When it came to finding an officiant, I was having such a hard time finding someone that I felt was right. I wanted someone that could capture the love that my husband and I have for each other. When I talked to Victoria on the phone I knew right away she was perfect. She was so sweet and I connected with her right away. We worked together through email and she put together a perfect ceremony for my wedding. She was so easy to work with and made my wedding day so special. My father in law had just passed away two weeks before the wedding and she put in a special tribute to him in the ceremony. Thank you so much Victoria!

I was looking for a wedding officiant when I found Rev. Victoria Hutchins online. Initially, I was planning a ceremony with a very quick turn around (days). She was on-board immediately. However, due to my own scheduling issues, we ended up picking a date 2 months out. Rev. Victoria was there to lead us through the entire planning process for our small intimate double- wedding event. RiverMist is a beautiful venue for such an event. Every correspondence with her was punctual and friendly as we decided all of the details. Upon arriving at RiverMist on the date of our wedding, we were greeted by the most loving smile with the friendliest couple (Guy and Victoria) to share our special day. We could not have asked for more. Our only regret was that we did not have more foresight to take better picture with Rev. Victoria to help us to remember our day. Guy served as our photographer and we will forever be thankful for their assistance as we begin our new lives as married couples.

Derek and I were so pleased with Victoria and Guy's hospitality and professionalism. We were nervous at first to book a venue out of state, not actually having seen it before our wedding day, but it was absolutely beautiful!! What we wanted was a special, intimate setting without feeling rushed and it was all that and more. Guy also took photos which turned out great and we got to take them with us before leaving. We were very pleased with the entire process, from the communication to the planning, everything to the the event and even the follow up!! We'd highly recommend booking with them :)

Victoria Hutchins is an experienced, kind, generous and sensitive officiant, and she and her husband Guy made our wedding ceremony a wonderfully special event. She wrote our ceremony, and it was perfect for us, being very private people, and spiritual rather than religious. The location of RiverMist was ideal, and so lovely. Guy took great photographs, and they both made us feel so welcome and at ease. We cannot thank Victoria enough for her capable and heartfelt "officiating" and highly recommend her!

Our wedding was perfect. Since it was a two-groom wedding we worried about how the whole thing would play out. Victoria made our day run like a fine oiled machine. Several of our guest commented on our ceremony. We could not have gotten a better officiant.

Victoria helped make our day even more special than I could have imagined. I really wanted a wedding without all of the typical stress so that we could focus on each other and our children. Victoria helped us prepare every step of the way. I have never been involved in the planning of a wedding, so I really needed that. The ceremony and the setting were simply beautiful. I loved hearing the sound of the water below us. Even my young girls -were touched by the ceremony. This was a huge day for them too and Victoria beautifully acknowledged them and their importance to us during the ceremony.
We also loved having the cake outside on the bridge. The cake was more beautiful than I expected - and delicious too.
Victoria and husband were such gracious hosts - allowing us and our lively children to use there home to prepare. Again, it was beautiful. Her husband also provided us with a cd of wedding photos that we will cherish forever.

My husband and I planned our NC wedding from Ohio, and Rev. Victoria was wonderful! We found her on the Internet and she responded right away, was able to get everything done via email, and always responded quickly. We were so happy that she helped us through all the steps, had many suggestions and let us pick exactly what we wanted and the type of wedding we hoped for. Planning a wedding at the best of times is a stressful time. But for us it was even more so as we are long distance. I live in the UK and my husband lives in the US. We knew we wanted to get married in the US and found Victoria online. She is an absolute blessing. A lovely lady, she helped us with our vows, nothing was too much trouble for her. The ceremony was just beautiful, and extremely precious. It all felt so right. Victoria and her husband Guy are lovely people. Warm, welcoming and very very gracious, nothing was too much for them. They helped with nerves, getting us both relaxed before the ceremony. The ceremony itself was just perfect. The venue is simply breathtaking, the views and surrounding area peaceful and vibrant. Everything worked together to give us a ceremony that we both wanted. We are so glad to have found Victoria, a lovely lady who made our special day all that more special.

