amazing experience
My husband and I became engaged right in the middle of the pandemic. Despite this, Kate responded quickly to all of my emails and when I was getting nervous about guidelines/restrictions related to covid, she would look for a time to talk and she helped reassure me on the phone. The Renaissance made our ballroom wedding come true and my husband and I fell in love with the look of our reception. From the bistro lights included in our package to the cocktail hour, everyone loved it and commented so much on how beautiful everything looked. We have so many great things to say about this venue and truly feel blessed that we were able to have our wedding at the Renaissance and customize what we were looking for. Thank you Kate and everyone at the Renaissance for a wonderful night and experience! -

A Venue with a Team you can count on!
My husband and I could not be happier with the Renaissance Providence Hotel. We first fell in love with the Renaissance after touring other Providence wedding venues and realized it was the perfect fit for us. We recognized right away that we were in good hands and felt the Renaissance was willing to work with us and allow us to focus our weekend around the Hotel. The convenience of being able to have our ceremony and reception in the same place was what we were looking for in a venue. We were also attracted to the idea of hosting our cocktail hour in Publics restaurant with use of the full bar and lounge.
From the modern vibe in the lobby to the charm and unique character of each room, the Renaissance is the perfect venue for an elegant, classy, urban wedding.
Our bridal suite was such a beautiful space with the most incredible views of the State House. It was lovely to see the State House illuminated at night, and then framed by the sunrise on our wedding day. All of our guests were pleased with their rooms having recently been renovated and equipped with stylish decor.
The most important person we worked with on our wedding day was Jessica, our Wedding Coordinator & Catering Sales Manager, from the Renaissance. Jess was the key to making our wedding day a true success. She was with us from start to finish and predicted our every need. Even leading up to the big day she was always accessible to answer my questions or need for advice. She knows just how to orchestrate a wedding to keep the day running smoothly. As a Bride you spend so much time planning and hoping your venue and other vendors will understand what you envisioned, and Jess did that and more. She truly went above and beyond for us and we are so very thankful and fortunate to have worked with her.
Jessica also works closely with Steven (Event Operations Director) who we had the chance to meet during a tour of the Renaissance. He works more behind the scenes on your wedding day, and quietly makes sure every little detail is just how you wanted. You can tell how much he takes pride in what he does which will translate on your wedding day!
We also worked with Chris who is the General Manager of Public Kitchen & Bar at the Renaissance. We used his space for our first look, cocktail hour, after party, and breakfast the next morning. The stairway entrance into Publics was the perfect place for our first look and made for a grand entrance as newlyweds following the ceremony. Our guests could enjoy a full bar and lounge for our cocktail hour and then were able to return for our after party. We highly recommend Publics on you wedding day or even just a night out!

Bethany and the team at Renaissance Providence did an amazing job making our wedding special. No detail was overlooked and the professionalism they displayed was top notch. From start to finish we could not have been happier with the way the wedding turned out. We would recommend this venue to friends and family. We were thrilled with the professionalism, thoroughness and courtesy of the staff at they Renaissance. Courtney was fantastic. The decor was beautiful and the food was absolutely delicious. The team is a well oiled machine and ensured a seamless and stress free evening for me (the bride). -

I had my wedding in May, and it was the best day of my life! Courtney and her team at the Rennissance were amazing! I clicked with Courtney the first day I met her and she's an amazing person! She's always on top of her game! The whole hotel is amazing and so modern with the renovations they did! I wouldn't change a thing that day and so happy I chose them! -

We had our wedding weekend room block, rehearsal dinner and Sunday brunch all at the hotel. Everything was absolutely fantastic. We were not expecting anything special for the food at the rehearsal, but we were pleasantly surprised that both the fish and chicken were excellent! The rooms have unique cultural experience and the bridal suite was also amazing. Drinks at Public Kitchen were tasty and the brunch food was a great finishing touch! The staff, both before the events and during, were phenomenal to deal with. Highly recommend this hotel for any wedding activities in the Providence area! Courtney was the best! -

