I cannot say enough wonderful things about our officiant for our wedding 2 weeks ago. From the very beginning, he worked with us throughout the entire year to make sure our ceremony felt personal, meaningful, and exactly like us. He was patient, kind, responsive, and truly cared about bringing my vision to life.
On our wedding day, he helped make our ceremony everything I dreamed it would be. It felt beautiful, heartfelt, and so special. He created such a calm and meaningful presence, and we received so many compliments on how lovely the ceremony was.
I am so grateful for all of the time, effort, and care he put into making our day perfect. He truly helped make my dream come true, and I would recommend him to anyone looking for an officiant who is thoughtful, reliable, and genuinely invested in making your wedding ceremony unforgettable. 10/100000 recommend!!! -

Reverend Michael Whalen was a fantastic fit for our Jersey Shore wedding. We met with him over a zoom call over a year prior to the wedding when we were at our most stressed and he immediately calmed us down with his knowledge and experience. He made the whole affair extremely east, which is exactly what we needed. Well worth the money, Michael Whalen was a 10 out of 10 and we would recommend him to any of our friends and family. -

We can’t recommend Rev. Michael Whalen enough. He was professional, warm, and truly took the time to get to know us. He created a customized ceremony that felt personal and meaningful, with the perfect touch of humor, so many guests told us how much they loved him.
He made the whole process easy and stress-free, and even nailed the little details (including smoothly jumping out of the way for our first kiss so the moment, and photos, were perfect). We’re so grateful he was part of our day. We would recommend him to any future couple considering him!

Highly Recommend Michael!
We cannot say enough great things about Michael! From start to finish, he was extremely organized and always responded promptly to our emails, which made the entire process so easy and stress-free. He wrote our entire ceremony and customized it perfectly to reflect our story and what we wanted to say, even providing different options for certain portions so we could truly make it our own.
On top of that, Michael handled all of the marriage license details with the town after the wedding. All we had to do was pick it up when we got back from our honeymoon. That level of care and professionalism meant so much to us. Truly stress free!
We are so glad we chose Michael as our officiant. He was truly one of the best vendors we had on our wedding day, and we would recommend him without hesitation! -

My husband and I are so happy we chose Rev. Whalen as our officiant. After our first phone call, we both knew he was the perfect person to officiate and celebrate our wedding. Our experience with Reverend Michael was a 12/10. His professionalism is off the charts and the way he was able to portray my husband and Is relationship felt as though we knew him for years. Mike Whalen is the best!!
Mike made the whole process so easy!! We got married at The English Manor on 10/8/2023 and the whole process leading up to, the work needed day-of, and processing paperwork afterward was a breeze with Mike. He knew exactly what we were looking for when we couldn’t quite voice it ourselves, was full of suggestions when we were looking for readings outside the norm, and he made us feel very calm during the actual ceremony. We didn’t need him to attend the rehearsal and he was still flawless! My family is hard to please and they were complimenting Mike all around. I would recommend him over and over again. -

Rev. Mike Whalen was one of several officiants recommended by our venue. We spoke to 3 other officiants but immediately knew we wanted Rev. Mike as soon as we had our initial call with him. He was so personable and down to earth and took the time to get to know us as a couple and our story. Within a couple of days, he sent us a draft of his proposed ceremony, offered suggestions and encouraged us to make any changes that would make the ceremony more reflective of us. He was so kind as to even say a few words and sentences in Spanish and Arabic so that all our guests felt like a part of the ceremony. When we met Rev. Mike in person on our wedding day, he gave us a hug and even asked to meet our parents to offer his genuine congratulations. All our guests were really complimentary of the ceremony. Rev Michael Whalen was the perfect addition to our wedding. We saw him officiate our friends wedding and knew we had to reach out to him for our wedding. He was very professional and responsive to all our questions. Our ceremony was short and sweet which was exactly what we wanted. He had many layout options for us to choose from for our ceremony and made whatever adjustments we had asked of him.
Rev Michael Whalen was leaving for a vacation the morning after our wedding super early in the morning, and not for one second did I get nervous he wasn't going to show or provide all the necessary documents we needed.

My husband and I chose Rev. Michael because he truly took the time to get to know us even before he knew we would hire him for our wedding. Since my husband and I are not religious and didn’t have a long time relationship with a priest or pastor, it was important to find someone who could tell our story. We interviewed several people and Rev. Michael just felt right. It didn’t hurt that he was a golfer as we are avid golfers. And our intuition was right! As soon as we hired him it was just days when we received our first draft of our ceremony. And what an amazing 1st draft! It was so good that it became our final draft! He is an amazing writer and really took the time to create a beautiful ceremony for us to include various readings to choose from, vow samples and the idea of a beautiful rose tribute to my mom which was a classy touch. Through the whole process Rev. Michael was there guiding us and any questions I had he got back to me in less than 24 hours and most times within hours. Rev. Michael is a true class act! I highly recommend him! -

Rev. Michael Whalen is a true gentleman and class act! From our first meeting, we absolutely felt confident in our decision to be married by this amazing man!! He worked with us to customize the entire ceremony, incorporating our love story, personalities and family traditions. He took extra time to coordinate adding details and performed a Greek crowning ceremony which meant the world to us. And did I mention he is witty?? He added the perfect touches of humor which put a smile on everyone’s face.

