Made Our Wedding Day Extra Special!

I was so nervous the night before the wedding and attending our rehearsal dinner. We had a destination wedding in Key West and planning from thousands of miles away, we used recommendations to hire Rev. Steve Torrence. Let me tell you, BEST DECISION WE MADE in regards to wedding planning. He made me immediately become comfortable during the rehearsal dinner, made us laugh during the ceremony as a pirate ship sailed behind us during the ceremony, and truly cared about what he was doing and what we wanted. The majority of our wedding guests came up to us during the reception asking how we found him and talking about how great he was.

Amazing Experience

Reverend Steve did an amazing job helping us craft our wedding ceremony. It is hard picking an officiant from one thousand miles away, but we heard from a Key West photographer that Steve was the best! After our phone call with Steve, we really liked his personality and attitude and we were comfortable having him host our same sex ceremony. We loved working with his suggestions as well as incorporating readings we found ourselves. On the day of our wedding at the Key West Lighthouse, we had several interruptions, from a rain delay, to well wishers on the trolley, to a car driving by with some VERY in appropriate music. Steve handled all the curve balls with humor and grace and none of our guests will ever forget our ceremony. If you are looking for an officiant who will work with you to craft your perfect ceremony, look no further!

The best of the best

I asked a few different people (my planner, videographer, venue) who I should choose for an officiant because I didn't really know how to pick. Every single one of them said "Go with Steve, hands down". That should say something about how wonderful he is. I never expected our wedding officiant to be my favorite vendor out of all the people that day, but wow, I was so impressed with him that I was talking about him for days afterwards. From our very first email, Steve was so joyful, warm, funny, helpful, and open. He made sure to explain to us that the ceremony is about us and that we could customize it any way we want. My husband and I both shed a lot of tears during our ceremony (in a good way!), and Steve made sure to turn off his mic, and speak to both of us to really help us take in the moment. I've been to some weddings where the officiant ruins an otherwise beautiful ceremony, but Steve elevated ours to such a beautiful and personal moment that I will forever cherish. So many guests complimented me on how wonderful he was. If I had to do it all over again, I would choose Steve a million times over. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

Such a wonderful officiant!

Steve was so warm and kind from our first email I knew he would be perfect for our wedding ceremony. We had a non-denominational ceremony and it was perfect. He was so patient with our wild family during the rehearsal. Also, he was so calming when I couldn’t stop crying happy tears coming down the aisle. So happy that Steve was part of our special day.

Perfect officiant choice!

My husband and I are so happy we had Rev. Steve officiate our wedding. We had a destination wedding, so we didn't know any officiants in the area, but he came very highly recommended by our venue. Admittedly, we were a bit nervous at first as we are not very religious. However, Steve was instantly so friendly and made it very clear from our first conversation not only how much he loves what he does, but also how deferential he was to making our ceremony about us and what we wanted our special day to be. Steve was funny and friendly, and put my husband and I (who do not like attention and were nervous about standing up in front of everyone at our ceremony) at ease. He was so natural, fun, and good-humored on the day of our wedding. He made us and all our guests laugh, and worked with us to create the ceremony of our dreams. He provided templates we could work with to "design" our ideal ceremony, and allowed us to have total input over what we added or took out of those templates, including personalized introductions and readings, until our ceremony was "just right" and so "us." During the ceremony, as happens a lot in Key West, a plane flew over in the middle of my vows. Steve knew exactly how to handle it and I appreciated in that and every moment that we had chosen him as our officiant. We are so thankful to Steve for helping make our ceremony so beautiful, fun, and special, and we give him our highest recommendation! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, Steve!

Great Officiant!

We picked Steve based on recommendations from our venue. We were both very pleased with Steve's relaxed demeanor and casual vibe. We had a civil ceremony at the Hemingway Home and my now husband was extremely hot in his suit. Steve picked up on his discomfort and made it a priority to allow for some time to dry my husband's suit jacket by the fan before the ceremony. Steve made the ceremony special, but lighthearted and kept it short and sweet. We also appreciated his responsiveness through e-mail and flexibility with rehearsal times. Many thanks!