Our wedding day could not have been more perfect. Rev Victoria Hutchins will always have a special place in our heart. She makes you fill welcome from the beginning. I was so pleased with Rev Victoria Hutchins. Besides being excellent at giving a wedding service exactly the way you want it to be, she is professional and sweet at the same time, and she knows just what to say to make you feel better: My mom did not attend my wedding and she told me "sometimes family is who we choose them to be." She genuinely cares about people and she even corresponds with you after your event if you keep in touch with her. A wonderful women!

We live in Kentucky and planning a wedding long distance can be stressful but Victoria made every step of the planning easy. The ceremony was beautiful and we chose the outdoor chapel covered bridge as the site, and it was beautiful as well. We were very happy with the site and the ceremony.

From planning to event this was the BEST choice for us! SO EASY! Following the guidance received from our answers to the pre-wedding survey Victoria put together a ceremony that was exactly what we desired. We were able to suggest changes and they were implemented with ease.

We had many compliments on the venue and how everything was together, making it a smooth day. Victoria and Guy were patient as we waited for lost guests and made everyone feel comfortable and welcome.

The weather was a question, as it has been all summer! Fortunately the day was overcast and cooperative for an outdoor event. Guy was able to take several great pictures.

Advice for future brides...Think about what pictures you want. Guy does a great job, but if you want a lot of shots you need to be prepared to tell him what all you want. We weren't sure. I take hundreds of pictures of everything in hopes that I will get a few really spectacular shots and I take a lot without staging. Guy was more targeted in his approach and got several good shots, but I wish I had given more thought to the photography aspect and gotten more pictures of us and the kids.

Because we wanted a simple event we considered planning everything ourselves and using separate officiant/vendor location/etc... I am so glad that we chose Victoria. Smooth, easy, and exactly what we desired. Highly recommend for any couple who wants a small intimate event.

Planning an out of state wedding can be stressful, but Victoria and her husband are the most gracious and wonderful people. My husband and I threw together a wedding at the last moment- we changed our minds on what we were doing, and at the end of the day, just wanted a private ceremony. I contacted several people, including Victoria. She was the first to respond, and offered the best service. Her prices are lower than ANY of her competition; we were looking at North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Oregon, Connecticut, and California. Even though she had family in town, she still performed our ceremony.
It was completely customized; I know couples with traditional weddings who didn't get to build a personalized ceremony the way we did. And the actual ceremony... it was perfect. Everything was flawless, and she and her husband are the most gracious and kind hosts! The property is beautiful, and the pictures are taken with a professional camera. Everything about them is 100% professional, with a low cost!
I have told several of my friends who are looking at wedding venues to talk to Victoria. I was nervous and worried about setting up an out of state wedding, but this service was FLAWLESS. I'm in Tennessee, and we drove 5 hours to get to North Carolina. All we did was show up and enjoy our private moment.

We wanted an easy and stress-free wedding, but still wanted the elements of a traditional ceremony. Victoria made our day very special and it was more than we ever expected. She worked with us to create a ceremony that was perfect for us. We got married at RiverMist, and the place was amazing and absolutely beautiful! The pictures her husband took were incredible, and it is wonderful having those pictures to look back on. Both Victoria and her husband were very kind and welcoming, and made us and our few guests feel very comfortable. We are so glad that we found Victoria to officiate our wedding, and we wouldn't have wanted our wedding day any different.

After searching and exploring options for our elopement, my fiance and I quite accidentally stumbled upon Rivermist Retreat on the internet. I called and spoke with Victoria which was very helpfully and informative during my whole wedding planning process. I will have to admit, I was a little nervous at first because the distance between where we lived and the wedding location was about 3 hours, so I had to correspond via telephone or email. Once our big day arrived, I knew instantly that we had chosen the correct place for our moment. Victoria and her husband, Guy, were so wonderful. All we had to do was show up with our marriage license. The decorations, music, flowers, etc. were wonderful and our service was simply amazing! I would highly recommend Rivermist and Victoria to anyone and my husband and I look forward to returning for a future visit there!

