Welcome Experience

Kate Adamson was truly invaluable to our elopement experience. Her impeccable communication set the tone right from the start. Our initial consultation, which lasted nearly an hour, and an in-person meeting over dinner allowed us to collaborate on our ceremony together. Despite being stormed out on our first date, she reassured us that everything would be fine and that she would get us married! She was extremely flexible and accommodating, probably past the point of her responsibility to us. What set Kate apart was not just her professionalism, but the genuine pride she took in curating a ceremony that resonated with us. Her thoughtful suggestions, coupled with a host of resources including example prayers, readings, and distinctive unity ceremonies became integral parts of our special day. Her commitment was evident through the time and effort she invested in our ceremony. She created the most perfect ceremony that was everything we envisioned and hoped for. For anyone seeking an officiant who seamlessly blends professionalism, communication, and genuine passion for their work, Kate is the right choice. We are so thankful for the mark she left on our wedding day. -

We are so glad that we hired Rev. Kate for our ceremony. Going into the process, our two requirements were to 1) have a secular ceremony and 2) to have someone speak about us with familiarity and not feel like they are reading about us from an info sheet. Rev. Kate easily fit both of these points.
From our initial phone conversation, it was clear that Rev. Kate was thoughtful, insightful, and passionate about creating the perfect, personalized wedding ceremony. She offered a wide selection of vows to choose from and really guided us through forming our ceremony vision. It was the perfect length and the perfect balance between philosophical and sentimental. We received so many compliments about her delivery and script. Truly could not have asked for anything more! -

Kate is great!
Kate was the perfect officiant for our small wedding ceremony on the Blue Ridge Parkway. We only contacted her about a month before the ceremony, but she was super responsive and flexible in helping us plan and make it all happen. The resources she provided helped us write the vows and create the ceremony that we both wanted, and her experience really showed through. We would recommend her to anyone looking for an officiant. -

Kate was amazing. Her enthusiasm was contagious. She put us at ease, and just her joyous personality reminded us what the day was really about. It is evident that she truly cares and loves her work. We were working with our prior officiant for several months, when there was a COVID situation 48-hours before our wedding. We had a truly wonderful experience in planning a very customized ceremony with our prior officiant, but made the tough call to partner with her recommended colleague, Reverend Kate, last minute due to health concerns.
We were blown away by Kate's generosity, warm spirit, and professionalism. We are so grateful she joined us the next day for our rehearsal, and made accommodations to officiate our early afternoon ceremony with just 24-hours notice (while she already had another wedding later in the day). She was prepared, organized, and made the entire experience completely seamless. Kate made a significant effort to get to know us and our families in the short time frame, and made us feel so calm. That's the best way to describe Reverend Kate - she has a calming presence and a warmth about her that made us feel celebrated, and our ceremony feel sacred and special to us. THANK YOU, Kate. We will forever cherish the beautiful ceremony you and our prior officiant helped us create and experience. -

Rev Kate is wonderful! My husband and I were looking for a nondenominational service for our small outdoor wedding. We contacted Rev Kate fairly close to our wedding date upon the highly praised referral from another officiant who was unavailable for our date, and she did not disappoint. Despite the fact that we did not have a lot of time to spend with Rev Kate prior to our ceremony, she was still able to perform a lovely service. She has a wonderful presentation and delivery. I had no idea what to request or suggest regarding the itinerary for the service, but Rev Kate had many sample templates to choose from and walked us through it making it feel like a breeze. I would highly recommend Rev Kate as an officiant! -

Kate was organized, punctual, and caring in all of our interactions. Excellent communication. From the first phone call we felt like we had known her for years. The questionnaires and paperwork she uses to outline your ceremony are well worth the effort. She used the information and created a beautiful ceremony for us filled with love, laughter, and even a little Harry Potter reference. By the end of this experience we felt like she was part of the family. Kate was also adaptable to our crazy weather situation. Tropical Storm Ophelia visited our wedding day, and Kate greeted us with a big warm smile and a hug.