I would tell any couple considering to have their wedding hosted by the Providence Renaissance to stop looking and book right away! Our wedding was PERFECTION and we would not change anything about it. Working with Courtney and her team at the Providence Renaissance was so easy, and they helped to make our special day amazing. Courtney was so great to work with, kept track of everything we needed to have the most amazing day, and periodically checked in to make sure everything was all set. She had fantastic ideas and offered great advice when I was having trouble making decisions. On the night of our reception, her team worked tirelessly to ensure we had the best day ever. Everyone was incredibly friendly and approachable. I am 110% satisfied with our choice of the Providence Renaissance as our wedding reception venue!! -

You have to always imagine yourself as the guest; sounds a bit strange however that is exactly how I planned around my wedding. I knew exactly what I wanted and what I did not want; from past experiences as being a guest at other weddings Courtney and her team were able to accommodate every single one of my details. I never ever imagined planning this wedding with the Renaissance would be SO EASY. Courtney was able to give me her ideas and views on things that I never imagined could be possible; she is extremely creative and on point. You need a vendor that does not just "sell you words".. they need to prove to you by action.. Renaissance literally would get back to us via email within minutes of us asking a question or calling us back if we had a concern. I had guests fly in from Italy and trust me when I say they see beautiful weddings and venues; they were extremely impressed with every detail. I am proud to say I got married at the Renaissance. -

From the very beginning, we have loved our experience with the Renaissance. Working with Courtney was great; she was responsive, helpful, and pleasant; she really went above and beyond to answer all of my questions and is great at her job. Our wedding went off without a hitch and was beyond what we would have expected. The food was served in a timely manner and was just as delicious as when we went for our tasting. The staff from the concierge to the catering staff and bartenders and other event staff were amazing. I could go on and on, but if you book with the Renaissance, you will not be disappointed! -

We recently had our wedding at the Rennaissance Hotel in Providence and cannot begin to say how great everything went. Courtney, the event coordinator, was extremely helpful. She assisted me theoughout the entire process, her recommendations on vendors proved to be an excellent choice. The entire staff was extremely accommodating. Every guest I spoke to said it was the best wedding food they have ever had! I look forward to visiting the Rennaissance again for our Anniversary! -

When my fiancé and I started to look at wedding venues, we didn't really know where to begin. I did know that I wanted to have our wedding at a hotel in Providence, so I started contacting any hotel in Providence I could think of. After contacting the Renaissance, I heard back immediately from Courtney. We had our tour of the hotel and she quickly put together a proposal for us that was under our budget, yet also incorporated things we had wanted at our wedding. She was by far the only contact at a venue that obviously wanted us to have our wedding at her venue and made us feel special from day one. Throughout the planning process Courtney was extremely responsive and professional, and always had an answer for everything. She always remembered the small details that I said I wanted at our wedding, and helped me figure out what to do to really transform the room at the hotel. She also contacted our vendors days before our wedding to make sure that we were all the same page. Courtney truly was more like a wedding planner, but that is not even her job title. On the night of the wedding, I was blown away at how everything came together. Steven set everything up in ways that I didn't even think of. Everything was beautiful and perfect. Not only was everything how I pictured and the service amazing, but the food was great too. The Renaissance is also very affordable! Our wedding was on a Sunday, but it still was extremely fun and our guests had a wonderful time. Having our wedding at the Renaissance was the best decision we made! -

The Renaissance was the perfect place to have our wedding reception! The Ballroom is on its on floor with its own bathrooms (there will be no wedding crashers) ! The hotel is extremely clean and all my guests loved their rooms. Having our reception at the Renaissance gave our guests the opportunity to spend the night after a long night of celebrating! Our guests raved about the food, my brother who is picky told me the filet was one of the best pieces he has ever had! My husband and I worked with Courtney who is absolutely amazing! She was always cheerful and full of energy! Courtney kept us on track and was there the night of our wedding to make sure everything went perfect. The staff at the Renaissance is amazing as well, there is nothing better then knowing your guests were treated well every time they came in contact with a staff member. The ballroom is extremely clean and they provided us with an awesome dance floor! I can't say enough good things about the Renaissance. I know that any bride and groom will not be disappointed!! -