I would highly recommend Victoria Hutchins to anyone. I spent quite a bit of time on the computer looking for the right "fit" for my elopement (officiant, location, etc.), and I found it with her and the Rivermist location.

She was organized, helpful, patient (with date changes!) - but most importantly, it is very obvious that she truly loves what she does and is truly interested in making your special day SPECIAL!

I could not have imagined a more perfect ceremony for my wedding than the one provided by Rev. Victoria Hutchins!! My husband and I had done little planning and had finally decided to elope and at the very last minute, a month before the wedding, we found Rev. Hutchins who was more than willing to help plan, create and officiate our ceremony. I can honestly say that with her assistance our wedding was organized and personalized easily and perfectly, just the way my husband and I had hoped!! It was so much more than we ever thought our wedding would be and even withthe small group we had attending we could feel the love around us, not just from our friends and family but from Rev. Hutchins and her husband as well!!! It was like you knew us eventhough we had just met...They say every girl dreams of her wedding day... well, I'm not that girl, but I know that the ceremony we had was better than a dream, it was exactly what we wanted!!! We were so happy with Reverend Hutchins. From the beginning she asked pertinent questions, gave us an incredible amount of vows, readings, ring exchanges, etc. to choose from. She encouraged us to make the ceremony unique to us. I cannot recommend Victoria enough! She worked with me on my time frame (we planned the wedding in just a few weeks!), and offered so many ways and options to customize our ceremony and make it special to us.

Our wedding was absolutely perfect! She created a ceremony that truly reflected who we are. The place where we got married was decorated beautifully, and her husband took gorgeous photos that we treasure. Afterwards, we had a mini cake reception inside. We never felt rushed at all--it was a relaxed, wonderfully special event. Victoria truly loves what she does, and it shows in all her thoughtful details. I was looking for an Officiant for my North Carolina wedding, I live in South Carolina, when I came across Victoria's Hutchins website. First, I read everything on her website that I possibly could, and then I researched her through a search engine. You have to be careful setting up vendors in another state, in order to make sure that they will fulfill their obligations to you-on time and accurately. I then sent Victoria an email asking her if she would be interested, as we were somewhat further than she normally travels. She emailed me back promptly, asked my date, and she said she was free. After we communicated via email for a week ( I had SO many questions!), I was ecstatic that she was free and would be our officiant. She never hesitated in answering my questions, she reassured me that everything would be okay, and she explained everything that I needed to know. She sent us the informational sheet via email that we filled out; we ran out of room so I asked if my then fiance could share on a seperate email because I wanted to be sure that she would understand us as a couple. With only that information, Victoria wrote our ceremony! And she wrote it one entire month before the wedding for us to review. It sounded as if my written words were formed into an incredibly beautiful ceremony, and that Victoria had known us as long as we had been together! It truly was the most fantastic ceremony I had ever heard; personal and honest...the words flowed freely.

Victoria was always available, whether it be by phone, email, or USPS. She always called or emailed back. She offered to meet in person before the ceremony, and I really did not feel the need to do so, because I already was so comfortable with her.

She arrived at the ceremony 45 minutes early, and we were running 30 minutes late. She did have another wedding to perform, and my bridesmaids raced to meet the 4:30 deadline! It was completely our fault that we were late. She accepted this with grace and with a smile on her face. I greeted her hurriedly, which I did not want to do, yet had no choice. She was extremely calm, and ready for the ceremony. The ceremony was beautiful, and we were officially married! I asked if Victoria could stay for a couple of quick pictures, which she graciously obliged, and they turned out wonderfully. We received compliments from our family and friends on our choice, regarding Victoria. No doubt in my mind, we hired the right officiant for the job.

I hope to keep in contact with Victoria; she is a kind and gentle soul that I would recommend to anyone. In fact, IF she is still available, we would like her to re-new our vows with her in just short of 5 years!