I highly recommend Kate as your officiant. She was absolutely wonderful. She officiated my brother’s wedding in 2019 and I remembered loving how personal their ceremony was to them. When I was on the search for my own wedding I kept looking and looking and couldn’t find exactly what I was looking for until I remembered Kate. She is so easy to communicate with and you can tell she truly cares. She was so easy to meet with and I am so pleased with how thoughtful our ceremony was. She created the perfect ceremony for us and it was so personal to our love story. I was very impressed with the entire process we had with Kate. -

When we hired Rev. Kate we knew we wanted a nonreligious ceremony but had no idea where to start. She walked us through our options and learned about us to truly design a ceremony that felt meaningful and authentic. The ceremony was everything we wanted and more. Rev. Kate helped calm our nerves before the wedding, on the wedding day and during the ceremony. She has a calming presence that helped us take in the wedding day as much as possible. I cannot imagine our day without her help. There is nothing I would change about the ceremony. I highly highly recommend hiring Rev. Kate. -

The BEST choice for our wedding!
Kate was the absolute best choice we could have made for a wedding officiant! We were traveling in from out of town, and Kate was happy to get to know the two of us over the phone beforehand. She got to know our story, sent us adorable questionnaires to fill out about each other, and helped us to curate readings to make our ceremony perfect for us. We didn’t get to meet her in person until the day of the wedding, and even then she felt like an old friend! Plus, Kate was willing to hike a mountain with us to perform our ceremony! Her words to us and our families were so clearly filled with love, passion, and experience. Everything she said was thoughtful… we were crying by the first couple lines! She clearly listened to our vows as we said them too because she was able to incorporate pieces of them into her closing remarks, which felt so personal and special. After the ceremony, Kate was quick to send in our marriage license, as well as an informative email to let us know what the next steps would be. Overall, Kate is an amazing person who loves her work, which makes her the perfect choice for anyone considering her services! -

Kate is as good as it gets! My wife and I got married in a non-traditional ceremony with a small group of our family. The first time we contacted Kate, we made an immediate connection with her over the phone. We then set up an in-person meeting to discuss the ceremony with her. When we met Kate in person we both felt like we'd known her for years. She is so easy to talk to and accommodating. She had great suggestions for our ceremony and can handle any sort of scenario you can imagine with ease. Our level of comfort with her was off the charts! The morning of our ceremony (we got married at 8am), Kate was there early to go over everything with us. When the time came to do it for real, it could not have gone more perfectly! On a personal note, Kate is an amazing human being. She absolutely radiates positive energy, kindness and love. My wife and I both now consider her a close, personal friend and hope to continue our relationship with her for many years to come! Thank you so much Kate, for being part of our wedding and making it so special to both of us! -

The Best Officiant!
Rev Kate was such a pleasure to work with! She has a great personality, calm demeanor, and is very adaptable. My husband and I changed our wedding date and went from an elopement to a small wedding. Kate was super understanding and adjusted the ceremony perfectly. Our ceremony was absolute perfection and we can not thank Rev Kate enough! -

When I started looking for an officiant for our wedding, the first think I noticed on Rev. Kate's photos is the SMILES. I knew right away, that's the ceremony I wanted and exactly what we got.
Rev. Kate really put effort into getting to know us as a couple. We had a phone conversation, met in person, and loved filling out a questionaire. She really challenged us to express our deep thougths and feelings for another. All this made our ceremony really personal to us. Our wedding was a bit untraditional (25 guests, shipping container bar at a brewery). Kate was openmided and helped come up with unique ideas.
Fast forward to our wedding, Kate showed up early to talk us through the ceremony. Our vows incoporated our family, guests, and even my dog. And as I wanted it, it was full of big smiles and laughs.

Kate was absolutely incredible as Celebrant for our tiny but magical mountain-top ceremony! Not only did she agree to hike to the top of a Stoney Man in Shenandoah National Park at dawn with us, but she smiled the whole way through the surprise snow. We felt like we had known Kate for years as we walked up the mountain together. She made us very comfortable throughout and joked around with us as we shivered through the cold. Thankyou Kate for making this moment something we'll never forget.

We chose Reverend Kate for our December 2022 wedding. Our ceremony was everything we wanted: tailored to us, intimate, and accommodating of our new blended family! Our ceremony was truly our favorite part of our wedding. I cannot recommend Reverend Kate enough.
