Katie was amazing! With Roche Harbor’s coordinating and execution staff already included in our venue fee, we wondered if we needed to hire a planner as well…Katie was 100% worth it! We chose the Partial Planning option and couldn’t have been happier with it. Being local to the island and having planned many weddings at Roche Harbor, Katie’s knowledge of timing, logistics, considerations and organization were invaluable to our wedding planning and execution there. Her advice on which details to sweat vs not sweat, how to coordinate shuttles to get 75 guests from Friday Harbor to the wedding and back at the end of the night, and how to structure/prioritize our timeline were extremely helpful. Also, her questionnaires brought up many things we hadn’t thought about before, but were critical in making the day run smoothly — like who is in charge of getting coffees and lunch for the wedding party when they’re getting ready?? We felt so relaxed on our wedding day because we had everything set up with Katie in advance and she executed our vision so wonderfully. We loved working with her and have definitely made a friend in the process too. Thank you!! -

Our dream wedding at roche harbor!
There would have been absolutely no way we would have been able to create and produce our beautiful and magical wedding had it not been for Katie! From the moment we connected on the phone 12 plus months before our wedding to our "good-byes" at the end of our wedding night, Katie's passion and love for what she does overflowed from her heart! We truly had the best experience! Katie not only became our "wedding planner" but also our friend! Her ideas and visions were so clear and precise with every detail and design she offered up! The three words I gave her to describe what we hoped for with our wedding was: SIMPLE, SOFT BUT ELEGANT...and that is exactly what was created! Not one thing was missed! We can not say enough about "Revel Wedding and Events" and the woman behind her successful business!
If you are planning your wedding or any event in the San Juan Islands area, we highly recommend Katie...she is local which makes the whole experience stress free!
We only wish we could do it all over again just to have the opportunity to work with Katie!

Katie from Revel Weddings was absolutely incredible! She was so organized and help us realize our vision and keep us on track. The website she uses was awesome and helped us stay within budget and was the central place for all our vendor contacts. Our wedding day was exactly how we imagined it and we owe it all to her! Katie is AMAZING!! We worked with her for all our wedding signage and everything was gorgeous and exactly what we were looking for. She nailed our vision, had great attention to detail, and amazing communication. From our welcome sign to our seating chart, table numbers, bar menu, and more, everything was perfect. Partnering with Katie was by far the best decision and investment we could have made as an engaged couple, and we will forever be grateful for her friendship and her efforts in making all our wedding dreams come true! (If you are on the fence, read no further. She is worth is!)
When we first got engaged, we weren't even sure if we wanted a planner... but in hindsight we cannot fathom how we could EVER have thrown a wedding together without Katie and her team. From setting up an initial budget through day-of event coordination, Katie was incredibly organized, communicative, and adaptable.
We came into the wedding planning process as a very detail-oriented and high-stress couple who had no idea what to expect and no experience whatsoever, but almost immediately we could tell Katie was an expert. She set up a comprehensive checklist of each task we needed to do and when we had to complete it by so we always knew what we were responsible for each month - and so we weren't overwhelmed with things that could be dealt with later. We were also able to easily track vendor contracts, expenses and how they tracked against our budget, and more. We looked forward to our regular meetings + email and phone conversations with Katie and always felt like we were in great hands.
Even more importantly, Katie offered her invaluable perspective throughout the process (especially for a couple who had never spent time living in the Pacific Northwest). As a native to the San Juan Islands, she has great relationships and experience working with local vendors and could always point us to folks who offered what we were specifically looking for. Based on the parts of the wedding that were important to us, she also offered great guidance on the tradeoffs of going with vendors or purchases at different price points. This allowed us to choose vendors who were aligned with our vision for the weekend and use our budget efficiently on the elements of the wedding we most prioritized.
Katie is also a wizard with all things design. Based on our initial Pinterest board inspiration, she came up with a very comprehensive design deck (everything from the florals to candles to signage) that she then worked with us to iterate on based on our reactions and new ideas. By the end of the planning process, in the final weeks before the big day, we basically had complete trust in Katie's artistic vision and would simply sign off on the amazing work she put into things like our rehearsal dinner table settings or the seat assignment cards - she's just that good!
Our wedding weekend was truly magical and there was not a single moment where we felt anxious or overwhelmed by logistics. Katie and her team made it feel effortless, even though behind the scenes they were working tirelessly to adapt to everything from weather forecasts to tech difficulties to the requests of our high-maintenance friends and family.
I don't think we ever stopped smiling for a minute of our wedding weekend, and we even had multiple guests comment that they were taking notes for their own big days in the future. If you want a magician who will make your wedding dreams come true, look no further than Katie and her amazing team.