Rev. Hutchins conducted our ceremony at The Farm in Candler, North Carolina. I contacted her pretty early in the planning process because I read the good officiants book up fast. This has to be true because Rev. Hutchins was excellent! She provided me with tons of samples of vows and readings. We ended up choosing several of her suggested readings and writing our own vows. She nailed our ceremony on her first draft, we had zero changes. The ceremony ended up being our favorite and most memorable part of our entire wedding. To all future brides, I would highly recommend Rev. Hutchins!

Rev. Victoria was great!

I planned our elopement ceremony from out of town and was concerned about not meeting with our officiant prior to the ceremony. We communicated solely via email - she responded in a very timely manner. She provided us with a number of options for our ceremony. I provided her with a short story about my fiancé and me to help her prepare our ceremony. We were shocked when she sent the ceremony draft - it was a perfect fit for us.

We are not overly religious or spiritual people but Rev. Victoria Hutchins was still able to provide us with a beautiful ceremony that truly reflected our personalities and beliefs regarding marriage.

She arrived on time, was very professional and even brought her blue tooth speakers so that we could have our wedding music played during our ceremony.

The day of the ceremony she provided us with a decorative marriage certificate and took the responsibility of mailing back the official paperwork to the courthouse for us!

We were overall very pleased!

Victoria recently conducted my ceremony on the 7th of May and she did an amazing job!!! Prior to the ceremony she planned everything through email and was very involved in trying to make our date perfect. River mist was absolutely beautiful and her husband took the most gorgeous photos!!! Everyone loved them!! I found Victoria last minute for my wedding on the Blue Ridge Parkway. She was so easy to coordinate with and had such great material to work with. She fully involved us in coming up with the content and encouraged us to make it our own. We hadn't planned on writing on our vows but were happy to rearrange some examples she provided and ended up personalizing them in a way that was just perfect for us. The actual ceremony was even better than I had expected. I had read the words prior to the ceremony, but hearing them from her while I stood in front of my husband to be was truly overwhelming. She was very professional, but radiated sweetness and kindness. We really lucked out with finding her and I would highly recommend her!!!

Rev. Victoria came out to our location, a remote area of NC mountains where we had our cabin and gladly performed our ceremony. Additionally, it was very important to have our dog at the ceremony and she understood and accommodated our request. We're very pleased with the service she provided.

Victoria was absolutely wonderful! We live in Ohio and were looking for a quiet place to elope near Lake Lure, NC. For a small fee, she provided a service on her beautiful property, personalized our service to meet our needs, and her husband took pictures! It was quiet, and beautiful. Everything we wanted. She even helped me get my hard to tie up dress on! She handled all the paperwork, gave us our copies, and sent us on our way to our honeymoon. It was absolutely a hassle free elopement! I'd do it all over again!

We have nothing but wonderful things to say about Rev. Hutchins. While planning our destination wedding we had to rely a great deal on the internet for reviews and information about vendors. We were looking for someone who would be easy to work with and could help us design a ceremony that was perfect for our small family oriented wedding. When I found Rev. Hutchins on WeddingWire and read some of her fantastic reviews I knew we needed to contact her first. From day one she was extremely helpful and responded to every email within hours. I had a destination wedding in Burnsville, NC. I live in Columbus, OH so the planning wasn't easy. I found Victoria online and read some great reviews. I e-mailed her and the very next day she called me. After speaking with her I knew she was the one! She had my day open and she even volunteered to drive 60 miles to my wedding site! She helped us plan our ceremony all by e-mail! It was customized perfectly just for us! She has all sorts of ceremony options or you can custom make your own! We had the whole ceremony finshed and printed weeks before the wedding so I had one less thing to worry about! The day of the wedding she arrived on time and was everything I had hoped for! I would recommend her to any bride! I'm so lucky to have had her for my big day!