Perfect venue for a wedding reception! From our first meeting with Courtney Maleakas right through the planning stages to the night of the wedding we were so impressed with the beautiful Renaissance Hotel. Courtney is the utmost professional who is extremely knowledgeable and goes out of her way to ensure everything is perfect for the wedding. Her attention to detail is superior. The staff is as amazing as Courtney. Steven's expertise in bringing my daughter's vision of how she would like the ballroom and cocktail area at the reception was spot on. His ability to pull a room together is superb. The food was absolutely delicious - our guests have been raving about how tasty everything was - from the pasta station ( highly recommended) to the passed appetizers to the dinner. The waitstaff are top notch. The valet and entire staff are attentive, friendly, and were always going out of their way to assist not only the bride and our family but our guests as well. Guest rooms are gorgeous with beautiful views of Providence. My husband and I, our families and friends wholeheartedly agree there is no better venue for a wedding in Providence than the Renaissance Hotel! -

The Renaissance was amazing and so was Courtney. I cannot say enough about the service and professionalism of Courtney and the entire staff at the Renaissance. Both my husband and I's families were coming from out of town so it was important to make the wedding weekend as easy as possible for them. I received multiple comments from our guests saying that the hotel was beautiful and clean and that the Renaissance had provided the best service at a hotel that they had ever had. Working with Courtney was amazing. She was always incredibly responsive and she told the truth. After our first meeting with Courtney, we felt like we could trust her and she never let us down. She also upgraded us for our wedding night. Basically, Courtney took great care of us and not a single thing went wrong on our wedding day. I would absolutely recommend having your reception at the Renaissance. They did an amazing job and I do not have a single complaint. -

I could write forever about our experience at the Renaissance. It was the perfect experience. From the moment we met Courtney Maleakas (after seeing 10 other venues in MA and NH) we were crazy about her and the hotel. My husband and I didn't have any great vision for our wedding - we wanted an all out party and we wanted to fit our guest list of 275 and our budget. What came together over a 10 month period was simply amazing. Courtney helped me develop a vision and was EVER so patient when I had difficulties making decisions. Courtney worked hard to offer alternative options to us that would better fit our style, vision, and budget. Everything from timely responses to emails, to planning our cocktail hour at Public, to a tailored grab and go late night slider snack for our guests provided us with the most stress free experience. From the second we got to the hotel we were treated like royalty and felt so welcome and taken care of. Every person from the valet staff and concierge, to the waitstaff and bar tenders, to event coordinators Steven and Courtney were lovely to be around and really seemed to enjoy what thet do for a living. I cannot thank you all enough. A special thank you to Courtney- she will forever be one of my favorite people. I would recommend a stay, a wedding, a post wedding day brunch (even more - all three :) like we did) at the Renaissance to ANYONE! There is not a day that goes by that I don't want to go back :)

Courtney and her team were completely spectacular. Planning a wedding is a stressful process, made even more so because you really only get one shot at it. Unlike some other brides, I was more inclined to elope than to plan a big wedding, but that wasn't in the cards. It was also twice as stressful because we actually hosted a multi-day Indian wedding. Courtney was invaluable as a resource for vendors, logistics and just wedding advice in general. She was extremely responsive, patient and kind and provided exactly the kind of expert help and guidance we so desperately needed. We ordered food from the venue one night and brought in a separate Indian caterer the next. People still tell us how much they loved the wedding, how beautiful it looked and how outstanding the food was both nights. I can't say enough good things about Courtney and the other members of her team. Also, weddings are expensive. Unlike the several other venues I spoke with in the area, the Renaissance operates in an honest way and doesn't nickel and dime you on the small stuff like other places do (and those small costs can add up!). We hired a "day of" coordinator and it frankly wasn't necessary with Courtney and her team. While we had initially wanted to have a ballroom with windows (the Renaissance unfortunately doesn't have this), we were hosting an evening wedding and the space was completely transformed into a warm, elegant, intimate, magical setting with fairy lights and colors - the windows weren't even remotely missed. The ballroom and surrounding lounge-type area is also on its own floor so you get the entire space for your party. The Renaissance itself has some gorgeous locations indoors for pictures and we had our wedding photos in front of the State House right across the street, which was very convenient. We were really surprised when they came back at how striking and beautiful the backdrop turned out to be. Overall, a wonderful experience. I cannot recommend them more highly. -

