible with us and allowed us to tweak all options that were discussed to our liking as well. We really can't say enough good things about Barbara and would recommend her to anyone looking for an officiant!

Working with Rev. Barbara was a joy. My husband and I had interviewed several officiants prior to contacting Barbara, and we knew almost immediately upon meeting her that we wanted her to marry us. We're not religious, but wanted an officiant that could relay both the love that we share with each other, and the importance of the vows that we were taking that day.

We met with Rev. Barbara twice, and both times discussed at length what our goals were for the ceremony as well as the exact order of how the ceremony would flow on the day of. We felt very comfortable with her process, and she encouraged us to write love letters to each other that she would read out loud at the ceremony. While I was initially nervous about the idea, it turned out to be such a personal, lovely, addition. We got so many compliments on our ceremony and Rev. Barbara. She really set the tone for the rest of the night, and the night was full of love and happiness.

There is no doubt about it: Reverend Barbara is the best in the business! My husband and I were referred to Barbara by our wedding planner, and we knew as soon as we met with her that she was the right person to officiate our wedding. Not only is Barbara professional and warm, she has an undeniable love for her job and a love for all of her couples. We instantly felt right at home with her and chose to do pre-marital counseling sessions with her to prepare us for our big day and beyond (a wonderful decision that was well worth it). Our ceremony, which Barbara helped us customize, was a dream come true. She captivated everyone in the room and truly helped us bring our families together as one.

Reverend Barbara officiated our wedding in August and truly made our ceremony one-of-a-kind!

Every detail of the ceremony is personalized based on your preference - which really makes for a special celebration. We just watched our video of our wedding and I've never seen a ceremony like ours where everyone is literally at the edge of their seat WANTING to hear what is going to be said next (instead of just waiting for the party and free drinks to start :-) ).

Barbara was fantastic. Initially, my husband and I were very worried about picking an officiant. Barbara was all we could ask for and more. Barbara was very helpful in calming our nerves (even during the ceremony). She was smart enough to insert jokes at the appropriate time but was able to still make the ceremony have a serious, meaningful tone. I had serveral guests tell me after the ceremony that they really liked Barbara. She is a smart, poised, and extremely professional. Thank you Barbara for helping us make the day so special! Barbara exceeded mine and my husbands expectations when it not only came to her professionalism but also her creative and unique ideas as well. She is such a warm and welcoming soul and we admittedly felt like we had known her for years even after our first meeting with her. Reverend Barbara recently performed our wedding and we couldn't have been happier. For starters, the ceremony wasn't the stuffy, formal sermon I have come to expect. She asked what we wanted to be portrayed and delivered ten fold. We wanted a nondenominational ceremony and the brides parents were very religious and I think the perfect balance was made. She is also familiar with many of the vendors in the conejo valley area which helps a lot when coordinating everything. She was very professional in all our communication and everything was done in a timely manner. We really loved our wedding because of Rev. Barbara and we think you will too.

While planning our wedding at the Westlake Village Inn, we noticed Barbara's name on their preferred vendor list and decided to give her a call. She was the first and only Officiant we needed to talk to. My husband and I couldn't have picked a lovelier person to be a part of our special day. From the moment we met Barbara, we felt like we had known her forever and at each meeting we felt comfortable and at ease. Our ceremony was perfect and we got so many compliments from guests saying that it was the best ceremony they had ever been a part of. My wife and I were married on June 21, 2014, and had been dating for 20 years before we tied the knot. You always dream of your wedding day and hope everything goes as planned.
Our wedding day was the best day of my life and could not even think about having someone else besides Reverand Barbara to perform our ceremony. We had the best wedding and could not have dreamed of a better day. The whole process with Barbara was so warm and kind. Each time we met up with her to go over our ceremony was a great experience. I know she senses this with couples and makes sure that she make each and every moment something to remember and enjoy. My step son and daughter in-law were married by Rev. I can't even begin to describe how absolutely wonderful Rev Barbara was for our wedding! From the first time we talked on the phone, she immediately made us feel comfortable and we hit if off the first time we met her. We booked her immediately. After having spoken to many other officiants before meeting Rev Barbara, there was no question that she was the best one out there for us. She was always easy to reach and accomodated our schedules. We loved how she had suggestions for our vows but allowed us to customize our choices to really reflect how we felt. The day of our wedding, she showed up early, found our witnesses to sign our marriage certificate, and made us feel so comfortable and ready. The ceremony was incredible thanks to Rev Barbara. It was the most important day of our lives, and we were saying the most important vows of our lives and Rev Barbara communicated them perfectly. First of all, we interviewed a couple officiants for our big day and the minute we met with Barbara, we knew she was "the one". There really is nothing as important on the big day (aside from your awesome dress, of course) as the officiant you choose. This person is in the middle with you on the most important intimate day of your life and you have to choose wisely!
We could not have asked for a more amazing individual to guide us through our ceremony. We had the amazing opportunity to do our pre-marital counseling with Barbara so she was able to get to know us before our wedding. Not only if she an amazing counselor, she is a beautiful soul and truly cared about my husband and I. I have to admit, we felt like family after our counseling!
The day of our wedding was beautiful. We had a minor slip up with the mic (the DJ's mishap) but Barbara continued without a hitch. Our "love letters" were read and brought our guests to tears. Once you meet with Barbara, she gives you several options on how to conduct your ceremony and one of the options was a love letter. My husband and I wrote each other letters and they were read for the first time to each other at the ceremony. It was so unique and special!
I have never had so many people come up to me after the ceremony and tell me how wonderful Barbara was. Of course everyone wants to say their wedding was the most amazing, but Barbara really sealed it.
I would recommend Barbara to anyone getting married or even just needing counsel in their marriage in a heartbeat. I learned so much about my husband and communication through her guidance.
If you are looking for a graceful speaker and someone who makes your wedding completely unique and special, Barbara is absolutely the way to go!