I found Rev. Victoria Hutchins through Chimney Rock's website as I was planning my wedding at Lake Lure. I called and spoke with her and immediately felt as ease and excited about her performing the ceremony. She emailed me copies of several different types of services that she performs and my husband and I picked of everything. She was so easy to work with and had just an abundance of wonderful information and ideas that helpe tailor the ceremony to be what we wanted...something different, special and very meaningful! I was planning a North Carolina wedding from all the way in Florida and wasn't going to be able to make it up prior to the actual wedding to meet with anyone. I found Reverend Victoria and she made everything so simple! She is fantastic when it comes to responding to e-mails right away, flexible with the details of the wedding (we kept changing things on her!), and wrote a beautiful ceremony that was tailored to exactly what we wanted. She also is completely open to changes you want to make and really strives to make the ceremony YOUR ceremony. When the actual day of the wedding came and we finally got to meet her we were even more impressed! You can tell she really cares about what she does and having that great energy coming from the person marrying you makes the ceremony even more special. She's professional yet warm and personal. If you're getting married in the Asheville area then Reverend Victoria is surely the way to go!

We just got home last night. What a wonderful vacation/ honeymoon!!! We did alot of sightseeing in your beautiful state. I got up this morning and told Michael that I'm sure it's not gonna be 68 degrees outside like it was there. haha.

Victoria is absolutely amazing to work with. I felt as if I had been friends with her forever. She responded promptly anytime I had a question. We met in person over coffee to get better acquainted. She was definitely on top of it all. She sent me a note the week prior to our wedding to remind me of a few things. Our ceremony couldn't have been more perfect. Everyone commented on how wonderful she was and how did I find her. And after our ceremony I went back to her earlier email which had a wonderful list of how to change your name and which accounts to change that I hadn't even thought of.

I could not have asked for a better officiant for our wedding. We live out of state and had to do everything through email. Victoria made us feel welcomed, was very easy to talk to and get along with. Her husband Guy, who did our photography, was just as great. These two have outstanding skills that sure to impress you and everyone else involved. We literally felt like we had met long lost family members when we finally were able to meet them on our wedding day. I recommend them to anyone and everyone if you want A+ service and no stress. Victoria provided a service that made our special day truly wonderful. She was able to anticipate questions we hadn't even thought of yet and guide us along the way. The spot by the stream was perfect for us and even though we chose a day that was very hot, 107 to be exact, it was still comfortable in the shade by the babbling stream. The ceremony had been put together exactly as we asked and even improved in a way that only someone with a thoughtful and kind heart could. Her obvious experience and desire to make a very special memory for us was evident in every detail. The pictures were great and such an added value. If I could give 10s for all of the categories above I would! Victoria and Guy made our wedding day absolutely perfect and treated us like family! We chose to have a private elopement and it was the best decision ever. Our families and friends are so happy to see the amazing pics to get a glimpse into what it was like. I've made a couple photo books for us and our parents and they look professional!

We loved everything about our trip, especially the wedding and time spent with at RiverMist (Victoria and Guy's private retreat which is beautiful and the perfect backdrop for a ceremony), the B&B we stayed at in Asheville, hiking at Dupont Forest, going out on a paddle boat on a lake, exploring Asheville and eating the most amazing meals ever. It was the perfect way to start our marriage ... which feels fantastic so far. We even got the marriage licenses just a few days after we got married - Victoria mailed the info in right away.

I've already sent Victoria's info to the daughter of a friend of my Dad's who's mom saw the pics and wanted to know more:) Hopefully we can send more great couples her way!

It was such a joy meeting Victoria and Guy and so special and absolutely perfect to share our special day with them.