Courtney and her team were amazing! Courtney was so personable since our initial meeting with her and truly wanted us to have a perfect day. She was always there to answer any questions I had. Our guests raved about the service from the coffee in the lobby to the welcoming staff members. Upon my parents arrival at the hotel Courtney sent a hand written note and some nibbles to their room. When I checked in for the night before the wedding I was surprised with the most spectacular room in the hotel! The wedding day went very smoothly, I didn't have to worry about anything. The food was amazing and our guests had a great time. My cousin's wife, who had their reception at the Biltmore, said that our wedding was better :) Most importantly whenever I think about the day it brings a smile to my face. I highly recommend the Renaissance to anyone looking for a venue in the greater Providence area, you won't be disappointed! -

I cannot say enough great things about this venue and its staff! The venue is beautiful! The event coordinators at the Renaissance in Providence, RI did a wonderful job with our wedding. Courtney was extremely responsive, patient, organized, detail and helpful throughout the entire planning process (I had 6 months to plan my wedding). She even helped me figure out how to bustle part of my dress after the ceremony. She kept things running smoothly and on time. Steven also did a wonderful job with setting up the reception and the foyer. He made all my requests and ideas come to life. I would highly recommend this venue for any special occasion! Our guests also enjoyed the hor dourves and the entrees. -

I cannot recommend Courtney and her staff at the Renaissance Hotel Providence enough! From the moment my wife and I met with her for our initial consultation, Courtney understood the exact vision we had for our big day. Within a few days, she had come back with a menu and a proposal that was so perfect, we stopped searching for venues that day. Courtney made the entire wedding planing process FUN and enjoyable. Her professionalism and attention to every detail set our minds at ease, even as we got closer to the wedding day. She was always available via email, and I got a response to every question (big or small) oftentimes within the same business day, something I did not expect, but greatly appreciated. We had both the ceremony, and cocktail hour/reception at the Renaissance, and I have to say, each segment of our wedding transitioned smoothly, AND had its own unique, special touch. A week or so before the wedding, we met and finalized every last detail, so we went into that last week calm and relaxed, knowing exactly what to expect. Courtney and her staff arranged for us to have a rehearsal for the ceremony the night before, and event thought she could not be there that evening, Beth, her second in command, ran the whole evening without a hitch. We also made our own decorations and centerpieces, and Steven did an amazing job in setting everything up exactly as we envisioned, you would have thought we hired an outside vendor just for decor. The day of the wedding went about as perfect and smooth as I could have imagined. The food was utterly FANTASTIC! We had stations of various vegetarian/vegan friendly cuisines, and let me tell you, our guests just LOVED it! Thank you to chef Rebecca - We received so many compliments on the food, I could not have been happier! I HIGHLY recommend the Renaissance Providence. I would like to thank Courtney and her staff one last time for all their hard work, professionalism and attentiveness. -

Our wedding was absolutely spectacular, and guests are still commenting on how seamless and truly beautiful the ceremony and reception were at Renaissance. Working with Courtney to plan our wedding was an absolute pleasure. She tended to every single question we had, and there were an incredible amount, and she made sure that anything we wanted, we received. There are simply not enough positive words to say about Courtney's diligent work ethic, genuine personality, and outstanding professionalism. Courtney and her team at the Renaissance were a great team to work with while planning our wedding. They were extremely accommodating with all the little details I asked for! The venue itself is beautiful and we couldn't have chosen a better place. The day of ran extremely smooth and Steven was always there to make sure Paul and I were okay. The Renaissance Hotel gave me a privilege that I don't think many brides can say they had: I do not have a favorite part of my wedding. THERE ARE TOO MANY! My favorite parts date back to almost a year and a half ago when we went to see the Renaissance for the first time and met Courtney Maleakas. I cannot say enough good things about her, the hotel, and the staff. For the people who work here, it's not just about money or your business, it's about creating YOUR dream wedding, making memories, and giving you "moments". Steven (the decorator) far, FAR surpassed what I envisioned the room and decor would look like. We had a few odd requests as my family was doing most of the decor ourselves, but Courtney and Steven never made us feel silly or like our vision was out of touch with reality. It was never that it couldn't work, just that we needed to figure out how to make it work. I will never recommend a different venue to anyone. Everything ran on schedule, our guests were completely involved, impressed, and having the time of their lives!
The food is one of the first things people compliment when they talk about the wedding in these days following the event. I have never in my life been to a wedding where guests plates were completely (COMPLETELY!) cleared!! My mom's best friend called her and wanted to know who the caterer was for future events..but that's the best part: the caterer is in-house!
During the week before the wedding I was so relaxed everyone thought I was crazy. They were in amazement that I had the time and energy to be where I needed to be for the other aspects of my life. Honestly though, Courtney had everything to do with that. She had our information worked out way ahead of time, was always available if I had a question, offered advice on things when we needed it, and made the process so incredibly easy. Everything was perfect…and I truly mean that. -

