    I was one of the brides effected by the Vow To Be Chic closure in May 2018. Three of my bridesmaids had received their dresses and four did not. We were left scrambling trying to figure out how to best coordinate attire for the remaining girls for my July 2018 wedding. After exploring other bridesmaids dress places (who couldn’t produce new dresses in time for the wedding), resale sites (we couldn’t find all sizes), and custom dresses (too expensive), RTR came to my rescue by offering 50% off their bridesmaid packages to those effected by the closure of Vow To Be Chic. Shanelle at RTR was an absolute pleasure to work with. She explained the entire bridesmaid dress rental process, set up the orders/accounts for two of my four girls, and remained in constant contact since I first connected with her via email. She even emailed me the Thursday before the wedding to tell me she’d be out of the office that weekend and to call the help line if there were any issues! The girls had initially selected the 4-day rental package and she upgraded us to the 8-day at no extra charge on top of the typical inclusion of a first dress in two sizes, an alternate dress, and an accessory. It’s not often that you find an employee of an organization that goes above and beyond their daily duties to deliver for a (very desperate) customer. I am truly grateful for everything Shanelle did to ensure my girls would have dresses and would highly recommend RTR’s Wedding Concierge service to all brides!

    The earrings and bracelet I rented from RTR were so gorgeous!! They arrived on time and were a cinch to send back. I could have spent the same amount of money to buy nice costume jewelry that would have worked well, but I knew that I wouldn’t ever wear it again. So, if either way, I’m never going to wear my wedding jewelry again, why not just rent it all and actually get something really nice?

    After several painstaking trips to different bridal stores to find bridesmaid dresses I decided to use renttherunway.com for my bridesmaid dresses. The girls had to rent the dresses twice, so they could determine their size prior to the wedding, but even with renting them twice it was still cheaper than buying a dress they would never wear again. Plus the dresses were over $900 at retail so they looked very high quality. Very happy with the decision; plus for each of the bridesmaids who signed up I got a $20 referral fee (which helped pay for my Bridal Shower and Rehearsal dinner dresses!) It takes a good amount of faith in your girls to make sure everything is done timely, just make sure to stay on top of them so you don't have any snafus.

    Rent the Runway is the perfect invention for women who want a new amazing designer outfit for every new special occasion but don't want the price tag that goes along with it! Rent the Runway is ESPECIALLY a perfect invention for the year in a bride-to-be's life when there are a million special events thrown in her honor and where she will be photographed for each one!

    I have rented from Rent the Runway now on a few different occasions and each time I was provided with my dress of choice (in 2 different sizes, one for backup) and at least one alternate. I ordered dresses for my bridal shower, my rehearsal dinner, my wedding weekend, and an unrelated work event, and each time the dress has arrived quickly, beautifully, and with a free gift! It is very hard to send the dresses back, they are so gorgeous you just want to keep them!

    Each time I have ordered I've had great contact with the online stylists. They've helped me coordinate styles and sizes, and they went above and beyond for my wedding, sending me extra alternates and making sure the process was smooth and I was happy.

    I can't wait for another special occasion to arise so that I can order from them again! I've recommended them to friends and guests of my wedding and I will continue to! Thanks Rent the Runway!

    Rented my jewelry from this website and it was perfect. The necklace was exactly what I was looking for. The only downside was that I had to send it back. They make the returns very simple as well. I have and will use them again!

    I ordered earrings, a bracelet and 2 bags rental for my wedding. The earrings arrived missing about 10 tiny stones - so lame. The rental of my bracelet (pearl trellis - which was awesome) was $10 - I thought it was a good deal until the bracelet broke off my wrist somewhere late in the evening and I got charged $290 for not returning it. I could have bought it for $145 - but now I bought nothing for $290 -plus the rental and shipping. So I would recommend you just buy your jewelry and just own it - instead of renting and thinking you got a deal and then getting ripped off for what 4 bracelets would have cost.

    To make a long story short, I rented a reception gown from Rent the Runway and had an extremely negative experience. I made my reservation 4 months in advance and on the day my order was supposed to ship, they called me and said the gown was "not available." I had no back-up dress and had not bustled my wedding dress, which had a long train and was very heavy. They offered me "any other available dress," but that close to the event and to Christmas, my selection was rather small. They had nothing like what I wanted, and only one other full-length purple gown, which I was forced to choose if I wanted to stay in my color scheme. That dress, plus the cocktail dress I rented for my rehearsal dinner, was quite lovely and of very high quality. There's nothing wrong with RtR's product from what I experienced, but their service is abysmal. If they can't guarantee an order, why make a reservation at all? I realize it may have been another customer not returning or damaging the dress that made it unavailable, but when you have a rental product that is booked solid like this gown was, you need to have some way to deal with such an emergency. For all the stress it caused, I would not recommend this service, nor will I be renting from them again.

    I thought my wedding had gone off without a hitch—until I returned from my honeymoon two weeks later and discovered I have racked up $690 (and counting!) in late fees from Rent the Runway, where I had rented my rehearsal dinner dress.

    In a complete nightmare scenario, the return package was misplaced by my hotel concierge who had promised to deliver it to UPS. Rather than any offer any empathy for the situation, the Rent the Runway customer service team pointed the finger at me for leaving the package with a third party in a slew of typo-ridden emails, and when I called to speak with a manager, mysteriously, none were available.

    Don't expect to see any emails about your late fees; they are routed directly into your spam box—mysteriously, unlike the rest of the promotional spam you will receive from them. Also, don't expect to be able to tell your dress is late by logging into renttherunway.com; there is nothing on your dashboard that would indicate you owe well over half a grand.

    Brides have enough to worry about without having to carefully monitor the status of their Rent the Runway shipments. I really expected a more human response from a company that I had thought was supposed to be a game-changer for women, and am incredibly disappointed, despite having alerted them to the situation, that today I will still be charged yet another $53 in late fees.

    In short: for the peace of mind, it is better to go elsewhere.