My wife and I would recommend Katie and Revel to anyone looking to get married in the area. We were lucky to have such a dedicated and communicative professional helping us through every aspect of planning. We were living 3000 miles away from our wedding venue; planning during COVID at a location we've never been to; not once did we feel worried or concerned about our planning needs which is not an easy feat. On the day of the wedding, Katie was a force and had an immense stature which made us feel secure in the day. Anything that came up was immediately addressed and Katie always had a keen eye on the goings on during the big day; showing up early and staying late like a true professional. We cannot thank Revel enough for the amazing wedding planning and hope you choose them for your big day! -

We had such a great experience planning our wedding with Katie! Her relationships with vendors on the island as well as experience in planning a destination wedding were so essential to the coordination of every detail of our weekend.
Of Katie's many package offerings, we knew we would want as much help as possible and opted for her Full Planning package. Worth every penny! From event design to logistics and vendor management, Katie took everything off our plate. With so much experience, she thought of things that I never would have and made sure that once our weekend was here, we didn't need to stress about a single thing.
We had such an amazing time bringing our friends and family out to the magical Friday Harbor and coming all corners of the U.S. it was no small feat. Katie played a huge part in that and we are so thankful to have been able to work with her!

The Best Decision We Made!
Katie and the team at Revel were simply amazing! We knew that we wanted a San Juan Island wedding, and Katie made all our dreams a reality. Despite the constantly changing world of COVID, Katie remained our rock and navigated us through all the challenges with a smile. Planning a wedding is stressful even in the best of times. Katie at Revel went above and beyond so many times during our planning process to help us have the event we had dreamed of. She took the time to get to know us-- when we started our process, we had a general notion of what we wanted, but by talking to Katie, she helped us verbalize our vision so that all three of us understood what we were looking for. Her professionalism and flexibility made a nervous couple dealing with COVID confusion be able to feel confident in their special day. Finally, the actual wedding + reception could not have been more smooth & seamless for us-- the whole event flowed incredibly well and felt professional. Katie moved mountains for us to make things happen just as we had planned without stress on our end. We can't imagine having done our wedding without Revel! -

Day of wedding coordinator
We hired Revel Weddings & Events to be our day of coordinator for our wedding at Roche Harbor on San Juan Island. Revel was incredibly helpful leading up to our wedding day and helped to coordinate the details between all our vendors. Katie was always responsive and timely to any of our questions and helped us so much with planning for our big day! When it came to our actual wedding day Revel helped everything go by so smoothly and we didn't have to think about a thing other than having fun and getting married! We would recommend Revel to anyone planning a wedding or a party! We are so glad we decided to hire a day of coordinator and chose Revel - it was the best money we spent. -

We would give Katie and the Revel team 10 stars if we could. She handled everything with grace and class and I can't imagine a more perfect partner to go through this process with. She is organized and punctual while being fun and creative. She is 110% reliable and never missed or was late for a meeting/deadline/contract signing/you name it she did on time or early. She knows the San Juan Islands and the locals there and can make magic happen. Most importantly, she is a great person with a great family and is someone that you can feel great about supporting and sharing your wedding day with. This review is long overdue! Our destination wedding took place pre-COVID, but that doesn't mean planning went smoothly. My then-fiancé and I had vague aesthetics in mind for our wedding without any actual decorations made or purchased. With only a couple months to go, we finally caved and hired the planning services of Katie over at Revel Weddings + Events.
I mean it when I say that, without Katie, I'm certain the wedding would not only have been a mishandled disaster, but the stress would've destroyed our ability to enjoy the big day. Katie took charge immediately, putting together moodboards and scheduling frequent video calls to ensure our vision was enacted perfectly. She coordinated with other rental companies on our behalf, though her own stock of wedding-related paraphernalia often met our needs. In just a few short weeks, Katie had wrangled together a ceremony and reception that exceeded our wildest expectations. She even served as our day-of coordinator, allowing us the time and space to actually breathe and enjoy the gorgeous wedding she had worked so hard to achieve.
Honestly, I cannot recommend Katie enough to any couples looking to get married on San Juan Island! She's beyond incredible and will not disappoint. -

If you are trying to decide if you need a day of coordinator or wedding planner – the answer is Katie. We hired her as a day of coordinator for our wedding at Roche Harbor and she was such a delight. She was more than professional and knowledgeable on every subject from overall timeline to all the little details you didn’t know you needed to think about. She provided her expertise and advice which was beyond helpful. While we ultimately ended up having to cancel our dream wedding at Roche Harbor and downsize to our backyard, Katie helped ands supported us every step of the way. I can’t recommend Katie enough!! -

Katie is the best wedding planner out there!
We can’t say enough good things about Katie and her wedding planning artistry! She is truly a superwoman.
We initially tried to plan our elopement on San Juan Island on our own - even though we’re out of state, we figured an elopement couldn’t be that hard. WRONG. There are so many details and it isn’t always easy to get in touch with island vendors from afar. But Katie was there to save the day! She took our ideas for what we wanted for our wedding day and transformed them into a day so perfect we couldn’t have imagined it. You can tell she has great relationships with local vendors and gives you great options to choose from.
When it came to picking photo and dinner locations, she went above and beyond and provided helpful photos and videos so it felt like we were there making decisions with her. She was always available for calls and countless emails and provided so much support and advice when COVID threw a monkey wrench in our plans. Despite COVID, she pulled everything together seamlessly and safely. Despite the pandemic, I think it’s truly a reflection of her skill that the least stressful wedding we’ve ever been to was our own.