Renaissance is a place that I will definitely and always recommend to any one that is getting married for their venue. I can't not express enough of how great the quality of service, responsiveness, professional and flexible they were. They went above and beyond. They made one of the special days in my life so incredibly stress free and wonderful. It was just what I wanted. They made sure that everything was just right if not better. Not to mention the food was awesome. We still talk about till this day! It was worth every penny! -

Having our wedding at the renaissance was not a choice. It was fate! After planning our wedding for months, we found that our original vendor misrepresented themselves. The wedding could not have gone any smoother. From those who facilitate parking, to the fantastic front end staff, through those who reorganize the guest rooms, they all exceeded expectations. With over 100 guests traveling from across the country to join 150 locals, a positive travel experience was a key objective. The location next to the River Walk, East Side, and the Providence Place Mall was an unexpected plus.
The wedding evening was fantastic and we would enthusiastically recommend the facility. The food and beverage service was all one could expect. Most importantly the bride and her mom were not disappointed by one segment of the evening.
For a year my three daughters and my wife worked in collaboration with Courtney Maleakas. She could not have been more helpful or proactive. Her level or patience was only surpassed by her ability to anticipate any potential obstacles to ensuring the evening was a magical event.
On Sunday the bride and groom's friends took to social media to express their thoughts on the venue and evening. My comments above do not give justice, nor accurately reflect, their excitement regarding the previous evening.
As a father I thought I understood how important the planning and execution of this evening would be. A year ago I had no idea how involved the process actually is. I also did not truly appreciate how critical every minute detail of the wedding would be to the bride and how vital that every single facet of the wedding was to the bride. She wanted the evening to be perfect and frankly, even the most ardent critic would have trouble finding fault with any aspect of the wedding.
This was our first wedding of three (hopefully in a few years!!) and we could not have been any more pleased with Courtney or the other members of the Renaissance Team. The bride and her mother considered several venues throughout Rhode Island, they made an excellent selection. -

We were beyond happy with our wedding at the Renaissance! Courtney, Lisa and Steven are an amazing team, as well as Dino and the staff from Public! Courtney always got back to me with an answer to all my crazy questions right away! I was so comfortable knowing our day was in her hands. Steven was amazing in setting up the ballroom and all the extras we had brought for the day. He exceeded our expectations and was even just a great person to have there that night and talk with! LIsa was also there to make sure things went smoothly. She helped me out in my "hangry" moments after taking millions of pictures and made sure my bridal party, family and I were taken care of.
Cocktail hour also exceeded our expectations. When booking the hotel, Temple was still there which was a huge factor in us choosing the Renaissance. I was upset when it switched over to Public only because it was such a different vibe. I then realized it was equally, if not more, of a cool place. The hors d'oeuvres were better than we ever expected and so many of our guests can't stop talking about them! We even had guests write in our guest book that Public was the best restaurant they've ever been to!
The main courses in general were amazing, too! We had several guests tell us it was the best food they've ever had at a wedding. We had such a hard time choosing at our food tasting but were able to narrow it down. I finished my entire meal (didn't care about my mermaid silhouette dress...it was too delicious!)
We had guests stay the night and every single one of them complimented the room and even the staff. My father-in-law is an early riser and he was so thankful to the staff and valet as they helped him find coffee in the wee hours of the morning!
The staff and bartenders were amazing, too. They made sure the groom and I were happy and we certainly were! Thank you Renaissance for giving us the best night of our lives! -

