We honestly don’t even know where to begin. This past year has been one of the hardest of our lives, and when we found Rev. Marsha Thomas, we had no idea just how much of a blessing she would turn out to be. She was, in every sense, a Godsend.
As a queer couple navigating a Christian wedding and doing so without all of our family present, finding someone who would see us, honor us, and celebrate us for exactly who we are was deeply important. From the very first conversation, she was everything we had hoped for and more: patient, compassionate, professional, and truly guided by love and faith.
She crafted a ceremony that was not only personal and meaningful but sacred in every sense of the word. Every word she spoke felt intentional and full of grace. She made us feel safe, celebrated, and at peace, which is something we will cherish forever.
She was responsive, organized, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. But beyond all that, it’s her warmth, authenticity, and heart that set her apart.
If you’re looking for an officiant who will meet you exactly where you are, honor your love story, and make your ceremony something you’ll remember for a lifetime, look no further. We can’t recommend her highly enough. She truly was an answer to our prayers. ❤️ -

From the moment we did a video consult, we knew that Marsha Thomas was the perfect officiant for us. She asked all the right questions to make sure the wedding was tailored to our needs and personalities. She also was well prepared with everything we needed to know about the process and gave us example scripts to get us started, knowing that this experience was new for us. We didn't even need her to be at rehearsal because she gave us everything we needed beforehand. During the wedding, she was sweet, professional, and funny! It was like she was a part of our family. She fit right in! And after the wedding she was the ultimate professional, making sure our marriage license was filed and sending us proof. Her price was very reasonable for the services she provided. From beginning to end, we knew that we were in good hands. You will not go wrong with having Marsha Thomas as your officiant! -

Honestly from the first moment my wife and I met Rev. Marsha over zoom we knew that there was no other choice. She helped us craft the wedding ceremony of our dreams and combine our various customs into a cohesive and beautiful ceremony. Our guests never knew that the first time we met Rev. Marsha in person was the day of the ceremony because she was so fantastic to work with, she even was helping us tweak our ceremony up to the day of the wedding. Overall, I cannot say enough about Rev. Marsha. If you are considering having her be your officiant, just meet with her and you will never look back. -

We were a little late to the game in booking an officiant for our wedding. My fiance (now wife) and I spent months procrastinating with the idea that we might have a friend do it, but we weren’t totally sure which one and how we wanted our ceremony to look like. We knew we wanted a secular ceremony that was still meaningful to us and our guests, but other than that, we it was three months out to our wedding date and were at a loss.
We were blessed to find Marsha via the WeddingWire. We reached out online and this led us to a zoom call where she introduced herself, got to know us as people, and then reviewed her services and costs up front and with full transparency, which we greatly appreciated. She made us feel at ease and guided us through how the process would work, which included a questionnaire she would send us, a couple of zoom calls, and a drafting process where we narrowed down across multiple available options for different parts of the ceremony.
Our favorite part of Marsha’s services was the “love story” she helped us craft via the aforementioned questionnaire. This helped us document our relationship in a truly special way, then splice and dice different aspects and anecdotes for sharing wider with our friends and family. Multiple people approached us after the fact and remarked that this aspect of the ceremony made for a truly special event and one of the best they had attended (which is saying something, considering how many weddings folks have attended this year, 2022!).
Overall, we are very happy with how Marsha helped us create a special wedding ceremony for our guests and ourselves. We will be saving our ceremony document, especially the love story, to cherish for the rest of our lives. -

Marsha Thomas was very professional and efficient. She met all of our needs and more. Planning this wedding I was very stressed. Marsha made that stress level go down tremendously. A great officiant!
We are very glad Rev. Marsha was able to officiate our wedding! She was very accommodating, as our ceremony date changed several times due to a covid delay. She always responded in a timely manner and gave us great advice for writing our vows. She was even flexible with all the day-of snafus. Her presence and guidance were wonderful! -

She sends a script of the full ceremony which was so helpful! We received so many compliments on how beautiful our ceremony was and we couldn’t have done it without her! I would highly HIGHLY recommend you at least give her a call or email her if you are looking for an officiant, I don’t think there is anyone who could have done a better job or made us as happy and stress free as she did.