My fiance and I had our wedding planned on Orcas Island in July 2020, then Covid came and everything was turned upside down! My stress levels were at an all-time high trying to adjust to the situation, and Katie was WONDERFUL throughout the whole process. She is calm, organized, and her communication was excellent. Katie was AMAZING. First, she has an awesome program that we used to communicate and make sure we were on track with planning. We did a lot of things ourselves, but absolutely needed her help with details and logistics that only a planner would know to keep track of. She was crucial in organizing all our vendors and communicating with everyone involved. She had great connections on the island as well. The best wedding I've ever been to ... and it happened to be ours! My wife and I had a medium to small wedding - 80 people. Very close friends and family. For some of them, detestation, had to travel to the San Juan Islands and Katie started to provide her support right away with logistics like letting us know when to book ferries etc. We did a lot of the wedding sourcing and ideating ourselves but leaned heavily on Katie for day of logistics and month of coordination. She was able to stand up the wedding location, decorations, and organize everything the day off in a matter of a few hours! Everything was flawless. She was first of all – invisible. There are things to this day that I have no idea how they happened. We never felt pressured, stressed, or forgotten, on the contrary, relieved, happy, and supported are the words that come to mind when thinking of Katie and her services. When we do our vow renewal I will definitely hire Katie again and I would advise to anyone looking to get married and find local and amazing vendors for your event at the San Juan Island, to work with Katie – it’s a must just to be able to navigate island time. All we have left to say is THANK YOU THANK YOU for making this such a worry-less experience and helping us enjoy our wedding as the best one we’ve ever been to.

My husband and I got married at Roche Harbor this past July and Katie was our day-of coordinator. Katie was such an integral part of our wedding team! She made sure everyone was where they needed to be, and took all of the pressure off of me! It ended up pouring rain unexpectedly during the ceremony and Katie quickly had the resort grab a bunch of umbrella's for our guests. I've told her this so many times, but I seriously don't know what I would have done without her! My only regret is not hiring her for full wedding planning services. -

AMAZING Partial-planning for my wedding dah
Katie was AMAZING. I can’t rave about her enough. She thought of EVERYTHING. She was calm, knew exactly what she was doing and did everything she could to make my day perfect. She did the partial planning for me and it was amazing. She helped with everything from decorations to moving driving my gifts to my house on the wedding night. She went above and beyond and truly made me feel like her family. My family didn’t think a wedding planner was necessary but they quickly changed their mind the minute Katie sat down with us at our first meeting. She worked around my schedule to set up meetings and never made me feel like any request was over the top. You can’t find a better wedding planner. HIRE HER IN A HEARTBEAT. -

Absolute professional and incredible problem solver
Katie is amazing. She didn’t mind that I sent her texts at all hours of the day and night as I got closer to my wedding date. She accepted and helped me problem solve the fact that I had absolutely no décor, no lighting, no sound, and no event rentals booked 2 months before my wedding date. She was helpful and steadfast when the day of the wedding I hadn’t accomplished nearly as many tasks as I’d intended. Instead, she took on all the stress of the day so that myself, my husband, and our friends and family could enjoy ourselves. She was responsive, solution oriented, professional, helpful, and worth every penny. I had a lot of stressful moments in the months leading up to the wedding that she handled with grace. Because of her and her awesome vendor recommendations, we were able to enjoy what was truly the best day of our lives. It was magical from start to finish and it unequivocally would not have happened without her. Hire her. She will make your wedding a magical paradise, just like she did for me. -

Loved working with Katie!
I Honestly can't say enough good things about working with Katie. She was very responsive, professional and overall a lovely person. We started talking about a year before our wedding and as the day approached she checked in many times to go over the details. I sent her the contacts for all the vendors we were using and she continued conversations with them and made sure they knew where to be when. Katie was very on top of it and thought of many details that we would have over looked (ie. garbage cans, bringing our brides bouquets to where we started taking picture, suggesting a pop of color table cloth for the cake table which looked so nice). We also added heaters to our order the day before the wedding and she had no problem adding them on for us. It was also really nice to have her there to keep everyone on schedule so that we did not have to herd cats around all evening. Everything went so perfectly. When I arrived and saw all the tables set up I was so happy! I had ordered all my flowers from Costco and she took the time to arrange them all (something I had overlooked and not asked her to do). I would highly recommend using Katie to anyone who has an upcoming wedding. THANK YOU SO MUCH!! -
