English and Spanish ceremony

My fiance and I couldn't chose a better officiant for our wedding, she payed attention to every detail of the ceremony and guided us really well, since we didn't know the process and what to do. We chose her, because she seemed like someone with charisma, honest, easy going and responsible and we weren't wrong.
We booked Luisa a couple of weeks before the wedding, thank God she was available, then we decided to change the date of our wedding to 1 day before and she was still willing to perform the ceremony. Because of the time and our schedule, it wasn't possible to meet in person, so she arranged a video call to get to know us better and write a custom ceremony in English and Spanish.
The day of the ceremony we forgot to bring the marriage license!!! We all thought there'll be no wedding that day, so my now brother in law went to pick the license up 1 hour away from where the ceremony was, and Luisa was really, really flexible with us, and she waited for the marriage license, we're really thankful with her for helping us out and not just deciding to cancel the ceremony.
The ceremony was beautiful, I was crying all the time and she helped me to breathe and calm down, she made everyone to feel included, since the ceremony was bilingual. I still can't believe how emotional and magical that ceremony was.
If you are looking for an officiant for your wedding, I can't think of a better recommendation than Luisa.

Wedding ceremony

Luisa saved my life! My husband and I were planning on getting married at the marriage bureau at the city clerk's office, but realized 3 days before that it would be closed due to veteran's day. In a panic, I contacted about 20 officiants looking for someone who could marry us, as we had family coming in and we had to get married that day. Many wanted me to pay upwards of 500 dollars, some wanted me to travel somewhere that would be more convenient for them, and almost none actually listened when I said what I wanted. Luisa was very responsive, flexible, and enthusiastic! She calmed my nerves and made my wedding really special. Thanks Luisa!

Deanna and I had Luisa officiate our wedding ceremony at Riverside Church in Manhattan on 9/23/17. It was a beautiful ceremony, and one of the most beautiful parts was Luisa! From the first meeting onward, Luisa was very responsive, and really tried to get to know us. The first time we met, Luisa and her wife sat down with us and asked us questions about ourselves, our families, our relationship, and what was important to us in our ceremony. They shared their own stories and advice, and I can honestly say we had a great time talking and sharing with them as people. We were able to personalize our ceremony to really feel like our own, with Luisa sending us fully fledged outlines of what our ceremony would include for us to edit and make notes on as we saw fit. In our case, we had two of our friends perform a song, incorporated an Irish hand-fasting, and invited five of our closest friends to share quotes/readings/stories etc., all within the confines of a 30 minute Christian wedding ceremony. Luisa never missed a beat and it all went off without a hitch. Riverside Church set us up with Luisa, and we never paid her directly for her services, so I can't speak on pricing; but I have no reservations in saying that if you book Luisa, your decision will be worth every penny!

Loved Luisa - she is so calm and enthusiastic. She also made sure we were happy with every word of the program - helping us craft a few versions until we hit on the one we liked the best. Rev. Luisa is the BEST!! It was like love at first sight. Her energy is so positive. She is such kind and loving person. Such a professional. I honestly felt an immediate connection with her and her assistant Deidre.
She answered all of my questions. She fulfilled her duty as an officiant for our wedding. We had a unity sand ceremony which was absolutely beautiful & touching. My husband and I are extremely grateful to have had her be the one to marry us.

Rev. Porrata was kind and accommodating during every part of the process. There was no time during the preparation when I felt unsure of her capabilities. She delivered our service in both English and Spanish, included personalized writing, and worked with us and the church every step of the way to make sure our special day was perfect.

Luisa is a kind, wonderful person and was very concerned with getting the details of our ceremony just right. She'll have you fill out a questionnaire to better get to know you, and send you a draft ceremony, which you are welcome to edit and send back to her. She is highly recommended!

My now-husband and I were matched with Rev. Porrata by the Riverside Church, and we could not be more thrilled that she was the one to marry us. During our first meeting with Luisa, she really got to know us and we got to know her as well. We were immediately connected to her through her warm welcome and smiles. She provided us with a lovely ceremony, in both English and Spanish, and helped us to personalize our ceremony; we're honored to have had her as our Officiant on out 5/6/17 wedding! Luisa was such a kind, loving, helpful person who made our ceremony so magical. Our wedding was in Central Park in 90 degrees and Luisa not once let the weather be a concern. Luisa helped me speak my vows in Spanish to my husband, Luisa did such a perfect Ceremony and we are very excited to do our part two ceremony with her. If you're looking for that person who has that positive energy and good vibes--she is it. We skyped to talk over the event and iron any wrinkles out. She always asked our approval in the moves she made, she was prompt on any phone call, email, she adjusted according to our request, she's just awesome. She kept me calm when the day came and spoke beautifully and naturally to our family and friends, she meshed so well that by the end of everything she felt like a member of my family--that's how familiar her spirit became.