Our weddding experience at the Renaissance Providence Hotel was unforgettable. From the moment we met our coordinator Sarah, we knew that the Renaissance was the place for us. The Hotel itself was impeccable and made a great backdrop for wedding day pictures. The service throughout our event was second to none. Sarah, along with entire hotel staff, met our every need, leaving us to simply enjoy the night without worry! Many of our guest chose to stay at the hotel the night of the wedding and join us for brunch the following morning. It was faboulous! If you are looking for a change from the country club norm - without having to increase your budget- consider the Renaissance - you wont be dissapointed. -

I run a corporate events business so I had a unique perspective on wedding planning. I cared a lot about certain things that most brides don’t care about, and not at all about others.
My 180 guests were from both Boston and NYC, so we picked Providence as a middle location, and wanted everything to be convenient for the guests once they arrived since everyone had to travel.
The Renaissance was reasonably priced and fabulous to work with. My guests, mostly from New York City, couldn’t stop saying how much they loved the hotel—the rooms and service were excellent.
The previous coordinator, Courtney, left about a month before my November wedding. While the transition was frustrating at times, Bethany went above and beyond to make up for the headache of having to communicate things for a second time. Bethany has been with the Renaissance for many years in a different role and had plenty of hospitality industry knowledge to take over our wedding with only a few weeks’ notice, so I wholeheartedly recommend working with her and the Renaissance team.
My wedding was 180 people, so we needed to have our cocktail hour in the Public lounge rather than the ballroom foyer, which required an earlier start time than I would have preferred, but it worked out fine. The one hiccup was that not all of our guests received their gift bags, but the Renaissance team was apologetic and happily brought the extras to our Sunday brunch for guests to take home.
Bethany worked with me to modify the appetizer and entrée options from the standard menu and all our guests raved about the food. Bethany’s team assembled all our centerpieces, including trimming flower stems, giving my mother sister, and I all our Friday afternoon back. She led our ceremony rehearsal and managed our processional flawlessly. The Renaissance was a fantastic wedding venue—much more accommodating than most hotels—and as an event planner, I highly recommend them without hesitation.

I love Providence and the hotel is beautiful. Staff is friendly and guest rooms are clean, comfortable, and feel new. I also loved the location of the hotel. It allowed us to take beautiful pictures across the street at the State House.
Working with Bethany was amazing!! I had began my wedding planning process with a different coordinator who changed jobs a few months prior to my wedding. Bethany stepped right up and made sure that we did not skip a beat. She was very organized and knowing that she was overseeing the wedding day allowed me to relax and enjoy the event. -

When we first went to visit Renaissance we knew it was the place for us. I didn't want the typical Country Club wedding. I wanted something with a different backdrop, Renaissance was exactly that with the gorgeous lobby, perfect cocktail hour space (Temple Restaurant) and gorgeous ballroom. But I thought for sure it would be out of our price range. But, Janet worked with us and we were able to have the wedding on a Friday night for lower minimum, I played with our budget and we got everything we wanted! Janet was amazing in helping us create our dream wedding. She was so helpful and accommodating to my requests and "goodies" I had brought in for the wedding. The food was amazing and everyone couldn't stop talking about how amazing the cocktail hour was. One of my guests came to me and said "How did you pick this place, Cocktail hour was amazing the staff was doting on us the whole time!" Thanks Janet and the whole Renaissance team, our wedding is still being talked about!

I was a long-time resident of Providence and had always wanted a winter wedding in the city. We had a rough start due to some employment changes, but once I met Courtney everything was smooth sailing. We chose the Renaissance because it is a bit more unique that the standard RI hotel venue and we were not disappointed. From the moment that you step into the lobby of the hotel you feel like you have been swept away - it makes such a great first impression to all invited to the wedding. The cocktail area and ballroom are gorgeous and the hotel offers lots of interesting areas to take formal pictures. We stayed at the hotel for the weekend and the rooms are to die for. The service as an overnight guest is unparalleled and the honeymoon suite was breathtaking, complete with a bottle of wine, dessert, and a view of the Statehouse. My family and I felt completely "taken care of" at the hotel, as we were the only event in the hotel for the entire weekend. If you are looking for personal attention and visual impact this is your best bet! -