Since we live in DC and we we're having our wedding in Chicago, we had to plan everything over the phone and via e-mail with Rev. Marsha. She was a fantastic coach and professional. She guided us, eased our concerns and helped us craft the perfect ceremony and vows. On the day of the wedding, she delivered and then some! We had a beautiful wedding ceremony and two years later (we just hit our 2nd Anniversary on 6/18/2018), we are still very grateful to the Rev. She is truly amazing!

Marsha is responsive, professional, friendly, and did such an excellent job officiating our wedding that several guests asked us how we found her! From the first meeting we had with Rev. Marsha at a coffee shop to discuss details of the wedding, Rev. Marsha felt like family. She was very flexible with us in helping us decide on the final script for our wedding and she gives you the full text of what she will say from beginning to end of your wedding ceremony so that there are no surprises on the big day. I was initially so nervous about booking an officiant that we didn't know but it worked out so well and I cannot imagine a better officiant for our day than Rev. Marsha. I always imagined that one of the pastors from my and my new husband's church where we met would officiate our wedding but with our wedding being clear across the country (we had just moved to Indianapolis) it became less feasible for us to use our home pastor. Literally from the first visit with Rev. Marsha I knew that we would have nothing to worry about on our wedding day and that not having our home pastor officiate our wedding was no longer a big deal. If you're not religious, it doesn't matter! Rev. Marsha has a wealth of experience in officiating weddings and customizes the ceremony to fit your needs. Seriously, look no further for your officiant. I would HIGHLY recommend Rev. Marsha to everyone! -

Her attention to detail, flexibility and professionalism were second to none. My husband and I knew from our first meeting, that Rev. Thomas was "The One" (which is saying ALOT because my hubby never feels strongly on initial impressions). She was always very quick to answer ANY questions or comments that I had leading up to, and on the big day, which is SO important when wedding planning. I even recieved compliments from my friends and family regarding just how sweet and kind she was to the guest. Her warm spirit, and personality was a true asset to our wedding day. I love the fact that she was open and receptive to any suggestions we had, and even contacted us the day AFTER the wedding when my husband and I had questions about the wedding license. I would hands down recommmend Rev. Thomas for your event. She was by far the BEST and easiest vendor to work with. Thank you Rev. Thomas for making our day so special and beautiful! -

From the beginning, she was willing to answer all of our questions and was extremely prompt and responsive. She created a beautiful ceremony for our wedding. She was able to take our vision for our perfect day and truly perfect it and make it one to remember! We had phone conversations as well as a face-to-face meeting before our big day to make sure that everything was just the way we wanted to be. This process had been extremely stress free - I had no doubt that Rev. Marsha would leave us anything else but satisfied - and boy, was that an understatement. Jennika Sent on 10/04/2012At the last minute, our family pastor was unable to officiate our wedding! We were in a panic when my planner & I scoured the internet for suitable alternatives. When I found WeddingsThatInspire.com, I was immediately encouraged. The emphasis on getting to know the couple in order to create a personalized service was exactly what we were looking for!
Prior to our first meeting, Reverend Marsha Thomas provided a list of all the elements commonly used in weddings. Her materials made it easy to customize our ceremony by first selecting the elements we wanted, then later deciding exactly how/when to incorporate each element. For example, we knew we wanted to incorporate our Mothers in some way and Marsha recommended the rose ceremony. When unexpectedly presented with roses, both Moms were brought to tears and touched by the gesture.
When we met in person, Marsha was punctual, friendly and professional. We felt comfortable with her demeanor (she even played with our overly friendly pup) and her abilities, as she described various options we hand't even thought of. She reassured us that we had plenty of time to create a specialized ceremony that reflected us as a couple and she delivered on her promise!
On the day of the event, when we forgot to bring the certificate to the ceremony, Marsha was extremely flexible and professional. She delivered flawlessly and several guests complimented the unique ceremony.
Overall, we were pleased with our ceremony and we would highly recommend Reverend Thomas!