Rev. Steve Torrence made our wedding ceremony unforgetable! Not only was he a pleasure to work with (who knew rehearsals could be so fun?), but our ceremony was absolutely beautiful. My husband and I were nervous during the ceremony and Rev. Steve made us laugh, relax and actually made it so we were able to stop and take everything in. When you hire Rev. We "got" Reverend Steve Torrence with our wedding package through Say Yes in Key West and absolutely loved him. He was incredibly professional but had a mellow, relaxed demeanor about him that was a God-send. I will admit that I was a mess with emotions walking down the aisle and not having met me beforehand, he could not have done better at calming and helping me get through the ceremony. He made sure we knew this ceremony was about us and taking the time to speak slowly and have me take deep breaths were things that you don't really treasure until looking back on the event. Never having met us before, he nailed our personalities perfectly and what we wanted out of the ceremony; nothing overly religious but not a civil ceremony, either. We had a very small ceremony (appx. 30 people) and my husband said Reverend Steve was out talking with family and joking around with him prior to my arrival. Again, having never met us before the ceremony, he fit into our perfect day effortlessly and we could not have asked for more.

Steve was excellent! He stepped in only about a month before our wedding when our former officiant plans fell through, and he did an excellent job! Because we had a destination wedding in Key West, we didn't have a lot of time to sit down and chat, but he made the most of the time we did have. He tailored our ceremony to our wishes and made sure both me and my husband were comfortable with it. We live in a different part of Florida and decided to get our license there instead of Monroe county, and he still took care of the after-ceremony paperwork for us. I've seen a lot of reviews saying that Steve does a good job with religious ceremonies, but our ceremony was mostly secular and he did a great job with that too! On time for everything and very friendly and professional.

Steve is the best! He was always easily available by phone and email and let us be fully involved in creating the ceremony. I was able to use some of his samples and a base and then add/change whatever we wanted. Our ceremony was beautiful and everyone raved about Rev. Steve. You cannot go wrong with him.

Highly recommend Rev. Steve Torrence to officiate your wedding. He is so timely in responding to emails and phone calls - he made us feel so confident and comfortable. On the day of rehearsal, he took his time and gave us advice on timing, where to look, voice projection, EVERYTHING - stuff we had never thought of. During the ceremony, Steve was phenomenal. We met Steve the day before the wedding, at the rehearsal, and found him to be very warm and kind. We had a civil ceremony and I found that he made it very special. Rev. Steve is a wonderful man and he was a great fit for our wedding. He is personable, caring, and well spoken. At the ceremony, he did a truly outstanding job. He adapted gracefully to the strong wind that was gusting during the ceremony, and led every aspect of the ceremony in an experienced yet personal way. He was such a smiling and reassuring presence for us as we tied the knot. I could not recommend Rev. Steve more highly if you are getting married in Key West.

We had our wedding at the Reach Resort in Key West and used Rev. Steve as our officiant. He was so great!!! He sent us a ceremony sample that he uses for weddings and allowed us to make any changes we wanted (additions and exclusions) to make out special day exactly how we wanted it! He met us for a brief rehearsal the Friday before to go over everything and make sure it everything would be perfect. I could not have imagined a better person to marry us. Thanks so much Rev. Steve for making our special day so magical!

Steve was awesome...we had rain storms to deal with, a bridal 'wardrobe malfunction' that led me to being late to my own wedding...and he just calmed everything down and helped us have the wedding of our dreams with the water behind us and the sun shining. His timing was perfect in getting in all done between the bands of rain showers and with the bride in a state of panic...it was absolutely perfect. And he was right, now that the wedding is done we are remembering all the memories of the day fondly and even laughing about them (broken zipper and all).

Reverend Steve was just want we needed for our wedding. He was able to keep us calm, incorporate religion to the extent we wanted and make us laugh throughout the ceremony. He made us feel very comfortable and was great to work with.
Reverend Steve even managed to coordinate a fly over with navy jets while holding off the rain for our ceremony!

I read reviews and did online searches and Rev. Steve seemed like the perfect person to marry us. When we finally got to meet him a couple days before the wedding I knew he was the right person for the job. He was professional, gave suggestions, did a walk through and helped me work a couple bible verses into the ceremony. I'm so thankful that he was a part of our BIG day!