Reverend Luisa was FANTASTIC!! Originally we were concerned with finding a bilingual officiant, but she surpassed all our expectations. She was always open to the ideas and modifications which we requested to be put into the ceremony. Prior to the event she was emphatic on meeting with us at least over the phone and getting to know us and our backgrounds. Her energy and style really came off during the ceremony and set the tone perfectly for the rest of the day. We cannot say enough about our feelings for the Reverend!!!

The best wedding two brides could hope for!

Rev. Luisa was so wonderful to us as we traveled to NYC so that we could legally marry. (NC does not allow same-sex marriage.) We only found her a couple of weeks before our scheduled trip, and she worked closely with us to tailor our wedding exactly to our wishes. Her suggestions and resources were so helpful as we decided how we wanted our service to be.

Rev. Luisa was very professional in contacting us when she said she would, communicating promptly via email, and arriving at the location early. These things are VERY important to me. She was sweet, loving, and so kind as she helped us make a wonderful memory of our wedding in New York City. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Excellent & Caring Ceremony Officiant!

From the moment my husband and I met Luisa, we felt comfortable, at ease and knew we would love having her as our officiant and we did! She's a warm, caring person who helped us create a beautiful wedding ceremony. She's very easy to communicate with and responds promptly to emails/phone calls etc. She understood the type of ceremony we wanted and helped create beautiful wedding vows in English and Spanish, a very smooth transition. With only two months to plan our weeding, finding the right person to officiate the ceremony was challenging. We had the good fortune to count with the kindness, diligence and expertise of Rev. Luisa Porrata. She promptly shared with us a draft of the ceremony, which was completely unexpected, and she really valued our input. She gave us thoughtful suggestions and seamlessly incorporated our requests into both versions of the ceremony in English and Spanish. She was very interested in learning about us as individuals and as a couple. Even though we had just met, we felt confident about her commitment to create a unique, special blessing for our marriage. I had the honor of planning Alexa and Chase's wedding and unfortunately, the officiant we originally had enlisted to perform their ceremony had a family emergency. With only a few hours notice, Rev. Luisa willingly stepped in to create and deliver a personalized and heartfelt ceremony. We were granting a wish through Wish Upon a Wedding because the groom was very ill, so the words chosen were particularly important and the situation required a heighten sensitivity to the circumstances. With almost no time to prep, very little direction and having not met the couple, Rev. Luisa created a space for the couple to share their story comfortably in their own words, enabling them to create a memory that was captured and will be treasured forever.

It was a great day & Luisa was great. Only minor constructive criticism I would provide relates to the Church official who managed the Facilities/event - understand that she had timelines to meet, but was a little pushy after the wedding and made the signing etc seemed rushed. The requirement to meet timelines might be best served if Luisha took the bride and groom directly to the table for signing prior to the couple engaging with guests - but this was a minor thing - thanks Luisa for being part of a great day

THE BEST!!!

We had the great honor and privilege of working with Luisa. She, accompanied by the Rabbi, were the perfect duo for our inter-religious wedding. Luisa is such a breath of fresh air. She is understanding, compassionate, thoughtful and intuitive. We wanted to achieve specific goals for our ceremony. Luisa was never deterred. She took the challenge head on, was so open minded and always had great suggestions to make. Most of these reviews can be hard to rely on. I am speaking the truth. Luisa is a gem and would be an asset to any ceremony.

Luisa was warm, accommodating, and intuitive to our needs and style. Planning the official ceremony become the easiest aspect of the wedding. She had great ideas and worked well to incorporate bilingual facets into our event.

Rev. Luisa was the officiant for our wedding, we live in LA but we got married in NY, so all the prep was done online, which she was open to.

We really enjoyed the ceremony, she gave us different ideas and worked with us on our vision. She is bilingual English/Spanish which was perfect for us. Rev. Luisa is very professional and easy to work with.
