Carolyn was amazing!!! She was very organized and helped us organize our ceremony. She gave us so many ideas for different things to include and made the process as easy as possible! She had a serious, yet fun tone at the ceremony which put all of the guests (and us!) at ease. I highly recommend Carolyn!

Carolyn made the entire process of creating a wedding ceremony enjoyable, exciting, and meaningful. She was very open to any changes we wanted to make and embraced all the unique, non-traditional aspects of our ceremony. She took the time to get to know us and we felt completely comfortable talking with her through the entire process. We would not of pick anyone else to marry us! If you are looking for a very professional, personable, non-judgmental officiant, Carolyn is your lady!

Carolyn was a joy to work with. She was very flexible with our plans for the ceremony and accommodated some unique requests. She took time to get to know us as a couple and wrote a beautiful address to start the personalized ceremony we designed.

Reverend Carolyn Barkley truly was a pleasure to work with. From the very first meeting, we knew she was the right fit for us. Even when I would e-mail her while she was on vacation, she was always quick to respond to any questions I might have had. She continually worked with us and helped us create the perfect wedding ceremony.

Rev. Carolyn Barkley did an excellent job at our ceremony and also the planning before hand. She was great to work with and did a wonderful job at personalizing our wedding ceremony for us. We received so many good comments about our ceremony from our wedding guests. I would definitely recommend her for anyone seeking an officiant.

Carolyn was absolutely fantastic to work with! She personalized our ceremony to the two of us and was flexible when it came to including some "non-traditional" aspects into our ceremony. We appreciated that we could have a civil celebration without it being to stodgy or boring. Carolyn definitely helped everybody feel the love that we share and presented such a beautiful ceremony that everyone ended up in tears, including her! Her word choice and representation of our relationship, was 100% perfect and we could not have asked anyone better to officiate our wedding. She was always available via e-mail and was happy to talk if we needed to discuss any changes. We absolutely loved working with Carolyn and would recommend her to anyone who is looking to have words spoken from the heart! We are so lucky to have met her and had her be such an intricate part of our wedding celebration. Thank you Carolyn!

We met Carolyn when searching for an officiant for our wedding in Madison, Virginia. Right away, we knew we found who we wanted. She was extremely easy to work with and quick to respond to every inquiry up until the final minutes. There was nothing more we could have asked of her and would highly recommend her for any wedding!

Rev. Barkley is excellent. As the officiant for my wedding, she worked with my fiancé and I to understand our vision for our wedding ceremony and create a service that perfectly reflected it. Our ceremony was very personal, and uniquely represented us. Rev. Barkley was a pleasure to work with, and communicated with us regularly throughout the planning process. She is a true professional, and I would strongly recommend her to others.

Carolyn was fantastic! Everything went wonderfully and whenever we were stressed about any aspect of the ceremony, she put our minds at ease completely. I couldn't imagine our wedding going any better!

We loved working with Carolyn. She was always honest, caring, and extremely flexible. She went above and beyond the call of duty to guide us through the legal process and basic logistics, and made us feel at home during the whole process.

Reverend Barkley was always in touch when we needed her, and very flexible in meeting us for discussion of the schedule, script, and on the day of the wedding, helped us forget about the rain and concentrate on what was important: each other.

Carolyn's best quality is her flexibility and willingness to work. We thoroughly enjoyed the creative process behind our ceremony. We really had no idea what the ceremony should be or what details it should involve...Carolyn offered great suggestions that meshed with our personalities and worked with us to mold a very fun, memorable ceremony. We wouldn't change one moment! Additionally, she was kind, professional and patient throughout the whole process.

We contacted Carolyn for our wedding date due the wide range of wedding ceremony styles she provided. Even though she was out of town at a funeral she responded very promptly & said she'd get back with us when she returned. In a phone appointment to discuss our vision of our wedding day Carolyn was very receptive to our ideas & had TONS of great suggestions. We couldn't wait to meet her for coffee that weekend. In person she was all that we'd imagined & more - such a calming & happy spirit. She was the perfect match for us & we knew it so the moment we arrived home from coffee, we booked her for our date!!! Over the next couple months we kept in touch exchanging ideas... When she sent a copy of the ceremony we were in awe of her keen ability to include every little detail we asked for in such a perfectly flowing way. She was even excited about it :) At the ceremony rehearsal she did a great job of wrangling our 19 bridal party members... & the ceremony was absolutely perfect. No one could stop talking about it at the reception or even now, weeks later! Carolyn's talent, personality & professionalism truly made our wedding day the single best day of our lives :) We highly, highly recommend her to anyone.