Reverend Steve Torrence made our ceremony more than I could have ever dreamed of. He only knew us for a few hours, as we were there for our destination wedding; however he managed to learn our personalities and perform the perfect service tailored specifically for us. He made us laugh, he made us tear up - he made the ceremony perfect for us. We had one side Catholic and the other side Lutheran so he included the perfect amount of everything to keep both sides happy. He truly made our ceremony perfect... I cannot recommend him highly enough!

Steve was amazing.

Steve understood what we were looking for and made the ceremony run smoothly. He added bits of humor, talked to us directly at times, held a perfect rehearsal and made the best of a funny situation.

During our outdoor ceremony, steve was being pooped on my birds but kept going. It is now a joke around our house "ashley, don't look up" because Steve kept saying it so I would freak out about the birds.

He spoke quickly enough that the reception didn't seem too long but slowly enough that we could understand him. He has done many wedding and is very good at them.

I would highly recommend Steve.

Our wedding planner recommended Rev. Steve Torrence to officiate our wedding over labor day weekend. Rev. Steve made time a few days prior to sit down with us to discuss the ceremony. Rev. Steve was open to any ideas we had, but came prepared with his own suggestions. The day of the wedding he did a great job. We got married on the beach so when a gang of jet skies came by Steve handled it well. He added just the right amount of humor to the ceremony. I would highly recommend Rev. Steve if you are getting married in Key West.

Steve was a wonderful officiant. I needed a Christian feel for my ceremony on the beach and he gave us a beautiful one. He was very professional, on time and a sweetheart! I highly recommend him, he is the best in key west!

We couldn't have asked for a better officiant. Although we were not getting married in a church, we wanted a traditional ceremony. Rev. Steve provided a beautiful ceremony which fit the bill. Neither of us were particularly psyched to stand in front of 100 people and have them watch us be deeply personal, but he made the entire experience much more comfortable. And he is really a genuinely funny guy, so the planning aspect is that much more enjoyable. While we chose a more traditional ceremony, he also offers a variety of services.

Steve was exactly what we needed!!! Steve was professional, made us feel comfortable and had a great sense of humor to help us out through the stress and our nerves during the rehearsal and wedding! We provided Steve with our vows and he read through them as if he had made them himself - perfectly! He also gave us great tips during the rehearsal of things that we would have never thought of like the way to put the wedding rings on so the photographer could get a good shot...that is only one example of the much needed suggestions that he gave us. During the wedding he again reminded us to take it easy, slow down, etc. etc (all under his breath of course, no one else could hear him!). I really can't imagine having anyone else as our officiant for our ceremony. If you want to have someone who is has a big heard, is kind, skilled, and you feel like you have known for a lifetime, than Steve is perfect for your wedding - I really can't recommend him enough, you won't go wrong with choosing him!

Thank you Steve for making our day as spiritual and as can be on the beach. In the beginning of my planning process I was worried that a wedding on the beach would take away from tradition but you so elegantly and creatively integrated the cultural and spiritual aspect to exactly what I dreamed of having on the most important occasions in my life. Thank you for making it all a reality for my husband and I. We can't stop being told by friends and family that our wedding was a true unforgettable experience for them.

Steve was AMAZING!!! We were so happy we picked him for our officiant. He works with your schedule, he offers so many different ceremony options until you find one that suits what you are looking for. At our rehearsal he even gives you wardrobe options to what he should wear for your wedding. He was so sweet and nice. He was awesome and our ceremony was perfect.

Steve was great- really made us feel comfortable and in safe hands! We only met him a few days before the wedding but he took the time to find out more about us and get the wording right for us. Really nice guy and I couldn't recommend him enough!

Rev Torrence was amazing! My husband was given ONE job for our special day and that was find someone to perform the actual ceremony. He did his 'homework', made phone calls, went on web sites and called me and said he "found the guy".

Steve did an outstanding job! He created the most perfect ceremony for us - it was exactly what we wanted. He took the time to meet with us a few days prior to review everything and just get to know us a bit. We were very confident with him and our decision.

To us, the ceremony was the most important part of our day. Rev Torrence did exactly what we asked for, in the time frame we needed and knocked it out of the park. Our families are still raving about what an amazing ceremony we had & it truly was. THANK YOU Rev Steve Torrence!!!!

Reverend Steve was great! My husband and I enjoyed his sense of humor. He was flexible in all of our choices for the ceremony. Our ceremony went smooth and we felt at ease with him.