Rev. Victoria went out of her way to make our wedding day special. Friends and family are still talking about our beautiful love-filled ceremony. Weddings have become a big BUSINESS! Somewhere along the way, the "marriage" part sadly gets pushed to the back burner! My, now, husband and I were determined to not let this happen! Victoria and Guy guided us through this process with a breeze, really focusing and individualizing the ceremony to suit us. As I was the groom and not the bride, I can only speak to my perception but I hope the following is useful;
I cannot begin to express my gratitude to Victoria and Guy for the lovely ceremony you arranged for Kara and me. I never imagined I would marry so I had no idea what my wedding would look like. Our ceremony at Rivermist was all I expected and more.
The most overwhelming part was trying to narrow down all the options you provided us. I have seen my siblings go through the whole church/wedding/guest nightmare and was so thrilled that all I had to concentrate on that day was how lucky I was to be marrying the most wonderful woman in the world.
You were able to assimilate and accommodate requests from both of us while managing to create a sense of peace, serenity, and flow to the ceremony. Everything was absolutely perfect, I would only have asked for more snow (not your department)!
For couples who desire a quiet, intimate ceremony where the main focus is on each other, I would highly recommend looking into Rivermist. It was undoubtedly the single most wonderful day of my life.

Victoria was so wonderful to work with us!! We had to change our original date and she immediately provided the date of our second choice. She sent us a copy of our ceremony and we were able to make any changes we chose. We opted to have a small, private ceremony at RIVERMIST, and once we arrived, we were made to feel very much at home!!
The background was breathtaking...the sun was shining on our faces and we had the sound of the river immediately behind us. The wording of the ceremony was simply beautiful!!
My nine year old son was included in the vows and in the sand ceremony, which made him feel very much a part of things. Victoria even presented him with a polished pink quartz stone in a velvet bag as his reminder of the day. We were presented with a copy of our vows and ceremony, along with a lovely marriage keepsake certificate!!
We also received over 40 photographs, taken with professional quality. We have had several comments on how natural they made us look!!
If you want a wedding that has memories to last a lifetime, I would suggest using Victoria as your officiant. And I thank her from the bottom of my heart, for making my special day so memorable!!

What a pleasure it was to have Victoria perform our wedding ceremony on April 24th, 2010. My husband and I were getting married at a very quaint, romantic bed and breakfast in Hendersonville, NC. We know what we wanted and the moment we met Victoria, we agreed that she would be perfect. She was simply authentic and so down to earth. She represented the both of us individually and as a couple as if she had known us for years. She was gracoius, warm and genuinely happy to be there.

I shared with her our vows a couple of weeks prior and changed them, trying to get them just perfect. It was awesome as she was able to sneak a surprise in there (from my husband).

I will always remember this day and her warmth and I would highly recommend Victoria for anyone that wants to feel special and then some.

Whew! What a wonderful ceremony! I can not elaborate enough on all the kind time and thought Victoria put into our wedding ceremony at their retreat center RiverMist, which I heard about through an online search. The location was perfect! In fact, it was more gorgeous and beautiful than pictures are able to capture. I loved the sound of the stream and her home was beautiful inside and out - making each setting for the pictures really nice! She and her husband were very welcoming, which was a huge relief, since we were unable to meet before the ceremony. Nothing was rushed. We were given as much time as we needed to change and get ready during our big day. Even small weddings take alot of planning. The relief of finally getting married in a way we loved, no longer worrying about family getting along and finding RiverMist, etc. were released upon finally meeting Victoria. I had to keep myself from crying all during the ceremoy! The reception was certainly a nice way to relax and breathe. That being said, I am especially grateful to her husband, Guy, for capturing beautiful pictures with us smiling that my family and I can cherish. I was soo glad he knew the ropes and took professional looking photography even though I was terribly shy and weepy! My ceremony and pictures were certainly everthing I hoped for and more. Plus, the cake was delicious and made it home to Chapel Hill, along with my beautiful flowers that she helped arrange with a local florist! The high quality of the flowers, cake, photos, location and care put into the service were unbelievable for the small price. As graduate students, we never expected to get such a wonderful package for our tiny budget!

Victoria composed a beautifully written ceremony for us. She was really great to work with and accomodated all of our wishes. Communication between email was really convenient for us and all was very clear and simple to do. Our wedding day was great! My only thing was that it seemed as though she was speaking a little rushed. I know we were running behind (we were trying to wait for some family that drove 14 hours to get there!) and perhaps I felt the "wedding rush" as well, but I just wish it could have been slowed down a bit so we could really soak in the moment. But overall, everything was great.