Carolyn did an amazing job as an officiant in our wedding! She was a joy to work with, very flexible, patient, understanding and kind. As an interfaith minister, she is flexible in terms of the style of the wedding. She took our suggestions and combined her own approach to create the ceremony that was just perfect for us. She was a huge help at our rehersal, in terms of overall structure. She is very responsive, in terms of emails and calls, which was so helpful planning a wedding from out of town. Her rates were also very reasonable, especially for this area. I highly recommend her to anyone planning a wedding in the Charlottesville area, she did an excellent job!

Carolyn was wonderful. She took time to get to know us and to personalize the service, spending time with us before the wedding and getting to know our families during the rehearsal dinner. We even have great pictures during the ceremony of all 3 of us laughing together. We really appreciated her inter-faith background and openess to mixing traditional and modern elements into the ceremony. Highly recommended!

My husband & I got so overwhelmed in the planning process that we didn't start looking for an officiant until 2 wks before our wedding, crazy right! After reading amazing reviews on Rev. Carolyn Barkley, we decided to contact her & see if she was the right fit for us...and believe me when I say, she was the perfect fit. She responded to our email request immediately. Upon talking to her over the phone, my nerves were instantly put at ease. She explored all aspects of our relationship to create a custom ceremony. My husband & myself did not have a traditional wedding ceremony where we exchanged wedding rings, but instead Carolyn created a unique way to represent us becoming one. It was very important that we incorporated my husband's 8yr old daughter in the ceremony and Carolyn did a beautiful job in putting together a service that symbolized us becoming a new family. We orginally planned to have an outdoor wedding but mother nature did not allow us. We had many last minute changes to to accommodate the rain plan and Carolyn adapted to every change, never missing a beat. I cannot say enough kind words about Carolyn. Her ceremony didn't leave one dry eye. She did such an amazing & beautiful job that we will always & forever be grateful. Look no further & hire Rev. Carolyn Barkley for your wedding. One important thing in which i forgot to mention is that she is very reasonably priced.

We were so pleased by Carolyn's service to us. She weaved together a ceremony that really had beautiful personal touches that rang true of our feelings for each other and how we feel about marriage. Carolyn was enthusiastic and very accomadating. The ceremony had a natural flow and included all the things that were important to us...family, commitment, earth, nature and spirit. It was magical. We feel blessed we found such a sweet soul to marry us!

We renewed our vows on our 60th wedding anniversary. Our ceremony was insightfully written and delivered by Rev. Carolyn. The joyous occasion was heightened by her optimistic and delightful personality.

There are some people just meant to be in this profession; Carolyn is one of them! She came through (in a real pinch) to officiate a wedding with very little notice. Beyond being responsive and easy to work with under some stress, she oozed (and I mean that in a good way!) compassion, care and commitment. Her presence at the ceremony was a gift to me and I would HIGHLY recommend her services to anyone that is looking for someone who can craft a meaningful ceremony that speaks to a multitude of experiences.

Carolyn was a lifesaver! Two weeks before our wedding we still had no one to officiate it. I was frantic trying to find someone and when I contacted Carolyn she told me she was available and it was smooth sailing from there. Her calm but professional demeanor made me feel like she had everything under control and we had nothing to worry about. Within only a few days she already had a script written up for us to read through and make changes if we wanted. She interjected some personal things about us to make the ceremony unique to us. With very little guidance from me she was able to put together the perfect script that catered to guests that are religious and even those that aren't. She said upfront that she does a wide range of ceremonies, so I suggest her to anyone of any religious or spiritual background! She even came out to my husband's dad's house for the rehearsal dinner. She made the walk through quick and easy which is what most people look for since the day before the wedding is so busy! The most impressive thing was that she pulled it all together so quickly and hadn't even been to the venue until the day of the wedding. She fit right in like a pro and the wedding flowed so smoothly!

Rev. Barkley customized our ceremony to exactly how we wanted our ceremony to go. She had great insight from past ceremonies to help guide us. She did a wonderful job.