Rev. Michael Whalen was the first (and only) officiant that we had looked at and met with before hiring one. After our first meeting we knew that he would be the right one to perform our ceremony because of how kind and genuine he was (on top of how many years of experience and how he laid out the ceremony). We absolutely knew we made the right choice in hiring Rev. Whalen when so many of our vendors as well as people who work in the vital statics office of Spring Lake heights and wall township said so many good things about him.
Rev. Whalen was extremely attentive to any emails that we sent with questions or concerns with our ceremony and listened to all of our needs. We met Rev. Whalen in person just 20 minutes before our ceremony and we felt as if we had known him for years thats how comfortable we felt with him. He performed the most beautiful ceremony with the most happy but calming voice (something we both needed with all of our emotions we had). Rev. Whalen also took care of any of the paperwork needed to be sent to the township with no problems at all.
If you are in search for an officiant of your wedding (regardless of religious affiliation) I highly suggest taking a look at Rev Whalen for your wedding because you will not be disappointed! -

Reverend Whalen married my husband (!!!!) and I yesterday, and we had a perfect experience. From the very start he was responsive, professional, warm, and collaborative. After an initial call, he sent us a draft of his remarks and added special touches to make them personalized to us and our love story. He gave us a variety of options to include, including a few things we never considered, which was very helpful. It was easy to get to a perfect final version, which he delivered impeccably on the big day. He also looked and sounded the part, which is very important for an officiant! He arrived in a very dapper suit and has a strong and pleasant speaking voice.
Our guests kept asking us where we found him (thanks, WeddingWire!) and said he's one of the best officiants they've ever experienced. The bride and groom concur! We couldn't recommend him more, so stop your search now!! -

When I was first looked into officiants during my wedding planning process, I interviewed 3 officiants before I contacted Rev. Whalen. Upon having our first meeting, I knew I wanted Rev. Whalen to officiate my wedding. He was a great communicator from day one. He would get back to me within hours, if not minutes. I changed my ceremony plan on him about 4 times before our wedding day and he didn't seem to mind once. On the day of our wedding, he was on time and explained the ceremony process to me. He even asked for clarification on how to pronounce some names so that he did not mess them up during the ceremony. Rev. Whalen made the ceremony quick and enjoyable. After the wedding, we received a call from the township that our marriage certificate was never received. I immediately reached out to Rev. Whalen and he called the township immediately and they confirmed there was an error on their end and they did in fact receive it. Rev. Whalen made the whole process a breeze and stress free. When searching for an officiant we were unsure about what we wanted. Reverend Whalen was highly recommended to us and we could not be more satisfied! From the first zoom call till the day of our wedding, we always felt as ease and he really listened to our requests. Rev. Whalen married us in August in a small backyard wedding, and we are so pleased he was part of our special day! After a brief 15-minute FaceTime call, he asked key questions about our relationship to write a lovely ceremony draft, which he sent back very quickly following our initial conversation. Michael was a dream come true. From the very first conversation me and my husband had with Michael, I knew he would be the one officiating our wedding. He made us feel comfortable and really listened to what we wanted from him. He kept in contact, always replying very quick whenever I would email him. He was always professional. Intimate and romantic ceremony
Michael did an amazing job leading our wedding ceremony on July 2020. We hired him approximately a month before and he turned it around with no issues. The ceremony was so intimate and romantic just as we had hoped. Family and friends continue to compliment us on how great the ceremony turned out. They thought Michael knew us both for a long time! Warm, loving and intimate ceremony
The Reverend is calm, funny and cool! He was so flexible with the layout of the ceremony and worked with us in really designing a custom ceremony that reflected us as a couple. When we were up there, it was very calming to have Rev. Whalen there with us. He can speak somewhat quietly though, so if you have older folks at your wedding, give him a microphone. Highly recommend working with him! -

We were SO lucky to find Michael!!! He was exactly what my husband and I were looking for in an officiant. The entire experience from start to finish was an absolute pleasure. He was attentive, friendly, understanding of our wants, and relieved so much stress from our minds!! Our ceremony was perfect with Michael. He wrote out an EXTREMELY thoughtful (and accurate) perspective of our love story, and not only did he have all of our guests tearing up, but he had us all laughing as well!!!