I can not say enough great things Reverend Barbara! I was referred to her by a close friend of mine to officiate our upcoming wedding. I called Barbara one evening after work and discussed her services, experience, and the envision I had for my wedding day. Her warm, friendly voice, and passion for her work instantly put my heart as ease knowing everything was going to go as I imagined since I was a little girl. We hired Barbara to not only officiate our wedding, but we also went through our premarital counseling sessions as well. The premarital counseling was fabulous. I think it its a great tool that ALL couples should go through. We went over the big life questions (like kids, religion, family, etc) but she also taught us amazing compromising techniques that we use daily in our marriage. The appointments we had with Barbara prior to the ceremony regarding our finalized vows, marriage license and everything in between went smoothly and stress free. Barbara walked us through every step of the process and made this part of wedding planning effortless.

On the day of our wedding, everything couldn't have been more perfect - from beginning until end. On the day of, prior to the ceremony, Barbara kept in regular contact with my husband as she made her way to our venue. Once she arrived, she spoke with our coordinator, made sure everything was perfectly in place and got ready for the ceremony. Once the ceremony began everything flowed exactly as I had imagined. Barbara definitely isn't your everyday officiant that reads from a book or bible; her readings and personalization during the ceremony made our wedding ceremony, truly a one of a kind. Once our ceremony was over, I had EVERYONE that attended our wedding talking about how awesome she was and how beautiful and unique our ceremony was.

Barbara's passion and love for what she does radiates during her ceremonies and any couple that has her officiate their wedding, is a lucky couple.

Gary and I were married on June 22, 1994. Yes, this recommendation is coming from way back, which means as great an Officiant Rev. Barbara was then, she is 20 years' more experienced and more fantastic now. Our wedding was personal with humor inserted, which we loved. I think my groom and I laughed louder than anyone else. Everyone had such a good time at the intimate and small service in my sister-in-laws's beautiful backyard. My husband's daughter was so impressed that she tried to get Rev. Barbara for her wedding in NV. Unfortunately, Rev. Barbara's wedding calendar was full at that time. Rev. Barbara is professional and makes a point of getting to know the bride and groom's personalities through pre-wedding interviews, making the wedding event an experience beyond expectation. Our wedding service was professional, intimate, funny and friendly; and Rev. Barbara was an exceptional Officiant.

Barbara is an extraordinary officiant. In fact, after seeing her perform a friends wedding ceremony, I knew I couldn't get married without her. From day 1 to the final day Barbara was so great to work with. Barbara is AMAZING! She is so warm and friendly and makes you feel at home instantly. Her words, ideas, readings, everything really...are differnt then any other wedding I have been too, and we loved that! She helped us make our whole ceremony personal and special and got to know us as a couple. We received a recommendation for Barbara from our wedding coordinator. Our initial impression was good. Everything seemed to be working well until the day of the wedding (obviously the most important part). Prior to the ceremony we had gone over very specific things that Barbara was going to say & do. We wanted it as short as possible in order to maximize our reception time. She lengthened our ceremony by adlibbing & making several glaring mistakes throughout. We had specifically asked Barbara not to ask "who gives this bride in marriage" & she asked anyway, which then caused confusion as this question was unexpected. We had also written a love letter to each other that she read. At one point she was supposed to say "I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you" instead she decided to selectively edit it to say "I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my WEEKENDS with you." So Monday through Friday we are on our own apparently. We had also included our nicknames, which she edited out & simply read our regular names. These were some of several errors she made while simply reading what we wrote for her. At another point, in the middle of the ceremony she asked "which way do we want the microphone facing?" Something she should've covered beforehand instead of during the ceremony. Barbara also didn't complete our wedding certificate, she had our witnesses sign it without us, & never asked us to sign it. Plus, she recommended a notary that botched the wedding license so we had to resubmit it & didn't get our certificate until 4 months after our wedding. We only used her notary to make it easier & in the long run, with all the calls we had to make to the county, it ended up being a much bigger hassle & was much more expensive than if we would had done it on our own. In all honesty we loved our wedding & had a great time but if we had to do it again we would have went with someone other than Barbara & we would certainly not recommend her to others.
